This controller is very responsive, and Ive learned some useful finger techniques from using it. I would definitely recommend it as a fun alternative to the real thing, especially if you plan on eventually trying to play a real guitar.codename_chris

I use this on Rock Band 3 for PS3 with a MIDI Pro box (also available on Mighty Ape) and a standard MIDI cable and it works perfectly – even starpower and the control buttons work (though the controls have the Wii symbols on them). The fret buttons are ok – could have been better designed: different widths for each of the "strings" would make it much easier to feel where your fingers are going, same for the nylon strings when trying to pick specific strings. The game is pretty good at stepping you through different guitar techniques and then through the different sections of each song (so you could play them on a real guitar too).Allen

Rock band has surpassed itself with its latest version of the Rock Band Stratocaster. No clacky strum bar that ruins play, this time has even improved on previous models, that compared to the racket made by Guitar Hero peripherals is playable without having to use noise cancelling headphones. And because the neck buttons are quite subtle it also looks like a real guitar. OK one that's 3/4 the size. My new fave guitar peripheral.houndofculaine

I read that you can use the older Rock Band guitar controllers with the PS4. This is only partially true. They will play the songs but don't control the menu system. You really do need the new Guitar controller for the PS4 to get the full benefit of the game. Still got my old PS3 for all the Guitar Hero & Rock Band games I ownokmartin24

I am both surprised and please with this guitar I purchased this guitar at GC Nashville after returning a Gibson Les Paul Classic that I bought online. (lesson learned, don't buy from GC online.) The staff there were great and had no issues with me returning a $2200 guitar that I bought online. Even more supportive in helping me pick out a much less expensive guitar. Great people. This Epiphone is awesome. The fit and finish are great. The action is low and no buzz. The tone is great and It is lighter and easier to handle than the Gibson . The best part is it cost a third of the one I returned. I really wanted a Gibson but I am so glad I picked up this Epiphone. A word of caution. I looked at and played several guitars at GC before choosing this one. I even played a couple of other Epiphone Les Paul Customs. No two were the same. One had razors for frets, one had an action you could drive a truck under and this one was just right. Go in an play them before buying.Mike

I'm in a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. I wanted a period-correct guitar but could not afford a Turner or a Gibson Les Paul so I settled for the Epiphone. I was pretty happy with the guitar the first month….until at rehearsal, I "lost" my high E string. At first, it appeared to have disappeared off the fretboard. But upon careful examination, I found the string caught under the 5th fret 'tang'(?). The fret itself was not perfectly flush with the fretboard, leaving just enough of a tiny gap to catch the string as it rolled off the fretboard during playing with finger vibrato. Upon further examination, it looked like frets 4, 6 and 7 were not quite flush either. I remedied the situation somewhat by purchasing a Stew-Mac roller bridge that allowed me to slightly shift the string positions further in and away from the fretboard edge. I had previously attempted to pressure-seat the offending frets with a woodblock and hammer, but they would not budge. The roller bridge seemed to help somewhat. But today at rehearsal, I felt some stinging irritation on the inside of my left thumb near the 'web' between thumb & forefinger when I moved my hand quickly up and down the neck. Looking closely at the frets, I noticed that the end edges were extremely sharp as if having never been dressed properly. All that said, I realize this instrument is a 'budget' one when compared to American-made Gibson / Fender / PRS products. I'd read some great reviews on this guitar and made the purchase on that basis. But, once again, it is the same old story – "you get what you pay for". I should not have expected the same build quality and attention to detail like that found on instruments costing four times as much. I suppose a refret is the only solution now. Buyer beware.CHUCK

The software version that came with our purchase was v1.0. When you insert the disk, the game console checks to see if there's a new version. We played v1.0 while v2.03 downloaded in the background. The game is VERY jumpy and pauses often which made it impossible to play – very annoying! We thought maybe the update download was causing troubles but we had troubles even after the download was complete. The new version 2.03 won't even start!!! I've opened two support tickets with the game manufacturer (not Playstation) and they give me the "reboot and it will work" – not the case. I've updated firmware to the instruments and all kinds of steps to resolve. At this point the manufacturer won't even respond. Merry Christmas kids – your parents thought the product would work but we'll be returning it to Target instead.Milton Mike

I was so happy to actually find this bundle. If you can find this during the pandemic for a good price do not hesitate, but it immediately. This has been so much fun for my family and friends. The guitar is my personal favorite but no matter what role you take on, you are 100% going to have a blast. They also have an amazing sound track with a lot more to offer via DLC.delorein.h

Rockband 4 is the definitive experience on PS4. Guitar Hero Live sucks on so many levels. This however keeps the basic formula fresh! With a better wireless guitar controller (which took me a while to get used to but now I love it!) and updated graphics and effects, Rockband remains true to what made these games so great (unlike GH Live, seriously that game sucks). HOWEVER your enjoyment of all these types of games always comes down to lag compensation, if you haven't got your TV set up just right you're gonna have a bad time. It took me weeks to get mine set up just right, but once I did I was shredding through songs on expert like I was born to it! BE WARNED this is very much a DLC song. The on disc track list is the weakest of any Rock Band/ Guitar Hero game for a long time. I literally only bought this for that one 'Mumford and Sons' and 'The Killers' song :p But after sinking an embarrassing amount of money into downloadable tracks, I now have over 300 songs in my library and it's GREAT! I play this ALL THE TIME! Thankfully, Harmonix have had the best post-game launch support I've seen in ages, with regular game updates that actually improve performance and fix little bugs, and by far the best part is that there has been a CONSTANT stream of new DLC almost every week, with not just old favourites, but a tonne of modern songs that a popular right now! I love checking each week and seeing a song I love hearing on the radio being brought to Rockband 4! Another major downside is that although your old guitar and drum controllers will work with this game, you cannot sign in to an PSN account with them, so your scores will never be saved AND it causes alot of performance issues in band play. I HOPE it's not just a problem with the game like in the previous titles where it works fine when there's only one player, but as soon as you get two people playing it lags and makes you miss notes that you hit. If this is still a problem even if you have all modern controllers then THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! I SHOULD NOT BE PENALIZED WHEN I'M GOING 100% ON A SONG AND JUST BECAUSE MY FRIEND ISN'T DOING SO WELL IT SAYS I MISS NOTES. But other than that the game is incredibly fun. I had been wanting a Les Paul for a while, I was looking around and saw many new and used Les Pauls at many different web sites. I also reviewed all of them at the Gibson web site. After many months of searching, I saw this one on sale, I looked it up again at Gibson, it fit with all the features I wanted and more. I am glad, so glad I made this purchase.Dutch

It's a non-weight relieved Les Paul, very heavy, with great time. The finishing touches are 10 notches above the Studios I have owned in the past. The tone of the '57's is really the best humbucker sounding guitar I own. The special electronics, really sound like a single coil and the ability to switch between the screw and slug coils in single coil mode is amazing for a bit thicker single coil sound. The 10bd boost sounds killer in all modes, humbucker or either single coil mode. This guitar unlike the Studios I have owned STAYS in tune, I'm sure the Grover locking tuners help but I believe it is more about the QC that went into the build. The neck is straight, placement of the TOM bridge and Stop Tail Piece are in the correct position and it's the first Gibson I have purchased that did not have a goofed up nut, it's cut correctly. Did I just finally get lucky after who knows how many guitars that have blown through my front door. My ears are too sensitive, I can hear all the notes when I play and this is the 1st guitar I have ever purchased that I did not have to spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to set-up because open cords sounded way off and pickups were off balance, to loud on the highs and to low on the opposite. I could not be happier, the fit and finish are perfect, the playability is as good as it can be and the tone is what I have been chasing for years. I told my wife, I'm never selling this guitar. My advice buy it if you can afford to do so it's a real Gibson Les Paul.Rob S

I always wanted a Les Paul and took advantage of a great price. Musicians Friend shipped quickly. The Traditional Pro IV is outstanding! I did have to spend some time to properly set it up, which I consider normal, and it has exceeded my hopes. A few notes about the published specs, as they are not 100% accurate. This model is an exclusive MF/GC model and Gibson doesn't publish specs. Here's what I know. It shipped with a box that says Pro III which has Satin back and neck and different pick ups. This guitar has a gloss red back and neck. Very nice! Pickups are classic 57 and Super 57. In the bridge pickup cavity is written LPTP36 which means Les Paul Traditional Pro 3 60's neck. I much prefer the 60's neck so I'm very happy with the discrepancies. It is a bit on the heavy side at 9lbs 11 ounces. Very pleased with the guitar and can't put it down!Unlikely Blue

We needed to add a 2nd guitar, so we found one at Walmart. Same as the guitar that comes with Rock Band, so no surprises. All we need now is new drumsticks.DaftPunkHelmet

Playing too harshly can break the fret buttons and strumbar. But no more. This product works well and for now on be more ware of dropping, thrashing, and harsh-playing this guitar.Videogamereader
