I am a novice so I can't speak to how this compares to other similar guitars and bought this for my daughter. In hind sight the floahting bridge was probably a bad idea for her as it's a difficult guitar to tune especially after re- stringing. The guitar did arrive mostly in tune and playable. After just a few hours of play I noticed the output jack was loose and had twisted the wire inside. I had to remove it twice to re tighten it in the first three days at which point I resorted to using locktight on the nut. Same issue with the internal nut that holds the wammy bar in place so it got the same treatment. My daughter loves the guitar so I can overlook the initial flaws and as they were pretty simple fixes, however, if you are looking for a first guitar you may want to consider something else.Tim
Beautiful tone,very resonant. The finish is superb,equipment is professional. Assumed I'd be changing the pickups as a matter of price but they're very good quality tone-wise. Splitting the humbucker on the neck is very acoustic sounding…will try it with my IR loader with a studio acoustic patch to see just how close it is. Nice chunky neck to work with too but comfortable width at the nut. Nice and dark sounding with the supplied 10s but it's much more versatile with my preferred 9's on for Rock n Blues. Probably considered sacrilege for a guitar of this type but very usable stratty sound between pickups with neck on split. It filled my gap between guitars for a 'Les Paul with trem'. NOT just a 'Metal' guitar…In fact,much,much more.

Overall: I've always thought these looked cool with their single tiled bridge humbucker, so I picked one up. I am surprised this thing was only $180 before tax. It is made in Indonesia and it must have been made by one of the good workshops over there, because as simple as this guitar is, the fit and finish is amazing. The tuning machines are good quality, move very freely but also hold tune very well. The mahogany body is very solid, the black gloss finish on the body is free of blemishes and is very even and consistent. The finish on the back of the neck is very sleek feeling under my thumb. The fretwork is flawless. All the frets on mine are level and crowned properly. The ends are filed to prefection, absolutely zero sharp fret ends. The nut is a black plastic nut, so nothing fancy there, but it is filed to a perfect depth and the slots hug the strings nicely. I can't exactly speak to the quality of the tremolo bridge as I don't really make use of them, but it seems good and stays in tune (though I don't use it so I can't speak to how well it holds tune if you use it a lot). I'm not sure of the output of the alnico 5 humbucker but it sounds great and the tilted angle does indeeed seem to lend it a bit more bass than a normal bridge pickup, but without making it sound muddy. This guitar has me wondering why people buy something like a Rogue as a "beginner" guitar for a kid when you could get something like this for the same price or cheaper that is of much higher build quality and looks much cooler in my opinion. Best sub-$200 new guitar I've ever gotten hands down.
This has got to be the most value I've ever seen in a budget instrument. Out of the box it was set up good. Finish was perfect. I purchased the ruby red version. Stock pick up is aggressive and hot. Tremolo works as it should. Although I ain't a big user of them I can dive like EVH does on the first record with this thing and it comes back up in tune. Many people prefer something better but this works perfect for me. The only flaws I could find was one of the drill holes on the back plate was not lined up correct and a screw fell out. Not a big thing because I have take. It off for access to the springs and to change strings. The hardware is not the best. The screws on the claw stripped a little when I was taking it out for whammy use. Over all a very enjoyable guitar. Incredibly hot sounding and fast. The look is great too. I don't plan on upgrading anything just yet. Many buyers of this do hot rod them and that's also a very cool thing. Maybe in the future I'll consider some upgrades but stock is fine. I'd trust it on a stage no problem. Get them before they all go! There's a reason why very little of them are on the used market. For this price you cannot go wrong! Maybe if a yellow one of these was to come along I'd be all over it. Would definitely buy again!Cris w
Overall: Just got my Baretta Special guitar in black and all I can say is "Your kidding Me". I have played guitar for 50 years and have gone through so many brands, models of top name and bargain types of guitars. I have overpaid for some and gotten good deals on others. I mod guitars all the time to my taste. This guitar out of the box was intonated, perfect action, fit and finish top notch. Tuners are fine, neck is thin and fast. Overall: I've always thought these looked cool with their single tiled bridge humbucker, so I picked one up. I am surprised this thing was only $180 before tax. It is made in Indonesia and it must have been made by one of the good workshops over there, because as simple as this guitar is, the fit and finish is amazing. The tuning machines are good quality, move very freely but also hold tune very well. The mahogany body is very solid, the black gloss finish on the body is free of blemishes and is very even and consistent. The finish on the back of the neck is very sleek feeling under my thumb. The fretwork is flawless. All the frets on mine are level and crowned properly. The ends are filed to prefection, absolutely zero sharp fret ends. The nut is a black plastic nut, so nothing fancy there, but it is filed to a perfect depth and the slots hug the strings nicely. I can't exactly speak to the quality of the tremolo bridge as I don't really make use of them, but it seems good and stays in tune (though I don't use it so I can't speak to how well it holds tune if you use it a lot). I'm not sure of the output of the alnico 5 humbucker but it sounds great and the tilted angle does indeeed seem to lend it a bit more bass than a normal bridge pickup, but without making it sound muddy. This guitar has me wondering why people buy something like a Rogue as a "beginner" guitar for a kid when you could get something like this for the same price or cheaper that is of much higher build quality and looks much cooler in my opinion. Best sub-$200 new guitar I've ever gotten hands down.

The screws on the claw stripped a little when I was taking it out for whammy use. Over all a very enjoyable guitar. Incredibly hot sounding and fast. The look is great too. I don't plan on upgrading anything just yet. Many buyers of this do hot rod them and that's also a very cool thing. Maybe in the future I'll consider some upgrades but stock is fine. I went into my local guitar center yesterday and had close to 1k for a new guitar. I'm pulling off fenders and Epiphones off the wall that felt like they needed a lot of work done. I find this thing just chillin in a corner and the very first thing I do to every guitar is run my thumb and pointer finger along the neck to see if there is any sharp frets. It was smooth. Thought buzz would be bad. There was none. Thought tone would suck. Nope. Needless to say I went home with it. It does have a very few flaws. Pickup selector feels weak, tuners are so tight that they cause some sounds when moving them (stays in tune though), and pickups sound weak. What it is for $150 is a step above what Squier and Ibanez throws out in their budget price range. I can't wait to mod this thing. Despite a few flaws I'm giving it 5 stars due to it's price point.Matt
Overall: I wanted a new guitar because I primarily play Les Paul's and wanted something different. I found Kramer guitars and did some research and liked what I found but didn't want to throw a lot of money at a brand I've never played. I have played and owned B.C. Rich, Gibson, Fender, Washburn, Epiphone, and Ibanez guitars in the past and thought I found what I wanted to stick with. My Kramer Focus arrived today in the awesome purple finish. All I did was tune it up and check intonation and it was perfect. Very low action, smooth fast neck, no sharp fret edges even with the maple fretboard and a Michigan winter! The low humidity sometimes makes the frets stick out. The guitar is just awesome, it sounds good in all positions buy the middle and neck pickup are phenomenol, no buzz at all! The bridge pickup is good but I think it could be hotter so I may change that, the tuners aren't perfect but they'll definitely work, after an hour of playing and using the tremolo it holds tune very well. I highly recommend this guitar for any player, and I will definitely be entertaining the idea of purchasing more Kramer guitars from zZounds!Alex
Overall: Better than most up to Classic Vibe. The Humbucker is good. The alnico magnets are bar magnets so they are pulling threw pole pieces similar to ceramic set up. They are warm a sing with a sustain. The tuners are not bad, not top quality either but stay in tune no need to change in my opinion. The most work I did was with the frets. Now here is where the money was saved first. The radius is 12" so the flatness creates a sharp corner. The fret ends are not quite finished and the crowning is a little rough. After dressing the frets and setting the actionation ruby is a great guitar and the humbucker is a true thing of beauty. I've bought pups twice the price of the guitar and this thing still sounds better to my ear.

Overall: I purchased this guitar, had extremely fast shopping from zZounds. The guitar arrived packaged very well and seemed to be in prestige condition. Unfortunately while setting up the guitar I noticed the bridge Seymour Duncan JB pickup was deep in the pickup cavity. When I attempted to adjust it up, it wouldn’t move. I found out the lug holes for the adjustment screws on the pickup were stripped from factory and to remedy this they had thrown solder on it to hold in place. I know this has nothing to do with zZounds, but its poor craftsmanship from Kramer/Gibson. No reason a brand new guitar with brand new pickups should come on like this… I was able to fix it myself by soldering nuts to the lugs For the screws to attach to and using screws I had laying around. Other than that, the guitar was in great conditions and played fantastic. I just wish after paying 1050.00 for a brand new guitar I wouldn’t have to deal with a rigged pickup…
Sound: The sound of this guitar, with the JB bridge pup is totally awesome for hard rock and metal. Also, the SD cool rails in the middle and neck positions sound great. The neck pickup in particular really sings. The pickup compliment really makes this guitar outstanding. Features: Has a nice little wrench holder on the back of the headstock. Just keep a penny in your pocket in case you have to remove the wrenches from the holder as it is set up to tighten and loosen with a coin or a flat head screw driver. Ease of Use: There wasn’t really a learning curve for this guitar. Every feature on this guitar is quite intuitive. Quality: Very well made guitar. The Floyd Rose is great. Keeps it in tune better than any other system out there. This guitar comes with a FRT 1000 Floyd Rose trem. I think it’s fit and finish rivals that of the OFR. Anyway, it handles all the abuse I dish out on it, and stays perfectly in tune. Value: This guitar delivers everything that one would expect from a one thousand plus dollar guitar, and then some. Manufacturer Support: See my previous comments The Wow Factor: The finishes offered on this guitar are spectacular. I get so many compliments on the looks of my guitar. Overall: Wow, when I got my Kramer SM-1 the thing seemed too good to be true. The fit and finish was great. The nut was at the right height. The bridge height and the action was just right. I could pull up a mile. Beautiful color (orange). Frets were all level, and no pokey fret ends.As far as being too good to be true, well it did have a stupid flaw. Someone at the factory forgot to put a ground wire to the trem claw. I had to take it to the warranty repairman. Took the repairman 10 minutes to fix it. Four inches of wire and two blobs of solder was all that was needed. Warranty job, so fixed for free. Almost.After 6 months of ownership of this guitar, the warranty guy gave me a call to tell me that Gibson never paid him, and that he was going to submit the claim one more time, and that I was to pay him if Gibson didn’t. When I first brought the guitar to him for the repair, he wanted 50 bucks. I said hold on there man, this is a warranty job. He decided to do the job right then and there, even though he couldn’t get authorization that day.Anyway, I wound up having to call Gibson and told them what happened. They were apalled. Gibson customer service really isn’t that great. I’m still waiting on parts for another guitar from the for the last 6 months. Gibson did straighten the warranty guy out though, and they paid the repairman. Apparently the repairman didn’t submit the claim properly.Well aside from that one issue, the guitar is perfect. The blade pups for the neck and middle sound awesome and so is the HB bridge pickup. SD JB I’m told. This guitar, aside from my ground wire issue, was as perfect as perfect can get. If you are looking for a shred guitar, sheik one of these out. The placement of the neck in relation to the body just feels right, unlike my Jackson soloist, which feels foreign.Scott
Overall: after a thorough check of the guitar:the temolo system is of very poor quality.the knife edges of the tremolo system were badly bruised, as were the posts. the drive-in sleeves were very rusty and not hammered in properly.the mechanics were not properly attached and reils showed an idle travel of half a turnthe frets had strong scratches all over the fingerboardthe electrical system was laid in a mess, 4 cables came loose during the preliminary inspection, the 5-way switch had a loose contactall of the excavated shafts were not sanded, the electrical compartment was not shieldedwhy did i keep the guitar? because I am able to fix everything. and if i pull off the pu, it stays under 650 dollars for a lacquered body with a neck, that's oki installed a schaller lockmeister tremolo, schaller mechanics, a completely new electrical system, the frets dressed and polished, the shafts ground, the electrical compartment insulated, the misalignment on the nut fixed, a string retainer installed, new buttons installed.now i have a guitar that keeps the mood, sounds great and is the way it should be. I invested around $ 550 for this. so in total the guitar cost 1,600 dollars. I would have liked to pay directly if the manufacturer had offered it.I can't give you a recommendation out of the box because the guitar is not playable like this. maybe i get a lemon, but ther is no quality controll at all.Dirk

I would like to update my previous review, still love this guitar but I noticed when using the Tremelo the springs squeaked like crazy very loud. So I replaced them with some noiseless springs and replaced the cheap Trem block with a 42 mm solid brass block No squeak and the brass block made a huge difference. Cheap upgrade you wont regret. I used the heavy duty springs and installed 2 instead of the 3 that it came with. Works great…JuJu

I am a novice so I can't speak to how this compares to other similar guitars and bought this for my daughter. In hind sight the floahting bridge was probably a bad idea for her as it's a difficult guitar to tune especially after re- stringing. The guitar did arrive mostly in tune and playable. After just a few hours of play I noticed the output jack was loose and had twisted the wire inside. I had to remove it twice to re tighten it in the first three days at which point I resorted to using locktight on the nut. Same issue with the internal nut that holds the wammy bar in place so it got the same treatment. My daughter loves the guitar so I can overlook the initial flaws and as they were pretty simple fixes, however, if you are looking for a first guitar you may want to consider something else.Tim
Beautiful tone,very resonant. The finish is superb,equipment is professional. Assumed I'd be changing the pickups as a matter of price but they're very good quality tone-wise. Splitting the humbucker on the neck is very acoustic sounding…will try it with my IR loader with a studio acoustic patch to see just how close it is. Nice chunky neck to work with too but comfortable width at the nut. Nice and dark sounding with the supplied 10s but it's much more versatile with my preferred 9's on for Rock n Blues. Probably considered sacrilege for a guitar of this type but very usable stratty sound between pickups with neck on split. It filled my gap between guitars for a 'Les Paul with trem'. NOT just a 'Metal' guitar…In fact,much,much more.
It's a great guitar for metal. The guitar is gloss black not flat or matte. Be Shure after you purchase to check the hardware. The nut for the input cable on mine was stripped out also it's hot all the time even when the volume is turned down. Turned down I mean and not off it's not dampend in tone just sound. You will need to buy a gig bag or Epiphone stile case the hardshell roadrunner case does not fit because of the length of the guitar and the tremalo. Other's have said it doesn't stay in tune keep in mind new string's stretch. I tuned mine 3 times then after the strings stretched it stays in tune. It's an excellent sounding guitar with great sustain. I jamm on it every night. I would definitely buy another. Hope this helps. Thanks.. Jeff…Jeff

Overall: Cool nostalgic guitar , needed to do a set up out of the box didn’t take long until it was playin and I’ll still need to tweak it more . Mine showed up with two very small dings one on the headstock one on the body they are very small so I won’t send it back . Ebony board looks real dry so that’ll need work , frets seem ok but will need polishing. The neck plate was hit by the polishing wheel a bit hard so shows scratches not real impressed on that . Definitely change out the volume pot as it’s either off or on no in between.the pickups seem legit not bad but I think I’ll change to a full shred in the bridge like the original swans . The Floyd 1000 seems to work fine and hold tune but there is a cheapness about it . I’ll be changing it out to a German Floyd original. It’s light and well balanced easy to play . No case or even a gig bag at this price point I think Gibson should have included one or the other . I’m very hesitant to buy overseas made guitars as all of my others are USA made high quality , but at this price point I’d buy it again rather then spend $5k on a old beat swan . Overall: I purchased the polka dot one, always wanted one in the 80's but they were hard to find. So happy they reissued this model. Plays great, ebony neck is smooth & plays effortlessly. Floyd Rose is great stays in tune. Pickups sound amazing. I play alot of 80's hair metal & this is a great addition to my arsenal.
Overall: First off, the guitar is beautiful! Such a great looking instrument… unfortunately that’s where it ended for me. I will say in the 15 years of guitar buying and selling I’ve done, the setup on this guitar was the worst out of the box I’ve ever experienced. Ridiculously high action, way too much neck relief, pickups not adjusted correctly, and sandpaper rough frets. These are things that can be fixed with a full set up and fret finishing… odd that a new guitar has such rough frets though. The things I couldn’t live with that are making ship the guitar back for a refund; they sent me a left handed trem bar with a right handed guitar, and the neck has about 8 dents in the back that you feel as you play… like someone took a butter knife and just whacked the neck a handful of times. Unacceptable for a new guitar. Sad it ended this way, always liked Kramer 🙁Cody

I purchased this guitar as a substitution of an order I placed for a EVH 5150. I made the purchase of the EVH then told in order to ship it(it was boxed and ready to ship) I had to cancel my pre-order that I had for the same guitar. I canceled it and later told that it was so such guitar in stock and I could pre-order it again but I'll be at the end of the list. So since I was in the buying mood, I bought this guitar. It is a great guitar, looks as good as it plays! Once I'm finished with my installment agreement, I will not be purchasing from this company again.

Overall: I purchased this guitar, had extremely fast shopping from zZounds. The guitar arrived packaged very well and seemed to be in prestige condition. Unfortunately while setting up the guitar I noticed the bridge Seymour Duncan JB pickup was deep in the pickup cavity. When I attempted to adjust it up, it wouldn’t move. I found out the lug holes for the adjustment screws on the pickup were stripped from factory and to remedy this they had thrown solder on it to hold in place. I know this has nothing to do with zZounds, but its poor craftsmanship from Kramer/Gibson. No reason a brand new guitar with brand new pickups should come on like this… I was able to fix it myself by soldering nuts to the lugs For the screws to attach to and using screws I had laying around. Other than that, the guitar was in great conditions and played fantastic. I just wish after paying 1050.00 for a brand new guitar I wouldn’t have to deal with a rigged pickup…
Sound: The sound of this guitar, with the JB bridge pup is totally awesome for hard rock and metal. Also, the SD cool rails in the middle and neck positions sound great. The neck pickup in particular really sings. The pickup compliment really makes this guitar outstanding. Features: Has a nice little wrench holder on the back of the headstock. Just keep a penny in your pocket in case you have to remove the wrenches from the holder as it is set up to tighten and loosen with a coin or a flat head screw driver. Ease of Use: There wasn’t really a learning curve for this guitar. Every feature on this guitar is quite intuitive. Quality: Very well made guitar. The Floyd Rose is great. Keeps it in tune better than any other system out there. This guitar comes with a FRT 1000 Floyd Rose trem. I think it’s fit and finish rivals that of the OFR. Anyway, it handles all the abuse I dish out on it, and stays perfectly in tune. Value: This guitar delivers everything that one would expect from a one thousand plus dollar guitar, and then some. Manufacturer Support: See my previous comments The Wow Factor: The finishes offered on this guitar are spectacular. I get so many compliments on the looks of my guitar. Overall: Wow, when I got my Kramer SM-1 the thing seemed too good to be true. The fit and finish was great. The nut was at the right height. The bridge height and the action was just right. I could pull up a mile. Beautiful color (orange). Frets were all level, and no pokey fret ends.As far as being too good to be true, well it did have a stupid flaw. Someone at the factory forgot to put a ground wire to the trem claw. I had to take it to the warranty repairman. Took the repairman 10 minutes to fix it. Four inches of wire and two blobs of solder was all that was needed. Warranty job, so fixed for free. Almost.After 6 months of ownership of this guitar, the warranty guy gave me a call to tell me that Gibson never paid him, and that he was going to submit the claim one more time, and that I was to pay him if Gibson didn’t. When I first brought the guitar to him for the repair, he wanted 50 bucks. I said hold on there man, this is a warranty job. He decided to do the job right then and there, even though he couldn’t get authorization that day.Anyway, I wound up having to call Gibson and told them what happened. They were apalled. Gibson customer service really isn’t that great. I’m still waiting on parts for another guitar from the for the last 6 months. Gibson did straighten the warranty guy out though, and they paid the repairman. Apparently the repairman didn’t submit the claim properly.Well aside from that one issue, the guitar is perfect. The blade pups for the neck and middle sound awesome and so is the HB bridge pickup. SD JB I’m told. This guitar, aside from my ground wire issue, was as perfect as perfect can get. If you are looking for a shred guitar, sheik one of these out. The placement of the neck in relation to the body just feels right, unlike my Jackson soloist, which feels foreign.Scott

When I first brought the guitar to him for the repair, he wanted 50 bucks. I said hold on there man, this is a warranty job. He decided to do the job right then and there, even though he couldn’t get authorization that day.Anyway, I wound up having to call Gibson and told them what happened. They were apalled. Gibson customer service really isn’t that great. I’m still waiting on parts for another guitar from the for the last 6 months. Gibson did straighten the warranty guy out though, and they paid the repairman. Apparently the repairman didn’t submit the claim properly.Well aside from that one issue, the guitar is perfect. The blade pups for the neck and middle sound awesome and so is the HB bridge pickup. SD JB I’m told. This guitar, aside from my ground wire issue, was as perfect as perfect can get. If you are looking for a shred guitar, sheik one of these out. The placement of the neck in relation to the body just feels right, unlike my Jackson soloist, which feels foreign.Scott
Overall: after a thorough check of the guitar:the temolo system is of very poor quality.the knife edges of the tremolo system were badly bruised, as were the posts. the drive-in sleeves were very rusty and not hammered in properly.the mechanics were not properly attached and reils showed an idle travel of half a turnthe frets had strong scratches all over the fingerboardthe electrical system was laid in a mess, 4 cables came loose during the preliminary inspection, the 5-way switch had a loose contactall of the excavated shafts were not sanded, the electrical compartment was not shieldedwhy did i keep the guitar? because I am able to fix everything. and if i pull off the pu, it stays under 650 dollars for a lacquered body with a neck, that's oki installed a schaller lockmeister tremolo, schaller mechanics, a completely new electrical system, the frets dressed and polished, the shafts ground, the electrical compartment insulated, the misalignment on the nut fixed, a string retainer installed, new buttons installed.now i have a guitar that keeps the mood, sounds great and is the way it should be. I invested around $ 550 for this. so in total the guitar cost 1,600 dollars. I would have liked to pay directly if the manufacturer had offered it.I can't give you a recommendation out of the box because the guitar is not playable like this. maybe i get a lemon, but ther is no quality controll at all.Dirk

Ottima chitarra arrivata senza nessuna regolazione se siete principianti mettete in conto anche un setup completo dal liutaio io ho provveduto da solo per esperienza, la chitarra si presenta priva di difetti visivi non sono riuscito a trovarne, i pick up suonano benissimo hanno superato tutte le mie prove, il ponte tiene bene l'accordatura manico molto comodo satinato sembra come fosse grezzo senza alcun tipo di vernice anche sulla tastiera, non ho messo 5 stelle per il fatto che il corpo poteva essere sagomato meglio è i tasti sono davvero piccoli è non so quanto dureranno all'usura delle corde, per il prezzo è davvero un miracolo è tutto sommato sono più che soddisfatto dell'acquisto, peso contenuto 3,3 kgMassimo Farcomeni
I've been playing guitar for over 40 years. I've been dealing with Floyd Rose Bridges since the 80s. This is a decent guitar for the money but it definitely had issues. The main issue is the setup. If you're buying this as a first guitar or a beginner guitar for a child I would recommend getting a guitar without the Floyd Rose. At tuning stability issues from the start. I went to tighten the neck up with the truss rod and noticed the truss rod had 0 tension on it. Few turns with an allen wrench the tuning stability was much improved. If you are a beginner and really want a Floyd Rose guitar this is a good start but you may need to either have a professional set it up for you or watch a lot of YouTube videos on how to properly set it up yourself. If you're going to own a Floyd Rose guitar you should really learn how to set it up. Overall it's a great guitar for the money if you know how to set it up and I plan on modding it with better pickups, but the pickups on it aren't bad at all for a beginner. I'm going to give this guitar a three-star rating because of the setup out of the box. Once it's set up it's closer to a four or four and a half. Once again still a great guitar for the priceAx man

Lets put it this way, if i wanted to buy another guitar it would be very hard to justify not buying another Pacer Classic (except this time in Red, as mine has an awesome white finish). Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great playing versatile rock guitar. Be prepared to learn about Floyd Roses to get the most out of this guitar, but that also applies to any Floyd equipped guitar. Buy it. The guitar has several great features that I like, solid mahogany body, maple neck with maple fret board, a well made licensed floyd rose, two humbuckers each with a volume control and a master tone control. The volume controls feature a treble bleed mod. It stops the sound getting muffled when you roll down the volume. I really like this feature as i use my volume knob a lot to control the amount of overdrive in my sound, and the treble bleed mod keeps the tone crisp at lower volume settings. When the guitar arrived i needed to put on new strings, completely set up the floyd rose so it was level with the body and had to set the action . This may put off some people but once i set it up it is one of the best playing guitars that i've played. The neck is amazing, flat radius for easy bends and fast lead work but with some depth, it is not a super skinny neck and is very easy to play. Fast legato runs, tapping and chord work are all easy, and the guitar is very hard to put down. The licensed floyd is actually very good, a surprise at this price point, and keeps the guitar in perfect tune after divebombs and pull ups. The stock pickups are also pretty good, especially for high gain stuff, they have good articulation and top end sizzle, great for 80s rock. Have upgraded to Seymour Duncan JB and 59 and the guitar has an amazing sound now, great for rock, metal and even blues. This is one of the best value guitars available today. The stock components work great and if you ever need to upgrade an original Floyd Rose drops right in and some Seymour Duncans or Dimarzios would be an easy upgrade. The body and neck are well made and the frets well dressed. A really great playing guitar.
Wanted a solid guitar with a high quality build that didn't break the bank so I could spend more $$ to modify it to my preferred setup. Great guitar out of the box – minimum setup required, intonation setup very well – only needed minor adjustment, great tone, sustain, pickups are actually very well rounded with an emphasis on rock, Trem springs needed a little tightening, a few minor paint flaws around some of the cutout areas (by knobs Jack input, truss rod) – but nothing you'd notice without inspecting the guitar thoroughly, and a great feeling neck – It's thin but not too thin – it's flat but not too flat – it's definitely made for speed but it's got a bit of meat all the way down to make chording as comfortable as soloing – it's not life changing or anything but it's a very cool to play on. I bought this guitar with the intent of making some changes for my own preferences (knobs, springs, Trem stopper, d-tuna, pickups), but none of them are required because this is a great guitar as is. I'm still going forward with the modifications but if you want a guitar that's built to last with everything you need out of the box – this is that guitar.Robbie J
After owning , and finally selling this guitar after a year of: several setups and many modifications from pickups to brass blocks… I fought constantly to keep this guitar in tune. Open chords by the nut were a mess. Had it setup professionally twice, couldn't remedy. I never played a guitar with the high e sting sitting so close to the edge of the fretboard.?? Very difficult to adjust to. The pickups sound thin and flat, definitely need replacing. If you start adding brass upgrades to compensate for the cheap pot metal all over this thing, you're looking at investing considerable money This is a good economy guitar, you get what you pay for, however I didn't find this guitar to be the " secret gem" that many make it out to be. You're not getting a bargain version of the 80s Pacers here…ncaso
