Mini Acoustic Electric Guitar For Sale (2024 Update)

I have a number of acoustic type guitars – both steel and nylon strung. When playing these I rarely strum – it's a finger style combination of rock, flamenco, folk, blues and jazz ( a real mixture). The first thing I did was to change the strings (D'Addario Silk & Steel). As a result this little Fender beauty has turned into an excellent parlour guitar: it's responsive, lovely to play and remarkably loud for its size. Build quality is good and the sound projects well. If you're a chord strummer, I wouldn't suggest that the Sonoran is for you – but it responds superbly to finger style playing. It's subtle and responsive. For the money, it's very, very good. And of course, it's very, very easy to lug around. Love it!Gillian B.

Only gripes were that I wished the machine heads were metal instead of plastic, and that the gig bag was of higher quality (upgraded to a Fender FAC-610 Classical Guitar Gig Bag, for safer transport to lessons). I received this guitar for Christmas. Sounds nice, plays nice. Had bad buzzing on low E from first fret. Neck was ever so slightly bowed. Upon closer examination there was a long lineal split in the fret board starting at the first fret high E, skipping down to the 10th fret. A lame attempt was made to cover it up. The frets are sharp, like right off of the cutter, no sanding, mass production style. The rest of the guitar body was flawless and the FMH looks great. It has a reasonably full sound for a mini guitar. There are plenty of good reviews out there for you. I just wanted to let folks know about these potential issues. Despite these issues, I'm exchanging this guitar for another of the same and hope this particular one was a fluke. Cordoba has a good reputation.DRZ

The first thing I liked about the mini ii fmh was the action; it is nicely balanced and easy to reach the higher fret chords. The fret spacing is smaller, but it isn't too crucial. The guitar's body depth is really nice since it's fun to hold, it is lighter, and space-saving. Visually, it is different than my other guitars and draws me to pick up the instrument often. It reminds me of a ukulele, comfortability, but it is hard to believe it is an actual classical guitar. The instrument is very refined – highly recommend.neptune

Excellent fit and finish, especially for the price. Upgraded standard features not usually included with nylon-string guitars: truss rod (crucial), both strap buttons, and solid peghead (slotted pegheads are a hassle). The wide string spacing allows for best chord articulation at the left hand. The tone is crisp and full and the volume is good. Intonation is superior. Altogether a great guitar for a great price. I'm sure the regular Mini II would be just as good for even less money, but it was out of stock and I didn't want to wait.Bruce The Woodworker

I already have a small Cordoba guitar that is fantastic. Unfortunately, It doesn't have any electronics. Bought this particular model because it was small, fit in my car easily, and had from what I could tell, a decent pickup (was only intended for co-writes) Played one at the store first, and liked the size of the neck. Tone is what you would expect for a tiny guitar, but passable for my purposes. I really like Cordoba as a brand, but I spent far more time tuning this guitar than I did playing it, and ultimately wound up returning it. It seems that they could have better tuners? It didn't seem like it was a craftsmanship issue? I liked the cut away, it was for great, but the bad Intonation was not anything that could be remedied by a Luthier. Very nice looking guitar. I would pay $100 more for the same guitar, if they could trade up the tuners and remedy the intonation. Almost there, Cordoba!Magic Maria

This is a great little guitar! I have had several travel guitars including the Martin and Taylor versions and I think this beats them hands down. You can’t find a better travel guitar especially for the price. This is the third one I’ve purchased as I’ve given them away and moved them on— people appreciate them very fast. I do recommend using a little pillow wrote a tale so you’re are mangoes are the same as for a regular size guitar Makes it much easier to play any small guitar.I do recommend using a little pillow or rolled up small towel so your arm angles are the same as for any regular size guitar. This makes it much easier to play any small guitar. Very lightweight. One came with perfect action, but the other two I had to do a truss rod adjustment to get the optimal action which can be very good. The adjustment was simple. Not just for the money, its just a nice guitar! So my packaging had a few issues, it looked like it had gotten hung up on a fork lift tyne and dragged across the floor, I was nervous about opening it. But it was very well packed, not even a blemish. Everything I ordered was there, the guitar itself coming from California to South Alabama, undoubtedly passed through abrupt temperature and humidity changes, yet it was almost in tune out of the box. So much so, that I could tell that it had been tuned properly, and the QC person rolled the heads back about a half, or maybe 3 quarters of a turn just to relieve stress from the rod and neck. The E. Ball strings are pretty nice, feels like standard Bronze Phosphorus strings. I wiped them down with a clean cloth, and no dust or anything whatsoever came from them. I had no loose bindings, no sharp fret wires hanging over, and the ride height is perfect. Its almost unbelievable to get such a nice guitar for what I paid. The gig bag is certainly not the worst one I've ever seen, its padded nicely and has the backpack straps which I like. I hope that you guys never change your core business model, of offering the add-on accessory pack separately, which in my open leaves more room for nicer details like good strings, and real bone. And also allows you to offer slightly higher quality accessories. Very nicely done. I understand that now that you're up and running good, I hope that you still offer a guitar like the Rey at that low price point, for those who may be like I was growing up, and just couldn't afford a decent guitar. They always sounded like crap, couldn't tune them…and for a couple decades I just gave up. I'm back into it again, thanks to this guitar, I'm going to be upgrading soon, but I will probably always hang on to this one…I like it that much. I really like guitars from Orangewood’s “Playa” collection including my mahogany Dana mini guitar. (I also own a mahogany Rey guitar and have examined a friend’s Victoria guitar.) I will outline my recommendation reasons below, but also will attempt to temper any unrealistic expectations. Size: The diminutive Dana guitar is IMHO a great instrument for hauling around outside the home or playing where space is tight such as on the couch, or at a desk or table, where larger instruments might more readily bump into things or make playing cramped. The shorter scale length might be helpful for those with small hands, but isn’t *that* much different from longer-scale instruments to make going back and forth a big problem. Sound: A small guitar won’t have the deep, resonant tone of a larger instrument no matter how much you pay. That said, after being used for a while, the Dana “plays in” nicely — the tone getting better than out of the box. It’s voice is completely loud enough and resonant enough to satisfy reasonable expectations. Materials & construction: The bracing and general construction seem to be good. Mine is a very handsome, rich honey-chocolate brown with contrasting off-white binding. The laminated materials are a good economical choice but also don’t sacrifice much sound quality. I think this is due to the clever design of these “Playa” instruments, which seem to have thin top, back and sides as well as light bracing and a thin finish; these things together, I think, make for louder, more resonant tone. A key benefit to the laminated wood of the guitar body is that it’s less sensitive to changes in humidity and temperature. I play my laminated guitars much more frequently because they are not so “fussy” — though I do nonetheless humidify them in the winter months. The light construction may benefit from lighter strings. I prefer electric-like playability, so I restring my guitars with 10-46 strings. This makes the instrument more player friendly and may also help the guitar to last by reducing string tension. The tuners are adequate, but have turning ratios that just require slow sneaking up on perfect pitches. Set up: Of the three “Playa”-collection guitars that I’ve examined in detail, NONE arrived set up to the standards of professional guitar technicians. I believe that Orangewood way oversells the “professional” set up on their “Playa”-collection guitars. However, my Dana arrived about a year later than the others, and was the best set up of the three. This guitar arrived at my doorstep with the neck having extreme forward bow. This was not just due to string tension. The double-action truss rod was actually adjusted to increase the neck relief, which was excessive to say the least. I had to tighten the truss-rod adjustment just to get to neutral tension engagement, then continue tightening to get the neck relief to an appropriate setting of about .006”. The set up required no additional adjustment. This was a big improvement over the other “Playa” guitars I’ve examined, which required both nut and saddle tweaking. I am a guitar-tech hobbyist, so I have the tools and knowledge to check out and set up acoustic guitars. My Dana had a fingerboard that was not straight from the factory. I know this because despite the slight waviness of the fingerboard when straightened as much as possible by truss-rod adjustment, the frets are surprisingly level — though they obviously vary considerably in height to compensate for the wavy fingerboard. But let me be realistic. To be able to sell a guitar at these prices, some corners will be cut when compared to the manufacture of guitars that cost five or ten or more times the price. This also applies to guitar set up, which may be the most time-consuming, and therefore expensive, single aspect of guitar creation. So, of course, the set ups on these economy guitars will be less than perfect. (Okay, that said, Orangewood might please stop way overselling their “professional” set ups done in the USA.) So my general recommendation regarding set up on these “Playa”-collection instruments is, upon delivery, to pay a good luthier/technician to check them over to assess keeping or returning, and, if a keeper, have him or her set them up for your level of play or personal preferences (that is, if you aren’t qualified to do it yourself). And that brings up my final, important set-up point, which is that the truss rod's purpose is to compensate against string tension. Action is properly adjusted at the nut and saddle. Bottom line: I have the Orangewood guitars because they are a good value, they sound good, they don’t require obsessive attention to humidity or temperature, and can be fun to play both for a beginner and a more experienced guitar player. The Dana fulfilled my final requirements, which were a guitar that travels more easily and doesn’t require quite so much space to play.Doug H.

+ It's a 580mm scale classical guitar – like a typical 1/2 size guitar – but slightly shorter, slightly less deep, moderately lighter and significantly less wide than most. Portable enough to take with you anywhere. I measured the air resonance frequency to be D♭/E. + The woods used are very nice. The solid spruce, padauk (presumably laminate) and mahogany look great and the build quality is nice for the price point. – Sustain is unbalanced. High notes decay rapidly, while sustain in the bass is OK. Play an E major chord in first position, and after ~4 seconds you will only hear the low E-B-E. – I expected a bit more clarity from the solid spruce top. It sounds a bit muddy when used as intended, using standard tuning with high tension strings. + I found that using normal tension strings (Augustine Reds) and tuning up a minor third (i.e. G Standard tuning) adds significant clarity and sweetness to the sound quality. Also tried 2 and 4 semitones but 3 seems to be the sweet spot. – Mine has some slight fret buzz on the D string at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th frets. Adjusting the action does not help much; I think this is due to the fret wires being slightly shorter than standard. Playing closer to the fret wire prevents this. Overall, for what it is – a travel-sized classical guitar you can take with you anywhere – any shortcomings in terms of sound are outweighed by its portability, general build quality and relatively low cost.Danny

I'll be the first to review this bad boy..it's awesome. I was at Guitar Center to test play acoustics, and in particular see if a classical guitar was something I wanted to spend my limited guitar hobby budget on. I already have a Fender acoustic, so I was looking for something that would have strength in areas my steel string guitar doesn't have. I've also been playing Spanish romance music like Romance de Amor, and Al Ahambra. So with that in mind I was fingerpicking these, as I tested guitars out. This unusually small guitar wouldn't typically be something I would go for. I just wouldn't spend 250 on something that seems like "less" if that makes any sense. A large body guitar is known for having more sound, because bigger body cavity=bigger sound right?? Well that is wrong, according to what this guitar is telling me! It's small size really packs a mid and high range power that is something to be heard. Even the bass comes in just fine, although not as impressively. I've been fingerpicking Spanish classical, bluegrass, and flatpicking pop hits on it. Sounds amazing! It's worth looking at, if you have an open mind to a smaller guitar, and just listen to what your ears tell you.Richard

I’ve been playing a Taylor 310 for 25 years and was looking for something smaller and lighter to transport. Having read a lot of reviews and listened to the videos I thought I would try the GS Mini Koa and see what all the fuzz was about. This guitar sounds amazing! The Koa gives it a depth AND sparkle that you don’t expect from a small guitar. I keep asking myself does it lack depth compared to my dreadnought, technically it does but actually I don’t miss it because the sound is so full. The volume too is quite exceptional, I tend to strum a lot with a pick and don’t mind digging in hard….. this guitar just sings under those circumstances. It get’s louder and louder without noticeably going out of tune. At the other end there is such clarity and sustain that quiet finger picking also sounds great. You can easily hear a single note melody within a chord. Are there any downsides? Well if you have big hands then the reduced neck length may feel too cramped…. For me this is actually more comfortable than a full size neck but you wouldn’t want it any smaller. In summary I’m blown away, just amazing.David

Wow… what a stunner! Opening the case for the first time was quite an experience. This is a seriously beautiful guitar with beautiful craftsmanship. As a beginner with small hands (even for a lady) I have found acoustic guitars in the past to be very uncomfortable to play, the size of the body, the width of the neck, the high action, and after struggling with a Lorenzo Flame Series for the past year I decided enough was enough, electrics aren't almost impossible to play so why should I have to struggle with acoustic? I did some research and everything was pointing me towards the Taylor GS Mini-E series. Holding this guitar in my hands for the first time felt like a revelation. It felt like Taylor had made a guitar specifically for me – wearing a strap the body fits easily under my arm and my fingers just know exactly where they're meant to go. The sound of the guitar is rich and vibrant with a bright top tone – quite a feat in a parlour size guitar. After watching reviews it seems that this is due to the Koa body. The guitar also comes with soft, well-padded case that feels like it'll protect well from bumps and bruises whilst travelling. It has some nice shoulder straps so it feels like you're wearing a large (but light!) backpack. The best thing about this guitar though is that it's such a joy to hold and play that I can't put it down; my playing ability has increased so much in the past few weeks since buying it. As a beginner I absolutely recommend this guitar as an introduction to acoustic guitars. If you're a beginner and you've been playing an electric for while but want to get into playing acoustic, try out a Taylor GS Mini-e – it might be the one for you.Laura K.

I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. That's really impressive for a Chinese guitar. Heck even one of my Mexican Martins needed fret dressing out of the box! Also intonation was spot on and this also is important in your guitar. Very impressed with this guitar, intermediate/advanced feel but priced at a beginner budget. You won't regret picking one up, I assure you!Big Bone Murphy

There is a point of quality when an instrument reaches when it stops being seen as "better or worse" but rather just a different flavor. This Yamaha has reached that point. You can play it alongside a guitar costing 5x more and it stands up well. Yamaha is also one of those rare companies with a long history of top quality across all kinds of products, and guitars are an area Yamaha knows well. This is just a beautiful guitar through and throughout. You can get beautiful uncompromisingly great studio recordings with this guitar. Hitting the low strings hard with strumming gives a nice deep and rich tone. Also, the hardware / tuners are nice.Scott

I've owned many acoustics over the years, MANY, and this Yamaha is one of the best sounding I've ever owned. Went to GC just to check out a few lower end acoustics to pick up for jamming on, and tried almost every one in the room. Picked this one up last just before I was ready to leave, and immediately was blown away by the sound and playability, brought a couple friends to listen and tell me which one they thought sounded the best, and hands down this won over all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. Great guitar, wouldn't hesitate to buy another in a different color, if you want something that you won't be able to put down this baby has the sound and feel your looking for.Johnny D

This is an amazing sounding instrument for the price. The quality of craftsmanship is that of a much more expensive instrument. And to top if off, it sounds great. The neck feels better than more expensive Martins. I liken it to an Australian Maton. And it comes with a solid gig bag. Highly recommended.Beninem80

I suspect that our review will be screened out because it is not positive, but if you really want to know we were very disappointed with the guitar. I’m addition to some quality concerns, the guitar reeked of fumes. I had hope to enroll our child in local classes that use the guitar but I could not, as responsible parent give my child an item that I could not be around with our lung pain and head-aces. After many, many weeks attempting to air the guitar out it still smelled just as awful and caused the same health concerns. When I reached out Loog sent me a letter stating that the fumes were an unfortunate quality control issue but they deemed them safe. I was horrified that a company manufacturing items for children would so easily disregard their health, as previously stated I could not be in the same space as the guitar for more than a few seconds with out lung pain and head-aces, nothing about that is okay.Heather B.

I purchased a Loog Mini for my 3-year old toddler. It is a darling guitar that is just what I was looking for…However, here are my issues with it: (1) Upon arrival, I noticed that there was a cosmetic blemish on it. I didn't want to bother with a return process, so I kept it. (2) A few weeks later, I noticed that one of the guitar strings had rusted. (3) As the Loog company is in the business of children's guitars, it should equally invest in a wider selection of children's guitar straps. It is impossible to find one to accommodate my child's size. (4) The flash cards are cute but not very helpful. More emphasis is placed on the illustrations, rather than on the musical notes. Additionally, I don't find the Loog application helpful in my child's learning so we have taken to YouTube to provide us a better understanding. Overall, the Loog Mini is a sweet instrument and I find no flaws in its design but I am minimally impressed with the learning aids provided/associated with it.Olga F.

I've been playing the guitar for about 20 years, and I've made it a habit to play to my 8 month old son every evening since he was born. His attention and focus towards the guitar was immediate, where he wants to hit the fretboard and pull on the strings as I play. I would hand him my acoustic as I played the electric and he would enjoy exploring it for a good 15 minutes. I came across the Loog a while back and decided to buy my son one so that he could continue to explore the guitar while decreasing my worries of him damaging my fairly nice acoustic. I'm impressed with its quality and durability, and I find myself picking it up to play fairly often too. Because it's only 3 strings, it's also helped my wife and sister, who have never played the guitar, feel less intimidated to try it out. They're using the flashcards and app to learn simple chords and songs. I'm excited for the day my son can imitate playing skills, and I believe that starting him off with a 3-stringed guitar will be a more rewarding play experience versus a 6 string.Jonathan S.

For what it is – a very cheap, small, travel guitar, this is great. You'll need a strap as it doesn't sit high enough on your leg to be comfortable to play. Also – the action was high, but a bit of adjusting with a belt sander on the saddle and that came down well. The scale length is short, but plays OK – takes a bit of getting used to from my full-sized acoustics. Putting a capo on it and making chords further up the neck is tight, but OK. Sound is very good for a travel guitar of this size. This would be a great kids guitar or even for an adult beginner. I did put 11s on it – sounds a bit weaker, but is fine, and that's what I use on my other acoustics. I had a washburn rover before – this is better, though not as small, but worth the extra size, I think. I have a GS Mini, which is much better, but a good bit larger, and much more expensive. Tuner works good, haven't tried plugging it in yet. Bought this for the boat – seems pretty sturdy.Alexander

I bought this guitar because I have chronic pain and am a small lady and found that even smaller acoustic guitars are too big and bulky and unplayable. I like to play high up on the neck so wanted a cutaway and occasionally perform so having an electro-acoustic version means it ticks all the boxes. When play acoustically it does sound really tinny, there's not getting away from that. It also tends to be unbalanced toward the neck end, so I need a strap to keep it in place. But it is much more playable for practice and I am almost managing to play bar chords again. Not chance on a normal size guitar. It has a full fret board just smaller but not too small.Michelle S.

I ordered this for my pastors wife who wanted to learn a new instrument. She is tiny ( less that 5 ' tall) and a full size guitar would not fit her body type. I was shocked when the guitar came in. The photos on line do not do the finish justice. I was even more shocked when I played it. Most student guitars in this price point have horrible action. The set up on this from the factory was great. It was very easy to play and the sound was extremely good for a thin body acoustic . Then we plugged it in. I could not believe the sound quality of the electronics in this guitar. On Sunday, I pulled out after church and let the music team take turns with it. Everyone that played it raved about every aspect of this little guitar. The instrument also came with a quality gig bag. The material was thick, padding was good, the zippers and hardware appeared to by sturdy. Even more importantly, she loved the guitar. I highly recommend that you consider this one for your beginner or intermediate guitar student. Both Children and small adults should be pleased with this one.Greg H.

I really liked this little guitar, BUT…I read the reviews and decided to buy in-store so I could play the guitar before buying, and I'm SO glad I did. I went into my local Guitar Center and played THREE of these Martin LX1E guitars, including one that had been specially unboxed so I could try it after two others failed my examination. All three guitars had a very pronounced buzz in the frets. It was not that noticeable when I played them acoustically, but the buzz was very noticeable when I plugged them in to an amp. I even tested the amp with other guitars, to make sure it wasn't the amp. It wasn't. Its a great little guitar, great tone and very playable, BUT my advice would be not to buy this one on-line. Play it first. Play up and down the whole fretboard, and plug it into an amplifier and play again. I have been playing for more than fifty years and have never experienced playing three brand new Martins that were simply not up to snuff. Weird!Tele Playr

The guitar itself can have five stars. Nothing wrong with it. The problem I have is that it is not the old LX1E lefty that Martin used to make and I used to own. It is advertised incorrectly here as containing the Fishman I-sys electronics that contained a volume, base/treble controls and a phasing button for feedback. It also no longer contains the tuner. This is basically the LX1 Little Martin with a Sonitone pickup under the bridge and tone/volume control in the sound hole, which I despise. I prefer the old version where the tuner and controls were on top side (as shown in the picture variety). This needs to be updated!!! I now have no tuner on this guitar when I fully expected one. I would recommend the Little Martin guitar but it needs to be advertised correctly.Jules

I bought this guitar for my son so he can have a smaller guitar to lug around in school. We were surprised when we received the product that the pickup that was installed is a Sonitone pickup instead of what's advertised – an Isys T preamp. The Isys preamp has a tuner, phase and tone control whereas the Sonitone is built into the sound hole and only has the volume and tone control. I brought this up with customer support saying I only wanted the product that I thought we were buying. I received excuses and a repeated offer to return the guitar. We chose to keep it because we need it and like the Martin sound. However MF does not stand up to what they advertise and could not provide a reasonable explanation why the product was switched. Even as I write this review, the description still says it has the Isys pickup. Good luck to future buyers and know that you are buying a different product.Pasigenyo

You get a 3/4 size acoustic guitar, of course, for the size. I already had the Yamaha APX500III which is a truly magnificent price-point instrument. The thinlne body moves you away from the bloat of a regular size dreadnought. All of the features of the larger brother are implemented in the APX Thinline 3/4: built-in tuner, volume and tone controls. The reason I wanted a comparable guitar in 3/4 size was to have it in my office nearby, ready to pick up at a moment's notice and for that it serves me perfectly. You can sit in an executive swivel chair and play this guitar comfortably. Do not delude yourself into thinking the big sound of the bigger thinline will transfer to the smaller guitar when play unamplified. When amplified the difference is slight. So now I have what I wanted – a quality price point smaller guitar that sits on a stand in easy reach for those moments when you need to reach out and find a way to explore a musical idea, run some scales, etc. Perfect solution!Jerry

Although I bought this guitar online from PMT (excellent service) I also posted a detailed review on Amazon UK where I also counselled against paying the stupid prices being charged by some of their affiliates. The PMT price was excellent. There were a few negatives with my guitar, all of which I was able to cure or tweak: the action was ridiculously high and until I altered the battery holder, the pickup and tuner wouldn't work. However, they were hopefully one-off problems. The guitar has far better tone that you might expect from an all-laminate guitar, especially if you play above the soundhole or at the end of the fretboard at around the 17th fret. Played with a hard pick it can sound a bit 'thin' but played with fingers or with a less aggressive 'attack' it has a really sweet sound. I am 75 with normally sized adult hands and do not find any problems with the fretting or scale length. Having made the adjustments, it's become my go-to acoustic guitar . . . and as I also have a GS Mini, that it is praise indeed. If you buy this guitar, I'd suggest changing the strings although the generic type which are fitted are OK. I changed them whilst shaving the saddle and fitted D'Addario 10's. This guitar is ideal for adult 'noodling' + a beginner of any age + a travel guitar. It has proved to be an excellent buy . . . for more detail, check out my review on Amazon UK but I doubt you'll find a better price or service than PMT.Alan S.

Funny thing about this world is that, a perfectly shaped, and sized acoustic guitar with modern electric pick-up and built-in tuner. The maker gives you a gigs bag, which is not much thicker than double bags from your local grocery store. And you must become religiously pious and pray that every time you go out of the door, that free gigs bag is gonna protect your $200 investment. I ended up purchased in extra, a Gator Hardshell case, GWE-acou 3/4. The case is still big, so I use some swimming noodles to pad up and cradle the guitar in full protection. The plush liner inside the hardshell case can be peeled up, so I can tuck in the noodles to form a snug fit. I also purchased an Amplifier, for practices and maybe buskering later. My setup of the case is not flight luggage safe, so if you are a frequent flyer, better ask nicely if you can give it to the cabin member to stow in the closet for you. I am personally happy with the sound range and volume, very little difference when compared with a full-sized guitar. The human comfort is better under your right elbow. The deal I got comes with a tuner, but the guitar already has a built-in unit running on 2 AA batteries. The free stand is ok.djadtoys

I loved the sound, sustain and warmth of this guitar off the shelf. Sounds great acoustically or direct through a board or through my Marshall amp. This is my go to acoustic over my Martin. I had some trouble finding the right strings when it came time to replace the ones that came on it from the factory. I recommend D'Addario EJ40 Silk & Steel Folk Guitar Strings 11-47. They keep the warmth of the original sound and have a great feel. I tried others like Martin Phosphor Bronze and they were too brassy/tinny on this guitar.k8thnote

Really nice guitar, aside from the price. Considering price, this is a great value. This small body Guitar fits Even my tall daughter and tall son, and I notice that friends who come over choose this guitar over others to just sit down and play with or without amp. Sounds really nice along with the piano also. I took this off of a local guitar store wall display, fell in love and purchased on the spot. Now, I do own more expensive guitars, but that doesn't mean lower cost guitars are lower quality. This Is a Well Built Guitar. The tone is rich. Tuning with the built in tuner is pretty darn accurate, Great playability and beautiful Finish. The D'addario EXP strings are a perfect match. There is a buzzing of the third string around the 2nd fret and 4th string open. I have had the action tonal balance adjusted and has gotten better, but not completely eliminated which has caused me to approach playing this guitar a little differently. My first guitar was a Yamaha and I have come back to them after playing approx. 40 years now. I would highly recommend this guitar.billr920

I wanted a parlor guitar after having a dreadnaught for a few years and this guitar feels and plays better than all of the others. I've always picked it up at the local store and today it came home with me as a Fathers day gift to myself. The curved walnut binding makes this the most comfortable acoustic I've ever held in my hands. I'm going to be playing on this for hours this weekend.JP

I'm very happy with this guitar, as I am with other Washburn products. The wood is beautiful and I like the satin finish. The sound is as good or better than the Little Martin. A few minor things on finish that could be a little better, but nothing really bad. Just a little light file work on a couple fret edges. I wanted a smaller guitar to relax and play around with, as well as to take along traveling. This fits the bill as good as anything I have come across. The padded gig bag is very nice as well. This would also make a wonderful first guitar for younger players.brucevee

I own the spruce top rosewood back and side version. Love the beveled armrest and scooped out upper bout. Mine has a solid top and for a little guitar puts out good volume. The matte finish gives it a very organic feel . action needed a neck adjustment. now would match it against much more expensive alternatives .Has a Southwestern vibe to it and the gig bag that comes with it very well made. I was looking for a travel guitar that sounded half way decent. I saw the Ibanez and checked out some clips on You Tube of folks playing it. Sounded pretty good. The thing is well built, has clean bracing and a rosewood neck and bridge. One piece back with false center purfling (painted on). Bound top and bottom. Ogonkol wood, likely a laminate. But pretty darn decent tone and sustain. Mine came with very low action, and very light gauge strings. So I plan to shim the bridge saddle. Likely not capable of handling strings of anything but a light gauge. Tuners are OK, some have reported trouble with them. But that is probably more to do with string gauge than the mechanics. The neck is small for those who have played a full size guitar and are now switching. I play mandolin, too. So its an easy change to this size of neck. Tuned a fourth up from standard, and as was pointed out previously, essentially a requinto tuning. Overall as very decent little travel instrument for an extremely reasonable price. I was looking for a tiny guitar because of pain in my right shoulder even from playing my Taylor GS Mini guitar. I chose this instrument because it's so small, I like the sound of steel strings, my fingers on the left hand are already calloused, and especially because the neck is much more narrow than that of the many nylon string models – less cause for pain in the left hand. At first, the neck was so narrow that I couldn't fit my fingers to form chords and thought I'd have to return it. With continued practice, however, it became easy to play. Now, it's so much fun to play, I can't stop. I thought I'd retune it to E to E like a guitar because it would be too much trouble to transpose all my songs to a different key, also that it would be too hard to play with other people. Now I realize, it's no big deal. If, for example, they play in C, I play in G, always 5 notes up. I've fallen in love with the unique sound – sort of like an autoharp or banjo. The people that I play guitar with love that it adds another quality of sound. It's not just another guitar. It's also a pretty little instrument. I highly recommend it.jeannie7is

I’ve been playing a Taylor 310 for 25 years and was looking for something smaller and lighter to transport. Having read a lot of reviews and listened to the videos I thought I would try the GS Mini Koa and see what all the fuzz was about. This guitar sounds amazing! The Koa gives it a depth AND sparkle that you don’t expect from a small guitar. I keep asking myself does it lack depth compared to my dreadnought, technically it does but actually I don’t miss it because the sound is so full. The volume too is quite exceptional, I tend to strum a lot with a pick and don’t mind digging in hard….. this guitar just sings under those circumstances. It get’s louder and louder without noticeably going out of tune. At the other end there is such clarity and sustain that quiet finger picking also sounds great. You can easily hear a single note melody within a chord. Are there any downsides? Well if you have big hands then the reduced neck length may feel too cramped…. For me this is actually more comfortable than a full size neck but you wouldn’t want it any smaller. In summary I’m blown away, just amazing.David

Wow… what a stunner! Opening the case for the first time was quite an experience. This is a seriously beautiful guitar with beautiful craftsmanship. As a beginner with small hands (even for a lady) I have found acoustic guitars in the past to be very uncomfortable to play, the size of the body, the width of the neck, the high action, and after struggling with a Lorenzo Flame Series for the past year I decided enough was enough, electrics aren't almost impossible to play so why should I have to struggle with acoustic? I did some research and everything was pointing me towards the Taylor GS Mini-E series. Holding this guitar in my hands for the first time felt like a revelation. It felt like Taylor had made a guitar specifically for me – wearing a strap the body fits easily under my arm and my fingers just know exactly where they're meant to go. The sound of the guitar is rich and vibrant with a bright top tone – quite a feat in a parlour size guitar. After watching reviews it seems that this is due to the Koa body. The guitar also comes with soft, well-padded case that feels like it'll protect well from bumps and bruises whilst travelling. It has some nice shoulder straps so it feels like you're wearing a large (but light!) backpack. The best thing about this guitar though is that it's such a joy to hold and play that I can't put it down; my playing ability has increased so much in the past few weeks since buying it. As a beginner I absolutely recommend this guitar as an introduction to acoustic guitars. If you're a beginner and you've been playing an electric for while but want to get into playing acoustic, try out a Taylor GS Mini-e – it might be the one for you.Laura K.

We got this for my girlfriend's daughter but I got a chance to play it a little. It sounds a little small or boxy compared to the richness of my 3/4 size Taylor guitars but it still sounds good. In fact I was fairly impress with the mid to upper range sound; it was the lack of a proportional amount of bass that made the guitar sound a little small. Also, there was kind of a weird or unusual fret buzz when clamping your fingers down at the 10th & 12th frets. Overall for the price we are pretty happy; it's a good starter guitar but don't expect much more than this out of it.thegrudge836

Soulful is an understatement, when trying to describe the tone and vibe, of this Dean AXS acoustic Parlor guitar! The sound, neck and playability, are all over the top, for such an inexpensive and beautifully constructed piece of guitar craftsmanship. I can’t say enough great things about this axe! I have been working with the early Robert Johnson recorded songs, with a stop and go, (pause and play) method to add to my guitar “library” and memory. I tuned to “G” and put a slide on my left ring finger, and that was that! There are other Parlor guitars that are probably in the sane class as this Dean is, but you’d probably have to pay a heck of a-lot more! Get this one, and be happy!Chuck

I found this guitar amazing…I research a lot of mini, travel, and parlor guitars. The size is perfect.. It's so much more comfortable than my Ovation. It has a down home " earthy" sound. I was impressed with the range and quality of volume. New strings will make a difference…I was looking for a guitar that was smaller, easy to play, and looked good. Well, with this guitar I found it. Having relatively recently started learning guitar on an electric stratocaster-style guitar this was a great transition to the acoustic segment. The thinner body makes it much more comfortable to play than say a dreadnought and the neck is comfortable to transition too, yet the guitar doesn't seem to sacrifice as much sound as you'd expect from a thinner guitar. The finish of the guitar is that of a more expensive guitar for example the rosewood finger board. On arrival I actually thought the guitar looked better than the pictures on the website suggest but do note that because of the finish it is prone to showing finger marks which would need cleaning time to time. I would highly recommend this guitar.Richard P.

After suffering a permanent back injury I could no longer play my elictric guitar as it was too heavy or my acoustic electric guitar because it felt like it was twice it's normal size because I could no longer find a comfortable position for myself to play it. I bought a keyboard thinking that I could still play music. Afterv two weeks of playing around with the keyboard I gave up pllaying. Then I saw on the internet one night an advertisement for a 3/4 size Yamaha acoustic electric guitar guitar with a slimline bosy which looked like a nice guitar so I checked out males and females playing it and sounded very nice so I bought one. Man am I'm so glad I did. I got the sunburst like this one on sale. I was excited as l took it out of the box and went straight to my mancave and started playing it. It was perfecty in tune and for a guitar of this size it's got such a beautiful tone playing ACOUSTIC. So I plugged it in and it's as good as it sounded on YouTube. As an 67 yesr old man who started playing guitar when I was 16 years old, this is a beauty. I recommend this guitar to beginners, anyone with small hands and even people who want a good guitar to take with them without taking up much space in your car. Yep, it's a beaty.Deano
