Reviews:
This is a remarkable little amplifier. The positive reviews are all justified. Very diminutive, even senior management, who tends to frown when black boxes arrive, approves. And it produces a variety of great tones in remarkable amounts bearing in mind its small size. Perhaps not for the O2, but great in our lounge and enough muscle for a small venue before it gets a bit chesty. Very happy.biga268
I use it for practice. Although it has a bass setting you can program via the phone kit, the speaker is not as good as a basic bass amp like a fender rumble. The default presets sound the best, and if you need a different sound, it's probably best to use pedals on the clean setting. The effects aren't as good as I hoped for. The chorus effect is nice; but delay, reverb, and spring could be loads better. It gets the job done and I wasn't needing the other effects to be there at all so a good purchase for me, but if you need all the features to be awesome, look elsewhere.Waukegan

Reviews:
Before I review, I would like to say I am reviewing this product from a perspective as a gigging instrumental acoustic guitarist. Had to do an outdoor gig with no electric outlets available, that's when i looked into buying this thing, and it did the trick. Also had to fly somewhere across the country to do a gig where the venue didn't have a PA system, and I was able to pack this in my luggage, and this little thing did the job. For a tiny amp only a bit bigger than a Kleanax box, this thing is plenty loud. It's able to emmenate the volume to within about a 500 square feet coverage. Even louder if you play a distored electric guitar, as electric gutiar pickups don't consume as much power as an acoustic pickup. This is the perfect amp if you travel alot and need to fit something on the plane, for your living room, as a practice amp, for porch picking, camping, small coffeehouse venues (under 500 square feet), busking, or any scenario where there's no electric outlet nearby. Granted, this small little thing will not replace a PA system or something like an Acoustasonic Jr. I do a weekly coffeehouse gig (about 500 square feet) with my Fender Acoustasonic JR, and one day, my Acoustasonic JR wasn't working, so I brought in this little Roland instead. Granted, it was loud enough to fill up the whole entire coffeehouse volumewise, and although I much prefer to gig with this as it's super lightweight and won't hurt my back like the Acoustasonic JR, the sound didn't have the full definition as the Acoustasonic JR, or a real PA. Because of the tiny speakers, you only get treble, no bass response, less definition overall. However, as a portable battery-powered amp, this thing is awesome. It also serves mutiple purposes, I regularily plug my ipod to this and use it as a home stero system in my room.sman-eNpbJ
Bought the Roland MC over 10 years ago. I still own it and thought a review might help someone shopping for an amp. In my opinion, the Roland MC is a great solo or small group, highly portable, extremely low watt, practice session amp. For electric guitar, it sounds great clean with a tough of reverb, but don't expect much bass or volume. IMO, the Overdrive setting is just OK, and the Distortion/Fuzz is terrible. Before I forget, buy the AC power adaptor as battery life is very limited, especially at anything but the lowest volume settings. For the built-in effects, the chorus button works fine for the simplest applications, along with the somewhat adjustable delay, but there are lots of limitations. Consider them a nice "toy" feature of the amp, nothing more. As a PA, I found the Roland MC very useful, and used it for years with my acoustic-based, rock band as a single mike PA during our quieter practice sessions. It provided just enough amplification for lead vocals to cut through 2 guitars and an electric bass playing at low to medium practice volume levels. However, as soon as we added a drummer, it was over for the little MC. As far as battery use, I font recommend it. I tried it once on Halloween dressed as Brett Michaels playing "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" on acoustic-electric. Terrible performance. People started singing along and a friend turned up the volume…the amp had no dynamic range and actually get LESS loud the harder I strummed the guitar. The ultra low wattage of the amp severely limits its usefulness in performance scenarios. My son took the amp to college and he uses it in his dorm room where noise levels must be kept low but prefers practicing with a Scarlett USB interface and headphones and is looking for an amp with more power. Anyway, I hope you found this review helpful.Bruce S.
OK, I purchased this amp because of it's DC power, mic and instrument channels and small size. I'll use it for busking or jamming, anywhere I want without thinking about an AC outlet. I did purchase the AC adapter which came in very handy initially, given the batteries it came with were so weak the amp would not work properly. At first I thought the amp was malfunctioning. Strange things happen when battery juice is low. In my case there was sound break up, like there was short or bad connection. With AC power or a fresh set of batteries, it works well. If small and portable is your thing and you want mic and instrument inputs, this might be just what you are looking for. I've sure had fun with mine. So far, good. As I said in the review above, don't expect a really full sound with low end bass. All things considered, if you do not need the DC power option, I would see no reason to purchase this amp.More harmonica, please

Wasn't sure about this little guy – – but the one I received was in pristine shape, with power brick and carry handle. I power it with 6 rechargeable AA Lithium batteries – and it'll run x 6 hours easy without recharging. I play an acoustic guitar (i installed a Fishman rare earth pickup) in a small orchestra with a piano, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, etc, and only need to run at about 35% max volume to blend in well with the group. The effects are great and well modeled. I'm very happy with this Roland – Highly Recommended.oxydoc
I've taken up giving lessons in my home and, in other locations and, dragging around even a moderate size amp was not in my plans. I did some shopping and, came up with the Micro Cube as my answer, WOW what a feature filled little powerhouse! I debated going to just a plain small practice amp but, after I tried one it reminded me of trying to play through an old transistor radio. Very bland boring sound and, only a push button to get an overdrive sound that sounded pretty bad. This Roland unit sounds Fantastic at 3w and, with only a 5" speaker, I don't know how they do it but, it's Great!! The convenience of battery power is something that I really enjoy also. Take it anywhere! The FX sound Super, amp models are a nice touch and, even a tuner. The 1/8" input is a nice touch to jam with backing tracks or any type of sounds. Taking this to lessons is sooo much more handier than a 30lb. amp. There is only a tone control but, it is really all you need to get the sound you want. The memory function is a handy feature so save preset sounds for each amp model. The only thing I haven't tried is to plug a Mic in and, check it out but, I definately will and, I'm betting that the results will be positive there also. I'm soooo glad I spent the extra dinero and, went with this amp. I'm very satisfied and, definately recommend this anyone looking for small portable amp for practice or any other reason to have a light weight amp that sounds really good. I don't think that I would run a bass through it but, at low volume I wouldn't be surprised that it could handle it. I play a lot of different instruments, fiddle, mandolin, ulelele and, harmonica and, going to try them all in this amp.terrygh
In general this is a great little amp. It is loud, but its frequency range is narrow. I would expect something so small to be weak on bass, but I am surprised at how poor the high frequency is. I have to turn the tone all the way up to make it sound like a regular amp. I will try different speakers and the line out into a different amp to see if the poor high end is either the speaker or amp. The headphone output sounds much better, so I believe the issue is not in the internal electronics. In general I would recommend this amp. So much that I am buying another to give to my son in college as a dorm amp. He is interested in the headphone feature, which sounds very good. As a practice amp this little thing does a great job. The effects are better on some settings than others. but I think there are more effects on this amp than other brands. The portability is great. The battery life it pretty good for how loud it is. With the line input you can not only play along to songs, unaffected by the guitar effects, but it turns your phone into a loud jam box. There is a lot of loud "bang for the buck" in the little amp.Dowacky

Shipped fast. Works fantastic, light and powerful. Sounds great. I try to buy equipment that has multiple uses, this one does. A clean channel and a lead channel with four different gain styles. Three band tone stack works well. Power squeezer cuts output volume to resonable level. Headphone/line out and MP3 in. 15 loud watts into a good 8" speaker that handles whatever I have thrown at it from clean fingerpicking to EVH. Does Distortion and Metal very well. Also the clean channel sounds good on acoustic guitar or keyboards. Sturdy sealed box with metal grill and large edge protectors. Not as attactive as the Fender Frontman or Marshall MG, but will keep up soundwise.boatingus

Expected to purchase a Line6- tried every tiny amp I could plug in to. I knew what the Line 6 Spider15 had to offer- great range of effects and amp modeling in a small package. I wanted something that sounded like a real amp without looking like a mid-large amp sitting on the floor. I came across the Roland CUBELite and loved the balance of tone, features and packaging. It looks like a countertop radio, and in fact works great doubling as a powered speaker for my cell phone on the end table in my living room. It is not the most diverse clean sound, but it has two relative overdrive channels, and both sound great. The reverb is solid- the chorus is adequate. Unfortunately you can't use them both at the same time, but this is forgiveable in a tiny amp (about the size of a six pack). IN the end, the Line6 is more expressive in tone and features, but for a discrete LR amp, I'd take this one over the Spider most any day. Love it!Uncle Lester
Do you ever wonder why you can't quite achieve the tone of your favorite guitarist? You listen to the record, and you go to your amp and try to dial it in, but it's never quite right. If you're playing through a 40W amp, and the speakers of the recording are playing through 10W computer speakers, you'll never get there. This 10W amp, however, does just the trick. Paired with a pedal EQ, you'll now be able to get closer to your hero–whoever that may be–and those close to you won't be bothered while you're attempting to do so!JimsJams

Wanted a mobile rig to jam with family and friends. Hope to street busk soon when I learn enough songs. The street ex is loud, lighter than it looks in weight, and extremely versatile. The many input/ outputs gives the user many different options. I use the stereo inputs for my floor modelers, the street ex is capable of being an FRFR for the many digital modelers available today. I love the battery operated compartment design. It is loud and a great portable PA, my kids use it for home karaoke too. This PA has pretty good guitar tones. Limited in guitar amps and fx but it has the basics, that's why I use digital amp modelers run through stereo inputs. Doesn't have smart capabilities or an app interface. Lacks Bluetooth connectivity that many competitors offer. When run at max volume mix can get a little fizzy but distortion is low. Overall this PA masked as an amp is great if battery portability and loudness are important. If a guitar amp with fx and amp models are what your looking for this is not it. It is very well built and can take many inputs. Great for outdoor gatherings and hangouts. I use it on my pontoon many of times. It's an on the go rig must have.Fatback Benny
First, I would NOT consider this a guitar amp, and if you buy it as one you'll probably be disappointed. The COSM is fine and nice to have, but the guitar amp tones just aren't good enough to hang with real amps. I find there's always too much mid range muddiness that I can't dial out with EQ. As a mini PA, though, this is a great option. It gets plenty loud, the battery power option is great, there are good input and output options to allow you to use it as a powered monitor for a larger PA setting or connect it with other powered speakers to expand your sound. My vocals and acoustic guitar sound really nice through it. I've gigged a LOT with this for a few years, and it has held up well. It's really lightweight and I appreciate being able to roll into a gig with a very light and broken down setup. I've played small to medium sized rooms packed with people and never needed to turn this more than 75% up. Probably not gonna be enough with a full band, especially if your drummer and guitar amps like to play loud, but for duos and acoustic gigs, great option. When you consider how versatile it is, I think it's well worth it.Someguy
Damn good little amp, the modelling component is a little bit half assed, but usable nonetheless. I love that I can pick it up with 2 fingers, it can be bloody loud if you wish it so. Strangely enough rechargeable batteries last longer than ordinary ones. One thing missing is the ability to charge the rechargeable batteries. All in all pretty happy with the purchase.Ian F.

Reviews:
Roland CM30 review: This amp is advertised as having 30 watts, but, not advertised as peak or RMS power. Let me assure you that it is 30 watts of peak power. The RMS power is always 1/4 of the peak power. So, this is a 7.5 watt RMS (useable power) amp. Imagine the top speed of your car is 130 mph, that is the "Peak" power of your car. But, everytime you get behind the wheel you drive at 65 mph or slower, that is the useable power of your car (RMS). If you drive your car at its peak power everytime you get behind the wheel, that engine will only last you for a very, very short time. The same with your amp, if you try to use its full (peak) power all the time, it's not going to last long and be prepared to shell out more money for a new amp. This is an over-priced bedroom studio or practice amp and not a performing amp. However, it is built solid and it does have a clean sound and a nice tone. I have a Kustom PA50 which I compared with this amp side by side. The Kustom PA50 also has a nice and clean tone, 3 independent channels each with its own EQ, two 4.5 inch drivers and a horn with MUCH louder volume, solid construction and clean craftsmanship for a fraction of the price of Roland CM-30. And it weighs only 2 lbs more than this Roland. This comparison made me love my Kustom PA50 even more than I did before. Needless to say, I shipped back the Roland CM-30 and ordered another Kustom PA50; I can hook them up together for 100 watts of power.Sagittarius
This cube speaker was purchased for the sole purpose of aiding me in PowerPoint Presentations in which I have embedded videos with sound. The speaker in the projector is inadequate and a cheap 30 watt speaker system that I purchased at a big box store (that sells, groceries, bicycles, tires, hunting supplies, clothing, etc…big W), did not perform. This cube speaker has deep rich sound that reaches to my audience, without compromising sound. I was not sure if I wanted to spend the money, but immediately realized it was money well spent as soon as I used it. Fantastic!Justin
I was looking for another amp for my Nord Electro 6D so gave this little box a try. I have been impressed by its clarity and power. It performs well above its weight class. The rotary organs sound brilliant and all the electric pianos have deep timbre and crystal clear high note tinkles. While it's true you couldn't play for hundreds at a full recital hall with the CM-30, it is so small and easy to use – just about everywhere else you will sound great! It's a professional quality piece of gear and I think it is a tremendous value at its price point. I promise you won' regret buying this little gem.T Dame
12. Roland Cube-10gx

I'll start with the bad because there isn't much. First they claim the cube kit app works with Android but when going to Google play or the Roland website it couldn't be found. I had to use my wife's IPhone. Second the volume knob is like an on off switch. 0-4 make about 75%of the volume adjustment and 4-10 does the rest. The speaker sounds good at low volumes. I use the rectifier amp model and it really has a good sound. But at higher volumes the lows completely drop off and the mids/highs get muddy. To be expected from a 8" speaker. I replaced the speaker with a celestion eight 15 and it really woke this little amp up. This amp has two speaker channels into a dual voice coil speaker. So I ran one into the celestion and one to an output jack to a Randall rg8 cab. Now it makes a wall of crunchy rock sound that more than fills my 16'x26' studio. All in all an awesome amp for the money. It produces a sound that is better than a lot of high end combo or stacks I owned back in the day. A footswitch would be nice but then it wouldn't be so cheap.Andy

Reviews:
I was lent this amp from a pal before buying one. Really really like it. The vocals are superb and the guitar voicings are really handy. I play an uke, acoustic, semi acoustic guitar thru it and get a great sound. Recently got a Jazzmaster Single Coil and running this thru the amp on our mains get a hell of a lot of noise. However, running it thru the battery all the noise is gone. This is normal apparently. My daughter has used it for busking and it does a great job. RecommendedReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This busking amp is perfect. I have already performed with it 5 times and my colleagues are all jealous. I love its' longevity. I love that it has alternative sonic settings ie. distortion. I love that I can accompany myself with two mics, or play with a friend. 100% would recommend.C-stine
I just used this amp at an outdoor gig lawn type affair, lots of people. Guitar and vocals. I dreaded dragging my PA system and all the stuff that goes with it so I just took the Cube. It gave plenty of coverage and good sound. I had no complaints everyone could hear me. No I was not blowing the solo cups off tables but it was plenty loud enough. And to mention I was loaded in and out in no time. I felt like I was forgetting something. (I used the pedals I usually use for guitar and my Boss simple harmony pedal that has effects also). Use the guitar setting on the amp and then play with the volume and gain knobs to get your desired volume. I had the 50 watt one long time ago but never needed the full 50 watts and it was heavier. Don't discount this amp because it's only five watts.AZ Solo

Reviews:
Brilliant amp. If you are not a sixteen year old, mouth breathing Slash fan and want your electric guitar to actually sound like a guitar then this is the amp to get. Fantastic clean tones, great digital reverb and amazing stereo chorus. Beautifully built. Built like a tank. Small, looks great, simple, clear controls and lots of useful features (stereo input etc). Great value too – it won't break the bank.Chris H.
Honestly, I have played through JC-120s before and I always associated them with that 80s bright chorus sound, but they have flipped the script at Roland. This is an anniversary year and so they came out with this amp and the JC-40 and JC-120. I loved the tone so much from this amp that I bought two JC-40 twins. They all have stereo input, stereo effects loops or mono if you prefer. This is a great deal on a small amp. The only thing the JC-22 didn't have compared to the JC-40 was distortion, but the distortion isn't that great and I doubt anyone would really use it much. The Chorus and the Vibrato are excellent and a headphone and line out jack is supplied. Another great feature is the series or parallel switch for your effects loop. Really surprised Roland. The tube amp gets to stay home now for the small gigs.studiospace1999
So pleased with this, was looking for a good clean amp with a balanced frequency response and I couldn't have gotten anything better for the money. If you're looking for a good amp for home recording and use and don't need built in distortion this could be just about the best choice you could make. Probably loud enough for smaller shows too. Built in effects a gorgeous, especially the chorus (as you might guess)jafl-5571

Reviews:
This amp has a wide range of settings to dial in whatever sound you need for various types of guitars and pickups. I was a little disappointed in the volume limitation when plugging in my acoustics with passive pickups- they just didn't have any punch even with the dial turned up, but that was corrected somewhat with an XLR>RCA converter jack to boost the signal. Also the pre-amp in the effects box I have does the same thing. It produced great tone and presence on an electric 12 string, classical, and irish bouzouki which all have active pickups. What really impressed me was how it handles vocal and instrument together. No feedback and plenty of headroom. I'm glad I settled on this model to meet my needs rather than some of the others out there of the same capabilities. The looper is another fun feature that allows you to lay some percussive rhythm down to play along to, or a chord progression to build upon. Another plus is its small footprint and light weight for portability. I plan to be using it in small rooms where it fills the space without being over bearing. It is a perfect tool for solo performances, but would probably hold its own in a small group as well.super-perfundo
I am very pleased with this amplifier. It is very small, (like a large lunchbox) and light. 8 AA batteries can power this or you can use the included ac/dc inverter. After playing with the mic input and plugging my Taylor; its obvious that this is the easiest to use and best sounding acoustic amp I own. Subtle nuances in voice and guitar are replicated so clearly, I forget which part is already recorded on the looper and what is the live part I am playing! No kiddin, its that good! Speakin of the looper, that is probably the best practice feature of any piece of gear I own. Nothing fancy, and 40 seconds tops, but it is falling off a log ez and really does give you enough time to lay down a basic track. My guitar has never sounded so crisp and clean, ambience/chorus on both channels are very high quality! Don't let the size fool you, this isn't a toy, but I guarantee if you get one, you will wanna play for hours! Few pieces of gear have ever been such a pleasant surprise!wdc27909

This amp is the holy grain of tone I have been searching for at a volume my wife and kids can live with. If you want that classic fender tone achievable at volumes that won't upset the neighbours or wake the kids but you can still gig with……this is the amp for you. I have been trying to achieve that classic Clapton fender/music man sparkle and this amp does it easy. I barely use my pedals other than my compressor. All in all very happy indeedReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Overall: I have owned a multitude of amps over the past 25 years – primarily from Fender and Mesa Boogie. This amp is as good as any high end tube amp I've owned. It packs a load of heat at 30 watts that will send anyone who wants save their hearing running for the hills. I've played plenty of outdoor gigs, and the Blues Cube Hot can reach out to large crowds like a high powered 4×10. The attenuator is an awesome feature that tames this beast down to bedroom levels without sacrificing tone or sustain. I'm sold on Rolands. Buy this amp, take it to a jam, and just don't tell anyone it's a solid state. Watch the tube snobs say how great it sounds, and then decide for yourself if you want to make them eat crow. The boost and tone buttons really add a nice enhancement when used with the Boss FS-6 footswitchRobert
This is a guitar players amp giving a classic Fender sound. Simple to use without the displays and presets on modelling amps. The cool thing is the output power selector that will give classic sounds at room volume which is something a tube amp can't compete with. The volume control goes from clean to the edge of breakup with the master volume setting the sound level. Others have suggested running the master at the max setting but I don't go with that. The boost button gives a good drive sound that can be adjusted with the volume. I have the Tone button on all the time as it seems best for my pickups. So unlike the many modelling amps that don't really excel at any particular sound, this amp and speaker have come really close to a vintage tube amp sound. It is really robust and well built, the only negative is the hole it burnt in my wallet.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
