Quality product, US madedoverqaa
Beautiful hammer and dolly set. There was a time where metal fabricating apprentices would buy a set like this to set themselves up for their careers, whether it be a set by Martin, Snap-On, Proto, etc. These are the types of hammers and dollies that get passed-down from father to son (assuming the father can actually let go of them). It's a little sad that nowadays these sets are often looked at as outrageously overpriced, but they're priced just right. If metalworking and shaping is your passion, if it's what you want to do with your life, both at the shop and outside of it, this set is perfect for you. You will never need another set of hammers (except maybe a Martin crown point, which disappointingly ISN'T included in this set but can be purchased for like $45-55 also on Home Essentials Direct, and I consider it a must-have for a custom sheet metal worker). You will become accustomed to the weight and centers of gravity for these hammers, and using them will eventually become second-nature. Same with the dollies; matching panel crowns and contours will become second-nature. Hearing the different sounds, from hammer on dolly and hammer off dolly, and everything in between, will become second-nature. That's what buying a set like this can do for you. Buying a cheap set, made with cheaper wood and steel, can't offer that kind of guaranteed consistency and reliability for a full-time panel beater and fabricator. The one thing that I dont like about this kit is the case, but that was a given before I bought it. The hammers barely fit in it, and I mean BARELY. Luckily these are all going in the tool chest. And who the f*** buys a kit like this and cares what the case is like anyways?S.

Used these bridge pins to enhance the look and tone of my Martin D121. Wasn't sure that they would make a difference but needed to replace my plastic pins and decided to try these. Not only did they look terrific (my guitar looks great but these pins add to the overall look of the instrument) but I could actually hear a difference in the tone. They added an across the spectrum warmth to the already brilliant full tone of this guitar! I would think that they would have a subtle positive affect on almost any guitar they were placed in. Absolutely worth the extra money for the ebony pins with the pearl inlay!storyman53
Martin makes beautiful everything and these are no exception. First off, you get 7 bridge pins. They're a bit oversized, which I think is great! I sanded mine down to fit flush at the bottom ring. They all press in with a firm ending. The tone is also a bit more warm and woody sounding. I highly recommend these over the plastic pins. I can't believe that Martin doesn't include the. On their higher end models. Just my opinion. Hope this helps someone whose on the fence about getting them.Wayne

I recent;y purchased these along with a couple other acoustic guitar accessories and I'll be honest, it's the first time I've ever actually ordered anything from musicians friend……and I am quite satisfied with my small purchase, delivery was fast, and the price was right. These bridge pins don't really affect the sound of the guitar at all, positive or negative, being they are only celluloid, but they are very stylish and I would recommend them to anyone who already owns a good sounding acoustic that wants to pimp it out a lil bit. Ya gotta enjoy the little things, ya know? Overall, good for 7 bucks, and REALLY stylish
I bought a used guitar and someone decided to remove the stock white bridge pins and replace them with black ones, that didn't fit. I ordered these white with abalone pins and it changed the look of my herringbone dreadnought completely. Sometimes pins can change the sound, but luckily these kept the guitar sounding the same. Perfect. I would recommend these to anyone. They look fantastic.Mike D.

Reviews:
My experiece with acoustic guitar making was none. The Martin Kit I bought in 1984 gave all the fine parts as advertised. Study all available information on guitar building and use procedures you believe are best. I built my D-28 Sitka top with Rosewood sides and back using very few specialty tools and made do quite well. The result in sound prompted me to sell my factory built Martin and keep my home made instrument. The secrets are, read all you can about construction then go with confidence. You will be amazed at the simple things you can do to make your instrument fit the sound you desire. All the study you do will be more than rewarded when you have accomplished your goal. Do not hurry ! The kit I bought has given me twenty five years of musical pleasure.Grandpa Don
Never built a guitar before and this was great. It wasn't easy but there are many MANAGABLE steps. Some on here claim to be experienced luthiers and then complain about this kit…. Well guess what? It's a kit!!! Don't waste your money if you've built from scratch. You don't have as much flexibility with a kit as you would building scratch. Others complain its too hard. Well as a guy with no wood working experience, it's really not that hard. Can you finish this in a weekend, you ask? NO! This could take a couple months, especially if you're like me and want everything to be perfect, plus no woodworking experience. If you would like to get into wood working and guitar building, do this! Well worth the money! Just take your time and you'll have semi-custom built guitar. Ps. I made lots of mistakes!Dl
Good to exellent value – not for those who give up easily. THere used to be many more choices from the Martin Factory. My first build was a custom 000-18 with a big 1 7/8" nut 14 fret neck (dovetail joint) and I was able to carve the neck to fit my own hand. THis was back in 1995. The Sitka top was unbelievably nice – I haven't seen wood like that since. I was able to carve the braces etc as well. Still my favorite 000 size guitar. I was able to buy heringbone purfling for it as well. Nowadays Martin does just a few standard models. I have also done a D-18 (with the bolt-on style neck) which had an interesting bearclaw i the top wood. That one sounds great (1998 and my daughter still plays it. The neck came pre-carved which was a bit of a disappointment to me. Later did a DMX model when they were still selling laminate back and sides kits. Gave that to my dad and got it back last year after he passed. A bit of tweaking ( he never played) and that one sounds and plays great – and is played by my stepson. I began assembling these things with no experience at all. Read a lot, measured twice before I cut, made a few mistakes and learned from them and always ended up with great sounding and playing guitars. This would be a great way to begin a hobby and a way to build skills if you want to build more than one, but not really the easiest way to get a decent sounding guitar. Decent guitars are o inexpensive these days that the kit would not be a way to save money on a guitar but a way to begin a hobby that can get you a lot of really good guitars in the long run. Not their best wood anymore – at least not cosmetically – but good enough to make the guita sound great. Why would they let someone just ruin a great piece of wood anyway? Any experienced builder could figure out how to get to quality wood once they know what they are doing. The wood is good enough, though. A bit pricey if you are learning and aren't all that patient, but not as pricey as what you'd pay for something from the Stew-Mac catalogueDr Dave-Lfuef

13. Martin D-45 Custom Guitar (1987)
Product Details:
Martin d-45 custom guitar (1987) everyone loves a guitar with a great story behind it! we originally obtained this guitar from the original owner. this gentleman and his business partner, back in the day, supplied spruce tops to the c.f.martin guitar company. they kiln dried, cut to spec, and graded sitka spruce tops to supply martin guitars in the 1980s and 1990s. this guitar and another for his partner were custom ordered & crafted in exchange for 216 sitka spruce tops. because of their relationship with martin guitars, there was some networking on the wood selection, because the materials used are absolutely top grade. the brazilian rosewood is the sought after, straight grain, quarter-sawn type. the very best for optimum tone. rivals the quality of wood in pre-war martins. the spruce top is the most beautiful sitka spruce top we have ever seen. it was called "gold flake" sitka. custom made brazilian rosewood d-45 for business clients in the guitar tops industry, not a d-45 series line. ebony fretboard with highly figured abalone inlays a few years back, this guitar underwent a certified martin luthier full inspection and upgrade. on 9/25/19 it received new bone nut, bone saddle, and bone abalone pins. work performed by rick reiss of advanced guitar. the mahogany neck is in excellent factory condition. all bindings, fret board, frets, scalloped bracing are in perfect condition from original martin factory construction in 1987. the finish is beautiful. the abalone logo inlay on the headstock just pops gold martin branded tuning machines "45" style adornments with abalone rosette, top trim, back trim, side trim and fretboard perimeter abalone heel graft purfling abalone end graft purfling "45" style back strip all original parts with guitar martin original style 640 black hard case included. also included is a newer calton flight case that a guitar of this merit deserves the tone is impressive! warm and symphonic, and we dare say this guitar has not yet "opened up." one more thing: the original owner's son who was also in the business decided to count the ring growths in the sitka spruce top. from the center of the saddle out to the widest edge he counted (conservatively) 275 years of growth. sn: 471753 options condition: used, near mint frets to body: 14 scale length: 25.4" nut width: 1 11/16" saddle string spacing: 2 1/8" audio videos

15. Martin Omc-1e Made In
Product Details:
Martin omc-1e made in 2009 about the martin 1 series was introduced in 1992 to encourage more fans to use the martin guitar. the bracing structure and neck joint method have been reviewed, and this series has gained popularity as a series where you can enjoy martin guitars more reasonably. this time, the rare cutaway body omc-1e is in stock. it is an electric-acoustic guitar with a preamplifier whose specifications have been changed to an all-solid body from 2009! solid sitka spruce top, solid sapele side back, stratabond neck, malado fingerboard bridge, scallop bracing, measured 44.5mm nut, 25.4inch scale orchestra cutaway body. the raw sound is a straightforward and clear sound that raises the sound clearly! due to the influence of the sapele side back and the bolt-joined neck, it has a cleaner impression than the 18-style sound of the past. i don't really feel the soft and plump elasticity of the martin guitars of yesteryear, but i think this is a sound with a different appeal. the hardness of the sound un
