I bought to of these to run as a stereo pair for guitar amplifiers in a live environment. They are terrific! They handle whatever two 100 watt amps can throw at them and do not color the sound in any sort of negative manner. They definitely let the amps tone shine right through. I went from two classic Sm57s to these and I just notice more clarity and detail than I did with the 57s. Mic placement is a breeze. I spent all of 5 minutes with a pre-recorded loop figuring out the most natural sound and its very easy to find the large sweetspot with these mics. Again, the 57 does not have a huge sweet spot.Blakemore
These mics came highly recommended by another sound engineer I know and, having owned the lesser e609 mics, I decided to take the plunge when I found these at a fantastic price. Pros: Excellent sound quality. Have used it in front of a few different types of bands guitar amps and found it did a fine job whether they played the blues or rock. The filter suggestions in the manual worked and I look forward to trying it with a heavier band to see how it does. I have a Demeter Silent Speaker Iso Box that I have been using a 57 and a 58 in with semi-satisfying results. I built a second box to put the Demeter in to even further cut down on the sound levels in my studio. I have taken the door off of the Demeter to let it breath and it takes away all the boxiness of the sound. The only thing missing was this mic! It sounds so much better I can't even believe it! It's so much more balanced and it has smoothed out the mids that have a tendency to build up in a small space like this. Blending the 58 in brings back a little of the "mid scoop" present in the 906. The super cardioid polar pattern of this mic is perfect for this application. From clean to crunch to distortion, my iso rig now sounds like a mic'd up cab in a dead room. All of my stomp boxes and guitars are now in play as they sound like real guitars and not mid range and nasally toys. I am blown away! Buy this mic and follow this recipe if you want an iso box to sound like an isolation room. If you're expecting an amazing Marshall sound, you might want to invest in some of the bigger amps Marshall has to offer. If you think you can get a concert level sound out of this little guy, you will not be the happiest person. However, that level of "high" expectation would not be very reasonable or even realistic for such a little amp. This is a very cute, small amp that will help you plug your guitar so you can practice quietly in any room in your house without annoying your wife. It will distort if you crank the volume all the way out, and if you're used to the full sound of a bigger Marshall (like I do) it might make you feel like you're hearing your guitar over an old telephone (just my opinion). However, if you calibrate your instrument volume & tone you can find a happy medium. With that said, for the price it is a very nice solution to practice and if the sound seems too weak for you, you have the choice of putting headphones. I personally use it just for practice on the fly, it serves it purpose, but then again I was not expecting the best sound output. So I am happy with the purchase.BeeZee
It's basically a toy amp. I can see it being used as a portable amp for non-serious performance. Personally, I like it for a quick jam and for (relatively) quiet practice in my apartment setting. Won't disturb my neighbors but it does get noticeable at the highest volume. That and the overdrive knob are the two main controls. By default it just does a clean sound but overdrive lets you toggle in some gain for that distortion. It has a good look that definitely models after its bigger brothers.Rick
I don't know what some of you guys expect from this thing, but be realistic: it's an inexpensive 5 inch tall, 1 watt amp. It's not designed for anything but sitting in a chair and entertaining yourself or a couple of people. Within that context, I enjoy this thing and sometimes get it off the shelf and play around with it for awhile. Also, when I owed somebody a 1 minute long riff for his podcast and my main amp was getting some regular tech service, I plugged my American Standard Strat into this thing, mic'd the amp, used the OD channel with the volume and tone both on 10, played the part, then added tons of bass, reverb, and chorus to it in post, and it sounded great and nobody ever knew that I recorded the part using a 5 inch tall amp. I just completed my Mod 102 kit. An excellent experience! I was delighted with the quality of components, clarity of instructions, and, perhaps most importantly, the sound of the amp. It is very loud – currently running into my Fender Twin Reverb cab (2×12) and very sweet! I will be running it into a new 1×12 cab with a new Celestion G12 M Heritage 'Greenback' when I get a case for the speaker (on order). My only criticism (and something to look out for) is that the chassis is very nicely painted in gray gunmetal paint. Even following the directions to file all the holes, it is very hard to get a good ground connection at every point a terminal strip connects. I worried about this, and about 1/3rd of the way through the build, took an ohm meter to check all the connections, and as I had suspected, some of the connections were not great (9-10 ohms or so!) So I removed the terminal strips (with the components I had already soldered still attached) and scraped away the paint under the tabs of the strips to ensure a good connection. Re-testing showed virtually zero resistance. I'd strongly recommend scraping the paint away at all holes under the chassis before getting started on the build. Even better, suggest that Amplified Parts leave the inside chassis unpainted (at least around the important holes). Aside that one criticism, I am delighted with the kit and with Amplified Parts. Everything was delivered promptly and they are a class outift. I'll probably try some of their other kits soon.vpmerlyn
I spent three evenings building the MOD102. The instructions are very easy to understand and the amp has a great Fender sound. I had one grounding issue that was easily fixed with a little help from tech support, which was excellent. If you're good at following step by step instructions and can solder well this is a fun little amp to build. Only small issue is the labels. They could stand an improvement.Brandon
I just finished this amp build and it sounds fantastic! I also just finished a Marshall 18 Watt clone and I have to say that the Mod102+ holds its own very nicely alongside the Marshall. In fact, I will probably use the Mod102+ for recording because it sounds amazing at lower volumes (the Marshall is loud AF). Honestly, if I were only going to build one of them today, it would be the Mod. I'm blown away by the tone! Great kit with excellent instructions. Great bang for the buck. The parts all seem to be top quality. I love the old style cloth solid core wire, too. I find it much easier to work with than modern stranded wire. The labels are a bit lame but I covered them with packing tape as suggested before cutting them out and they look fine. If you're thinking about building an amp, build this one.danjbeckett

Um im Wohnzimmer auf der Couch ein wenig zu klimpern ist dieser Amp geradezu genial . Vom Gewicht her sehr leicht und auch von der Größe ist es ideal den Amp direkt neben sich zu haben . Der Clean-Sound kann richtig laut sein ohne zu zerren . Mit dem Overdrive Regler kann man schon recht schöne Crunch-Sounds erreichen . Ist natürlich nicht vergleichbar mit einem großen Röhrenverstärker , aber das darf man bei einem Preis von unter 50 € auch nicht erwarten . Mit externen Effekt Geräten die man zwischen Gitarre und Amp hängt kann man noch viel mehr Sounds rausholen . Ist alles möglich . Als Übungs-Amp für zu Hause ideal .

Purchased a Yamaha SLG200S and wanted an amp to go with it, as this part of the silent guitar family it was a no brainer. The size, tones, volume, software, portability and that fact it can be battery powered are all plusses, and it looks great with the faux tube glow. It's plenty loud and sounds great, make sure to use the software to really dial in the sound. Currently the only amp I own, as the only powered guitar I have is the SLG200S.
A great mini amp suited to acoustic guitars for private use applications in living rooms or bedrooms. The sound quality is very crisp and clear. There is a choice of microphone emulation to simulate mic-ing up your acoustic guitar. The signal from this mini amp can be fed into a PA or a mixing desk using the Phones output socket. This amp is not really suitable for rock electric guitar sounds like crunch and distortion. The Yamaha THR5 is more suitable for this purpose.Danny
I have looked at the Yamaha THR line of amps many times in various retail shops. Finally saw one on MF in open box condition. Thought, "What the heck." Looks and functions as new. I bought the THR5A to use with my acoustic-electrics. I wanted a small portable amp with good effects for small venues and home practice. For me, a solo singer song writer playing originals, this little amp is a true gem. I use it for effects support in stereo, the other line run through my 40 watt Fender Acoustasonic. For years I have used the durable Acoustasonic as my PA, monitor, and for my vocals, and my Boss RC3 Looper. The THR5A is used simply to tweak the sound of the guitar. The effects are very nice, lots of range to dial in. The modeled Mics offer enough variety to cover the 3 different AE guitars I use. (Carvin AC175, Carvin AE185, Huss and Dalton CM). I can even use my OCD pedal through the THR5A for playing blues leads over the Loops. I would recommend this amp to any player of AE guitars because the sound quality out of this small inexpensive amp is truly amazing. But remember young squires, the THR5A is a very low watt amp with tiny speakers, so do not expect it to support you in a setting of more than 15-20 attentive listeners!Surflad

Unbelievable. This is NOT my Vox AC30, and nor is it my 100W Katana. However, for a package that is powered by batteries and can, quite literally, fit into the palm of your hand, the Katana Mini is simply fantastic. The amp models are brilliant and the delay (reverb) function is an excellent feature. On "clean" settings the volume of the amp is perfectly adequate and will fill a room with no issues, and on the "crunch" and "brown" settings, the amp was more than loud enough to fill a large room at 2/3 volume. Whilst I personally think that this is not quite enough for an advanced/intermediate players sole amplifier, I would completely agree that for a beginner, they would need no more than this. Having tried options from Yamaha and other brands, this is firmly my favourite battery powered micro amplifier for any level of guitarist and equipment, the tone is simply that good! The best way I can describe it is this – when I first plugged my PRS McCarty 594 into it, I was vaguely aware that I wasn't playing through my Vox. However, after five minutes or so, I had completely forgotten this wasn't a "real" amp, and had to keep looking down at the tiny box on the floor to believe it! Well done, Boss!Mr I. F.
Overall: I've been a bass player since 83 and just picked up the guitar a year or two ago. I purchased a guitar a few months ago and didn't have funds for an amp. So, after watching countless vids and reading many reviews, I favored this one the most. No local stores had a katana under 50w so, the payment plan zZounds had was perfect and received this little beast on Wednesday. With that said, no vid or review could compare to the hands on experience. For a 7w amp, this truly is a must have and the sound is 100% phenomenal. I'm personally not into effect pedals and what features this amp has, is just enough for me. The delay is just right as well as clean/crunch and brown features. The only problem that I have is, though it comes with 6 AA batteries, the adapter would've been more preffered.Other than that, I highly reccomend this amp to everyone, and would highly recommend zZounds payment plans (if your credit card qualifies) and customer service is great tooOne more thing, it's a lot smaller than I thought and that's one of the many reasons why I reccomend this to everyone.
I use it primarily as a practice amp at lower levels, but I'd feel confident doing coffee house gigs with it, and maybe smaller clubs too. It sounds warm and rich at low volumes, and the EQ is effective. All three voices are useful and I'm not left wanting. I have to make special mention of the delay. I adore reverb (including and especially spring reverb and gritty, trashy reverb of all kinds) but a simple delay circuit is way more useful in this amp. Doubling, slapback, echoes. The treble roll-off and fixed feedback are well-tuned. If you're using this for busking or other guerilla performance, you will suddenly realize that a single delay is worth more than a thousand reflections, because those reflections sound godawful* against naturally-occurring surfaces. *maybe awesome in a sound design way thoughChesterfleet

I bought the amplifier based on sound clips and others reviews. I love the amps clean channel with OD, Eq and delay in the signal chain for my driven sound. It gets a very articulated, clear, deep throaty sound that is intoxicating for rock sounds. I only have to turn it up to about 4-5 to be clearly heard in the mix. I don't care much for the OD channel as I find it a bit harsh for my taste, even when I dial it back a bit & Eq. it. The only comparisons I have are to my VOX AC 50 and Mesa V mark 25 valve amps. This is a good amp that will give you different results based on your pickups and speaker cab. The tone stack is a bit dark so I like it less with humbuckers than with single coils, but it's still very useable either way. Depending on how you set it, it may or may not have trouble cutting through a band mix. I haven't had that problem, but my amp is always mic'd and we don't play super loud. The dirty channel is – from what I understand – more like an OD pedal overlaid on top of the clean channel. It sounds good and has its own lo/hi EQ and can go from a semi-clean boost to about as much gain as a tubescreamer or the like. Sounds very good, IMO, to the point that it would be possible to use this amp with no pedals for a gig. And it does take pedals well – I haven't run into anything that doesn't sound good. Overall this is an excellent lightweight amp that sounds great and is very giggable. I don't know that it's "better' or "worse" than "a tube amp" (as if tube amps are one generic thing). Love the clean channel – sparkly without ice pick highs. I don't care for the OD channel, it sounds too harsh for my style. I get the sound I want through an old GenX 2 from Digitech fed into the amp & out to 2 single 12" speakers. I'm blown away by how loud this little amp can get. It gives a full, thick throaty sound that is very articulate and gives singing highs when needed. The portability and sound delivery is amazing! I bought the open box model and couldn't be happier. I recently replaced a 5 watt Roland cube street with the more powerful cube street EX. I was disappointed that the EX did not come with Roland JC setting. The clean setting on the EX produced a sterile, cold sound that I warmed up nicely with the Behringer tube modeler. This was my only reason for purchasing this pedal. I have occasional use for a battery operated amp and this pedal allows me to get the warm tones that I require.Richard
Case is plastic to evidently help with cost. With the cost of musical equipment any help is great. I take very good care of equipment so I do not "stomp" on them. Pedal has quality sounds that seem to work within relm of eq'ing. This pedal has it's own drive built in although a bit sensitive. Take your time and you can dial in some quality tones and sounds. I play lots of various music ranging from southern, blues and Christian rock and have been able to fine something nice that works with each style or genre. Again the pedal controls seem a little sensitive so take your time when you start with the pedal. I enjoy expermiemting so this facet is a-ok by me. Over all good pedal.Bo L.
I've had the pedal a couple weeks now and I am more familiar with it. I may have written a previous review so this might be an update… I purchased this pedal for the few times I would have to play on others' amps that don't have any effects as I already have two very good modeling amps. It works great on the modeling amps with the clean channels selected. Recently I bought a Fender Blues Jr which has no effects. I am in a small space where you really can't crank up the volume. To cut to the chase, the TM300 can stand toe to toe with either of my modeling amps, either plugged into them or the Blues Jr. In the modeling amps it provides more clean voices than the amps do without a lot of fiddling. You can also use the distortion/overdrive features instead of the amps' native on-board features if you wish. It is very intuitive and if you take the time to play with it you can come up with some very interesting combinations. I have a Les Paul Custom and a Fender Strat. And though both have upgraded pickups I couldn't quite get the sounds I wanted. The LP was a little too jazz-like and muddy when played in distortion thru the amps. The Strat was just tinny and quacky. I was considering changing out the pickups in both a second time. The TM300 breathed new life into my LP. I can now dial in the sound I want without having the change the pickups. The Strat has a richer fuller sound when I want and the quack when I want. I got this one simply because it was cheap and I just wanted to play around. Venti cinco dolares? Are you kidding me??? The only drawbacks are: 1) It has a plastic housing. It's not heavy duty like a Boss. 2) If you use 9V batteries you have to take the stomper off the change them. A minor annoyance. 3) If you use batteries you have to be careful to unplug the unit after use or it will burn thru your battery in less than a day. Or you will have to buy a 9V adapter. BUT… If you don't want power cables and like to keep things neater, the battery option will help and will also make it more portable as you don't have to pack a power cable if you go anywhere with it. This is my 3rd Behringer pedal, and though not the best in the world I own 3 for 75 buckaroos… less than the price of one professional pedal. For an amateur they work fine and can help a newbie find out what they like and need in pedals without a lot of financial pain.

I needed an inexpensive practice amp for home use, so I bought this amp – big mistake! I wasn't expecting the sound of a more expensive amp, but this amp is nothing more than a noise machine. The sound is filled with static and noise to the point it is unusable. The static and noise push the little sound you get to the background. Maybe, I received a bad amp, but I'll never know since MF felt the issue lay with my personal sound quality preference and not the amp. Apparently, for MF the sound quality is good enough for an inexpensive amp, and the customer should be aware. Originally purchased a Rogue Rocketeer Electric Guitar Pack, which included this G10 Amplifier, for my Great Nephew for Christmas. However, the one which came with the Pack didn't sound right and quit completely after about 15 minutes. I notified Musician's Friend Customer Service about the problem and they immediately took care of it by sending a replacement. The replacement arrived and it worked fine, and sounded good for a 10 watt practice amplifier. Was very pleased with the sound and quality. It even has a little drive button which gives the amp a little bit of distortion if you like to play that sort of thing. I was getting a beater electric guitar for my new place and needed a small, inexpensive 10W amp. This was just about the cheapest thing on the market that met my criteria. So I am writing this review after using it for a week straight and my conclusion is this: great sound for your buck. I've been reading some of these negative reviews and it's unbelievable that these reviews leave you thinking that this device should sound and act like a $500 amp but in all reality it is not. It's a practice amp used for those situations where noise level is an issue. It has great tones and great effects. Yes it's very limited, but you're not locked in to any one tone. Roll of on the gain and you have some Texas blues tones. As for the effects, they are good. Not the best, but good. If you're looking to jam out and practice your chops just get it. Don't listen to those negative reviews.
Seems as well built as the other options I've seen. Better tonal range than Vox and better than having to buy 2 or three devices. First impressions were not that good but as I've used it a bit more I can see me getting more used to it. I probably expected to much and was basing my hopes on the FLY amps. I think the effects are too limited to be worthwhile and would prefer Blackstar to focus on better amp tone. Still, I'm happy with it and for the type of device this is I know of nothing that sounds better. If I lost it I would probably look at the latest options but as it stands this is still the one I would buy. I think all of this type of device are over priced when you consider what a small amp costs but for portable practice in a small space it can't be beaten. Amazing bit of kit for the price! Clean, over drive and distortion channels in a small box the amps to headphones perfectly! Can’t really comment on the effects as not really tried them out! But if you need a tiny portable amp that connects to your headphone for practice i would throughly recommend! Just noticed it even has aux in so I can listen to my Fender tutors without having to have 2 different sets of headphones on the go!!! This amp is fantastic. For someone that is so used to having different modellers, tube amps, multi fx and stompboxes this is now all I need. I've been meddling with allsorts kf gear for 17 years in my search for tone. I feel I am now at the end. Managed to dial in 4 very usable great sounding patches in minutes just using the front panel, something I've not been able to do with any amp or modeller in a while. It djents, it can do blues crunch, it can do straight rock grit, chimey clean, and just big standard chuggy metal very well. It's quite light, but when you turn up the volume you can feel air moving, like you can with a much bigger cab or with a valve amp. For a 1×12 it isn't boxy at all, very open sounding. The Waza speaker is very harsh in the top and highs to begin with when you first switch it on, but after a few hours use the speaker breaks in and the harsh highs all disappear. For someone that has always used Celestion V30's this Waza speaker is just amazing and I'm definitely leaving it as is! The dynamic response to picking and rolling your volume knob down is just how a valve amp responds – light picking = cleaner tones. Dig in with your pick and the amp comes alive. Fantastic all round amp, Boss really have nailed it with this one.
Just picked one of these and it's been a joy to play. Pretty easy to use with quite a few options. Was able to dial in some tones that sound like my $800-1k tube amps. Honestly this amp is the best bang for your buck amp available imo. I really love the Waza Craft Greenback speaker. I love the .5, 50,100 watt options. Haven't even explored the software yet but I'm confident enough in this amp to give it a 5 star already. This of course is keeping in mind the fact it's essentially a budget amp price. Sound: Right out of the box? I didn’t even adjust EQs. Set volume and gain, and started playing. Took 0 effort to get 98% of the way to my live tone that is an Orange Rockerverb 100W MK2 and Marshall 212 with V30s. Features: I love the Tone Studio. I did have to pull a star from Ease Of Use because it may be confusing if you’re not good with computers. Ease of Use: If you can’t get a good sound out of this amp, return it, sell your guitars, and find a new hobby. That’s how easy getting a good sound out of this is. Quality: Seems pretty decent. I wouldn’t call it robust, but it doesn’t FEEL as cheap as the price would suggest. Value: 100% worth the price. I’d have paid $100 more for it if I’d have known how good it would sound. Manufacturer Support: I’ve dealt with Roland/Boss in the past, and they’ve always been wonderful. The Wow Factor: Looks good, sounds good, price is good. A perfect practice amp, that could stand in for a small venue in a pinch. Naturally my live rig is a bit much for my apartment, but this is just what the doctor ordered. Overall: Solid state amps have come a long way. A REALLY long way. I’ll be honest, being a tube snob, I had very low expectations. I was really surprised at how good this amp sounds. Years ago I tried Line 6 and was not at all happy with the tone; but this is another story. It does take me awhile to dial in a specific classic rock tone, but when I do, it sounds better than any other amp that I've tried. I have tried the Marshall Code, Blackstar id Core, Vox Valvetronix, Boss Katana; as well as some all tube amps. The only other amp that is a close 2nd is the Fender Mustang GTX; also a great amp. The Spider V is fairly easy to operate. It offers lots of choices for amp models and cabinets. I like that it has variations of a mic'd cabinet. The parametric eq is a plus. I haven't played around too much with the effects yet, so I can't comment on that. The only negative thing I could say is that when you're editing a preset and want to hear how it sounds before you save it, you only have a short time before it goes back to the Home Screen. This really is a small price to pay for the quality of the amp and all the versatility it has. I like the App too. Musicians Friend got me a great on this as well; and their agent is following up making sure that I'm satisfied. The funny thing is that I came across this by accident. I placed an order for a Peavey amp that was on back order. I called Peavey multiple times, but they never returned my call. I also emailed them, but they didn't respond to that either. As far as I'm concerned, Peavey doesn't have any customer support.crrkr
Been playing about a year, so my review is from the perspective of a complete newbie. The things I like- Lots of presets, mobile app functions, computer interface, and loads of user created effects available. Nice and loud, but no real basis of comparison to say if clarity is better or worse than other comparable amps. Don't likes- The micro-usb interface. I had to get an adapter and it's just not as good a connection as nearly anything else would be. IMHO, micro-usb is far too flimsy. Connecting to PC is far more problematic than just using the spider mobile app. It's probably a little more complicated than it should be for a beginner, but it's feature rich for the money.Nic T
I had a Line 6 120w amp for years that I regrettably sold a while ago and was looking for another amp. I looked at all the amp reviews I could find and decided that the new Katana was the way to go. I got the Katana home and absolutely loved it but the second day I had it it started a really loud buzzing that I couldn't stop. It probably was an easy fix but the fact is the amp was way too powerful for my purposes and their software wasn't compatible with the new Catalina OS. I returned and started looking again. I saw the 60w Spider V and the price was excellent so I made an on the spot decision to buy another Line 6 and I'm really glad I did. The tones this amp can get are incredible. There are so many amp models and cabs that you can dial in pretty much any tone you want from a crispy snapback country clean to the most vicious heavy metal and everything in between. You can use the presets as they are or you can use them as a baseline and tweak to your own liking or you can start from scratch and build your own rig from the ground up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use but there are some features where you'd have to be a professional to really know how to use or even care to use. The software and the mobile app are so easy to use and give you all the options at your fingertips. The amp comes with a lot of presets that I find are completely useless but there are a lot that are excellent as I already talked about. There are only four empty slots for your own custom presets and I wish there were more but if you use the mobile app you can have your own tone library on there. I bought the FBV3 foot controller so that gives me a lot of flexibility to have various effects. One of the limitations is the lack of good effects though. There's enough that if you work at it you can get a decent sound but there could be some better ones. Overall I would recommend the amp. Don't listen to the naysayers or the amp snobs, it's a quality amp and extremely versatile.Just Plain Joe

I was really surprised at how good this amp sounds. Years ago I tried Line 6 and was not at all happy with the tone; but this is another story. It does take me awhile to dial in a specific classic rock tone, but when I do, it sounds better than any other amp that I've tried. I have tried the Marshall Code, Blackstar id Core, Vox Valvetronix, Boss Katana; as well as some all tube amps. The only other amp that is a close 2nd is the Fender Mustang GTX; also a great amp. The Spider V is fairly easy to operate. It offers lots of choices for amp models and cabinets. I like that it has variations of a mic'd cabinet. The parametric eq is a plus. I haven't played around too much with the effects yet, so I can't comment on that. The only negative thing I could say is that when you're editing a preset and want to hear how it sounds before you save it, you only have a short time before it goes back to the Home Screen. This really is a small price to pay for the quality of the amp and all the versatility it has. I like the App too. Musicians Friend got me a great on this as well; and their agent is following up making sure that I'm satisfied. The funny thing is that I came across this by accident. I placed an order for a Peavey amp that was on back order. I called Peavey multiple times, but they never returned my call. I also emailed them, but they didn't respond to that either. As far as I'm concerned, Peavey doesn't have any customer support.crrkr
Been playing about a year, so my review is from the perspective of a complete newbie. The things I like- Lots of presets, mobile app functions, computer interface, and loads of user created effects available. Nice and loud, but no real basis of comparison to say if clarity is better or worse than other comparable amps. Don't likes- The micro-usb interface. I had to get an adapter and it's just not as good a connection as nearly anything else would be. IMHO, micro-usb is far too flimsy. Connecting to PC is far more problematic than just using the spider mobile app. It's probably a little more complicated than it should be for a beginner, but it's feature rich for the money.Nic T
I had a Line 6 120w amp for years that I regrettably sold a while ago and was looking for another amp. I looked at all the amp reviews I could find and decided that the new Katana was the way to go. I got the Katana home and absolutely loved it but the second day I had it it started a really loud buzzing that I couldn't stop. It probably was an easy fix but the fact is the amp was way too powerful for my purposes and their software wasn't compatible with the new Catalina OS. I returned and started looking again. I saw the 60w Spider V and the price was excellent so I made an on the spot decision to buy another Line 6 and I'm really glad I did. The tones this amp can get are incredible. There are so many amp models and cabs that you can dial in pretty much any tone you want from a crispy snapback country clean to the most vicious heavy metal and everything in between. You can use the presets as they are or you can use them as a baseline and tweak to your own liking or you can start from scratch and build your own rig from the ground up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use but there are some features where you'd have to be a professional to really know how to use or even care to use. The software and the mobile app are so easy to use and give you all the options at your fingertips. The amp comes with a lot of presets that I find are completely useless but there are a lot that are excellent as I already talked about. There are only four empty slots for your own custom presets and I wish there were more but if you use the mobile app you can have your own tone library on there. I bought the FBV3 foot controller so that gives me a lot of flexibility to have various effects. One of the limitations is the lack of good effects though. There's enough that if you work at it you can get a decent sound but there could be some better ones. Overall I would recommend the amp. Don't listen to the naysayers or the amp snobs, it's a quality amp and extremely versatile.Just Plain Joe

It was a great deal, and so far has been a real ear opener onto sonic tapestries hitherto unexplored. The interface seems to be built like a tank (time will tell), was straightforward to set up and the neighbours enjoy the results so much they bang on the wall with enthusiastic glee. Tbh, their timing is a little off, I'm sure it'll improve with practice, but the brutal death metal screams emanating from the other side of the wall are perfect, if a little muffled.. \m/Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

I purchased the Loudbox Mini Charge to use in small settings as a solo fingerstyle acoustic guitarist. So far I've found very little I don't like about this amp. It has great volume and tone for its size … it really sounds wonderfully articulate despite the fact it simply can't match the headroom of larger, more powerful units. Then again, it's designed for small venues. The reverb and chorus settings are well-executed and pleasant sounding and the three band eq is responsive. Bluetooth is easy to pair and use making this a potential boon at deck and tailgate events. If I had to list negatives my first gripe would be that the channel two input is XLR only. It would have been nice to see a combination jack here for times when players want to use a second instrument input. However, a passive DI box will solve that issue. The other missing feature is an anti-feedback circuit. There is a phase switch but the lack of a true auto-notch on an amp in this price range seems strange. Finally, the on-board battery makes this unit heavier than it looks. It easily outweighs a Fender Acoustasonic 90 even though the Fender is physically twice its size. Those issues aside, the Loudbox Mini Charge is a great performing little amp with the bonus of being battery powered when needed. I'm definitely a fan.GS
So far I've just practiced with it at home and the sound is superb, especially the low end being very present and not muddy. Big bonus for me is I can easily carry it in one hand and guitar in the other so no need for multiple trips. Another reason I got it is for my outdoor gigs where access to electricity can be iffy. Overall: This amp sounds so good playing a Taylor acoustic through, the on board effects are smooth and polished and very balanced… The low end of this little amp is very impressive and HOLY $&@! this little box is freaking LOUD!!! It 100% lives up to its name, add the fact that you can charge it up and use it away from any power supply means you can play music anywhere and from my experience with using it for about 2 years now the charge still lasts about 6 hours at 50% master volume of playing before needing a charge again and that’s more than enough playing time for most people, now that playing time I’ll go down a bit if you crank it up to 85% volume but will still last about 3 hours. I give this amp a 9.5/10 only because the carry bag is a must have but is sold separately and it’s a little pricy for what it is, if your paying just over $500 for a very small mini carry amp to me the carry bag should be included in that price tag IMO speaking that you can buy a Randall half stack head and cabinet for about the same price.

This was a surprise. I was sure this would sound decent but I was pleasantly surprised at the control & versatility. With a Stratacoustic, very clean & crisp, nice body. I tried all the normal dang Shure's everyone uses but this was great with a Blue Encore 100. Decided to try my daughters Roland Aerophone, very good tone overall. This would work for a little gig or practice of course, but for recording it would work well & of course you can mic this in a larger club/venue. Overall a fun, quality & versatile little amp.
