Recently downsized my Fractal (Axe-fx) live rig into this little unit. I've had it now for about a month and i'm really happy with it. It does everything i hoped it would and the tones i'm able to pull are great. The built in presets are a really great place to start and you can dial in your 'sound' even more with the many effects available. The touchscreen is an awesome feature but i'm really happy with the computer editing capabilities, as that's what i'm used to. The build quality is actually really strong and the built in exp pedal is super solid too. And it's small, like.. smaller than my keyboard! Perfect for carrying around to shows! I was also able to get this really cheap compared to it's competition. There's even an Ampero gig bag that you can purchase separately that is fantastic. Cheers!Barak B.

I have been VERY impressed with the Hotone Ampero so far. I have no idea how they were able to create such an amazing product for such an unbelievable price. It's like a Helix LT shrunken down for about 1/5 of the price and it has the same dual DSP SHARC chips as Helix! The unboxing is similar to an Apple product. Build quality seems very solid. There are tons of AMPS, EFFECTS, and CAB Sims in here! And so far, they all sound great. I've only been through a small % of all this stuff. But I can't wait to see what I can do with it. P.S. I had a great experience with Sam Ash! I was able to negotiate a better deal which made things even better! I usually use mics, but this unit sounds good run directly into the mixing board thanks to the better than average amp/cab emulators. The overdrive/distortion and chorus algorithms are particularly noteworthy, and the reverb and delays are also more than adequate. Definitely one of the best overall multi-effects pedals I've used, especially in a direct to board capacity. The interface is easy enough to operate, the menus intuitive and , again, the sound is really good. -Better than most, actually.DAVID

I have been buying and selling multi effects for many years. I loved them all, even the silly ones such as the RP50, 505, ME30..too many. I guess my favorites were the Korg AX3000G(which I thought was ahead of its time) and the Digitech RP500(awesome reverbs, mods and filters),and even some Pods for their amp sims too. Yes yes.. they all had their short comings in different avenues.. Boss reliability is were a part of Ny early playing days since the 80s..and to this day, I use Boss single pedals almost exclusively as my main rig. I just love the simplicity of their individual pedals and this unit is the only one that comes close in terms of the logic of its settings. I love KNOBS, and the ME80 has plenty to go around with. SIMPLICITY is the key . No more scrolling up n down a screen on the floor which I can hardly see. Now is the ME80 the best sounding multi-effect out there? No sir! With all the current technologies which can produce units such as The Kemper, Fractals, Boss GT1000, and other high res IR capable units from Zoom and Line 6(including some very capable Chinese newcomers), the ME80 can be seen as kind of outdated to some, The ME80 is certainly not what the top guns use these days, especially when occupying an arena concert stages I'm sure(but I bet they still use one or two boss pedals in their rig lol)..Also, Let's not forget that the ME80 initial introduction day to the world was just about eight years ago.. shall we? But guess what, it's still alive and kicking! And that is exactly why you still see it here for sake in 2022 ar least until Boss comes out with some new monster that can handle the GT1000 chipsets and adding more KNOBS to its chassis. The ME80 is gorgeous, it sounds good, and it has a personality. It also has more to offer than its predecessors such as the ME50/70..I mean, the addition of a separate footswitch for reverb,EQ and a simple patch recall?? I don't want to program guitar effects. I don't want to read cheesy names for effects that I can't immediately recognize or understand. The young people like that stuff but I am old and old school. The ME-80 gives me my old stomp boxes but grouped on a modern platform. It is basically foot pedal controlled with a very nice expression pedal and 8 on-off pedals. The foot pedals work flawlessly. But the thing that makes this unit awesome is the knobs. You can turn a knob, set a value and get instant feedback on what you did and look at it anytime to see what it is set at. If you know stomp boxes then you know exactly how this thing works. It has by my estimation about $4K worth of stomp box effects and amp emulations. Whether you want an old Tube Screamer or a Big Muff Fuzz. This thing has it. And it has many new stomp box effects like the amazing Tera Echo, Harmonist, Freeze and a Looper. It has just about every effect you could want and you can play multiple effects at the same time. As far as I am concerned this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And I am an original POD user. I still plug into the POD now and then. But the POD is history. The ME-80 is what I like today. I even commissioned a guy to build me an angled stand to boost up the knobs and pedal to make it easier for me to dial in changes. I had it painted orange to match my Orange Crush 35RT amp where I port the ME-80 output. Lastly, if you insist on being a programmer, they let you do that as well and offer a ton of presets online. You can hook up by USB to your computer and program away. Brilliant. The one down side… you have to buy an AC/DC adaptor for $30 or use up a lot of batteries. Well since I figure that I saved over $3,600 compared to the cost of all these effects bought stand-alone, I happily coughed up the $30.Brianne

Just buy it already! At the current price it's a no-brainer. I'm using this to process synthesizers and always find an effect that suits the synth patch that I'm using at that moment. I just leave it in the signal path – it's that good! The Good: great effects and fairly friendly user interface. The Bad: limited memory locations for effects configurations, and a slight bit of digital noise in the output. Also, used at line-level, you can get some distortion if you drive the input too hard. But I would definitely buy it again.Andrew

I used a Binary MOD on my traditional pedalboard for over a year before switching to a multieffect. They Binary MOD gives you roughly a dozen different modulation effects in a single box, so it's the kind of pedal you can mount to your pedalboard and keep it small–unless you are into experimental music and need multiple modulations running at the same time. (More power to you.) In the cover band I was playing in at the time, I stored presets for phaser, chorus, tremolo, and univibe and found them to sound great with all the needed parameters adjustable by glowing knobs. (I love the LED knobs on dark stages. Thanks, Hotone!) The only effect I found useless is the ring modulator; not very musical at all. I ran this pedal in my Marshall DSL20HR's effects loop with a delay pedal right after it in the signal path. Later, when I'd get frustrated programming my multieffect, I would miss the Binary MOD because I had all the effects I needed and could quickly dial in my settings on the fly. This pedal is very durable, surprisingly heavy for its size. One complaint: The power socket is right below the USB port, which, depending on the power and USB cables you're using, is problematic. Luckily, I only had to update my firmware once, but the plugs were pushing on each other, causing both the USB and power ports to flex.BorekT

The enclosure is built solid, and switches and knobs seem good quality. The effects sound fairly good, but dont all operate in true mono. The phase 90 model, for example, puts out one half of the stereo signal rather than actual mono. This results in an uneven sweep which is very fast at the top of the range, and has an irregularly long time before the sweep comes back up. I contacted Hotone and sent them a video, they said it was working properly. Maybe the pedal would sound fine in stereo, but in mono its painful. Ill be looking for something else.2014beagl

I'm soon going to post a youtube review about the pedal. As you can see from the pic I have some of the pedals the Xtomp models. Xotic bb-preamp, rc booster, Super overdrive, and a few more out of site. I A/B tested them and in some cases the 2 were undistinguishable. Generally the difference are in the output level, noise level, 1 case a slight difference in the mids, but they captured the essence of the pedals they modelled very well. What the Xtomp gives you is the ability to have many different sounds at your fingertips. A variety of booster, overdrives, distortions, that all sounds very different from each other. You can stack pedals in front of it and behind it very well. This is a 5 star pedaldscataglini

The effects and amp models are realistic. The sound is great. It stacks super well, I use an overdrive in front of it, makes the amp models come to life. Sound good either way! You can get cab sims on most amp models on the stereo unit by using the right (bottom) in.output jacks. I need more, because the sounds are awesome. Responsive. Hotone's modelling system is the best I've ever heard. The price, service, and speedy delivery were also great! I bought this to explore new sounds without the individual cost of buying unique pedals. Once I found what I was looking for I went out and got those to build my chain, The unit sounds great and could absolutely be used as a permanent part of your board if you choose. I was using a tube screamer to boost the mid range frequency and get a djent sound with the standard distortion from my head. This pedal is a much better way to get the sound. Pretty cheap price. I purchased this one pedal to be all the pedals I don't want to buy as single units. I have an extensive pedal collection but I have grown tired of hauling around a pedal board filled with effect units I only use every now and then. I decided that a good way to remedy that would be to add a pedal that could function as simple delay, reverb, boost, and modulation. I have greatly reduced the amount of pedals on my board thanks to this unit. The weakness of the VOX Stomplab IG is in the distortion/overdrive/amp selection. I didn't find any that I found pleasing to my ears but I didn't expect to. I did find a few low gain overdrives that were acceptable but nothing I loved. I intended to keep my overdrive and distortion pedals my board anyway, so I wasn't worried about it. The compressor is solid, but a bit noisy. The delays and reverbs are quite good and I consider those alone, worth the price tag. my pedal board is now just a few choice pedals and the VOX stomplab IG serving as single and multi effect pedal. I am trying really hard to like this. With regards to the preset effects, some 9fnthe sound pretty good. But some of them, it's like they are non existent or pretty horrible sounding. The other issue is you are supposed to bypass the effects. But of you do, your volume reduces so significantly that I either have to turn up the volume on the amp, or disconnect this thing all together and connect directly to amp. The last issue is that creating your own defects is pretty hard to understand. The instructions are not very helpful and it is pretty hard to understand the abbreviations used on the box to figure out what effect you are working with. Oh btw, you have to hold the power button down for a couple of second for it to turn on. If you don't it will seem it is not working. So, this thing is not horrible, but the verdict is out as to whether it is something that will end up collecting dust in a cornerJohn, G

The Zoom G1on multi-effects/modeling stompbox is a surprisingly capable device that's made all the more compelling a value for its ability to run for hours on 4 AA batteries. It has its limitations, of course, but you can find it used or refurbished all over eBay for around $50 shipped – and that's a steal by any yardstick! To begin with, the 2.0 BIOS update gives you 100 factory patches to start with. As with most multi-effects/modeling devices, many of these are near-duplicates and/or near-useless for most purposes – but you can freely modify to or completely replace them with custom patches that better suit your needs with a littel effort. Here's where a free, third-party patch librarian called zoomlib is nearly indispensible. It's available for Windows or Mac computers, and it allows you to backup patches, change their order, add multiple copies of the same patch and so forth. Just search for zoomlib and it'll show up in the top few results in any search engine (eBay frowns on external links in these reviews, or I'd just post it here). That last capability – putting multiple copies of the same patch in consecutive slots is the key to getting the most out of the G1on and its slightly-bigger brother the G1Xon (which features an expression pedal, but is otherwise the same device). Both pedals have zero in the way of real-time control over parameters like distortion, echo, modulation (chorus, flange, etc.). The way to deal with that is to set up consecutively-numbered patches that are identical to begin with. Then add a distortion, for instance, to the second iteration, so that, when you're actually using the device, you can, in effect, kick in distortion without otherwise altering your sound simply by stomping the UP footswitch, then kick it off at the end of your solo by stomping the DOWN switch. For a different basic patch, do the same kind of thing to add gain or effects to it – and so on. Editing patches is kind of a pain. You HAVE to do it via the pedal's menus, because there's no patch editing software available for these guys (zoomlib is strictly limited to backing up, re-ordering, and adding already-edited patches). You start with an amp/speaker model, then add effects or sound-shaping modules to the chain. (Note that some effects are CPU-intensive, which limits how many you can have in a single chain before the device hits a wall. It will, however, tell you when you try to exceed its processing power – and refuse to let you add that effect, etc. to the current patch's chain.) Each amp model and device has controls for things like gain, depth, tone, etc. Which controls are avaiable depends on the device that's being modeled (so, for instance, the OD-250 model has only tone and drive, whereas the Rat model has 3 other dials to play with). You can usually get away with up to 4 devices (including the amp/speaker model you start with) in a chain, but 5 is really pushing it. To use zoomlib (or to upgrade the BIOS), you'll need a USB 2.0 male to USB-mini female cable, which is not included. Nor is an external power supply (I recommend the Snark for that. It's inexpensive, very quiet, and has enough power to run three stompboxes on a daisy-chain cable.) 4 AA batteries ARE included, which is a nice extra. And the fact that these guys will run on batteries for 8 hours or so is really nice, because that means you don't have to drag along an AC adapter to lose or break. (These units will also run off of USB power from your laptop or desktop computer, so there's that, too.) Note that you have to plug a 1/" cable into the input to turn the unit on. The 1/4" output jack – which is confgurable for either line- or instrument-level output – doubles as a stereo headphone jack, as well (and it's auto-sensing, so you don't have to do any special configuration just to use it as a headphone amplifier). Make sure you adjust the system settings for alkaline or rechargeable Li-ON batteries, depending on which you use (the unit comes with 4 alkaline AA's). This is a great little stick-it-in-your-bag-and-go device for jams, although you could actually use it for performances, as long as you put some planning into setting up and sequencing your patches ahead of time. It is NOT as capable or as faithful at modeling as something like a Line 6 POD-HD, or a Digitech RP1000 – but it's just a fraction of the cost of those pedals, so you really can't complain about its limitations in comparison to those excellent, professional-quality, EXPENSIVE devices. I'm very happy with mine. Chances are, if you buy one knowing its limitations in advance, you will be just as happy with yours …thomst

I bought this pedal primarily as a looper and reverb for the end of my signal chain, and it fulfills those functions quite well. The reverbs sound really solid compared to the reverb on my Fender Deluxe, and the looper has most (not all) of the features I wanted: dedicated stop/start pedal, visual feedback for loop progress, and 30 second loop time, which is plenty. It does not, however, save loops, which would have been really nice.Another nice surprise is that the drum samples included are excellent. However, they interact oddly with the looper. Normally, the looper activates the moment you press the start pedal, but when you have a drum track going, you have to do wait for a count in before you start your loop. I don't really understand why it works this way.So that was the good. The bad is that half the presets are incredibly loud and add a horrific shrieking/feedback noise when you switch to them. I'm honestly afraid of scrolling through everything and it's prevented me from exploring a lot of the other features the pedal offers.The other is that the controls are a bit difficult to use and overly complicated.Anyway, a mixed bag. Good looper UI, with decent sound quality with great reverb effects and a bunch of usable drum tracks seem like an excellent value for $60, but i find the interface difficult to use and the preset "profiles" unusable and downright earsplitting at times.Daniel

This is my first guitar processor. I really wanted something that I could try out different things like the flanger and the reverb and the phaser etc without having to invest in a bunch of different pedals. This thing is awesome. It comes with a bushel of pre mades which you can alter or build your own. Only downside is there is no true bypass, you have to build an empty setting and name it bypass otherwise it is always on. It is older technology but oh what fun and so many things you can do and so many luscious tones. It's the tones man that will get you. The tones man. Get 1while you can. I was looking for a good multi-effects pedal option and found this Flamma FM10. It's loaded with a bunch of different amp models and effects. I was able to dial and EQ everything. The expression pedal can also be put to use as a volume pedal, wah, gain control, and several other things. I was able to create several personal patches and have used them all in live settings. They sounded great. Which means a lot coming from me because I am EXTREMELY picky about gear and tone. Other benefits are that it functions as an audio interface, it has stereo outs, a headphone out, and aux in. It fits in a backpack and a gig bag. Depending on where the show is and how a musician needs to get there, this effects unit is going to travel well in all circumstances. Seems like a really great option for any musician (especially traveling musicians) who need a small multi-effects unit. I like it and I'm going to be using this quite often moving forward.Paul

Disappointed, totally. I espected more for the cost. 50 dollars for a multi-preset pedal wich sounds the same all presets (as a bad funtioning spring reverb). I ve had many… Many- I insist – reverbs (hof 1, hof 2, arena, verbzilla, supernatural, rv6) and this one have been the worst. Maybe you should invest a little more money and get a nux or donner (those havent let me down). Havent mention the fact this pedal affect painfully the dry signal too much, even at low mix levels. Stay away, bad and expensive. Dont give credit to demos wich are posted around.tfperaltav

The product itself is incredible!!! Absolutely fantastic light show in one unit! The only problem I have is that the so called user manual was a spec sheet and had no instructions on how to actually operate the unit. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone but make sure you have the time to figure out what the display is saying and how to go through the menu list to make it perform the different functions it's capable of.chrisnew919

I bought this unit to replace a Line 6 Helix LT after the Helix started "freezing" randomly. The Ampero is one tenth the size and weight of the Helix and sounds just as good.Peter G

Amazing pedal, even the presets are great, just go watch the demo vids of the presets, some of the best on multi-effect pedals. I personally love the compact size, yet it has a lot of connectivity, midi too. As I have owned the previous version, this new version is amazing, better tones, multi chain variations, global EQ is amazing. I personally didn't need a volume pedal on the unit, so sans pedal is good. I could go on all day, suffice to say that the Ampero II is a great upgrade, worth it in every wayShark Jerky
