The bridge saddle, super Treble Saddle, guitarneck nut, and super treble nut are made of to soft of a material. No amplification for Bass or Super Treble. The fret job was superb, as well as the action. The finish of the fingerboard was very nice but not oiled a good coat of lemoil did wonders. The strings were horribly oxidized with black spots and pitting, very bad for a new instrument. Over all nice for the price. Also no tuner for the Super Trebles.jstmsnu123

Needs complete setup. Only After adjusting the neck. lowering the saddle and after removing the nut and properly seating it was it playable. It now plays reasonably well and I can enjoy it. Ok, this thing does not sound like a Martin. To be honest with you, I've been a Martin man for 15 years. At first I was unsure about the sound. Trust me though, although this is not the typical type of guitar I play, this thing is great. Action out of the box is great and it plays like a dream. Construction is perfect. This guitar has the balanced sound you would expect from a Larrivee. The bass end is a little better than most Larrivee guitars. The bass is not heavy like a Martin, but the sound is still fantastic. The sound of the string separation is my favorite part. Do yourself a favor and pick this gem up. Plus the binding around the body, binding around the finger board, cool headstock and tuners, and cool fretboard markers make this one of the coolest looking guitars I've ever seen.MSamericana
I have owed dozens of acoustic guitars, both dreadnoughts and OMs, including a Martin Marquis D28 I paid four thousand+ for and several high end Taylors … and I can unequivocally say this is the best acoustic guitar for the money I have ever played or owned – hands down. Yes, it is plain, simple, unadorned, etc., but playability, tone, intonation, tuning stability, bang for the buck – all are "off the charts." I compared the mahogany model to the rosewood repeatedly and, while I understand the tonal complexity of rosewood vs. mahogany, I ultimately decided to go for more "stud" and less "thud"! Rosewood "thud" just wasn't what I really wanted, and so mahogany was the right choice. This D-20 still has plenty of thump and thud on the low E and the A string, but the higher strings (pitch-wise) are more crystalline and clear, and will probably "cut through the mix" a bit better than rosewood. It sounds somewhat like a sonic blend between a D-28 (rosewood) and your average Taylor's high end tone. I AM HAPPYBrian

I owned and played one of these semi-pro for a decade back in the '80s because it was a hassle switching from 6 to 12 string guitars and always having to redial the amp for the different pickup outputs. The heavy mahogany body (and it IS heavy, especially neck-heavy, the reason for the 4 rating) produces crystalline sound with excellent articulation and sustain and the output between necks is well-balanced. The 1275 gave me the versatility and ease of switching (one switch) that I wanted and a sound I loved. My single-neck 12s have been Rics. The 1275 lacks the Ric "jangle" but that's a minor drawback. I also owned a Carvin koa doubleneck: decent 12 string half, totally useless 6 string, but it was well-balanced weight-wise. I played a BC Rich "Bich" doubleneck and the thing is an ergonomic nightmare and didn't sound nearly as good as the Gibson. I installed a belt hook on my strap for the 1275 keep the necks from falling down when I let go and it worked well. If you want a doubleneck, get the Gibson.Jerry
