I bought this guitar so that I would have one at our cabin in Colorado (the mountains are so much better with a guitar) and I could avoid the ""how did my guitar make the flight"" worries. I figured that at the price I couldn't lose no matter what. What I didn't figure on was the great tone and feel of this instrument. If you are looking for a first guitar or one to leave somewhere so that you have it in hand for occasional use then this is your best deal. A number of other reviewers have said that the strings would not stay in tune, and for the first short while I thought they were right then I saw that the only problem was a bit of slack in the tailpiece end of the strings. Once I got that straightened out all was great! Bear in mind that this is an inexpensive guitar so it will likely have some minor cosmetic issues, but it plays like a dream. If you are looking for a guitar to see if you or someone else is really interested in playing or you want a guitar to leave somewhere to play occasionally then this is a great guitar!Michael
This guitar is AWESOME. Very little room for improvement, the details were slightly different than the pictures, but in my opinion better than advertised. Those commenting about tuning not holding, are probably not familiar with nylon strings. I play exclusively with nylon strings (which is what came pre strung on this guitar) and the first few days to a week, it WILL fall out of tune QUICKLY. That is the nature of nylon, no way around it, but they are much easier on your fingertips and have a softer tone than steel strings, so I guess it depends on your style. I am a music teacher in a public school. Our school owned 11 of these Lyon guitars. My best instrument is guitar and I have a degree in guitar. Besides teaching in schools, I've privately taught lessons for 20 years on guitar and have played professionally. I say all this information to quantify this statement: these are the absolute worst put together instruments I have ever seen. The quality of the wood is awful, and the glueing on these instruments pathetic. In the span of a few years all 11 instruments were rendered unplayable. Not worth a dime of your money, ever.Tom

Hands down, Washburn gives the best bang for the buck in guitars. I hobby in repairing/building guitars and was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. You could pay a couple hundred dollars more and get something not as good. I have bought other Washburns and continue to be impressed with their products. One was a Washburn steel string Mahogany acoustic. I set it up with a new, bone nut and saddle. The $150 guitar now plays like a $1500 one. I gave it as a gift to my brother and still marvel when I pick it up. Anyway This C5CE clssical is another great product.aleface781
The guitar came promptly within a few days. I haven't found any flaws in this guitar. Action is nice and low with no fret buzz. Came with a nice long cord and truss rod tool. I registered the warranty which i have never had any problems with Wasburn customer service. The electronics amplify all strings evenly. The built in tuner works spot on. So I was looking to get the Ibanez GA35TCE or This Washburn classical guitar. Acoustically both guitars are nice except that the Ibanez was a bit flat from G-E nylon strings. It also had a buzz in the bridge that I did not like however the electrics of the Ibanez were flawless, clean and no hum or hiss. Now the Wshburn, the guitar is a beautiful guitar, nice finish and well made. Acoustically the tone is clearer and more balanced throughout all 6 strings compared to the Ibanez. The ibanez probaby could do with better quality strings to fix the flat sound issue. The Washburn has very good sustain and resonance such that at times other strings start resonating and dirtying the sound – especially when playing solo sections. This may be fixed with a new set of higher end strings which I will chnage after I use the ones that came with it or changing the bridge and nut to graphtech. Maybe I'll switch in the future. The electrics are ok. The electric pickup reporoduced the guitar sound pretty well except that there is a lot of Hiss with the BBand system. The pickup has treble, mid and bass EQ plus a presence knob where you can mold the tone as youplease. It also has a built in tuner that work well. So I sent back the Ibanez and kept the Washburn. The tonal character was much better. If the ibanez goes as a SDOTD sale dirt cheap I will pick it up just because of the cleaner pickup system.Afee

The guitar kit arrived in perfect condition by FedEx and went together fine. My wife, the gift recipient, loves it. The guitar, being new, is taking a little while to stabilize on tuning but it's working out okay. The red color is nice. My wife's only complaint is that the little amplifier doesn't have "fuzz" settings, but I told her they will come when she learns how to play. Very surprised at the value and sound of the Pyle Pro Package. The guitar looks great with woodgrain coming through the sunburst finish. Frets are finished nicely and the fretboard feels great. I am most impressed with the amp as I have 2 others the same size (more popular names) and this one sounds the best by far. Only issue I had was a slight adjustment of the string supports (for smaller strings on Strat style head). They were slightly misaligned but it took only seconds to fix. The strap isnt great (prefer leather ends), but used rubber strap blocks as a precaution. Overall, very happy and cannot believe the value offered for slightly over 100 bucks!Steve

This guitar is absolutely Beautiful! It sounds better and plays better than a Gibson WM45 I used to have. The electronics work as they should and it is really nice to have an onboard tuner. This guitar sounds good as acoustic or plugged into an amp. I have had more acoustic guitars than I can count and the only one I would rate better is a Martin! The only slightly negative is the strings are a bit high up the neck but I have fixed that with others. I will shave some off the bottom of the bridge saddle and that will take care of it.Bob

I got one a few years ago and liked it a lot so I got another one a few weeks ago. There are some differences from the older ones. The new body is top-loader only, which would be fine if it wasn't for the bridge with sharp edges of the string holes, which then breaks strings like crazy (even broke the B and I don't remember breaking B like… ever). I will file those edges down on the next string change so it's an easy fix/adjustment. Also, the new body is tiny bit thinner (1.65 in. vs 1.75 in.; not a big difference) and has sharper edges to it which I like more as it looks the part more (the old one had rounded off edges which is a bit more comfortable but looks less like what a Tele should). The pickups are about the same, i.e., not the best so I replaced them. Finish on the body has some hazing but it's in the cutout so not as visible and I don't really care; it looks fine. The neck, however, was the biggest surprise – it has rolled edges and all fret edges are smooth – that's something you only get with $1K+ guitars. I don't know if I was just lucky or they are all like that but I love it! I did not have to do a thing to the neck – it was great out of the box. Fretboard radius is 16" and the grain on my copy looks great too. The frets themselves look a bit bigger/taller/better than on my old one. The back of the neck is unfinished but smooth and I prefer that over the finished necks. Tuners are the standard bottom-of-the-bin stuff but they work and I have no intention of replacing them soon. The string tree for G and D is unnecessary so I am bypassing it at the moment and will probably delete it. The headstock logo is a bit "loud" (I like the old one better) so I may have to do something about it. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a budget-friendly Telecaster style guitar and does not mind doing a few things to it to make it a great playing instrument.Igor
Excellent shipping time. I ordered the guitar on a Friday morning and received it the next day. But it helps that I am in the same state that is ships from. As with the previous guitars I have purchased from Monoprice, it is a great value for the price, especially considering it was on sale and I also got an additional promotional discount on top of the sale price. It pushed me over the edge in deciding to make the purchase. I have several guitars and have trouble justifying additional ones to my wife. This black & white Retro Classic (very similar to a Telecaster body design) will be for modifying (pickups, tuners, etc.). Out of the box there was some fret sprout, but letting the guitar sit with my other guitars for a week and will play it to get some tonal samples before doing the make over. The Retro Classic is a nice, solid guitar to start out with or add to your current arsenal, but may need some clean up (i.e. addressing fret sprout, set up, cleaning frets). Still recommend it. I have a Stratocaster that I have been learning chords and following the lessons in a book that is instruction for learning scale. I bought this guitar to take with me on a medical missions trip to El Salvador. Right out of the box, it had a surprisingly wonderful bright tone and acoustically projected with a lot of volume. The action was a bit high, so I used the included hex key to lower the strings a bit to make playing it a bit easier. It frets true. The built in tuner is very accurate and easy to use. The strings it came with sound and play great so I don't plan to replace them any time soon. I love the finish, see no flaws, and the neck is smooth and just feels as good as my more expensive guitars. No problems with the frets. I only wish it came with a pick guard, but shouldn't be a problem since I fingerpick most of the time. I haven't hooked it up to my amp yet, but probably won't since I'm planning on gifting it to the mission house where we stay for other groups to use. I hope they enjoy it as much as I have! I was a little skeptical when I ordered this guitar because of the price. When I opened it I was amazed at the quality look and feel of it! It's a beautiful looking guitar and it sounds really good. The built-in tuner works well and the pickups inside the guitar sound great to me. I have to complaints about the natural or amplified sound quality. So far the one I received has been holding it's tune fairly well for a new guitar. I expected to have to re-tune much more frequently. It honestly feels like I'm playing a much more expensive guitar. Keep in mind that it doesn't come with a second strap button or a pickguard. If you require those they can easily be added. Personally I didn't mind as I don't really "jam out" hard enough to risk scratching the guitar and I play sitting down all the time so I don't need a strap. If you are looking for something cheap to practice with this guitar is perfect. I would even feel comfortable performing with this guitar (all though those years are behind me).The Casual Jammer
2nd Guitar, first one had damage on it. Paint unfinished at sound Hole The Guitar is not set up to play out of The box, also not Humidified, Had to do lots Of nut, saddle and Truss rod work before My fingers could play it. Interior looks Good. Digital Tuner And strap buttons are nice. For the price It's a lot of work to get it to be set up. I Finally got it working but it's just another Vastly produced Guitar with no quality Control. You will need to go inside the Guitar to pop up the pegs. They will Not just come out easy. The tone was Ok and the electronics work ok after Tons of work. I also had to Oil the neck And bridge along with Humidiying it. It sounds ok now. The neck is a little Wide at the top and string spacing is Slightly off but it's playable now. Could Use some oversight before there factory Shipped out. A plek set up would of Saved me hours of work. If you don't Mind setting it up yourself then it's ok Just beware that it will take some time To get it to perform correctly.. I Bought It for a Gift. Ich bin echt sprachlos. Nachdem ich mich knapp zwanzig Stunden in das Thema Ibanez und die verschiedenen Serien reingefuchst habe, schwankte ich lange zwischen einer höheren RG Variante und einer Prestige Variante… dann stieß ich auf diese Signature Premium Version von Luke Hoskins. Was soll ich sagen. Habe sie ausgepackt und mich direkt in sie verliebt. Das Finish sucht seinesgleichen, generell ist die Gitarre sehr sauber und makellos verarbeitet. Ferner ist sie unglaublich präzise in der Klangwiedergabe, was den Spieler einerseits in Minuten akkurater und besser spielen lässt, als dadurch auch sehr viel Möglichkeiten für viele schnelle Noten, die dann alle klar und sauber in den Output gehen, bietet. Ich hab noch nie so wenig bereut, Geld für ein Instrument ausgegeben zu haben. Zu meinem Glück war die Gitarre auch noch im Rabatt mit knapp 300 Euro Ersparnis. Abschließendes Fazit: Jeder, der sich überlegt tiefer in die Tasche zu greifen, um auf die Prestige Modelle zu gehen, sollte sich vorher mal bei den Signature Premium Modellen von Ibanez umsehen, die Produktion steht der aus Japan in nichts nach! Ich kann dieses Modell jedem empfehlen und würde mein neues Baby am liebsten abends mit ins Bett nehmen. 5/5
1.Optik: Die Gitarre ist optisch sehr schön. Der “Green Gradient” gibt diese Gitarre in zusammenhang mit den Goldene Hardware ein richtig schönen Finish. Es wird nie langweilig die Gitarre anzuschauen, was eigentlich auch nicht unwichtig ist, wann man seinem Instrument doch täglich einige Stunde in die Hände hat 2. Bespielbarkeit: Bei Ibanez muss mann wirklich aufpassen ob der Hals für dein eigenen spielstiel geignet ist. Hier hätte ich bereits etwas entäuschende Erfahrungen sammeln können. Bei diese Gitarre kann ich auf den Hals nichts anmerken. Er ist richtig komfortabel, sowohl für schnelle läufe als für das greifen von Akkorden. Die Gibraltar Brücke ist einer der angenämste die ich schon hatte. Die Hand kann hier einfach abgelegt werden und es kann ohne viel mühe sehr gut gespielt werden. 3. Sound: Ich hatte sehr hohe erwartungen von die eingebaute Fishman Pickups was der Sound und die Schärfe der Töne angeht. Ich bin hier nicht entäuscht worden. Diese Pickups werden auf jeden fall zeitnah auch in meine andere Gitarren eingebaut werden.
