This item was returned in great condition. it looks and plays like new, with only minor signs of use (slight scuffs, etc.). in the early 1970s, martin guitar was commissioned to design an all-black lacquered d-35 for country star johnny cash. though martin had never considered such a request before, an all-black d-35 for the “man in black” was custom-made. cash went on to play his custom d-35 on stage for the next 20 years. in 2006, martin released a commemorative d-35 johnny cash edition. the 2019 dx johnny cash is a nod to the history between cash and martin guitar. designed in collaboration with john carter cash and the cash foundation management team, the guitar features a classic dreadnought body shape constructed with jett black high-pressure laminate (hpl) top, back and sides. like the earlier commemorative edition, this instrument includes a custom fingerboard inlaid with stars and the “cash” logo. johnny cash’s signature appears on the rosette and label.

The dreadnought junior is designed for players looking for big dreadnought sound in a slightly smaller body. the newly updated djr features satin finished sapele back and sides in a rich cherry hue, satin finished sitka spruce top, and a hand-rubbed neck with a high-performance taper. this model also sports a thinner 000 body depth with softer back edges to provide maximum comfort while playing. every junior includes a soft gig bag for easy transport. this model is an updated version of the discontinued d jr.

This was limited to a series of 250 worldwide and completely sold out within a few days of pre-orders becoming available earlier this year. each guitar has a label attached to the bracing right beneath the sound hole. the label is hand numbered and personally signed by david gilmour. it has only been removed from the case to take pictures. it has been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment between 72 and 77 degrees fahrenheit with humidity level between 45 and 55% as noted in martin's care and feeding guide.

Selling my recording & gig ready '01 martin d-35.i acquired this in 2011 from the original owner who, literally, purchased it and never played it. the satin finish was still on the back of the neck – which wore smooth naturally after a week of playing – so, it was a 'closet classic' for a decade, and i was able to break it in as if it was brand new.the k&k pure pickup system was installed, and it truely is fantastic. research it – it is not the ticky-tacky 'plugged in acoustic' sound, at all. it has both the contact pickups and the microphone installed. the pickups are amazingly plug and go for live shows and recording. no crazy eq is needed for a hifi yet mellow and woody tone. i would frequently play this into an electric amp.it was re-setup professionally by the austin greats at south austin music, and is in full record ready shape.a small ding is in the top of the headstock, and slight wear all around in various spots exists – yet, it is in fantastic shape and simply used in stu…

Martin 2018 d-35 dreadnought acoustic guitar, sitka spruce top aged toner w/casethe workingman's dreadnought. i bought this guitar new around 1991-1992ish. its loud and proud. it is in fantastic shape for as old as she is but must point out that the clear finish did start to crack on the headstock. martin told me i could send it back and they would fix it for free but i just couldn't part with it that long.
