The Kongpressor gives my guitar clarity, even string volume, clean boost, and clean sustain better than other stompbox compressors that I have used. With the chime control you can dial in the amount of treble that you want and get a treble boost effect in the higher settings (VOX in a box). The release and attack dials act uniquely in various combinations (I am still experimenting with that aspect as a lone pedal and also with other pedals to find my preferred sound). I have only used it with a 9 volt adapter so I will be getting a 12 volt to hear the extra boost, but I am happy with the 9 volt. Remember it does not have a battery compartment so you might as well invest in a 12 volt adapter. Compressors can be noisy, the Kongpressor is quiet. I bought the Orange Amp Detonator to crank two small 20w amps for more grunt. What's better is that I can blend two tonally disparate amps to create another sound altogether. The thing I feared most (like I do with all pedals) is the phenomenon of "tone suck" where the engaged pedal flattens a normally vibrant sound. Nothing like that with this baby. It is easy to use with different coloured lights to keep you reminded of what mode you are in ie both amps, amp a only, amp b only etc. Plus it is Orange so it looks damn cool too. Love it. Habe das Pedal zu Hause probiert, gibt das Signal unverfälscht weiter. Habe einen Auftritt damit gespielt, und der Tontechniker konnte das Gitarrensignal problemlos und in guter Qualität verstärken. Gut ist, dass zwei Ausgänge vorhanden sind. Also neben XLR für PA/Monitor kann man noch einen Verstärker betreiben, wenn nötig. EQ ist eher dezent, reicht aber völlig aus, um das Signal deutlich zu färben.

Having been messing around with an acoustic for far too many years I decided to treat myself to an electric, and started the search for an amp. I had a few options but went with the Crush 20RT and haven't regretted it. For its size the sound quality is great, and the eq controls allow you to get a nice range of distinct tones. Having the dirty volume away from the gain dial takes some getting used to, but isn't a deal-breaker, and if you find the rather small switch to swap between clean and dirty channels a bit fiddly, you can pick up a foot switch which connects nicely on the back of the amp. Built in reverb is nice, but if you are big on using reverb I'd imagine you'd want to get a dedicated pedal. Tuner seems hit and miss, and again more accurate results will be obtained via a stand alone product. Both good features to have, especially as a starter amp. Overall, highly recommended!Kevin E.
This is definitely the best sounding practice amp I've ever used. The gain channel has several different levels of gain, all sound great. Anywhere from a slightly crunchy overdrive sound to sizzling distortion. I've never had an amp this size handle metal tones so well. The clean channel handles distortion pedals well and maintains the tone of the amp, and if you wanna add a little something extra, putting an overdrive in front of the dirty channel really pushes the mids through. All very impressive for an 8 inch speaker.

Now let me first state that Guitar Center is the only place I'd buy this from, to try it out and return it to the store. Guitar Center is the BEST. This little amplifier is the WORST. I bought this specifically for it's cabinet output and the fact that it can run on a 9 volt battery. I own four other mini amplifiers, two of them are pedals and the other two are Blackstar Fly 3 (with the extension cabinet.) Here's the crux of my review: The Blackstar Fly 3 is louder and sounds far better than the Orange Crush Mini, even if that Crush Mini is powering a larger speaker cabinet (a 2×10, in this case.) So yes, two 3" speakers in the Blackstar are louder, and the sound quality is far superior to the Orange Crush Mini driving a 2×10" cabinet. The Crush Mini's 3" speaker is unusable, sounds very tinny and is very low volume. Now, I also have two pedal amps that run on 9 volts, an Electro Harmonix 5mm and a VHT Redline 6. The 5mm is amazing, and the VHT is very good also. So if you want to drive a cabinet with a pedal size amp you can put in your pocket, try the Electro Harmonix 5mm. The VHT Redline is also very good and has the added features of an aux in jack and headphone out jack. An adapter cable to use a battery can be had (I have a few of them.) Avoid the Orange Crush Mini, the Blackstar Fly 3 is far superior.John

I am really impressed with the Behringer VT999. I own one of the original Tube Works BK Butler designed Real Tube Overdrives. For the last 30 years it has been the Standard by which I judge all overdrive effects and I have tried just about everything else out. The VT999 is the only overdrive that I have found to date that matches the tone of the BK Butler. Everything from subtle warmth boost to pure crunch it's in there. Used as a pre amp you can get a Vintage Marshal tone out of a Fender twin. I absolutely love this effect.
Honestly, the only complaint I have about this pedal is that instead of being constantly on or off, the light blinks, and that's just a personal quirk; it's not cause for a lost star. More importantly, the tone of the pedal is quite good. It preserves the natural warmness of tone already present in my Gretsch, and even adds a bit when tweaked. As well, the high, mid, and low controls are very effective in tweaking sound; each one makes a big difference, so definitely spend some time working with the levels. The range of gain is quite good. I can get a light overdrive from it all the way to a screaming distortion. I usually keep it between 10:00 and 11:00, and that allows me to play softly with a less noticeable drive, and play harder for a dirtier tone that stands out more. More expensive pedals may have more options, but for the price, this pedal is a steal. Seriously, the build quality is good; it's a metal chassis, and feels quite solid. The knobs do feel like a cheaper plastic, but I haven't have any breakage issues, and for the price, it's a nonissue (I mean seriously, even if I have to replace the knobs in the long run, it's still well worth it).rogue_danar
This thing takes up a lot of real estate on your pedal board, but all in all, for the price, it is worth it. It's a very good clone to the very old original Marshall guv'ner pedal from the 80's. And it is just as Big! If you are looking for a metal pedal, this is not it. This does a really good job at everything from a little crunchy blues, to heavy 80's style rock and roll overdrive. The very first thing you must do when you order this beast, is also order a quality 12ax7 tube for it. The one that is in it is garbage. It's a Bugera 12ax7C junk from china. Order any of the 12ax7 tubes. it doesn't have to be a C tube.I currently have a 12ax7A in it now. It's very easy to change tubes. There are reviews of it all over youtube and they all say the same thing. Change the tube. But once you do, it's a very very good pedal. When you take the cost of the pedal, plus a replacement tube, you're still way below the price of anything else close to it. And it performs better. It works like an additional preamp to help drive your guitar amp. I've used it on a Fender Super Champ XD combo, and an Orange Micro terror and a Acoustic brand solid state 100 watt head. (Acoustic brand, not an amp for acoustic guitar). It works great in all of them. It also accepts booster pedals in front of it really nice. I have put an Xotic boost in front and also a Soul Food with the gain all the way down and volume up (makes it a boost pedal). They both have worked great. It has a built in switchable noise gate that works great with single coil pickups to knock down the hum. If you have room on your board, I highly recommend this pedal over just about any other drive pedal under 300 euros. Really! It's that good! Dialing it in is about the same as a drive channel of a quality tube amp. A balancing act between gain and volume. It is highly responsive to pick attack. So when you are setting your knobs, pick hard and gentle and find that sweet spot in between. Has bass, treble and mid tone knobs too, just like a quality amp. Not just one single tone knob. What a great pedal. Case is extremely durable powder coated steel. I have been burned by cheap products from Bugera and Behringer in the past, and so I was a little leery of giving them another chance, but I am very glad I did. Youtube reviews is what gave me the courage to give it a shot. I am really glad I did. Order one today, and get an inexpensive JJ tube at the same time. No need to step up for a high end select Mullard or anything. Just something different than the stock tube that comes with it. Stock tube gives it very muddy mids and sounds almost out of tune in the higher frequencies. But with the JJ man this thing really rocks. and the eq knobs are highly responsive. I used to think that boost pedals were dumb and that I would never use one. But after watching dozens of videos and seeing several big name endorsements, I thought that the Spark might be for real, and it is now EASILY my favorite pedal. Simply put, it just makes your tone better, no matter what kind of guitar or pickups you run through it. The sound quality and versatility are the best features. It gives you a great boost, but it's extremely amp-like, in the same way that clean channels on good tube amps break up if you crank the gain. And the little toggle switch gives you three different "clean channels" with which to work. The middle position has the most clean headroom and is the classic boost, but still breaks up a little if you max the gain. The Mid and Fat sounds add beef to your tone in fantastic ways, and I use those most often. Do you think that single-coils and/or jazz box guitars sound thin compared to solidbodies with humbuckers, like me? The Mid and Fat settings will fix that for ya. I love my Strats and my jazz guitars so much more now. Turn up the gain and the Mid and Fat settings will give you a great overdrive too. The best part about cranking the gain on the Spark is how well it makes your sound hit tube amps. It gives you glorious saturation at any volume level. This is the perfect pedal to put first in your drive section. Your other drive pedals will greatly benefit as well. Worried about tone? This is the most transparent pedal I've ever used, even more so than TC's other drive pedals (which I also love). The two EQ controls are fantastic and give the pedal a huge advantage over nearly every other boost pedal. Whether fully down or cranked, you get usable sounds in great frequency ranges. Took a bit of a flyer on this as I sort of have an end result in my head and im not entirely sure how to get there. i have a hybrid amp that has a touch of valve harmonics that im trying to exagerate. this is a step in the right direction (and with some fiddling might even be the thing) i think what i was expecting was more like a compressor, but this is more or a transparent drive type effect (at least with my amp). however it is first drive pedal that ive loved without faffing about with the dials for hours. am getting nice bluesy /seventies blues rock tones using the clean setting on the toggle, and the gain about midway. the fat setting starts pushing into proper overdriven sounds, but with a nice natural tone. so despite not being exactly what i was looking for (my fault) im really pleased with this pedal. so much so i might gift one to my kid. theres a tiny bit of noise when the level knob goes up high, but i get much the same from my SD1 so either its just the nature of the beast, or my set upReviewed by guitarguitar custome

Initially intended to buy an Xotic EP Booster because I wanted to try the Echoplex thing out, but saw this little guy and figured…why not? I like it so much, I don't see the point in ordering the EP Booster anymore! Hits the front end of my Soldano in a way no overdrive has yet, and with no noise. Works equally well in front of my OCD pedal for a lead boost. And to all the people whining about the switch not clicking…whatever. This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I'm not particularly fond of the "momentary volume boost" feature but that doesn't change my overall opinion. It's a great item.ethan1957

Bought this equalizer as an experiment to use between my behringer mini mixer and powered monitors. Monitors have no tone control, just volume and sounded a bit harsh in the mid frequencies. Was able to dial in a nice warm tone using this equalizer. No noise. No rack mounted eq to haul around. It was a win win. Perfect for sweetening up a small PA system. Will also use at some point on guitar and electric piano. Although the case is plastic and not metal, the device seems fairly solidly constructed. Have been using with a 9v battery with no issues. I've been playing guitar for several decades, mostly acoustic. I purchased this several weeks ago to add tone shaping through the effects loop of an Orange Micro Dark at home. The equalizer has been great for this application. The 7 sliders provide a near infinite amount of adjustment, allowing you to experiment and fine tune your tone. In addition, it is extremely quiet. The pedal feels heavy enough, but is made of (seemingly tough) plastic. The sliders are effective but I'm not convinced of their ruggedness through live gigs. This is my first Behringer product so have no first hand experience with long term reliability. I am very happy with this equalizer and for the price wonder why I hadn't added it long ago – it really is much more effective than few tone control knobs.C-ville Brent
This is a nice EQ pedal. It worked just fine and was 100% functional when I bought it new. The pedal is relatively quiet when pushing the front end of my Carvin low-gain amp. In the front of my Marshall however it was a little too noisy. The EQ parameters were quite usable and did a nice job shaping my tone. The gain function was less usable, again because of the added noise (hiss). This noise was apparent using the battery or a 9v adapter. The quality of the pedal is fine, but its 100% made of plastic. I had no usability problems with it, but you should be aware that it is in fact all plastic. Overall its worth 4 stars because for $25 its a great deal. However I spent a little more on a used MXR 10-band w a 18 volt power supply that is much more quiet when pushing my Marshall. If you want some EQ shaping and don't want to drop a lot of money, this pedal is probably your best bet. You have to spend about four times as much (or more) to get higher quality, and you have to decide whether that higher quality is worth four times the price.derald75

Stamp into Orange 1×12 loaded with Vintage 30. Guitar into MXR Noise Clamp then Distortion III. Analog Chorus and Reverb (the only thing that's primarily digital in my rig) in the Stamp's effects loop. Wired so that the preamp section of the Stamp is in the Noise Clamp's loop as well as the Distortion III. I'm not going totally clean on the Stamp, using the Distortion to boost it and the Chorus is always on to give it a "wetness" to the signal (rate and depth can be on zero). The Stamp and Distortion III give this gnarly midrange voicing (with its tone knob around 11:00) that makes me feel like I'm playing through a cranked stack though I'm actually at bedroom volume. The sound is warm and huge with no shrill highs yet killer upper midrange cut. It's easy to see that this would compete with an acoustic drum set and seriously cut through a mix.
These are WAY CQQL little amps! The only thing that I changed out on mine is the 12AX7 tube inside. I removed the stock JJ tube and installed a Tung-Sol and OMG! So much more Volume, Sustain, Clean Clarity, Note Articulation and Headroom – NO MUDDINESS! Get this, while you are in there changing the tube, you will notice a mini Tube Gain Trim Pot. I backed mine all the way to the left then set it to half way up and this works perfect for me cuz I use it for Cleans and use Pedals for the rest. It still has plenty of Gain though on its own. This is my 3rd Orange Product. I also own the Micro Dark Terror and LOVE them Both. Try one out today! Soooo Affordable and real tube Tone! Can't wait to get home from work and WAIL on it some more!!!
I bought this as a practice amp along with a 108 cab. My live rig involves a lot of pedals including using an fx loop and there are very few practice amps out there with a loop. I love the twin volume switches for boosting, and it sounds great clean as well as driven. Having a DI out makes it more versatile but bear in mind you’ll need a longer than usual speaker lead (I found out after that Orange make a 20’ speaker cable: worth buying. I should point out that this can get very loud so good for small gigs too. Only two issues, I would like an extra switch to turn the loop on and off (like I have on my Marshall origin) and I have found it gets quite noisy with the fx loop connected. This may be down to my cheap power brick on my pedal board but never had this issue with my Marshall. There are other pedal sized amps out there but this is one of the cheapest and definitely worth the money. Slightly more than a tiny terror but that doesn’t have the fx loopDaniel C.

I normally play flamenco guitar and have a very good acoustic amp I use for flamenco. I acquired an electric guitar, and needed a vintage overdrive sound, but I didn't want to buy another guitar amplifier. This unit does exactly what I need, providing a good range of distortion from mild to heavy, transforming my acoustic amp into what sounds more like a vintage tube amp. My wife likes the sound of the acoustic amp and TO800 combo, which surprised me because she usually doesn't care much for the sound of electric guitars. I'm very happy with this unit. I got this pedal to use with a low gain amp at rehearsals. I didn't want to drag out my regular board or take it apart. I was looking for an inexpensive overdrive pedal. I saw this , read the reviews and said what the heck. I actually got the pedal for free as I had enough reward points. I regularly use a Boss Blues Driver which I have had for over ten years. I got the pedal and hooked it up and was pleasantly surprised. It is very comparable to my Blues Driver. It accepts both my Dunlop nine volt adapters and my One Spot power supplies. The case is metal. I may even incorporate it into my regular board for another degree of overdrive. If you are considering trying an OD pedal, you can't go wrong with this. I am a semi professional guitarist with over fifty years of playing experience. I use tube amps and mainly American Fender guitars. I know what I'm talking about. An OD pedal is not the same as a distortion pedal. The purpose of an OD is to push you're amp to a higher gain level than it may be capable of or to give you a little more guts when playing a lead without changing the settings on your amp. I mainly play blues, classic rock and country rock. I don't need the OD when playing through my Marshall.Doctor J
The Good: The sound of this thing is great for grimy, doom metal. It's easy to use, sounds great, and has a decent depth of customization. The Bad: You have to press in the hinges on the pedal itself as the battery is under the pedal. It was scratched up before I even got to play it because of this. There's no reason the manufacturer could not have just put a small door in the bottom of the unit like every other pedal I've ever used. Also, the first time I changed the battery, the negative wire pulled out of the connector. I've decided that since I already bought it and like the way it sounds, I'm going to jury-rig a battery connector outside the main body. It'll look like cr4p, but I'll be able to use it without damaging it further and won't have to spend extra for a 110v adapter. I had read about the difficulty changing the battery, but figured I'd give it a shot because it's got so low-priced. Had I gone to a brink and mortar store and seen it, I would not have purchased this unit. If someone already has an adapter they plan on using with it, by all means do so.Russ G

I bought the MXR 10-band EQ because I have one bass that sounds drastically different than my other basses. This has proved inconvenient for both live and recording applications. I used this device to shape the EQ curve adding just a little bit of low Mid's for warmth and removed some higher frequencies to get rid of some of the fret noise. It works perfectly for this application. I can leave it plugged into my signal chain and just kick it in when using the one specific bass. Very nice!Thomas
I have mxr's 7-band EQ pedal in my studio, and it's excellent. Its only shortcoming is its lack of a master volume fader, but that's not a problem in the studio. I thought I would try the 10-band version (that has gain and volume controls) for my live rig. The unit was disappointing. Sound quality was OK, not great. The high end lacked transparency, and there was no fader centered on the critical (for guitar) 100 Hz frequency. Dialing in tones was a tedious task, made worse by the blindingly bright LEDs on the faders. They are so bright you cannot read the frequency designations on the casing without disengaging the EQ function. Not a well-thought-out design in my view. I returned it to the store.Gordon the Pro
Ordered this along with several other pedals for a new board back in April. EQ was backordered until recently. I was very happy with the new pedalboard but wow, once I got this eq pedal added to the mix, I'm so much happier. Have been playing for 42 years and I am now wondering how I ever did without one of these. I just bought this pedal a few weeks ago and it has made a big difference in the tone of my guitar amp. I am playing a Les Paul Studio 70's tribute through an Egnater Renegade. I was suprised that this little box would thicken up my tone so much and increase the natural harmonic prescence of my guitar. My guitar has mini-humbuckers, which have a really crisp clean tone but do not have the massive distorting ability of their humbucking big brothers. Not any more, my distorted guitar tone is so rich and thick now and I have no trouble doing pinch harmonics. I recommend this pedal to anyone wanting to overdrive their tube amp more without changing or coloring the natural tone of their amp. Well I was ify at first about getting this cus I had a Lovepedal Echophonics delay, that I used with its boost to use on my other pedals but I felt like I needed more and I had the EP Booster before which is awesome but wasn't for me. So on a limb I bought the Echoplex and yes its exactly what everyone says it is….pretty much secret sauce. I put it last in my chain right next to the Echophonics pedal and both push my fuzz pedals into a loud, fuzzy mid like tone that is easy to cut thru a band mix. Great condition! the previous owner put a little too much glue on the back so there's a little sticky residue but otherwise in excellent shape. sounds perfect. no original box or manual. seriously thick fuzz even before you stomp on the octave footswitch, the orange fur coat spits out seriously thick fuzz. inspired by the legendary 1970's-era foxx tone machine, this octave fuzz pedal injects your playing with endless sustain and a gorgeous sputtery character that's guaranteed to please any fuzz connoisseur. run the fur coat into a clean amp for a tamer sound, or crank the eq knob and thrust a dimed amp into out-of-control cacophony. the octave effect is very responsive in fact, you can control it with your guitar's volume knob. from woolly to ear-piercing, the fur coat delivers a fat, fuzzed-out sound that demands to be heard. the fur coat is an old-school fuzz, so place it directly after your guitar, before any buffers, and use a guitar with passive pickups.

This is my first fuzz pedal, I wasn't really sure what I would be able to do with it since the music im creating with my band doesn't really use any distorted sounds, but I was super blown away!! It gave our music a whole new different vibe, so much more rich sound! I highly recommend it.Luis G
Absolutely ripping fuzz pedal with a really thick and deep fuzz sound possessing great ability to sculpt the tone with the EQ control going from deep heavy to bright treble saw blade your ears off ripping fuzz. The core tone of the pedal is solid and all the variations you can get from that point all work. Can also handle palm muting with ease if you need that solid 'chunk chunk' sound…which most fuzz pedals can't do without getting too messy and washy or flubby. Having the blend control for the octave mode is just brilliant to dial in just the right amount of octave fuzz with the main fuzz tone for the given situation. And it has a tonne of output level, very powerful. Excellent pedal.jbuddtronics
First off, it Orange so I knew it was gonna be a cool vintage vibe. Super fun fuzz pedal, LED light glows blue when its on and the settings are really easy to adjust and dial in. The octave option was not what I expected. There is a red light that glows within the blue LED when it is on, which is kinda hard to see, and the sound only really cuts through on certain settings, otherwise it just ads noise. What I ended up dialing in sounded more like a citar (sp?) than a fuzz with octave. Not really what I was looking for, but Im sure Ill find some use for it. Also makes for a great warm distortion tone when run after a TS808. I would give it five stars but the octave option was a bit misleading. Still plan on keeping it, still really enjoy it.jerryo227

One of the best pedals i've ever owned! i'm sad to see it go, but happy to see it on your board! does everything from tasteful boost to sputtery fuzz and everything in between! can be either tastefully subtle or wildly over the top. seriously such a rad pedal. you'll notice on the second pic that the j on jhs has eroded a bit, for whatever reason. pedal sounds like a dream and works like a charm. comes in the original box. hit me up if you have other questions! let's get this bad boy to ya!

The CB is performing several audio tasks in my home recording/composing studio. I'm primarily using as an EQ stage run into the FX loop of one of my amps. It's also taking the my guitar's direct preamp signal into my DAW for use with speaker IRs. Single track vocal overdubs and bass tracks are getting similar treatment with great results. I have yet to put it on drum machine tracks since I record those in stereo. At this rate there may be a second unit in my future for that specific purpose. I like the ability to go from clean to mean on almost anything. Having a high quality EQ with lots of gain is another cool feature. Definitely a winner!Iboughtit
My only complaint is that I didn't buy this two or three years ago when Lucas originally recommended it. I'm just a closet player and probably not even using it to its full potential. Very clean signal path. Fantastic sounds. Really boosted my princeton reissue, especially in conjunction with my existing overdrive pedals. Super easy to dial in your eq preference with sweepable high, mid, and bass. I've got a Taylor acoustic that I've never been happy with the amplified sound, even when using my Fishman loudbox performer, and I know this pedal is gonna cure that anemic tone situation. And it accepts XLR inputs so I can finally use that expensive 1/4" to XLR instrument cable that I bought. I'll probably end up getting a second one for utility situations. Got it with the Christmas sale price, and I don't think I've ever been happier with a pedal purchase
After having owned the JHS Crayon and absolutley loving how it stacked with overdrives and getting punchy, percussive cleans I found I was wanting more out of the crayon then it was capable of. I wanted more headroom for bass and more eq options for a standalone dirtbox. I heard the V1 color box had relatively low headroom and a fixed eq, while the 500 series had exactly what I wanted but no way for me to easily apply it in a live rig without buying more equipment. Then, V2 comes out of no where, checking every box I wanted in it! Buying it was a no brainer. I immediately ordered it when it was available and AMS had to me in two days. Top notch service! I've had it for a few weeks now and couldn't live without it. Having the high/low headroom switch has come in handy for using both guitar and bass. The rotary and hi/low switch for gain staging is great for setting your headroom exactly where you want it and it's a very wide range. Crystal clear cleans to some of the filthiest fuzz I've ever heard. The low cut switch is great for biamping the bass through 2 amps, in a crossover style fashion. It really cleans up the muddiness you get from a multi amp system. The absolute best part of the V2,in my opinion is the eq section. Instead of just boosting or cutting a set range of bass, treble, mids, you can sweep the eq range and fine tune exactly what you want boosted or cut. I use it at the end of my drive chain before delay and reverb. It really brings drive pedals to life and helps muff style fuzz to cut in a live situation. Added bonuses are that I can use it as a DI at the same time or a fantastic mic pre for recording. Can't say enough good things about it. Once you have it, it will definitely be a staple in your studio or live rig!Don

I own lots of OD pedals. My two favorite are the ehx english muffin and the ehx east river drive. I use the english muffin basically as the preamp section of an amp. I use the east river drive as what it is, an overdrive pedal. There are virtually a billion and a half ways to overdrive an amp, but I really like this pedal for its tone. There are so many od pedals out there but this one really speaks to me with its tone. I have always felt that it takes me back to that sound on the ac/dc back in black album. My wife bought me this pedal as a gift in 2015 and it was DOA, it wouldn't turn on. She had no receipt so I couldn't return it. She bought it again for a gift in 2016 and it worked just fine. I have seen lots of demos of this pedal and heard that sound every time. I plugged in to a tiny practice amp and set the dials modestly and there it was. There was that tone and sensitivity that I have loved since I was a kid. I don't really care about the tone sweep, the range of gain, or the versatility of the dang thing. This one just has that "hard to put a finger on it" something that drives my amp but still lets all those extremely subtle nuances of my playing shine through. It is not perfect but it is EXACTLY what I wanted.Silly me
So this unit is realistically a Tubescreamer that has all the gain and boost without the shrill top end. I'm not 100% sure of the frequency range that's rolled off, but it's just enough to create a sweet and smooth gain. The tone knob allows you to dial the rolled off frequency back in if you really want to if you're convinced it helps you cut through the mix. This pedal acts as a boost and overdrive. If you pair this with a Treble Boost such as Electro Harmonix LPB-1 Linear boost, Ibanez Mini trebel boost, (or an EQ pedal with volume and gain boost,) you will get an over the top distortion that is both intense and sweet at the same time. In the end it's a better Tubescreamer, in my opinion, that's just as solid and reliable at a much lower price. I bought it for the sound, and the price is just a bonus.Clay
