Reviews:
I am a home use player and wanted to run this in the effects loop of my 40 watt tube amp to get my preamp crunch without blowing out my windows. I quickly noted that the response was smooth and just what i wanted except that as i neared the full heel position to get the volume i wanted, i was getting some very loud popping from my amp which i worried might blow a speaker. I read online that other Ernie Ball vp owners had noted that there were loose solder contacts on the pot. I took a look and sure enough, one of the solder lugs was loose on mine too. The wire was soldered just fine but the lug was loosely crimped to the little board on the pot. I took the pedal apart pulled the pot out, crimped the solder lug better put it back together (which was a real pain to get the string wrapped correctly and back on the spring). With the pedal back together, it worked great and gave me exactly what i wanted with no popping. This is a great product but could really benefit from some better quality control.Jack
This volume pedal has a great, even volume swell. The addition of gain controls makes the volume pedal even more useful, however. When I'm playing bass, I sometimes want to increase volume for certain passages, but without the sudden change in tone that comes from an overdrive or boost pedal. This does that (I use a few different class D amps). Additionally, this allows me to have greater flexibility with my volume without needing to fiddle with my amp or bass' volume knobs while playing. On guitar, this can act as a nice, subtle boost that can push gain-ier amps (I use an Orange) into some sweet saturation. Great pedal.Derek P

Reviews:
I could spend all day yapping about this pedal…In my travels i've tried countless pedals, but got tired of having 'too many' pedals. The weight, the time it took to hook it all up. I also busk, or play where electricity isn't available, and wanted a setup where i could make one trip with everything, and keep the weight down. I've always been a fan of ZOOM products, so trying out the Multistomp series was a no-brainer for me. The 50G met all my requirements, and exceed them all after i got one and started using it. Tones that are as good as any higher priced pedal, the versatility is second to none, and the price is killer for what this pedal can do. I would say the the Bluetooth version was my favorite, then the 70CDR, then the 50G, with the 50G's new 3.0 update, the 50 G is now my favorite pedal…period. The 50G started with maybe 50 patches, now it has 172, and best of all it has the Exciter patch, which to me is required on any pedal board. All i can suggest is watch the countless demo videos of this pedal. I would recommend this pedal for any level of guitarist, i would also recommend the MS-70CDR, watch the demo videos of the 70-CDR vs Strymons…amazing I cant say enough good things about the 50G, i believe it's near the perfect all around pedal. The Multistomp series are easily, in my opinion, the best bang for the buck pedals madeLocorogue
The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.Sean
I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes. B&H had the best deal available and as always they provide excellent service. Thank you B&H. I'll Be Back, lolThomas G
3. Isp Technologies – Decimator G-String Pedal Ii Noise Reduction

Product Details:
This pedal follows the signal directly from the guitar, allowing you to switch from clean to high gain sound without changing the threshold setting. its new design allows you to plug your pedal into an effects loop or after your high gain pedal or preamp. thanks to a mini-jack you can chain 2 decimator pedals (whether ii or ii g string) to obtain 2 noise reduction channels or for a stereo system. this connection allows each pedal to directly follow the instrument like the brand's rack versions. the decimator g string provides a fully independent decimator noise reduction channel that can be inserted into an effects loop in series or after a preamp section, the advantage being that the decimator's level meters will follow the signal. directly. with the g string pedal you can adjust the threshold of the reducer and whatever the noise level the decimator will follow it without any problem. thanks to its complete transparency, you won't have to worry about the threshold being too high or having to turn off the decimator when you go from a high gain guitar sound to a clear sound. it offers an input to connect a guitar directly and a buffer output that can be plugged directly into your amp, as well as a second processed audio output as well. you can connect other pedals between the output of the decimator and the input of your amp, this allows the g string to remove any unwanted noise you may have, even with overdrive pedals located before your amp.

Reviews:
The coolest noise reduction effect on the market. Allows only one handle to achieve optimal noise reduction. The presence of the loop makes it even more versatile. The only minus is weight, but the pedal is so strong that you can only break it with a tank. The best noise reduction pedal for life in your pedal board. The pedal is 100% working out its price.

Reviews:
Look… this pedal is great. Even without the “fat” switch on it still has the kind of bottom end that most overdrives and distortions lack which makes it a great crossover pedal between guitar, bass, double bass, vocals, a contact mic’d plate of nachos or ukulele. But the real reason I bought this pedal was anti psychotic medication and it has the same name as my cat. Zeus is a ginger bengal x ragdoll. He’s eight years old and exceptionally funny and weird. You never know if you’re getting a nose boomp or a face bite. Though he’s really good with the kids on my street and he’s become somewhat of a local Tempe icon. He’s a perfect little bear and needs a bloody cuddle every day. All bow to Zeus!!! Especially you ridiculous humans with your lists and side dishes and recycling bins. Zeus is your god!!!Josh S.

Reviews:
How odd. This review was flagged for writing Big Mu** using the two F's 🙂 For the money, this is a really hard pedal to beat. It goes from mild and laid-back to wild and intense. The controls feel great…like as in excellent quality. This is a reissue of the original Big Mu** PI. I tried a Big Mu** PI with Wicker and forget about it. It hissed so loud in Wicker mode that I couldn't even here myself think and it got even worse with the tone switch off. And even in the so-called Big Mu** PI mode, it didn't sound anywhere near as good as this Rams Head does. And, the Rams Head is quiet compared to the BM PI with Wicker. One more thing, The BM PI with Wicker does not say anywhere on it nor in the included paperwork where it's made, whereas the RH BM PI clearly says New York City on the face of it…Vincent
The tone sweep is nice and there are some interesting spots because it is linear while kind of non-linear at 10 to noon and about 1-2 on tone control. I can't say why but usually I had purchased like more expensive versions of ehx pedals. That being said, I think people need to realize that these are quite accurate reissues and circuits, and just because it is an affordable pedal doesn't mean it isn't great.
Overall: Floats like a stone and stings like a nest of angry hornets! This box has the buzzsaw sound down pat. The fuzz is a thick, smooth, and consistent. I like this kind of fuzz in particular because it’s less fuzzy and little more distortion-like. The Tone knob has a really wide sweep from boomy bass to mid-range Hades. It has plenty of gain on tap and even sounds pretty good with the guitar’s volume rolled back a skosh.I’ve never used the original Green Russian Muff and have only heard them compared through videos online, so I can’t speak as to how they’re different/alike. I got it because I didn’t want to haul my vintage Black Russian Muff around from gig to gig anymore because it’s getting valuable and since it was a pretty jenky design to begin with, it’s liable to break with heavy use. That being said, the reissue Green Russian Muff has a different sound than an original V8 Black Russian Muff. It doesn’t sound as good to me, but it’s not so different that I wouldn’t use the Green Russian live in lieu of the Black Russian for the aforementioned reasons. One huge plus for the Green Russian is its pedalboard friendly size. The Black Russian is the size of an 80s metal lunchbox and took up an awkward sized chunk of the pedalboard. Now there’s more room for other unnecessary boxes (gulp)! One noteworthy ding for this pedal is how difficult it is to see the script on the top of the pedal. The words are printed right underneath the knobs, so if it’s kinda dark (which it usually is) and the lights are all in front of you (which they usually are) the words are impossible to see. Overall it’s a nice fuzz especially for the price. It’s noisy, but once the music gets rolling you won’t even notice it.Brad

Reviews:
Overall: I've been playing through a Headrush gigboard and needed something different that was just as easy to use, had plenty of tones that were inspiring, that didn't cost as much. I've owned a few Line 6 products over the 30 years of playing music and decided to buy the Pod Go. So worth it! The tones were better than expected, and if you can't afford the Helix series, this is the best choice for a floor unit under $500. The built in expression pedal with toe switch is perfect. You can switch between volume and wah wah or other parameters just by pressing the toe switch in the expression pedal. Basically you don't have to have another expression pedal. The built in pedal can do what you need. I am not tech savvy, I bought the Headrush gigboard last year because of how easy it is to use. I didn't think a floor unit could be. Then comes the Pod Go. It's actually much easier to use than the Headrush. Granted the two have different features but I found making your own sounds easier with the Pod Go. It seems I make them in a shorter time. The color display along with color footswitches make organizing sounds easier than making coffee. If you need a floor unit under 500 the Pod Go is the best choice on the market. If you're a metal head or a traditional Jazz player or love the complexity of Fusion, the Pod Go has your sound.
I was looking at purchasing a Helix LT and upon researching I came across the Pod Go Wireless. It does everything I required from the Helix but at less than half the price, size and weight. You can dial in some great tones, I use it through an 80w Marshall combi straight into the FX return (turning off the cab sim on the Pod) and it sounds very impressive. The amount of effects to choose from is incredible and you can tweak so many variables to get that perfect tone. The wah treadle is very good but it’s not so great when used as a volume pedal as it doesn’t seem to gradually increase/decrease the volume, it’s almost on/off. The wireless feature is very good, I’ve not had any connection issues and don’t have to worry about treading on my cable, which I’m very prone to. Overall, for what I need in a jamming/garage band capacity it is perfect and I’m very, very pleased with the purchase. PMT delivered the next day, it was very well packaged and was the best price I found on the internet.Martin M.
Overall: I wish I could say something positive about this unit. Although it does have some great sounds and features, the fact that it is constantly having to be rebooted because it freezes up or shuts down on its own make it pretty much worthless (Yes I’ve done all the updates and other futile suggestions from the support folks at line 6). Add to that a power supply that is a complete piece of crap. It’s cheap, fragile and generally a bad design. It is almost impossible to find a replacement because line 6 wanted it that way. Simply using a Standard, generic replacement (9v 2500 mA) Is tricky and not guaranteed to work. My review for this product: Look for something else better from a company who is not obsessed with nickel and diming their customers to death over some ridiculous accessory.

Reviews:
Sounds great. Also surprising versatility with the HP/LP settings. One criticism is that its very loud. Slotting in after 2 boosts and an OD, then before a fuzz has played havoc with my gain structure as, with those other pedals operating within normal vol ranges, I've found the volume on the OCD needs to be most of the way down when using drive greater than 12-o-clock which is even more noticeable on the HP setting. Btw, that's into a highish headroom amp so if you were using the OCD to further drive an already breaking up amp into much more compression then probably not that great an issueReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I needed something to stack along side of my TS that did not overpower the sound of the other pedal or sound too thick on its own. This pedal sounds fantastic with single coil pickups and pairs extremely well with other OD pedals. I like the fact it can run on either battery, 9V, or 18V AC connections, making this a great choice if you have limited ports on your power supply. On its own, it stands out very well when dialing up the drive settings and it sounds absolutely great coming through a properly dimed tube amplifier. It is no coincidence you see these pedals on the boards of many great professional players… This box just has excellent tone and all their products are handmade in the USA with plenty of care involved–making them a quality purchase. I am looking at collecting a couple of other earlier versions as some have tonal differences that work better with other set ups. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.built_for_speed
I've owned the Fulltone OCD for just over a week now and I can confidently say it's the best overdrive effects pedal I've ever had the pleasure of using. It has a sturdy build, it's versatile, it retains the original tone and colour of your guitar/amp combo and it's LOUD! I wanted a pedal that would fit compliment my '65 Twin Reverb Reissue amp and Telecaster, I love the tone of my setup but I really needed some bite in the shape of a good overdrive. After doing some research and seeing the name Fulltone OCD pop up again and again I started to get very curious about this pedal, the clincher was when I saw it on the pedal board of a guitarist on youtube who was showing off some of my favourite licks! I'm glad I chose the OCD. The fact that new OCD stock routinely goes out of stock shortly after going on sale on most websites should tell you everything! Recommended.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.

Reviews:
This is so feature rich you have to go slower. Also some of the preset levels on the Boost side almost blew up my amp and half stack. Be careful with the volume until you know what you have. 127 memory locations with the last update from 4. Sounds incredible but have to adjust carefully and the EQ is Active. It can really boost or cut but amazingly low noise to no noise and there is a great Noise Gate also that is very musical. Boss put a lot of thought into this and that shows so well. I only use analog distortions for the even harmonic content and this has that with hybrid digital also. Everything you want with headroom to spare from the high resolution A-D D-A converters and processing resolution.Morse
Seriously versatile pedal with a huge array of quality sounds. Simple to use even for an ageing rocker like me. Easy to store your favourite tone combinations and call them up at the press of a button. Tempted to try the other pedals in the 200 series. Must resist…..Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
This is a one stop do all OD/distortion pedal. The tone is fantastic. I love it. Running it threw a Marshall DSL 20 watt head and Orange Micro dark into a Randall 2×12. Really fattens the tone and easy to dial in to any tone you're into. Its a must buy for stacking and keeping your foot print small. Updating it to the newest firmware was easy just watch it on youtube. Grab oneGary A

Reviews:
Upfront…..it's a Keeley …and that alone tells anyone who knows pedals that it will be well built , decent sound quality and affordable…..but they missed the boat on this one and I expect a version 2.0 soon enough….the reverb and the delay cannot be stacked , either way , they can only be played independently. This was a big mistake on the design engineers or Robert himself. The gain/overdrive side of this pedal is excellent!!! And unfortunately I am stacking this pedal with an Oceans 11 while using their spring or plate modes. I will be pretty peeved if and when version 2 is released and the stacking in series or parallel is now useable. Otherwise I give this a 3/5 where it could have been a 4.5/5 easily!!!!!…….sorry guys …had to be honest …but I won't buy version 2 unless you take BACK this original version and modify it correctly!!!Chaotic Embrace Inc
What an incredible pedal! This is the perfect grab and go for the working musician. A wonderful solid blues breaker style drive and choice of delay or reverb. Both the analog and digital delays are amazing. I can't recommend the pedal enough. It only took 5 minutes for this to become one of my all time favorite Keeley pedals (and I have over 20 different Keeleys).Nnate8

14. Keeley Tone Workstation Pedal

Product Details:
The tone workstation was designed as a pedal for those who may not want an over-complicated pedalboard. stick this in the front of your chain for pure clarity to your tone. it may even be the only pedal you need! compression, drive and boost are all here to help make you sound the best you can. the compressor really is the unsung hero of any guitar players tone, and you really get a chance to see how important it can be within this pedal. three control knobs allow you to really blend and mix up the level of compression you desire within your tone. adjust the sustain and blend functions to really get the most out of your playing. if that wasn't enough, the drive/boost section of this pedal is where you can really develop your tone. in katana mode, only the level knob will be active giving you a sweet, clean tube-like boost. but flick that switch up to 1962 for a rocking british overdrive and experiment a little bit and fill your playing with all that crunchy goodness!

Reviews:
Keeley has come up with an excellent pedal here. To me, the real star of this pedal is the treble boost and blend knob option on the compressor, really changes the game on the legendary keeley comp. I had a 4 knob version previously, and never could really bond with it. This, however, has become the base for my tone. The 1962/katana section is great, although I wish there was an option to use the boost with the 1962. That is my only real gripe with the entire pedal. Perhaps having just a boost knob instead of having to switch it out. But I still love the great clean boost from the katana with my mesa, and the 1962 it great for a faux Marshall sound. The "red dirt" section is……well, it's a tubescreamer, what else can you say, really? It does what it's supposed to do. I'm not a huge ts fan, but, it's still very useful for boosting or for that SRV sound. The built is solid, and the size, for the amount of options and the fact that it is 4 pedals in one, is absolutely great. A very small footprint on your board for the amount of tone you get. To be honest, I really think this should be considered a great "bang for your buck" option. Another great job by Mr. Keeley!Smokey Joe
I have been a Keeley fan for years and was excited to get this gem of a pedal that replaced my older Keeley compressor, Keeley-modded BD-2 Blues Driver and clean boost. This pedal does all three and more, making my pedal board much simpler. Don't need to say much about the compressor – Keeley is arguably the best. I love both the Katana boost and the 1962 drive in the boost section. Just delicious tone. The drive section adds another level and variety of dirty tone. I have only had it a week but know that it will be a permanent part of my board. Keep in mind this pedal is at its best when sending signal into a tube amp, helping it come alive. If you are looking for a heavy medal distortion this pedal is probably not for you.Ryan
The Keeley Tone Station has a Mod plus Tubescreamer(red dirt) it gets less overdrive, and more overdrive than a tubescreamer. Rhe baked Mod is a Tubescreamer with more overdrive than a tubescreamer (red dirt). The "1962" is a bluesbreaker circuit. It can be stacked into the Tubescreamer(red dirt) the Katana is a clean boost the tone knobs are disabled when you switch the keeley pedal to Katana The Katana can stack into the Red Dirt or the "1962" can stack imto the red dirt ( tubescreamer. The compressor has a blend knob the other keeley compressors did mnot have a blend knob the compressor evens oylit the strings volume and the switch for the compessor for brightnesd work well more than I expected.!!1279ernest

Reviews:
The g system sounds better than any multi effects unit that I've ever used. The notes just seem to ring with more clarity than I can remember hearing in other units and the tone is great. Practically zero noise when used with good cables. The build is incredible ; it's heavy and feels solid. i have it plugged into a Marshall dlc40 and it sounds incredible. Thank you TC Electronics and Sam Ash!Vf5fan
Had one of these in 2006 and used it with a Bogner Ecstasy head. In 2011 went over to amp modeling rigs so I sold off my G-System. Late 2018 I went back to a tube amp (Mesa TC-50). Used an old midi control pedal I had along with my ancient G-Major effects. Decided to upgrade the rig and go back to the G-System. This new G-System is a 3rd Generation unit with superior input buffering. I couldn't be happier with my tone and the quality of the effects as well as the ease of use in channel switching and preset set-up. Turned my great rig into an awesome rig!
This is an awesome multi-effects & rig management Tool. Top TC effects, complete integration and optimization of your gear and total control over your effects and sound. Built like a tank out of steel and aluminum and used by professional musicians all over the world. It is perfectly suited for both live and studio work and it is inspiring to use. The G-System integrates perfectly with an existing setup and provides the perfect backbone to a guitar rig. All of the features are accessed via the floor boards 18 illuminated footswitches, six with built-in rotary encoders to make adjusting parameters on the fly incredibly easy and intuitive.Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
16. Empress Effects Heavy Dual Channel Distortion Pedal

Product Details:
The empress effects heavy overdrive offers a huge range of high gain tones. this versatile pedal delivers many different tones such as crisp, mid-driven 80's metal to modern down-turned brutality. the heavy overdrive benefits from having two independent channels which can be voiced similarly so that one channel can be used as a solo boost, or they can be voiced entirely differently by using the mid range control in conjunction with the 3 position mid frequency select switch. separate weight controls can be added in to shape the low end response of each channel, and a global hi/low eq section that allows you to fine tune your particular amp and cab combination. with all these great features it is a worthwhile investment for your pedalboard.
Specifications:
Reviews:
Have still to explore all the tonal possibilities of this aptly-named dual distortion pedal but first impressions have been very positive. The unit is smaller and lighter than I expected but the two foot switches are well separated. With six controls for each channel plus shared 'hi' and 'lo' EQ there are plenty of tone-shaping options. The user manual helpfully suggests some settings to get you started. The internal noise gate has so far proved very effective left on the 'natural' setting. You can adjust the threshold to suit your guitar's output, but having used the pedal with guitars loaded with vintage, medium output and hot humbuckers, I've found no need to alter the default factory setting. If you're in the market for a versatile high-gain distortion pedal I would strongly recommend taking a look at this one.Christopher D.

Specifications:

Reviews:
The first step in putting this unit together is to install the 1/4" connectors. right out of the gate, the holes milled for the 1/4" connectors are to close to the top of the box, and the connectors are not able to install and sit flush against the side of the box. the only fix is to oval out the holes, or maybe drill new holes. the only reason I gave 2 stars is that it still might sound good, and it's cheap. I'll revisit the review after i get it together.dickieziggen
I purchased this with the intention of modifying the original circuit. I used a 2n3904 and a nte123ap in a cascaded darlington configuration and I used a germanium diode with red led instead of the provided pair of silicon diodes. It functions as a dirty boost but when pushed, it has a raspy aggressive distortion with asymmetrical clipping that closely resembles early Led Zeppelin tones.Josh
Super easy to build and sounds great! It likes single coils and humbuckers! Throw this in front of an already driven amp and drive it some more…or put in front of a clean amp and get a nice rich overdrive. This pedal is on my pedal board now! Can't beat the price for a great pedal and a fun experience!Clint
