1. Supro 2030aw Island Series Hampton Electric Guitar – Antique White
Product Details:
The hampton is a 21st-century update of the supro electric solid-body guitar. the elegant comfort of the 1960's-era beveled-edge ozark body shape and the mighty sound of the original field-coil pickups have been enhanced with an ultra-fast satin neck, tune-o-matic bridge and updated wave tailpiece. the result is a modern player's instrument with old-school style and authentic supro tone. the unique gold foil pickups found in the supro hampton are faithful reproductions of the original magnetics developed for valco by ralph keller in the early 1950s. these pickups, which gave voice to the vintage chicago-made supro guitars, have a massive, broadband sound with remarkably low noise for a single-coil design. the mini-humbucker-sized version of the supro gold foil pickup found in this guitar have the same internal construction as the humbucker-sized versions found in the other island series models. the hampton's bridge pickup is wound slightly hotter than the others, while the middle pickup is rwrp, providing fully hum-cancelling sound in the "2 and 4" positions of the 5-way blade switch. the time-tested tone wood recipe of an alder body paired with a 25 1/2"-scale maple neck and rosewood fretboard combine with the hampton's vintage-correct pickups to produce an exceptionally dynamic playing experience. blending vintage american tone with refined set-neck design, the supro hampton is intended for the professional musician who needs an ergonomic and versatile guitar capable of handling most genres of music with authority. the three pickups cover a huge range of tones, from fat single-coil jazz tones in the neck position to spanky funk tones and sparkling twang in the middle, and pure rock power when the bridge pickup is selected.

The guitar is great for the sale price i paid it. As far as tone and feel goes its amazing but there are a few things here and there that could be better for the full retail price. there were little blems here and there and a strange buzz which i think is the gold foil in the pickups its not fret buzz and you can only here it playing unpluged its faint but still annoying. but i will soon see when i have a guitar tech check it out! All in all a great guitar just a slip in Quality control i betruninsolo-4
Until just recently there were two pickup types that I hadn't had any experience with; gold foils & TV jones. After being able to play both of those types over the last month, I really like the gold foils…a lot! This 3 pickup model can you get you solidly into "Stratish" tones in postions 2 & 4, (due to I suspect RWRP of the middle p'up) but the tone is distinctly different from a Strat. Switch to the bridge p'up and you can get very easily into humbucker territory, good HB tones albiet not quite the power of a full-on bucker. It handles both clean and dirty tones well. I'd say these gold foils most resemble a mini humbucker, but again these are something different in the tone department. I like that…somthing different! The guitar balances well on a strap, it's comfortable to play, nice and light and has a nice feeling neck that fits the hands well (I'm not a fan of baseball bat type necks). The back of the neck almost feels like "smooth aluminum" it's a different feel, but fast and I like it. While this guitar competes just fine for lead work, I really like it for rhythm. Position 2 with the middle & bridge just has this vey cool tone that seems unique to the gold foil p'ups. I bought this guitar because I got a good price on it and just figured I'd re-sell if it wasn't up to my expectations. But after playing it for about a month, it's worked it's way into the "keepers" category and on this one, I'm happy to have taken "the path less traveled"!J

Reviews:
The Supro Hampton is quite unique in shape and sound because they're going for the old vintage Ozark feel. I love the look of this guitar and the sound of the gold foil pickups. The finish and setup of the instrument is top notch; very easy to play with a solid feel. While it is a versatile guitar, I'd say it definitely leans more towards the clean than the metal/rock style of playing. I'm glad that I took advantage of the deal on it to give it a try. Having bought and tried it out, I'd still highly recommend the Hampton at full retail price!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

3. Supro Belmont Electric Guitar Sparkle White
Product Details:
The belmont is a reproduction of the single-pickup, fiberglass supro electric guitar that was first manufactured in the early 1960s. the belmont reissue mates a chambered mahogany back with a newly-developed, composite “acousti-glass” top. this updated construction preserves the instrument's signature aesthetics and timeless sound, while improving its semi-hollow acoustic resonance and tuning stability. the belmont's vintage-correct tuners, dobro tailpiece and adjustable rosewood bridge are joined by a faithful replica of the legendary vistatone pickup to bring you a fully realized and worthy reissue of this classic supro guitar. the vistatone pickup found in the supro belmont is a reproduction of the groundbreaking, single coil design developed for valco by ralph keller in the early 1950s. the vistatone pickup is cited as prior art in seth lover's paf patent and is found in many of the most desirable vintage supro models. the supro belmont is acoustically loud—and its electric tone is pure 1960's rock ‘n' roll, with an aggressive mid-range voice that does not sound like any other instrument. our semi-hollow recipe of an acousti-glass top and mahogany body retains the unique sonic characteristics of the original res-o-glass models while providing today's musicians with a lightweight, highly playable instrument that stays in tune and is easy to maintain. the belmont guitar and its relatives in the americana series of supro electric guitars were designed by trevor wilkinson and david koltai to capture the spirit and sound of the art deco-influenced, historic line of supro instruments.

I've been buying and selling vintage Supro's for several years . I bought a new Supro James port , and quickly sold it . Beautifully done but weight a ton,and just lacked vibe . I knew I should have bought a Belmont . Well now I did , and it is a must have for any guitarist . This guitar far surpasses any vintage Belmont and has a sound for blues , that just needs to be heard.slick5715293za

4. Jackson Js Series Rr Minion Js1x Electric Guitar (Satin Black)
Product Details:
This is used guitar with standard wear and tear. i bought this just to play around with it. once i started to get more serious into guitar playing, the less i played this guitar. it's a 2/3 scale guitar and more likely a better fit for a younger person. the knobs were replaced with skulls with red ruby eyes. their is a plastic skull at the tip of the shorter point. it looks like there was a sticker or another plastic skull at some point behind the bridge. you can see the marks in picture 2. the last 2 pictures show some paint rubbed off on the backside edge. guitar plays well and works well with no issues.

Reviews:
I have wanted a Rhoads for a long time. I wanted that 80's hard rock guitar. This guitar did not disappoint me at all. The pickups are extremely high output very cutting edge. The guitar came close to perfect set up right out of the box. I made very little adjustments to get it just right for me. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the guitar sounded clean as well. I don't use the trem much but it stays in tune very well. When I grab it out of its case its in tune. It is a joy to play sounds and looks amazing. If you were worried about the quality don't be this guitar plays as well as any guitar I own. And without getting into it I own some expensive guitars.
2 disclaimers: I got this 5 days ago. I've had an Jackson RR tattoo for years. She's a looker… never thought I'd get a purple guitar but the purple quilt w/ gold hardware and white binding is gorgeous and I love how the reverse headstock has the color and quilting too. It plays fast as F. You'll wanna shred on it. It makes me wanna play Crazy Train, Holy Wars and the like but it may make you wanna play stuff that's way above my skill level and you can! Never had a Floyd Rose before but tuning it up wasn't too bad out the box (and it's super fun!); we'll see what happens when a string snaps. The frets and unlacquered back are smooth so it's easy to do fun slides and bendy things! The sustain is pretty good thanks to the mahogany body and the thru neck and it just feels solid. I've read this is heavy compared to other V's but it's the lightest of my 3 electrics and it feels quality and well balanced – there's no neck dive. I love that it comes installed with Dunlop button strap locks which I've had to purchase & install previously on my other 2 electrics. The pickups sound great with distortion and I haven't/am never going to play this w/o distortion so who cares about clean but I will say comparatively it doesn't sound as good as the EMG's on my EC-1000. There are some QC issues: There's fret buzz on the low E, some purple paint smudges on a small part of the white binding and the blending of the paint in some areas (which you generally never look at) could be better. I didn't have any of these issues on my (similarly priced) LTD EC-1000 and (my much cheaper) Ibanez AR-325 so these are pretty disappointing. Bottom line: I haven't put it down yet. It's fun to play and my other guitars currently feel unloved. If you like metal or you've always wanted a V this shape you should get it. I'm going 4/5 stars for the QC issues which are super disappointing but well reported on Indonesian Jacksons. Let's be honest – this purchase is mostly about speed and style. It sounds great and it delivers both of those in spades.Rishav
Paint job is just ok, but not great. It has a cheap quality to it, but looks good from a little distance. Matte is a hard paint job to be fair, and this is entry level, but still, this is a review. Pickup colors don't match at all. I bought black plastic pickup covers, which made it look a lot better fairly affordably. The plastics of the backplate, the humbucker rings, and the pick guard are super cheap and kinda bent, maybe from heat? Once again, entry level, but still, I've bought guitars at this price point without these kinds of issues. The Jackson version of Floyd Rose seems pretty ok considering. I've never had a Floyd rose that stayed in tune for very long, so this seems to be about right. The pickups sound very aggressive and bright, which was surprising. There is a loose wire that I had to tape down because of it hits the right spot, it cuts off the pickups (maybe a ground wire? Everything works still) The high string is a little too close to the edge of the edge of the neck for my liking, but I think that's just a personal preference. The body and neck seem solid, the neck is left unfinished, which I usually prefer, though this neck is like completely unfinished, so I'll probably need to get some sort of wood treatment for it. The fret inlays are great at this price point (not dots) and the frets don't have any burrs, which is a good thing for your fingers. The outline of the neck in white is also a classy touch, and the headstock is beautiful. Overall, it's an ok guitar. I would maybe get a different finish, and wouldn't expect it to be the greatest guitar ever, but it has a personality to it and is still a Randy Rhodes. Plays fairly well, definitely shredable. Accessing the 24th fret is a little bit of a reach, but that's ok. If I were Jackson (fender), I'd raise the price $20 and put decent plastics on it because it really does cheapen the guitar overall. I'll probably replace those parts myself over time, but I really shouldn't have to.Zachary

Reviews:
Overall: The first guitar I bought myself was a PRS SE Custom 24, it was an amazing guitar especially for a beginner. As I played more I found that I didn't like the finished neck, the fret work wasn't as good as it could be and the pickups weren't the tone I wanted. So I started looking around. A friend of mine showed me his PRS CE and after playing it I was sold. His was the matte black, but when I went on zZounds I saw several colorways that I liked. A few of them had pictures of the actual guitar, so I picked one that had beautiful figuring. The neck, fretwork, and setup are all amazing. This guitar played perfect right out of the box. The pickups sound amazing and the ability to split the coils for complete tonal diversity. My signal chainPRS CE24JHS Muffuletta Ibanez TS808 Fender Blues-Deluxe Reissue As to the case vs gig-bag issue. I prefer a gig-bag, but I wish it had come with the same one that the Silver Sky comes with instead of one that seems almost the same as the SE gig-bag.
This is a beautiful guitar and if it were 1000$ it would be well worth it. For 2300$ though I would like to have some inlays that don't look like cheap plastic and not have fret buzz. The buzz could be fixed with a set up but for 2300$ I feel like it should come set up. On the back the slots for the cover plates are not routed so they just sit on top. Not a deal breaker but this does make it look a little incomplete. Overall it sounds great minus the fret buzz. I'd say no better than a se model and not worth the extra money unless you just want a bolt on neck. I prefer bolt on or through necks which is why I bought the ce but I plan to return it and either get an ernie ball music man or an American strat. Not satisfied with AMS quality c
I bought this because I was in the market for a US guitar and I already had a US Strat. I was thinking about a Gibson Les Paul Classic and then PRS showed up on my radar. I did some research and decided to play both. I have an Epiphone Les Paul so I thought I would prefer the Gibson. I played this guitar first and the Les Paul just didn't feel right after that. I bought this one a couple weeks later. After having it for an extended period (12 hours) I started thinking about selling my Strat and buying a Silver Sky. This guitar just felt so good I didn't want anything else. The neck feel is fantastic. The tone options are amazing The color is sooooooo much more vibrant in person than in pictures It is sitting in the rack in the other room while I type this and I wish I was playing it right now. It was totally worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a true quality instrument.Jay P

Reviews:
Great sounding and quality amplifierMick
I shopped every amp on this website. This one checked all the boxes for me. I was looking for an amp that was made for pedals. I now live in apartments and needed an amp that could be quiet or loud. Also not heavy or awkward to carry up and down stairs. The volume and master knobs give the option for using a boost or distortion pedals. The helix stomp works in one or four cable method perfect. The amp I own is flawless. When I buy anything from this website I put on my magnifying glasses for inspecting. After owning this amp for 7 months now…I can say this is a great amp. One caveat = I have never played this amp loud. I live in apartments and keep it low.Steak and Eggs
Straight out of the box, this is a pretty good amp. It has a voice unique to Supro which is a nice change of pace from the usual suspects. If you use pedals in front of the amp only, it is super sweet and will cover a lot of different musical styles. However, I have lived and gigged with this amp for over a year and have a few comments on the overall product. And this is by far not my only amp. 1. The effects loop is not buffered. This means that your loop send signal will increase with the preamp volume which will distort a lot of your pedals in the loop as the preamp gain goes up. Took awhile to find the best solution. This was best remedied with an outboard loop buffer pedal which literally kicked the sound to a whole different level: it now sounds amazing and will cover most styles of music and continues to be even more inspiring to play. 2. Minor detail depending you how you plan to use this: for a combo this size, it is a little on the heavy side if you have to shlep this up and down stairs or any distance in an attempt to do a one trip load in/out on a gig. A swap to a lighter speaker fixed that and warmed up the sound nicely. 3. Playing with tubes was irresistible. The stock tubes are good, particularly the power tubes. You can get some cool shifts in tone and breakup if you mess with preamp tubes and refine it to your tastes. It continues to be a reliable and fun amp to play even more so with the few aforementioned mods.Van

hello- when these guitars came out I was intrigued, intrigued I say. the only thing holding me back was the price (American-made price, out-of-country manufacturing). so when I saw this deal ("buy it now" and no dreaded s&h) I snapped it up. wow, am I glad I did. this thing is beautiful. it looks great, it plays great, it sounds great-that's (wait a minute; that's 1, uh 2-yeah) 3 greats. and it came with a case. I am very happy. now I want a white one. -goodbyethoughtman
8. Supro White Holiday Electric Guitar Dawn White
Product Details:
The white holiday is a reproduction of the piezo- and vibrato bar-equipped fiberglass supro electric guitar that was first manufactured in the early 1960s. the white holiday reissue mates a chambered mahogany back with a newly-developed, composite “acousti-glass” top. this updated construction preserves the instrument's art deco aesthetics as well as the signature blend of piezo and magnetic pickups, while improving its semi-hollow acoustic resonance and tuning stability. the white holiday's vintage-correct tuners, vibrato bar and adjustable, piezo-equipped rosewood bridge are joined by a faithful replica of the legendary vistatone pickup to bring you a fully realized and worthy reissue of this classic supro guitar. the vistatone pickup found in the supro white holiday is a reproduction of the groundbreaking, single coil design developed for valco by ralph keller in the early 1950s. the vistatone pickup is cited as prior art in seth lover's paf patent and is found in many of the most desirable vintage supro models. the supro white holiday is acoustically loud—and this voice translates through the bridge-mounted piezo pickup, which can be used independently or blended with the magnetic vistatone pickup. our semi-hollow recipe of an acousti-glass top and mahogany body retains the unique sonic characteristics of the original piezo-equipped supro white holiday guitar while providing today's musicians with a lightweight, highly playable instrument that stays in tune and is easy to maintain. the white holiday guitar and its relatives in the americana series of supro electric guitars were designed by trevor wilkinson and david koltai to capture the spirit and sound of the art deco-influenced, historic line of supro instruments. case sold separately.

I bought this based on the looks and the price – the wiggle bar is very smooth and one of the best trem units I've played. The ability to blend the acoustic pickup with the electric pickup is very nice. This thing can get raunchy with some fuzz. Has a nice '50s era rock-n-roll vibe to it when plugged in clean. Acoustically, it is loud and projects like a quiet acoustic guitar in the room. Out of the box, the fit and finish were really good. The action is good, strings are good quality. There is a rubber bumper that traverses the edge of the body – my only niggle is that there is a tiny gap between the ends where they meet at the bottom of the body. I enjoy garage rock and surf guitar style music, and have quite a few jags and jazzmasters – this supro can hang with the best of them.vibrolux15k8
I bought this to add something a bit different. Wasn't looking for an acoustic sound from piezo (and you won't get one). I kicked the piezo up and then added the mag until it sounded good with a bit of overdrive. Really easy to get a great tone. Aside from the fret end finish, I'm pleased. You'll notice noise from the piezo when you hit the pickguard but everything sounds good when playing. I use a 68 Deluxe Reverb pushed a bit with a BB drive. Video on the site captures tone fairly well.Tom

The guitar itself is quite nicely built, but the app, which is supposed to help your kids learn the chords etc. is demoralizingly bad. It's hard to explain to a 5 year old why, after following the daily items (tune your guitar, practice some chords etc.) they don't get the points for completion. As a software engineer, I fail to see why it's okay to leave this basic functionality broken. Furthermore, the app appears to be abandonware. I see no updates or fixes. The 'Games' section has been 'coming soon' for months. The app should be removed from the site as a selling point, since it is basically broken. Just be aware when you buy this guitar, the app is not going to work.Ben
My 6 year old really loves the thing. She strums it and goes to it often without prompt. She can’t really get her fingers down onto the fretboard to play a chord, but she knows that those cards are instructions. She carries them around and tries playing them with the guitar on a flat surface. She also still doesn’t have a great sense of the guitar as an instrument, that’s to be taken care of, and not banged around like a toy. I think by the time she’s 8, this thing will be perfect for her. If you guys made something a little more towards the toddler end of the spectrum, I’d pick it up in a heartbeat. I understand and greatly appreciate that you’ve scaled down a real electric guitar. Phenomenal concept. Greatly happy with it. If there was something a little more durable, and a little easier for little fingers to hold the notes, I’d pick that up for sure. Great idea, great product, pretty nice app.James C.
Bought a Loog mini for my 9y old. He seems to like Guitar and I can play a bit , but whenever we tried on my Ovation he got very frustrated. Heard about the Loog 3 string and it made sense to me. Well my some loves it!! He’s learned the basic chords now because hit little hand can actually get around the fret board and he is so excited! As I’d dad, I’m I admit – this is a really well made guitar and I love messing with it !!John S.

Reviews:
Got the newer retro classic with 3 saddle bridge. Is a great value and equal to squier bullets for half the price. The newer indio needed a little work, but so did two squiers i have bought. The indio had rough fret ends and nut was a little tall. Sanded fret ends and sanded the bottom of the nut to reduce the height. Tuners are not smooth turning but stays in tune really well. Will remind again my squier bullets both needed much more work than this indio. Have sold both bullets and kept the indios. The indio plays great and is really slinky. I guess due to top load bridge. Indios are probably the best value out there.Travis
The guitar is surprisingly good considering the very low price. It did have one significant issue though that would make me hesitant to recommend it to a beginning guitar player. I'll start with the good stuff. The basic build of the guitar is very good. The finish is well done. The neck pocket is a good fit. The tuners are good. The nut was cut well. The included gig bag is similar to those I've seen selling in the $30-$50 range so it's a great value too. The electronics and pickups are the typical cheap and generic components that you find on guitars in the sub $200 price range. They aren't terrible though. The bridge design on mine is different than what was pictured. This doesn't matter to me but it does seem to vary. The bad thing on the guitar was the fret edges. I checked the level on the frets using a fret rocker and found them good but the edges were very rough. Since I do guitar tech work as a side gig, this was easy for me to fix but a beginning player might find this to be an issue.New User
This is a fantastic guitar for any beginner or someone who wants to see if a Telecaster is for them or to mod or even just to play. I've got Mexican and American Fenders and have had lower end Squiers. I'd say this guitar is the equal of the Bullet line but costs considerably less. The finish is flawless, electronics are fine, tuners are good and the neck is decent. The biggest problem I have with the guitar is the very small frets (not tall at all) and the sharpness of fret ends. The fretboard is listed as being rosewood but it's more likely what is called "engineered rosewood". It looks good and I like it but could be a little smoother. Buyers should note that Fender parts are not totally interchangeable. For instance, the neck plate is a different size so if you're planning to swap necks be aware. The pickguard holes and shape are not the same as Fender's, nor are the holes drilled appropriately for Fender's tuners. The ferrules fall out the back of the body when changing strings which is ridiculous and if you look in the holes you will notice that they are not drilled straight through the body. It appears the front and back of the body are actually two separate pieces of wood glued together with holes for strings drilled separately and they don't line up properly. That is unbelievably bad but you can still insert the strings so it doesn't negatively impact much. I would definitely buy this again and I'm even contemplating getting another.Steve
11. Indio By Monoprice Cali Complete Full-Size Electric Guitar Package With 10w Amp, Strap, And Extra Strings
Product Details:
Learning to play guitar can be a fun and exciting journey, but with all the many options and possible accessories, knowing what equipment you need can be a bit intimidating. skip the hassle and focus on your playing with the indio cali complete electric guitar package. featuring a full-size electric guitar, 10-watt guitar amp, and basic accessories, learning to play has never been more convenient.
Reviews:
Everything you need to get started if you've never played before. Everything is perfectly functional and works. I decided to get this kit after seeing some youtube reviews – the guitar is great for the money, punches above its price point, is easy to upgrade, etc. The neck came perfectly adjusted, haven't checked the tremolo yet. This kit including an amp and cable is the real kicker, and makes this an absolute steal for the price. The amp is a lot larger and louder than I expected for being essentially free and has built in gain and tone adjustments so you can get a more 'metal' sound out of it without any effects pedals. The cable is short and the weakest point here, replace it with something good. But it'll still get you playing right out of the box. The rest of the accessories (strap, picks, gig bag) are extremely cheap and not really worth keeping, but hey – they were basically free. The gig bag in unpadded, unlike when you buy the guitar without the amp.Alex
This is my very first strat-style guitar. It came well set-up. The action was nice and low, fret ends were dressed nicely with no sharp ends. There was some buzzing unplugged on the low E, but wasn't noticeable when plugged in to an amplifier. I bought this on sale. The entire kit was only $10 more than buying just the guitar – which also was on sale. From my perspective that was a no brainer. Though, the gig bag you get with the kit is nothing more than a dust cover, unlike the padded gig bag you get when you buy the guitar by itself. The amp that came with the kit is good as a bedroom amp, and it has a headphone out, so that's a big win. It does have noticeable noise, so I don't use it as much as I'd like to. Overall, I'm very impressed with my purchase. Recommended.New User
I bought the first guitar for my daughter about 6 mos ago and it was great. Then I bought a second one for her to have at her mom's house. I expected it to be great as well and didn't think much of it. Since it has been at her mom's house, I've never had a chance to try it out. One day I had the opportunity to try it out and one of the string was rattling against the nut. It was a couple of months after I bought it before I knew, so we just lived w/ it. Unfortunate, but otherwise, it's a very nice guitar. I gave this 3 stars, but it was mostly our fault. Had I knew early on, I'm sure they would make an attempt to resolve the issue if I let them knew.Iris

Great sale, beautiful guitar!!!setti-470
This Supro guitar is very well made and looks incredible. Gorgeous mid range slighty jazzmaster sound with a soft sparkling tone. Great sustain sound, great both for light picking and harder attack. Elegant and very well proportioned styling.. A very good, comfortable weight, lighter than a Les Paul and a good balance to both stand and sit. I am really impressed with it.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I ordered this guitar in Racing Green. They shipped the Daphne Blue. I've sent 3 emails to their returns department with no response. I called customer service and was told I have to wait for an email from the returns department. It's been a week now. I am not at all happy about this.I will say the guitar is very nice. I just don't want the Daphne Blue version. I would recommend the guitar, not the seller. I expect a prompt response to a problem like this.billbaginski

Reviews:
Beautiful guitar, but…the tremolo arm didn't fit. The hole in the bridge was too small. Contacted Monoprice, they offered a refund or an exchange. Decided to carefully ream out the hole with a small, fine circular file. Fret ends as usual were very sharp, easy fix with a foam sanding block. Other than those two bugs, I love the guitar. Wonderful neck, plays and sounds great. Fret work was excellent (except for the VERY sharp ends). Oh, and the bridge saddles are garbage. They are good copies of the original Fender saddles, but those were garbage too. $20 at Eyguitar for brass replacements.Daniel
My OS40 DLX did not arrive with a trem bar so I sourced one from Amazon—it's a standard 5mm with no threads. The bridge was extremely loose (which is normal for a Jazzmaster-type guitar), but the posts AND the sleeves were way too sloppy. Fixed that with some aluminum foil tape. The trem on this model is one way only (tunes downward) and cannot be made to float–like real Jazzmasters–due to the spring being too strong. I replaced the spring with a much weaker version and now it floats and actually stays in tune very well. Last, the bridge is the vintage version which looks like it was made from threaded rod, and the strings will easily shift position when strumming hard. The remedy is a steeper break angle which requires tilting the neck slightly with shims or (like I did) installing a Micro-Tilt device like on real Fenders. This increases the downward pressure on the saddles and along with 11-50 strings the whole thing works great. The body on mine is 2 piece solid wood–not a bunch of scraps like on many cheap guitars–and the fingerboard is exceptional. No shielding under the pickguard but it's an easy fix. Even with the extra work this guitar is a bargain.Matthew
Based on the guitar I received, this is a good starting point if you don't mind doing some work. On the plus side, the finish was very nice and the overall wood components, pickguard, and pickups are solid. On the minus side, there were some issues. The tone pot fell apart and had to be replaced, one of the pickguard screws fell out (stripped), the fretboard was very, very dry and the frets needed some minor work. Also of note, while the neck and body are very nice, the do not join smoothly. the veneer of the body extends beyond the side of the neck at the pocket and took about 2 seconds to crack. All of these items are repairable, but a bit excessive for most beginners.Cullen

Reviews:
The guitar came fast. Box was destroyed when arrived. Guitar was actually shockingly nice. The neck was nice, though a little bit rough. It played well and sounded OK, but noisy. Was a nice guitar. However there was a major hash down to the bare wood. It played so well I thought about keeping it. But in the end requested a return. Will update when receive replacement.Paul
I got one a few years ago and liked it a lot so I got another one a few weeks ago. There are some differences from the older ones. The new body is top-loader only, which would be fine if it wasn't for the bridge with sharp edges of the string holes, which then breaks strings like crazy (even broke the B and I don't remember breaking B like… ever). I will file those edges down on the next string change so it's an easy fix/adjustment. Also, the new body is tiny bit thinner (1.65 in. vs 1.75 in.; not a big difference) and has sharper edges to it which I like more as it looks the part more (the old one had rounded off edges which is a bit more comfortable but looks less like what a Tele should). The pickups are about the same, i.e., not the best so I replaced them. Finish on the body has some hazing but it's in the cutout so not as visible and I don't really care; it looks fine. The neck, however, was the biggest surprise – it has rolled edges and all fret edges are smooth – that's something you only get with $1K+ guitars. I don't know if I was just lucky or they are all like that but I love it! I did not have to do a thing to the neck – it was great out of the box. Fretboard radius is 16" and the grain on my copy looks great too. The frets themselves look a bit bigger/taller/better than on my old one. The back of the neck is unfinished but smooth and I prefer that over the finished necks. Tuners are the standard bottom-of-the-bin stuff but they work and I have no intention of replacing them soon. The string tree for G and D is unnecessary so I am bypassing it at the moment and will probably delete it. The headstock logo is a bit "loud" (I like the old one better) so I may have to do something about it. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a budget-friendly Telecaster style guitar and does not mind doing a few things to it to make it a great playing instrument.Igor
Excellent shipping time. I ordered the guitar on a Friday morning and received it the next day. But it helps that I am in the same state that is ships from. As with the previous guitars I have purchased from Monoprice, it is a great value for the price, especially considering it was on sale and I also got an additional promotional discount on top of the sale price. It pushed me over the edge in deciding to make the purchase. I have several guitars and have trouble justifying additional ones to my wife. This black & white Retro Classic (very similar to a Telecaster body design) will be for modifying (pickups, tuners, etc.). Out of the box there was some fret sprout, but letting the guitar sit with my other guitars for a week and will play it to get some tonal samples before doing the make over. The Retro Classic is a nice, solid guitar to start out with or add to your current arsenal, but may need some clean up (i.e. addressing fret sprout, set up, cleaning frets). Still recommend it. Again, cannot beat the quality for the price.Mark

Reviews:
This is a solid build guitar, perfect for beginners. Mine worked well right out of the box (after tuning, of course). The amplifier works well also, for what it is; a low-power practice amp. If you're looking for a way to start learning to play guitar without breaking the bank, this kit should work for you.CrashC
The guitar kit came in fairly quickly, but right away there was a problem. It came with five strings, with what was left of the sixth stuck in the guitar, the tuner was shattered, and the kit was missing the Allen wrenches and the picks. The box was loosely packed with no styrofoam or anything, with the guitar in the gig bag and the rest of the stuff thrown into the pocket besides the amp. Seems like it was either a rushed job, or all come boxed like that. The guitar plays alright once the strings were replaced, but it loses tuning pretty quick. Theres obvious signs of neglect such as body chips near the neck, and scratches on the pick guard. The finish on the guitar is pretty nice, and it feels alright in the hands. I wouldnt recommend if you expect everything to come as described in the picture though.jonaba4165
Great little set for beginners or even intermediates as you get the whole package. The tuner is very nice and works well. Everything to get started and the guitar itself feels very solid and has better than average settings for the sounds you'd want. The extra strings were fine but I'm adding a better quality set which I already had anyway. Either way you can't go wrong on this package. The amp has good settings and sounds nice. Overall a good buy.alsmith029
16. Monoprice Indio Boardwalk Hollow Body Electric Guitar – Trans Red With Gig Bag
Product Details:
Semi-hollowbody guitars are lighter and more resonant than their solid body cousins. this gives a mellow tone, making it well-suited to playing jazz, blues, or rock. indio boardwalk guitars feature a double cutaway and include a solid maple block center, increasing sustain and reducing susceptibility to feedback in high volume situations. enjoy the classic styling, originating from the need to get the guitar volume above the big brass bands of the 30s and 40s. full hollow bodied guitars have a tendency to generate feedback, so the semi-hollow guitar gives players the best of both worlds. setups include having the frets filed so they are free of sharp edges, ensuring that the nut and bridge are properly seated at the correct height, that the strings have the right amount of action with no buzzing, and that the electronics are functioning properly, so you can plug in and play right out of the box! take center stage and rock out on a friday night or worship on sunday morning.
Reviews:
Who knew Monoprice sold quality guitars! I ve been buying cables, adapters, and lots of other stuff from Monoprice for years. I had no clue they sold guitars. This ES335 clone came next day shipping at no extra charge and it plays like a dream. I m a professional musician, so I can tell you that for $199 you ll never get another guitar like this for the price. It s fully binded front and back. A beauty. I m going to shave a couple fret ends, but they re really not that bad. A killer deal.Jillian
I was excited about getting this guitar because I am so impressed with the Idyllwild acoustic I purchased last year. I was very disappointed with this Boardwalk hollow body electric. Almost all frets had sharp unfinished ends that needed to be filed and polished. The nut was improperly cut for the strings making it impossible to stay in tune. The pick guard was attached with oversized screws that were not properly tightened because they were too long. Needless to say intonation had to be adjusted. No amount of truss rod and bridge adjustment would clear some fret buzz when set to normal string height at the 12th fret. If this guitar went through your California set-up shop someone should be looking for a different career. The general fit and finish is pretty good and the electronics seem to be ok. I’ve been playing, maintaining, and repairing guitars for over 50 years and was able to make this guitar playable. If someone without my knowledge would have returned it as unplayable.Larry
As an owner of 3 other Indio guitars–Cali Classic, Retro Classic, and Helix–I know the quality of the Indio line, but I was unprepared for this beauty. Frets level and smooth, D'Addario strings, flawless transparent red finish, flawless binding–body and neck, set neck, decent tuners. Great playability. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!William

Overall: Wow. Insane out of the box. My first ESP and I'm a lifer now. Resonates very well. Frets are smooth all around and feels great in your hands. Weight and balance are sweet… solid guitar.. both literally and figuratively! The paint job is classy, sexy, and cool. Paid $999 but got a $3000 guitar ! Very happy (in case that was not obvious)!!
This was my first time buying a guitar this way, fully online. Let me tell you I couldn't be happier. I had to wait a few months for it to come in, but it was so worth it. I had it Plek'd and a bone nut installed. It was shipped in the case (I bought an ESP case) and I couldn't find a flaw anywhere. I've owned (and own) a variety of guitars from stupid-expensive to budget. I cannot believe how nice this guitar is for the price. You want to talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing, this is it. The tobacco with the black hardware is simply gorgeous. The sustain is glorious, and the neck is hyper fast. With the Fishmans a few wrist movements can take you from Di Meola to Dimebag. Needless to say, I'm very happy with this guitar and would certainly not hesitate to buy from Sweetwater again.
Overall: When my LTD EC-1000T CTM Tobacco Sunburst arrived, I immediately checked the country of manufacture. Mine was made in Indonesia. Initially I was bummed by this (I think we all want one from S. Korea) but after getting a feel for this guitar I can honestly say I have no QC issues or complaints with my specific guitar. I can't imagine there's any quality difference between mine and one made in Korea. That is to say, the quality and craftsmanship of this guitar are absolutely top notch!First off, this is a beautiful guitar. The color is dark, darker than most of the pictures show. This is a very good thing indeed, perfectly balancing a traditional design with modern flair and finesse. The flamed mahogany top has a decent amount of shimmer and "3D effect." The matte finish is gorgeous and feels great to handle. The full thickness body is well, thick! I love this chunky body style but if you're playing live a lot it may be too much. This is completely subjective though. Just know, it's thick! On top of that there's 7-ply binding front, back, and headstock…and it just blows me away how great it looks. 7-ply!The black hardware is nice, and complements the overall design and gives it a modern/brutal kinda look. The nut (molded plastic?) has some sharp corners that took me by surprise. They'll need to be filed down to prevent jabbing myself when returning to the first fret abruptly. But the rest of the neck/frets/fingerboard experience is absolutely glorious! Seriously this is my favorite thing about this guitar. It feels like a Les Paul, but the slightly thinner neck on this Eclipse is way more comfortable, but still has that "beefy" Les Paul feel. Hard to explain, but to me this is perfection. I do not experience wrist pain playing this guitar (every Gibson LP I owned gave me wrist pain). The ebony fingerboard and stainless steel frets simply feel wonderful, a complete joy to play this guitar with the added bonus of knowing you won't need a fret job for a very, very, long time (if ever). The Open Core Classic pups are pretty nice too, different than I'm used to, but it's not hard to pull very good and useable tones out of them. The push/pull tone pot switches between Modern and PAF sounds. While I can kind of see that, it's more of a frequency response shift that actually is quite useful. I find it more useful than switching between the neck and bridge pickups. Modern gives me crystal clear definition for distored metal runs, and I can pull the pot for the PAF sound that adds just the right amount of "hair." I haven't messed with the single-coil voice, so I won't comment on it other than it's cool that it's there.Overall this a serious guitar. I purchased this with the intention of keeping it around the home studio and I have no doubt after spending some time with it I will have this guitar for a very long time to come.Eric
