1. Prs Se Hollowbody Ii Piezo – Black Gold Burst
Product Details:
A refined, skillfully designed and crafted instrument with an incredible versatile tonal range! the prs se hollowbody ii piezo combines the balanced, clear, resonant tone of a hollowbody instrument with the power and stability of a solid-body electric guitar. constructed with a maple back and top with mahogany sides, the se hollowbody ii piezo offers a light shimmer and snap in an attractive package. the 58/15 ‘s’ pickups deliver clarity and balance that sound big and musical in a hollowbody platform. now boasting a newly designed lr baggs/prs piezo system, the se hollowbody ii piezo provides musicians with the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument. the instrument is designed with two discrete volume controls (magnetics and piezo) and output jacks (mix/piezo and magnetics). players can plug into the ‘mix/piezo’ jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 58/15 ‘s’ pickups with the piezo’s acoustic tones. alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or di into the soundboard. when using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery has run out of juice). this is the most versatile se instrument in the series nearly twenty-year history.

Reviews:
Yes, the tonal range is great, especially the piezo pickup, nicely playable and overall looks and finish seem perfect. But, with nicely contoured access to the high notes let down by the overly large neck heal which starts a fret or two earlier than my other electric guitars. Another annoyance is the very cheap knobs which don't sit straight on the pots. I have a guitar costing a tenth of the price with better fitting knobs. The battery compartment is a bad joke of a design, as the battery holder comes out with the wires attached, you then have to prise up the battery from its contacts and the lever it out for replacement. Overall these are minor annoyances on what is a great guitar but, at this price I expected better. Oh yes, it came with a hard case. Which doesn't fit properly and with no tags or brand markings so who knows what it was made for. It did come with two loose bits of foam, one which was floating around unsure of its purpose.Kevin L.
PRS SE Hollowbody II Piezo — I've owned and played this guitar for about three months now. Bottom line: I'm very happy with it–and would recommend it–in spite of a couple issues. There are dozens and dozens of videos that go into detail about the appearance, fit, and finish of this guitar so I won't bother with all that except to confirm that it is very well made overall. The magnetic pickups sound fantastic, period. The piezo pickup was putting out FAR too hot of a signal, distorting at low guitar volume, but once I learned how to adjust the trim pot for it (thanks to the PRS guitar forum website), that problem was solved and now it sounds good. It's a tad bright in my opinion but that's easily fixed with the tone knob on any amp or with an EQ pedal. The battery compartment opens easily enough, but getting the 9V battery out of it without breaking the plastic frame is a challenge. Fortunately, the battery isn't used unless you plug a cable into the PIEZO/MAG jack. The 3-way selector is garbage and I was experiencing crackling and signal drop right out of the box. HOWEVER, this is a known issue and several reviewer videos mention it so I knew what to expect. My soldering skills are only beginner-level (and I've never worked on a hollowbody before) so I paid to have a pro replace the switch for me. MF has offered to credit me the amount of the repair once I send them the receipt, so that's good. The Guitar Case — This shipped with a hard case, which I'm not happy with. When the guitar is properly seated and the lid is properly closed and latched, there is a quarter-inch gap around the bottom (see pics). That's not good. There are several (expensive) case options that are touted as "PRS and PRS-style" cases but they WILL NOT FIT this particular guitar because the lower bout is 14" wide (at least an inch wider than other PRS models). Also, it's about an inch thicker (front to back) than a Jazzmaster so a Jaguar/Jazz case won't work either.RiserGrease
I received the Black Gold Burst version about a week ago. It's a BEAUTIFUL guitar. The pictures don't do it justice. The f-holes really add to the appearance. Fender ALSO makes a hollowbody guitar, but they went the round sound hole direction, which, IMHO, is hokey looking. The sound is INCREDIBLE! I have 4 other electric guitars, including a Fender American Standard Strat, Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG and an Ibanez Prestige- They are ALL wonderful guitars, and each has its own personality, in how they play AND how they sound. THIS guitar has a sound that TRANSCENDS ALL of my other guitars. There are a number of videos on YouTube. BUT, as with the appearance, they simply DO NOT do it justice. The humbucker pickups ALONE produce a sound that is CLEAR and RESONANT. Adding the sound from the piezo pickup sends it over the top! ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS. I was a little reluctant to purchase a guitar made in China. However, the CONSTRUCTION and FINISH are PERFECT! PLUS, the cost is WAAAY less than the equivalent US-made version. I hope I've given you the idea that this is a SPECIAL guitar, BECAUSE IT IS!Kevin

I have had this guitar for about a month now. From the first day, I have absolutely loved this guitar. The included Seymour Duncan pick ups sounds amazing and the push/pull function gives you a nice range of voices. Everything about the build of this guitar feels amazing. The neck and the frets are smooth and well cared for, the quality of the hardware is top shelf. If you want a Les Paul, just forget about Gibson. This is what you want, of course there are many versions of this guitar, Any one of the EC-1000's are great, but the finish on this one is pretty outstanding in person.Logan C
Amazing, right out of the box! Gorgeous maple top and headstock design along with the flag inlays and black/chrome hardware. But how it handles…wow! The 'U' shape neck is just like my '72 Strat so the LTD felt familiar right away. (The U neck is chunky and may not be right for everyone) It's really well balanced sitting down or standing with a strap. The action is spot on and access to the higher frets not a problem. The bridge is comfortable on the right hand. And the specific instrument that I ordered is HEAVY. It feels like I'm playing a full guitar, not just a slice of a guitar! And the sound… THE SOUND!! The EMG 81 is incredible! It's actually making me play more accurately and deliberately because it will not allow sloppy playing. Play sloppy on the 81 or 86(neck pickup) and there's NO hiding it. Took a little while to get used to the high output of the EMGs but well worth it. I could not be happier with this guitar and the price is incredible.
I got the natural black color. Its a really nice looking guitar. With a different name on the head stock it would cost thousands. Sounds great, you can play any type music on it. Perfect out of the box . No setup at all needed to be done. I saved almost 200.00 with a blemish model model that was basically perfect.Ltd

Reviews:
I absolutely love this guitar. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the feel is unmatched and the finish is strikingly beautiful. I sold my car to fund this purchase, but I have no regrets. I haven't had a meal in 3 days now, but the tone from this guitar is so beefy it's almost like eating a dozen hamburgers each time I pick it up to play. Having no means of transportation meant that I lost my job, and later on my house, but my kids have decided to use the box as shelter. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase.#1 Guitar Dad

Reviews:
I went into my local guitar center yesterday and had close to 1k for a new guitar. I'm pulling off fenders and Epiphones off the wall that felt like they needed a lot of work done. I find this thing just chillin in a corner and the very first thing I do to every guitar is run my thumb and pointer finger along the neck to see if there is any sharp frets. It was smooth. Thought buzz would be bad. There was none. Thought tone would suck. Nope. Needless to say I went home with it. It does have a very few flaws. Pickup selector feels weak, tuners are so tight that they cause some sounds when moving them (stays in tune though), and pickups sound weak. What it is for $150 is a step above what Squier and Ibanez throws out in their budget price range. I can't wait to mod this thing. Despite a few flaws I'm giving it 5 stars due to it's price point.Matt
Overall: I wanted a new guitar because I primarily play Les Paul's and wanted something different. I found Kramer guitars and did some research and liked what I found but didn't want to throw a lot of money at a brand I've never played. I have played and owned B.C. Rich, Gibson, Fender, Washburn, Epiphone, and Ibanez guitars in the past and thought I found what I wanted to stick with. My Kramer Focus arrived today in the awesome purple finish. All I did was tune it up and check intonation and it was perfect. Very low action, smooth fast neck, no sharp fret edges even with the maple fretboard and a Michigan winter! The low humidity sometimes makes the frets stick out. The guitar is just awesome, it sounds good in all positions buy the middle and neck pickup are phenomenol, no buzz at all! The bridge pickup is good but I think it could be hotter so I may change that, the tuners aren't perfect but they'll definitely work, after an hour of playing and using the tremolo it holds tune very well. I highly recommend this guitar for any player, and I will definitely be entertaining the idea of purchasing more Kramer guitars from zZounds!Alex
Overall: Better than most up to Classic Vibe. The Humbucker is good. The alnico magnets are bar magnets so they are pulling threw pole pieces similar to ceramic set up. They are warm a sing with a sustain. The tuners are not bad, not top quality either but stay in tune no need to change in my opinion. The most work I did was with the frets. Now here is where the money was saved first. The radius is 12" so the flatness creates a sharp corner. The fret ends are not quite finished and the crowning is a little rough. After dressing the frets and setting the actionation ruby is a great guitar and the humbucker is a true thing of beauty. I've bought pups twice the price of the guitar and this thing still sounds better to my ear.

Reviews:
After playing religiously throughout adolescence and my teens, I fell off the practice wagon and piece by piece, my collection dwindled to nothing. After a nearly 7 years absence, I decided it was time to pick the instrument back up and this turned out to be perfect specimen to do so with. THE GOOD – it's a Gretsch – long had I dreamed of owning a Gretsch when I was younger, it seemed to meet the perfect amount of "cool" without being a typical gibson or fender option. – playability out of the box – this thing required very little work to get it into playing condition. The action was near perfect for my preference and the pickup positions weren't too hard to hone in to my desired tone. – the looks – this thing is a gorgeous piece of equipment. I went with the Bristol fog coloration and couldn't be happier. It has a unique mix of vintage yet new age appeal to it that fits my tastes exactly. THE BAD – fret buzz – as some others have said, yes there is a small amount of fret buzz out of the box. However it isn't enough to be a real issue. The buzz doesn't even translate through to the amp. So you only really hear it when you're playing unplugged. – the knobs – while i understand the desire to find a niche, the pickup volume knobs are just weird. It doesn't really make sense to me why I would want to have volume control instead of tonal control when I could just switch the pickup with the switch. It really only works in the middle position, and even then the effect isn't really noticeable unless you have one turned all the way down. Which At that point it makes more sense to just switch to the neck or the bridge instead of both.Thom
I just received our Gretsch 5220 in Jade Grey after eyeing it for a few years. I'd read all the glorious reviews and was prepared to be underwhelmed but it's all it was advertised as an more. The 2020/21 models seem to differ from some earlier ones in that it has a great black walnut fretboard as well as full sized pots. The taper is different from my other guitars but it allows for some great alternative tones. The finish is flawless and the Broad'trons have a unique voice as compared to both the standard probuckers that came on my Epi Les Paul as well as the Seth Lovers I dropped into it. For the price it is without question the best guitar purchase I've ever made when factoring everything in. I highly recommend this guitar to someone who is looking for a versatile guitar that is different from the standard LP/Strat/Tele.JFie14B2
Overall: My initial feelings about the guitar were ones of disappointment. The box had arrived smashed up from FedEx. I unboxed the guitar and inspected it carefully and couldn't see any damage. However, the neck pickup was almost completely sunken into the body cavity. The adjustment screws had almost completely backed themselves out of the guitar. In order to tighten and raise the treble side of the pickup I had to remove the pickguard. I want to remove the pick card I found a dime-sized blemish in the finish of the guitar. This wasn't a scratch or a ding, it was a flaw in the paint. I debated sending it back, but then I plugged the guitar in.This is where the disappointment ends. This guitar sounds amazing. From crystal clear cleans to grungy rhythm sounds this is a versatile guitar. I really like the master volume setup I can adjust the neck and middle pickups to my liking and then raise and lower the overall volume without changing the balance between the pickups. Right now I can't see any reason for swapping out the pickups. The binding around the guitar is nice and neat, the mahogany back looks spectacular, nice deep color, beautiful grain and nicely matched. You really have to look hard to see where the individual pieces were joined. The frets could use a bit of a polish but they were nicely beveled at the ends, no sharp or rough spots. The neck binding is flawless. The neck is a bit shallow, I prefer a chunkier neck, but that's personal preference and I got used to it quickly. The only other place that I think the guitar falls short is with the tuning pegs. I will swap them out for some locking tuners in the near future. But overall for its price this is a great guitar. When it arrived besides the loose pickup, the action was very low and the truss rod needed to be tweaked, I had a professionally set up and now it plays incredibly well. Overall this is a fantastic guitar especially given the price.Pete

Reviews:
I have used this guitar with my band, live and in rehearsals… Plays fantastically once I set it up to my desired specs (Std D tuning, 10-52 strings, FU Tone brass block), but these PRS stock pickups have no grunt and snarl to them, so I plan to add an SD Black Winter set like in my EC Black Metal FR (dropped C). I have reverted back to using my Kramer Assault Plus which came loaded with the SD Alternative 8 set. Will likely use Custom 24 as primary D guitar again after replacing pickups. For this pickup issue alone, I'm giving it 3 stars, otherwise, it would be 5, as spending over 200 bucks more is a bit off putting after spending over $1100 for this plus a hard shell case for an import.Steve
From the moment you pull the case from the shipping box, to that incredible moment you set you’re eyes on this thing and pick it up. You experience a whole new level of quality craftsmanship, choice parts and select materials. Small innovative ideas that make you think, “now that's a better way to do that, why didn’t anyone else think of that?” The guitar was set up perfectly, fret work is incredible and is such a joy to play. Not to mention that it’s so beautiful. I’m sure whatever finish you select, it will look incredible. But it’s not just a pretty face. This instruments excels at what it’s suppose to do. Be a tool for your music. Nothing is perfect so here is what I found. And I’m being VERY picky The pickups are fantastic. Quality tones and I’m impressed with the clean tones and split combinations (truly great tones). I’m not as impressed with the drive tones. Purely personal opinion but I find they have too much “bite”. THAT’S ALL! Haha! Seriously! Buy it!Grumpy Guitar Player USA

The photos do not do this finish justice! The finish is way more 3D and the metalflake finish is awesome! Great playability and incredible Lukather tones! Over the moon – Thanks Sweetwater! Cliff was my sales rep. [x1784] He was also great! Kept me in the loop about the guitar arriving from Ernie Ball and when I could expect it. Great deal on an AMAZING Guitar
Sound: Amazing. No cap. This guitar sings. Features: Roasted flame maple neck looks and feels dreamy. Ease of Use: You would he hard pressed to make a bad sound on this guitar. Quality: EBMM leads the industry in quality, fit, and finish. This is no exception. Value: I’ve never played a better guitar at any price point. The Wow Factor: I would rate this 11 out of 10. Overall: May be the best guitar in production. The new pickups are absolutely beautiful, and good for everything but the most extreme styles. I’ve never played a guitar that sounded so nice. I can put it on the neck pickup clean and fire up the boost, and it sounds like a jazz box. The bridge is the only bridge pickup I’ve ever really liked. It clear and dynamic, but no harshness. The guitar is super comfortable to boot. I was really worried I might not like the v neck, but somehow it fits like a glove. Probably the best feeling neck I’ve ever felt. To top everything off…. It was set up perfectly, and in tune in the box.Jonathan
I've had this guitar a few months now and it is a really good guitar. It is manufactured with quality in mind. There were no blemishes or quality issues when it arrived. It does come with Ernie Ball strings, which I have never been a fan of. I changed the strings right away. It is pretty lightweight (especially when compared to a Les Paul) and really does come across as a LP/Strat hybrid. There is a five or six position switch for the different pickup configurations, but I really only care for two fo them. I guess that would be dependent on what style of music you are playing. One knock that I have is that when using the tremolo, it does tend to go out of tune a bit. I don't use tremolo much, so I can live with that. The neck plays really fast and it is a great looker. Ernie Ball doesn't have a custom shop, but their guitars can compete with any brand out there. You won't be disappointed.Terry S

Overall: If you are a super strat fan, especially if you already like the way an RG feels and plays, this guitar is the ultimate. The guitar came literally perfect, the attention to detail is on par or above any guitar I have ever owned or played in my 36 years of playing (and I have had other custom shop guitars). The pickups, which are in other guitars as well, definitely have a slightly different tone with in this mahogany body with a maple cap. They are warm but not as dark as in some other mahogany Ibanez guitars – I'm attributing this to the nice maple top at this point. While the specs are the same, the neck feels slightly different than a Prestige but in a good way. The frets and the inlay were is flawless. The look slightly smaller due to the design but play similar to the jumbos on a Prestige but again, better. The guitar was packed well, came with the Certificate of Authenticity and everything needed (including strap locks)I had planned to get a different guitar this price range but after some reviews and knowing I already enjoyed my other RGs I decided on this and couldn't be happier. Truly this is the best guitar I have ever owned and possibly every played, it just feels right and the Edge Zero trem is phenomenal. I had it on an older model before they quit sending them to the US about 7 years ago. The tuning stability is perfect, as you would expect. The price? It's not cheap but this is basically a custom shop guitar where ever single detail is not only of the finest quality but the finest craftsmanship. Then you compare the cost to others custom shop guitars or from boutique builders, it's actually a bargain for what you get. The versatility of pick up combination means this can do everything from Jazz to Hardcore Metal with ease. While it actually doesn't matter in regards to playability, it pretty darn beautiful as well. The binding on the fret board is even flamed on the one I got. I couldn't ask for more as far as I'm concerned. If you are on the fence between this and another guitar, get the J Custom, you won't be disappointed on any level.Joe
Overall: Great guitar with A++ QC, not a flaw i could find, and i looked for a while. PRS which is known for great QC does not even compare to this. The play-ability is nice and the Edge Zero ii trem smokes the Floyd Rose, so easy to setup and returns to pitch very efficiently. The little stopper bar makes it so flutters are not as easy to do, but i'll give up those hot dog moves for superior function everywhere else. zZounds also was very patient with me when i was badgering them about the overnight shipping not arriving on time, they refunded me the cost no problem. I would buy this guitar again no questions.Robert

Reviews:
The ebony fretboard plays like butter, the Fishman pickups sound awesome, and the built quality is excellent. However, out of the box, the fretboard was covered with gunk, intonation and action was off, and the strings were oxidized. I question if Gibson Nashville inspected this guitar from China. Nevertheless, Chris, the guitar tech at Sam Ash Richmond set up this guitar perfectly and with aplomb. Chris is a very valuable asset! The Doc

Reviews:
First off I would like to say the finish is beautiful. The playability is excellent. I play through a Fender Hot rod Deluxe ML series and the clean tones are wonderful. Through an overdrive, or a distortion pedal , it has plenty of growl and sustained. If you are on the fence, don't be. You will not be disappointed.John C
Value…it's one thing we look for. This PRS is made overseas. The fit and finish are excellent.Excellent fretwork and neck. The guitar sounds great strummed acoustically, but the pickups are superb! The volume and tone knobs have a smooth taper and feel. The tuners are solid and the guitar stays in tune. The wide fat neck feels a little smaller than previous PRS's I have owned, but fits my hand really well. The case lid doesn't have the best fit, but it works. Having a hardshell case included at this price point is almost unheard of, but is a great idea to protect the hollow body. I highly recommend this guitar if you want value and bang for the buck.

Reviews:
Overall: I generally don't buy import guitars anymore, but the 70s Japanese version of the Epi Crestwood was one of my first instruments as a kid in the 90s, so I took a chance on this one for nostalgia reasons. Like other reviewers said, it needed a little bit of setup work to bring out its best, but twenty minutes of adjustment has made this thing an incredible player. It's way better than the price would suggest — particularly the vibrato, which is Bigsby-ish, but far more usable. COVID-19 supply constraints notwithstanding, I can easily see why this bad-boy has been sold out since the day after I bought mine. Pick one up when you can — you'll be glad you did.
I did much research before singling out the Crestwood Custom as my jack-of-trades workhorse guitar. I wanted something classic, but timeless enough to be diverse, and offer something in it's voice to my future music. I'm in love. It's sleek, it's light, it's flashy, refined, and yet, solid as tank. The intonation is spot on, easy to tune, it holds a tune, it's bright, it's punchy, and yet has that classic smoothness associated with classic finger-style artists like Chet Atkins. The tuners are precise and effective. Nothing is sloppy, nothing buzzes or rattles. The tremolo has the perfect amount of usefulness for my purposes, and is solid enough for a grounded rhythm track, while allowing me to shred to the Top Gun theme song. I use it for rhythm, melody, and even shredding. It does it all. The mini humbuckers really give the best of all worlds. I've even seen videos of people using it for metal, with good effect. It's friendly to the pocket, the eye, and the ear. I could not be happier, and American Musical shipped it out fast, and it even arrived two days early, on my birthday, which is a happy first in my consumer experience. Thank you Epiphone for an amazing guitar, and thank you American Musical Supply, for putting it in my hands!Ken W
Quality of workmanship is outstanding! Neck is so comfortable to play. The Epiphone pro mini humbucker pickups have fantastic range. The body shape is very comfortable to hold. The trematone system works very well and the guitar keeps tune. I got the white version and the pictures on line do not do it justice.. absolutely beautiful guitar! I must say this guitar/purchase did meet all of my expectations. If your looking for something with a different feel and vibe from all the rest the Epiphone Crestwood is an excellent choice. I like this guitar so much I’m going to also pick up one of the Wilshire models with the soap bar p90’s..Stephen from Bridgewater NJ

This guitar was a surprise. Great playability, the fret finish and rounded edges on the neck are super smooth making are very comfortable neck to hold and play. Fret access all the way to the 24th fret is very impressive. Many 24 fret guitars aren't very accessible and don't play clearly up high. but it's effortless and still feels like you can go further if added more frets. Versatile guitar with a wide array of tones available, from coil tap Stratocaster like tones to the rich deep bark you'd come to expect from a Les Paul. Absolutely love this guitar. Best Paul Reed Smith guitar for the money and craftsmanship available.virtuosodan
This was my first PRS guitar purchase. I purchased it based on the reputation of the company and reviews I found online. I ordered the violin finish. When I received the guitar and laid my eyes on it I was seriously disappointed. The flame maple top was horrible. The upper half had a much less noticeable flame to it and the lower half while partially nicely flamed it was completely missing flame and was bare grain around the switches. I showed it to a couple of friends who own PRS s2 guitars and they were shocked it was allowed to leave the factory like that. The only reason I rated it a 2 star and not 1 was because it only needed a light setup to be playable but even then the sharp fret ends will need some attention. I would not recommend this guitar to a friend, especially with the price tag.Derek
I purchased this S2 Custom 24 from American Music Supply a music dealer in my personal opinion is outstanding to deal with! I have made many purchases from AMS they are fantastic. As a Tele player who was in need of a humbucking guitar, do to a working cover band. I purchased this PRS because I didn't want a bottom line made in China guitar for $699 but felt someplace in the middle would get me something decent. This guitar is WAY over priced for what it is! The neck, for me was extremely uncomfortable, wide thin. The hardware is all made over seas and extremely cheap. I received the guitar, played it for about 30 minutes. The action was high and there was a buzz coming from the bridge. After 40 years of playing I know a poorly made guitar when I put it in my hands. The pick-ups sounded ok but lack clarity. PRS can do better! The color and finish was gorgeous! PRS is great at that. But C'mon Paul, give us something better for $1699! That's a lot of money for some people! I can see these S2's flooding the re-sale market for about $750 in one or two years, just like the MIM Fenders. Which re-sale value just stinks! I had two high end PRS's the P22 for $3600 brand new I sold it for $1600. I had a 10 Top 594 semi Hollow body for $4100 which I sold for $2000. I lost my shirt on those guitar because the market is flooded with PRS's that wont sell. I was lucky enough to send this one back and NOT have to re-sell it. Thank-God! At $1699 buy a used core PRS model or a USA Fender its still the best bang for your buck. Or a Studio USA Gibson Les Paul. I believe PRS makes great guitars and now they are trying to get a little above the K-Mart guitar market. It needs better pickups and better hardware. Oh…the locking tuners were good! 15. Prs Hollowbody Ii Piezo Electric Guitar – Dark Cherry Burst 10-Top
Product Details:
Dazzling hollowbody tone beast. the prs hollowbody ii piezo 10-top electric guitar looks, sounds, and plays like a dream. this instrument features one of the most flexible tone shaping systems you'll find in the sweetwater guitar gallery. select the hollowbody ii's tci-tuned 58/15 humbuckers for a purely electric sound, or blend in the woody quality of the onboard lr baggs/prs piezo pickup system for great acoustic tones. combining these two diverse pickup systems gives you an absolutely phenomenal sonic range. and that's only part of what's so special about the prs hollowbody ii piezo 10-top. – an ultra-premium instrument from prs. the 10-top guitars are prs's most distinctive production instruments. for the hollowbody ii piezo 10-top, it all starts with premium tonewoods: carved figured maple for the top and back, mahogany for the sides. this particular combination yields a clear, yet resonant, tone that suits any musical style. the mahogany neck is topped with a smooth, inviting rosewood fingerboard adorned with exclusive prs birds inlays.58/15 pickups deliver sweetened humbucker sound. speaking of tone, playing the prs hollowbody ii piezo's 58/15 pickups is an inspiring experience. that's because paul reed smith himself designed the 58/15 pickups to give you the sweetened tone you'd expect from real vintage humbuckers. prs went right to the source of legendary pickup production when they bought the same coil wire manufacturing machine that '50s-era guitar makers used to create some of the most iconic pickups in history. the 58/15 pickups give this prs hollowbody ii piezo the classic humbucker tones you've been looking for. take it from the sweetwater crew — the prs hollowbody ii piezo has the sounds and versatility you need for any gig. – prs retooled these pickups to bring the sweet harmonics and chunky warmth of this classic design to your hollowbody ii piezo. each set of pickups has been ear-tuned to perfection by paul and his team, a process known as tuned capacitance and inductance (tci). the end result is a very musical pickup that’s true to its lineage, but updated for the modern player. – prs/lr baggs piezo pickup system. the prs/lr baggs piezo pickup system on the hollowbody ii piezo 10-top gives you access to the natural acoustic sound of its hollow construction. a control knob lets you blend in the sound of this pickup with the sound of the hollowbody ii's humbuckers, adding a woody quality and extra sustain to your tone. there's also a separate output next to the hollowbody ii's main output that lets you send just the sound of the piezo pickup to an acoustic amplifier. – resonant, comfortable, thin-profile hollowbody. the prs hollowbody ii is built like no other guitar. instead of the center block that runs top to bottom through semi-hollow guitar bodies, the hollowbody ii features only a small block that anchors the bridge. this proprietary prs construction gives you the warm resonance of a full hollowbody with the clarity, sustain, and rock-solid stability of a semi — all in a comfortable thin-profile instrument. so if you're a solidbody player, you'll feel right at home on a hollowbody ii. and never one to sit pat, prs has retooled their finish process. taking its cues from the private stock finish that entails high-gloss nitro over a cellulose cab basecoat, this method gives the guitar a finish that's thin, durable, and clear. the result is an instrument that feels like a vintage guitar in your hands, with an incredible amount of resonance. – pattern neck shape, for that "just-right" feel. why does the prs hollowbody ii piezo 10-top feel "just right" when you pick it up? it's the satisfying shape of the neck — an updated wide-fat neck carve prs calls their pattern profile. it's based on paul reed smith's original, pre-factory neck design — the same one used on instruments he handbuilt back in the 1970s and '80s for carlos santana, peter frampton, and howard leese of heart. take it from us: once you wrap your hand around this juicy neck, you won't want to let go. hollowbody electric guitar with acoustic and electric tones. tci-tuned 58/15 humbucking pickups with onboard prs/lr baggs piezo system. carved figured maple 10-top and matching back for showstopper looks; mahogany sides. fully hollow construction with dual f-holes. pattern-profile mahogany neck. rosewood fingerboard with prs birds inlays. prs phase iii locking tuners. hybrid hardware.

Reviews:
This is PRS's version of a vintage style Gibson Les Paul. John Mayer dubs it "the best new guitar I've played in years". I say it is the best guitar I've played. It is the ultimate Les Paul. My band was in awe of it's tone. I'm surprised by how noticeably better the tone is than my 2015 PRS Custom 22 Stoptail. I thought the CU22 was amazing, but the 594 blows it away. I've owned 3 Les Pauls: 1973 Custom, 1991 Standard, and 2017 Standard HP. The PRS 594 beats them all in tone, playability, tuning and comfort. The only thing PRS doesn't have is the cool looking Gibson headstock, but that design is why Gibson's dont stay in tune.Raz
I tried two of the PRS 509s. I was disappointed because in my opinion the pickups were not as defined as my PRS 513s. First the 509 does not have heavy humbucker as does the 513. BEcause I perform such a variety of music I need Single, Clean, and Heavy. Second the neck clean humbucker was not as clear as my 513's. It seemed a little darker. The 509 bridge clean humbucker seemed not to have the drive the 513 has. Third. And here is the kicker with the 509. In Pseudo Single Coil Tap Mode it is NOT truly single coil mode. You see there is some coil sharing from the other bobbin to keep the volume from dropping to noticeably. Therefore, the sound is not a single coil sound. Fourth. Also, another sticky point. With the switch position in bridge and middle pickup you do get that Strat quacking sound however with the neck and middle switch position you don't really get that quack like the 513 does. I has to do with which bobbin is being used as the main bobbin. With the 513 there is truly single coil mode because only one bobbin is activated. I did buy one of the 509s. I thought I could get used to it or set it up different. I am still sorry I did. I would rather buy another 513. I also have a PRS Custom 24-08.(with the 498 pickups). Now that sounds great because in single coil mode they really only activate the one coil. All that being said it might be just right for some guitarists.prs32164

Reviews:
The les paul gt is a solid player, it sounds good for the price. Also the acoustic sound it produces is quite good, however, my frets are kind of worn out now, so it doesn't sound too good anymore. (I am not going to talk about the pros anymore, because there are plenty of reviews that focus on those). Now for the bad. The body of the guitar is incredibly flat and blocky. There is no tapering, or smoothing around the edges of the guitar. Because of this, when you are playing, the edge of the guitar is constantly jabbing your rib with its sharp edge. It also shows how poor the craftsmanship is on the guitar. I'd say that 99% of the guitar was made and assembled by robots. the guitar is also quite heavy adding to the discomfort. If your going to buy this guitar just be aware that the body is completely 2 dimensional with no concave or anything, also know that the guitar is rather heavy.nickname
As a hobby guitar player for 30+ years I was looking for an inexpensive LP style guitar with a tremolo. Something I could have fun with, not a wall hanger. Epiphone had the answer with this well built guitar. It's got the LP look with a set of pretty hot pickups which provide lots of snarl on command. The kill switch built into the tone control is a great idea and can be useful and fun to play with. The tremolo is pretty good and generally stays in tune well. Historically guitars in this price range have a reputation as being unfinished with poor fret work, poor nut work, etc. overall these days that's not true anymore and this guitar is a pretty good example of that…BobS67
Nice guitar. Same size as a les Paul. Not too much sustain which I'm sure is due to its light weight body construction. The cut off knob is a nice feature when using heavy distortion. It'll eliminate the need to switch off your pedal when there are pauses to avoid annoying feedback. Nice looking guitar but the flat black matte finish would really pop with a few coats of lacquer but I guess that's one of the steps, or lack of, that keep the cost sooo low. I'm pretty sure a few pounds of lacquer would help with the sustain. Maybe if I get bored I'll give it a try and post a new review.Ronald

The potential is there! BUT,the stud mounts for the Floyd Rose are way to loose,as if the bolts should be a size bigger,I wound teflon tape several times to tighten the threads. Not sure if they all come this way but mine was a mess,it will no way no how stay in tune the way it was.Another problem with the trem is the plate that holds the springs underneath was installed way to close to one side,I had to redo that as well. The action was terrible intonation way off.So I just started from scratch took the neck off and btw the strap button is screwed in with one of the bolts for the neck a bad idea,I repositioned it so all 4 bolts had the same torcque holding the neck on. I put a very small shim under the neck put it back on, adjusted the truss rod, then set the action and intonation and put an EMG 81 in the bridge position…..After all that I love it! Stays in perfect tune ,has that Gibson mahogany wood sound to it,and plays great! Just be prepared to rebuild it out of the box if you have the same problems I did.Metalmonger
Outstanding. The feel of the instrument is incredible. Gibson did good with these new kramers and once the brand picks up some momentum i can see them coming back into the scene easily. The main reason i really took to this guitar was just looking over all the similar guitars with the same features for the price this one stands out not only with looks but the quality and the feel/tone it provides. I was looking towards all brands ESP Schecter Epiphone Fender and ended up with this axe. It beats the rest. I will confidentally say that. I personally hate how every model of guitar has EMG's and an ebony fretboard/mahogany body combo. Come on people lets get real here people want something different. An extremely comfortable and fast playing guitar. The neck profile feels incredibly smooth and fast. Its very easy to get around and feels increasingly natural. The modified V style body not only feels comfortable playing standing up or sitting down but it also looks great. The satin finish is smooth (though requires a little more cleaning care). The guitars stock pickups sound great and are a staple on alot of the epiphone models. The coil tap adds a little bit more in the tonal dynamic of the instrument and the overall weight of the guitar is balanced and solidly built. The fretboard is very dark (says rosewood but almost looked like ebony) and the inlays add a little flare to the guitar. The guitar was set up almost perfectly right out of the box. Very little fret buzz and the action was near perfect. Tuned it up and the stock strings sounded good. Quality from the first strum. i had figured that it would be compareable with some of the other epiphone models i played and the quality is similar but the playability is a lot better. The only real problem i had was some very minor buzz (barely noticeable) and whoever had set up the guitar had left a string sitting on one of the saddles out of the groove (which with a one finger push popped right in) for what you get the dollar price on this axe is not bad at all. It easily plays better than instruments twice its price and has the added tone to boot. Eventually most players will want to swap the P-ups out but for the time being the stock pickups deliver. No complaints with the instrument whatsoever. If your looking for something that plays well and wont break the bank see if you can get your hands on one. In terms of the playability alone this instrument is worth every penny.RennexGreyven
Been waiting for this Kramer NiteV for almost 2 years and finally these are made available, I always loved Kramer from way back in the 80's. Thus Nite V has awesome sustain and the neck feels smooth, great balance with this guitar, the pickups are great for this guitar, and the look of this thing means Metal!!Metaldave

Reviews:
I purchased this guitar a couple months ago and while the finish is absolutely stunning and I want to just mount it on the wall, it’s hard to put it down! The guitar came in tune, set up and ready to play. Easily one of the best playing guitars I’ve ever picked up, I own a Prestige Ibanez, two schecters, an ESP LTD and this one is so easy to play compared to all the others. Bends and vibrato are effortless and the Floyd is great, stays in tune nicely. The Dimebucker is super, super hot, great for the Dime harmonics and squeals. Also this guitar and it’s case are massive, have to fold the seats in my SUV down every time I take it anywhere, but despite its large surface area; it is extremely light. Would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a speedy player or a fan of Dimebag Darrell like myself.
Great metal guitar. When I ordered this Dean I was already thinking of swapping out the neck pickup to some type of Duncan. Then the guitar showed up, the Dime Time neck pickup is amazing! No need to really swap it out unless you really dont like the sound of the Dean pickup. The neck profile on this Dean is a soft V. It's chunky but definitely not like an old Les Paul. It's comfy. If you do not like thick necks, this is not the guitar for you. The korean Floyd on this thing is just as good as a German floyd. Will not go out of tune, unless you set it up wrong. Do some research, its not difficult at all. The Dimebucker is a very underrated pickup. Ton's of reviews of those online and on YouTube. Look it up, you're either gonna love it or hate it. This guitar screams METAL. It's huge. When you strap this guitar on you automatically get a boost of testosterone and instantly grow a red goatee. Not for the feint of heart- get an Ibanez instead.Javier M.
Overall: You can tell that someone was behind every little process in building this beautiful instrument. The neck is a slick as water, the action and everything is set up perfectly, Everything about this guitar just feel premium about it. The ebony fretboard. The paintjob. Down to the extra polish they gave the inlays for a silky touch. I do wish they had stuck with the original stealth headstock. But I can understand using the Razorback. But always wanted one of these high-end Dimebag guitars (I got a Dean from Hell & a basic Razorback) and thanks to zZounds I was able to do it without breaking the bank.
