Reviews:
Outstanding value in this Ibanez guitar. First off, it's beautiful to look at it. Blue or the black, you can't go wrong. They are both attractive (I bought the black one). Neck is smooth as butter. Sounds great plugged into my little Blackstar amp and just as good unplugged. The gear seems like something you'd find on a higher priced guitar. The tuners and EQ are top notch. Really couldn't be happier with the guitar, the price and the service from AMS. They promised 2 day shipping and they delivered.Eric
Sound: I changed the settings as I always do when purchasing a guitar, and if course had to retune until the string memory was suffice. I haven't had to retune it since (after 3 weeks … Of course some minor tuning was needed). The eq helped get more low end that I desired. Features: I like the truss rod feature, I changed the tuners to some more appealing Gibson deluxe tuners. The frets needed a little filing but minor tweaks and adjustments are almost always necessary to obtain desired playability. Most (inexperienced) People want straight out of the box perfection, I suggest bringing any new guitar to someone that knows what they're doing and tell them what you want. My brother worked for Gibson custom shop as a guitar tech and let me know that most companies rely on quantity and not so much perfecting every guitar as everyone's idea of perfect is different. Overall: Tweek it or let someone that knows what they're doing tweek it … That includes all guitar purchasesMark

Overall: I purchased this guitar in February and it arrived unplayable. I was unable to review for this reason. Due to living in a remote location and being disabled it was to dificult to exchange, however, zZounds was very prompt at trying to help me return it. Unfortunately my caregiver had to throw away all the packaging. So my fault I couldn't return. I have purchased many ibanez guitars and this was the first time I had a problem. However, it's pretty obvious ibanez knew about this when sending the guitar to zZounds. So a little disappointed. So I'm unable to try this guitar, however, zZounds was very prompt and the customer service was great. I just can't return it and that's my fault. I would still recommend this guitar and zZounds.Kenneth
Beautiful guitar and sounds great. Completely satisfied with my purchase.roerescue2
Looked good online but like someone else said it's like a toy I should have listened. I was told since I didn't like it I would have to pay return shipping and ups quoted me eighty five so I called guitar center and they said I could return it there. I did and they were very nice and it went back on my cardDavy E

Reviews:
I needed a guitar in the 500-600 euro bracket that I can take everywhere including the street (busking), lending out to fellow musicians etc. Was looking at eastmans ed1 and ed2, this one and recording king 318. All are solid offerings in this price range. The eastmans had a good sound, but it was one sound not the complexed sound (low end plus a mid or top) I wanted. I took a chance guided by the youtube reviews that is avallable and the fact this this has a wide nut. It sure has a complexed sound. JP Cournier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tY0HWjrZS0&t=818s plus one of andertons videos made me decide on the alvarez The top is already yellowish and the mahogany is stunning. It did take litle setup ( to much neckbow) and I'm not finished yet. I do this slowly and may lower the strings at the nut to. I can't rate the durability after such a short time. Nor can I judge the LR Baggs vtc after such a short time. Didn't like my taylor es2. My k&k passive has been ok. it sounds ok strumming so far. Have no idea if it sounds like bluegrass guitar. I'm not into that. It sounds good 😀Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Somebody did their job poorly. After few times playin i have notice that neck is concave bent. Guitar has dried out big time and was not stored properly, in warehous and obviously when it was shipped. Also chips from drilling pin holes was not removed so they drop inside of the guitar body and make rumble noise when you pick up guitar and play it. Frets need to be dressed and re-crowned, and overall set up is a must. Action is way to high from factory and if anyone is looking to buy this model please double check with the seller what is the condition of the guitar. I had to take my guitar to the lutier for him to make best of the situation, and and we will see the end result.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

There are hundreds of reviews on this guitar, of course some good and some bad. The good reviews (4-5 stars) far out number the rest. Although I’ve read some really, really bad ones. I suppose every guitar maker churns out a turd on occasion when mass producing affordable beginner (read inexpensive) guitars.
I can only tell you about my particular guitar.
It is fantastic, it’s beautiful, sounds amazing (plugged in and acoustic), plays amazingly well, stays in tune, the tuners are smooth and work as you would expect on a much more expensive guitar. The neck is perfect, the action is great (Martin MA540 Authentic Acoustic Light strings 0.054-0.012). I haven’t a single complaint I can’t say whether the quality has gone up or down in the last few years. Mine is an earlier production model about 10 years old. They’re relatively common , You can find a nice used one locally in most cities for under $150. That way you can play and give it a thorough inspection before you buy it. Check your local Guitar Center, try it, return it if you don’t like it, my bet is you will love it.Larry Daniels

I usually don't leave negative reviews. This guitar is beautiful, it sounds amazing. However, I just can't believe that guitar center would let this be shipped. The neck seems fine but every fret divider is razor sharp. It's so uncomfortable that I have quit playing it. Living in a small town it's very expensive to return stuff, so I guess it will just sit for now. To guitar centers credit, I have shopped there for many years and never been disappointed. But gee guys, why wouldn't you be checking this stuff? If I picked it off your wall I would never buy it unless you fixed it for me. Sorry but this sucksJohn
Tried out two of these at the local store looking for a first guitar for my son. Both sounded pretty good for the price point, but both had problems with the neck and really terrible frets. Terrible like not safe for children or unsuspecting adults – they both had sharp edges sticking out the whole length of the neck. Between that, some minor string buzz, a crazy high 9th fret on one, and iffy intonation on the other, it just didn't seem worth getting either of them. What's the point of getting a low priced guitar if you have to spend $100+ getting it worked over to make it playable? I suspect that the neck binding makes it difficult for the factory to really get the frets properly dressed and still pass cosmetic inspection. It may be I just had the bad luck to find the two worst examples of this model in the same store, but I suggest you move up notch in price range and you will be happier with what you get.triple.ratrider

Reviews:
I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, and I've owned many over the decades. However, when my son was born, I hung up my gig bag, sold off most of my equipment, and focused on raising a fine young man. He's now 12, has taken an interest in singing, and for being self taught, he's pretty good. I felt this was the perfect father/son bonding activity, so I purchased this beautiful new Taylor 214ce Plus Grand Auditorium so he and I could collaborate on songs together. I've owned this guitar for just over a week now, and I couldn't be happier. It's been more than a decade since I've owned an acoustic guitar, but having played for so many years, I've developed a taste for quality instruments, so a cheaply made guitar simply wasn't going to do. I must say, this Taylor 214ce Plus plays like butter. Right out of the included Taylor quality made case, this instrument plays and sounds like a fine instrument should. A slight bit of stretching and break-in on the new strings, and it plays and sounds amazing both unplugged and plugged into my amp. I love the location and quality feel of the controls. You can really dial in the perfect balanced tone. The action on this guitar is absolutely perfect and so easy on the fingers, which I really appreciate since I'm building back those finger calluses from scratch. The action is just as easy on the 12th fret as it is on the 2nd fret. The tone of this guitar is so bright, rich and full bodied that it truly delivers that "WOW" factor when you hear it for the first time. What's more, it looks every bit as amazing as it feels and sounds. The high gloss finish is absolutely beautiful. I looked this instrument over in every detail, and I can't find a single flaw anywhere. It's as if someone really took great pride in their work and took their time to make certain they were turning out perfection. I've never before seen such quality from a mass produced instrument. I'm about to have both of my knees replaced in a couple of weeks, so it looks like I'll be laid up for the better part of the summer. I figured what better way to spend my time than getting my guitar chops back up to par; and what a pleasure it's going to be doing so on this beautiful sounding work of art. In writing this review I almost wish I could supply you with some CONS, to at least make the review seem less sappy, but I honestly can't find a single downside to this instrument. NOT ONE! Lastly I am also very grateful to American Musical Supply for providing payment options for those of us on a budget. They've allowed me to own such a quality instrument, when given the current economic climate, I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. So, kudos to Taylor for making such amazing instruments, and to AMS for making them available for every budget.Ryan L (Queen Creek, Arizona)
I’m not the biggest acoustic player in the world, but I have tried quite a few out over the years and I find this to be very nice for the price. Nice even sound, could use a little more bass but plugged in it sounds even better. Action is a touch high for me, but I guess that can be remedied. I love the gig bag it comes in, very sturdy! I prefer it to a hard case. For how I play, I lean more towards Taylors, so maybe I’m a bit biased but I really like this guitar.Joey
My first Taylor guitar. Still learning to play. I had a Martin OMC-X1E and checked out some guitars. I tried out the Taylor 214CE Plus and there was no turning back. Much easier to play bar chords than the Martin. Sounds bright and crisp. Very nice resonance. Beautiful guitar all around. My experience at Sam Ash was top notch. They helped with my requests 100%. Will return for future purchases.Lucky

Reviews:
I purchased this guitar last year after seeing it in the "Open Box" listings. The photos were not clear but it was freight damaged in several places on the top and sides. BIG cracks. MF sold it me at cost. My guitar tech repaired the cracks which took a couple of weeks but didn't charge much for the repairs. When I finally played it after it was set up it was AMAZING. Even at the regular price point it's a steal. Blows Martins right off the stage. If buying it, like any other instrument, it needs to be professionally set up for it to play right and sound good. My tech found no other issues other than the freight damage. He agrees with me that it's an amazing instrument. If need be I would buy another without any hesitation.Sid
I plat solo with vocals in concerts, at church both solo and with a band, at sing-alongs, song-writing, jamming, Just about everywhere with and without amplification and sound modelling. I live in Pennsylvania quite near to a famous well established major acoustic guitar manufacturer. Most of my friends own guitars of that brand. But when they play my Artwood guitars they look at their CFMs with a jaundiced eye. Compared to their "auditorium" size X models my grand concert size Artwoods are equal to and in most cases superior to theirs. Both have solid sitka spruce tops chrome tuners and Fishman electronics. Mine have rosewood fretboards and bridges; theirs are made out of black plasticized paper materials called richlite and coriian. Mine have bone nuts and saddles and theirs have plastic ones. Mine have laminated mahogany WOOD back and sides; theirs have some kind of synthetic laminate material (Formica perhaps?). Mine have black and ivory perfling with mock tortoise shell bindings; theirs are unbound. Theirs were made in Mexico, where making quality stringed instruments is a 500 year long tradition; mine were made in China where quality stringed instruments have been made continuously for over three thousand years. Their guitars play well and sound good. Mine play and sound even better and cost hundreds less. QUESTION: Why pay extra Benjamins just for a name?Cat
I am a beginner (able to play only a few chords at this point). I find this guitar fairly easy to play. The neck feels good in the hand and the matte finish makes it easy to slide the fretting on the neck. The craftsmanship is very good. My only complaint is that one side of the back on my guitar is noticeably darker than the other (which is why I deducted one star). The finish looks and feels almost like smoothly sanded raw wood. Don't buy this guitar if you are wanting something flashy. Overall, I think it is a good value.Dennis

this thing is garbage. plastic strings. plastic feel to the neck. plastic feel to the body. whilst turning a tuning peg just to tighten a string, the string popped off the tuning peg. moved to the B string, same thing. i had no delusions that this was some master piece i would consider a steal, mind you. but i did hope to at least move away from the crappy fake guitars for infants and in some way hand my 5 year old a cheaper starter guitar to plant the seeds of a lifelong hobby. this is not the one. go to Guitar Center and fork out $100 and get 1/4 or 1/2 size guitar if you are serious. this is just a waste of money and time. what a sad disappointmentJ

Reviews:
Loved the look, price, sound, and feel of this guitar. Tried it out in the store and was ready to buy the floor model, but luckily I asked for a 9V battery to test the electronics at the counter. Oddly the battery port fits fine into the guitar when empty, but the moment you put a battery in it it will not stay shut and pops open rendering your electronics useless. Me and the sales rep at the front figured this was had to be a fluke and he ordered a new one to be delivered to my house. Four days later it arrived. I played it for about an hour out of the box without issue (set up was great, sounded great acoustic) and then I decied to check the electronics. Sure enough, the exact same issue occured when I tried to fit a 9V in the battery port. When a battery was actually in it, it would not stay shut. No tuner, no electronics. Ten minutes later I was back at my local GC. The tech inspected it an came to the same conclusion as I did after trying 5 different brand batteries to see if that made a difference- it's defective. He recommended I return it and try another product. In short it plays nice, sounds nice, and looks nice but if it happened on 2 guitars it has to be happening on more of them. I'm sure you could duck tape it or find a way to keep it closed but this should not be an issue on a $350+ guitar. 3 stars.Ryan

Reviews:
Very impressed with this guitar. Awesome build quality. Set up perfectly out of the box. Plays great, very rich, balanced and full sound for a parlor guitar. The pickup is awesome for dirty blues, it sounds great with overdrive or fuzz but it can also stay clean with the right pick attack and amp settings. Much more interesting and dynamic tone than a typical acoustic preamp/pickup or piezo. The construction, fret work, and finish are all flawless. Stays in tune. I would recommend this guitar to anyone. This is my first Gretsch and now I want more. The website said made in China but my guitar is made in Indonesia 🙂Adam, B
I have been wanting to buy a Gretsch for a couple of years, so did lots of research and looked at various dealers. Delighted with my purchase from PMT. The guitar has a lovely sound without the need for using the quality pick up which is also a lovely unique feature of this model. Since been to their local shop ( Cardiff) and purchased a cover bag – again great value and quality as is the guitarJeff L.
Just got the guitar yesterday, sat with it for about 40 minutes before work.I haven't plugged it in yet, ao I can't comment on the pick-up. For a $300 price tag, I'm blown away with the quality of this guitar. It plays very nicely, comfortable neck, sounds great as an acoustic, well set up out of the box. There are a couple of dull spots on the G string– I may take it to my local guitar guy to make adjustments; but, then again, I may not bother because they're barely noticeable and may work themselves out as the guitar ages/settles in. Just thought I mention it in case someone's expecting it to compare with a $3,000 Gibson. This is a budget guitar, for sure, but it's a GREAT budget guitar– very playable with a very good acoustic sound. Highly recommend.Walter R.
12. Alvarez Ag60-8ceshb Artist Grand Auditorium 8-String Shadowburst

Product Details:
The sound of a 12-string is wonderful and unmistakable, but 12-strings on a neck can make it somewhat challenging for some players. there is a lot of tension and the nut width is generally wider. – introducing the alvarez 8-string, 12 string shimmer with less tension and a standard width neck and nut. – alvarez doubles up on the g (3rd) and d (4th) strings and it's quite amazing how much 12 string shimmer you get from just adding these two octaves. it also makes this guitar great fun for lots of exploration and the octave tones when fingerpicking add a little extra dimension and charm. – the ag 8-string has a superbly open and resonant voicing and instant response. it's a beautiful looking guitar with a flawless deep shine, thin poly shadowburst finish, north american sitka spruce top and fitted with the fantastic lr baggs stage – pro eq and element pick up. – after 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes, and materials is still at the …

Reviews:
I have been playing for 36 years and own many nice high end guitars. I live in Switzerland and travel back to California usually twice a year to see friends and family. It's getting more strict traveling with a guitar and the airlines are starting to make you check in guitars. No longer allowed to carry on my instrument and not trusting airlines with my irreplaceable babies I decided to buy a cheap guitar for when I'm in America and bought one at guitar center. I already have a couple of amplifiers and microphones here so I can tell u this thing sounds like a much more expensive guitar either plugged in or acoustically. Maybe I got lucky but the model I bought has great action and not a single fret buzzes. This is a really nice sounding guitar and easy to play. The neck is on the fat side but the action is really low so it's great for my small hands. It's also beautiful. My only problem is I'm liking it so much that I'm tempted to take it back to Switzerland as my camping guitar now. Best guitar I played for the price tag by far. We will see how it holds up over time but I easily recommend it to others.Ha ha
I am a beginner so I purchased a guitar that looks awesome, sounded good to my untrained ear and was inexpensive. But I have some issues with it. First, every peg as broken and had to be punched out and replaced which was multiple trips back to the store which isn't close for me. It is never in tune. I tune it and play a few chords and then retune it. The string adjusters (not sure if that their technical term) are not snug and move around a bit, I notice this real bad when replacing strings. I get a lot of buzzing, my instructor does when he plays it. All that and my biggest problem is the graphic on mine is nothing close to the graphic see in pictures. My graphic is a grainy, obvious graphic and doesn't have any of the cool swirls as seen in the pictures. I like the feel and the glossy texture. Now that I have taken a few lessons I really would like to return this guitar.Big B
I bought this guitar as a novice, and not having a well developed ear, I thought it was pretty good. As my ear developed over the years, I've come to the conclusion that this guitar is mediocre. The way the bass is projected is very weak, and the highs are way too dominant. Along with that, it just doesn't have the depth many high quality guitars, and even some beginner guitars, such as the Yamaha F335 have. I'd recommend buying this guitar for three criteria: for beginners, for looks, and for the acoustic-electric feature. The intonation does get a little off too, especially when getting to the higher frets. The neck however earned this guitar a star though, because it fits me well, and that's my preference. I've had other people say opposite about the neck of this guitar, so the neck is really up to you to decide if you like it or not. All in all, I've had many hours of fun with this guitar, but don't expect to have a life changing guitar in your hands. The Archive Master

Reviews:
Although the style and look of the guitar is amazing, along with all of the accessories, the biggest issue is the making of the guitar. The strings placement above the neck and along the guitar is too high up. It needs to sit parallel to the whole neck. It rises higher near the body and slowly lowers along the neck. Not a big issue if you know how to play the guitar, but for a beginner and for quality sound, the strings need to be hovering directly parallel along the whole guitar.Helaman H.
My granddaughter is 7yrs old. I wanted to do something different for Christmas this year, so I purchased a acoustic guitar. I’m thinking 30inches will be a nice size for her. When I received it the box was small and without taking it out the box I knew it wasn’t the size I thought it was going to be! I made the online purchased but I wanted to return it in store, which I did with the electronic receipt! APPARENTLY SOMETHING WENT WRONG! The GUITAR WAS SENT BACK TO ME! Target sucks at RETURNS only to have them sent back to you! UghSexyAries2
Not sure why there are so many 5 star reviews on this product, because it is not a good guitar. I bought it for my daughter to learn on and it will not stay in tune no matter what you do. I even tried changing the strings on it and it just refuses to stay in tune. I guess if you're just looking to get your kid used to holding a guitar and pressing the strings it is ok for that, but I would recommend spending a little more money on something decent that your kid can learn on. I am a guitar player and I have the full sized guitar from BCP and it is an excellent value for what you get, but this one just falls flat. No pun intended. 🙂Andrew

In my opinion, this is one of the best guitars for the money you can get. As a smaller guitar, this doesn't have the booming sound of a dreadnaught, but sounds great to my ears. The action was perfect right out of the box, and it has a great feel. This also has a built in tuner and electronics, which make it an ever better buy for the money. Great guitar for a beginner or advanced player. I would definately buy this one again!Jeff
This is a great little guitar for under $200. No frills, lightweight but clean construction, great sound, great action right out of the box. Needed a lightweight beat around guitar, got this on a deal of the day promotion, and might use it for more than just casual play. Definitely recommend.DT
I own 10 MARTIN GUITARS. I have been playing for over 50 years. The idea of a open pore guitar intrigued me so I turned to this grand concert Ibanez because of this chineaze company who has a long an good reputation for excellence. It plays wonderful. The only complaint I have is with the vendor. I went in to pick it up and had to do my own set up. They made no attempt to make sure the guitar was perfect. They left it to me. The in store luthier was not involved in any way and the staff was to busy to care.bill
