I got this guitar on September 14th, 2021, and have had some minor issues with it. When I receive this guitar, it was perfect. Not a single case of fret buzz, the nut was perfect, and it was an all around great guitar. However, after about a month. I realized the tuners were a bit out of wack. I would be a bit flat, and turn the tuning peg over and over and over, only to not tighten the string at all. Then when I finally did one last turn, I'd be sharp by a whole note! Whatever, just replace the tuners. I had been putting that off. The next issue was a bit weird. I play really hard, and over time, the bridge pins were starting to get loose, and eventually a whole screw came out, and I had to take the guitar to a tech. I know this is probably user error, but still. I eventually just decided to turn it into a Jonny Greenwood tele, with lace sensors, a kill switch, and all. And let me tell you, this guitar is perfect now. The neck is (and always was) exactly what I was looking for. It's a bit thinner that my Squier Affinity Strat, but I like a thinner neck. Bottom line, I would recommend this guitar if your okay with getting new tuners. No one else I know has had problem with the bridge, so consider that. (P.S. I forgot to say that the stock pickups are amazing! I almost just kept them, they sound really good)Cory
As attested to by all the reviews on the Capri Orange MX Player Tele, it is a great playing guitar in its original factory form. However, I chose this guitar as the platform for Sweetwater to custom mod. In collusion with friend and Sales Engineer Jeff Jent, we determined the component upgrades of choice for the project. The oem wiring harness was replaced with the Emerson 4way switch Tele wiring harness. The additional switch position allows for the pups to play in series. The oem pups were replaced with Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele pups. All this modification under the hood was covered up by a Fender black pearloid moto pickguard. The oem string guide was replaced with the Fender American Standard string guide. The oem control plate and knobs were kept as was the oem bridge with box saddles. I prefer the 6 box saddles bridge to the 3 saddles bridge – just a personal choice. Upon receipt of the Tele, from my personal parts box I installed Fender all short post locking tuners and Fender locking strap buttons. Since the MX Player Tele doesn't come with either a case or gig bag, I had the guitar shipped in a new Fender Elite hard case. I provided Jeff with my preferred set-up specs by the numbers and he forwarded those to the guitar technician for the final modified product set-up. Guitar technician Brandon Harper did exemplary work in putting the mod guitar together and tech supervisor Marty Flaley verified the completed modifications "nailed" by Brandon. If you desire modifications on a new guitar, don't be hesitant to turn the Sweetwater guitar technicians loose on your vision project. The techs know their trade. But in full disclosure, modified guitars are non returnable so be sure of the modifications you desire. The standard Sweetwater warranty is in place though. All of these details can be gone over with your Sales Engineer to be certain, just in case I have misspoken the rules of engagement. Thanks to Brandon for his tech expertise and Marty for the oversight (prior to his promotion, Marty was my tech of choice for set-ups on new guitar purchases). Can't say enough about my excellent relationship with my Sales Engineer Jeff Jent. He knows his gear! If you don't have an assigned Sales Engineer, call Sweetwater and ask for Jeff. If you are ever on the Sweetwater campus, ask to personally meet your Sales Engineer and guitar tech. I've had that pleasure and glad to call them friends. OH, and what about the orange Tele? It feels, handles and plays great. It is on par with my Elite and Ultra Teles (except slightly less expensive) as a fine crafted guitar. If you have ever wanted to do a mod guitar, pick any platform and turn the guitar techs loose. My new Tele is a Sweetwater Custom Mod!
This is a really great deal. Unless you get lucky on Reverb or whatever you won't find a deal like this anywhere else. And let's face it–you need a Telecaster! It's as basic as a Stratocaster. Even more so. It's so versatile and has a bright (but not too bright) sound. It's HIGHLY customizable. The shape of the neck is very comfortable for both rhythm and lead play. I'd even go so far as to tell you to make this your kids' (or YOUR) first guitar. For one thing, it's a Fender. The build quality is rock solid. It's really designed to be a lifetime instrument. Cons–really just the shade of the neck itself. It's a little pale. But that's just me. Not only that, but later on you can purchase another Fender neck and just replace it. (It's easy.) Don't let this absolute steal for a real Fender Tele get away from you. You'll thank me.

I bought the Honey Burst because I didn't have a burst and honestly not a big fan of "bursts." But when I saw this honey, and it lacking a really dark edge like most bursts do I decided to play it. Sounded fantastic, played so sweetly, just as fine as my Miami Blue American Pro II, and my American Showcase. Don't spend the extra money on one of those if you're on a budget, tryin to save some money, but want USA made, this performer stacks right up with them, you won't be missing much if anything. Manufacturer Support: Did not contact manufacturer. Overall: I just got done demoing the floor model at my local big box store and I have to same I'm really impressed. For comparison, my main Strat is an American Special with three single coil Texas Special pickups and the new Yosemite pickups and the Doubletap humbucker have a lot more output. I used a floor model Boss Katana amp (distortion) as well as a Marshall amp (clean). The Doubletap humbucker sounds great with light to heavy distortion. Even with max distortion, it is very clear and pronounced and I was able to distinguish all the notes being played without it sounding muddy (first position and coil split off.) The second position (coil split off) sounds amazing. Even with heavy distortion, I was able to get some great sounding blues solos with the first and second position. With positions three, four and five, I was able to get those classic Strat tones that everyone loves. Going from humbucker to the single coil via coil split, the pickup still seemed to have a higher output than the Texas Specials. Just to make sure it wasn't the coil split, I also demoed the traditional three single coil setup and still, they seemed very hot. I played the opening riff and the solo to Paranoid and was very happy by the sounds the guitar made but the clean sounds are what really sold me. I played various chords (major, minor, 7th, different positions, coil split on/off, etc.) and was not disappointed at all by what I heard. To me, it sounds very different from any other Strat I've played. I use my current Strat as an all round guitar but that's soon to change. The finish is satin and for those who haven't played a guitar with a satin finish, the finish may feel a little rough as if it needs to be sanded but it doesn't. I prefer a gloss finish myself but that aspect can be easily overlooked if you want an amazing sounding guitar.Russell
Tim Shaw double tap humbucker with yosemite pickups great combo! Covers a wide range. The humbucker in the bridge gives you that fat extra distortion. And when you want that single coil sound pull up on the tone knob and split the coils. Well balanced. Plus you can still get that Sweet Home Alabama sound in position 2 with the HB in single coil mode ! Yosemite Pu's have classic Strat tone in clean channel. The rosewood neck plays and feels good. I bought this guitar as a mod platform. As such, some of its stock faults, while present, simply don't matter. Top to bottom: Tuners suck, swapped them within hours. Nut is plastic, will replace with my first GraphTech nut. Neck is very thin, very nice. Frets are a mixed bag, as they may need very little leveling or polishing, but the fret ends are the sharpest I've ever seen! Pickups sound surprisingly good, though I'm only barely tempted to keep them. Bridge is maybe okay, swapped it first thing. I should mention that the stock bridge was decked. This is no problem with an old campaigner like me, but a beginner would have frustrating problems with it. This is my first guitar with a conical ("compound") fretboard radius! Never knew it could feel this good! If you're buying one for a rank beginner, either set aside money for a good setup or find your newb some good lessons in maintenance on YouTube.Edwin
Great guitar for under $200 , got this for reduced price because of very faint blemish on the back of the body. This is my second Jackson , also have the Rhoads JS32 V. Been wanting this one for a while , it sounds and plays great. The tuners are fine and I lowered the action to my liking and have no fret buzz , none on my other Jackson either. These are solid guitars and build is great for the price , they're comfortable to play especially with the thin necks. They come pretty well set-up right out of the box unlike others in the same price range , the JS22 is right up there with some of my more expensive guitars , great tone and sustain. I play for a hobby and have several guitars and this is up there with my Schecter and Ibanez , this is a great guitar for a beginner or experienced player and also a nice addition to your collection. I've bought other guitars in this price range that were a mess and needed a complete set-up , for the price you can't go wrong with Jackson!Mike G.
Overall: This guitar is a real sleeper. The neck is just so nice to play really amazing and it balances really well. I have two of them when I get them I just rip out the electronics and put all new stuff. They play great out of the box though and you could use to pick up some electronics that are in them until you decide to get better stuff. The fundamentals of the guitar are almost perfect something about the angled headstock make it so the strings have just the right amount of tension on them and it plays great. The downside of this is that it doesn't come back into tune as well as a strat style headstock but since I don't use the tremolo much or even at all sometimes this doesn't bother me. I love the caramelized Maple neck it has a great feel to it the other one I have is rosewood and it's also awesome.John

I purchased this Dean ML based on my appreciation for Dime and simply because teenage me committed to owning one someday. I found a pic that I took with Dime which reminded me of being in the front row watching him jam away on his Dime Slime years ago. For me, this purchase was primarily motivated by nostalgia, expecting build quality to be sort of, ok. I have to say, this guitar exceeded my expectations. Slight disclaimer: I purchased this item knowing I would immediately upgrade most of the hardware and adjust things to make it more comfortable for my playing. 1) It is a fantastic base instrument. It plays fairly well as sold. This was my first experience with a Floyd Rose Special. Also, it will definitely be my last. I played it stock for about 2 weeks to get a good feel for it before changing anything. It’s a great playing guitar. 2) Every review I saw said that the finish was amazing and pictures just couldn’t do it justice. I agree. They did a great job on the neck and body of this guitar. It’s flawless. 3) Everything was to spec on mine. Action, truss rod, intonation, fret, bridge and pickup height, all perfect. My fretboard had a somewhat excessive amount of dye on it but nothing too crazy. The nut on mine was clearly cut too deep leaving the high e in permanent sitar mode with fret buzz. So, quality control could be an issue. For my needs this wasn’t a problem as I had already decided on replacing virtually all hardware with new parts that I had on hand from a project that I decided not to restore. 4) The pickups sound great. The Dime Slime nailed the Pantera tones, not surprising. I was surprised by the classic/southern rock and soloist tones I was able to get with minor eq adjustments. Clear and warm through the drive/distortion. It does jazz and country pretty well too. It has a very balanced sound to it which I was not expecting. Overall: I'm no stranger to the scratch and dent game. I think half the fun is trying to figure out where the scratch and or dent is. When this model V came out I already knew that it would be a great guitar. Never played a Dean I didn't like. This model is a steal even at full price. Mahogony body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Floyd and hot pickups. Actually, very hot pickups. My guitar has a bright sizzle to it in the bridge pickup and the neck pickup sounds great. Pretty balanced out put. The bridge is a Floyd Rose Lic. Stays in tune well. The fretboard is high quality. No fretsprout to speak of. Intonation is good, stays in tune and no high frets to speak of. The profile is the C shape. Similar to a 50s Lp just a tad thinner. The flat black finish is awesome the blem is only a slight discoloration on a portion of the binding. What that tells me is that the regular price model will be no doubt flawless. If you want that grind, metal, searing flamethrower sound the bolt on is the way to go. Bolt on necks are usually a little brighter. Sustains very well. I'm very very happy with it. It is exactly what it is advertised as. Buy one. You'll love it. Getting the ML X Floyd next. No doubt due to my own preference I will be swapping out the bridge pickup only. All my main guitars have Seymour Duncan TB and SH 6 bridge pickups. Great guitar for nodding to tour own preferences. You'd be doing killer as is too. I'm in no hurry to swap pickups. Great buy.

I like Wilco, the Pixies, the Smiths, Stone Roses, Courtney Barnett, etc. So when I saw Ryan Adams rocking a V by that other manufacturer that starts with G, I started thinking about the V body style. I liked this model because it was at the right price point and had the tradition V body style, if you don't think too much about the headstock. This guitar probably hasn't gotten any love because I don't see it as your typical Dime type guitar, and its not your typical vintage Flying V. The pickups are not high enough gain to get love from the shredders and the Headstock probably turns some people off. What I found is a pretty great guitar with some help. First, the action was high. I lowered the bridge significantly. The good news is that the frets are good I didn't run into any buzziness after lowering the action a little lower than I thought I could get away with. Next, the pickups needed adjustment. They were pretty low. I brought them up a little and found that the sound filled out and got chimey like it should. I adjusted the pole pieces to match the fretboard radius and viola! Most of these guitars have good pickups and don't need an immediate change. Folks, you need to learn how to properly adjust your guitar pickups! Then figure out if you need something different. PS adjust these pickups on a clean channel, you need to hear the guitar not distortion. Long story short, this is a great guitar. It shouldn't be your main axe, but its a great conversation piece that sounds better than it should. I feel like I discovered a diamond in the rough. P.S. Never played a seven before (20+ guitar owner) and actually was looking more towards a 6-baritone. But cripes, the sale price and hearing about how nice Jackson was making stuff…? Pulled the trigger. Still not too sure what the heck I am doing, but having a great time with it. Maybe I AM a nu-metal head after all. Regardless, it is fun to play. I was amazed that the fret ends weren't garbage, the they needed a bit of a polish, but were otherwise really nice. With the specs like carved top, compound radius, neck reinforcement (I think?), and maple board, the value is incredible. I'm a sucker for maple board too, really wish I wasn't, but I am and this thing is cool. Am I gonna play it all the time? No. But I might play it every day for a bit. Was really impressed with the pickups as well. Figured it would be a mud bath. Maybe the B gets more lost than I was expecting, but was way more articulate overall that I was expecting. I am assuming ceramics, and zero hangups about that. Cons: The tuning machines are poop. If you change direction, expect a 1/4 turn before anything moves. I mean they are pretty poor. And since it is a seven string, that is a touch more complicated to replace.Josh G
Got this guitar to get back into shredding again. Hadn't played metal since the early 90s and shredding is a good way to keep the arthritis from destroying the joints in my fingers and wrists. For the money, this is an overall great guitar. It does what I want it to and that's what matters. The only real gripe I have is the tuners. This is a guitar I can do a lot of mods on and not worry about lowering the value. For those who are beginners, this guitar is an excellent choice to get started on. For those who want to get into shredding – or get back into it as I am – you can do so without breaking the bank. This instrument is not on par with an American made Fender or Gibson but it will most certainly do the job it's designed to. A great buy!Chris S.
The Jackson JS22 Dinky is the best Sounding, and the best feeling guitar I own. I have used Washburn, Schecter, and a few more brands, but this one felt and sounded the best in my opinion. It has sharkfin inlays, amaranth fretboard, and the Jackson speed neck. My only complaints is that the stock tuners suck, and the pickups could be better, but still good enough for some Slayer songs. But get locking tuners. I will see if I can get some Seymour Duncan Invaders, or EMG H4 Pickups.Kawliga

I purchased this Dean ML based on my appreciation for Dime and simply because teenage me committed to owning one someday. I found a pic that I took with Dime which reminded me of being in the front row watching him jam away on his Dime Slime years ago. Slight disclaimer: I purchased this item knowing I would immediately upgrade most of the hardware and adjust things to make it more comfortable for my playing. 1) It is a fantastic base instrument. I played it stock for about 2 weeks to get a good feel for it before changing anything. It’s flawless. 3) Everything was to spec on mine. Action, truss rod, intonation, fret, bridge and pickup height, all perfect. My fretboard had a somewhat excessive amount of dye on it but nothing too crazy. The nut on mine was clearly cut too deep leaving the high e in permanent sitar mode with fret buzz. So, quality control could be an issue. Overall: I've always thought these looked cool with their single tiled bridge humbucker, so I picked one up. I am surprised this thing was only $180 before tax. It is made in Indonesia and it must have been made by one of the good workshops over there, because as simple as this guitar is, the fit and finish is amazing. The tuning machines are good quality, move very freely but also hold tune very well. The mahogany body is very solid, the black gloss finish on the body is free of blemishes and is very even and consistent. The finish on the back of the neck is very sleek feeling under my thumb. The fretwork is flawless. All the frets on mine are level and crowned properly. The ends are filed to prefection, absolutely zero sharp fret ends. The nut is a black plastic nut, so nothing fancy there, but it is filed to a perfect depth and the slots hug the strings nicely. I can't exactly speak to the quality of the tremolo bridge as I don't really make use of them, but it seems good and stays in tune (though I don't use it so I can't speak to how well it holds tune if you use it a lot). I'm not sure of the output of the alnico 5 humbucker but it sounds great and the tilted angle does indeeed seem to lend it a bit more bass than a normal bridge pickup, but without making it sound muddy. This guitar has me wondering why people buy something like a Rogue as a "beginner" guitar for a kid when you could get something like this for the same price or cheaper that is of much higher build quality and looks much cooler in my opinion. Best sub-$200 new guitar I've ever gotten hands down.
This has got to be the most value I've ever seen in a budget instrument. Out of the box it was set up good. Finish was perfect. I purchased the ruby red version. Stock pick up is aggressive and hot. Tremolo works as it should. Although I ain't a big user of them I can dive like EVH does on the first record with this thing and it comes back up in tune. Many people prefer something better but this works perfect for me. The only flaws I could find was one of the drill holes on the back plate was not lined up correct and a screw fell out. Not a big thing because I have take. It off for access to the springs and to change strings. The hardware is not the best. The screws on the claw stripped a little when I was taking it out for whammy use. Over all a very enjoyable guitar. Incredibly hot sounding and fast. The look is great too. I don't plan on upgrading anything just yet. Many buyers of this do hot rod them and that's also a very cool thing. Maybe in the future I'll consider some upgrades but stock is fine. I'd trust it on a stage no problem. Get them before they all go! There's a reason why very little of them are on the used market. For this price you cannot go wrong! Overall: Just got my Baretta Special guitar in black and all I can say is "Your kidding Me". I have played guitar for 50 years and have gone through so many brands, models of top name and bargain types of guitars. I have overpaid for some and gotten good deals on others. I mod guitars all the time to my taste. This guitar out of the box was intonated, perfect action, fit and finish top notch. Tuners are fine, neck is thin and fast. Best deal I have had in years, can't stop playing it! Hard to believe this is my 1st Kramer after so many years.

This is a gorgeous instrument, hands down. I love the Burled Top, I love the Satin finish, I love the shape and feel of the body. The cut-away on the lower horn is MASSIVE, and on top of that, the backside of the cut-away is rounded off so you can reach even higher. Absolutely no trouble reaching the highest frets on any string. I was pleased to find that the Floyd Rose tremolo felt exactly the same as a 6-string Floyd Rose would feel. Not overly stiff and flutters just how I wanted it to. For $1300-1400 it's not a bad instrument, but it's pretty low tech compared to the other stuff you could be getting with these features. No Luminlay Side Dots, no locking strap buttons, a slightly lower end Floyd Rose tremolo. I have returned this instrument, as much as it pains me, it didn't have a place in my collection of guitars. It would have just been a glorified wall ornament for me. Here are a couple of issues that I had with it, and some of these may be a problem for me but not anyone else. The higher string tuners often seemed completely unresponsive, requiring a 1/4 turn before they even start registering a pitch change. This may not be a big issue considering it has a locking nut and micro-tuners on the Floyd. In the end, it's not a big deal, but I felt it should be pointed out. Whenever I flutter the tremolo, the Tremolo Arm rattles in its socket, no matter how tightly I secure it. There's always a little bit of play in it. The tremolo flutters perfectly, but if you're playing unplugged, the rattle gets to be very annoying. Not to mention, the rattle is close enough to the pickups, that you may actually be able to hear it through your amplifier/speakers. I'm assuming this is an issue with this particular Floyd Rose 1000 series and not the guitar or manufacturer. I'm out of room for comments. Out of the box it is a very attractive piece but getting it to tune is impossible. The neck bends, the springs flex, the upper point shape digs into your arm, the machine heads don't fine-tune and wont hold. The volume knob is too close to the playing area causing sudden volume changes when it's bumped while playing, the frets are too high causing the strings to bend when making even the simplest of chords causing a de-tuned sound, the Floyd Rose mechanism is made of too light and flimsy springs and machine parts to be stable. Thirty seconds of hearing this thing play would make anybody switch the station. Otherwise it is very attractive and has a nice gloss finish. The intonation is a joke. I tried everything – relocating the neck, locking the Floyd solid, hours of work . It did improve slightly but the neck bends while tuning making it impossible to get anything other than a noise maker and something you could hang on your wall for show. Since I made so many modifications in an attempt to make the thing even usable I now am unable to return it. I might be able to use the pots for another project but the rest of it is junk. I would try and get the seller to buy it back but even I wouldn't want it back so I'm sure they wont accept it. After I re-work a guitar it usually worth several thousand dollars. I spent the equivalent of $5,000.00 worth of labor on this thing and it is still worthless.
The Mahogany body and maple neck through construction is enough for the price alone. On top of that you get Duncan Designed HB 103's which are some of the best passive pickups on the market. Next you get gold floyd rose hardware on a beautifully finished guitar. The binding and craftsmanship were excellent. All I had to do was ser the intonation. The tuners are fine except a little tight on a couple of them. Other than that, it is a flawless instrument. The only thing I might upgrade are the zinc alloy string blocks on the fr bridge but I like the way they sound for now. Just not sure if they will strip later on as zinc is a softer metal. The feel, tone and sustain is exceptional. This guitar produces the most brutal tones and I would put it up against a USA made model any day. Being made in Indonesia did not hurt the quality one bit. This is a great guitar, overall, especially for the price. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncans, as I am partial to them…but the stock pickups are really pretty good. I will say that I was very disappointed, when I changed the pickups, to find that I had to replace the locking nut, as one of the bolt holes was stripped and I could not lock the E & A strings down. Thanks be to God, I have several extra ones on hand…but most people don't… But, having replaced the nut, and given the frets a light sanding and polish, and oiled the neck…this guitar looks and plays great! As well as any high end guitar… I also love the Jackson Floyd Rose bridges. They are great quality, and they do everything that an expensive tremolo bridge does. The bar fits tightly, it always floats right back in tune, no matter how hard you abuse it…you can do flutters, dive bombs, etc…a very good bridge in my opinion. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone who is looking for a versatile guitar (but mostly metal), and doesn't want to spend $800 on a pro series. It's hard for me to write a review, because I'm just such a rank beginner. I'm a retiree who just decided to finally learn to play the guitar. More than one expert said an electric is easier to play for a beginner. Many praised the Yamaha Pacifica series, and compared the 311h favorably to the 611. The price at Kraft Music was unbeatable for a new guitar with stand, a soft case, a tuner (which works well), a DVD (which I really haven't got into all that much–there's a bunch of stuff on YouTube to check out), pics, strap, etc. I think it's beautiful, and everything is working well so far–except for my fingers. But I didn't even know how to work the tuner when I first got it. I bought a cheap amplifier (Crate 10 amp, for under $40–which I also recommend), and now, a month later, I can play a few chords. I'm satisfied. Now, it's up to me, not the equipment. You have to bear in mind, I've never touched another electric guitar, so you can take this with a grain of salt.denyarcur
stumbled across this model during a road trip,knew i had to have it. the neck is flawless and snappy low action. play the neck soapbox open G with a steel slide it is just simply brutal clean or crunchy. the bridge humbucker is outstanding with coil tap too. i need another for standard tuning. i own a 1990 pacifica 921 as well and no you cannot have it not for sale! if you've not played yamaha you owe it to yourself and your wallet to have a go. best instruments for your $$$ out there.cainitus

I always liked the Ibanez instruments and products. This guitar for the money has a great sound, is light and small, very practical for people with small hands, or for children. Playability is nice, the pickups are good, hardware is good. It's versatile also for all types of genre's. Ideal for rock and metal, shreds real nice. If you're looking for a good but inexpensive guitar, this one is a good purchase. It's not only for beginners, it's for all level players.John
Classic Ibanez body shape, neck, tuners and lightweight, like a scaled down Soundgear (SGR) series only sans the unnecessary active bass junk. Knobs are solid metal, not cheap plastic ones found on other low end Ibanez basses. Only thing bass needed out of box was intonation set. No neck adjustments needed and no significant buzz. Strings are round wound (my pref). Would not recommend this bass if you think you need (tone killing) flat wound. I'm not aware of anyone making flatwound strings for a 28.6" scale bass. Note: scale length of this bass (28.6") is shorter than typical short scale (30"). The strings on it are proprietary (Ibanez). You might be able to make some cut down long scale strings work (pain, wouldn't recommend) but the proprietary Ibanez strings are the way to go. MF doesn't sell them for some reason. You can find them online for a very reasonable price online. Buy a couple of extra sets. Pickups are jazz bass style and config (two volumes + one tone) which is my pref. I had zero issues with tone or volume controls. Pickups are all passive. Yah! And tone sounds great, classic jazz bass tones available including a nice Jaco-ish tone with 100% bridge pickup and tone rolled way down. Be wary of review comments from guitar players that don't play bass and buy this bass and suddenly have a lot of opinions about what this bass should and shouldn't be. This bass does not need the bridge, pickups, tuners or electronics replaced to make it a "pro" instrument. All this bass needs to be a "pro" instrument, is a "pro" player playing it. Tone is in your fingers. I highly recommend for beginners and I think experienced players will dig it as well, especially those that appreciate shorter scale instruments.mark5211
Overall: We bought two of the Mikro guitars. A GRGM21 and a P.Gilbert Model. We expected at this price that some changes would be needed; and we were right. The nut has to be replaced. The original has so much wrong with it that I really don't want to type a paragraph explaining. It's made of bad material and you will never get to tune without replacing it. Consider the nut a "model" and there should be instructions with the guitar saying to replace it soon as poosible. There's gonna be some buzz from some high frets but that was an easy fix. There a a couple tricks to getting the intonation right but it can be done. (hint: move the saddles all the way forward) Hope this helped.

Received my Olympic white lead iii a few days ago, tuned and tweaked a bit and fired it up. I play direct into a Bose L1 model ii with boss me 70 and speaker emulation. I do this because at our church we play direct in so that’s my set up. This guitar sounded very nice but a tad thin so I changed out the strings to fender 10’s and wow! This little beast came to life! Very nice almost vintage tone and beautiful resonance with the alder body. Not really a coil split fan but has a nice Tele/Strat quack to it. At this price point you can not go wrong. GET ONE, GET ONE NOW!
The guitar came in faster than expected. The service at Sam Ash was excellent, and the salesman was very helpful with putting my order together. After unboxing, I looked the guitar over closely before plugging to my amp. The fit and finish was flawless. The neck relief, string action, and pickup height were spot on. Then I plugged in and cranked up. This guitar comes with Player Strat pickups, and Player Strat neck. And it flat out Rocks. Everyone says the Korean guitars are so good for the money. But these Mexican made Fenders are every bit as good. Personally, I'd rather have a guitar made in the American continent than one made in Asia. Good job Fender. And Kudos to Sam Ash.michael

What a wonderful instrument! I have had this guitar for a few weeks now and been addicted to playing it. This guitar plays like something in the $350-$500 range. The build quality is really good. I do find that the 3 way pick up selector is a little wobbly but it hasn't been an issue for me so far. The Tone/Volume pots have a smooth action and they look nice to boot. The neck is super comfortable and a joy to play. The pickups sound awesome. I bought the Baltic Metal Blue version and it was a little darker in person than the images show so keep that in mind if you are looking at that specific model. Overall I really don't have any major complaints with this guitar. For $199.99 you can't beat it. This would make an excellent first guitar if you are learning, which is what I did. The thin neck will make learning easier as well.
Overall: First impression:Out of the box, this thing is downright beautiful. The Candy Apple Red just shines in the light without a flaw on it. In my personal opinion, it's the only one that the Tortoise Shell pickguard really works on and that's why I picked the color. Not disappointed. The Pao Ferro fretboard is gorgeous.I had the same Elite pickups in an old GAX 70 that got destroyed and the great sound out of them didn't catch me off guard, but the quality of the tuners did. They're smooth, just tight enough, and not catchy or jumpy at all. I actually get to keep a stock set for a while. I learned how to tie a "locking knot", so no need to replace them.The switches and knobs feel good, too. Nice and clicky switch, and smooth turns from the pots. The balance and feel are extremely nice, and the neck profile is just butter.I can't really say a bad thing about this guitar as it sits right out of the box, and then when I remember that it was only $199 it just blows my mind. Overall: My first electric guitar so not much to compare it to but I feel like it's heavy. But it's so pretty :-)! Also the frets are a bit Sharp on the outsides this parts where the finish doesn't completely cover the surface. A big reason why I got an Ibanez was because of an ex-boyfriend getting one some years back and he was in love with it. A big part of that was because of the awesome sweatshirt and three picks that came with it. He must have bought from someone else or Ibanez just isn't with it anymore but it would have been nice to have any kind of accessory, even a thank you card. Did I say it was beautiful guitar though! Also it doesn't stay in tune for s***. But it is really pretty.

I was disappointed in this guitar. Having owned many Yamaha acoustics over the past 25 years, I found the quality to be lacking. The tuners were cheap, the intonation was bad, and the sound was very boxy. Even at the £330 sale price, it felt like a toy guitar. I was looking for something smaller than my FG5 and LJ16 to use on a casual basis and travel about. This did not fit the bill.Matthew H.
My ability to stretch my hand to finger chords is severely limited by dupuytren's contracture (google it for some depressing light reading). I hadn't owned an acoustic for five years as a result. I got the itch to own one again, and when I saw 23.5 inch scale, (excellent) gigbag included at this price, I went for it. And I'm glad I did. While the sound is not huge, it is good and the feel, fit and finish are outstanding. It has inspired me to play a lot more than I was playing, which was already over two hours a day. And that's really the best compliment that you can pay a guitar, isn't it?Jaye
I was excited to. receive this guitar having tried a showroom model. I have been playing it fir two weeks and have the food further examination llowing observation .1 batteries do not lasting (a week for me ). setup looked good a felt good to play except for a buzz on the g string. I noticed that 12th fret appeared higher. I know this is removable and would ask what I should do as it is under warrranty. but I am disappointed ate the thought of the hassle I nw have to get it fixed. over to you pmt ….P C.

Sound: Amazing. No cap. This guitar sings. Features: Roasted flame maple neck looks and feels dreamy. Ease of Use: You would he hard pressed to make a bad sound on this guitar. Quality: EBMM leads the industry in quality, fit, and finish. This is no exception. Value: I’ve never played a better guitar at any price point. The Wow Factor: I would rate this 11 out of 10. Overall: May be the best guitar in production. The new pickups are absolutely beautiful, and good for everything but the most extreme styles. I’ve never played a guitar that sounded so nice. I can put it on the neck pickup clean and fire up the boost, and it sounds like a jazz box. The bridge is the only bridge pickup I’ve ever really liked. It clear and dynamic, but no harshness. The guitar is super comfortable to boot. I was really worried I might not like the v neck, but somehow it fits like a glove. Probably the best feeling neck I’ve ever felt. To top everything off…. It was set up perfectly, and in tune in the box.Jonathan
I've had this guitar a few months now and it is a really good guitar. It is manufactured with quality in mind. There were no blemishes or quality issues when it arrived. It does come with Ernie Ball strings, which I have never been a fan of. I changed the strings right away. It is pretty lightweight (especially when compared to a Les Paul) and really does come across as a LP/Strat hybrid. There is a five or six position switch for the different pickup configurations, but I really only care for two fo them. I guess that would be dependent on what style of music you are playing. One knock that I have is that when using the tremolo, it does tend to go out of tune a bit. I don't use tremolo much, so I can live with that. The neck plays really fast and it is a great looker. Ernie Ball doesn't have a custom shop, but their guitars can compete with any brand out there. You won't be disappointed.Terry S

We now have 3 Sawtooth guitars. We are extremely pleased with all of them. We have an acoustic, electric, and now this beginner's electric guitar pack. Our youngest son won't put this guitar down. The black is a cool see through gloss. You can see the wood grain through the gloss finish. The guitar is of good quality. Much better than I thought it would be.The amp is portable, and can be used for headphones. Take note, that this is an amp that takes batteries (9 volt), or you can get an adapter for it. Did not receive all items that was displayed with this package ( missing was Gig soft case bag ) one of the reasons why I chose this package, my grand son was disappointed. I purchased this Dean ML based on my appreciation for Dime and simply because teenage me committed to owning one someday. I found a pic that I took with Dime which reminded me of being in the front row watching him jam away on his Dime Slime years ago. For me, this purchase was primarily motivated by nostalgia, expecting build quality to be sort of, ok. I have to say, this guitar exceeded my expectations. Slight disclaimer: I purchased this item knowing I would immediately upgrade most of the hardware and adjust things to make it more comfortable for my playing. 1) It is a fantastic base instrument. It plays fairly well as sold. This was my first experience with a Floyd Rose Special. Also, it will definitely be my last. I played it stock for about 2 weeks to get a good feel for it before changing anything. It’s a great playing guitar. 2) Every review I saw said that the finish was amazing and pictures just couldn’t do it justice. I agree. They did a great job on the neck and body of this guitar. It’s flawless. 3) Everything was to spec on mine. Action, truss rod, intonation, fret, bridge and pickup height, all perfect. My fretboard had a somewhat excessive amount of dye on it but nothing too crazy. The nut on mine was clearly cut too deep leaving the high e in permanent sitar mode with fret buzz. So, quality control could be an issue. For my needs this wasn’t a problem as I had already decided on replacing virtually all hardware with new parts that I had on hand from a project that I decided not to restore. 4) The pickups sound great. The Dime Slime nailed the Pantera tones, not surprising. I was surprised by the classic/southern rock and soloist tones I was able to get with minor eq adjustments. Clear and warm through the drive/distortion. It does jazz and country pretty well too. It has a very balanced sound to it which I was not expecting. I’ve played it on three different amps with the same results. Great. This is a great buy. A solid guitar as is. However, in my case, this guitar didn’t really come to life until I did what I did: OFR Hot Rod, brass block,springs, some shielding, etc. Now, what really irritates me is that it plays a lot better than a few of my guitars that were either at or almost double the cost of the Dime Slime. Overall: I'm no stranger to the scratch and dent game. I think half the fun is trying to figure out where the scratch and or dent is. When this model V came out I already knew that it would be a great guitar. Never played a Dean I didn't like. This model is a steal even at full price. Mahogony body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Floyd and hot pickups. Actually, very hot pickups. My guitar has a bright sizzle to it in the bridge pickup and the neck pickup sounds great. Pretty balanced out put. The bridge is a Floyd Rose Lic. Stays in tune well. The fretboard is high quality. No fretsprout to speak of. Intonation is good, stays in tune and no high frets to speak of. The profile is the C shape. Similar to a 50s Lp just a tad thinner. The flat black finish is awesome the blem is only a slight discoloration on a portion of the binding. What that tells me is that the regular price model will be no doubt flawless. If you want that grind, metal, searing flamethrower sound the bolt on is the way to go. Bolt on necks are usually a little brighter. Sustains very well. I'm very very happy with it. It is exactly what it is advertised as. Buy one. You'll love it. Getting the ML X Floyd next. No doubt due to my own preference I will be swapping out the bridge pickup only. All my main guitars have Seymour Duncan TB and SH 6 bridge pickups. Great guitar for nodding to tour own preferences. You'd be doing killer as is too. I'm in no hurry to swap pickups. Great buy.
Not a V type of player. I like Wilco, the Pixies, the Smiths, Stone Roses, Courtney Barnett, etc. So when I saw Ryan Adams rocking a V by that other manufacturer that starts with G, I started thinking about the V body style. I liked this model because it was at the right price point and had the tradition V body style, if you don't think too much about the headstock. This guitar probably hasn't gotten any love because I don't see it as your typical Dime type guitar, and its not your typical vintage Flying V. The pickups are not high enough gain to get love from the shredders and the Headstock probably turns some people off. What I found is a pretty great guitar with some help. First, the action was high. I lowered the bridge significantly. The good news is that the frets are good I didn't run into any buzziness after lowering the action a little lower than I thought I could get away with. Next, the pickups needed adjustment. They were pretty low. I brought them up a little and found that the sound filled out and got chimey like it should. I adjusted the pole pieces to match the fretboard radius and viola! Most of these guitars have good pickups and don't need an immediate change. Folks, you need to learn how to properly adjust your guitar pickups! Then figure out if you need something different. PS adjust these pickups on a clean channel, you need to hear the guitar not distortion. Long story short, this is a great guitar. It shouldn't be your main axe, but its a great conversation piece that sounds better than it should. I feel like I discovered a diamond in the rough. P.S. The guitar is really light and comfortable to play with a strap.Fred
