1. Ibanez Pia3761 Steve Vai Signature Electric Guitar Stallion White
Product Details:
The most legendary and iconic signature guitars of all time! thirty-three years after the release of the ibanez jem, steve vai and ibanez have once again collaborated on something completely new, in what steve has described as "the next evolution of the jem". after all those years with his trusty jem guitars at his side, steve recently felt an urge to design a new guitar that reflected his own personal growth and journey as an artist since the release of the ibanez jem in 1987. steve and ibanez worked tirelessly over a period of time in order realize steve's vision; a guitar that can not only capture the same thrill and exhilaration that his jem guitars have always provided, but also one that adds new elements of aesthetics, design, and function. after an exciting process of research and development, steve and ibanez were able to create something that exceeded all expectations, something that steve has deemed “paradise in art”. ibanez is proud to now offer this new guitar, the ibanez pia, as the next of evolution of our amazing partnership with steve vai. the 'petal grip', arguably the most eye-catching feature of the pia, is something that steve feels visually represents the bond that two entities can create when in synergy with one another. it is this synergy, and its ability to create a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than its parts, that the ibanez pia is born.

Reviews:
This guitar is the epitome of world class craftsmanship. Every single detail is attended to with pristine precision. The playability is unmatched and quality unsurpassed. I own many quality guitars ESP Japan made, Gibson USA made. But there is just something special that makes me only want to play this guitar. Well done Ibanez this will be a lifelong keeper. Better then I could imagined or expected and I expected a LOT at this price point. Did not disappoint. I purchased the stallion white and it is breath taking in person. It has a pearlesque look which I love. If you are on the fence don't hesitate you will not be disappointed. This is top notch quality in every way and don't know how it could get better. A+++++Joe
I dreamed of having a guitar like this after seeing a cased Ibanez Jem about twenty years ago. Words cannot describe the disappointment I experienced after finally having them money to get something like this only to have received a dud. I bought this because the Pia looked so much more dignified than the Jem. I was excited to play this after reading so much about how Ibanez uses the highest levels of craftsmanship and standards for their top of the line guitars. Unfortunately, I'm afraid they've lost credibility with me. Here's why: – The frets were so sharp that I worried if cut myself. – The whammy bars (it came with two) were not tightly fit into its tremolo. They would make a clicking sound as they loosely rocked back and forth using some vibrato. – One area of the guitar was not finished being painted (or so it appeared). – The body was not smoothly sanded down as I could visibly see imperfections in the wood as light shined on the paint. I ended up finding another person on YouTube doing a review who experienced the same problem with the whammy bars along with some other issues. I wish so badly this guitar would have been the last I would have ever purchased.David
It is a great privilege to leave the 1st review for this guitar at Guitar Center. It is my 1st personal review at guitar center as well. First, it is a little surprising to see this review will be the 1st since this guitar has been released for half a year. But whoever reads this, right now is 2020, the pandemic year, and we do not know how soon this is going to end, maybe next spring, maybe even longer. Probably that is the reason. Please let us remember this difficult time that many people lost their lives, many people got laid off, we might get another recession… I am a Steve Vai fan, I made this impulse buy at this difficult time, but not regretting it. The PIA is fantastic, absolutely the best guitar I have ever played so far, although I handed on a few more expensive ones. I compare it with Farreri. It is just smooth on every cover of the guitar. Fingerboard and neck are just gorgeous. Frets are stunning. If I use one word to describe PIA, it is going to be "Harmony". Handsome but beautiful, energetic but soft, Yin and Yang. It is very light, but still holds a decent amount of weight (not as light as the Herman Li's guitar, that one is a little too light from my point of view). The newly designed Dimarzio Utopia pickups, together with the pickups covers are sweet and beautiful. It is interesting they named it Utopia, as the ideal society, but also like U to Pia, maybe it is part of the reason for the name of this guitar.Zens Tone

Reviews:
There is plenty to like about this guitar, and I got it for the features I was looking for: locking tremelo, 24 frets, fast neck, 5 way pickup selector, and nice looks. My first impressions of the guitar was slight disappointment with how sloppy Ibanez was. The tops and bottoms of the frets needed to be beveled as they were pretty sharp, there was a noticeable nick on the fretboard, and there was a black smudge on the back of the neck. None of those was a huge deal. The main two issues I have with the guitar are that the middle pickup, the single coil, has such low output that the middle three positions are much quieter than the neck or bridge pickups alone. I do like the tone of the single coil in conjunction with the humbuckers, but those positions are somewhat useless considering how quiet they are, and I have ordered a humbucker to replace it. The single coil alone (middle position) has too much noise AND is too quiet. Not a big deal to replace a pickup, but why they are selling it this way, I'm not sure. The second issue is the volume control. Instead of a gradual swell, there is a sharp dropoff in volume at one point in the rotation of the dial, making it pretty much useless other than having it full on or all the way off. I am not sure if that is fixable, but if it is, I'll need to have that done as well. All that said, if the guitar had not arrived in such sloppy condition and the two problems were resolved, I'd give this guitar 5 stars.hickory spork
The Ibanez RG 450 or any of the RG's are with the exception of the factory p/u and electronic. capable of becoming one of the best performance guitars to own. The base Ibanez Floyd Rose system is fiddley but, after learning how to adjust/tune quickly becomes appreciated for holding tune no matter the severity of attacks you use with the tremolo. The Wizard(ll or lll ?) You would need to go to custom built to exceed the easy play and comfortable frets you will find on and RG. This recent RG450 I upgraded to equal the higher priced models by adding the De Marzio Tone Zone (B), Air Norton (N). And instead of going with the True Velvet. Added the Seymour Duncan Vintage Hot Stack for the middle position and added better electrics to even out the upgrades.. End result; This guitar plays and sound equal to guitars costing over $1,000.00!! Good bones! Yes this can be played well and many will find happiness with this as stock., and, will perform well against the competition dollar for dollar!ikeus
I used to own an '89 Ibanez VBK JEM that I regrettably sold to buy a gaming pc. I wanted to get a newer entry level RG so I could have a floyd,HSH superstrat in E standard. I've had this RG for long enough to know it's a keeper. This thing has the same feel and vibe of my old JEM! Minus the monkey grip and other features obviously. The neck feels fantastic and I only had to do very minor setup adjustments to my liking. I would have liked a rosewood or ebony fingerboard but of course this is the lower end model. The Jatoba feels good under the fingers, similar to rosewood but with a slightly lighter shade to it. Like most guitars you buy online mine came desperately needing some good oil and cleaning. The Jatoba fingerboard seems to require a bit more lubrication than rosewood. The neck binding is done well, not perfect but to a good standard. I do wish the trem was an Edge lo-pro… But again, this is the lower priced model. There is nothing wrong with the Edge tremolo, it stays in tune well with whammy bar abuse but it is one of the bulkier Original Floyd Rose style bridges. The stock Quantum pickups are among the best stock Ibanez pickups I've tried. They are hot but versatile. However I did swap them out with the classic Dimarzio Air Norton/Steves Special combo and a True Velvet middle. I do believe a higher end Ibanez will obviously sound better than this but for the price it really is hard to beat! Well done Ibanez and AMS!Nevin

Reviews:
I wish I had purchased this a long time ago. It was a champ right out of the box. This is one of the very few times in 50 years of buying guitars that I actually purchased an instrument and not a project. I’m amazed at how well it was set up to rock from the get-go. AMS must take great care of their stock because this was perfection in a box when i got it. Crisp and clean, aesthetically astounding. The sound encompasses everything I look for but i got it in this one guitar. Rough and rugged tones for grinding out ripping leads, sweet mellow tones for ambient music, unmatchable warm and hot tones for clean country and soothing jazz. You just cannot beat this guitar in quality and sound in this price range! You gotta get one of these!DC Collins
I’ve read almost every single review on this model and the overall take was hit or miss. Well I musta lucked out because this thing plays great! I had no paint blemishes, was smooth around the monkey grip, frets level, neck relatively straight and after a home set up, twice oiling the fretboard, with a fresh set of Super Slinky’s dropped down half a step she was solid. Tremolo unit not as bad as I had read or expected. The bar will get loose after use but I’ve got it holding tune very well. You can’t pull the bar up like the big brother Jems without an almost immediate fret out and the obvious answer is raise the bridge but then the action is too high to enjoy playing. Pickups are really decent. They clean up well. Was probably the main factor over the White or Black. The White Jr just looked and felt plain in comparison. After owning a JEM7v and playing a thousand gigs on it this is a nice little reminder of what fun that was!Ryan
Purchased in Westminster, CA Sam Ash store. Had a hard time locating these in SoCal stores. Their online store said it was in their inventory, but it was not on display. Bryan, my sales rep, located the guitar and setup and tuned as quickly as possible. He located an amp to suit my style and plugged me in. He was very attentative, well spoken and enthusiastic – asking questions that were very helpful. Big shout out to Bryan for all his heolp and personability. This Jem Jr in Pink acheived all the tones I was looking for in one guitar from clean to shred. Pretty sturdy and stayed in tune quite well even after thrashing the trem bar to see if I could get a string to break. No fret edges, though the fretboard was dry (oiled then neck at home). No scratchy pots or finish issues. The weight was pleasant and easy to carry around. Got a great deal from Sam Ash and their service was good and meaningful and I left with a sense of a solid purchase. Will visit this store again and I recommend the Jem Jr if you can't afford the upper end Jem guitars.BaconFire

Reviews:
It came from the swamp! (Swamp Ash Body) This swamp creature is a tonal monster that screams like a Yeti and growls like a Lion. This Typhon is the father of all monster guitars. It came flawless and perfectly set up and intonated which is rare but it can and did happen to me. It outshines my Fender Strat and Fender Acoustasonic. As I struck a chord ON it, IT struck a chord IN me, and the bond was instantaneous. Guitar is about having fun and enjoying music not about snobbery. I'm preparing to entertain with my mastery of the musical arts and I'm going into battle fighting against fears, insecurities, and self-doubts but I can now face these foes fearlessly because I'm equipped with my new weapon of choice – this purebred sexy swamp beast axe. I was standing in a swamp, with my head hung low, not enough tickets, for my sold out show. Hear the roar of the crowd? Can you picture the scene? Put you ear to the swamp, hear my guitar scream. Can you hear it now? Are you blown away? You'll see stars for a couple of days! This S570 AH SWK is beautiful and thanks to MF my dream became my reality. MF jumped through hoops and went all out in helping me get this guitar. Call them up and they will assist you in overcoming any hurdles standing in your way of purchasing this guitar. They excel over Sweetwater IMHO. My EVERY experience with these MF'ers has been a 2 thumbs up, 10 star rating. What are you waiting for? Get your own S570 AH SWK Today! You'll be glad you did! As for me, I'm as happy as a slime covered swamp creature in a black lagoon playing guitar. The black on this thing is gorgeous and the silver waves ring out like silver bells at Christmas. When you hear it Roar, you'll be imprisoned in it's melodiosity (I coined that phrase) Metal, Alternative, Rock, Country, Blues, Pop, Reggae, Jazz it does it all. Just do it my friend! Pull the trigger and blow the brains out of your savings account and you too can start playing "FOR REAL" today. Costs less than a Prestige or a Joe Satriani Signature JS2GD-Gold Boy but I must dispel the MYTH… it's just as good and no one in your audience will be able to hear any difference.James
Sound: The guitar came with Quantum pickups. I have Quantum pickups on another guitar, and they sound alright on my Jem Jr. However, they sound spectacular on this guitar. This may have something to do with the ash body on this guitar, vs. the Mahogany body on the Jem Jr.It is amazing that Ibanez can offer ash on a guitar in this price range, when Fender has stopped using ash on more expensive guitars. Features: The most useful feature on this guitar is the Edge Zero trem. As a matter of course, as I’ve done with my other trem equipped Ibanez guitars, I replaced the springs. The springs that come on these guitars are awful and won’t let the trem return to pitch. I replaced them with Floyd Rose extra strength, silent springs. Now the trem returns to pitch as good as my Floyd’s and original Edge trems. There is no string retainer on this guitar. If you put a few extra winds of strings around the post, it will increase the break angle from the back of the nut, where the strings exit. If you get the break angle right, you can lock down the nut without having to retune. Ease of Use: The guitar is quite playable out of the box, with the exception of the trem springs. There were a couple of high frets, but they weren’t high enough to cause buzzing with a normal action. I always do a level and crown as part of the set up anyway. Quality: The fit and finish on this guitar is excellent. I love the grey and black top on this. Definitely a looker. Also, the description of the guitar on the website, when I ordered it, said that the fretboard was Jatoba. Well, as it turned out, my guitar came with a rosewood board, which according to Ibanez’s website is what the guitar comes with for 2021.Also, the jack placement on the top, is really nice. The end to the cord doesn’t stick out. Just be careful plugging in. Value: This guitar is worth every penny I paid. I am quite pleased that the guitar is less than 600 dollars. Great bang for the buck. And zZounds makes it a no brainer with their payment plans. Manufacturer Support: I haven’t had to call Ibanez personally, but I have gone through the dealer before, and they have got fast service from Ibanez for me. The Wow Factor: This guitar not only looks good, but plays great as well. If you aren’t able to do work on a guitar yourself, spend the money for a pro set up. It’s so worth it. Overall: Well, I wasn’t sure what to expect, as I took a chance and bought one that was listed as minor blemish on zZounds site.It took awhile to get to me, but that isn’t zZounds fault. The FedEx hub in my state doesn’t have enough truck drivers, and delays at the Troutdale hub are just a reality at this time.It arrived well packed and it turns out that the minor defect was just a small crack at the neck pocket. This would have probably happened anyway, and it is really small.I did have to call customer service, due to a saddle adjustment screw rounding out when I set the intonation. Sounds got me a new set of these screws through Ibanez, and it only took a few days. So good on zZounds and good on Ibanez.Scott
First, I'll say that first impressions are this is a beautiful guitar. And after adjusting every thing you can adjust, (truss, saddles, action, etc) it plays like a top tier instrument. The bridge and locking nut with very well with starting in tune. I had to adjust the spring tension to relax into a D standard tuning, but man does it sound so good. The neck is pure butter, and the pickups are very nice. A notably warm neck pickup, and a nice aggressive bridge pickup. Both sound great, but when the 2nd or 4th pickup position is in play it's a nother world of tone. That is when the neck or bridge are split with the middle pickup. Sounds so good. Once it's all locked in, oiled down, and hooked up you'll be hard pressed to find a better axe at this price point. Pro tip: If you don't know how to do the setups and adjustment please take it to someone who does. You'll be happy you did. If you do know how, spend a couple hours on it and you will be so happy with the way this guitar feels. Good luck !!
7. Ibanez Rg470dx Rg Electric Guitar – Black Planet Matte

I snagged this one, it was in need of a little tlc. i have it the fret polish and cleaning it so desperately needed, and basically gutted and replaced the thing.i put a dimarzio evolution in the neck, true velvet in the middle, and tone zone in the bridge. the cheap ibanez "standard dl" trem is gone, replaced with a new chronic gotoh 1996t. the block is longer than stock so the backplate won't fit, but if you're like me, you never keep the darn things on anyway. i re-did all the wiring with the good stuff and crl materials. the volume pot is push/pull for coil split. the knobs are included but fit funny and the switch tip no longer fit, as the originals were import spec. you van get knobs and tips in whatever color you like on amazon for like ten bucks.this thing is spec'ed like a 1500 dollar ibanez. it's freaking sweet. i'd just like to move on to my next project.

so I ordered this, then the order cancelled on ams side, never seen that before. so I called them and ordered it on the phone. asked the guy on the phone if they inspect it before they send it out cause I have read about fret buzz being an issue with most ibanez for less than say 600. he said they would inspect it. i get it at my door and the FRET BUZZ was so BAD it couldn't even play on the neck at all, lol. I called and was like "I asked about this and you sent one with that problem" lol. they refunded 25 bucks, cool. took it to guitar center, tech "fixed it" get it home, strings are so high it was like a 60s classical guitar! I had to bring it back, pull an ibanez off the wall and be like "like this". 2nd time was a charm. it is beautiful and now with action adjusted it is great. sounds really good for stock pickups. clean actually sounds really good. forgot how much I love 5 way pickups for clean and overdrive sounds. worth it, but expect some headaches LOLJared J
Absolutely loved it the first time I played it. The locking teen stays in tune pretty well and the neck feels great. I like the look of the fretboard and the frets feel great to play on. I'm happy with the pickups that came in this, not muddy or anything. By far, the finish is the most amazing one I've seen on a cheaper rg. Love the Jupiter film. Try it and you'll see how good it really is.Eddieh

I bought this pack as my first bass and amp, the bass itself feels ok but the strings and pickups are flat, the neck is not glossed or smooth and the neck being very wide for the majority of the neck; therefore, making it very hard to play. Pros: will get you through your first couple months of bass playing👍🏻Wild Jakob

Overall: I have never purchased a guitar online but my have things changed. My Son ordered an Ibanez AS7312 as a gift for me. I unboxed it and it was stunning and I am particular. I looked high and low for a flaw but found none. I checked the neck relief, it was perfect, fret rocker, perfect – fret sprout, none, it was tuned 1/2 step down and the intonation was as close as you could with 6 saddles on a 12 string guitar. Then I plugged it in and I remembered why I missed my old 12 string so much. All I can say is great job Ibanez and great job zZounds.Stan
I have owned my Ibanez Artcore AS7312 for about a year now, and I will say it is one of the best guitars I own…..and I own many. I was looking for an electric 12 string without the price tag of a Rickenbacker. Even though I looked at this Ibanez many times, it took me a while to order it because I was trying to decide if on a semi hollow body design that the jangly, cutting thru sound that I was looking for would be there. When the guitar came in and I plugged it into my Fender Twin I could not have been happier. The sound continues to amaze me even after a year of hearing it. I don't think I realized at the time I ordered it that it had a solid maple block that the pickups were mounted into much less realize what a difference in the sound, and sustain that this would make. The solid center block, and the back and sides are all maple. The block gives the guitar bite and sustain, while the maple back and sides tends to project with a more brighter sound…….perfect for a great 12 string sound….at least to me anyway. I should have known Ibanez would know what they were doing, but I guess I more equate Ibanez with solid body guitars so it took me a while to order it. I equally enjoy just putting on 6 strings and playing it that way too. I have a '64 ES-335 but I actually like the sound to this guitar better probably because it sounds more like a solid body and that is mostly what I play. It was a little hard pressing down 12 strings until I read that a lot of players tune down a whole step and then capo back up to the 2nd fret. This made all this difference and was then easy to play. This guitar has a great action, great tone, and is pure elegance and eye candy on stage, lol If you're looking for a great 12 string electric at a decent price I would highly recommend this guitar.kareydunn1805
First of all the AR420 is a beautiful looking guitar with the abalone giving just a perfect amount of bling. The setup and action were great out of the box. The pickups are pretty good sounding alnicos and the tritone switching on each pickup give a wide variety of tones. The parallel sounds are a great alternative to the full humbucker and aren’t as thin as the split coils. The neck is very comfortable, fret ends are well finished and the hardware all seems fine. I find it very nice to play and easy to get the sounds I want. Design-wise the shape gives very good access to the upper frets but that also leads to the primary drawbacks, neither of which is an enormous issue for me but just annoying. Firstly the guitar is neck heavy so it does want to dive and secondly the pickup selector switch is directly above the neck pickup as it had to be brought forward towards the bridge due to the cutaway. That does make it susceptible to being knocked while playing with a resultant pickup selection change. Overall I am very happy with this guitar.Andrew C.

I bought this guitar for my grandson as he was interested in playing. He found other interests and It sat in his closet for about a year and a half. I have a very nice Alveraz accoustic guitar I've been playing for about 20 yrs. now paid about 500 plus with the case. Long story short, I was looking for a camp fire type guitar and asked to use his. The neck was out of alignment so i took both my alveraz and this ibenaz to my guitar lutheran for neck adjustments and new strings when I picked it up he could not believe this was a cheap guitar and said I would probably like this better than the Alveraz. This is now my go to guitar for practice. It sounds Great and after the minor adjustments the to the neck which you would do time to time anyway, the DiAddario bronze 11's the action is spot on. I can live with the frets being a little rough. If it bothers you file it down a little.Intermediate Player
I received this JamPack as a gift from my dad for my 14th birthday in 2004. 9 years later, I still play this guitar almost every day. I learned on it, progressed to "better, more expensive" acoustics which eventually were sold, and have hung onto this cheap Ibanez. My example has press-in tuners, which is my only real gripe. These may be upgraded to bolt-in tuners someday, but i'm in no rush. The guitar holds tune for weeks (really), and holds intonation and a setup forever (I set it up once, when I first learned how to work on my own guitars somewhere around 2008. It's still holding that setup perfectly). The build is very solid, the tone is perfectly passable, especially considering what was paid, and I've had a very hard time justifying higher priced guitars because of just how much I enjoy my cheap Ibanez.MattyBegsBassist
I've had this guitar for about 10 years now. It was my very first guitar, way back when I was first starting out. This guitar isn't high quality, but for the price you should know that. Everything about this guitar is decent- the sound, the look, the finish. It gets the job done, and will be a great guitar for you if you're just starting out. The main gripe I have with it is reliability. I've treated mine very well besides a few dents and some fading on the finish near the fretboard, but the sound just faded. Maybe it's because I have much better quality guitars now but it just doesn't sound right to me anymore and I basically just keep it for the memories. The frets buzz now, too. But you'll get that on just about any starter pack guitar. It doesn't last in quality but honestly it's not made to. It's made so you'll learn on it for a few years, then graduate to a much higher quality guitar if you're committed. And honestly it does that job very, very well.Christina4242

Reviews:
I understand this is a 99 USD guitar and you are doing your best to keep the price low to make it affordable to many but…two issues I have noticed from the get go. A minor issue is related to the frets edges which were sharp, I played it a bit to realize it had scratched my hand in a way that I'm still waiting for those scratches to heal, in the meantime I have used a file to smooth the edges, so that can be considered fixed, would be great if you could take care of smoothen it before shipping, the first impression is always the most important and believe me those edges impress, negatively. The major issue are the tuners, very low quality and don't keep the tune, in my particular case the G tuner didn't work as expected and most of the tuners are not precise at all, I bought the Grover 6-in-line mini rotomatics for 60 USD, I hope that'll fix it. FYI, I bought this to experiment with a GK-3 installation so I'm using it for my Frankenstein tests. Best regards.
I normally am apprehensive on any discount guitar simply because the "standard" is usually considerably more. And that in some ways still holds true. But if you want to play and you don't have hundreds to drop on an entry level guitar, this one exceeds expectations. Bought for my son to start learning and he loves it. He wanted a red Strat and being 6 I didn't want to buy a pricey unit to start. This was the cheapest guitar on the website and I am still smiling at the choice. It feels solid, neck allows for good fret progression and allows for smooth transition. One thing I am very impressed with is that it holds tuning. Very rare in this price point. It could use finishing touches like tightening screws on the pick ups and smoother fret wires, but nothing to deny it's value and favorable playability. For the price it still wins the day. If I had extra money I would try their Telecaster version for myself, that is how impressed I am. Keep improving the product, you're on the right track to introduce more people to music. Thank you Glarry for the better than expected guitar. You made my kids day.
I like the exceptionally light weight (that's why I bought this guitar), and tones from middle and neck pickup are nice. Problems include: sharp ends of the frets need to be filed down, fret heights are uneven so the frets need dressing (i.e., sanding) to avoid buzzing with strings at a reasonable height, bridge pickup is exceptionally harsh (I replaced it), neck is far too thick unless you have enormous hands (I wear large size men's gloves), and nut grooves bind strings and prevent proper tuning (some grooves need enlargement). In comparison, of these problems, the $100 strat from Monoprice has only an excessively thick neck. In sum, this guitar is not completely finished and has a very thick neck. If you will finish it yourself and replace the bridge pickup–and you have very large hands or can plane and sand the neck thinner–this guitar is a reasonable purchase and is worth 3 stars. Otherwise, this is no substitute for a finished guitar and is worth 1 star. I spent 15 minutes sanding the frets, 1.5 hrs planing and refinishing the neck, a half hour replacing the bridge pickup (I already had a good replacement), and 10 minutes adjusting the nut grooves. All that remains is fixing the sharp fret ends.

I've been playing this guitar the RG470AHM for about 6 months now. I'm very impressed by the blue moon burst it looks like a prestige level guitar. the ash body gives it very decent sustain. I see people complain that the rg370ahm got the edge zero 2 and we got the standard DL tremelo But I can't complain because if set up correctly it holds tune great and does it job well. The block on the tremelo appears to be steel which is nice from I hear. I haven't deemed fit to change anything yet due to it being set up perfect for my needs and working well. The quantom pickups do very well and give both decent cleans and take well to distortion. I had to dial them in to my preference due to the sounding a little foggy. That being said this guitar can be easily upgraded. By upgrading the pickups for Seymour or Duncan's. Also you can upgrade the tremolo itself or jus replace the whole thing with a tremelo that fits the guitars route. Also by upgrading the block to brass and the tremolo claw for a locking tremolo claw. May also put inlays in the neck to give it the more prestige look. In my opinion this guitar gives you premium product for a great price . Nice wood work on mine great finish and easily upgradeableyugi-JD
Absolutely gorgeous guitar with a great sound! Pictures don't do it justice. Metallic look is far more beautiful than the photo shows. Sound is full and not the least bit "tinny" as some guitars of this value can sometimes be. Affordable, beautiful and great to play. Couldn't ask for more. The payment plan is soooo helpful when you're living hand to mouth. Thank you AMS and Ibanez for a fantastic product and a very happy gifting experience.Amelia
Overall: Took me 2-1/2 years but I finally ordered this through zZounds on a blemished deal. Don't know if it matters or not but I waited 24 hours before opening. Well packaged. All accessories, tools, owners manual. Maple fretboard perfect. Small Crack in clear coat on body at neck joint. No worries. Paint missing where neck bolts to body. As I said blemished I understand. Time to tune. Ouch!!! Play 10 minutes retune, play 10 yeah you get the idea. Pick ups and bridge are not any where close to specs. Finally get days off from work. Now I'm no guitar smith but when I have time I can figure it out. New strings 9-42 NY/XL. Bridge alignment, tonation, adjust pickup height, slight neck adjustment, adjust tremolo springs. Totally amazing!!! Night to day. My old RG450 has the INF pickups and these quantums sound so much fuller. Sounds amazing through a Orange crush 20 and a Boss Mk100. Country, rock, metal, hair metal this thing is amazing!!!Donnie

First I've always bought my gear from ams. This time it did NOT disappoint. This guitar is the best guitar I've bought. AMS DID NOT LET ME DOWN!!!!!! It plays fast and shreds I love the paint job, the tremolo is smooth, the action is sweet I have had this for about 3 weeks now. it met my expectations times 1000 THank you ams AMIE
Not very nice. Box came opened, missing instruction manual and documents. Tags cut off. Scuff marks on back. What’s with that AMS? I ordered a new guitar. The guitar after needing to be set up is amazing otherwise. I love it and still want to keep it even though I was disappointed at first. My only complaint is that the gig bag is flimsy, no protection and the guitar doesn’t really even fit right because the gig bag is too big.Leo
Sound: This is probably the best sounding guitar I have ever played. I had the privilege of playing a '48 Fender Jazzmaster, which to date was the most versatile guitar I had used…until I played this one. It literally sounds great with any style I have thrown at it, blues, metal, folk, classic rock, even some country my buddy plays… they all sound great, I was really surprised. The five way switch allows for excellent low end, mids, and highs, I really would not change anything. Features: The Edge Zero II tremolo is unbelievable, I have beat the crap out of it and it doesn't lose tuning even a little bit. There are videos of Nita picking it up by the whammy bar and bouncing it and it stays in tune, I haven't done that (yet) but I have been rough with it and I find it flawless. The Dimarzio Pandemonium pickups in the bridge and neck are the star of the show as far as sounds, it's incredible what you can do with them tone-wise. The True Velvet single coil is really top of the line no complaints at all with the hardware or electronics. Ease of Use: This guitar is designed to play fast, but really I found that it can handle any sound, The five way switch and the tone knob make it super easy to dial in what you want on the guitar itself. Once I had it setup, the playability is great, I can't think of anything I would change. The S style body is light and comfortable, I have played for hours with a strap and barely notice that it's there. As far as restringing with the floating tremolo, I must say it was the easiest floating tremolos I've ever restrung. Once it's setup just use the same brand and size string and it was like tuning a fixed bridge.I did have to have the guitar setup the first time, but that's pretty standard for any guitar out of the factory. Quality: The finish is fantastic. As I stated above, you really have to see it in person to get the full depth and effect of the finish, it shows more in some videos I've seen, but I don't think the photos do it justice. The Beaten Path inlay really makes the ebony fretboard pop out. the 3 piece Nitro Wizard neck is effortless to play on, I really like that the finish on the body is also on the headstock. The body and hardware are professional quality, I found no flaw in mine at all. I think the guitar will last more than a lifetime if properly cared for. Value: I thought the price was a little high compared to the Jem and other higher end Ibanez products, but once I played it and compared it to the other products, I feel it was worth the extra couple hundred. The ability to get practically any type of tone and have it sound amazingly good in all of them… well it was worth it to me anyway. I definitely recommend trying one out and seeing for yourself. Like I said earlier, I dismissed it and once I saw it and handled it in person, it's the one I bought…so… Manufacturer Support: I have not had to contact customer support but Ibanez is known to have good support. The Wow Factor: The Jiva looks amazing, sounds even better than it looks. The craftsmanship is not lacking in any way I can think of. You can find guitars that look and sound great, but I have not found any that are as versatile and fun to play as this one. I would recommend it and maybe even purchase a second myself. Overall: I purchased this guitar through a local store. I actually was looking at the Blue Floral Jem, or Genesis RG series reissues, I played a couple of Jacksons and a Charvel too. Then I tried this JIVA 10 and I must say it blew me away, the sound is just killer, and the way it looks is fantastic. The finish is really one you have to see in person to get the full effect of, the pics don't really show it, but it has a greyish green tinge to the color that I think is really awesome and gives the guitar a great look. Honestly I had dismissed the guitar when looking at most sites online due to the photos and lack of reviews, but I was wrong to do so, seriously this is worth checking out and comparing, I walked away with it over the Jem and it was an easy decision…(sorry Steve).Jason

Overall: The pictures do not do this finish justice at all, ordered tuesday recieved the next day, dont know how you do it zZounds. This guitar is incredible ive owned alot of ibanez guitars including some from way back in the 80s japanese made, this guitar play great and sounds incredible and with this finish will realy turn heads. If your on the fence just order it they will probably only make so many of these.
This is a solid built guitar with a sweet finish that you have to see in person. Pick ups are good. The only issue is, Ibanez needs to do more fretwork then what the have been doing. This is the 3rd Ibanez I have bought in a year and all of them had rough fret ends, and scratchy frets, would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for that. And as always AMS was amazing at getting it to me very quickly!David
I picked this up because I wanted an ibanez. I love maple necks, so this one stood out. Out of the box, setup was ok. I had to tweak it a bit. The neck is smooth, but frets needed a touchup. no fret sprout at least. Just some rough spots. The pickups are good, really responsive to harmonics, but you will want to replace down the road. They are a bit muddy. They seem like a knock dimarzio. They do the job though. I can shred with ease. The licensed bridge is decent, but the finish does rub off after use. Tunning is stable, but I will probably upgrade. It is a solid guitar though, especially for the price. Upgrades are not really necessary, just personal taste. I have a lot of fun jamming on it. I wish their were some more color options.Jdude

Overall: I bought this brand new from zZ! It came quite swiftly. It was packaged good and no damage was observed! The guitar was not ready to play right out of the box. I had to adjust the bridge and the truss rod. Once I changed the strings, and got the guitar set up…I was really surprised how good it actually plays! The neck is one of the best feeling necks that I have ever played on! It is slim and fast. The finish on this guitar is really nice! I got the red sunburst. It's a poly finish and very pretty! The craftsmanship is really good for a mid priced guitar. The hardware is really nice and quite durable! I like the fixed bridge. The tuners are really good and it stays in tune well! The electronics are good. Decent Pots and knobs! I was surprised how good the pickups sound! I use a Blackstar HT40 Club amp, and this guitar sounds great through it. The guitar has a five way switch that allows for humbucking and coil tap sounds! The tonal options are very versatile. You should be able to use this guitar for Any genre you want to play! I really am pleased with this guitar! It looks great, plays awesome, and is very versatile. I wouldn't hesitate to take it on the road as my main guitar…it's that sweet. You get a lot of guitar for a very good price!Michael
Overall: Impressive build quality, could not find any flaws. Pearl Black Fade finish is really cool and unique. The thin neck and jumbo frets are comfortable and fast playing. Tuners are basic but they seem pretty solid. The 5-way switch is an awesome feature for this price point, and allows you to get a wide variety of tones. As expected, the ceramic humbucker pickups do very well with high-gain stuff like hard rock and metal. The clean tones aren't the warmest or the most inspiring, but they get the job done. One thing I will say is that the sustain is fantastic…likely due the mahogany body and string-thru bridge. My only real complaint is that the factory setup wasn't very good. After getting a good setup, its been playing great. Overall, I'd say this is a great buy for the price.
Right out of the box this guitar was setup and ready to shred. I love the Wizard III neck and the Pearl Black Fade Metallic looks so good. I've been an Ibanez player since 1999 and played many models. The RG421 is up there with the best of them. The Quantum pickups are excellent, so no need of changing them. I own many RGs and this one has become my go to guitar for any style of music. I can't put it down. Well worth the price. Thanks Ibanez for another good sounding quality guitar, and AMS for the quick ship!Louie

Overall: I'll echo everything the other reviewer said and add what I can. I've had this guitar for a little over a year now. I have GAS really bad and buy a few guitars a year including several since. I've given 5 star reviews before but they are always "for their price range". This is to date the most expensive guitar I've bought, but it is a TRUE 5 Star Guitar. Joe and Ibanez threw the kitchen sink in with this thing. First thing I notice was that it was very loud and resonant unplugged, it is a machine. It does not have a super flat neck like the HP Wizards but is actually better for most things. I have 36 guitars to date and many that I buy I love at first but then get hung. This guitar has taken over my collection. The next one that comes close and gets a lot of play time is the AZ, gonna give that a shoutout, it's just something extraordinary and Ibanez is onto something with it. I do live gigs and the JS and the AZ both come with me every time. I was torn between this one and the JS2480, but I really wanted the MCP and I already had a sustainiac in a couple schecters so I felt I wouldn't be missing that feature if I Really needed it, and I don't. This guitar sounds just great and sustains wonderfully on it's own. Good job Ibanez. Huge shoutout to zZounds who was doing 18 months on this product at the time that made it possible. Hope to see them offer this option again in the future. I'd love a PIA or MusicMan.Rob
I loved the guitar, I returned not because of any fault but after 20 years of playing a Jem it was too much of a change for a 60 year old rocker. The tone and playability of the JS was superb out of the box though thanks to Andertons Quality control. Andertons will get my future business even though they are 150 miles away. I trust them, rare these days. Thanks you Andertons.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Overall: I got this guitar as a birthday present from my wife. This thing is incredible! I am normally a strat guy. But I have always wanted a JS model. The tonal range you can get from this guitar is staggering! I can go from the “satch tone” to a Les Paul tone to a strat tone all on one instrument! I couldn’t be any happier… or surprised. The flexibility I get with one guitar is incredible. A dream come true for me, as I play many styles. What a true chameleon of tone! The craftsmanship of the instrument is flawless in every way. I couldn’t find a single hint of a defect anywhere on this thing! The bridge was set to the proper height and everything! I had to tune it up when I got it and stretch the strings. But, I haven’t had to do any tuning since. And I have abused the double locking trem on this. So happy I got this!Johnny
