The fret job was superb, as well as the action. The finish of the fingerboard was very nice but not oiled a good coat of lemoil did wonders. Very easy to use, I bought it because I was hit by a car and was almost killed, I had severe internal injuries, over 15 fractures and 6 surgeries with at least 3 more in the near future. I had severe neck trauma that after all my internal trauma pain eased up the neck pains didn't. On heavy pain meds for over 4 months I needed to stop them as they were doing very little to help. I went in for neck rehab and one of the treatments was cervical traction. I could feel this helping so I purchased this unit and it has done wonders. So, I purchased this because I need a nice kit for setup. one thing to know is several items dont work for bass. Also all of the items are pretty cheap. In retrospect I should have gone online and purchased a leather bag and individually purchased the items needed to setup a bass or guitar. The flashlight is cheap, the screwdriver is bottom of the rung. The clippers are cool, they are spring loaded but also poor quality (doesn't want to click light gauge strings towards the tip. The multitool doesn't open well and it super cheap quality. It wouldn't even fit into the truss hole and it was the wrong size for my Ibanez… If it was the right size, I couldn't get it to work… so there's that. the best feature is the zip case. its the most well made part of the whole deal. very disappointing.SamuelPlayzon

It leaked quite a bit during shipping, but it seems Musicians Friend knows that because they put it into a plastic bag. Was hoping for the best when this was purchased, but this kit is just ok, nothing special. The neck cleaner worked pretty well, but not as well as naptha, and the conditioner didn't work as well as I had hoped, either. Have been using Luthier's Choice, from Gibson, but I have to buy polish, conditioner, and string cleaner as a set. I have enough of the conditioner to last 10 lifetimes now, so was looking for something I could buy when I needed it and not have to fill a cabinet with unused stuff. I'll stick with Luthier's Choice for the time being and give all my friends the spare conditioner for Christmas, I guess. Doubt I'll use the Dunlop kit again. I bought this product to clean the fretaboards of my Fender Jag and Martin D-41. After the first use I can already tell that I am going to keep a bottle of this in my arsenal at all times. I've been using Fingerease for many years. It works great, as advertised… When used correctly, quiets string chatter, definitely speeds my playing, prolongs string life, helps keep calluses just moist enough so they don't dry and peel off, prevents the long day/gig finger tip pain, makes slides effortless. Works great at outdoor gigs when humidity or sweat cause finger and hand to neck drag. Surprisingly, does not cause your fingers to slip off the string while doing bends. The only complaint I have, be it small is, once you take the cap off the first time it never stays put when you place it back on can. That can cause a problem if stored in a "gig bag". This review in which I have observed and feel may not be persuaded to others, but this is not my intention in doing at all. So I want to clarify that it is an ok use for but for some critique reasons. First off, I am still a fan of this product to this day, and yes I have use this quite often. BUT, there are some few things you have to be aware of when you buy this. Most of the times when I change strings it's because they feel stiff and I have no I idea why they keep feeling stiff most of the time, until I come to realize it's the finger ease that's being in use. Here is my tip on buying a product. "ALWAYS READ WHAT'S ON THE BACK!" and yes, I have to learn this the hard way. The 1st line of the 1st paragraph is the crucial evident you have to think about, in which the part is read, "Reduces finger tenderness-stops string talk…" To me, that would mean that it will stiffen the strings to the point where there will be little or no string talk, in which case, you'll be sacrificing string bending. Many songs that are played are highly used for bending strings and such, but if you don't do strings bending at all, you wouldn't care much at all then. Also, this takes away you callous from your fingers! "…residue transfers from strings to fingers and conditions callouses, keeping soft and smooth without snags." I don't know if I am interpreting correctly, but YOU NEED TO HAVE HARD CALLOUSED FINGERS TO PLAY GUITAR OR ANY OTHER STRING INSTRUMENT! I think that this is good for nylon strings but not steel strings at all… I replaced my old elixirs nanoweb .009 over dunlop .009 and it was very good at first when I played to stretch out the strings, but after when I applied the finger ease to the strings, it just started to sound and feel really different. Now, many of you who may read this read this review will not agree with me maybe because most of you have better experience with the this more than me; But this is my experience with the product which is the reason why I'm giving this a 3 stars. It is not a good product, but it is not bad either. For now, this product will be my last can when I finish it. Until the manufacturer improves this product, I will buy it once again. By the way, the guitar that I put my strings on is a Charvel DST-FR1 which is similar to the LTD/ESP Gus-g Random star.

What I love about this mat is the non slip texture that it has. Before I got this I use to use a towel to lay down my guitar on top of. As you can imagine I’d have to keep readjusting the towel every few minutes. Unless you have access to this kind of material I say get one. You won’t be disappointed.
There are plenty of these mats with built-in headrests that are thicker and plenty more expensive, and if you're setting up a permanent workshop you might consider one of those. But if you're working on your guitar (or banjo or mandolin or violin or ukulele or…) in your own home, you're probably not gonna have a dedicated space to do that. So, you throw down a towel on the kitchen table and go to work. This beats the crap out of that. Thick that you won't ding and dent your gear but thin enough you can roll it up for storage afterward. A headrest that flips around to suit different types of instruments. Non-slip so your stuff isn't going everywhere. At this price if you only use it to change strings you'll get your money's worth out of it.Garv P
Every guitar player should get one of these kits asap. It greatly improves the stability and protection of your guitars while you change strings, clean and work on them. It holds electrics and acoustics … and can hold them sideways while you string them (from the back or front) … this is HIGHLY recommended … as it takes the some of the drudgery out of restringing and cleaning your instruments. This file is a real bargain. I used it right out of the box to dress the ends of a refret I have in my shop. I'm impressed that the file's edges are "safe" and do not mark the fretboard. The barrel of the file is mounted in what appears to me as solid brass and rosewood looking wood handle. The file is heavy and feels very substantial in my hand. If the diamonds hold up, this could be the best kept secret on the luthier tool market. Don't be surprised is StewMac gets it and charges $100.00 plus for it.guitarfxer

I have used many products over the years some good some bad. This product delivers on what it says. It cleans, polishes and waxes all in one step. It is great for every day care of your instrument. I have been a fan of Music Nomad Products since they appeared on the market. Even though this product is an all in one solution I still apply a coating of Music Nomad Brazilian Wax to the guitar at least every year to protect it. I touch it up with ONE after every few uses and Music Nomad Detailer before after every use. Keeps my guitar looking like a mirror. I am pleased.John
This is a great product, gets my bass clean with very little effort and leaves NO streaking, residue, or build up of any kind. It works well after a gig or rehearsal, gets sweat, prints, smudges off with ease. I would not say it works well as a polish, it does NOT get out any scratches, scuff marks or hazing. Music Nomad Guitar Polish does an excellent job at that. If you use as just a cleaner you will not be disappointed……Love It!!
This seems that The Music Nomad's "The Guitar One – All in 1 Cleaner, Polish & Wax" new "Professional-Grade" Instrument Polish & Cleanser, as I've seem multiple reviews and spoken to other players who have also recommended it based it it being used by their own Technician. I also found out about it when bringing in three of my Basses for their yearly professional setups (I live in a Summertime-Humid area where tweaks are needed), saw my Tech using it and asked about it as it brought a shine these Instruments have NEVER had… and both are extremely well taken care of and "Like New". When I enquired about it, he told me he *had* been using the same polish that I was using at home, but when given a bottle to try it blew the other away… and "The Other Stuff" is a high-quality "Industry Standard" that's not even close to "bad". "The Guitar One" is simply that much better! Also a MAJOR positive is that it's organically formulated, environmentally friendly as well as housed in a biodegradable bottle, the first Instrument Polish of my knowledge to take that positive step of being "Green"! It also helps protect your finish by containing UV protectants, so that your Olympic White finish will remain so & not yellow if it sits in the Sun for a few hours a day (although I'd still recommend moving it for various other reasons… 😉 The ONE is infused with white Brazilian carnauba wax that delivers an acoustically transparent durable shield with a high gloss shine that The only possibly negative I can say is that it *is* more expensive for the same amount (4 Fluid Ounces) than my older favorite, but only from $4.99 to $9.49. And given that between myself and my Better-Half we're a musical household with 9 Basses & 4 Guitars with Glossy Poly finishes that need to be wiped down every month, I'm *still* on my bottle of "Old Favorite" purchased from about 5 years ago and that an extra $4.51 for years of better shine, cleaning & protection won't exactly break the bank. 😉 I'm still likely to use my current, more-"Turtle Wax" polishes & Lemon Oil on my dark & oily fretboards such as Rosewood, Pau Ferro and Ebony for the yearly "Full-On Cleaning/Fretboard Oiling/Fret Polishing" I give my Basses. But I'll be picking up a bottle of "The Guitar One" for my monthly cleanings and general wipe-downs with my next order placed. Oh, and to agree with other reviews both here and elsewhere… due to the infusion of Brazilian Carnauba Wax in the formula (but not a "Guitar Wax Polish" that must be thickly coated and then rubbed in/off much like you'd wax a car), "The Guitar One" *SMELLS FANTASTIC* both on your Instrument as well as transferring to your Case or GigBag if you keep them stored between playing. I'll take that natural, tropical-esque scent over the vaguely chemical smell of most polishes & cleaners any day of the week and twice on Sundays! 😀
