This is one of the best books on building electric guitars. Can't wait for the third edition that hopefully will come out next year (2019).solfarm
I feel that this book is a great place to start if you want to make your own electric guitar, it gives you all the pitfalls and points you in the right direction. I would say that making your own guitar is better, because you get what you want and how you want it to sound, far better than any you can buy off the shelf, if you are willing to put the time in, you will be rewarded with a great guitar. If anyone is thinking of building there own guitar, this is the book for them.davidw1734
It good, but has some pen writing in it that can’t be erased. But that doesn’t interfere with the main parts of it that interest me. And there’re no pages missing either.Mr M. L. A.
3. How To Build Electric Guitars: The Complete Guide To Building And Setting Up Your Own Custom Guitar [Book]
Product Details:
In the past few years the market for electric guitar kits and parts has exploded. for every two enthusiasts, there are four opinions on how properly to fill woodgrain. in this book, will kelly cuts through all that noise and shows how, with a little patience and some inexpensive tools, the average person can turn a modest investment into a gig-worthy instrument and perhaps even a lifelong hobby. kelly presents guitar-building in a progressive fashion, beginning with a simple stratocaster-style kit with a bolt-on neck and continuing on to a "relic'd" telecaster-style build, two gibson-style set-neck models, and a custom double-neck mash-up. because each build is more involved than the previous, the reader builds on his or her skill set and acquires only the tools necessary for the reader's level of interest. kelly shows how to apply finishes, choose and install hardware, wire electronics, execute the final assembly, and set up the finished guitar for proper action and intonation.

Kit looks great but : the veneer is very very thin – there were parts missing so if you get the kit – its not a bad kit for the money- but ck for all parts & ck the veneer on the bottom front for lifting of veneer.Charles Freeman
Best kit of the 4 guitars I've built. Everything fit nice and tight. All the components fit well and are of quality. The pickups are hot. Everything plugs together, no soldering. This guitar has a bolt on neck. Gibsons factory guitars are glued in place. The bolt on fit nice and tight and was well finished. The instructions are clear. Best kit. Fun.David Guzman

Product Details:
This book tells you everything about making electric guitars following professional standards, phase-by-phase, step-by-step. it's all about leaving your dent in the universe in the shape of the most beautiful, incredibly sounding guitar you can make-that's clear. but building guitars professionally starts before you even cut the wood: you need to setup your workplace, you have to define your identity as guitar maker, and decide the guiding principles of your endeavor as luthier. what kind of guitars will you build? for whom? what is going to be the winning characteristic of your instruments? and then you have to sell the things, of course, so the last part is focused in the marketing process. you will read about positioning your brand, pricing your instruments, photographing them, promoting them, building a great website for your lutherie business, using social networking to show your work to the world, and managing and closing guitar sales. written by renowned luthier leo lospennato (author of the bestseller "electric guitar and bass design") this book represents the new standard in solid-body guitar making, and the only resource that presents both the technical and commercial aspects of the fascinating art of building musical instruments.

Reviews:
Ordered & built this kit a couple of months ago and the guitar has really stood up so far. The wood on the body & neck came very smooth, bar one defect, and prepped for spraying however I took it down with some super high grit paper and finished the guitar in Tung Oil. The pre-loaded scratchplate is really handy for beginner DIY builders as there is no soldering involved (Grounding wire can be wrapped around the trem piece instead of soldering without issue) and the neck fits just right into the body. I assume the wood has been fumigated at some point and it is imbued with a fairly strong smell resembling smoked cheese and cured meat which I still haven't been able to get rid of, lol. There was only one issue with the kit which was a rather large gauge in the side of the neck that I needed to sand out and fill. This probably should've been picked up by QC however I was so eager to get on with the kit I didn't bother returning. I'm sure Artist would've been happy to replace them as their service is top-notch. Overall, an awesome kit at the price point which plays as well as other guitars I have that cost 5-10x the price!Kris
Love my purchase, I was so excited when it arrived. I purchased the guitar kit and it was everything as I expected well spent money, and would recommend anyone whose unsure whether to buy this or not, to do it. You won't be disappointed. Very happy buyer look forward to playing 5his.Tina MCMahon
11. How To Build Your Own Guitar [Book]
Product Details:
This book was written to show that there is an easier way to make a guitar. i have many books on building instruments but they were written by musicians, not wood workers. the glue of today is far superior to the horse hide glue of yesteryears. i use two brass screws to secure the neck to the body. for me building a guitar is a fun project. when i am finished they look so nice and sound even nicer. because of this, i decided to write a book on how to build a guitar and use many pictures to show better details. our local maple makes good back and side wood. a logger friend brought me some quilted maple and asked me to make him a guitar. the finished guitar was outstanding. it is a fun project to go searching for wood to build an instrument, although one needs a bit of patience and happy attitude.

Reviews:
Arrived quick, havent built yet but parts look to all be in orderRio M.
I'll begin by saying this kit is NOT for a novice. I will admit the body was prepped nicely, but the neck was twisted, not bent to where a truss rod adjustment would be all it would take to fix it. I needed to shave the heel and level the frets in a helix fashion (it was much more complicated than that). You have to be careful with the bridge. There is not much to hold it to the body and barely stays once the strings are on. Do not hit the back of the bridge while playing, even by accident as I did, because the bridge will fly out and be left hanging by the strings. Maybe my bridge was faulty. I bought a new Floyd Rose to fix it. I contacted the seller about this and all they said was the strings hold the bridge in place. When I mentioned the neck issue, I received zero response. What else can I say? You get what you pay for.\nThomas
Ordered in April. It’s July. Only one response from this vendor. Multiple attempts to contact. I’m done.calibrated
