This thing is easily worth 4 times the price. The build quality is impeccable. The binding is perfectly flush, the finish is beautiful and evenly applied and the intonation was extremely close out of the box (I only had to move the G string saddle back a bit to set it, all the other strings were perfect). The headstock has a nice molded profile to the sides – this is something I haven't seen on other Epiphone guitars. The PRO p90 pickups are fantastic. I have 11 other electrics from an epi 335 to a Gibson Les Paul Traditional to modded teles and strats and I never could quite find that classic clear tone with a thick rich drive when you dig into it that I've been looking for – this Casino has that sound! Every website/listing likes to talk about the Beatles… that comparison doesn't speak to what this guitar is capable of. This is more in line with Gary Clark Jr., The Black Crowes, Jack White and The Allman Brothers Band sounds. Think rich, bluesy rock. It's much cooler than "the Beatles guitar". Plug this sucker into a Vox and you're in business. The C shape neck is very comfortable- it has a flat back with rounded sides. Plus, with the satin finish your hand moves more freely up and down the neck. It's nice to play unplugged too, it's fully hollow so it plays/sounds like a quieter acoustic unplugged. The knobs/pots are really cool looking and work great with no scratching. They have even adjustments – no quick falls after a certain number like you see with others in this price range. They have a cool old school tab to show where you are on the dial (no pictures show this little detail). All in all – super cool vintage vibe, sweet clean tone with a fun roaring bite on the gain – excellent guitar.

Don't hesitate on adding this beauty to your collection. Absolutely stunning and flawless from top to bottom. She plays and sounds incredible. Made in USA. The unique qualities of Myrtle wood gives it a very distinctive,one of a kind look and well rounded voice. Each one is made just for you. Sound: In regards to “sound” “presence” this pretty girl has enough for the price; in fact, it rings most crisp at the high end with nice low end presence for it’s size. Plugged in, it is actually expectable for strumming and picking! It’s size is just awesome for living room small studio or patio sessions (actually, I have laid down some sweet tracks using this well rounded acoustic) The electronics are acceptable enough- though I am going to upgrade mine because I do use it constantly. The Soft case is very nice and durable. My ONLY knock, the string holes/bridge assembly, cedar non-pin; the eyes of the strings are beginning to stress the inlets “widening them” due to the steel recessing the wood; the eyelets literally seated against it. This is a miner issue and a commonly used one. It makes stringing the the Breedlove most easy and quick, no pins popping with sting winding- This is definitely a most awesome beginners acoustic-it is definitely far more guitar for the money; however. If it’s a impulse thing-all of a sudden wanting to learn and play guitar- or young beginners- wrong guitar! There are far better values in the 150.00 to 200.00 dollar range, decent and not as much of an investment if the “fire” “urge” burns out becoming closet/attic clutter or family room/bedroom decor! I made this mistake years ago before I got serious and completely committed to the passion playing easily two hours or more a day- if the passion sets in getting “GAS” (Gear Acquisition Syndrome), this IS a perfect acoustic to move up to. If you want larger gear, the Fender California Series is very tight, most sweet for $429.00, I have a Redondo that shreds! Entirely different guitar though and do not recommend for beginners because of its fret length, width and strength required to ring out the chords- especially bar chords. (Ibanez, Epiphone, Fender, Yammah, all make suitable beginners gear between $89..00 and $200.00 dollars…..) Papa Laughing-Bear, Hangtown Ca. What a great guitar! Really beautiful finish all glossy but the neck is as smooth as silk I don't know what they use but it's so nice to play. The guitar sounds very well rounded with a little extra in the low end. So the Reverb and Chorus sounds with a touch of a button are ultra cool, kinda like surround sound. You get used to it real quick very inspirational. Yamaha really went above and beyond on this one. With or without the electronics this is a great sounding instrument but with a trick like that I'm using it. Plugged in sounds amazing! There's no bass or treble knobs? So the EQ they give you is what you get really nice bass response though and the highs are very clear, I was impressed. Just an absolute joy to play.

Overall: The fit and finish on this Mexican-made guitar is terrible! The cheaper Indonesian-made version I have is much much better. Fender should be ashamed of themselves for turning out product like this. The frets are not finished on either edge. They'll cut you if you're not careful. The binding on the lower bout is much wider than on the upper bout. The toggle switch is noisy, doesn't engage well, and is cheap feeling. The intonation setup on arrival was not only severely off on the lower strings, but required moving to the alternate saddle screw location on the Floyd bridge. I have other Mexican-made instruments as well. They are all substandard, but this one is the worst. Cannot recommend any Mexican-made Fender instruments.

Overall: A bit o background: this is my 15th LP since 1980, and 12th Epi since 2006. Never had a bad or defective one, and the runs just seem to get better and better. Epiphone makes a quality & very tuneful Les Paul guitar. This ‘59 is unlike any previous LP I’ve had. The custom shop influence is very apparent, both in the components, spec & build. Neck is definitely a chunker, feeling more like a ‘58 than ‘59. Slightly more pronounced than my 2019 Gibson original series 50s GoldTop. My long-neck tenon guitars (2019 Gibson 50s, 2018 Epi Slash Anaconda burst, Epiphone “Inspired By” 50s), coupled with thicker necks are noticeably more solid in the tone department – HUGE proponent of the long tenon guitars! Wouldn’t label the Southern Fade finish as “matte”, but a slick satin – finish is consistent throughout the entire guitar, and the neck feel is ideal, as opposed to gloss. The flame is not overly apparent, but has a sweet warm glow. Has a look of some of our 70’s classic rock heroes (Mick Ralphs, Jimmy Page). I always expect to send each guitar to my setup guy for one reason or another – except for this one: it checked off all the boxes (neck relief, action, string tension) – all dead on perfect, which I can only assume by pure accident, or maybe good attentive custom shop QC??? The very good, classic looking case is the welcome bonus that makes this series a spectacular deal. The icing on this cake!

Overall: Had glowing things (like nearly all reviewers) to say about my ‘59 – *it is a great guitar*. I’ve never had cause to give “manufacturers (Epiphone/Gibson) support” a negative rating. I’ve had at least 15 Les Paul’s of both brands without any issues at all…until the ‘59. After my first “amplified” play – come to find out BOTH volume pots are defective; one locks up @ 50% rotation, with no audible volume to that point, the other provides no audible volume until after 75%. It’s been over three weeks since filing my initial warranty case w/Epi-Gibson, with follow up inquiries- with*ZERO* action taken as of today. Needless to say – extremely disappointed at the customer service performance so far. I love the guitar – I got a helluva good chunk of wood with this one, and don’t want to lose it.

The Fender CD-60 sce is a quality guitar for the money. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate player the guitar seems to be built to last. The solid spruce top and the internal build of the guitar creates a good sound that allows the treble tones to ring out, as well as keep the mellow low tones of a Fender guitar. The narrow neck, and thin profile allows for somebody with smaller hands to play it a little easier. As any new guitar especially at this price point, you can make some adjustments to help with the action and minor fret BuZz, but overall out of the packaging the guitar comes ready to play and sounds very good. Fishman and Fender partnering up in the pickup make a quality sound out of the PA. Remember there is better quality gear and guitars out there, but this guitar does exceed it's price point in the quality it produces.

I am lovin' this guitar! This was the acoustic sound upgrade I was looking for from my Gibson J-45 Standard, and then some! The 1942 Banner J-45 and the Standard are really two different guitars in every way. The sound is wide and broad and deep and has everything a Standard lacks: the 1942 Banner sound is big, the Standard sound is small and not at all on the same level. The build quality on this guitar is exceptional (on par with Martins) and I appreciate the bone bridge, nut and pins. The thin finish really lets the top vibrate and you can see and appreciate the wood grain and wood color on the sides and neck. Less bling, more growl with this model. I could sell every other guitar I own and be content with this Gibson 1942 Banner J-45, and my Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. Both guitars are so very different, but the quality and depth of the sound is the same. They ring forever with layers of overtones. They really compliment each other and yet hold their own against each other. The sound is incredible on this Banner J-45, once the guitar starts to open up from regular playing. It has that big dry Mahogany sound. I am so excited to have this Gibson! I feel I have found my two forever guitars in this Gibson 1942 Banner and my Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. Many thanks to my Sales Engineer, Jake Barker, who counseled and advised me on upgrading to the 1942 Banner J-45 from the Standard – and all the other conversations and help along the way too. I have become a believer in the torrefied Adirondack top and bracing making a difference in regards to sound. Maybe it is just the sound quality of the pre-war models that floors me. The neck is thick with a comfortable rounded C shape. If you can afford it, buy it, it's worth it! Minuses: Not a fan of the tuners, I find them cheap looking from the back – but they hold tune. The "period correct case" is OK, but the latches are small and thin and don't inspire confidence; the standard modern case is better with the big locking latches.

Sound: It sounds good, it just needs better attention to detail on the manufacturers part. It sounds good in the blues rock/early 70s metal setting that i play Features: 2 humbuckser. Pretty basic, but iconic. Ease of Use: It would be easier if the frets were leveled correctly at the factory Quality: Needs feet work Value: Needs to be dropped down sub 300 with that fret work The Wow Factor: Looks good. Needs work right out of the box Overall: It needs fretwork out of the box. Which is pretty unacceptable. I’m tempted to send it back and try again, but I think I’ll just get fretwork done, as I don’t expect a replacement to be much better really. Sounds good when it isn’t buzzing.
