Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Electric Bass Guitar For Sale (2024 Update)

I love this bass! The looks of the burst are stunning and the Jaguar body is so cool! I love having both types of pickups, very versatile. The thing that got me was the boost circuit. What should've been a way to get a little more OOMPH turned into a noisy nightmare, it never sounded quite right engaged or not, so I decided to open her up and tear the boost circuit out and replace the pot with the output jack. YES! What a difference! Who thought it was a good idea to put the jack on the edge of the body? Straight cables stick out and get whacked, right angled cables twist, it makes no sense to me. If you think the boost is just eh, DO LIKE ME. P pickup is awesome and punchy, jazz pickup is a little noisy. Planning to replace with a Seymour Duncan set.Dr. Scruggs

I bought one of these for my 14 year old son (now 15) to learn on. I've been playing bass for many years, and wanted him to have something of his own that would get him through the early stages (from never even picking one up; through lessons and beyond). I tried a good number of basses in this price range when shopping for him, and this one really is a nice bass. I have an American Standard Fender Jaguar bass, and while this isn't quite on that level, it's a nice bass it its own right. Having the Fender meant that I could try them side by side, and I can vouch for the workmanship on the Squier. I happily gigged a Squier CV for some time, so I don't buy into label snobbery. The one I got for him had a great set up, great neck, and quiet electronics. Highly recommended. I noticed in these reviews that some had poor set-ups from the factory. Just because a bass isn't set up properly doesn't mean it's a bad bass. With a good set up these things are wonderful.Tallbloke

This is a fantastic full-sized bass (be aware they make a short version usually with an SS designation and about $50 less). It has a C shape maple neck that just fits and feels perfect in your hand. The rosewood fretboard has 20 medium jumbo frets – you have to stretch those fingers out. The body is basswood which resonates nicely. Maybe the best thing about this bass is it comes with a split Single-Coil Precision bass pickup and a Single-Coil Jazz bass pickup. You can go for either the classic Fender P bass sound or the J Bass sound or use both for astonishing clarity. There is also active bass boost control, a master tone control, and separate volume levels for each set of pickups. The action is pretty low the only drawback being you'd better be precise on the upper frets to avoid a bit of buzz. You might could make some minor adjustment to avoid this, but if you are fretting it right, it isn't a problem. I'd highly recommend it for beginners, but I wouldn't be ashamed taking it to gigs either. It's a Squire made by Fender, but it isn't a Fender. It's made in Indonesia, not in California, but then that is why it doesn't cost so much. A Fender Precision or Jazz Bass can run 2 grand and a Dimension about $1400.I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 simply because it isn't a Fender. Fora Squire it's definitely a 5 star. This is a dream come true. I've been playing guitar for 50+ years and have always heard about Short Scale (SS) basses that were very well suited for guitarists who want to play bass. This is a great value. I got the Performer Pak that included the $39 gig bag for only $10 additional. What a Deal!! This bass plays great and the Jazz style control configuration is nice for blending the tone. I'll be keeping this one around. I really like this guitar. I purchased the Squier ss Jaguar because I'm a short scale addict and the price was right. I had to make the full gamut of usual adjustments out of the box, and the bass plays just fine now. Stock strings weren't my style; even with a string change and some height adjustment, it''s difficult to get a full sound out of the pickups. I had to really crank the mids on my amp to simultaneously get some definition and oomph. Still, I'll have a lot of fun breaking it in over the next month. I like the flamboyant silver finish and painted headstock; fretwork feels fine, and it sits comfortably (maybe the slightest bit of neck dive) with a wide leather strap. The bass didn't wow me as an instrument outperforming it's price range, but, with a sale price or coupon, it's a good short scale choice for a minimal budget.Michael

Only cure was to fuse all the joints so it wouldn't bend at all, and now the only thing it's good for is barre cords. I could still play lead and chords with a little practice, but a standard base was out of the question. The price was right so I thought I'd give one of these short scale jobs a try. Yeah, I know, the Squires have a bad rap with a lot of folk, but this is my third one (strat, tele) and for the price I haven't had much to complain about. For my very first bass, right out of the box, I was totally impressed. Plugged her in, tuned her up, and ran the scales all the way from the nut to the 17th fret with no fret buzz or water to wade in; set up was perfect. A little string squeak at first, but that soon disappeared. Tried every bass line I ever knew and had no trouble with only three fingers on my left hand. The controls on the guitar are rather limited, but with my amp (Fender rumble 15) and it's EQ and overdrive features I've got just about everything I need – 50's and 60's rock and country – and can throw in a little heavy metal if needed. I'm thinking that this baby would be perfect for a young persons first bass, or for anyone with short fingers or like me missing a finger, or arthritis, whatever. I am sure having a lot of fun with it. I work in a 11 x 11 foot room , so the strings needed a little damping – a couple of my grand daughters hair ties fixed that in no time. I own a fully modded Fender Telecast but I wasn't looking to spend fender money on a bass just yet. In the last few years Squire has really turned up the production, the bass has good weight, a very smooth and comfortable neck and fret board. Some people on here have talked about fret buzz, part of that has to do with how hard you play it, you'll get buzz on a full grown Pbass or a gibson Firebird if you play too hard, turn up the amp, turn down the fingers, lol. My only caveat, which I didn't count against my rating, is that the electronics are very introductory. The Pbass pickups are nice and fat, round and dynamic, but the Jazz pick up in the bridge leave more to be desired. Along those lines, the bass uses 250k pots. If you like the bass but want a little more, I found the replacement Seymour Duncan set online for 140 add 3 new 500k pots to that and you'll probably have ONE HECK OF A BASS. The saddles on Squier passes are pretty horrible, and brass saddles can have a huge effect on the tone. The neck feels pretty great. The nut is the same width as a Jazz Bass, but since the Jaguar is a short scale, it ends up being thinner overall. For someone who prefers the comfort of a Precision Bass neck compared to a Jazz Bass neck's playability, this could be considered a bad thing. Overall, this bass is a great deal. Overall, this is a good guitar. I'm having a good time with it, the neck is comfortable, the pickups sound really good and handle high-ish gain surprisingly well, and the color (I got the Daphne blue) looks incredible. Taken as a whole, if you're in the market for a Jazzmaster with all the classic JM features but don't have a ton of money to spend, I'd recommend it for sure. If you're going to buy it though, just be aware of a few things… 1.) It'll need a setup. Out of the box, the tuning stability was fine but once I used the vibrato a little bit, it went way out. The action wasn't bad but could be better and the neck may need a half degree shim. I'm probably going to end up putting a Fender AVRI vibrato on it eventually but a decent setup should make the stock one perfectly usable. 2.) It needs a good cleaning. This could very well just be the specific one that I got but the neck and headstock had a lot of dust and a slightly cloudy residue on them, the fretboard was very dry, and the frets were scratchy. None of these were anything that a little lemon oil, fretboard conditioner, a microfiber cloth, and some 0000 steel wool couldn't take care of but it's still something to be aware of. Note though that, while the frets were scratchy, their weren't any sharp fret ends. 3.) It probably isn't a great first guitar. I've seen this said a few times in other reviews and I completely agree. That's not to say that it isn't a good guitar because it is. More that it's not the most user-friendly instrument right away and could be off-putting to a beginner. A pro setup will do it a world of good and make it much easier to play but if you're in the market for a first guitar, look elsewhere. Am I glad I bought it? Yes. I mean, it's a Daphne blue Jazzmaster with a comfortable neck and awesome pickups! I don't mind working on my guitars a bit though, so none of the problems I talked about above bother me in particular. However, if you're looking for a plug-in-and-play guitar right out of the box, this one might not be for you.Jackson

I waiting on this on backordered for a few months (shell pink) and started to worry after looking at a bunch of YouTube reviews. Action, fret ends and leveling were great out of the box (which I really am not up for fixing; esp on a bound fingerboard). Frets could prob use a polish, but that's a lesser concern to me. No shim needed with 09s so far. I feel like recent shipments corrected some of the common complaints of this line… YMMV. I think the the nut is pinching a bit and the trem pivot is jumping a bit so I might go in and see if I can smooth it out. Pickups are microphonic under gains and comp… and I'm not sure if they are RWRP yet. One of the reason I went with MF is that if I wasn't satisfied I could go right into GC and trade towards and CV Jazzmaster. But overall pretty satisfied and think this will be a good first offset and short scale add to the collection.David

I want to love this guitar. Unfortunately however, I will have to be taking this one to a luthier to be set-up due to the neck. Everything for the most part is beautiful, it's a Jazzmaster. Fantastic dark, spanky jazzmaster tones, beautiful tortoise-shell guard, and the very eye-catching very elusive shell pink finish. Switches all seem to be in working order, though due to the position of the neck pickup to the strings right out of the box, the rhythm circuit will be noticeably quieter. Easy fix. I am unsure about the stability of the bridge, which is a Mustang bridge- a HUGE improvement, as I've seen in other reviews that the screwposts loosen by vibration. Vibrato does not return to tune. There is a very strange, unclean grime of some sort on the metal plate of the vibrato piece. I was unfortunate enough to receive a poorly conditioned neck, with glue residue left behind surrounding the tuning pegs on the face of the headstock. The lacquer finish is beautiful and is fine to play on. The fretboard is noticeably dry as well as the frets are unfinished, both feeling scratchy, and the frets being too rough to perform clean bends on. Not sure if it's the neck, the frets, or the bridge piece, or any of the three in combination that is causing the strings to be unable to bend even a half note without losing vibration, or being pinched off. Fret markers are a dark, cheap pearl. Overall, the fretboard itself just feels like Squier Affinity line quality. My impression is that most of the cost of this guitar- to keep it in line with the technologically cheaper instruments (telecaster the same price as a jazz, etc)- went into the body finish, and electronics. However, in the end I still love this thing and cannot wait to hear it sing once I get it set-up.Tyler

My experience- The fit and finish is great. I didn’t have any setup issues as I’ve read here. Sounds great. Everything was set up perfectly even matched the fender setup guidelines I looked up. I didn’t have to do anything other than some lemon oil on the fretboard, and I run flats so I put new strings on. Really impressed with the bass. The necks the same as a jazz but medium scale. Rolling off the tones and bridge pickup volume I’m in Motown mode, or crank the jazz bridge and you can get close to Jaco tone. Very versatile bass. I will probably put a hi mass bridge on and I like the stacked knobs but they have some rough feeling spots when turning them, I’ll probably upgrade those at some point with fender parts. Happy with the purchase and definitely recommend the bass and AMS to anyone.Chris

Very happy with my purchase only regretting that I haven't bought it earlier! Straight out of box was perfect. Well set up and playable. Packaged very well every detail is on spot! Sound-amazing punchy heavy sound even too many options for me. Variety of the sound is up on you cause knobs are fantastic (tone, volume controls) Feel / external – looks fantastic and any time can change pickguard to upgrade. The body and the neck not too heavy just acceptable and the neck smooth very confortable to play. Overall 5 stars from me!Arpad K.

Purchased the Fender Player Jazz bass. Overall great looks and sound, but some quality issues from the Fender Mexico factory (not Andertons' fault): – First bass had very clear weird uneven blemish under the varnish on the sunburst body. Not awful, but if I was in-store I would never have chosen that particular item. Returned and swapped by Andertons, no quibbles. Second bass arrived. Overall happy, sounds great, but still a few issues with quality control and design. – Control plate was missing 2 screws and was moving around – how does that get through Fender quality control? Replacement screws sent free of charge by Andertons. – Nut has not been slotted correctly – high G must have been passed through a machine and slipped, string is clearly a couple of mm too close to fretboard edge and you can see the failed first pass. Doesn't really affect playability, but is annoying and I will get it corrected at some point. Again, points to poor quality control. – Fretboard (Pau Ferro) is really thin – on the Player series, at least. Neck fret dot markers in white are half over the mid-dark fretboard, half over the light maple neck. Very hard to see in low light levels. OK, so they're just an indicator for position, but the design isn't great. So overall, the bass sounds great and Andertons service was very good. …and falls in love. Let me start by saying I actually have owned one other P-Bass. I had a 50s reissue Precision, but honestly the neck was just too thick for my liking after years of playing Jazz basses. Honestly, it felt thicker than the neck on my Yamaha 5-string. So, I picked this bass up after always dancing around getting what would be considered a more standard P-Bass. I have a 70s Jazz with a ton of modifications, I've had quite a few other brands of basses, but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I ordered this a few weeks ago, and have been very pleasantly surprised. The action was pretty good out of the box. I adjusted it a bit, made a few tiny tweaks to the intonation, and now it's super smooth. And, on the pickups, let me say it's a great sounding bass. Pickups are clear, bass sounds great. I play through a little Ampeg Micro cabinet. Earlier this week, I bought some Flats to throw on it (because that's what you do with a P-bass, right?) and now it's quickly becoming one of my favorite instruments to jam with. It really cuts through the mix when playing in a group. I see why folks really love the sound of a precision. My Jazz still has it's place, but man, I really like the sound of this bass. The Player P is a great value for what you get. I've never owned an older MIM, but I research the heck out of pretty much any purchase I make, and it looks like Fender really stepped it up with this rendition of their MIM Precision basses. Good tone out of the box, no discernible pickup noise, good action, a beautiful neck, and a Tidepool Blue finish that just shines and shines.Dennis F

As the headline says…it's very enjoyable to play. I've even made several recordings using it instead of my Fender USA Pro 2 Precision. It does a decent job on the P pickup; the J has lower output. To my surprise I'm really digging the "raw" feel of the neck; it's bare, tho sanded well. Another surprise: neck profile width and taper is like a J bass, yet the depth/shape feels more like a P! Huh!? Hey, works for me! With its black body and pickguard and the maple fingerboard it looks like it means BUSINESS! Point removed for the too-stiff tuner action. And then…I've managed to get the action very low, just where I like it. (FWIW, even on my USA Pro 2 I had to shim the neck to be able to get the level of low action that I prefer.) Yes, ladies n gentleman, I really appreciate this Affinity PJ. I am considering using it for punk and classic rock parts of the band's gigs; not out of the question at all!Leo

This bass looks, feels, and sounds great! Did they nail the bodywork and neck lines? No, not completely. But that's about as much as I've got for negatives. This is one of the best 5 string necks I've felt. Less pizza shaped than the EHB but almost that good. Could have been nice to see a heavier finish on the fretboard but the edges are rolled with no sharp frets at all – unlike my cv 70s P. Sound on this Destroys the EHB and my sr505. Can't say how road worthy the pots and tuners are but I don't want to change anything and mess with this mojo. Unless you need silent pickups and can live with the tradeoffs. I don't know what you would need other than maybe a beefier jack. Setup was mind blowing. Literally took it out of the box in store. Got home, string height was dialed, haven't checked intonation yet but sounds fine. Was hardly even out of tune. Strings feel quality, I will probably even hold off changing those. This bass is making a lot of basses look and sound like questionable decisions. If you are worried about durability, honesty, get a good hard case. This thing feels plenty solid. Make sure the tuners and string trees are greased up and jam away.Arturo

I got mine in Black body, black pickguard, maple neck with maple fingerboard, It came with good setup right out of the box, I like the headstock's face with large "Precision Bass" 70's style logo, with gloss tint on it. The maple neck is one piece neck. I have other Affinities basses but this one sounds terrific, a lot of growl sound on P pickups , I like the P sound but also the J pickup is welcome. I always like this combination: black on black with maple fingerboard. I recommend this bass, Squier is getting better and better with the years. The only complain with this is that the Jazz Pickup is less sounding than the P bass pickup, I needed to rise the Jazz pickup to get better output but not the same output than the Precision pickup.Garedot

The Squier Bronco Bass delivers exactly what I expected. It's a 30" scale bass with a body shaped like the Fender Mustang bass; it has a single pickup (I believe it's a strat pickup), is fairly light weight (mine weighs in a 7 pounds 10 ounces), and it's a fun little axe. It's also the lowest-priced bass by an actual musical instrument company. How do they keep the price down? One way is that this is the only bass I've owned that has no fingerboard. It doesn't affect anything, but the front of the neck IS the fingerboard. The hardware is okay quality. But here's the thing – it sounds decent, feels great, plays well. There's going to be a little luck of the draw in a lower priced instrument, but my tuners stay in tune, intonation was on, everything is good. There was a little too much neck relief, but that was easy to adjust. If you're realistic about your expectations, the Squier Bronco Bass is an awesome value, looks good, and it gets you playing. It's not going to sound like a Stingray or a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, but it doesn't sound bad, either – I would do a show with one without worrying about it. I have other basses, but wanted to add an inexpensive short scale to my stable, and this bass was exactly what I wanted. I may upgrade the pickup later – I may not. For now, it falls between my 34" scale and 28.6" scale basses, and it's fun to play. I'm very happy with it.Pcake

I ended up using this bass for songs where long scale can be a bit difficult. My main bass is an imported '54 P Bass copy, Alder body and maple neck/fingerboard. It had to go into a local shop for some major nut repair, and I needed something to play around with. Off the rack, it was a pretty great bass for the price. The neck is very well crafted, no sharp fret edges like some imported instruments. It's an agathis body, so the tone can be kind of bland, but compared to older Squier Broncos, it seems that all of the bridge and neck contact one piece of wood on the multi-piece construction, so sustain isn't too bad. The bad: The tuners are pretty sorry and are an oddball size, which makes replacement with good tuners very difficult. My E and A tuners rattle some, but all four do hold tune pretty well for cheap tuners. Also, the stock pickup is a six-pole ceramic Strat pickup, so it can sound…odd when bending strings. The other bad is the bridge: although it intonates pretty well, two saddles can make proper intonation difficult to achieve along with proper radius. Also, the bridge mounting pattern is almost impossible to replace with another bridge–four hole lock-down and quick-release style bridges DO work, but the bridge is mounted a little too far forward, and intonation is almost always sharp on the upper end of the fingerboard. Gotoh 201's are also very difficult to adapt to fit. But for its price point, some of these cons are easily fixed. I have a Mojotone Alnico V lipstick Strat pickup in mine with CTS 500K pots. It sounds excellent–it fools some of my buddies about how cheap it is. This bass could probably also benefit from a bar retainer near the nut. It went from an around the house beater to a mainstay for certain songs.Isher

my dad, a professional and extremely experienced bass guitarist, bought me this for christmas last year, and i love it. this is the first bass i've ever picked up and it's easy to play, is well built, has a nice feel to it, etc. i highly recommend it for beginners. i play it in my school band class and it fits in very well with the rest of the instruments. however it can fall out of tune easily and the pickup isn't the best, but ultimately it's the most perfect beginner bassout there, especially for the low price, it's high qualityace

Purchased this guitar thinking that I could cross a lot of musical boundaries. Installed new strings and allowed for substantial break-in but the limitations began to surface after attempting a second intonation and realized you get what you pay for. With even a Mexican Strat or tele the limitations are minimal and I have handily moved from ballads to jazz and raunchy rock. The Squier series would be fine in the mix with other instruments. Just dont expect a silk purse from a sow's ear. Not going to happen. I have heard of a lot of players buying better necks and switching them out. So that is one option and for a Jaguar today you are probably going to save 2-300.00 by going that route as opposed to moving up to the MIM Jag Special series which is in 900.00 range. Conclusion. This is a fine entry level guitar.Randall

For the price I think this is a pretty damn good guitar. It came nicely finished with no visible cosmetic issues. Set up well out of the box and accurately intonated. Plays well and sounds very Jaguar like – suitably bright and dark in the right places using the many switch combinations. Once tuned, perfectly playable out of the box. Of course it looks a beast too. The pickups seem qood quality. Machine heads are perfectly serviceable and it holds tune reasonably well for a guitar with a trem system that allows such deep dives. The frets are well finished, sufficiently level and not rough at the ends (although they could be always be better, if being really, really picky). 12th fret action was around 2mm (0.080") and comfortably playable (nut end is a slightly different matter, see below). Only negatives or areas that need attention are the strings, nut and bridge (all well known issues if you do a Google search). It comes with a very light set of 9s – from what I've read Fender originally intended Jaguars to have 11s, so that's what I've now fitted. The nut is cut conservatively high, particulalry on the heavier strings, so could do with some filing to make really super comfortable (not something the inexperienced should probably have a stab at without some research and the – expensive – correct tools). I replaced the nut with a Zero Glide zero fret system and the action is now very low and comfy. Not the easist or indeed the most difficult job (some skills and tools required) but the benefits are manifold – I like a zero fret anyway. The ('Mustang' style – no string jumping like the earlier type) bridge is designed to float back and forth when using the trem – that's fine and works OK but after (only) playing for a few hours I found it had sunk down on the height adjusting screws (i.e. the screws are effectivley loose and due to the vibrations wind themselves up over time) causing too low action, loss of tuning and string buzz. Once all set-up to my liking and at the correct height I applied a drop of loctite to the bottom of the threads to just stop them moving too freely. One other thing is that the neck PU doesn't seem to want to adjust up very much – not yet taken it apart to see why exactly that is or if even it supposed to be like that. Doesn't seem to affect the sound for now though. In summary: great value, good enough out of the box and with a little set-up/some mods or the attention of a luthier not that far off a 'real' Fender Jaguar, for a fraction of the price. I've had vintage semi/hollow bodys before and I like this slightly non-standard solid body. A good project for somebody who likes/wants to tinker and end up with a really good playing/sounding guitar at the end (but isn't too shabby to start with) and that doesn't look like yet another Tele, Strat or Les Paul.Mr D. Overall: Wow, I love this bass……From the moment I received this bass, it has been my go to axe. The pickups are excellent and very aggressive, yet keep that P bass type tone. Both pickups have proven to be very articulated in the mids and not to boomy in the lows. Just perfect for my taste. The highs are very clear but not too disjointed from the mids and lows. I use Rotosound 77 flatwounds. I did change the crappy bridge to a Hipshot Kickass bridge.Now, lets talk about the neck. I do agree that the neck is a little heavy but if you are sitting down, that should not be a problem. If you are standing up then you should be using a 3" wide strap. That rule goes for most Fender style basses. The neck is wide because it projects a P style tone that can only be accomplished by this thick neck type. If you pick up a 50's type P bass you will notice very quickly how thick the neck is, yet some bass players won't play anything else.Tone, sustain and playability. That is what you get with this bass. It's definitely not a bass for everyone but this bass is a kickass bass if you are comfortable with it.The frets were perfectly dressed and the fretboard had a nice finish. If you look at the shape of this Jaguar bass you will notice a lot of real estate in the slab of the body. This, along with this neck makes a perfect combination for sustain and presence which you can feel through your chess as you play it. The designers at Fender really know what they are doing.There is a reason why the Fender MIM basses are so popular.Sotero

I love the 24 inch scale, I feel like the 22nd fret in not necessary though on this short scale, the additional fret pushes the frets closer together and would makes some chords harder to pull off that need lots of fingers on the same fret. Luckily for me i have small hands and fingers so not an issue. I still love this guitar and plan to keep it forever.Justin

If it wasn't so beautiful looking and if it didn't sound so good I wouldn't have played it so much. Now I can't return it without significant restock fees and shipping. My opinion is that the guitar I received has a major problem. I haven't completely sorted it out but here it is: significant static pops come through the amp when I touch or rub a a place on the pickguard near the selector switch. My guess is there is either a bad solder joint or two wires pinched together. So I have to pack the thing off to a Fender repair shop for warranty work. I've owned many guitars both new and old and this is a first. Yes it is the lowest cost offset one can buy with the name Fender on the headstock. But I've several less expensive Squiers that were perfect. The quality of the components and the fit and finish of this guitar seem great. Now to get the static fixed. I had heard that MExican Fenders were very well made, not the electronics on this one.vinny71

I play at home and at church. It has that jazz bass sound that I love! The feeel of the neck is great. The highs are not overwhelming and the bottom end is not muddy. It is very responsive. I did have to adjust the neck slightly but that was big deal. If you want a great bass and are on a budget, then I recommend this bass.wadams2112

Bass came out of the box needing a minor trust rod adjustment, about 1/8 turn, and that was in. Perfectly intonated, action super low, NO and I repeat NO high frets, and zero fret sprout. Plays like a dream and sounds good. I may update the pick ups at some point down the road just because I prefer dimarzio. But these sound fine for stock. Why anyone would pay almost 3x as much for a Mexican J bass is beyond me. Oh, it doesn't say Fender… Also got it on sale for 279.00 a no brainier, Best buy of the year for my collection.MIKE

I picked up a Vintage Modified Jazz Bass in a music shop here in Laramie Wyoming, $100+ USD. ONE OF THE BEST BASSES I'VE EVER PLAYED AND OWNED! PROs: Vintage Fender tones, modern tones, bright and sparkly, dark and fat, punchy and mellow. Awesome looks, totally digging the combination of yellow natural wood texture, the black elements (binding, block inlays, etc ) and silver hardware. The finish is impeccable to my eyes and fingers. Affordable. Noiseless with both pickups open, very mild hum with just one pickup open. CONs: I regularly have to do truss rod adjustments because action seems to perceptibly vary with temperature. Somewhat neck heavy (balanced by the weight of my right hand resting with the thumb on the neck pickup). Had to file down the string grooves in the nut because the string height at the nut was noticeably higher than at the 1st fret. 18 mm string separation at the bridge feels too wide for me although it is not wide as the bass guitars go and I'm still thinking about whether to replace the bridge or get used to it.andbala-92

An unusual Jaguar but one of the best I've ever played. It's a mixer between the Johnny Marr and Kurt Cobain model, with a new twist of having a roasted maple neck with the new atomic pickups. Overall, its a great guitar that its worth the price!!jos_jdi_svddrbd1

fabulous guitar , I love the roasted maple neck and the 24 inch scale. The pickups are excellent . Overall the sound and feel of this guitar is 5 stars , Sometimes i think Squier builds them better than Fender.fuzz-tones
