Great, great sounding guitar for the money. Very well balanced and warm sound, perfectly responding to any dynamic, which is stunning considering the guitar still has to age properly. A pleasure to play and listen to. Aesthetically it's even more, absolutely gorgeous, especially the wild cherry back and sides, which they look spectacular. The satin finish is kind of sexy. That means Richard is maintaining is promises on selecting the best sounding/looking models. We had some trouble/delay on the shipment caused by the express courier and Richard has been kind enough to send me a free gift (which he was not obliged to do), to kind of compensate for a problem he didn't cause! Overall: First of all this guitar is beautiful. It is unique and striking. It stays in tune. It sustains for days. The action is like an solid body electric. It has low action all the way down the neck. It was shipped impeccably. The chords ring out like a bell. The price is phenomenal. There is a reason I only buy from zZounds. Its because they let play while you pay. This is a company that cares about musicians because they are musicians. Anyway I digress. The neck is a satin finish that rivals my $2000 PRS CE. It is like butter. The nut which governs tuning (& staying in tune) is a Tusq nut, which is what I use to replace stock nuts on a lot of my guitars. ThIs guitar is made in North America, Canada specifically, not in an asian factory 7000 miles away. The body is slightly smaller than a dreadnought. I love it. Maybe hand sits directly over the sound hole because ts in the same position as in my electrics. I looked many times at similarly priced Taylors which are fine guitars, but I believed eve I made the best choice for me.Tony
Overall: It arrived in a slightly banged up box due to the neglegence of a federal shipping company whom i won't name. Luckily for me Godin ships their guitars in the most solid air bubble armor that I've ever encountered. Right out of the box this guitar was ready to sing, and sing it did. Without tuning I played an Emajor and to my surprise it was in tune. About 3 minutes later, after the previously mentioned chord finally stopped ringing, I plugged her into the soundboard and the tone was impeccable and clear. It's a solid guitar as well. it doesn't feel thin or cheap. The action is low and the neck is smooth. I had my worries from blindly purchasing this unique masterpiece but I am very glad I trusted the reviews and description of this angelic bird. It truly is as described, if not better. I don't think you'll find a better acoustic electric in this price range.Derek

Girlfriend bought me a Seagull Entourage Rustic for my birthday and I loved the sound and build quality of the instrument. I've since purchased several for family members and friends as as first instrument or a "step-up". Every site said the S6 was the perfect starter…meh! Only problem with the Entourage Rustic was the nut width made finger picking a chore. I decided to purchase an S6. Playing it in store…rusty strings and all…I could tell it was perfect for my purpose. It has enough space between the strings to allow my fingers to pluck away. I'm finally getting it to the point where the top is aging and the sound is becoming resonant, harmonically rich, and almost three-dimensional. The Entourage Rustic is a great Strummer but mine is now my permanent DADGAD guitar. I tuned it down a whole step (CGCFGC… right?) and have put the capo on the second fret. This allows me a heavier set of strings and the spacing at the second fret is wide enough for my fingers. I may replace the second fret with a stainless steel fret in the near future…as my version of a "zero" fret. Incredible guitars made to impeccable standards…yeah, they've won a fanboi. I've also purchased a Taylor that's nice enough. I just seem to gravitate towards the Seagulls. Leaving the Taylor in the corner.JohnnyScottish
Just pulled my 30 yr old Seagull S6 out of its case for the first time in couple of years. It's not too pretty–the area around the soundhole is shredded from years of hard strumming, and the top is cracked in a couple spots from not being properly humidified and sitting in hot cars. Plenty of other acne from carelessness. So now for the good part. This guitar plays and sounds like a dream. I could hardly believe my ears!! For an inexpensive guitar this is an absolute jewel and I'm glad we are reunited. It's going to spend far less time in the case from now on.
I had a teacher who owned the old S6 model and I always loved the feel and sound of that guitar, it stuck in my head for years. I couldn't ever find one locally and I used to not trust buying guitars sight unseen online, until recently. I got a few less expensive instruments to test it out and was impressed w/ how perfect they showed up ready to play and matching the reviews in every regard, even the flaws. So I waited for the right coupon and bought the new and improved version of the dream guitar I always wanted and I'm so glad I waited and ended up w/ the new one because it's even better! The look is outstanding, mine is just like every picture you can find of one they are all perfect and uniform in appearance, some natural woods will have a lot of variance in grain and color, these all look the exact same. The sound is heavenly, this is where I feel this guitar beats it's predecessor and many other fine instruments like Taylors, Yamahas, and some Martins I've played. It has a very rich full tone and a shimmering quality to it's sustain that makes me think it just creates more natural harmonics and resonance than any other acoustic guitar I've ever played. I've been playing just over 15 years and have fooled around w/ at least 20-25 different acoustic guitars alone, I own 4 others aside from this one- and none of those can compare to this sound of this guitar. It can almost run you out of a small room if you're playing hard it projects so loud, and the resonance/sustain is unbelievable- as long as you can hold a note fretted it will keep ringing, when it starts to fade add vibrato and the sound comes back like it's hooked up to a amp w/ a lot of feedback. The most excellent tone and string spacing I've ever found for finger picking. It's just the right sound for an acoustic lead part w/ melodies and Travis picking because it's highs are higher than others. It feels perfect too w/ the semi gloss finish and that contoured neck, best acoustic guitar ever for the $.John

Now, after playing this guitar in many venues and different genres I will add to my earlier praise; this guitar sounds better and better, and now that is has some age in the wood the tone is more gorgeous. I've found that with a "back buster" sound hole cover I get a very soulful tone. I prefer it and leave the cover on all the time — especially with slide, the tone is really smooth. Again, you simply cannot find a better guitar in this price range and as I said before it stands up to all guitars in higher range. Plus I really like the autumn burst, matte finish. It really stands out in a crowd.Brian
There is nothing not great about me selecting the Entourage CW. After much research on the brand and a few "lap dances" at the local GC (dreaming on it, Youtube also), it was an easy choice for me AND for what I'm doing musically at this point in my life (60 years old, between any further band project that will doubtfully arise), she has the perfect tone for the 60-70's rock, 80-90's country, open chord creations, all that I lean towards. This guitar sounds awesome to me unplugged. I can feel the vibratory hum next to my torso. It is soft and whispering to my soul to "play me more often, Pops!" But plugged into my Roland Street Cube, with little adjustment, or my ancient PA, is when she comes alive. It is truly like no other sound from other guitars I've owned or researched online. For me, we are a lifelong match. Nuts and bolts? I have nothing bad to say about this acoustic guitar choice at all. I've been playing guitar and piano since the late 60's as a novice and intermediate performer, owned the $2300 Gibson J45 Standard a few years back, the Martin DX1RAE after that, many fine Yamahas, but my new guitar is the one I've fallen in love with. Good luck on your choice but choose wisely. These instruments of fine wood and steel need their rightful owner to come along and stay forever. Trust me on that. I've owned this guitar for about a year, I like to live with things for a while before reviewing. This is a fantastic guitar for the price. It is nicely set up right out of the box with a nice low action and good intonation. The guitar sounds great and is well balanced with crisp clear highs and a round warm bass sound. It responds well to both light touch finger picking as well as heavy strumming. My only criticism when playing is that it feels a little tight when finger picking. I will also comment on the thin neck. I like the feel of the thin neck on this guitar, but it might be a turnoff for others. I would recommend playing in a store before making a final decision. I do have one minor quality issue and I'm not sure if it's common or not. A few months ago the pickguard on my guitar began sliding out of place. There is now unsightly and sticky glue exposed on the guitar top. I contacted Seagull and they sent me a new pickguard and advised me on how to remove the old one. I will say they have good customer service. I'm a little nervous that the new pickguard will do the same thing, but time will tell. Overall this is a great guitar for the price and I'm sure I will enjoy playing it for many years to come.Michigan Steve

I buy guitars based on two criteria: 1) Playability – low action, feel of the neck and easy to play sitting or standing. 2) SOUND!! – equal in priority to playability… tone, resonance, intonation and it sounds good both amplified and unplugged. This Seagull met those criteria for me and it also looks great! For reference, I own a Taylor 214e, Taylor Big Baby, Taylor GS Mini, Martin HD28 and several Yamahas, Fenders, etc. I love them all for different reasons. My daughter (who's also a musician) and I visited Guitar Center and I went around the acoustic room picking up various guitars and strumming them + playing some fingerstyle tunes. I kept going back to the Entourage and my daughter even commented about how great it sounded compared to the others. At the risk of my wife divorcing me for bringing another guitar home, I had to have one. The Entourage has quickly become one of my favorites and it sounds great, both acoustic or amplified. The tone is very well balanced – enough depth/bass on the lower notes and the high notes ring through clear with great projection and resonance on both. I buy guitars based on two criteria: 1) Playability – low action, feel of the neck and easy to play sitting or standing. 2) SOUND!! – equal in priority to playability… tone, resonance, intonation and it sounds good both amplified and unplugged. This Seagull met those criteria for me and it also looks great! For reference, I own a Taylor 214e, Taylor Big Baby, Taylor GS Mini, Martin HD28 and several Yamahas, Fenders, etc. I love them all for different reasons. My daughter (who's also a musician) and I visited Guitar Center and I went around the acoustic room picking up various guitars and strumming them + playing some fingerstyle tunes. I kept going back to the Entourage and my daughter even commented about how great it sounded compared to the others. At the risk of my wife divorcing me for bringing another guitar home, I had to have one. The Entourage has quickly become one of my favorites and it sounds great, both acoustic or amplified. The tone is very well balanced – enough depth/bass on the lower notes and the high notes ring through clear with great projection and resonance on both. It really is an enjoyable guitar to play and I highly recommend it.Andy
There is nothing not great about me selecting the Entourage CW. After much research on the brand and a few "lap dances" at the local GC (dreaming on it, Youtube also), it was an easy choice for me AND for what I'm doing musically at this point in my life (60 years old, between any further band project that will doubtfully arise), she has the perfect tone for the 60-70's rock, 80-90's country, open chord creations, all that I lean towards. This guitar sounds awesome to me unplugged. I can feel the vibratory hum next to my torso. It is soft and whispering to my soul to "play me more often, Pops!" But plugged into my Roland Street Cube, with little adjustment, or my ancient PA, is when she comes alive. It is truly like no other sound from other guitars I've owned or researched online. For me, we are a lifelong match. Nuts and bolts? I have nothing bad to say about this acoustic guitar choice at all. I've been playing guitar and piano since the late 60's as a novice and intermediate performer, owned the $2300 Gibson J45 Standard a few years back, the Martin DX1RAE after that, many fine Yamahas, but my new guitar is the one I've fallen in love with. Good luck on your choice but choose wisely. These instruments of fine wood and steel need their rightful owner to come along and stay forever. Trust me on that. I purchased a Black Seagull S6 a few years ago when the color came out. I love playing it, it is my main accoustic guitar. It played great for me right out of the box. It looks really cool to me and sounds great. I use the Martin Retro strings with it. It is the first and last thing I do in my day and it is a joy in my life.

The wood is matched very well and the semi gloss finish is flawless. The only obvious flaw that I can find is that a couple of the frets have a slight gap when viewed from the side. Probably due to the heat and humidity changes as it was shipped from Canada to Kansas City to Alaska. The built in tuner is very easy to use and allows you to put the guitar in tune in a matter of seconds. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great value in a solid wood guitar. This one's a keeper. A beautiful solid wood guitar with an even tone. For the price this is an incredible instrument. The fit and finish is excellent. A truly beautiful guitar. The action was way too high for my liking, but a little sanding of the saddle brought it down to a comfortable and easy playing height. The sound of the guitar is mellow with no tinny highs. The intonation is perfect even after lowering the saddle. I was a little concerned that the 1.8" nut width would take a while to get used to, but it actually feels just right to me. It came down to the maritime or a solid epiphone for the same price. I didn't want "made in China" to appear on my guitar. Very happy with "Made in Canada".

The guitar arrived extremely well packed and protected in pristine condition absolutely perfect not a mark on if anywhere and setup to my instructions. I would absolutely recommend Richards Guitars as the best Seller I have ever dealt with in my 50 years of playing and buying guitars. It's the old fashion personal customer Service that really stands out for me, you are treated and respected as an individual and nothing is to much trouble. I am so pleased with my purchase I have retained the packing material as I have a Faith Venus Guitar after being played at gigs for years it is showing its age and needs some renovations due to minor chips and scratches and needs re coating and polishing and new fret wires etc. I am sure Richard will be able to advise me on this and hopefully do the work required. I compared this guitar against the Martin and Taylors of similar price. Simply better all around. Not on sound alone, but playability and tuning stability, it was more comfortable to play and it's all wood. This guitar has its own voice that I am getting like more and more, meaning it's bright, but the quality and tone reflect the all wood construction. It is best for fingerpicking, which sold me since at is mostly how I play. Great mids and high notes. Lastly, it's the best looking guitar in its class hands down, with very good build quality.Fingerpicking Good.

I've had this guitar a few months now and have gradually grown to love it. I had originally ordered this guitar after picking up a friend's 3/4 sized guitar and finding that I could bend the strings almost as easily as an electric because of the short scale length. That and the comfortable size is what appealed to me. Upon receiving this guitar I found it to be impecably made and finished. All of the wood has a tight consistant grain.I really like the unique look of it. I swapped out the medium gauge strings that it came with right away for a 11-50 gauge strings to suit my style. My first impression of the sound was how suprisingly loud it is for its size and how bright the sound is. At first the brightness bothered me. I'm not sure if it has just opened up or if I've gotten more used to it. Now my other acoustics seem a little dull. As one should expect from such a small package,the base notes are a little on the thin side. Comparing this guitar to a Dreadnaught is like comparing a Jack Russel Terrier to a Golden Retriever. They suit different purposes. I snagged one of these beauties over the Memorial Day weekend, a second guitar for a Les Paul-style electric I'm learning blues and rock-blues on. I wanted something I could easily play on the living room couch for extra practice but also pipe into a small Blackstar tube amp for gritty, over-driven home recording fun. Compared to the solid Mahogany Monster electric, the Seagull parlor is like grabbing a fistful of air. It's so light and comfortable, it just begs to be played at any opportunity. I love my electric, but sometimes it's like wearing an anchor around my neck. The funny thing is, the Seagull electric amps up beautifully for a pseudo-electric rock sound. Between the amp adjustments and the bass and treble controls on the Seagull, I was able to pull out a snarling, characterful voice with gobs of sustain and attitude. There was something almost comical about this petite parlor transforming into a strutting, wailing Jimmy Page through a Marshall stack (not that I play like Jimmy Page, but that's my problem, not the guitar's). If I want to record acoustic, I'll mic up the guitar itself. Out of the box, it sounds beautiful with rich, warm layers, and singing overtones. As others have noted, it is surprisingly loud for such a small guitar. I was actually shocked. I need to develop a lighter touch after learning on the electric. And while the Seagull suits finger style, which I'll experiment with now given the parlor form factor, it sounds glorious with the right pick. I have a huge Dunlop sample pack and it's been fun to go from treble to bass emphasis with various picks. (The thinner Primetone sounds magical to me.) It doesn't hurt that the guitar looks beautiful with it's rustic finish. My wife was immediately sold on the idea of keeping the guitar ever at the ready in the living room, proudly displayed on a Pro-G wood stand. Though I may never get the Entourage back now. If you are looking for an inexpensive and smaller guitar for travel without having to compromise with an actual travel size guitar I would suggest checking this little Parlor out. I am only about 5'7 so this guitar is super comfortable for me to play for long periods of time without shoulder fatique. Parlors have their own sound, and it certainly isn't going to compete with a dreadnaught, but it fills a great niche in the sonic spectrum and is a great guitar to have for recording, travel, and for gigs with the excellent Q1 electronics built in too. Overall am excellent buy and product from the brilliant Canadian luthiers at Godin! Excellent quality materials, huge sound that rings like a bell. Very comfortable guitar to play. The Q1 electronics sound very nice, and they are simple to use. Cedar top, Wild Cherry back and sides. Very nice appointments like TUSQ nut and saddle, good quality tuners, and a great feeling and playing silver leaf maple neck. The rustic burst looks much better in person than it does on the web. I wanted the coastline Parlor with the electronics, but it wasn't available and being that it is the same guitar with a different finish, I chose to get this instead. I am not disappointed! I have always felt that Seagull guitars were underrated guitars, and an incredible value in tone, workmanship, and feel for the money. I bought it hoping for a nice guitar that travels well without buying a so called "travel guitar". I recently had a set of 3 electric gigs on Nantucket, and I brought this acoustic with me to warm up and play in the band house. I ended up pickup up a recording session out there and used my Seagull Parlor. Everyone involved in the session, including me, was blown away by how great this little guitar recorded with two condensor mics on it. It was a success that solidified how great a purchase this was. The cedar top is sweet and though delicate, it sounds better and better as you play it and it starts resonating and moving as it should. I personally love that the cedar gets pick scratches so easily, as it adds a cool character to the guitar especially with it's rustic finish, but you may want to have a pickguard made if this bothers you. In my experience, Seagull guitars have always been able to hang with much more expensive guitars in a gig situation. Godin seems to have their finger on getting the best sounds they can with alternate woods and laminated sides and back without sacrificing the important tone factor. They are very consistent from guitar to guitar and other than having a setup for my own personal taste, there is nothing I would change about this guitar….except maybe installing a strap button where the neck meets the body, but that is very minor in the scheme of things. I also got mine on sale with a Fathers day coupon, adding to the killer value of this little axe!

Girlfriend bought me a Seagull Entourage Rustic for my birthday and I loved the sound and build quality of the instrument. I've since purchased several for family members and friends as as first instrument or a "step-up". Every site said the S6 was the perfect starter…meh! Only problem with the Entourage Rustic was the nut width made finger picking a chore. I decided to purchase an S6. Playing it in store…rusty strings and all…I could tell it was perfect for my purpose. It has enough space between the strings to allow my fingers to pluck away. I'm finally getting it to the point where the top is aging and the sound is becoming resonant, harmonically rich, and almost three-dimensional. The Entourage Rustic is a great Strummer but mine is now my permanent DADGAD guitar. I tuned it down a whole step (CGCFGC… right?) and have put the capo on the second fret. This allows me a heavier set of strings and the spacing at the second fret is wide enough for my fingers. I may replace the second fret with a stainless steel fret in the near future…as my version of a "zero" fret. Incredible guitars made to impeccable standards…yeah, they've won a fanboi. I've also purchased a Taylor that's nice enough. I just seem to gravitate towards the Seagulls. Leaving the Taylor in the corner.JohnnyScottish
Just pulled my 30 yr old Seagull S6 out of its case for the first time in couple of years. It's not too pretty–the area around the soundhole is shredded from years of hard strumming, and the top is cracked in a couple spots from not being properly humidified and sitting in hot cars. Plenty of other acne from carelessness. So now for the good part. This guitar plays and sounds like a dream. I could hardly believe my ears!! For an inexpensive guitar this is an absolute jewel and I'm glad we are reunited. It's going to spend far less time in the case from now on.
I had a teacher who owned the old S6 model and I always loved the feel and sound of that guitar, it stuck in my head for years. I couldn't ever find one locally and I used to not trust buying guitars sight unseen online, until recently. I got a few less expensive instruments to test it out and was impressed w/ how perfect they showed up ready to play and matching the reviews in every regard, even the flaws. So I waited for the right coupon and bought the new and improved version of the dream guitar I always wanted and I'm so glad I waited and ended up w/ the new one because it's even better! The look is outstanding, mine is just like every picture you can find of one they are all perfect and uniform in appearance, some natural woods will have a lot of variance in grain and color, these all look the exact same. The sound is heavenly, this is where I feel this guitar beats it's predecessor and many other fine instruments like Taylors, Yamahas, and some Martins I've played. It has a very rich full tone and a shimmering quality to it's sustain that makes me think it just creates more natural harmonics and resonance than any other acoustic guitar I've ever played. I've been playing just over 15 years and have fooled around w/ at least 20-25 different acoustic guitars alone, I own 4 others aside from this one- and none of those can compare to this sound of this guitar. It can almost run you out of a small room if you're playing hard it projects so loud, and the resonance/sustain is unbelievable- as long as you can hold a note fretted it will keep ringing, when it starts to fade add vibrato and the sound comes back like it's hooked up to a amp w/ a lot of feedback. The most excellent tone and string spacing I've ever found for finger picking. It's just the right sound for an acoustic lead part w/ melodies and Travis picking because it's highs are higher than others. It feels perfect too w/ the semi gloss finish and that contoured neck, best acoustic guitar ever for the $.John

I play out solo 3-4 times a week and rely on the best possible workhorse equipment I can find to present the best possible sound. I was so happy with my Seagull Maritime that I purchased the Seagull Coastline and was glad I did. While the Maritime has a smaller body and string length which is the perfect size for this small room I play in called The Cave. I notice the Coastline has a bigger fuller sound with it's slightly bigger body and sounds so sweet only a solid top can give you. It also costs about $400.00 less. Both guitars have a great tone.. The Fishman electronics does a great job in translating the guitars sound through my jbl speaker. I also play through the: Wet Reverb and T.C. Electronics Flashback pedals.. Seagull offers you astonishing beautiful, extreme high quality guitars period….. I'm not even going to say "for the money" because these guitars hold their own against the bigs. They are that good!! Great, great sounding guitar for the money. Very well balanced and warm sound, perfectly responding to any dynamic, which is stunning considering the guitar still has to age properly. A pleasure to play and listen to. Aesthetically it's even more, absolutely gorgeous, especially the wild cherry back and sides, which they look spectacular. The satin finish is kind of sexy. That means Richard is maintaining is promises on selecting the best sounding/looking models. We had some trouble/delay on the shipment caused by the express courier and Richard has been kind enough to send me a free gift (which he was not obliged to do), to kind of compensate for a problem he didn't cause! Overall: First of all this guitar is beautiful. It is unique and striking. It stays in tune. It sustains for days. The action is like an solid body electric. It has low action all the way down the neck. It was shipped impeccably. The chords ring out like a bell. The price is phenomenal. There is a reason I only buy from zZounds. Its because they let play while you pay. This is a company that cares about musicians because they are musicians. Anyway I digress. The neck is a satin finish that rivals my $2000 PRS CE. It is like butter. The nut which governs tuning (& staying in tune) is a Tusq nut, which is what I use to replace stock nuts on a lot of my guitars. ThIs guitar is made in North America, Canada specifically, not in an asian factory 7000 miles away. The body is slightly smaller than a dreadnought. I love it. Maybe hand sits directly over the sound hole because ts in the same position as in my electrics. I looked many times at similarly priced Taylors which are fine guitars, but I believed eve I made the best choice for me.Tony

Luckily for me Godin ships their guitars in the most solid air bubble armor that I've ever encountered. Right out of the box this guitar was ready to sing, and sing it did. Without tuning I played an Emajor and to my surprise it was in tune. About 3 minutes later, after the previously mentioned chord finally stopped ringing, I plugged her into the soundboard and the tone was impeccable and clear. It's a solid guitar as well. it doesn't feel thin or cheap. The action is low and the neck is smooth. I had my worries from blindly purchasing this unique masterpiece but I am very glad I trusted the reviews and description of this angelic bird. It truly is as described, if not better. I don't think you'll find a better acoustic electric in this price range.Derek

Girlfriend bought me a Seagull Entourage Rustic for my birthday and I loved the sound and build quality of the instrument. I've since purchased several for family members and friends as as first instrument or a "step-up". Every site said the S6 was the perfect starter…meh! Only problem with the Entourage Rustic was the nut width made finger picking a chore. I decided to purchase an S6. Playing it in store…rusty strings and all…I could tell it was perfect for my purpose. It has enough space between the strings to allow my fingers to pluck away. I'm finally getting it to the point where the top is aging and the sound is becoming resonant, harmonically rich, and almost three-dimensional. The Entourage Rustic is a great Strummer but mine is now my permanent DADGAD guitar. I tuned it down a whole step (CGCFGC… right?) and have put the capo on the second fret. This allows me a heavier set of strings and the spacing at the second fret is wide enough for my fingers. I may replace the second fret with a stainless steel fret in the near future…as my version of a "zero" fret. Incredible guitars made to impeccable standards…yeah, they've won a fanboi. I've also purchased a Taylor that's nice enough. I just seem to gravitate towards the Seagulls. Leaving the Taylor in the corner.JohnnyScottish
Just pulled my 30 yr old Seagull S6 out of its case for the first time in couple of years. It's not too pretty–the area around the soundhole is shredded from years of hard strumming, and the top is cracked in a couple spots from not being properly humidified and sitting in hot cars. Plenty of other acne from carelessness. So now for the good part. This guitar plays and sounds like a dream. I could hardly believe my ears!! For an inexpensive guitar this is an absolute jewel and I'm glad we are reunited. It's going to spend far less time in the case from now on.
I had a teacher who owned the old S6 model and I always loved the feel and sound of that guitar, it stuck in my head for years. I couldn't ever find one locally and I used to not trust buying guitars sight unseen online, until recently. I got a few less expensive instruments to test it out and was impressed w/ how perfect they showed up ready to play and matching the reviews in every regard, even the flaws. So I waited for the right coupon and bought the new and improved version of the dream guitar I always wanted and I'm so glad I waited and ended up w/ the new one because it's even better! The look is outstanding, mine is just like every picture you can find of one they are all perfect and uniform in appearance, some natural woods will have a lot of variance in grain and color, these all look the exact same. The sound is heavenly, this is where I feel this guitar beats it's predecessor and many other fine instruments like Taylors, Yamahas, and some Martins I've played. It has a very rich full tone and a shimmering quality to it's sustain that makes me think it just creates more natural harmonics and resonance than any other acoustic guitar I've ever played. I've been playing just over 15 years and have fooled around w/ at least 20-25 different acoustic guitars alone, I own 4 others aside from this one- and none of those can compare to this sound of this guitar. It can almost run you out of a small room if you're playing hard it projects so loud, and the resonance/sustain is unbelievable- as long as you can hold a note fretted it will keep ringing, when it starts to fade add vibrato and the sound comes back like it's hooked up to a amp w/ a lot of feedback. The most excellent tone and string spacing I've ever found for finger picking. It's just the right sound for an acoustic lead part w/ melodies and Travis picking because it's highs are higher than others. It feels perfect too w/ the semi gloss finish and that contoured neck, best acoustic guitar ever for the $.John
