I had become spoiled over the past few months using my friend's Motion Sound 3D rotary horn amp with my over achieving Casino keyboard. When he needed it back I had to find a way to feed my Leslie addiction without having to lug equipment around on a dolly. I tried my Money Laundry pedal which is excellent for guitar but fought with the DSP effects from my Casino. I did find a back door way to disable the DSP effects eventually. But the real solution was the Lester K! To my unsophisticated ear it sounds as good as the Motion Sound and offers a better control interface. It doesn't conflict with the DSP effects although I think it is better without them in the path. I am using it through a simple Peavey keyboard amp and couldn't be happier with the results. I bought this solely with the intention of recreating the tone from Balck Hole Sun and several other rotary speaker tracks, but within the first hour I'd churned out so many riffs I didn't know what to do with them. If you have ANY effects of any kind in front of the unit (including on board DSP/COSM effects), eliminate them immediately! Otherwise, you will get a much less satisfying experience with this unit.Eliminating the upfront effects gives you the ultimate pulsing whirly, swirly sound in STEREO. The drive and balance knobs do a great job, as do the slow and fast speed knobs working together with the brake switch.Just use a dry drawbar setup into the unit. Not sure you need any other effects post Lester K. Use 2 amps for stereo panning if you can. These cabinet simulators are okay when it comes to recording low to medium gain tone. The problem starts when you compare what these IR's give you compared with a high gain amp recorded at high volume. I've yet to hear an IR that captures the elusive loud quality of a cranked speaker cabinet. It's a bit like comparing an mp3 with an analogue recording. They sound fine until you do a side by side with the original. That's when you hear what's missing. A cheap, usable solution, but not them same.neil.the.hippy
Ive never used sims before. I record the old fashion way. Eventually I came to my senses and tried it out. I get really convincing amp tones now direct recording without bothering anybody. I use a tube preamp to give it some organicness and the radar really handle speaker types and power tube arrangements and eq settings . Ive loaded other irs into it with great results. I get a slight latency but doesnt bother me to the point of playing out of time. Ive tried out of pedal board to radar than a powered speaker and could use like an amp in a pinch, very convincing amp tones. There are 2 things about this pedal that make me feel it's pointless. Firstly the interface makes it near impossible to edit. You need to download the software and edit it with a pc. If you have a pc, you don't need to store your IR's on this pedal. If the software was available as an app, it would help. But it isn't. 2nd. I can understand the logic behind miniaturizing the pedal, but miniaturizing the manual so its near unreadable is just stupid. The PDF is a far better option. Super disappointed, because although this will act as Wah and Volume pedal, IT WILL NOT DO BOTH at the same time!?! Why not just allow the Wah to be activated by the foot switch, which it does have?? I am yet to try the expression function but the wah is decent, if a little wooly in overall tone, i think there is a bit of a low end boost through the whole sweep. The volume function has a lot of effect at the begining of the sweep with not much difference the once your toe is half way down. However it does more than expected for the price. nice chorus pedal, sounds great and easy to use , however, mine makes a "pop" sound when engaged. the foot switch is a true bypass but is not wired in an optimal way. Correcting the switch wiring proved difficult because the switch is soldered directly to the pc card, and the card is double sided. So here is an easy solution to this problem and no more popping. the 2 resistors are 2.2 Meg. I included a photo for the location of the resistors. Works great now!Walter

I have always appreciated TC Electronic for the great effect boxes that they make. Each one is built like a brick house, and this Hall of Fame 2 is no exception. Anything from gated reverbs to reverse are available in this easy to use package. I use mine primarily for my Moog Subsequent37 to enhance the sounds on it even further and I'm always pleased with the results. I also have the smaller Hall of Fame that I use with my Marshall top, but I think you can expand even deeper with this one. The other thing that I love about their products is the availability of the TonePrints, and there are many to chose from. There just seems to be no end of what type of sound you are looking for when you use the Hall of Fame 2 in your arsenal of effects. I am very pleased with this purchase and, as always, I'll be looking forward to more in the future. Sweetwater always treats me right when I order anything from them and I kind of like the candy too. Needed a reverb pedal as my recent amp purchase, Marshall Origin 20H does not have onboard reverb. Decent sound from subtle to cavernous. AN expression function on the switch adds more versatility. As a professional recording engineer I've been familiar with TC Electronic for decades. I've used TC Electronic gear for a long time in the studio and have always found it to be the best of the best. However, as a hobbyist guitar player I was not as familiar with TC pedals as I was with pedals by other manufacturers (MXR, Dunlop, Boss, Ibanez, etc…). I've been looking for a good reverb pedal to run in my FX loop because the reverb built into the amp is pre FX Send and since I play with tons of gain I have a gate (TC Sentry – also amazing) in the FX loop and the gate was cutting off the reverb tails. I considered a variety of Reverb pedals but ultimately decided on the TC Hall of Fame 2 for several reasons. First, TC knows reverb, their System 6000 reverb is 13,000 without the remote, 15,000 with the remote. And they are using algorithms from the System 6000 in the Hall of Fame 2 – pretty cool. Additionally, with Tone Print capabilities you get unlimited preset options and the ability to design your own Tone Prints. This is an incredible powerful and amazing sounding pedal. In great condition, works perfectly. comes with original box. the ce-2w waza craft chorus contains two modes, standard for ce-2 chorus tones, and ce-1 for ce-1 chorus tones. the ce-1 was the original boss effect and one of the first chorus pedals on the market. today it is considered an iconic pedal with originals holding a high value. in ce-1 mode you get an authentic recreation of that classic chorus/vibrato sound in full stereo, like the original.in standard mode you get the sound of the followup, the ce-2. a more compact and straightforward pedal but still a classic nonetheless. with rate and depth controls that apply to both modes, you can dial in the exact sound you want. from subtly colouring your tone to thick, lush chorus, there are a wide range of sounds in this compact pedal.you re not limited to the sounds found in the original pedals either. the ce-2w expands on the originals with variable depth on the ce-1 and stereo output on the ce-2.

This pedal is THE one to buy if you're looking for those hard to get Rush/Police tones from the 70s and 80s. It has other sounds in it as well but I was looking for those particular tones and found those in spades with the pedal. There are maybe one or two other pedals out there that can reproduce the same tones but I think this one provides those exactly. Works perfectly with both clean and overdriven tones. I've had it a few months now and it's extremely easy to use (just two knobs and a switch). It's a Boss so it's rather indestructible. Pricey? Maybe, but that all depends on what you're looking for. Overall: Being not at all familiar with the original and having only used one other chorus, this ‘boutique’ Boss CE-2W was purchased with the hope that I’d find new inspiration from a sound I’ve generally avoided over the years. Flangers and uni-vibe clones have always meshed better with my style of playing, and the chorus effect isn’t used by any of my guitar heroes so it’s stayed mostly off my radar. But this chorus is truly magnificent, and it’s got a couple of secrets.It has 3 settings, all of which are not only sonically unique, but great, useful warm sounding chorus tones. It’s thick without being dark and not too shimmery. The effect is not subtle, but it doesn’t totally envelop the sound. It works with your tone instead of conquering it. The real surprise is the vibrato setting. Holy moly is it sweet! Crank up the rate and you’ve got instant ‘Black Hole Sun’ sound. And the nice thing about it having the 3 modes is that you essentially get 3 high quality analog effects in one box, hence the high price tag. It’s stereo out, so that might be fun to mess around with in the studio. The pedal’s finish is like looking at a lightly cloudy but mostly sunny sky.If you’re a chorus aficionado, this one is a no brainer. If you’re not and you want something different but don’t want to stray too far away from the swirly goodness of a vibe or flanger, this one is a no brainer.
Impressed with sound quality , I actually use first setting more just to add more depth to tone , especially to my drive pedals. Second setting sounds great playing simple fingerpicking tunes. I used this pedal to replace a mod workstation that I didn't use very much. Really glad I bought this pedal , using it a lot!Russ

The JHS Emperor is by all means a fine chorus/vibrato pedal that should satisfy most players. That being said, I personally found it to be a tad timid in the depth department and a little bit too much on the "dry" side. It is said to have been designed after the Arion SCH-1, revered in some corners as a studio secret weapon, one supposedly inspired by the Boss CE-2. Somehow, I fail at distinguishing the resemblance between the two, but that isn't necessarily an issue. Overall, the Emperor is a beautifully made pedal that is guaranteed to deliver. Great sound & feature set. Purchased to replace a modded Arion SCH-Z Chorus that was excessively noisy. Fantastic expression pedal for Kemper. Configured and used properly this enables me to control volume, wah, pitch or morph (amount of gain is how I apply this) depending on what I have in the rig (I tend to only use one or 2 of these at a time and I proritise the one I want as stomp A in the Kemper for the appropriate rig). The additional beauty is the switch under the pedal so if you press on the toe portion of the pedal you can turn on/off the effect in stomp A – which, while it sounds simple, gives a lot more flexibility on the fly for how the expression pedal can be applied and potentially saves a rig slot too. Built like a tank. Plug and play with my Line 6 Firehawk FX. Does everything expected. Note – The guy that complained about it not having a toe switch misses the point of an expression pedal. It doesn't need a switch. You assign the parameter to the pedal, save the patch in the state that you want it to default to when you switch to it, then the pedal does nothing until you actually use it, no matter where the pedal is at, up or down. But once you move the pedal, it is active and does its thing. A toe switch would just screw up the ease of use.Grinch
I am ordering a second EP1-L6 to go along with another EP1-L6 and the EP1-Helix to use with the Helix Control and Helix Rack. I was using 2 Roland EV5s in place of the EP1-L6, but after the 7.71 update those became erratic as controllers but still work just fine with my Roland FC-200. These are solid, road worthy construction for any professional setup. Smooth treadle, works flawless with the Helix Rack/Control. Designed to work with, and look great with, any Line 6 product that uses an expression pedal input. To other reviewers: The EP1-Helix has the toe switch to turn an effect on/off. The Helix only has one input for this function, but has 3 other expression pedal inputs. These are designed to work with Line 6 products only. If you have another brand device, either get the dedicated pedal from Mission (like the EP1 for Avid, or Kemper) or use the standard EP1. I would guess that this is why my EV5s stopped working correctly with Line 6, but works just fine with other equipment.sshogrin

The strymon lex is a leslie rotary emulation pedal that gets you as close to that sound as you can without actually owning a leslie cabinet. the controls (including the secondary functions) really let you dial in the tone, and with easy ability to switch between fast and slow and to also brake, it's the perfect pedal for any pedalboard. this is the mono input version 1. the only difference is this pedal cannot accept trs stereo input. it still does stereo output. so if you're working in mono or this is the first pedal in your stereo section, everything else is the same as the current model. the pedal is in very good condition. it comes with the updated instruction manual (so disregard the trs stereo in section, haha). there are a few small strips of velcro on the back. all reasonable offers will be considered.
