Reviews:
I bought this guitar about 7 years ago and haven't played anything that I like better. It tunes easy, plays good with very low strings, and holds tune for weeks. I play the crap out of it and rarely have to tune it with Elixir strings. I play two or three gigs a month and have only had trouble with the DSP electronics. They are great when it comes to features, but they shot themselves in the foot when they converted the 9 volt system to two AAs. They last about 6 hours and crap out (Energizer, Duracell, rechargeable, doesn't matter). Also, when using a Boss pedal tuner in line, the pedal tuner has trouble picking up the output and refuses to ever pick up the drop D tuning on the low E string. May be the guitar, may be the tuner. I also have the matching JJ signature 12 string that is an exact copy of the 6 string. I love this guitar as well. If you order it, don't order the DSP. You'll love the guitar, but hate the electronics.4x4Dually
I have had a problem with the pick-ups. When they are working right you can't beat them though.Anonymous
I'm an average guitarist with a pleasing quiver of guitars that always seem to interest guitarists much better than myself. This Takamine is no exception. I love the thing. It just rings. I got it like 15 years ago through a friend who had a Takamine connection. Ridiculous discount. To this day, my guitarist friends drool over it. Anyway, this is a beautiful instrument.GemTones

If you are looking for a high quality acoustic/electric guitar that is affordable this is your guitar. Amazingly clean / crisp natural sound with available onboard effects. Quality pickups, very responsive. Not to mention absolutely beautiful. Big thumbs UP!!!!Mike
When I'm sitting at home, my go to guitar is my Martin 000-28. If that guitar is not in my hands then I have my gn75ce in my lap. This guitar was playable and set up well right out of the box. Good enough that it's not worth the money to take to luthier to have it dialed in. I don't use the electronics on this guitar so I can't comment on that. As far as everything else , this is a well-constructed durable mid-range priced guitar. I'm quite pleased that I purchased it. it makes a wonderful addition my collection. It's a beautiful looking axe. I would highly recommend this guitar to anybody just starting to learn how to play or somebody wanting to add to their collection without spending thousands of dollars.Matthew Topp
Second Red Takamine. Had the first one over twenty years. I play simi pro and it never let me down. This one feels just the same, great color, tuners, neck and sound. You can't go wrong if you are playing out in public. Great price from AMC as always.F. Crothers

Reviews:
I spent two days in the Jackson, MS GC center playing every acoustic-electric in my price-range (and quite a few that exceeded it) – while ALL of them sounded good, I was looking for a specific sounds and feel that would allow me to get back into playing after a wrist-injury that still brings fatigue and pain with some guitar necks. The moment I picked up this guitar and strummed a chord, I thought, "This is IT. It's the ONE I've been searching for…". It plays beautifully – just the richest, cleanest and crisp rich sound imaginable. It's perfect for strumming and finger-picking and even now, weeks later – every time I pick it up to play it, it still delivers that same "wow" factor that sold me in the store.
Noticed a few scuff marks on the laminate back and sides. Saw glue where the neck attaches to the body. The guitar sounds bright but doesn't have that rich tone I was hopefully expecting.Paul
I record at home for my own entertainment. I used to be in a band when I was younger but I get a lot of pleasure doing my own thing. This guitar while not expensive sounds exceptional. The unplugged tone has it's own personality and the guitar plugged in is it's own animal. It's like having 2 guitars. If you want a good acoustic/electric guitar to jam with, get this one!!!BigDex
4. Takamine Tsp138c Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar (Natural)
Product Details:
Takamine's new thinline guitars bring comfort and performance to guitarist seeking a more slender body, uncompromised sound, and excellence on stage. this guitar features a solid spuce top, sapele back and sides, and a slender mahogany neck capped with a rosewood fingerboard. this great tonewood combination is finished in natural gloss finish. it features takamine's new ct-3n electronics, delivering powerful and controlled tone to any stage. it comes with a semi-hard sh100t case for lightweight, secure protection of your guitar.
Reviews:
Expected to sacrifice the rich acoustic tones for the thin line body, I was surprised. This is a fantastic instrument with great sustain and lower end. It may not be a J-200 but just flipped me out. The electric side has a great sound somewhere between an acoustic and a 335 electric. I own lots-o-guitars but this guitar just reached right in and grabbed my soul. Not sure if I could explain what it is about it but haven't put it down for a week. My fingers are numb and I'm loving it. The finish on it is top end and the case is more than nice.DickE
Comfortable to play. I like the thin line design. Have only had it a couple weeks, but it performs very well.Jim C.
Love the new guitar. It has a great sound, amplified or not. It is light and easy to play and carry.Laura
5. Takamine Gn30ce Acoustic Electric Guitar Black

Product Details:
The gn30ce uses takamine's most famous body design – the nex – to create an affordable guitar that is big on sound and low on price. this body size is a little bit smaller than a standard jumbo size but retains much of the big sound that jumbos are noted for. this is ideal because the guitar itself is a good deal more comfortable to get to grips with and is more 'lap-friendly' than a jumbo! sonically, the body size works with the solid spruce top and laminated mahogany to produce a strong, balanced sound with a bright response that records exceptionally well and suits strumming techniques in particular. there is a cutaway on the lower bout to facilitate upper fret access. the black finish has some nicely contrasting black and white binding around it to finish things neatly.takamine's own design tp-4t preamp and pickup system is fitted to ensure live performances sound professional and inspiring. this guitar is a handsome and affordable choice for players looking for a good songwriting machine with a balanced, resonant tone that will just keep on improving the more you play it.

Item arrived in perfect condition. Helpful delivery updates were given at each stage. The guitar itself plays very well for the price.Reviewed by guitarguitar custome
What a superb guitar at a real, real bargain price from Korg. I read loads of reviews before buying and they're all true – a beautiful tone in the lounge but really comes into its own when used plugged in on stage. Needed very little set up (all new accoustics need some initial adjustments) Absolutely no regrets.gmrals
An absolute beaut. That brighter sound that I love and a voice to fit. I have only had one other cutaway but this one feels great. The electronics are awesome. Very easy player.Histeam

Reviews:
I could not afford a Takamine Santa Fe model but I have 2 anyway. I love them both and the electronics are great sounding (Acoustic DSP AD-1). I do builds and repairs and have added a little to one of them that being turquoise I tumbled and polished then embedded around the soundhole. These are guitars you keep for your lifetime. I always advise players to leave a guitar in their stand so you will pick it up and play it a lot. Taylor guitar guys are crazy and leave them in cases in closets, that is no way to get better at playing and Taylors have thin tops that crack. Takamine (talk-uh-mee-nay) are built solid and worth every penny. NEVER leave weak batteries in the pre-amp and never leave them plugged in when not in use. Battery leaks will destroy the pre-amp.cravinbob
This guitar was set-up perfectly right out of the box. That has never happened before. I was fully expecting to have to do a little saddle and nut work, but nope. The action is perfect! Low and fast. The electronics are awesome. I play mainly through a PA system. Currently using a JBL PRX712 system through an Allen & Heath mixer through a TC Helicon VoiceLive3. The electronics allow you to tweak endlessly to achieve the sound you are looking for. Much more versatile than the Taylor Expression System (I have a Taylor 414CE). Unplugged, I give the edge to the Taylor…….plugged in….no comparison, the TSF48C kills it, and the action is better on the Takamine than the Taylor. I also have a Breedlove American C25/CRe-H fitted with the LR Baggs Anthem system. The Takamine provides much more control, and a more natural sound. There is nothing I can fault about this guitar. Small details of craftsmanship are evident everywhere. If you take the leap, I'm certain you will be happy. Thank you to the folks at Musicians Friend for a great purchase experience, too!JC
O.K. I have had the TSF48C for over six years now and I have no plans to depart from it. I play this Santa Fe mostly at Church for single songs on my Fender Acoustasonic Jr amp which sounds much better than the Church PA. The set-up remains low and smooth. Between this and my daily beater GJ72CE Tak I am set. The difference is that the Santa Fe is a milder tone and projection. The G body GJ72ce jumps out more and almost overrides the voice when playing alone, but in a group it holds it's own with anything out there.Dirt Dog

Reviews:
I've owned this Takamine TC135SC Classical 24-Fret Cutaway guitar for six months now and I decided to let patential buyers get an opinion on it. All I have to say about this guitar is GOOD things. I was surprized at the guitars weight at first for the Preamp is heavy duty carrying 4 AA batteries. Since that very first impression everytime I pick up this guitar the warth builds and I am amazed each time I hit an open position E maj chord how balanced and smooth yet bright and warm this guitar is. I can get lost playing for hours up and down the 24 frets and wouldnt think of trading in or ever upgrading this to something different. I play mostly Flamenco with a lot of attack. If you want to have a subtle Classical guitar I wouldnt suggest this for a lot of sound is sacrificed by the preamp and cutaway even though I feel that the over all tone and volume is fantastic. CheersConner-dOoDL
I have a Taylor 814CE V Class and am hard to please with the sound quality of acoustic guitars. The Taylor has been my standard. I wanted a nylon string acoustic with a nut width close to my Taylor steel string. The Takamine TC135SC seemed to fit the bill. I v continue to be very please with the sound, play-ability and beautiful craftsmanship of the Takamine. Don't hesitate to buy one.Tom
Quality built guitar than sounds great too.Reviewed by Project Music custom

This guitar is absolutely STUNNING!! It sounds just as Beautiful as it looks, super easy to play too.The tone that this guitar has is to die for..JUST GORGEOUS!! Thank You Sweetwater and Zack for putting my mind at ease about ordering on line.. I ordered on Saturday and my dream guitar was in my hands on Tuesday…I can't stop smiling,Thank You So Much!!!
This guitar has crispy sound right out of the box, I enjoy using it, it's a really fun guitar to use. At gigs this guitar will not fail you, it has great sound acoustically and connected I have no issue with this guitar at all no imperfections whatsoever. This guitar is pretty light not heavy at all, the inlays and really just the all around design and paint of the guitar is beautiful, this guitar is really elegant. This is Honestly worth the price no regrets whatsoever!Ozzie
before I brag on the EF341D , I want to brag on the staff at the las Vegas Sam Ash store. I purchased a Martin DC-13E Road series and decided the sound and quality was not to my liking. It had a strange resonation during strumming chords and plugged in to amp seemed worse. Maybe the type of wood it is made of or just me, and personnel likes. Anyway called the Sam Ash store and told them my dilemma, and honestly thought I would get the same Runa round I've gotten from other retail stores. I was wrong, I was treated with the utmost respect and understanding and exchanged the Martin for the EF341D without any Hassel whatsoever. The Senior Manager, Tony Giuffre was GREAT, he let me play every guitar hanging on the wall until I found the one I liked. Which turned out to be the Takamine EF341D. It sounds great through my old Fender Acoustasonic amp. I don't consider myself a professional guitarist , more like a hacker at best, but I perform at small venues and occasional wedding or Church service and Takamine makes me sound better than I am, and is a great quality instrument for my budget. So highest praise for Sam Ash, Tony Giuffre and Takamine. And please don't think I'm knocking Martin Guitars, I played on them many times and loved them, just didn't bond with the DC-13E this time .Anyway I would be hard pressed to go to any other music store ever again. So peace out and God bless everyone, even a wretched one like me.JESSE

Reviews:
Good guitar.priced about right.l'm also banking that the maple body opens up the more I use it. Changing the batrery could be challenging for some.P. Alagone
For this amount of money I had great expectations and would not settle for almost great. This guitar did met my great hopes and is sonic perfection to my ears. The guitar is extremely articulate so exact finger positions are imperative. The nuances of this articulation also seem to translate well when plugged in. The guitar itself is not loud when played acoustically. The line driver is really fascinating. I have tried over a dozen pick ups in many guitars. None sound better or even as good as this one. Takamine is really building great guitars. I suspect that the thermal process has something to do with the incredible articulation with this guitar. I realize that there is a much cheaper substitute for this guitar however I would be willing to bet it does not perform like this model. Unfortunately the cost is high which likely means that some great players will not be able to own one of these. Although I have had the fortune to own hundred of acoustic guitars, none have sounded better. I have had a few that cost more and most have cost considerably less. I have zero regrets paying this much money for this guitar. I am a light flat picker but I suspect that finger style players would also love this guitar. The action was set a bit low for my tastes but that seems to be the current trend. The low action would be my only criticism and is very nitpicky for this great package. I am 53 years old and have played guitar most every day for around 35 years. Very few people have bought and sold more acoustic guitars then me. This guitar is an absolute GEM.seanerbeaner

Reviews:
I have always thought that the best low end guitars on the market, the most guitar for the dollar, etc. are Takemine's. This GD30 is a prime example of that. The quality in finish, tone and the playability are typical of an instrument one would pay a lot more for in other brands. For someone who doesn't want to pay a whole lot of money for a guitar but still wants one that is playable, looks good, sounds decent and will last a while, you really can't beat the Takemine.beau900
I used to play 12 strings for fun then stopped playing when I thought I plateaued. Now I'm all rusty and stiff.HGJ
On the guitar, it feels and plays very high end. Upgrading from a budget beginner the difference is night and day. Very low action makes this easy to play. Solid top, D'Addario strings, built in tuner. Wow, I am beyond impressed. Worth every penny. On Walmart online, again awesome. This guitar was flawless and they actually sent the guitar foam wrapped in the hard case within a thick cardboard box. This is a precision musical instrument and it was packaged and handled as such.coben

This is such a beautiful acoustic guitar, and it plays as great as it looks! It sounds amazing, stays in tune very well, and is extremely comfortable to play. The sunburst finish is stunning, and the pickguard, tuning keys, and inlays all complement the guitar very nicely. You can't go wrong with a Takamine acoustic, and this is such a wonderful guitar that any guitarist would enjoy playing. I highly recommend this guitar!Lennon
Chitarra bella e ben rifinita. Ottima sonorità anche senza amplificazione, manico più stretto rispetto alle altre acustiche che possiedo e quindi, bisogna farci un po’ la mano ma, ne ero consapevole. Secondo me, buon rapporto qualità/prezzo.
Pietro Valido

Reviews:
Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Having this awesome new guitar is surely an inspiration to help me want to practice more.Kip

Big shout out to AMS. Bought this Saturday A.M. had in my hands Sunday Morning, next day. This is not my first order and definite won't be my last. Service is Fantastic. Arrived without blemish. Playability is far superior that the price would suggest. All it needed was a little tuning, strings were slightly flat, but thats to be expected. I'd put the tone and sound quality in the same ranking as my Gibson J45. You won't be sorry with this purchase.Chad M.
I’m a huge fan of 12-string guitars. I have two others, as well as a 12-string banjo (banjitar). My other instruments are usually kept at the performance venue where I work, and I wanted a guitar to keep at home and write with. Ordering online without playing first is always risky, but the Takamine GJ72-CE was ready to go almost right out of the box,” not to mention visually appealing. After tuning up, it was wonderful. The action is very nice, very good for faster playing, and the overall sound is well balanced. It’s quite a bright sound, but there is plenty of bass tone and good mid-range to match. The intonation is also exceptional. Chords and notes voiced in the upper frets are in tune across all strings. The electronics are very good, especially for the price. There is a great deal of control over the sound, and it sounds very natural. And oddly enough (to my ears, anyway), it sounds the best and most natural with “EQ Bypass” turned on. The only complaint I have is the sticker on the back of the headstock is difficult to remove and left some adhesive residue, but I don’t think it’s worth knocking off a star for something trivial like that. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic guitar. It sounds great and looks great. Five stars.
The guitar is extremely well made, has a great tone (with and without amplifier) and looks like a piece of art. The quality of the guitar is outstanding, the finish is flawless and the action is good. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality acoustic/electric guitar. Everything considered and I have looked a number of parlor or New Yorker style instruments, the price was incredible. I do not know how Takamine can make such a quality instrument for such a reasonable price.edwbe-1802
