Reviews:
👎 👎👎 This was a gift for my husband. I thought he could take it with him to kill time in the car or use to chill and easily practice playing guitar in bed or wherever he is. – Nope I also thought worst case scenario my 12 yr old son could practice his cords on it without having to bring his guitar around with him. – Nope You can't do anything with it because there is no way to strum it. There are no strings to strum! Just a plastic molded plate that looks like strings. Even if if you try strumming the neck (the portion that does have strings), it makes no sound either, so you don't really know if you are making the cord correctly if it's for practice purposes. The videos on YouTube make it seem like people are really enjoying jamming on it and as though the onlookers are actually enjoying as well – but you would get just as much pleasure out of picking up a broom to pretend to jam on. I got more musical practice and enjoyment out of those card sized mini electric pianos back in the 90's that you could get at the 99Cent store. Buyer BewareHildagilda
I'm a beginner and want to practice every day. I travel often for business and I bring my PocketStrings with me so I can practice my finger placement since I do not bring my guitar along. I'm surprised how many bad reviews are posted. This is only for practice – no sound. After only a few days of use, I'm already seeing an improvement! I highly recommend!David
This would be better if the cover locked in place when you are playing. Since it doesn't, every time you try to slide up the neck the cover starts to close. So if you want to just play simple chords to work your calouses, great. but any other use is really limited by the closing cover. Also the string adjustment is poorly crafted. It is designed to be changed from the exterior with an Allen wrench, but the quality is so poor the holes don't line up. So you have to use a screw driver to open the cover to make the adjustments. Anybody try traveling on an airline with a screwdriver lately? Yeah. Thats a problem.Vrotate

I got this neck to replace the one I had on my Squier FSR Bullet Telecaster (in Metallic Purple with Maple Fretboard). This telecaster has a Maple neck with a normal C shape and felt really unrefined for a "Fender" neck. I decided to get this Fender Telecaster Standard Replacement Neck with a Modern C shape neck. This new actual Fender neck was a drastic change in quality and performance. Here's just a quick Pros and Con of this product. PROS: Real Fender Product – Because this is an official Fender product, the neck replacement on my Squier was seamless and very simple. Modern C – Makes a better feeling guitar when playing compared to the normal C shape neck. Satin Neck Finish on back – The neck is very smooth feeling when playing. The finish on the back of the neck doesn't get in the way of you playing fast. This helps if you have sweaty hands when playing. Gloss fretboard – This makes a difference because if doesn't feel like your fingers are sticking to the fretboard. Medium Jumbo Frets – Just feels nice when moving around the fretboard. Bending strings feel nicer than my old Squier frets. Pre Drilled Holes for Tuners – I already had Fender locking tuners. So it was a simple swap with no mods needed. CONS: Nut not slotted – I don't understand why the NUT isn't slotted at least for common string size. It is very slightly to get you started but you would need a file. I just used the low E strong and used it like a file but it didn't come out too well and I've had to buy a new nut that comes preslotted. No predrilled String tree hold – This really wasn't too much of a problem but it's scary if you get it wrong. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase after two weeks of everyday playing with it. This was a much needed upgrade from my Squier telecaster neck I had.C. Barona
this is my 4th roasted neck and I can't recommend them enough. especially if you live on or near the water. I can pull out my strat or tele after not playing them for a few days and they are right in tune look at the quality that is put into them and you'd agree. when screwed to a sunburst or pastel colored body they just really enhance the look of your instrument. the cost of the roasted neck is something you gotta think about like do you really want to spend that kinda Ching on a neck? hell you can buy a standard neck for less or even buy an after market neck and play the same its all about the stability of the wood that closed the deal for me. dig down deep in yer pocket and pony up the Ching for one of these I'm pretty sure you be pleased you did. perfect fitment into a MIM fender body. finish was flawless and the dark maple is beautiful. mistake made on my part, not fender….. the roasted maple has so much less give than standard maple. I should have thought about that with all of the moisture being removed from the wood. I used fender press fit tuner bushings and installed them with a C-clamp as I always have. I heard the headstock crack as I was installing the D string bushing and my heart sank. Luckily, I was able to inject some wood glue and clamp it overnight to close it up, but I reamed out the G tuner bushing and learned my lesson. use care when installing the tuner bushings on anything roasted as the fibers in the wood simply will not compress the same way another neck would.Grey

Reviews:
A lighter weight product than I had expected but it performs the task it was bought for, namely to support the neck of a guitar and several other instruments whilst stringing or performing repairs. NB. I always provide a cushion of soft material for the body of the instrument but the neck support has to be placed on a hard surface , of course.bprapidcycler
Folds perfectly into my toolbox to lug around, cradles guitar necks perfectly for any maintenance jobs I do.customer
This product is adequate for what it is designed for. I don't know if I would buy it again, but it does what it is designed to do and does a fine job. It is a little cheap and I can see it becoming unusable the more you use it. For the every day user it wouldn't be something I would recommend, but for the occasional user it is fine.llardog

unfinished neck….took some work to dress the fret ends, but turned out very nice.steevesellaes
Im a player that has longer fingers and the fat neck cut down on player fatigue. Bought a rosewood a few weeks ago and came back to buy a maple neck with the nitro finish. They are beautiful necks and Im more than happy with my two Tele builds. Keep in mind that you will have to remove the nitro finish from the frets for it is standard practice to apply the finish to the entire neck. There are a few YouTube videos out there on how to properly do this. I personally taped up my fretboard and used a fine sandpaper to remove the finish from the frets. Also pay attention to the hole size in the headstock for your tuners. You may have to enlarge the holes provided and add those little pilot holes to stabilize your tuners. Just TAKE YOUR TIME with your build or replacement neck and you should be as satisfied as I am.smitus_s3lzwcnku

Great neck! Quality was great. Definitely would recommend this. Perfect fit.trevynd21
This is an accurate repro to a late 1962 neck construction. Well made and occasionally get a very nice subtle flame in the maple (Ive bought a few). Most necks made are slab spec, but if you like the veneer style, this is the closest youll find to what Fender made in late 1962 and onward until 1967.panther3535

The bridge saddle, super Treble Saddle, guitarneck nut, and super treble nut are made of to soft of a material. No amplification for Bass or Super Treble. The fret job was superb, as well as the action. The finish of the fingerboard was very nice but not oiled a good coat of lemoil did wonders. The strings were horribly oxidized with black spots and pitting, very bad for a new instrument. Over all nice for the price. Also no tuner for the Super Trebles.jstmsnu123
Great guitar but what's the tuning for it?matlov_17
Needs complete setup. Only After adjusting the neck. lowering the saddle and after removing the nut and properly seating it was it playable. It now plays reasonably well and I can enjoy it. It is a fine looking instrument. I would recommend it only to those who can do the setup process themselves or are willing to pay a tech to do it for them.bobcat420_0

Reviews:
I bought this because I'm a finger picker, and previously only had an Ovation. This has a little wider neck which helps the fingering with the way I play, and is quite a bit louder than the Ovation, which is nice when you can't amplify the sound. As far as the way it plays, to me it's a toss-up between the Ovation and the Gitane. The tuners are better on the Ovation. I do like it, and don't regret buying it.Press One
Guitar was packed with great care and arrived with all packaging in pristine condition. Guitar shipped somewhat later than expected. Solid spruce top with laminated rosewood sides and back. Wood grain is very attractive (whether the solid or laminated wood) and it is nicely finished. No evidence of sloppy work (sharp frets, excess glue, bad joints etc.). Two 1/8 inch indents on the back the size of a small "snakebite" that came that way from the factory which are probably tool marks. Ebony fingerboard with the wider nut that I prefer. Traditional Selmer-Maccaferri look. I have large hands and find the neck contour quite comfortable. Guitar is really "playable" and I feel it yields real Gypsy Jazz tone. It is a distinctive sound to be sure. Sounds unlike any of my other acoustic guitars. While originally designed to be a rhythm guitar, it also sounds pretty nice for leads. This guitar is surprisingly loud. I haven't attempted to play it though a mic yet and haven't felt the need to. I get some buzzing and the intonation is slightly off when the open strings are compared to their natural harmonics (slightly sharp). Ships with D'Addario 10's which I find too light for my right hand (which is a bit heavy). Had my teacher (who is conservatory trained) try it out. He enjoyed playing it but experienced some buzzing as well (which confirms it isn't just me). Needs a light set up (probably a neck and bridge adjustment). Will try Argentine 11's in the hope the extra tension will reduce buzzing, improve tone, and suit my touch a bit better. Might make it louder too. Represents a very nice value for the money. Good tone and manufacture with a traditional look and reasonable price tag. An all solid wood guitar would be at least twice the price, and I don't know how much of a difference in tone it would make without getting into a really expensive guitar. The big question now is "How durable will it be?" when I start to give it heavy use. Don't know the answerKiller
The Gitane D-500 is called a Jazz/Gypsy Guitar. It sounds absolutely Beautiful, that is the only word which suits it. You can listen to it being played on the Sellers website. I bought it from Kentucky USA, although Import Tax is a Pain in the B*m!!. I paid 644.00p for it but it is an investment which I can pass on to one of my grandchildren should they take up the guitar. I have another 5 different guitars but only 2 Acoustics. Some of my guitar buddies have tried it & they have All Liked it, the tone & resonance from it carries on & on. Have Nothing Bad to say about it, it is a fantastic instrument.mattr1951
11. Tree Of Life – Fret Markers For Guitars Awp (Aged White Pearl)

Product Details:
Steve vai ibanez jem / blossom style fret markers for guitars! easy to apply & remove. no adhesive will be left behind after you peel off the stickers. they will not get caught by your fingers while playing. super-thin 0.07m and removable. the stickers can cover existing dot-markers easily.
Reviews:
It looks fantastic. We even fooled the guitar teacher.tweenieblack
These looked great for maybe a week and then the upper most layer of the sticker material has begun to peel off. Looks horrible. Like bits of masking tape all over the fretboard. Installed directly as per their instructions. Maybe this type of product is suitable for a simple dot or square inlay, but the material simply is not good enough for something intricate like this. Whoever is saying you can't feel these on the fretboard is either playing with gloves on or lying. You can 100% feel them there. In fact, they often make the board feel slower as you now have this glossy surface that is harder to move over.ca-be21

I don't why I didn't get something like this a long time ago. I've been playing guitar and bass for over 40 years and have always done my own set up and maintenance. I've always made something to put the neck on out of whatever was handy. I've owned a recording studio now for several years and have many more guitars and basses to take care of. This neck cradle stays where you put it and keeps the neck stable when filing frets, etc. In my opinion, it's a good value and I would recommend it.DjPhil
I have used many things to hold my guitars and basses but none of them haved worked as well as this one. It adjusts to any angle or hight, the cradles side holds the neck and the flat side is used for wjen you need to work on the back side of your guitar. It is perfect for all guitars, electirc, acoustic and basses. great product!Paul

Reviews:
I’m a 54 yr old,pro player & guitar instructor, I’m always interested in budget guitars to suggest to students. I’ve found some feel cheap,or play horribly. This brand is quite the opposite, it has a solid feel, low action, rich bass and sparkling tone. I know those terms are tossed around a lot, listen to the demos on YT, this guitar sparkles like a nice acoustic should. The finish feels wonderful,it came with everything,a tuner, strap, extra strings, and a gig bag. The kit even came with a battery and a wrench to adjust the height of the action. The wrench works well, Ashthorpe has videos showing how to use it, The ELECTRONICS are what makes this instrument much better than the other budget acoustics on Amazon, It has a strong, rich equalizer onboard,u can do or subtract treble, or bass..or midrange..or the super high frequency string noises can be lowered or raised w the presence control. It has a volume control and a battery tester with LED right onboard. This electronics and preamp package is what you’d expect on guitars $300 or higher..It’s not Fishman or a famous brand, but it may as well be, it feels the same. I’ve owned over a hundred guitars, probably closer to 200 and I’ve never seen an acoustic electric with this kind of tone, feel and quality electronics in this price range..ever, if this guitar had no electronics, and was not electric-acoustic at all..it would still sell like crazy at this price. It’s almost hard to believe you get SO much for your hundred bucks. I have had acoustics where the case alone cost more than this guitar. Buy this model if you are considering a few different ones.. the thinline Ashthorpe makes is a smaller body, good for small hands, petite ladies or teens.. but the full size dreadnaught has the rich, thick bass u can feel in your body. The tone is better than the thinline, but a dread body can be big for some smaller people. The thinline was small and comfy, little more sparkly and less bass, but this model has the tone. And the way they laser etched the logo on the navy blue headstock is classy,it gives the whole guitar the expensive, modern vibe I go through guitars fast, I buy, sell, trade.and give some away to students…and I only wind up w the ones I LOVE. And I still have my Ashthorpe Dreadnaught Blue burst,it was a gift from my parents,.and has special meaning to me, Just buy this one, thank me later! forget the budget brands u see on Amazon..Ashthorpe users all leave great reviews, and for good reason.. the customer service is top notch too, a nice lady named Jennifer took great care of me when I had inquiries, and replied to my emails the same day, super quickly.Kevin G.(.I.
I’ve been a guitar instructor over 30 years, I’m a pro player with album credits on Warner, Gergen and more.. I’m 54 and playing since I’m 12 I own two Ashthorpe acoustics, this one in a dark butterscotch finish, and a full size dread in blue burst, The thinline has that tone like one of the smaller bodied guitars..bright,sparkly and up front. The body is not as thick as a big acoustic like my dreadnaught, but it is a full scale length adults acoustic.. they just made the body thinner for smaller folks to feel more comfy, The electronic package is superb, get it for that alone, you can plug in delays and effects, phase shifter and compressors, reverbs.. use the PA system or a small amp and play coffee house gigs, without the trouble of putting another Micah the guitar. The EQD section and the onboard controls are well made, useful and the eq points are musical and just right. It’s amazing how intuitive these designers were, they got just about everything right… the feel, the neck, the tone, the electronics..the finish.. it came with a strong gig bag ,not padded but rainproof and strong, like the nylon Tents and backpacks are made from..also a good electric tuner that works nicely,a cable, picks, a strap, extra strings..everything good quality and usable for a pro..maybe investing in a set of more expensive strings will help, the sets they provided sounded ok.but I’m guessing some high end strings would improve sound too,(Martin,Diaddario,Ernie Ball..etc) If u want something light and comfy, yet adult scale length with a pro feel and gorgeous woodwork, they’re out there.. but in this price range? There’s nothing available with the electronics package like this.. It’s so much fun playing with effects through an amp, this company is really awesome, they have instructional videos on YouTube and the customer service was polite, efficient and very pleasant.Kevin G.(.I.
