Luna Acoustic Electric Guitar For Sale (Jan 2023 Update)

I have several other Luna instruments, all of which I really like; but I have always thought that the Henna Sahara beautiful. … though the last thing I need is another guitar (have a mess of Godin – Seagull & Simon and Patrick acoustics too). This was on crazy sale here on Musicians Friend ( I think it has been discontinued by Luna), so I just bit the bullet and hit purchase. Knowing the hubby was going to have a fit when another guitar arrived at the house. Totally worth it. The necks of Luna acoustics are so ridiculously comfortable. Seriously I am sure they would be good for guys, but if you are a lady, or have a lady who you want to get a guitar for, THIS IS it. The neck is the best for people with smaller hands. (Like normal lady hands!) It was perfectly set up out of the box. Love the D'addario EXP 11 strings it comes with. Low action, beautiful sound, and absolutely STUNNING to look at. Luna guitars are so underrated. Amazing value for the money. Particularly this one, at sale price! Don't hesitate for a millisecond to purchase!Sus

Purchased after seeing online and checking a few reviews myself . The headstock was not in turquoise like the picture , Otherwise the guitar was far more beautiful than I expected . I thought the design was more painted on , no it’s a deep awesome edging !!! I changed the strings right away, and had to set the truss rod ( action was wayyyyyyyy to high) after better strings and the truss …….I can’t put this thing down . It’s amazing , sounds great, plays great, plays everything . Highly highly recommend itBkl

I have been playing for 36 years and own many nice high end guitars. I live in Switzerland and travel back to California usually twice a year to see friends and family. It's getting more strict traveling with a guitar and the airlines are starting to make you check in guitars. No longer allowed to carry on my instrument and not trusting airlines with my irreplaceable babies I decided to buy a cheap guitar for when I'm in America and bought one at guitar center. I already have a couple of amplifiers and microphones here so I can tell u this thing sounds like a much more expensive guitar either plugged in or acoustically. Maybe I got lucky but the model I bought has great action and not a single fret buzzes. This is a really nice sounding guitar and easy to play. The neck is on the fat side but the action is really low so it's great for my small hands. It's also beautiful. My only problem is I'm liking it so much that I'm tempted to take it back to Switzerland as my camping guitar now. Best guitar I played for the price tag by far. We will see how it holds up over time but I easily recommend it to others.Ha ha

First, every peg as broken and had to be punched out and replaced which was multiple trips back to the store which isn't close for me. It is never in tune. I tune it and play a few chords and then retune it. The string adjusters (not sure if that their technical term) are not snug and move around a bit, I notice this real bad when replacing strings. I get a lot of buzzing, my instructor does when he plays it. All that and my biggest problem is the graphic on mine is nothing close to the graphic see in pictures. My graphic is a grainy, obvious graphic and doesn't have any of the cool swirls as seen in the pictures. I like the feel and the glossy texture. Now that I have taken a few lessons I really would like to return this guitar.Big B

The intonation does get a little off too, especially when getting to the higher frets. The neck however earned this guitar a star though, because it fits me well, and that's my preference. I've had other people say opposite about the neck of this guitar, so the neck is really up to you to decide if you like it or not. All in all, I've had many hours of fun with this guitar, but don't expect to have a life changing guitar in your hands.The Archive Master

If you want a travel that fits in overhead compartment on planes, this is it. For the price of it being compact and preamp sound, you can't beat it. Stays in tune, no sharp edges on frets, feels good, finish is good, very well constructed guitar. Light weight and handles well. Take my advice, buy a case for it, the gig bag does no justice for protection, canvas material only, no padding.Buckeye10

This will be your best buy for a travel guitar. Comes with preamp while others don't. Well constructed, stays in tune, nice wood and finish, no sharp edges on frets. Easy to play with room for your fingers on the fret board. Set up was good and preamp sounds great. Gig bag is just ok but I would invest in a case. Perfect to take along on trips and camping. It's a beautiful guitar that has a wonderful, rich tone. Right out of the box, it required no setup, just tuning. Love the Fishman electronics as well. It sounds great in any setting. I'd put it up against Mid-level Martins and Taylors all day long. In short, a great guitar at an affordable price.gman1967

I've been playing guitar for 12 years and this is definitely the most rich, beautiful sounding guitar I've played in a long time. Not to mention it's equally as beautiful on the outside, I mean look at it. I was hesitant to buy it because it only had a few reviews on multiple different sights and about 1/3 of those were negative, but I have no regrets. If you're thinking about buying this, just do it! This is a parlor size guitar. In other words, it is smaller than a concert grand. This makes it a great beginning guitar for a teen, or a for a travel size practice guitar in general for anyone. This particular guitar was never set up, thus the nut is very high, and thus, so is the action. Any guitar straight out of the box needs to be taken to a luthier and properly set up. The reason the nut (and sometimes the bridge) are so high is because it is easier to cut them down than build them up or replace them. So, all guitar companies tend to do this as a matter of course. Some people want the higher action; like, slide players. But if you are strictly finger style, then best to have the nut, and if needed, the bridge taken down to lower the action and make it easier on the fingers. Another trick to help the fingers is to lower the tuning by 1/2 to 1 whole step. This will slacken the strings and they won't bite as much. This particular model of Luna guitar is one from their beautiful "Flora" collection. If nothing else, it looks great on the wall!vannerhorses

I use this guitar for about anything and everything. The full rich body of this guitar for the light weight compactness is indescribable. I would replace quite a few of my guitars with this one. There are no cons to think of when it comes to this guitar.Singer of the band Leftstronger

I purchased this defect open box guitar at a very low price . I believe the reason it was return was the painting on the top. The painting is so thin and fragile that with nails Ican easily scratch the top and reveal the vertical wood texture, which although proves it is a solid top. I am fine with it because I do not care the appearance as long as the sound is decent. And I don't need to take much care of it due to its value. If its price is close to a low-end solid top guitar, then I think it is worth it.QZ

I bought a Luna wabi Sabi folk in January 2022, after looking for a cheap Yamaha to keep at work. The Luna was a bit more expensive but it felt and sounded great and I liked that it had electronics and a tuner. After 3 weeks the frets grew sharp to a point where it became unplayable, slicing my index finger. I humidified and filed the frets down. Then frets 1 and 12 started to buzz. Looking down the fingerboard, I can see frets have begun to rise out of their slots. My local shop said the guitar was not worth the repair, understandable. I decided it was unplayable, so I raised the nut to use it for slide and Dobro playing but when I changed the strings, I noticed that all of the tuners had a lot of play, I tightened the ring nuts on 5 out of 6 tuners. I pulled it out of it's case this morning to see the top has cracked clean through, from the sound hole along where the top meets the fret board. It wasn't dropped or damaged and it lived in a humidified guitar room.

I own several vintage acoustics and high end guitars and I treated this guitar as I would any other instrument I own. Very poor quality that could be excused if it was a $100 guitar but it's not.Gregory Tellier

In the words of Mark Knopfler, "Loving guitars means you've got to love the cheap ones as well," and so, in that spirit, on the hunt for a cheap, fun acoustic to add to the collection, and with Musician's Friend reward points to spend, Wabi Sabi, the concept of finding beauty in imperfection just made this kinda irresistible. The whole point of this guitar I guess is that the solid spruce top is classified as "B-stock" thus making a solid top acoustic available in a price range where laminated tops are far and away the norm. But why are these solid spruce tops regarded as lesser? Apparently because, well, cosmetic imperfections. In other words the grain is irregularly spaced, and there are a couple of wavy, knotty patterns that have no impact on the guitar's sonic quality. But it's a solid spruce top nonetheless. Mahogany neck, very smooth and has a nice feel. Laminated mahogany sides and back. The fit and finish are actually very good. Satin finish, a bone nut. Nothing earth-shattering, but all very attractive and, best of all, straight out of the box, this guitar required very little effort to get dialed in. The intonation was spot on across the fret board, and the action was lovely, 2mm on the low E side and about 1.5mm on the high E side. Unlike many acoustics at this price point, playability is a non-issue. It's a joy to play. Tone-wise, this is basically a folk or orchestra model, and so it's simply not designed to project like a dreadnaught, but what it does offer is very good. I would describe its tone as warm, woody, with a rather mid-rangey voice, definitely not boomy at all on the low end, nor brash or harsh on the treble end, but nicely articulated and very well balanced across the fingerboard. The lone notable flaw was a slightly high 4th fret which caused some very minor buzzing at about four different touch points on the neck. Depending on your comfort level with such things as dressing a fret, this is either a big deal or not. For me, it's not a huge issue, but I buy inexpensive guitars with the idea that they will require at least some tweaking, and for me at least, this one required much less than most. I have only tested out the electronics briefly but was able to dial in very musical, highly usable tones with little effort through a cheap acoustic DI and amp with a touch of reverb. Overall, this guitar feels like a keeper. It's a player. It sounds good. The setup was far better than expected, it required very little effort to optimize and, unlike many similarly-priced guitars, it holds tune very nicely. I can't really say anything bad about this guitar.David

First of all, the Wabi Sabi Grand Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar is a cutaway. The photos on the Musician's Friend page shows the Wabi Sabi dreadnought (I have uploaded a photo of the guitar I received from MF and perhaps they will post the proper photos after reading this). The design around the sound hole, the color, neck and headstock are all the same as the dreadnought. That being said, this guitar exceeded my expectations right out of the box. It is solid, maybe a bit heavier than similar guitars in this size. Also, I would not know that the top is made from "B-grade" wood- the finish is tip-top and it feels good in hands. Appearances aside, this guitar plays comfortably and sounds as good or better than most solid tops I have played. The spruce is perhaps a bit brighter than my past acoustics (usually mahogany-topped) but it handles the low end like a dreadnought and strums with a full, rich sound. The neck is fast and smooth, the tuners are quality and the action, on arrival, was low without any detectable fret buzz. Plugged in, the guitar sounded balanced but overloaded my Behringer practice amp unless I kept the pre-amp leveIs lower than what I was used to (the equalizer on the preamp offers 4 level controls and volume). Perhaps pre-amp volume should be kept lower than similar acoustic-electrics but I will defer that one to more experienced opinions. I'm probably one if the few who bought a luna guitar in spite of how it looked. though i am a girl i didn't want a "girly" guitar, but when i was trying guitars in the store, i kept gravitating back to this one. it was the only one in my price range that "felt right" in my hands, was the best amount of action for me, and the one i purchased had no buzzing. HOWEVER i bought the display guitar, because the new, untouched one they brought out for me DID have buzzing on the top two strings, so maybe i just got lucky with this one. the other more expensive lunas i tried didn't sound great to me, but this one sounded better and warmer to me than any other guitar in my price range, and to my untrained ear (i've been playing 10 years, but would still consider myself a beginner), i myself couldn't hear much of a difference between a super expensive taylor and this guitar. i could feel and hear the difference between it and other guitars in it's price range however. and again, it just "felt right" in my hands. BUT AGAIN, a different Luna Gypsy Spalt didn't sound as good as the one I bought due to the buzzing (and maybe the newer untouched strings??) and buzzing can be fixed…i think… lol. I used to own a taylor GS mini, and i didn't sound great on that, but i do like how i sound on this guitar and it's way easier to finger pick than my gs mini was. IMO this does have a warm sound. is not loud, and sounded just fine when hooked up to the amp. i wouldn't buy a luna (or any other guitar) without first playing it, as it will always be hit or miss, and even the best guitars are a matter of personal preference. i love luna's chunkier neck, and the body fit my own body well. so even though it has a graphic design on the front (which may be pretty but still "fake" none the less) i purchased this as the one i tried felt and sounded great. just try before you buy!GlitterGypsy

GOOD: This is a medium thickness guitar, 20 fret neck, but it has very good bass. It does not sound like a big boomy Martin but it is richer than would be expected from the body size. Satin nickel non-name tuners look good and seem to hold tune. Fret edges are finished; neck is a medium to small C and is easy to play even for players with small hands. The output includes an XLR balanced jack along with a 1/4 inch unbalanced phone jack. The B-Band preamp is NOT the Fishman listed as included, but it sounds good; only has two band eq (no presence control). Strings were DiArdio. BAD: My new guitar had a chip on the back binding on the lower bout; whoever packed it KNEW it was chipped. WalMart had it listed on their www site as $380appx but charged me $470appx to my Amex Membership Awards account. The Dragon 'abalone/mother of pearl' is actually a clever DECAL; thankfully covered with the top clearcoat. The abalone around the soundhole also appears to be a plastic imitation, but its not covered by the clearcoat. There is no pickguard, so a $9 black pickguard from GuitarCenter is needed to prevent scratches below the soundhole. CONCLUSION: Altho the MSRP is $450-500, if I was buying this (not getting it with points) I would not pay more than $325-350. Again, it has a better than expected sound and unless you look real close it is a very attractive guitar.bikefreak

Visually, probably one of the most beautiful acoustic guitars I've ever seen and build quality is higher than other brands in the same price range. I really love what Luna does bringing visual art to guitars and this design is more masculine than most of their designs. Out of the box, this guitar is a little temperamental but can be easily and inexpensively modified to be great. The strings that ship with the guitar aren't low-quality, they're just poorly matched: D'addario EXP16 80/20 Bronze .12-.53 coated. Phosphor bronze resonates so much better with mahogany than 80/20 bronze: From chirpy and brassy to warm and buttery. Replace the plastic bridge saddle and nut with bone. A bone bridge saddle sends FAR clearer signals to the piezo pickup that the saddle rests directly on top of than the muted muddy signals coming through the plastic. Replace the plastic bridge pins with ebony bridge pins, ebony and pau ferro match very well together. Applying a fretboard treatment to the rosewood while the strings are off can really make the fret inlays pop visually and is good routine maintenance anyway. An afternoon of light and simple modifications to this guitar you'll have an instrument that looks, sounds, and plays like you paid thousands for it. I'm taking it to a professional luthier to have the truss rod adjusted and frets leveled perfectly and I would recommend that anyone also do this with any new guitar purchase and have it done annually to keep it in top playable form. Due to this model's unusual measurements, it can be hard to find an aftermarket gig bag or case. Not impossible. Things this guitar is really good for: -People with slender fingers- string spacing is smaller than more common larger guitars. -Flatpicking, crosspicking, and other precision-based styles that make use of the entire fretboard. Not good for: -Percussive style- the soundboard inlays mute percussive hits. -Flamenco style- very aggressive and uptempo strumming can sound muddy.G-Dub

Lets start from what you first see:Appereance: Overall great apperance, great glossy finishes, but there were some blemishes with the finishes and bindings. The major graphic was flawless, but the bindings around the guitar were 50% no existance b/c the company just painted overthem. And the tuners were all scratched up as well. Not the best quality. The joint were the neck is set was also REALLY sloppy. But those are something I can live with and I am sure not all the guitars turned out like mine. I got mine discouted for the blemsSound/tone: Great sound and tone. For such a small gutiar, it sounds perfect. I got this guitar because it was small, like my Gibson SG, and the size does not affect how amazing this sounds at all. Electronics: The tuner and all the electronicswork fine. They seem to be a great quality. Price/Overall: Like I said, with the blemishes and coupon I had, I got mine for 300 even with tax. So my value was great. A big draw back to this guitar is the size, impossible to find a case that fits it. But, the design, sound, and graphic is amazing. Don't worry about the blems, because I am sure the company will help you out there. My advice, if your getting a discount/coupon, go for it!Powerage

Great sounding and playing guitar, I replaced the synthetic saddle for bone, original was to tapered on the high E new saddle took care of that. Buy the epiphone or roadrunner jumbo case, nothing else fits, make sure if the guitar comes straight from the factory you use a humidifier in your case for at least 6 months. Especially in colorado. Then if you leave it out without a humidifier that you dont have forcrd Heat or air conditioning vents close to the guitar. This guitar has great projection.Kenny

After purchasing this guitar from American Musical Supply, I was really nervous awaiting its arrival because this was actually my first time purchasing an instrument online. I’m used to going inside music shops and trying out different gear and playing guitars before I buy them so I know that what I’m taking home with me already feels comfortable and right in my hands. This guitar in particular, however, is not a style that is normally kept stocked in the stores for customers to test drive before they purchase. Similar models are available in stores near me but I think anyone who has ever wanted this particular model from Epiphone knows that they have heard and felt the beautiful sound that projects from this big guitar and I am here to tell you that my “leap of faith” online purchase was nothing more than a huge win in my book! This guitar looks, sounds and plays just as I expected it would with much more to offer once it’s actually in your hands! I’m personally a country/blues guy so this guitar definitely fits right up that alley in my opinion. It feels so solid in your hands and the tone is just plain awesome! The Jumbo body allows the sounds inside the guitar to reverberate through your body as it’s pressed against you before making its way through the sound hole where it flourishes into that awesome deep, thick sound. From the factory the guitar is set up beautifully and very playable right out of the box. Quality parts, quality wood and quality electronics as expected from Epiphone and very well executed in this model. Definitely worth every penny for the undecided guitarist but hey, don’t take just my word for it! I once owned a Gibson J15, that I bought from Guitar Center, and I loved it, but I always wanted a J200, I just could never afford one. Well, I ended up having to sell my J15 to pay rent one month, and I ended up having some extra money from it, and thought why not give the Epi a try? It's closer to the Guitar I always wanted anyways. I was blown away. It has all the high end stylings of a Gibson J200, maybe even more if you consider the built in tuner and cutaway features for about 3000$ less. Well, unfortunately I only owned it for about a week before my car broke down and I had to return my Epi to pay for the repairs. I've regretted it ever since. I would have rather donated blood 50 times than have returned that guitar. (Fortunately I just got my tax return and repurchased it, and it seems like it sounds even better than before). As I was saying, it stacks up against s Gibson guitar nicely, the shadow preamp isn't as nice as any LR Baggs system but it will certainly give you lots of usable sounds. I think this is the best guitar in the 500$ price range and I'm disappointed in Guitar Center for not carrying it in store. I'm a firm believer in the fact that having a guitar you like, you like the looks of, you like the feel of, will make you a better guitarist, and that's what this beautiful, fat boy jumbo acoustic has done for me. I actually like mine so much I decided to put some money into it for upgrades, and I haven't been disappointed. I stuck some Grover Keystone tuners on it in gold of course ( had them on my Epi Les Paul before and thought would look cool so I just swapped them), some Martin ebony bridge pins, and some D'Addario EXPs and this thing sounds unreal now. So, if you're reading this because you're unsure as to whether you should buy this guitar or not, yes, you should absolutely buy this guitar and never look back.Anonymous

I have 6 Other Guitars and have been playing for a number of years. The build quality is Okay but One Thing about the construction is the Machine Head mounting location for the "D" String and the "G" String are situated in such a way that the Strings run really Close to the Adjacent String. The Sound is also Very Bright and Lacks Warmth in Tone even with the Tone Control all the way Down. Having said that it has a Good Action but the Fretboard was really Dry. Not a Bad guitar for the Money.Mark K.

I love this guitar. It's such a joy to play and the tones are wonderful. The acoustic alone sounds fantastic, but the electric feature works awesome and the built in tuner is great! I am also impressed that the guitar came with two batteries, one of which was already installed. I am thankful to have my new guitar. To get the quality of a Fender guitar at this affordable price is a great way for me to get serious with my playing while I enjoy learning on it.michapicar

I play locally for hire as a solo acoustic guitar / vocalist. My primary guitar is a Martin GPCP Aura. I purchased the Martin SC 13E in hopes of finding a guitar with better action and playability. My first reaction to the 13E was really nice and it did play with less effort / strength than my GPCP. The first issue I noticed was string buzz on the 1st and 2nd strings. It wasn't awful but noticeable. I played the guitar that weekend at two shows. I was still noticing the buzz. So, I started the set-up investigation. The neck relief, the slight bow forward that a guitar neck needs, looked really good, maybe could use a bit more to help with the string buzz. This is an easy truss rod adjustment; however, I didn't change the truss rod setting. The next thing I looked at was the distance of the string height, above the 12th fret. My thought was I would try to lower this slightly if I decided to keep the guitar. The next weekend I got the guitar out at home before getting ready for my show that evening, to run through a new song I was planning to do at hat nights show. I took the SC13E out of the bag and the 1st and 2nd strings were touching the guitar at the 20th fret. I thought the saddle had somehow pushed down lower into the bridge…. I exchanged that guitar for another SC1E. GC person was easy to work with and got the exchange handled quickly. About 3-4 days I had my second SC13E in my hands. It also had the same string buzz, even though the neck relief and action looked good. I played a couple of shows with this guitar and then I started noticing the buzz getting worse. If you are still reading, the reward is at hand. lol I have decided that the problem with this guitar, and probably the other guitar, is the neck angle is off. I will explain why I think it is off and explain how you can check your guitar. I have watched hundreds of youtube videos trying to learn how to set-up and care for my instruments. I have watched neck adjustment videos put out by fender, for their strat guitars, because I wanted to know how to adjust my Acoustasonic Strat. But what I am getting ready to sell you, I have discovered on my own and may not be accurate, but here it goes. If I put a capo, or hold the strings down with my hand. on the 12th fret, there is a space between the strings and the frets above the 12th fret. A pretty wide gap at the 20th fret. On the SC13E the strings are almost touching and the 1st string is touching. Wa La I believe that neck angle is off. I think it was off on both guitars. So check yours before missing your return date. If you check your guitar and it has this problem, don't totally freak out. The SC13E has an adjustable neck angle, so it can be made perfect. If you find what I described above, I suggest contacting Martin Guitar and GC. Another thing to be aware of, the three Martin guitars I have owned had the nut groves cut too narrow. I took my GPCP to an excellent luthier. He filed the width and depth to correct specifications and filed down my frets (I had two that where high) Both of the SC13E guitars needed to have the nuts filed. If you are trying to tune your guitar by making a very slight turn to get it just right and the string doesn't increase pitch and then jumps to a sharp pitch, the string is probably pinching in the nut grove. Both SC13E's were boogers to tune for that reason. One of them broke the B string while tuning up from dropping the pitch. I am returning my second SC13E tomorrow and I think I am going to give it a rest for awhile. Maybe look for something different. FYI: I love my Martin GPCP Aura, unfortunately they discontinued that model. The sound I get from the Fishman Aura electronics is the best I have heard. PS: part of the reason the SC13E plays easier is they use a lighter gauge string. I put a set of the MA535T Martin Lifespan strings on mt GPCP and even with the truss rod loose, the strings don't pull on the neck hard enough to give me the neck relief that is needed. The SC13E is a beautiful guitar to look at and the electronics onboard sound very nice. I learned, I'm not a big fan of having the controls inside the sound hole. A little awkward to get to while strumming and the phase reverse switch is way back from the opening. If you like using the hole covers to fight feedback, I'm pretty sure you would be out of luck. I think this price range of acoustic guitar should come with a hard case. I gave this guitar a 2 rating because it has potential BUT i do think both of these guitars suffered from poor quality control. My luthier could have made both of these guitars sing beautifully but I refuse to buy a new guitar and send it for repairs, even if the repairs are set-up issues. A new guitar on the north side of a thousand dollars should show up playing without string buzzing and the strings close enough to the neck that you hand doesn't feel like you just hung from the monkey bars during an entire recess.Dale

This is a beautiful instrument with a stunning full acoustic sound despite the deep cut away and relatively small body size. The amazing design allows for unlimited access to the upper frets and the whole instrument feels very comfortable to play. I wanted an acoustic guitar with the accessibility of an electric and this new design from C.F.Martin delivers that in droves without ever loosing it's acoustic personality and sound. I own a super jumbo acoustic made by another company but the SC13e makes it sound dull and lifeless even before it is plugged in. The SC13e has that familiar Martin sound which is full and beautiful. The fishman pickup will then allow that sound to be delivered to anywhere from a gig in a noisy pub to full stadium if required. What a stunning instrument!Reviewed by Kenny's Music custom

This is a parlor size guitar. In other words, it is smaller than a concert grand. This makes it a great beginning guitar for a teen, or a for a travel size practice guitar in general for anyone. This particular guitar was never set up, thus the nut is very high, and thus, so is the action. Any guitar straight out of the box needs to be taken to a luthier and properly set up. The reason the nut (and sometimes the bridge) are so high is because it is easier to cut them down than build them up or replace them. So, all guitar companies tend to do this as a matter of course. Some people want the higher action; like, slide players. But if you are strictly finger style, then best to have the nut, and if needed, the bridge taken down to lower the action and make it easier on the fingers. Another trick to help the fingers is to lower the tuning by 1/2 to 1 whole step. This will slacken the strings and they won't bite as much. This particular model of Luna guitar is one from their beautiful "Flora" collection. If nothing else, it looks great on the wall!vannerhorses

You get a 3/4 size acoustic guitar, of course, for the size. I already had the Yamaha APX500III which is a truly magnificent price-point instrument. The thinlne body moves you away from the bloat of a regular size dreadnought. All of the features of the larger brother are implemented in the APX Thinline 3/4: built-in tuner, volume and tone controls. The reason I wanted a comparable guitar in 3/4 size was to have it in my office nearby, ready to pick up at a moment's notice and for that it serves me perfectly. You can sit in an executive swivel chair and play this guitar comfortably. Do not delude yourself into thinking the big sound of the bigger thinline will transfer to the smaller guitar when play unamplified. When amplified the difference is slight. So now I have what I wanted – a quality price point smaller guitar that sits on a stand in easy reach for those moments when you need to reach out and find a way to explore a musical idea, run some scales, etc. Perfect solution!Jerry

Although I bought this guitar online from PMT (excellent service) I also posted a detailed review on Amazon UK where I also counselled against paying the stupid prices being charged by some of their affiliates. The PMT price was excellent. There were a few negatives with my guitar, all of which I was able to cure or tweak: the action was ridiculously high and until I altered the battery holder, the pickup and tuner wouldn't work. However, they were hopefully one-off problems. The guitar has far better tone that you might expect from an all-laminate guitar, especially if you play above the soundhole or at the end of the fretboard at around the 17th fret. Played with a hard pick it can sound a bit 'thin' but played with fingers or with a less aggressive 'attack' it has a really sweet sound. I am 75 with normally sized adult hands and do not find any problems with the fretting or scale length. Having made the adjustments, it's become my go-to acoustic guitar . . . and as I also have a GS Mini, that it is praise indeed. If you buy this guitar, I'd suggest changing the strings although the generic type which are fitted are OK. I changed them whilst shaving the saddle and fitted D'Addario 10's. This guitar is ideal for adult 'noodling' + a beginner of any age + a travel guitar. Funny thing about this world is that, a perfectly shaped, and sized acoustic guitar with modern electric pick-up and built-in tuner. The maker gives you a gigs bag, which is not much thicker than double bags from your local grocery store. And you must become religiously pious and pray that every time you go out of the door, that free gigs bag is gonna protect your $200 investment. I ended up purchased in extra, a Gator Hardshell case, GWE-acou 3/4. The case is still big, so I use some swimming noodles to pad up and cradle the guitar in full protection. The plush liner inside the hardshell case can be peeled up, so I can tuck in the noodles to form a snug fit. I also purchased an Amplifier, for practices and maybe buskering later. My setup of the case is not flight luggage safe, so if you are a frequent flyer, better ask nicely if you can give it to the cabin member to stow in the closet for you. I am personally happy with the sound range and volume, very little difference when compared with a full-sized guitar. The human comfort is better under your right elbow. The deal I got comes with a tuner, but the guitar already has a built-in unit running on 2 AA batteries. The free stand is ok.djadtoys

Bought the F-250E to play small gigs. It is beautiful and booms! I also bought Gator's inexpensive jumbo case which is for sale with most major online vendors – it fits like a custom build. It is gig-able right out of the delivery truck. I am 6 foot and of average frame and ergonomically it is quite comfortable despite its size. You will catch yourself staring at the finish, it could have fallen out of a time machine from 1956. I highly recommend the F-250E.Thomas

Extremely happy with the Jumbo! Very pleasing warm tone. very loud if you get into it. Depending on the setting, play Rythm you may not need an amp. The finish is impeccable. The sunburst is a beauty to behold. The setup and action very good right out of the box. always wanted a Jumbo, the Guild F250E was the right choice for me. I just got this uke in yesterday and I cannot stop playing it. I wasn't expecting it to come with a gig bag so that was a plus. I had to tune it (duh) when i got it and it has remained in perfect tuning since. I was slightly worried about how it would sound plugged up but it's honestly pretty gorgeous. The preamp could have been a little more elaborate, but I can't complain too much. Once I had added some mids to the mix it was sounding professional. The only flaw to this instrument, or my instrument, was the head stock. The tuners have glue imprinted everywhere. Kind of sloppy looking but the tuners work great. Lastly, the body of this uke is very stern and sexy looking. I could probably slam this thing against a wall and it not break. I am very impressed with this uke and would love for others to buy it.Donald1324567

After reading numerous blogs and reviews, I was unsure whether I should buy a Luna. It's hard to tell from words alone whether an instrument is well designed and constructed out of quality materials. I was thinking of a Kala or perhaps a Pono, but then I saw and heard the Luna as they're around the same price range for equivalent instruments. The Koa wood that was chosen projected the joy and definition of the songs without dominating. I chose this Luna because it has a sound that makes people happy and want to sing when I play. The "All Koa" body produces the authentic ukulele sound without being loud or obnoxious. The sound of this concert ukulele is mellow (no obnoxious brashness or egregious harmonics) and it's very similar to the sound of the Pono Acacia Tenor despite its smaller size. The inlaid abalone for the fret markers and sound hole ring catch the firelight, but they're not why I like this ukulele so much. When I'm playing, I'm hearing and feeling the music, not looking at the instrument. I've enjoyed playing acoustic style guitar finger picking style with chords for over a decade, currently on a high-end Seagull Artist folk style guitar. Learning to play this uke was super easy and it's far easier to bring on a campout.QuantumPerplexity

When I recently retired and dusted off my bucket list, I had to come to the realization that for many entries I would no longer be able to physically complete them, but you are never too old to learn how to play an instrument and on the upside we don't have to have the physique of a twenty something either. Learning to play the ukulele has been a dream of mine since I was a child. After extensive research of watching unboxing, playing, and expert recommendations on You Tube, I had narrowed my choices down to three ukuleles. When I searched "where to buy" on line for this uke, AMS was the store that came up first and with their no interest payment plan, no credit check, and price match policy, I was sold. None of the pictures online do this little uke any justice, beautiful warm Koa, stunning abalone inlay around the sound hole and 5 abalone inlaid waves in progressive stages depicting the influence of the moon. The action is nice and low which is a plus for arthritis sufferers like myself. I have not purchased an amp yet so I cannot speak to the sound using the onboard electronics, there are several Reviews on YouTube that do, but this little uke has a big voice even without them. Which I found surprising given that the body is only 2 1/2" deep, so if you are shaped like me, a Volkswagen with all my "junk in the trunk" in the front coupled with T-Rex arms, makes this is a comfortable instrument to learn. The gig bag is a pretty standard lightly padded gig bag, but on the plus side, the bag has a nice large zippered pocket on the front and the zipper on the bag itself unzips all the way around the bottom edge, so no fighting to take the uke in or out of the bag.Kaneki McNick

The sound is amazing. Its one of the easiest guitar i’ve ever played, kind on the fingers when I do bar chords/power chords. For starters the guitar is absolutely beautiful and built to perfection. The aesthetics and fit and finish reflects the price paid for this guitar. The grand concert size is very very comfortable. The 1 3/4" nut is ideal for me and the slightly shorter scale improves playability but it's not too short. On to the tone, I think the mahogany/blackwood combo makes up some of the best guitars in Taylor's entire line up regardless of price. On the grand concert specifically, the 322ce has a good low end response that to me is reminiscent of a Martin 000 or OM, the strong mid range typically expected from mahogany, and still has some of that Taylor brightness as well. It's almost like a mix of a more modern tone and old school warm and woody tone if that makes any sense. The guitar produces great volume (for its size), and great clarity and articulation anywhere on the fretboard which I'm sure the v class bracing plays a part in all of these traits. Although I find that spruce top models are a bit better in these categories, I also find the tonal range to be a bit brighter so it depends what you like and what your style is. The only negative thing I can say is I'm not a huge fan of the ES2 but it seems like most people aren't fans of it so nothing new there. The guitar sounds amazing mic'ed up. But all in all, except for heavy handed strumming, you can do a lot with this guitar. Fingerstyle, light/medium strumming, live gigs, record an album, singer-songwriter stuff, ect and you'll look great doing it all with this gorgeous guitar. A while back I was using a Taylor GS Mini and I got rid of it because the sound was too bright for my taste. I got a Martin and loved it but I slowly fell out of love with it. After a lot of research I decided to pull the trigger on this guitar and let me tell you I am SO GLAD I did. This guitar looks amazing, sounds amazing, and feels amazing. I love jamming with it, and I recently got to record with it and man the sound is incredible. The sound is not as bright as most Taylors I've played like the 214 Koas and such. The tone is a lot warmer than most Taylors but not as deep as a Martin, but man it is truly an amazing guitar. I absolutely love this guitar and it was worth every penny.Ceez
