If you like Fender modelling amp sounds, you'll find this perfect for headphone practice. The selection of Amps is a bit more limited than in a Fender Modelling amp, and the Effects depths similarly limited, but hey, the thing is the size of a matchbox and it allows you to jam along with your online selections, via Bluetooth. Your headphones must be cable, not Bluetooth, however, to avoid latency. But as the headphone cable goes over your shoulder straight into the Mustang Micro, you are not hampered by any connecting cable to your playback device. Until you try this, you may not appreciate how liberating and convenient this is. Its pivoting jack also allows it to go into a Strat recessed socket, many others don't.Geoff

Overall: I'm very pleased with the Micro overall. Read my review below. It really is great. If I were to suggest any changes to the Mustang Micro, it would be this: 1. Include some earbuds with the amp…I mean, why not? You can buy decent earbuds for ten bucks these days…probably cost Fender fifty cents and would mean ready to go out of the box. 2. In the new model, set it up to have a bluetooth output for using wireless headphones. While not a huge deal, I'd really rather not have that wire running from the headset to the guitar. I always end up fumbling with it when taking the guitar off or putting it on. 3. Go ahead and print the basic amp settings on the Micro. The reference card works. But, just having the amp models printed on the amp itself would be handy. There is enough blank space on the Micro to accommodate this.These are just my ideas for improvements. I picked this up on a friend's recommendation as a better than average headset amplifier. My Likes: In terms of sound quality it is quite good. It is compact and I do like the USB charging feature a lot. The amp models are better than I expected and sound different with each guitar I use, just like a good amp should. The effects were a nice bonus, simple and effective. I haven't tested bluetooth connectivity yet, but I presume that it will do its job. My concerns, Use while Seated – nearly impossible,as with most headset amplifiers, especially with a side mounted jack . With my Fender Stratocaster, it is more easily used because of the top mount, but with any side mount, it gets caught on my knee and can get pulled out when seated. EQ feature. It does not seem to impact the sound very much in clean or driven settings. I would have preferred paying an extra $20 for a small set of wheels for hi/mid/low Overall it is a B+ for Fender, which could be a quick A with some more mounting options and a small 3 band EQKAS

I bought this amp to have a small, cheap portable amp to play harmonica through. For that, it is decent enough. I use a Shure bullet mic and the amp produces good enough tone and is plenty loud for practice or small gigs. When I plug my tele into it the clean channel is decent and clear, but the overdrive channel is junk and hurts my ears. I would rather run the clean channel and use a fuzz or distortion pedal. So that being said it is decent enough to practice licks on and it is tiny so it tucks away easy. If you look around you can find a bigger amp with more features used for the same price but if you want a new amp, this one is probably worth what they charge for it. I would only buy it if you have a specific purpose for it though.Roy

It's small, and pretty portable. However, the sound quality is trash, given the speaker is tiny, but the overdrive is just horrible. If you buy this, try returning it. If you can't return it, just get a fuzz pedal and leave it on clean. Imo, just buy the mustang lt25-50Hotdog Games

This little amp is quite amazing in sound and features. With the Guitar input, Aux In, and headphone jack it nails the features desired for practice. EQ/Gain control and volume can make a huge difference. I read the one critical review below about no bass or treble/AM radio sounding, etc…I don't get that? Probably doesn't understand the gain/vol/ and boost…or his was pre-owned and maybe had issues. Hey, if you're expecting the Fender tube sound of a Princeton or Vibrolux or Deluxe…get real, this is a 10 watt practice amp. For the money, it's a quality Fender product and does everything needed to practice.madillac09

This is doing the job I wanted. It doesn't have fancy effects like reverb, but it produces a nice sound for practice. I don't do public performances, so can't say how well it works in that environment. For the price it's a winner.lndi2007_yrggd7or

Im really disappointed with this amp. I know its not supposed to be super loud because its only 10 W, but I was hoping that the sound quality would be better. The sound reproduction frequencies are all mid range. Sounds like cardboard. Color is grey. Bass and treble tones are all but nonexistent. The eq is useless because speaker cannot reproduce bass and treble frequencies. The sound is very cheap and does not give a representation of the Fender vibe whatsoever. You are better off just playing your guitar with no amplifier at all rather than using this, because it make a good guitar sound bad. I equate the sound to that of an a.m. transistor radio. Its really bad. I actually read some of the favorable reviews on this amplifier before I bought it, and Im seriously starting to think that none of those reviews are actually real. There are better practice amps with better fidelity out there, and I would avoid this one if your ear demands quality sound.mrmarksiii

This amp, like all Tone King amps, sounds great. It hit early fender Tweed and blackface tones to a tee. Perfect 5 watt amp. The attenuator works great. Can get cranked amp break up at any volume so you don't upset and interrupt entire house when you want to play. Definitely sounds like at bigger amp than it is, cabinet and celestion 870 sound great and pair fantastically with this combo. You could easily play out with this mic'd or turned up with drummer. Takes pedals fabulously. On the lead input with volume cranked and tone up you can get early Marshall type mid pushed tones also. The volume and tone controls work very well together and it's a find the sweet spot and go amp, you don't have to worry about tweaking eq constantly like lots of other amps. It is pricey for a 5 watt amp but you definitely get what you pay for. I have and have had lots of other high end amps and this amp to me sounds the best and most practical for building onto with pedals to push it into a more modern sound if needed. You can clearly "hear" your different guitars tone through this amp and extremely reactive on your playing approach as if it is a whole separate instrument.N. Collins

Where do I start? Well, how about, this is the best tube amp I have ever played! 62 years with many guitars and many amps, some owned, some borrowed, and some tested in music shops, might give me a little credibility. I have loved a Fender Twin Reverb, made in the 50s that my uncle Keith, and my guitar mentor, loaned me for a while. It just sounded so good. Never could seem to find cash, or justification to buy a tube amp, but have owned a hal a dozen solid states. THEN THIS LITTLE BEAUTY! Having played the Twin for a couple of years, and others such as a Mesa Boogie, VOX's, and too many others to recall, THIS monster sounds like most of them with just little tweaks of the knobs and my guitar switches. I have played country, 60s and 70s rock, blues, finger-style instrumentals, gospel, etc. I believe this is the PERFECT combo, with the correct (JJ) tubes, a sweet (and dirty when desired) Seventy/80 speaker, and an amazing diversity of sounds, which works in every genre I play! I do not know how anyone can find reason to bad mouth this. I had it for 2 weeks, was asked to fill an absent, guitarist's spot at an outdoor venue, I took this little amp. We played to an area the size of a football field. I set the amp on 1 Watt, until I could hear it cleanly (behind me on stage), let the sound man mic and mix me in. Never had to turn it above about 4, with gain between 1 and 4, and many complemented me on my sound, and musicians asked me WHAT IS THAT LITTLE AMP? Those are the good points. I can only think of two piddly things I would like to see changed, and one would be a standby switch, and the second being a way to run the external speaker WITHOUT cutting off the amp speaker. Until then, I will just keep playing this sweetheart amp, and enjoy the statements about "my sound," and the question of WHAT IS THAT LITTLE AMP? Keep playing everybody…and maybe buy one of these. These amps are fantastic, and at these bargain prices you simply can't go wrong. I upgraded the reverb tank in mine to a Mod and changed the speaker for a Warehouse GC12. OMG, this thing is a beast! Another WGS option I've seen people use is the ET65 for a more British tone, also with good results. The stock speaker is not too bad, but this one simple upgrade of swapping the speaker takes the amp to the next level. It just sounds awesome. The upgraded reverb tank is also an improvement, but not as much as I thought it would be. If I had to do it over again I would just take out the stock tank and use a pedal for reverb and make the amp even lighter to haul around. The more important upgrade imo is the speaker. It really makes a world of difference. Grab one reasonably while you still can, the price keeps creeping up and up and up… !Jeff

After a number of FEDEX issues, I received my amp about 5 days later than estimated. It did arrive in excellent condition and was worth the wait. The Stage Right 611815 has a really sweet tone that sounds particularly good with the single coil pickups on my Fender Sratocaster Player. It breaks up nicely! The reverb works perfectly, and is fine for most playing but you might want an external reverb unit if you are playing Dick Dale tunes. A really nice feature for home playing is the 15W/1W switch, where you can limit the amp to 1 W (be aware that with sound, you have to increase the wattage by 10 times to double the perceived volume, so the 1W setting is a lot more than 1/15th as loud as the 15W setting). It is a bit unusual to have a tone control along with the more common bass, middle and treble controls. Personally, I would have labeled the Tone control as Presence, because that is what it seems to be. I have mostly been playing in the 1W mode with all the controls (including reverb) at 12 o clock, and that is working out great. As far as construction, the amp looks fantastic and gives a vintage look that hints at its tone! The dark grill cloth provides a nice contrast with the blonde tolex, giving a true vintage appearance. The retro red, jeweled pilot light and metal toggle switch complement the vintage styling Keeping with the vintage look, the control panel is chrome with retro chicken head knobs. As others have mentioned, the control names are a little bit difficult to read on the chrome panel. After you use the controls once, you know where they are, so does it really matter (I noticed the blonde version of the Fender Blues Jr also uses a chrome control panel…probably where Monoprice got the idea)? The tolex is neatly installed and glued, at least the parts that are exposed. The leather handle is also reminiscent of old school amps. And I really like the metal corner protectors…very nice. As proudly announced by a badge on the front panel, the amp is equipped with a Celestion speaker…a Seventy 80 The only criticism of the construction, and it is minor, is that the 8 external screws are not chamfered properly to mesh with the finishing washers, which result in the screw heads protruding above the washers. The amp has a jack for an external speaker. When you plug in an external speaker, the internal speaker is shut off, as is common with guitar amps. The reason is if you plug in an external 8 ohm speaker and the internal speaker would still be on, a (combined) 4 ohm load would be presented to the amplifier, which it is not designed to handle. The back is open. The line cord is not detachable, but can be conveniently stowed in the back of the amp. The amp has an effects loop, which I have not tried yet. The amp is now equipped with JJ brand tubes and a metal, two spring, reverb tank, which are upgrades from the original issue I wish I could find a nice, economical (i.e. $20) dust cover for the amp. The only ones I can find are priced at $50 or more, a bit much for protecting an inexpensive amp. In conclusion, the Stage Right 611815 amp looks great and sounds great, and I highly recommend it.Chris

This is a really good bit of kit (apart from the way it looks, which isn't the best!). It makes a great Bluetooth speaker for streaming music – plenty loud, with good (faked) stereo separation, and the bass isn't bad for a small speaker. The guitar modelling sound good, and works well at low volume. And I can get 3 sound sources running simultaneously, which is useful : 1. A guitar plugged into the Input 2. A keyboard plugged into the Aux In 3. Music streamed over Bluetooth So, the sound is good, the connectivity is good, the downside is the software: 1. Tone Room works well, once you've got it to work at all. I had to try several different drivers from the VOX web site before I finally got Tone Room to connect from my laptop over Bluetooth. I eventually gave up trying to get Tone Room to connect from my Android phone. 2. The bundled JamVOX III software is incredibly ancient (last updated in 2013!!!), and doesn't manage to chop out the guitar solo's particularly well on the songs I tried it with. 3. There's not much of a community out there uploading tones and patches etc. Finally, I could have paid less elsewhere, but I really appreciate The Captain's video reviews, so I decided to pay an extra £10 to get it from Andertons.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Overall: I bought this after getting tired of waiting for my Positive Grid Spark to ship. I watched some videos and pulled the trigger. zZounds had the amp at my door in 24 hours. Wow! I immediately dialed up what I expected to be my primary sound — the "Brit 1959" amp. Absolutely horrible. The sound was weak and uninspiring. Even with the pre, post, and eq's dimed, the amp was nowhere near an early era Malcolm Young tone. (The target.) The JCM 800 and the Orange Rockerverb sims aren't bad–but those amps have completely different drive characteristics. At this point, I had not yet written-off the Adio completely. I streamed my iTunes through the Adio via Bluetooth, and this was the final nail-in-the-coffin. The plastic cabinet has a very specific resonant frequency that is only augmented by engaging the "Wide" mode. The songs I have known my whole life sounded completely different when played through the Adio. Even streaming "Avengers Endgame" through the Adio unpleasantly colored the audio. And again, engaging the "Wide" mode only degraded the audio further. I am returning the unit to purchase a Yamaha THR10II–which is what I should have done in the first place. (Damn your review, Lee Anderton!)They made me fill-in "manufacturer support." I have had no experience with Vox customer support.Brian

OK, I do jokingly refer to this as the "Vox Tone Purse" because it's gotten such flack over its looks. In person I think it looks fine, and I don't really care that much. Here's the deal – I generally have to put my stuff away when I'm not playing, I live in a small place. Sometimes I don't feel like getting out the pedalboard and bringing an amp into the living room, etc. In those cases I grab the Adio and sit it on the ground next to me. This thing sounds plenty good for what I use it for. Generally practicing or noodling while watching sports. I like clean-to-slightly crunch tones with reverb. I don't use the other effects much, and I've played around with the Tonelab app a bit, but not much. I just dial in a tone and play. The tones I get are satisfying and good enough – I like the tones out of my amps better, but for a small practice amp I'm fine with it. About the 50 watts – there is plenty of volume but this thing will not keep up with your average 50 watt, 12 inch speaker combo amp. It's not that kind of thing. The 50 watts is likely for clean headroom, and it's probably 25 watts per speaker. You have to use the app to control effect parameters beyond speed or depth – not a big issue. You get plenty of variety in the available amp models – I use all of them up to the Plexi and don't really touch any of the high gain stuff. Not my thing. To my ear it sounds good for clean to mildly dirty tones and has plenty of EQ and gain options which easily cater tones to single coil or humbucking pickups. Lots to like. I give it 4 stars just because nothing is perfect, but I'm very happy with this amp and use it all the time.AL

Overall: Recieved this amp on saturday. Took it out of the box, looked great. plug in to 4*12 marshall cabinet and turned on to standby. Plugged in my Westbury custom to test. From the very beginning to was cracking, snapping then full blown static. I played all of two minutes before it started picking up radio signals and static was loud. No guitar signal was heard. Im not sure if its inherent in these amps but I am returning and not wanting another egnater productsVito

My Tweaker 15 half stack is my primary gigging amp. I don't like a ton of stage volume, and in any case this little rig is a lot louder than you'd expect from 15 watts. Using an angled-back stand for the cab, I can point it at my ear level and hear myself just fine w/o having to have guitar in the monitors. Hang an e906 in front of the speaker, and good to go. This rig's best feature is the broad range of useful tones. The various toggles and knobs actually DO something. Since I switch up between twp very different guitars (ES-335 to G&L SC2) in our current live sets, making a couple-three quick changes gets each guitar into its sweet spot and at the right volume easily. Foot-switchability would be even better, but it's quick enough. The gain control is particularly well done. There's some real range, not the "all or nothing" thing that a lot of amps' gain controls give. The Vintage/Modern voicing toggle offers distinct differences, as well. This rig takes pedals nicely. I use both individual stompboxes (recording) and an M13 (live…don't hate!), and both sound good. The one thing I dinged it a little on was that the lower ranges on the Master Volume aren't as useful as I hoped they would be when using the Gain. There's a big, non-linear jump in volume in the first quarter of the dial's movement. Not only does this jump bypass the volume I really wanted (for apartment playing), but the tone on the low side of that volume jump isn't nearly as good as the tone AFTER the jump. Not a problem on stage or even recording, but for those who have to be concerned about volume at times, it's not an ideal practice amp. Bottom line: a lot of great tones at a price that makes touring with it less nerve-wracking.David K

This amp provides a much better value than similarly designed amps by the top manufacturers. I was looking for small wattage amp to get natural tube break-up (previously playing 100 watt fender twin) at small room club-approved volume. I was down to this amp vs. Mesa Express 25 watt. Although the small Mesa's like the Express and TA models have more channels, I just really felt that the 2 channels of the Egnater were more versatile and responsive. I truly feel this amp does the best job of getting a Fender-ish clean and a Marshall-y overdrive in 1 amp. The overdrive channel is what really sold me. The dynamics make it really fun to play. It can get very saturated without sounding metal, and it compresses naturally. I've used on a couple recordings and can't believe the sound is coming from one 12" speaker and a 30 watt head. Sounds way bigger. This channel can also be used as more of a dirty clean channel. That is my one major qualm with this amp though… I like that the new 2 channel tweaker has a gain knob on both channels. I wish I could get a Stones-ish breakup sound using the clean channel on this amp without turning up to 10. So i'm forced to use a pedal and that's just not the same. Oh well, can't have everthing. I still wouldn't get the 2 channel tweaker because this overdrive channel is better to my ears – way more dynamic and responsive. The clean channel is stll great and I can turn it up to like 6 on gigs and get warm sounds. It can still get me the Fender cleans that I need – or close to them while still having a solid overdrive sound at the same time. That's the big win here. I agree with most that the wattage knobs are pratically useless – but to me, having both set of tubes is so cool. Clean channel can truly sound either Fender or Vox on 6V6 vs. EL84. I love being able to get Stratty Fender sounds with 6V6 and then flip to EL84 and get my Tom Petty sounds going. The distortion is slightly creamier with 6V6 but I like the feel changes depending on what guitar I'm playing. In general, it's nice to have 6V6 for strats and EL84's for Les Pauls all in 1 amp. I've had no issues with this amp (knock on wood) and have played steadily for over a year. Overall, this amp has 2 great channels instead of 4 decent channels. That's how I feel about it. Again, I wish they would have thrown a gain knob on the cleans for a slight break-up at low volume, but that is my only qualm. I have never offered a product review for any product but I had to make an exception for this one. I am 69 years old, have been playing music for over 50 years, and I have just begun learning the harmonica. This amp is perfect for me for a number of reasons. First of all, it's portable. I can take it anywhere – from my living room – to that picnic table at the park – to my guitar player's front porch. I've had it for a while and I'm still on the batteries that came with it. (You can get an optional power supply for it if you want.) Second – it sounds great and has plenty of volume for personal practice and for use in small settings. With the GAIN and VOLUME controls, you can easily get the response you want. The EQ control only makes a subtle difference in frequency response but nothing dramatic. The DELAY function, however, is very effective and fun to use. Next – a variety of additional input and output jacks make it very flexible. I can plug in my MP3 player and play along with a backing track, for example. It also has a headphone jack, an extension speaker jack, and a DC power jack. Finally – and most importantly – It's fun to use and, because of that, I find myself practicing longer and enjoying it more. I'm new at holding a mic and at first it felt awkward. Now, because the FLY 3W is so much fun to use, holding the mic has become second nature. OK – now you're waiting for the downside. Well, other than the EQ control comments I made earlier, I don't have any. At first, I thought it could benefit from a handle but, upon closer inspection, I discovered the recessed finger grip on the top of the case. (Very clever Blackstar.) This is a well designed portable practice amp. (It even looks aesthetically pleasing.)Bill

First things first; this combo pack DOES include the power supply but batteries are NOT included in the combo pack. Despite the great reviews, don't expect this to sound like a full-size amp; the small speaker mean this amp lacks low end. The pair does sound OK playing in stereo music through the aux input; good detail and sound quality except for the missing bass. As a practice amp, especially through headphones, this thing rocks; with the ISF control you can make it sound like a Fender or a Marshall Amp. Cleans are good but the high gain channel can sound a bit messy if you crank it to 11. The amplifier is more than loud enough for home practice even without doubling the power to 6 watts by adding the second speaker. I don't own a full-size electric amp but I've found out that running the cab-simulated headphone output into my acoustic amp's aux input gives an excellent equivalent so I probably won't bother with a 'real' electric guitar amp; this setup sounds sooo good.Dave W

I was very pleasantly surprised and the range of EQ and the control of compression the Fly 3Bass gives me, not only a great practice amp but mic it up through a PA and it sounds amazing. Great running on batteries (last about 12 hours) or mains. I did a back garden set with couple of friends on acoustic guitars me on electric bass via Fly 3 and it sounded really good so i am very pleased with my purchase. Only thing i had to do was back off tone and bass enhancer on my active bass as it slightly overpowered the amp but i get that on my stage rig as well so expected that.Barry J.

Going back and forth between the LT25 and LT40s to compare identifical presets, both sounded good and similar even with the differences in cabinet and speaker size. A subjective impression is that the LT25 sounded a bit more distant or maybe dispersed. The LT40s sounded a bit more focused. It was a tough call as the LT25 is less expensive but I walked out of there with the LT40S. For desktop placement and low volume practice, the LT40s sounds great and with plenty of low end. I don't need loud volume but this amp can fill a 16'x24' loft with sound. The USB connection to my laptop was initially a no go. After deleting and then reinstalling the application, it has sinced worked great!Wally

I wanted an amp for practicing that gave me a massive range of options for a reasonable amount of money. I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.

This is a remarkable little amplifier. The positive reviews are all justified. Very diminutive, even senior management, who tends to frown when black boxes arrive, approves. And it produces a variety of great tones in remarkable amounts bearing in mind its small size. Perhaps not for the O2, but great in our lounge and enough muscle for a small venue before it gets a bit chesty. Very happy.biga268

I use it for practice. Although it has a bass setting you can program via the phone kit, the speaker is not as good as a basic bass amp like a fender rumble. The default presets sound the best, and if you need a different sound, it's probably best to use pedals on the clean setting. The effects aren't as good as I hoped for. The chorus effect is nice; but delay, reverb, and spring could be loads better. It gets the job done and I wasn't needing the other effects to be there at all so a good purchase for me, but if you need all the features to be awesome, look elsewhere.Waukegan

Excellent value! Fender has a winner! Having a blast digging into this amp. All of the classic Fender and British amps and stomp boxes galore. I really enjoy the built in looper for quick practice and exploring ideas. Only negative comment I have (really isn't that bad), you can't store your loop(s) on the amp, at least not that I am aware of. When the amp gets turned off, your loop with its over dubs are gone. So the amp has remained on for several weeks now! 🙂Russ

Great! Sounds mono cos it is. Not as immersive as some stereo amps (but those too are practice amps). The cloud connection and wifi updates plus being able to download presents straight from your phone into the amp is so seamless. The bluetooth and app control works so well, you can even screen cast your phone to the tv and see your chain right there. Super loud, powerful rumble. Heck I even stuck my digital piano into this sucker and played the downloaded Top Gun Theme on Piano – you'd be surprised how much like a guitar a digital piano can sound through this! Have not even yet used this as an audio interface to record straight into a DAW – well worth the purchase, It's a pleasure to go back to each time – oh and the pedal, that will keep you playing for hours, so good to play a chord progression and then solo over it, you'll get lost in time doing that! The fun and practice you'll gain from this is near limitless.Ro

Overall: overall – maybe the best sounding low wattage amp ever. only small difference in sound between this & a tube amp. weak point is lack of features. they really skimped. twice the price of other compared to other practice amps that have way more features. you're really extra paying for tone here.pro's – * truly terrific tones* even if you have a tube amp that sounds good at whisper volumes (i have a 15w egnater tweaker) it's so convenient to be able to play this on top of your desk.* clean and modern settings are fantastic. i don't use the other amp settings much, but they sound great as well. the only setting i don't like is brit hi.* effects sound good* tap tempo* good tuner* the features are weak* pricey – other practice amps have many more features. they sound pretty good themselves (just not quite as nice as this). so if features are important to you, get something else. digital amps these days all sound not bad to downright good.* are the tones here so much better that it's really worth double other companies' amps? honestly hard to say, but this one does sound the best* can't save settings* one knob control of all mod effects is really limiting* can use the software to tweak settings and effects, but as soon as you unplug, you lose them* max volume on delay is occasionally not enough. usually it's ok. but sometimes, you want a little more & doesn't have it* as mentioned, brit hi setting not that great* the name "modern" might be misleading. i mentioned that modern sounds good, but, it doesn't have enough gain to get you into mesa rectifier range. you're going to need a pedal for that.A

For classic rock lovers looking for those delicious, Super Lead Plexi-type tones (think classic rock from the 60's and 70's–Hendrix, Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, etc.), this amp is for you! I am totally blown away with this amp for the price. I'm glad I pulled the trigger when I did because this amp is now $150.00 more than what I spent. I had a hard time deciding between the 50W and the 20W versions. I went with the 50W to have more clean head room, but would have been just as happy with the 20W head. And who plans to play a Marshall clean anyway? 😀 Most who purchase a Marshall are planning to crank for crunch, although you can get some nice clean tones and all that jazz :-D. The only downside with the 50W version is that you will have to bias the amp if you ever replace/swap the tubes. The 50W is not cathode/self-biasing like the 20W head, so plan on $30-$60 to bias your amp with a tube swap unless you have the equipment and know-how to bias yourself. This amp is extremely loud, even with the mid-power setting! Oh my heck is it loud! I'm running this head through an EVH EL34 2×12 with Celestion G12H 30W Anniversary speakers. Holy wow, awesome, and loud! 😀 To save your ears and keep your family and neighbors happy, I'd advise using an attenuator or power soak. With the Marshall Origin, to get those nice, crunchy, classic Marshall tones, you really have to crank the master volume to around 6-8 to saturate the power tubes and then also dial in your preamp gain to around 6-10. We're talking loud, loud, loud without an attenuator! For a very affordable power soak option, go with the Bugera PS1 (under $100.00), which will allow you to crank (even dime) this Marshall to get all those classic Marshall tones without blowing your brains out. Note–this is not a high gain Marshall amp. It's a classic rock Marshall, but it takes pedals extremely well for those wishing for more high-gain territory.AJ

This is an amazing amp! Not only is it affordable, but it's so versatile! I like to dial in an edge of breakup tone so that by rolling back the volume pot on my Guitar I have pristine cleans, roll it up for that classic "crunchy," biting clean. This amp also LOVES pedals, so when I want more gain I can step on the blue channel of my Friedman BE-OD Deluxe. Even More gain = the second channel on the BE-OD Deluxe with the mids ever so slightly cut back (now we're getting into the hard rock/metal territory). And if that's not quite heavy enough to serve a particular sound, well the internal foot-switchable boost adds a nice extra oomph. The EHX Metal M*ff is great for those extreme levels of gain (contrary to other reviews, this amp is perfectly capable of doing Metal if you utilize your favorite dirt pedals). And the effects loop is wonderful! Reverbs, Delays, Modulations…they sound great through the loop! Even on the lowest power setting, this amp is very LOUD, because that highly sought after power amp distortion that makes a Plexi so desirable demands to be heard!! Is this a Plexi? Of course not, but that magical characteristic of genuine Marshall tone is quite convincing in the Origin! IMHO, for the price, this is as close as you will ever get, and it is fantastic! If you want a good, reliable, LOUD amp with the versatility to cover all your needs, and don't want to spend 5x's as much, well this IS what you have been wishing you could find!Shasal

Unbelievable. This is NOT my Vox AC30, and nor is it my 100W Katana. However, for a package that is powered by batteries and can, quite literally, fit into the palm of your hand, the Katana Mini is simply fantastic. The amp models are brilliant and the delay (reverb) function is an excellent feature. On "clean" settings the volume of the amp is perfectly adequate and will fill a room with no issues, and on the "crunch" and "brown" settings, the amp was more than loud enough to fill a large room at 2/3 volume. Whilst I personally think that this is not quite enough for an advanced/intermediate players sole amplifier, I would completely agree that for a beginner, they would need no more than this. Having tried options from Yamaha and other brands, this is firmly my favourite battery powered micro amplifier for any level of guitarist and equipment, the tone is simply that good! The best way I can describe it is this – when I first plugged my PRS McCarty 594 into it, I was vaguely aware that I wasn't playing through my Vox. However, after five minutes or so, I had completely forgotten this wasn't a "real" amp, and had to keep looking down at the tiny box on the floor to believe it! Well done, Boss!Mr I. F.

I use it primarily as a practice amp at lower levels, but I'd feel confident doing coffee house gigs with it, and maybe smaller clubs too. It sounds warm and rich at low volumes, and the EQ is effective. All three voices are useful and I'm not left wanting. I have to make special mention of the delay. I adore reverb (including and especially spring reverb and gritty, trashy reverb of all kinds) but a simple delay circuit is way more useful in this amp. Doubling, slapback, echoes. The treble roll-off and fixed feedback are well-tuned. If you're using this for busking or other guerilla performance, you will suddenly realize that a single delay is worth more than a thousand reflections, because those reflections sound godawful* against naturally-occurring surfaces. *maybe awesome in a sound design way thoughChesterfleet

Wasn't sure about this little guy – – but the one I received was in pristine shape, with power brick and carry handle. I power it with 6 rechargeable AA Lithium batteries – and it'll run x 6 hours easy without recharging. I play an acoustic guitar (i installed a Fishman rare earth pickup) in a small orchestra with a piano, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, etc, and only need to run at about 35% max volume to blend in well with the group. The effects are great and well modeled. I'm very happy with this Roland – Highly Recommended.oxydoc

I've taken up giving lessons in my home and, in other locations and, dragging around even a moderate size amp was not in my plans. I did some shopping and, came up with the Micro Cube as my answer, WOW what a feature filled little powerhouse! I debated going to just a plain small practice amp but, after I tried one it reminded me of trying to play through an old transistor radio. Very bland boring sound and, only a push button to get an overdrive sound that sounded pretty bad. This Roland unit sounds Fantastic at 3w and, with only a 5" speaker, I don't know how they do it but, it's Great!! The convenience of battery power is something that I really enjoy also. Take it anywhere! The FX sound Super, amp models are a nice touch and, even a tuner. The 1/8" input is a nice touch to jam with backing tracks or any type of sounds. Taking this to lessons is sooo much more handier than a 30lb. amp. There is only a tone control but, it is really all you need to get the sound you want. The memory function is a handy feature so save preset sounds for each amp model. The only thing I haven't tried is to plug a Mic in and, check it out but, I definately will and, I'm betting that the results will be positive there also. I'm soooo glad I spent the extra dinero and, went with this amp. I'm very satisfied and, definately recommend this anyone looking for small portable amp for practice or any other reason to have a light weight amp that sounds really good. I don't think that I would run a bass through it but, at low volume I wouldn't be surprised that it could handle it. In general this is a great little amp. It is loud, but its frequency range is narrow. I would expect something so small to be weak on bass, but I am surprised at how poor the high frequency is. I have to turn the tone all the way up to make it sound like a regular amp. I will try different speakers and the line out into a different amp to see if the poor high end is either the speaker or amp. The headphone output sounds much better, so I believe the issue is not in the internal electronics. In general I would recommend this amp. So much that I am buying another to give to my son in college as a dorm amp. He is interested in the headphone feature, which sounds very good. As a practice amp this little thing does a great job. The effects are better on some settings than others. but I think there are more effects on this amp than other brands. The portability is great. The battery life it pretty good for how loud it is. With the line input you can not only play along to songs, unaffected by the guitar effects, but it turns your phone into a loud jam box. There is a lot of loud "bang for the buck" in the little amp.Dowacky

First off I'm an old school Sound Engineer. This little Amp does it all. It has so many uses even though it is so simple. It will teach you to learn to use the controls on your guitar better. Unlike several modeling amps this little piggy takes most stomp boxes GREAT!! Maybe he best feature is its Pre Amp Out which allows you a line into the PA or it will blow you away going into the input of your tube amp giving you a realist boost over any stomp box. At low volumes using the proper guitars pickups sparkling cleans. and this Piggy was made to be dirty. Best tool to have as a back up. Great traveling amp. Battery Life is goes a long way just get rechargeable and carry a small battery recharger in its little closed stash compartment. I don't recommend using the power cord. I'm sure there are some youngsters that differ with me but the old schoolers that like it raw and understand how to dial in their tone without playing with mods will dig this amp/fuzz box. If you have a nice clean tube amp but want some growl and extra volume pre amp this baby into your amp. I have several pedals and over drives and most all become thin bringing up the volume compared to this. it just gets thicker and more meaty as you increase the vol. My buddy are blown away with what comes out of the PA with this little Piggy and just a couple of effects my 86 RAT with this work well together.Cool mixes

I have the tweed covered version of the legendary 7-100, so it sounds the same as the leatherette covered version. I was very surprised at the rich tone of this amp. I am using it with 6 AA's not the power supply (dont know what difference that makes tonally) and it sounds like a tweed champ. You can get clean tones that have just a touch of twang with single coils or weaker humbuckers (gretsch) at a lower volume and form 1/4 of the way up you get progressively more and more tweedish ( let's face it-tweed breakup is basically distortion that fuzzes up as the gain increases) type distortion. With a tele you are in rolling stones territory, and with a humbucker equipped guitar you are in Neil Young land. It is awesome for recording, just stick your mic in front and go! It takes pedals well also. I love the simplicity-no time spent tweaking controls, plug in and rock. That said; this is not an ideal amp for a young beginner guitar player. A young kid will not appreciate what this amp gives. But for experienced players who like a "tweed' tone at a dirt cheap price this cannot be beat. Also, dont listen to the nonsense from guys who own one of the "original" ones that these new ones are no good-that's crap. The circuit has not changed regardless of who constructs it.padraic9143

Mr. Chatter is a great. The Pignose sounds line a vintage amp that gives you vintage guitar sounds from the 60s and 70s. This is a real analog amplifier not digital modeling The. Pignose is hand made and a quality piece of gear that will give many years of enjoyment with its rugged construction and quality components. The Pignose is surprisingly loud and versatile. The output jack allows you to send the Pignose to an amp or power amp/PA. I recommend getting the wall wart to save battery usage for outside use. Even the adapter fits inside of the Pignose. I got the original brown and it goes with home decor very easily. The Pignose can do cleans, overdrive and fuzz tones and does well with single coil pickups. The Pignose is very dynamic and you need to use your volume knob and hand to control the amp, like a real tube amp. Inwish I got a Pignose years ago. It is not a gimmick … its a real quality amp for children, adults and recording professionals.tnak4528

I bought this amp because my gig amp died a cyber twin 2-12s 100 watts that was about 16 years old. I have had many Fender amps they were great. I do country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. I figured 100 watts would put it out there and it does. At performing volume, the distortion is a pure heavy metal on the clean channel. Mine is not much good for high volume for my type of music. I have an old champion 110 75 watt that I will be using It has worked for me when the others were down. Not sure what to do.stev_majo

Great starter/practice amp. It gives a great tone for a great price. Gives some really great crunchy distorted tones for metal and rock. Also gives a great clean tone. Has plenty of built-in effects too. It gets pretty loud when you need it to, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack for convenience and quiet practicing. I love this amp! It is a great amp. Very good sound and options for the price. It is not heavy which is a big deal to someone who has had back surgery. I gave it a 5 in spite of one big complaint. When you turn it off you hear a loud "POP!" Wow, is that loud is what I thought the first time I heard it. I read about it online and there is a simple fix. Find an old set of ear phones or ear buds that you would use on a cassette player or a Sony Walkman. (Yes, these are ancient electronic relics from the past for you younger people. You might ask your parents if they have a cassette player and borrow the ear plugs.) Just plug that earphone jack into the "PHONES" input BEFORE you turn it off. THEN you only hear a little blip when you turn it off. THEN just pull the jack out of the "PHONES" input before you start it next time.chasmigu

I watched a Fender video of the amp and was very impressed with the capabilities and sound quality. When the amp arrived I plugged in my Telecaster and tried the first few presets. The sound coming out of this amp was dreadful. It had a flat, drab sound. It was like a transistor radio next to a Bose radio. The Mustang just sounds awful. Getting a wide variety of tones has never been easier and the Fender Tone App is cool too and works as advertised but it's just as easy to edit/store any and all parameters right from the front panel.The design of the amp handle is smooth and I appreciate the Velcro straps in the back for securing footswitch and power cord.I bought this amp for use in my home/project studio but would use at a gig no problem.It is certainly loud enough. I am upgrading from the LT25 to more power, larger sound. The LT50 is the big bother to the LT25 and they have the same preset programing functions. I like the Fender tone both amps produce, the LT50 gives more power and volume. The 30 preset are usable and it allows you to program 30 additional preset base the modeling settings. I am using the LT50 for studio recording, it has a speaker line output jack in the rear cabinet, which is a good to add to the recording mix.NYCScotto

Every guitar player on God's green earth should have one. The different tones offered with the app inspire you to play differently. It allows you to play along with the songs you love, and download the tone. It also tells you the chord progression to the song. It's an amazing Amp, and if nothing else the GREATEST speaker in the world. I could absolutely ruin my neighborhoods night with the most absurdly clear version of my favorite songs. But I could Also practice at midnight with out waking up my roommates using my headphones.

As a practice amp, you will soon lose interest if the tone is thin, boxy and generally sounds like crap. The Spark is none of this. An incredibly wide range of tones are available via the app with sounds that you just don't expect to come from such a small package. The sound is loud, rich without the boxiness that you seem to get with amps loaded with small speakers. If you've used PG's Bias software, you'll be in very familiar territory – great emulations that have a depth that rivals some of the serious modelers available now. The effects, while not giving you a massive selection, supplies pretty well every type of effect you would ever need. The reverbs and delays are particularly good and while more than good enough for noodling at home, are more than up to the task of recording. The unit is quite sturdy with a timber cabinet and looks great – very traditional with an "English" type of styling. Using the Spark as a Bluetooth player for music is more than up to the task – good bass, clean mids and treble and loads of volume. The app overall is very good with some truly inspiring practice opportunities, though the function where the app analyses your playing and constructs a suitable backing track is hit and miss and is probably the weakest part of the app. Bluetooth connection for both control functions and audio playback is stable and very quick to pair with your device. Overall, I don't think you will find and amp sounding this good with the flexibility and functions available, from anywhere else and that is before taking into consideration, the extra functions the app gives you.Mick G.

I bought this amp on the back of all the rave reviews on YouTube etc. For me, it's just not a finished product yet. It feels very "beta". The hardware seems robust and of good quality. The modelled sounds are very good, albeit very bass heavy. But most of that can be EQ'd out. There are several problems I couldn't live with, and had to sell it on. The hum problem which is due to the supplied, un-earthed PSU was very apparent in my example. I contacted Positive Grid support about the issue in December 20, and as of selling the amp at the start of March 21, I had not yet received the replacement PSU. There are temporary workarounds, but I wanted the problem sorted permanently. As said above, the sound is very bass heavy. The amp models' EQ can be used to deal with the guitar tone, but music playback through the unit via Bluetooth has no EQ control, so the sound quality is very poor. In addition to this, the playback level is far too high. When using as a Bluetooth speaker it is very difficult to get the volume low enough using the tiny trim pot volume control for comfortable listening when sat in close proximity to the unit. The Auto Chords feature is a gimmick and needs serious work. It only works for E standard guitar tuning. For example, when listening to a song in dropped standard tuning such as "Yesterday" (guitar tuned down one whole step) Auto Chords will show fingerings for F, Em, A7 etc instead of the G,. F#m, B7 shapes that are required. At the very least, a "transpose" button is required to allow for dropped standard tunings that are very common. When using the tuner, you have to look at the lights on top of the amp. The app should have a screen that displays the tuner on your connected device when in use. The app metronome tempo can only be set by tap. It should have the ability for the user to enter the exact required BPM by inputting the figure required, or selecting the tempo with up and down or + and – controls. All of these niggles were too much for me to live with. Hopefully Positive Grid implement the changes in future releases, but I won't be buying Spark again until they do.Paul
