1. Skb 1skb-Scfs6 Universal Shaped Electric Guitar Soft Case

Reviews:
This is my go to bag all the time for transporting my basses to church where I play every Sunday. Absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Securely holds my basses and room enough in the strap pocket for wide custom straps with a wireless pouch attached. Plenty of storage for the other items that you need, iPad, etc. have owned it now for four years at least. Would buy it again. It's a workhorse of a bag.Fred
excellent case (it's not really a gig bag, but better). Light weight, fits my Schecter C4 bass like a glove. Looks great. easy carry. Good assembly, good sewing. Wish they woulda used better zippers, they catch and hang. I've lubed them with silicone spray so i hope they last. If the main zipper fails I don't know how i'll keep it shut, there's not an altermate method for closing. they should have provided a few snap overs straps in case zipper jams. could be bungee cords in my future to strap it shut, but i'm hoping for the best. woulda given 5 stars except for the zippers.blues player
I purchased this case for a 90's Jackson Rhoads EX. And fits perfectly. The case is definitely well padded, and may be as big as the hard shell case version. I purchased it more for storage purposes and not travel, so I wish the case would be a bit slimmer in size. But overall a great case, especially for those with a Jackson or Gibson V guitar bodies.Juan

I was going to get the SKB-6 but did not like that it does not have body contours to hold the guitar body snug. This SKB-66 has nice contours that do hold the guitar body snug. The neck support section was a little tight at first. But then I realized the softest part of this case is down the middle of the top lid where the lid touches the neck and strings. That section appears the same as the rest but indeed has a semi firm/soft foam so it does not squash the neck and strings but holds the Pacifica snug with no wobble room at all. Even with the case latch closed I can push in and flex the case in that area. No pressure on the 5 way switch or knobs. I was a little skeptical of the fit prior to purchase because the Pacifica has a slightlt different body shape from a Fender Strat. But, it fits just right. Latches seem sturdy. This is my second SKB ABS case. The first one is still holding strong after 18+ years with a Tele style guitar in it.Sasquach
I have another SKB rectangular Case that has the Fender logo embossed with the TSA locks. That case fits my Strat and Tele much better. This case is a bit lighter but still nice quality, however, the neck support is so high in the case that when you place your guitar in the case, the whole guitar sits at an angle. The headstock lifts up out of the case as the body drops in. When you close the lid, the pressure forces the headstock down and the body up putting undue stress on the neck of the guitar. When I think "universal" case, I would expect it to fit a traditional Strat and Tele, but it does not.Don
I bought this for a Charvel Predator, and was worried what I was going to be receiving for the price, since I have received some pretty crappy ones only a little cheaper than this one. When I got it and opened it up, I couldn't have asked for anything more. This is the highest quality case I have ever bought. There is tons of storage inside. I originally bought it to ship a guitar safely out to Mike Learn for a paint job, but this case will be one I will keep forever. BUY THIS NOW!!! I may be buying one or two more for other guitars I have.simplydirectproducts

Overall: I bought this for my Pro Series Soloist SL2Q MAH. It fits perfectly, snug so no worries of it bouncing around in there. It doesn't have a cover to the accessory pockets, however like I said the case is snug so when closed nothing falls out not even my loose picks. The latches on this case are probably my favorite feature as well as the TSA locks. Found out yesterday when I checked it for my flight was that TSA has a master key to this type of case, so you don't have to dig your keys out to open it for them, however on the flip side, not sure if I like that they have a key to open the case. However it arrived in great shape, nothing missing, they locked it back up which i was happy with. Seems to be very well built and didn't have any damage or scratches when I got it after my flight.Ryan
le I don't have a lot of experience with other brands' cases, this Jackson case is perfect for what I was looking for – something that will protect my guitar from its environment. I bought my first Jackson from Musicians Friend almost exactly 20 years ago, so my needs have changed a bit from when I was in high school and lugging my guitar around in the back of cars. It's now more about keeping the guitar safe when stowed away: protected from my wife just tossing it wherever she thinks it should be stored, protected from it then falling because it was hastily placed against something, protected from stuff falling on it because of other items placed hastily above or near it, and protected from my 2 and 5 year old who are all too interested in playing with the noise maker inside (which of course I'm more than happy to let them experiment when I'm supervising, but that's not as fun as sneaking it out when dad isn't home). This case protects from all of that, while also being more compact than the Jackson hard shell cases from the 90's. That's not even taking into account the much improved hardware, handle, and TSA lock (many of the older cases have locks, hinges, etc busted off). This case is also tighter on the tremolo, and it has two storage compartments as opposed to one.. Functional attributes aside, it's more aesthetic, IMO. Take a look at the attached pictures to see if it may be worth an upgrade! While I bought this new one for my Soloist, I might just get one for the Rhoads.WhereismyAquaNet

Overall: Ordered this for my fender aerodyne strat. Box was dry… But inside the case was wet…not damp, wet. They keys that come inside the case were rusted. Also, don't buy this if you have an aerodyne. It doesn't fit properly. The body was tight but the neck was suspended about a half inch over the neck support.Jacob
Overall: I purchased this case for my custom shop Strat and I must say, this case is real nice. Holds the guitar snug And supports the instrument in all critical areas to prevent damage while shipping or flight. Honestly, you could probably throw this thing off the top of your house and it wouldn’t even damage it at all. Storage compartment is generous, I currently have three petals and a bunch of other accessories with room to spare. Overall this is a really solid case for the money and I definitely trust my $3500 instrument in it. Other things to mention, there are dual locks, six places for padlocks and wheels on this case. This thing is built like a tank, you will not be disappointed if you’re looking for durability. I highly recommend this to anyone who travels with their guitar a lot. If you sit at home and your guitar sits in the closet a lot it’s probably overkill..Norman
Hi, I just ordered two of these one for a strat and one for a tele, Both are extremely tight fitting for current guitars especially the neck area. The case will not work with the tele as shipped. You will need to cut out a spot in the lid for the last knob. I have to use as I don't have time for a change or I would return. Otherwise case seems OK. Also the padding is hard foam with a very thin layer of material.

Fantastic case!! Very sturdy and beautifully constructed, well made. Holds my Fender Strat very well along with enough room for my mic, cords, picks, looper and other misc. items. Perfect size to carry. Very nice looking case. Very satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommend.Sammy
Thought I would take a chance on the listing that stated the SKB guitar case was used. It showed up very well packaged and in mint condition. Opening up the case the oxygen absorber packets were still inside along with the keys. I would not think twice about buying another used item from Pro star audio especially with the almost 30% discount price. Excellent condition, fast shipping, well packagedCuteWolf-84894
The case is fairly lightweight, but sturdy. It fits a Stratocaster very well. Teles have a bit more room to move around. But once you secure the top it is probably a snug fit. Provides two storage areas that are very handy. I also like how the outside corners are rounded.oldchicagoblues78

Overall: Got this case for my Schecter KM-7. Guitar fit but tip of headstock was embedded into the foam so I ended up ordering a Schecter case for it. I have other guitars that fit this case. It's very well made and a great case. This is the second one I have bought and plan on more.Scott

Reviews:
After several decades of carrying around my Telecaster in the big black plywood case it came in, the shaped case is a real pleasure to use. It made its first trip last week when I caught the bus downtown to a weekly blues jam. I thought, wow! Why didn't I get a case like this years ago? The shaped case protects the guitar as well as or better than the old plywood case, but is lighter and smaller, not much bigger than a gig bag. Also, I don't worry about sitting it down. I mean it's not going to fall over like those old cases were eager to do. I guess for stacking in a trailer or the back of a van the original rectangular case might have an advantage, but otherwise the close fit and ample padding of the shaped case seem protective. In addition, the shaped case has a cradle for the neck to rest in and a cut out cavity which holds the guitar secure. The old case contained the guitar, but did not restrain it, so you could hear and feel it flopping around a bit. My Strat has a similar rectangular wooden case, although without the strange orange lining of the Tele's old case, and the Strat flops around even more than the Telecaster. It is true that the shaped case doesn't have room for a lot of extra stuff, but pedals and assorted hardware in the case are really only good for making it incredibly heavy and rattling around looking for something to ding or scratch. I'll admit, however, back in the seventies having a fuzz face, a wah-wah pedal and other assorted stuff in the case. Man, was it heavy! Now, I just use an old computer bag for odd bits of hardware and my mini-pedal board. My only reservation at this point are the big plastic latches. They seem as if they could be a bit fragile, but since the case doesn't go anywhere that I don't go, I think they will be fine. Would I recommend this case? Absolutely, it even looks cool, so what's not to like?Jim
I'm a 61 year young guitar player who started playing when I was 12, and have seen, owned and used a wide selection of guitar cases. These are the best I have owned. I now have two of these excellent cases. I bought the first for my old Corona built '66 Stratocaster, liked it so well that I bought another for my MIM Telecaster. I'm going to buy two more of these cases for my other Fender guitars. The cases are extremely durable, and I am confident that my guitar is going to be ready to play where ever I'm going, even if I'm just going to a barbecue at my next door neighbors house. I have learned the hard way that my guitars stand as much a chance of getting damaged in my house as they do on an airplane flight. When my guitars are not in my hands, they are safely resting in their cases. Since I mentioned air flight, the simple ability for the TSA people can open my locked guitar case without causing damage, or causing me more hassle at the terminal, is a real selling point. I have flown several times with these cases, and thanks to the supreme durability of the case, and the TSA friendly lock, I don't have to fear my guitar being damaged or destroyed when they go on as checked luggage. These cases are small, with limited space to carry accessories, and that is good as they take up less room in the trunk of a small car. I follow Bob Taylor's advice on traveling with instruments; I put nothing in the case with my guitar but a small polishing cloth. I put the strap, tuner, strings, snuff can full of picks and anything else I want along in my carry on bag or other checked luggage.Beauregard Hooligan

I flew from Washington, DC to Tanzania in east Africa with my prized acoustic guitar in this case. I bought this case because it was waterproof and I thought SKB was a reliable brand. My guitar fit in the molded case nice and snug and the neck and head stock had excellent support. My guitar made it in perfect condition…arriving with me just like I had packed it. It has played great, just like at home. The price of this case was well worth the protection it gave guitar. Anyone flying with their acoustic guitar should have this case!Miller
This could very well be the best case ever for acoustic guitar, however the oversight on the dimensions is incredibly disappointing. It will not fit a 12 string guitar, or a 6 string guitar with a longer than average headstock. If they had added 1" to the internal dimensions, it would fit ANYTHING! For a standard dreadnaught acoustic, you'd be hard pressed to find a better case to fly with. Boat for that matter.Backlinetek
Overall: This thing is nearly bullet proof. Seven days and 100 miles of whitewater later, my 38-year old favorite guitar is unscathed. The case also served as a handy coffee/cocktail table in our riverside tent camps. So nice to know my best 6-string friend can go anywhere with me in the years to come. Highly recommended!Jim

This is a Very nice guitar case that was not very well QC'd from the factory. The problem was not caught at M.F's shipping department either. They simply receive boxed products and then label and ship to you. The alignment and molding of the case was not right, for that reason the latch in that area will not close without a lot of pressure on the case. The plastic or the back hinges are also not connected quite right. This makes one of only three latches not real functional. Not sure how SKB could not catch this. It is very visible. This case is for my son's school guitar lesson's. It is very difficult for him to be able to close this latch. It would cost me forty more to send and receive another case. Not worth the money, so we'll just have to live with this defect. In hind sight, I'd should have payed thirty more in town to buy this case. Did not think I could have a a issue to buy a case online. Shame on me.Slacktooth
To date (July 2013), Martin does not make a hardcase for the Little Martin. While this case is often considered a Baby Taylor case, it fits the Little Martin like a glove. The case came in what appeared like a very light, black, burlap bag within a larger cardboard box. There were a number of scuff marks on the case itself. While that didn't bother me much (with used it's going to get more), I was concerned it was a used case. Interior inspections suggest it was new but no one can be 100% sure. As for the case, the hidden storage is rather small approx. 7in x 3in x 2in. It's great to keep your capo, picks, and other minor items, but if you like to store your strap in there, it's going to be a VERY tight fit. I have read that people didn't like how the case rattles when it's close, for lack of a proper fit, however I didn't notice this problem and it seems like my Little Martin is pretty secure in it (I shook it pretty hard for a minute to see if I can hear it move). Overall I'm happy with the case. It's likely you will be using this as a travel guitar if you bother getting a hardshell case. The last thing you need is announcing to the world it's either a Martin or a Taylor in there and gets it stolen.AsianGuy97
This is my third case of this model. My wife just recently purchased a LTD. Edition Baby Taylor Koa. So I wanted it to be safe and secure. The SKB 300 is awesome. The previous ones are for my Little Martin (LX1) and for wife's Luna Safari nylon. We always each take a travel guitar with us when we vacation. The SKB 300 is light and tough. In My experience the lid lines up perfectly as do the latches. When you can catch them on sale they are an amazing value and offer. It is true the inside compartment is small but be realistic, its a small case. A capo and tuner and extra strings fit fine. I actually am able to also put a strap in but it has to rolled tightly. I know it fits Little Martins fine and I know it fines Luna Safari nylon string fine. It will NOT however fit Luna Safari's that have steel strings.craftydolls

Reviews:
I bought this for a vintage 335 that I'm restoring. The guitar came with the original Lifton case. But it's seen better days and doesn't do much to protect the old girl any more. I'd originally planned to get a cool brown Gibson case, but with a cross country move coming up, I figured I'd better bet something a little more travel-reliable. The shaped recess for the body is just a shade too big for the contours on my 1973 335, but it's very close. Before my move cross country, I might shim it up so the guitar doesn't move in the case. But this case is a BEAST. It's HUGE, but I have absolutely no doubt it'll get the job done. I'd bet I could throw the guitar 10 ft at a time, all the way cross country and the guitar would be fine. Sound: As for a hard plastic bass case, it has a dead thump when I hit it. Features: The luggage- style wheels make it essential for schlepping through airports. Ease of Use: P-bass fits snugly. Enough compartment space for boss tuner, cables, set of tools. Flew over to the UK and currently on a Euro tour. Very lightweight. So far, working great. Quality: It's the same hard plastic used in pelican cases. It is made for tour and overseas travel. One seam does not appear to mate very well, but you can hear the air being pushed out when you shut it. The seam is my only complaint. Value: Expensive, but I think this will be a worthy investment. The Wow Factor: You might only get a better case if it is custom made, but encased in the pelican material.
I have had an Open Cavity iSeries Bass Case for 4.5 years. I have flown with it about half a dozen times, but the main way I use it is in the back of the equipment truck. In that regard, it has been on nearly a thousand gigs. It has a few scratches, and I replaced the wheels at around the three year mark (replaced with solid wheels instead of 2 piece), but beyond that-it is going strong. For reference, I play a Sadowsky 5-24. I liked this case enough that when I bought a second bass to take on the road, I ordered one of these, except in the P/J configuration since the new bass (Fender Precision 5) did not fit in the open cavity case. If it doesn't fit in the P/J case, I'll be returning it.Cam
This is my second SKB universal ata heavy duty case. It fits my larger Jackson 7 string sl7 pro and my Jackson dinky pro 7 string with reverse headstock due to large open area at headstock allowing for most any headstock orientation. A towel or shirt under guitar aligns neck to sit well in supportive neck channel. A shirt on top keeps guitar from moving around. Sturdy case with reasonable weight, I believe this SKB ata universal case is as sturdy as a few 1/4" guitar roadcases I've previously had without the excess weight. A heavy case gets tiring fast, that is why I buy the SKB shock mount roadcases for rack mount gear as well. The SKB are heavier duty and made of thicker and stronger plastic than a few Gator cases I had and sold off.kb

I've just started using my baby Martin as my main performance guitar. So I needed a case that provided more protection than the flimsy thin bag that the guitar comes in. This is the only case that I have found that fits the bill for me. I wanted a "soft" case to carry on flights and this one has been great! The guitar fits perfectly and there are plenty of pockets for my notebooks, picks, capos, and other accessories.Rob
I purchased this case for my Yamaha APXT2, and it is a perfect fit. The gig bag that comes with the Yamaha is pretty thin and doesn't offer much protection if you're going to take it out and about, so I wanted something better. I love the fact that it's very lightweight like a gig bag, but has the protection of a hard case. This is the best fit and best priced case I found for the APXT2. Cute, too! Love it!Camille
When I ordered my Yamaha apxt2 ¾ Guitar I wanted to be sure it was well protected. I searched everywhere for product descriptions for a case that would fit this guitar securely. There was some mention in a couple of brand reviews but I wasn't quite sure I wanted to pull the trigger. I double checked the measurements of the guitar and this case and it seemed to fit. I picked up the guitar and this case from GC and they were a perfect match. This is a very well made semi-soft case. The construction is firm enough to offer great protection. The interior is plush like the same SKB model hard case but it has the backpack straps I was looking for. It also has lots of exterior storage. The outside appears to be quite rugged and it weighs a lot less than the hard case. While I wouldn't fly with this as checked baggage it will be perfect as a carryon. So, search no more. If you want a great case for your Yamaha apxt2 order this one.Muzkmn

I generally have a hard time buying new guitar cases that are more than 1/3 the cost of the guitar, as I am a connoisseur of inexpensive instruments. This case was worth the price, it's very well made, not likely to ding or tear as much as others I own, has plush green padding, and has a unique ridge around the edge that really makes it stand out. It looks a lot more expensive. As always love the payment plans.Paula
Great case for a standard Yamaha APX 6 string. Like a glove. Unfortunately the APX700II-12 (12 string) headstock is too long, not much but it just won't fit. Based on the interior dimensions I'm going to try the SKB-8 Economy dreadnought, as the Road Runner RRMADN was a bit too sloppy for this guitar. Other than the fit the case itself was great.Smiley
Overall: Got a Blemished SKB for a little discount but the Case looked like New! inside padded thick. Locks is sturdy way better any other Had case locks. Thanks AMS always provide savvy musicians with affordable solutions. Best way to shop musical stuffs for your Studio by online is here!Viet

If you need a case for your Strat style guitar this is the one. It's light weight, compact, and well made. I tossed my old worn out gig bag in the garbage. I'll be ordering a second case for a Strat I just purchased over the holidays. I ordered this case for a Strat that I use at church. The gig bag I used had worn out and I wanted to have a bit more protection for my Strat. I was amazed at the durbability of this guitar case. First, the heavy-duty zippers work in both directions and don't get caught on the corners. Both zippers stop at the rear of the case allowing the case lid to open all the way. Second, the case lid had a strap that kept the lid open. I have other cases that the lid keeps closing as you try to take out the guitar without the lid wacking into it. Inside I was delighted to see a nice soft bed to lay my Strat into. The material was black in color and not to fuzzy. There is an open compartment to put strings, strap and a slide bottle into. My only beef is that this is an open area of the case next to the guitar bed and I worry about my slide bottle getting lose and banging into the guitar. I think when the lid is closed it prevents anything from moving out of the open compartment area. So far nothing has moved around. Third, and most important, my Strat fits in the case perfect with no wiggle. The headstock and guitar body fit snuggly into the injected foam case like a glove. With the lid closed the guitar does not bang around inside the case. An added plus in my book. Fourth, I noticed that this case is a bit shorter, probably 3/4 size of a regular Strat case. This smaller size makes the case lighter and easier to carry. Lastly, There are numerous zippered pockets on the outside of the case for cords, strings, picks and other stuff. This is handy when you don't want to have to open the case each time to get out something you need. Best of all, there are two heavy-duty shoulder straps on the back side of the case that make carrying this case on your shoulders a breeze. I use the handles on the case. Value wise this case is a steal. At $65 you'd be hard pressed to find another case half as good for twice the amount. Inexpensive, lighweight and well made I give this case five stars. I'll be buying a second one as soon as I finish this review. Even though it's made in China, and everything seems to be these days, this is a well made, well thoughtout guitar case. Thanks SKB. This is the best deal I've ever seen at MF
I like this case a lot and use it every week for almost all my guitars. I bought it for a Tele style guitar I built from selected parts I purchased. It is not long enough and I had to cut out some to fit the headstock. It also hits the pickup selector switch. The description should include all the interior dimensions instead of just a list of guitars. Beyond that it is light weight strong and works well.TonyKor

This case does not fit a Gibson Flying V in a safe way. I have a 2019 Gibson Flying V and the guitar fits in the case with about 3 inches of room on either the top or bottom of the case because it will slide front to back. I have closed the case and gently shifted it to see if the guitar shifts while the case is sealed and it will. This case would not protect the guitar in any form of travel.Tony
I bought this product because I read it would be the best case for my Jackson RRXMG (24 fret). The case is very nice and super sturdy. I really like the way the latches are designed because I feel they're a bit harder to open than traditional locking fasteners. All that being said the guitar fits, but the headstock does hover a bit and the neck gets pushed when you close the case completely. Also the interior compartment is a bit small so don't expect put any type of musical book in there. Overall I'm pleased because my guitar is still protected.Epic Axe Man
SKB is known for making really good cases; I own a couple of their other models for other pieces of equipment and I love them. This case shows a good effort by SKB, but there is one problem with it. The way the hinges are positioned on the case, it makes it really easy for them to become weak and break off; one of them is just about to blow out on my case. This case used to be the only option for a v-shaped hard-shell guitar case, so it didn't make much of a difference, but now I would recommend a TKL case; especially if you own a Gibson Flying V. TKL makes the hard-shell cases for Gibson guitars, so you can guarantee that it will work for your Flying V. The quality of the TKL also seems a bit better too. Bottom line: if you can find a TKL case, GET IT!, if not, this is probably a good second place option, but beware of the hinges.

My son needed a hard case for the acoustic guitar my brother custom-built. While it is an OM size guitar, the custom carved body led us to need larger depth, thus we bought this dreadnought case. The guitar fit perfectly, with only a little bit of space around it. And the storage compartment is roomy. My son will be traveling to college in the fall as well as study abroad in the future. He only had a soft-sided gig bag, so we wanted an acoustic case that was well-built/sturdy, functional, provided good cushioning on the inside, and would be suited for plane travel (thus TSA locks). This one has it all!Zach's Mom
I bought this for my new Seagull Maritime SWS cutaway dreadnought. The quality is superior in my opinion to wood cases I've purchased (a Gator 000 and a couple of Gretsch branded cases). The trigger latches are precise and easy to use. I love the green interior and it looks great with orangey-brown wood tones and pick guard of the mahogany/spruce SWS. The only problem, it's too big! I easily have an inch all the way around my guitar, and you can feel it slide around in the case. Unfortunately none of the local shops had this case to try out prior to purchase, otherwise I probably would have looked for something else. I'll work with it and pad as necessary, and I do like that I have plenty of room to leave the strap on. Admittedly this is my first and only dreadnought, and I can't recall exactly how the Seagull compares in size to others I've tried. I would have no hesitation in purchasing this, but check your measurements carefully and try it out if possible first.Chad H.
I am beyond disappointed in this case. After 4 months the lid would not align with the bottom of the case thereby rendering the case useless. I treat my gear carefully and the case was not abused. I bought this for my Martin at the recommendation of the MF sale agent and because it has a TSA lock. I contacted MF and was told by the sales person that there was no warranty and that I was basically SOL. I'm quite put off by this given the fact of the strong recommendation by the sales person and will not buy from MF in the future.George

If you are willing to spend big dollars on a special bass, this is the case to protect your "baby". SOLID – 4 quality latches and a handle placed to balance your item while in hand. I bought this as soon as I discovered they existed. Don't be confused with their similar case – you want the 4 latch PRO. It protects my Fender Victor Bailey and worth every penny.Mac McDermott
