I enjoy my new case. I did have to return the initial case as it was cracked towards the top. Luckily, I have a Guitar Center nearby and they made the return and re-order very easy. The case itself is very functional. It is very common for reviews to point out flaws and for me, the one flaw is that the case does not open very far. It barely goes beyond 45 degrees which makes me cautious when removing or replacing my Martin guitar. This has nothing to do with the service from Guitar Center obviously – manufacturing. Also, the inner compartment is not very deep. Not really an issue just when compared to other guitar cases.James
I have been putting guitars in and out of cases and in and out of cars for more than 50 years. These currentMartin tblack ones are, not near as solid as the old blue ones. Nor are they done well. Poor QC. Nothing lines up. After concentrating and , hopefully, get past the aluminum safety the top has to be forced to mate with the bottom. The aluminum extrusion is not unlike the wheels on Ben Hur's chariot. Not nice to risk my 3 wonderful Martins. For over 50 years I have habitually popped a latch to get a purchase on cases. You know just enough grip to shift the case in the back seat of a car or to move the handle in reach. Well surprise,while shifting the D12-28 off came the latch! Really!? Some room inside or a dedicated place for a hydrator would seem prudent. This seems to be one of those, if it could be made cheaper it would made cheaper deals. It is a shame to put a fine guitar in a third rate case.Wamp
I wanted to offer a "workaround" to one of the negative comments I read before purchasing the case. The user had a problem with the plastic cracking in the vicinity of the center clasp. I will say that I have noticed the fit on the case is quite tight at this location, especially because I have added a peg for fastening my guitar strap to the base of the neck. I have found a simple solution – just fasten the two adjacent clasps first. This distributes any stress on the plastic case and makes it easy to fasten the center clasp without risking damage to the case. I am grateful to the reviewer who pointed out this potential problem so I could address it before it manifested itself on my case.Lizarch5

This is a Very nice guitar case that was not very well QC'd from the factory. The problem was not caught at M.F's shipping department either. They simply receive boxed products and then label and ship to you. The alignment and molding of the case was not right, for that reason the latch in that area will not close without a lot of pressure on the case. The plastic or the back hinges are also not connected quite right. This makes one of only three latches not real functional. Not sure how SKB could not catch this. It is very visible. This case is for my son's school guitar lesson's. It is very difficult for him to be able to close this latch. It would cost me forty more to send and receive another case. Not worth the money, so we'll just have to live with this defect. In hind sight, I'd should have payed thirty more in town to buy this case. Did not think I could have a a issue to buy a case online. To date (July 2013), Martin does not make a hardcase for the Little Martin. While this case is often considered a Baby Taylor case, it fits the Little Martin like a glove. The case came in what appeared like a very light, black, burlap bag within a larger cardboard box. There were a number of scuff marks on the case itself. While that didn't bother me much (with used it's going to get more), I was concerned it was a used case. Interior inspections suggest it was new but no one can be 100% sure. As for the case, the hidden storage is rather small approx. 7in x 3in x 2in. It's great to keep your capo, picks, and other minor items, but if you like to store your strap in there, it's going to be a VERY tight fit. I have read that people didn't like how the case rattles when it's close, for lack of a proper fit, however I didn't notice this problem and it seems like my Little Martin is pretty secure in it (I shook it pretty hard for a minute to see if I can hear it move). Overall I'm happy with the case. It's likely you will be using this as a travel guitar if you bother getting a hardshell case. The last thing you need is announcing to the world it's either a Martin or a Taylor in there and gets it stolen.AsianGuy97
This is my third case of this model. My wife just recently purchased a LTD. Edition Baby Taylor Koa. So I wanted it to be safe and secure. The SKB 300 is awesome. The previous ones are for my Little Martin (LX1) and for wife's Luna Safari nylon. We always each take a travel guitar with us when we vacation. The SKB 300 is light and tough. In My experience the lid lines up perfectly as do the latches. When you can catch them on sale they are an amazing value and offer. It is true the inside compartment is small but be realistic, its a small case. A capo and tuner and extra strings fit fine. I actually am able to also put a strap in but it has to rolled tightly. I know it fits Little Martins fine and I know it fines Luna Safari nylon string fine. It will NOT however fit Luna Safari's that have steel strings.craftydolls

Outstandingly well made case. Very sturdy. You will not have to worry about your guitar when it's in this case. Lined with fur material; heavy duty latches, and chrome "feet" tips that keep the case off the floor when you sit it down. Made with plywood, so it is heavy and very durable. Looks good but cheaply made and flimsy. Top of case will not stay opened unless you use some force to slightly stretch the strap but you have to be careful not to over stress it or it may detach on one end. I bought this for my D-41 because it is has more room than the Martin 640 case that came with the guitar. It actually has room for strap, capo, tuner, spare strings, etc.. This particular aftermarket 545 case didn't have the same quality controls that the ones had that came with my Custom Shop D-28 and my D-45V; however, it is still a great case. This is the best case I have, and a few Martin owners I play with have commented about how much nicer it is than their standard Martin cases. Side-by-side, there's no comparison. The contrast stitching, burgangy interior, and Geib-style top are absolutely beautiful. The case is heavy, but I didn't list that as a cob because I expect that from a high-quality acoustic guitar case. I feel like a could lay this thing flat on the floor with my Martin inside, and stand on top of it without any fears that I might fall through–it's that sturdy. The hinges are very high quality, much heavier than those on more standard hard cases, and they always match up when closing the case, which always annoys me about cheaper cases. I humidify my guitar, and this case traps in the humidity from my humidifier very well, keeping the inside of the case around 45-50% easily. The fit on my Martin dreadnought is snug, just like you need it to be, and my Hohner HG-930 Arbor Series dread fits well, too. I would recommend this to dread players who want to protect their investment in style. Beautiful high-quality case that gets the job done.Kingery
I have known all along that this case is an upgrade from the thermoplastic case supplied with Martin standard series guitars. But I was too lazy/cheap to order it, seeing as the one that came with my D-28 was serving the purpose. Horror stories abound, from friends that have had their precious Martins scarred and bit, when the standard "bear-trap" case (you know the one, with a metal edge surrounding it top and bottom) decided to suddenly close on their guitar. Well, forewarned is forearmed, so I figured that this would never happen to me, because I am careful! Just the other day at a crowded music jam, I was putting my prized D-28 away, and in a heartbeat I now have a hideous deep scratch across my guitar. No amount of crying or polishing would make it go away. So when I got home, I ordered new premium cases for my Martins. Sure, my guitars are bound to get more unavoidable dings and marks from using and enjoying them, but they are much happier now in their new Geib-style cases. These cases are much more rugged than the thermoplastic ones, and no where near as slippery. The interior fit is snug, and they have better quality latches. They are heavier, and the interior storage compartment is slightly more compact. This is a top quality case, and a premium guitar deserves protection. You won't be sorry.Jimmyjuju

This is the second djr hardshell case I've purchased from Sam Ash. (I've the 2016 and 2019 iterations of the djr.) There aren't a lot of hard case choices for a Martin Dreadnought Junior; in fact, this might be the only true-fit hardshell case on the market for the djr, apart from the rather minimally-padded gig bag with which the guitar comes. (And it's probably still the most competitive price!!) The case itself is great in all regards. There's a tad new glue-rubber-wood-factory smell, but air it out for a few days and the smell goes away. There's sufficient storage space in the compartment, as well as under the headstock area, for your essential accessories. More importantly, it can pass for a carry-on item and fits in an airplane overhead bin. My only gripe is that the plush fibers can be a tad loose–kind of like a fuzzy sweater–and can come off from time to time. It's not extreme, nor does it affect the overall cushioning; but don't be surprised when you see loose, green fuzzies here and there. Still a great case, awesome protection, and travel-friendly.Doro

I bought this case for my vintage 1961 Goya G-10 Acoustic Classical guitar which I love so much. The case is build very well, especially for the price…I was very impressed. The latches are slightly on the loose side of things when latched…but they hold. As for the fit w/ my Goya G-10…..this case fits tight but I think it will take the shape of the guitar a little better as it settles and breaks in over time. The "inside measurements" in the description are very accurate. The coolest thing of all is I tried another old timer favorite acoustic guitar of mine inside this case and it FITS so well with just enough slack inside, IMO is a perfect fit for my departed Grandfathers old acoustic that I grew up noodling on…..a 1964 Silvertone "parlor" size acoustic guitar. So happy it fits in there that I am gonna order another case for the Silvertone and one more for my other Goya G-10. Highly recommend for the Silvertone old 60s parlor guitars for sure!!!!
The Gator GWE ¾ Economy Acoustic Guitar Case is a good fit for a RainSong 12-fret parlor (CH-PA). It took about an hour for the stuffing to compress where closing the case took no minimal extra effort (due to the depth of the RainSong). Here are the numbers in inches: Option: Total Length x Body Length x Lower Bout x Depth; Gator Interior: 38 x 19 x 13.74 x 4; Martin 12 fret 0: 37.75 x 19.125 x 13.5 x 4.0625; RainSong P12: 37.5 x 18.8 x 13.3 x 4.1; An interesting external dimension comparison (my measurements) GSmini Hard Bag: 39 x 16 x 6; Gator GWE ¾: 39.75 x 15.75 x 5.75; This case is not a top-of-the-line wood case and I don't think worthy of being used for checked luggage (maybe no wood case is). But it is as compact as it is going to get and a good option for that occasional gate checked carry-on. Since RainSong makes 12 and 14 fret Parlor guitars, their stock case is likely a couple of inches longer (and probably a more expensive AND HEAVIER case). It appears MF gets them bulk packaged, their shipping box was not that sturdy, and was very beaten up by UPS. There were dents in the case but not enough to bother returning (it is a testament to the case's construction that it was otherwise undamaged). The case pictured is not the case I received. It is a 000 case, just the newer version. You should change the visual image to match the actual product. Also, the strap that holds the lid open is too short. Lid does not open far enough. TKL is notorious for this problem. I love the case, just not this inherent flaw. Your rep was very nice though. The case looks good on the outside, but a 000 Martin guitar does not fit well on the inside. The body space is too shallow. The bottom also has very firm bumps that jut out making it impossible to seat. Even when you push hard to seat the guitar in the case, the lid does not easily close and could do hard to the guitar. Real shame, because the outside of the case is better than generic Martin cases that come with 15 and 17 series guitars. Avoid.Chris
This case is perfect. It is worth every penny. Very Sturdy. I Bought my daughter the Martin X Series Custom X-000CE Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar for Christmas. I got such a good deal on it I figured I would buy her a case too. I am really glad I did. This case fits like a glove. If you want to protect your investment this is the case for you. Don't bother with saving a little money buying a generic guitar case. If you bought a Martin 000 series, this case was made for your guitar. It won't shift or get damaged in any way. I read several reviews before purchasing, so I wasn't expecting perfection. I like the unique tweed-like look, and the fact that it matches my blonde Alvarez guitar. The case is kind of a ten-footer, though. It looks classy standing in the corner, but close inspection reveals that the lid doesn't line up perfectly, the storage compartment door "hinge" is just the fuzzy clothing lining, and the faux tweed cover has bubbles and a line or two where it was hastily slapped onto the adhesive coat beneath. The inner and outer cover stitching misses a spot here and there, but not enough to worry about. Again, not unreasonable at the price point. The only thing I'm really slightly disappointed with is that it doesn't fit my new Alvarez Jumbo guitar like a glove – more like a generic case with gaps and wriggle room here and there. Heck, I bought a Chromacast for my Alvarez dread and it fit like they were made for each other. I'm not sure why several people complain about a smell. Those folks would probably be offended by new-car-smell too.Rob
While this case will technically fit an AF80CE-12, it will also fit any banjo, ukulele, or violin. This Alvarez jumbo 12-string moves around excessively inside of this JC1 case (J for jumbo). There is probably about 1/2 inch of open space around the guitar side when it is flush up against the other side, but that is not the big issue. There is about an inch of lateral movement (headstock to bottom strap button) within the case. At one extreme, the headstock is touching the end of the case and will bear the brunt of any fall. I bought this to hold my new practice guitar. It is just what I wanted and thought I was getting. It looks good because I like the tweek-like look and the sculpted, arched look as opposed to a flat, thin cardboard look. I has decent clasps that close with only a little pushing to get them aligned. The lining is decent and doesn't have any strong smells. It has all the features I like, like four clasps as opposed to three or five, Feet bumpers on the back and the side to protect the fabric. A good size storage bin and best of all, extra room at the headstock so I can leave my Snark tuner on the headstock when I case my guitar. Awesome. The case is not constructed with precision. The alignment is decent, but not precise. The liner fits the case, but is high on some areas and slightly low on others. Fortunately there are no gaps or unglued spots, so for an economy case I am pleased. Another perk for me, is the Alvarez badge on the outside that matches the guitar. I am pleased.Whitehouse Willie

After purchasing the Schecter C Model guitar, I decided a beautiful guitar deserved a beautiful case. Storing my brand new guitar in a used case, it didn't seem right, so I ponied up for the right case that was meant to store such a a masterpiece of an instrument. Ok, so there is only so "fancy" a guitar case can be, right? Wrong. This case is a work of art. First off, it's kind of heavy-which I like. If you plan on carrying it for long distances, you may want to look elsewhere. Secondly, the interior fits my guitar very nicely. There is maybe 1/4" of space around the body of my CR-6,so it isn't snug, but once you latch it down, I can't feel any movement. Thirdly, the blue interior looks awesome. It's velvety, not furry like most cases. Fourthly, the latches look like any other guitar case latches, but they are painted black… they seem like they are coated with something. THEY DON'T MAKE THAT ANNOYING CLACKING NOISE! They open and close very smoothly. Finally, when the guitar is in the case, and you pick up the handle, it balances perfectly. Of course this will differ slightly depending on the guitar, but in my case it works very nicely.etaeniura
Very good buy that was suggested when I bought my Schecter Reaper-7. The guitar fits perfectly in there and doesn't move around at all. The only things I didn't realize when I bought it was that the cutouts for other gear inside the case weren't covered, so if it's not packed in well, there's a chance for it to move around inside. The latches and lock feel a little cheap, but still a good deal for the price. If you're worried about somebody getting into your case or if you want a better luck for say going through a baggage claim, I would look for something a little more expensive with better locks. I don't really have to worry about that, so it's perfect for me. If you want a case mainly for storage, like me, you'll be pleased with this product.Zack G
