I had bought one of these before and put on my Fender Japan 1984-1987 P bass just because that big F looks cooler on there than a blank plate. Now I got another for my 2017 Fender Roadworn 50s P-bass for the same reason. I know the 70s style F isn't the correct period vibe for either bass but it just looks better to me and Im happy for that / If your instrument looks good to you weather that's funky or pristine it makes you wanna play it more . This one is easy. This will work to hold the neck on pretty much any standard Fender guitar or bass that uses a four screw pattern. So while not visibly correct for a 50s or 60s Fender, its the same size and top quality. Fender switched to serial numbers on the decal in the mid 70s (1976) and adopted this plate which they used through the 90s for USA instruments. Be aware these are about 19 grams in weight and are made of some kind of aluminium alloy. The old strat plates were made of some other heavier non magnetic metal. My strats old plate weighed in at 59 grams; both are roughly about 2.2 mm thickness. The fender f plate and vintage plate are both chrome plated steel, (well magnetic material anyway). The vintage plate is about 32 grams and very thin at about 1.2 mm. The f plate is about 1.5 mm, and a little heavier the vintage, (on guitar so could not weigh). The corona plate seems strong and it has a good chrome finish. I marked it down one star due to the radical weight difference over previous plates, but I'm sure it is strong enough to last. Fender also confirmed that these plates are correct and used on newer strats.goldfinger1976

Im a player that has longer fingers and the fat neck cut down on player fatigue. Bought a rosewood a few weeks ago and came back to buy a maple neck with the nitro finish. They are beautiful necks and Im more than happy with my two Tele builds. Keep in mind that you will have to remove the nitro finish from the frets for it is standard practice to apply the finish to the entire neck. There are a few YouTube videos out there on how to properly do this. I personally taped up my fretboard and used a fine sandpaper to remove the finish from the frets. Also pay attention to the hole size in the headstock for your tuners. You may have to enlarge the holes provided and add those little pilot holes to stabilize your tuners. Just TAKE YOUR TIME with your build or replacement neck and you should be as satisfied as I am.smitus_s3lzwcnku

I was searching for a good solid hb that would give me a brown sound on a budget and this little punum fit the bill. After some research I found out that these are made in the good ol usa and modeled after the sound of the vintage 70's/'80's dean guitars, which came stock with Dimarzio SD's. The designers also listened to players suggestions on where they felt improvement was needed and went to work. What you have in the TC really is an improved SD, balanced highs and mids smooth lows, no unpleasant shrills or spikes across the frequency range with good tight clean crunch and hints of that out of phase growl. Mind you this pup went into an ash body mounted at an angle on a custom pickguard with just a 500k volume pot ala evh so that setup does free up some db's but I am sure that no matter what your setup is, you too will be very pleased with the sound and eq of the Time Capsule not to mention the awesome value u get for the money.vector2318c
