Overall: What can I say, this thing saved my guitar tone. I can crack my all tube output and capture 100 percent tone now. Before I was always worried about not only that but im recording in a townhouse there is nowhere in my place i could isolate the amp even if it wouldn't bother gf or neighbors. This thing is awesome i bought a 4 dollar goose neck for the mic inside threw in a shure sm57 and just listen through my monitors or headphone, Finally i've got the perfect tone always waiting for me. I run the sm57 into a chandler tg2 and into the computer, the front end is a digitech 2101 into a bogner line 6 spider amp. awesomeness !! Ive heard people say these are to boxy sounding and I don't agree, with an eq handy and some good pres and guitar effects your set to go it sounds awesome.Nathen
You'll notice in photos that the sound deadening is gray and fibrous. The one I received from AMS is upgraded with the egg crate type acoustic foam. This is one step in upgrading the cabinet that I don't have to do, now. There is still no foam at the bottom of the cabinet, which is fine. It can be added easily. Some upgrade with another gooseneck, but I found a way around that in buying an MXL DX-2 microphone. It has two capsules built in that you can use either side of or blend together, but still use the single gooseneck and output. The cabinet uses a Celestion Vintage 30 at 8ohms. It is not dead quiet, but at a decent level it be low enough to not upset your neighbors at all. I would not recommend turning your tube amp up to 10, but you an turn up a 100 watt head at 2-3 and get a nice overall sound. You just need enough of the speaker moving. Very happy with the product.
Picked one up to do recording. Sounds great. Reduces volume so I don't drive the neighbors crazy. Yes the hinges rattle but that does not effect the recording sound so far. May I will try some duct tape. The mic holder is pretty much stationary. But it just a straight mic stand section. So you could use any mic stand accessories. I added 5 – 12" x 12" acoustic foam squares under the speaker to tighten up the sound a bit. It has rubber feet on the bottom so no vibration into floor and it does not scoot around. I am pleased with my purchase. I bought this as a scratch and dent The hinge screws stripped out. I replaced them with larger diameter 3/4" long scre s and they are very sturdy now. I recorded with this in my hallway, and I was using my monitors. No sound from monitor bled into recording. And I cranked the amp pretty loud, but the volume was nowhere near annoying with the lid closed. I recommend this iso cab. 30w vintage delection.Spoiled dog studios

3. Acousta-Stuf Polyfill Speaker Cabinet Sound Damping Material – 1lb Bag
Product Details:
Bag acousta-stuf is a synthetic material made from crimped fibres. it is an excellent choice for filling or stuffing small enclosures or transmission line cabinets. long fibre wool has been a favourite among serious speaker builders but acousta-stuf is less expensive than long fibre wool and does not have the problem of harbouring moths. acousta-stuftm will also outperform dacron, foam, and fibreglass. acousta-stuf is a sound absorption, dampening fibre that will deepen bass, provide cleaner midrange and improve the dynamic extension of any speaker system. there are no health hazards with acousta-stuf and no mask or gloves are needed when using this product; the melting point is a very high 490°f. most sealed and vented enclosures require 0.5kg. of dampening material per cubic foot of enclosure. for best results it is recommended to loosely fill the material throughout the enclosure.

Not much too it – a bag full of white fluffy stuff. It does what it is supposed to and I dint have any problems stuffing it or fluffing it. Seems to go in nicely and will stay put from what I could tell – haven't taken speaker apart to check. I put enough in so that the speaker was in a well but the material supported itself. Did not use any adhesive inside the enclosure. It was a bing box for a 12" sub. Subwoofer sound great so guess it's doing what it is supposed to.Albert
Really great stuff. I was refurbishing a pair of AR-4x speakers and found it was stuffed with something called rockwool that looked white and was much denser than fiberglass. Plus it was old and shredding. I assumed the worst and wore a respirator while removing and disposing of it. What a pain. This acousta-stuff is amazing and you don't even have to wear a mask to use it. Highly recommended.Gregory
Acoustistuf fill should be the amount it takes to change a think into a click! Using a 9 volt battery and a normally off pushbutton switch to energise the voice coil. With no fill, switch the power to the voice coil, and you will hear a THUNK. Add fill until the THUNK changes to a CLICK. Then the speaker is critically damped !!!!!!Steven

I bought this to record audio in the field as I had no access to a studio. I needed something quick and inexpensive. The box did prevent ambient sound from getting into the recording and the audio worked well enough for the project. However, the sound proof foam was hard to work with because it's too flimsy to stand on its own. The box include a tape like substance for the top edge but it didn't hold the foam. The foam for the side would also fall over. I tried using two-sided tape but it wouldn't stick to the foam. I even tried Gaffer's tape but it also would not stick to the foam. I ended up holding the foam up while the audio was being recorded. In the end it worked fine but dealing with the foam was not fun.Dan B.
Main issue, foam constantly falls and droops. I suppose they could be used in a pinch but they are falling apart from day one. It doesn't even make sense how the foam is supposed to stay in there. Something simple like Velcro or a binder clip could greatly improve the foam attachment.Demetrious
For anyone on a budget, needing sound-proofing to reduce background noise while recording, this portable booth box may be just what you are looking for. I live in an apartment and I have limited space for a recording studio, so my recording facility must be compact. And because I live in an apartment — a studio to be specific — background noise and ambient sound is ever-present. The PSIB27 effectively creates a sound barrier around my MIC, cutting noise substantially. However, this sound-proof box alone, will not eliminate background noise entirely for me and my situation. To further increase noise reduction, I have to use the "noise reduction" feature in either Cool Edit or Audacity — the recording/editing software I use to make my recordings. Of course, if you live in a quieter area or have a room that is better isolated from background noise, the PSIB27 may shield background noise even more … maybe even 90 to 100 percent. But I will not make the claim that this item will absolutely eliminate your background noise. Your results, like mine, will vary. However, for the price and compact, space-saving design, I am satisfied with the results I have achieved, using the PSIB27.ifthepriceisright

Reviews:
I just completed my Mod 102 kit. An excellent experience! I was delighted with the quality of components, clarity of instructions, and, perhaps most importantly, the sound of the amp. It is very loud – currently running into my Fender Twin Reverb cab (2×12) and very sweet! I will be running it into a new 1×12 cab with a new Celestion G12 M Heritage 'Greenback' when I get a case for the speaker (on order). My only criticism (and something to look out for) is that the chassis is very nicely painted in gray gunmetal paint. Even following the directions to file all the holes, it is very hard to get a good ground connection at every point a terminal strip connects. I worried about this, and about 1/3rd of the way through the build, took an ohm meter to check all the connections, and as I had suspected, some of the connections were not great (9-10 ohms or so!) So I removed the terminal strips (with the components I had already soldered still attached) and scraped away the paint under the tabs of the strips to ensure a good connection. Re-testing showed virtually zero resistance. I'd strongly recommend scraping the paint away at all holes under the chassis before getting started on the build. Even better, suggest that Amplified Parts leave the inside chassis unpainted (at least around the important holes). Aside that one criticism, I am delighted with the kit and with Amplified Parts. Everything was delivered promptly and they are a class outift. I'll probably try some of their other kits soon.vpmerlyn
I spent three evenings building the MOD102. The instructions are very easy to understand and the amp has a great Fender sound. I had one grounding issue that was easily fixed with a little help from tech support, which was excellent. If you're good at following step by step instructions and can solder well this is a fun little amp to build. Only small issue is the labels. They could stand an improvement.Brandon
I just finished this amp build and it sounds fantastic! I also just finished a Marshall 18 Watt clone and I have to say that the Mod102+ holds its own very nicely alongside the Marshall. In fact, I will probably use the Mod102+ for recording because it sounds amazing at lower volumes (the Marshall is loud AF). Honestly, if I were only going to build one of them today, it would be the Mod. I'm blown away by the tone! Great kit with excellent instructions. Great bang for the buck. The parts all seem to be top quality. I love the old style cloth solid core wire, too. I find it much easier to work with than modern stranded wire. The labels are a bit lame but I covered them with packing tape as suggested before cutting them out and they look fine. If you're thinking about building an amp, build this one.danjbeckett

Early days yet, hence only 4 stars: I need to use it in more varied situations to fully assess it. I bought it to counteract boominess from my bass rig when playing on suspended floors, like the typical wooden stage you get in village halls and theatres. I have used it at one band rehearsal on a suspended wooden stage and it certainly helped reduce some of the boom. It would be asking a lot of a wooden plank with some foam stuck on it to completely eradicate the transfer of vibrations into what is essentially a giant cajon! This baby version is big enough to accommodate an Ashdown RM112 EVO II cabinet, so is going to cope with quite a few modern compact bass and guitar rigs; e.g. Barefaced One10s but maybe not a Blues Junior: check your dimensions carefully.Patrick O.
I have a very large system, although it can be broken down to create Several smaller and lighter(!) setups. It has amazed me that the clarity of the system is so for increased. I tested the setup with 3 basses- A Kiesel 6 string accelerator with Eliixir .032-.130 nickels, An Ibanez Btb7 Limited(gold, high gloss, 7 piece neck) Kalium .082-.266 hybrid strings, And aa Ibanez Srff806 with Kalium hybrid strings .102-.266 .The clarity Of the strings is outstanding , especially the larger strings. My setup is like this : Odyssey 18 u case, Line 6 relay 90 wireless, Korg pitch black tuner, Dbx 266 compressor, Bbe processor, Dbx 120a synthesizer,, Behringer Bass ProAmp, Carvin Ac120s , 2 Carvin B2000 Bass Amps each powering a Carvin 8×10 and 2 Carvin 1×18 and the other B2000 connecting to 3 Pjb C4 and a Peavey 2×10. I am still amazed at the difference.
Having read a lot of online hype about the benefits of a Gramma pad I have to admit to being somewhat sceptical of some of the claims but when I saw that PMT had the baby Gramma for £35, significantly cheaper than anywhere else I could find online, I thought I'd give it a go. The Baby Gramma is 15 inches (38 cm) square which is the perfect fit for my Barefaced Two10 bass cab when playing it stood up vertically. My first use was on a gig with a wooden stage, which are a bass players enemy as they cause a ton of boom from bass cabs. But I slid the Baby Gramma under the cab which acoustically decouples the cab from the floor (so the internet tells me!) and the boom had gone. My cab sounded deeper and clearer than it ever had before and I wasn't having to fight any low end resonance for the entire gig. None! Who'd have thought some MDF with a carpet tile glued on plus a bit of foam underneath would make more of a dramatic affect on my bass tone than a new bass, amp, pedal or pickups would??? But it does. It really does. If you don't believe me, and I say that as someone who thought it was all hyperbole for years, then try it for yourself. I've no idea how long it will last as it is essentially a block of foam (albeit a dense acoustic dampening foam) with an MDF top but I look after my gear so I'd hope for a good few years use from it.Sid N.

11. A/da Gcs-2 Cabinet Simulator & Di Box
Product Details:
Turn any full-range passive or powered monitor speaker or sound system into a dynamic guitar cabinet, loaded with your choice of drivers.the new ada gcs-2 is an easy-to-use guitar cabinet simulator in a small, rugged package designed for guitar players and sound engineers who are looking for high quality analog solutions for live sound reinforcement systems, stage monitors and recording electric guitar. the new ada gcs-2 is ideally suited for live performance and studio applications. a unique feature of the gcs-2 is that it replicates the low frequency natural resonance of a guitar speaker cabinet at loud volumes, which is especially noticeable in the sealed cabinet configuration. the gcs-2 is inserted between the output of your preamplifier (or effects pedal chain) and a mixing or recording console to replace the close proximity microphone that is typically used to mic a guitar speaker cabinet. this eliminates the problem of bleed through or crosstalk from other instruments or amplifiers in live situations. the same feedback that you get from a stack or a hot-rod combo can easily be produced in the monitor, and interestingly, with more control.
12. Line 6 Powercab 112 Speaker Cabinet

Reviews:
Sound: I’m very happy with the sound quality. It may not sound identical to the original speakers modeled but honestly I don’t have that good of an ear to know the difference. I do know my high gain and crunch patches with the Vintage or Green sound just like I want, and for clean-ish tones the Essex with a Vox amp does the job quite nicely. Whether it has the mythical “amp in the room” sound or not is going to be up to each user’s own ears. I will say it sounds more organic and amp-like than any FRFR I’ve used and leave it at that. Features: This has so many features it’s hard to list what I find most useful. Physical features like being fairly lightweight and having tiltback legs are certainly helpful to an old guy like me. The tiltback seems extreme but it works well and I don’t feel the need for an amp stand. MIDI or L6 link to remotely change cabinets with each patch is great, and with the L6 link it can easily be done within each patch. I also like that the L6 link runs audio and data. Why use 2 cables when you can to it all with one? The ability to use it as a standard FRFR to run IR is another cool feature and I like that if I need to I can go direct to FOH via through the PC+ and use a separate IR to FOH and speaker modeling in the cab. Lastly, this can be used with any modeler. You can send MIDI messages via standard 5 pin MIDI cable to change speakers and IR within patches from just about any modeling product. If something ever trumps the Helix, I’ll still have a great cab to pair it with. Ease of Use: It’s incredibly easy to get good sounds. Turn the knob on the top until you get a speaker you like. The speaker modeling sounds great. I’ve dabbled with some of the IR’s and they sound great too. Some folks have complained that it doesn’t have enough volume but that’s not been the case with me. You will need to make sure the output levels on your modeler are properly set to get the most volume and avoid clipping. If you aren’t familiar with how to do this, I would suggest checking out YouTube videos by Jason Sadites or Steve Sterlacci on how to properly set patch levels. It’s super easy and mostly common sense, but something a lot of folks overlook. And don’t forget to include your solo boosts when setting levels!! Quality: By all appearances it seems very well built and sturdy and has a quality feel. I know there are people using these on the road and that also says a lot about the build quality. It’s been tossed in and out of my trunk a few times now with minimal wear and tear showing. It would be nice if it was made of birch and covered with Tolex, but that would only add to the cost and weight. As it is the box is solid. Value: At first glance $799 seems expensive for a 1×12 cab. However, when you consider what it can do that others can’t and then compare it to other 1×12 FRFR that are $1,000 and up it starts becoming a better and better value. If you don’t need MIDI or remote speaker switching, then there’s also the standard Powercab that’s a couple hundred less. Sounds the same just not as many features. Manufacturer Support: Over the years I’ve purchased quite a bit of Line6 gear and they have always provided me with great support. They have a very good user forum with plenty of knowledgeable and helpful people and Line6 also has reps in some of the larger gear forums. Line6 has a good history of product updates as well. The PC+ has already received an update with some additional features and I expect they will continue to update as needed. They seem to do a pretty good job of listening to their customers when it comes to requesting features etc. The Wow Factor: Speaker modeling, FRFR, and IR all in one cab that sounds really good. That’s pretty wow to me! I think this will appeal to players like myself who use modeling and are looking for the best sound without a lot of fussing, or just plain don’t like the sound of an FRFR as much as a normal amp and cab. Overall: I just went back to Helix after using Mesa MKV and Friedman JJ amps. The band doesn’t play a lot of gigs that require miking up the guitars or using direct FOH, so the speaker I chose had to sound great on its own and not just something to monitor myself with. The last time I went down the FRFR road it didn’t work out very well. I know it’s not the boxes it’s me, but regardless I got tired of constantly trying to find the right IR or thinking I found one that sounded good at home only to have it sound like crap at band volume yada yada. When I was researching speakers for the Helix I heard a lot of great things about the Powercab so I thought I’d give it a shot. The speaker modeling is somewhat unique, and I thought it might be the shorter path to better tone for me. It arrived 2 days after I ordered and the set up was very easy. I had already decided to use L6 link instead of XLR because I wanted to remotely control the cab via the Helix and not have to set up MIDI. Out of the box it was still on an old software version and needAllan
Everything I expected from Line 6. This Power Cab Plus 112 is blowing my mind right now. I usually never go with solid state amps. I've been playing through Fender Deluxe Reverbs, Hot Rod Deluxe' and my latest Fender Princeton Reverb. These are for sure amazing go to amps. However, to my ears, with the HELIX LT that I play through, I'm getting similar tones and even more using the built-in speaker models that come with stock with the Power Cab Plus 112. I've never had this much versatility in a rig before. I love it. I also use the genuine Line 6 L6 Link cable (witch is just a good quality AES/EBU cable) connected between my HELIX LT and the Power Cab Plus 112 so that I can change speaker models on the fly with my presets. I really can't ask for more. Simple, light weight, professional sounding tones, all at my toe tips. This is good times for sure.FELIX
I had high hopes, when I saw that Line 6 was offering powered speaker cabs, I thought wow ! Like the Tech 21 Power Engine but better !!!! Wrong… I sold my pair of Tech 21 Power Engines when I purchased a pair of these cabs… wrong move. I unpacked the Power Cabs and thought .. BEAUTIFUL !!! Sturdy, stylish… when I plugged in my HELIX…. I literally could not get a usable sound out of it, I fiddled for hours. After a few days of fiddling with new presets I was able to get a decent basic sound so I thought I was golden. I took it out for on gig doing a outdoor surf meet event… OUCH ! Fizzy, treble ridden, buzz saw city. I could not even get a decent volume from it, the tone because it was so "HIFI" was so buried in the mix I could barely hear myself. Besides the lack of volume, I could not believe the absolute atrocious tone I was getting(think BUZZSAW). This is not a good match for a helix or any floor processors or modelers. I regret getting rid of my Tech 21's they were a tad noisy but they sounded 100% better than these. I keep hearing and seeing the reviews for the Plus version, but seems odd that for something that is supposed to simply amplify the sound you get from your Helix would do such a poor job. WIth the covers and the shipping I paid mucho dinero so saying I am unhappy is an understatement. I've been told with tweaking you can get the cab to sound good, I've spent hours doing this. I don't think its possible. Avoid this… I have been using my cabs as vocal monitors, just because I would get smashed if I tried to sell them. I've used this for one gig, maybe 6 times at rehearsal, sadly they are horrible, giving it 2 stars is quite generous….Guitar Kahuna

Very impressive construction. The only (minor) problem is the mounting hardware for the speakers do not line up with the EMINENCE speakers I put in. It's only a minor problem because TWO of four positions on the speakers DO line up and hold the speakers firmly in place. Very well built, great price, quick delivery time. Well done.James T.
The Quality is Excellent. I paid the high price figuring I was helping a small American company make it thru these Covid times. I believe it's made overseas, not the end of the world, still helping somebody. There are many struggling Musicians and gear companies at this time. I rotate an Eminence Texas Heat and a Vintage 30 and they both sound great cranked up and at low volume with many different heads pushing it . I'm satisfieddatie_28
I was looking for a horizontal 212 cab and found your company. This thing is great!!!! I installed a couple of speakers I had and it matches my guitar head just great!! Quality built and should stand a lifetime of playing. Price was right also. I could not have built one any cheaper that looks this good. I will be adding a carry strap to top but that is my only negative. Great job everybody!!WILLIAM T.

Yes, there are cheaper options, just get this one. I am new to ReAmping and went down the rabbit hole. I actually upgraded to the EXTC version after once I knew what I wanted. Here's what you need to know if you're new to ReAmping and why you should get this: 1. You need two ReAmp boxes for a stereo source, one for a mono source. 2. If you are running your DAW audio to outboard, get two. There's no way around it. 3. This has ground lift to eliminate hum and get a clean signal and recording 4. This device only drops the signal DOWN to instrument level, so you will need to amplify the signal at the end of your pedal chain. This can be done via a Hi-Z input on your audio interface or a PreAmp (standalone or Mixer preamp with Hi-Z switch) – NOT a direct box 5. You can adjust the volume without overloading the guitar pedals 6. You can use this with a patchbay – you will need an XLR to TRS cable 7. Do not use a Direct Box in reverse, get the tools for the task It worked perfectly and opened up an entire new world of effects for me via guitar pedals. Honestly it inspired me to find the perfect tone for my sound and in the box sounds. I have a lot of vsts and sample libraries and this helped me get the most out of them. The Kami
I wnated to experiment with the benefits mentioned for re-amping technique in my home studio but without soending a fortune in equipment that may not be often or ever again used so; I found this unit from Radial and I am totally satisfied with its performance and with the possibilities that I have now for Guitars recording.Israel
How does the radial R8001125 (ProRmp) (it converts a line level signal to a instrument level signal?) differ from the HOSA MIT435? Is it correct that a device using and sending a line level signal (like a mixer) is also referred to as a low impedance device (low Z)? Is it also correct that a device using and sending an instrument level signal (like a guitar effects pedal) is also referred to as a high impedance device (high Z)? In other words, a guitar pedal expects a high impedance signal as well as sends a high impedance signal. I'm getting confusing answers.Christian

For those of you who like short reviews: Overall, I thought that this book was worth the cost. Here are some thoughts on specific sections I had as I read the book: This book was published over twenty-five years ago. I mention that only for those people who are concerned about such things. Designs for Tube-type Instrument Amps were more or less codified another twenty years before then, so it is pretty much a moot point for me. That said, there is a Chapter on Speakers that could be updated. While underlying concepts remain the same, today´s Speakers are made of new, improved materials. If you own a tube amp and know little or nothing about tube amps or amp electronics in general, then Chapters Fifteen and Sixteen, ´What NOT To Do´ and ´Technical Tips´ are probably worth the cost of the book right there. If your interest in this book is Amp Mods, be aware that the author is a Marshall kind of guy and although Basic Principles remain the same, modifications for other brands of amps are not described. There are also some Troubleshooting Flowcharts included. I have not had occasion to use them, but they look very well done. This book is not a collection of schematics and is not intended as that sort of reference work. Bearing that in mind, a few schematics or circuit sections could have been very helpful in illustrating the text. A sample schematic would be especially useful in the chapter on biasing. Final assessment: This is a good introduction to the topic of Tube Amps. Techs and other Advanced Readers might want to look elsewhere. This is Technical Material, so you can expect some Math, Science and Big Words, but there is nothing here beyond the High School level. Recommended for Beginners and Early Intermediate.michaelmx
Excelent. very interesting . Recommended.albertaudio
Any guitarist wanting to learn more about how their tube amp works and how to service it should consider picking up this book. Plenty of theory without it becoming overwhelming and lots of essential information how to keep your amplifier working. Highly recommended reading for all guitarists.dirtbomb666

Works perfect, built like a Tank. No hum like the variac I had. Use this with a '68 AB763 silver face drip edge blackline Super Reverb. My line voltage was consistently 125. I drop the voltage to 117 or below. Now I can crank the amp without blowing the 2amp fuse. Would recommend this for all vintage amps. Smooths out my Mark V as well.Ken

19. Radial – Jdx 48 Guitar Amp Direct Box
Product Details:
The radial jdx 48 reactor is a direct box designed to capture the explosive dynamics and warmth of an electric guitar amplifier by connecting between the guitar amp head and speaker cabinet. this delivers a sound that is similar to a well-placed microphone while eliminating the frustrating inconsistencies. the design begins with 100% discrete class-a circuitry and a transformer-coupled 'reactive load' that captures both the sound from the amp head along with the back electromagnetic impulse from the loudspeaker. this produces a more realistic rendering than the usual resistive pad offered by other manufacturers. the signal is then processed via a carefully designed multi-stage filter to emulate the tone of a 4×12 half stack cabinet. in use, the jdx 48 delivers greater consistency over a typical microphone as irregularities such as mic placement and varying acoustics no longer play the dominant role on stage. this is most appreciated when using in-ear monitors as the tone remains consistent from one show to the next, resulting in shorter setup times and a more comfortable audio feed for the artist. although originally designed for guitar, the jdx has also become a favorite on bass. the clarity and punch in the lower midrange delivers a tone that is reminiscent of an ampeg svt connected to an 8×10 cabinet. on guitar it sounds as if you have a shure sm57 in front of a marshall half-stack. this new version also offers greater power handling for 300 watt amps and extended low end for deep bass frequencies. the jdx 48 reactor the most natural sounding amp di ever!

Super easy to use, does not color your sound and no more mic problems. Great product.mayberry-blue
Awesome, simple to use, great, pure guitar tone, cab simulator on pointgupde
20. Auralex 48" X 360" Sheetblok Sound Barrier
Product Details:
The auralex sheet blok sound barrier is a dense, limp-mass vinyl material that's about 6d b more effective than a sheet of solid lead at stopping sound transmission. sheet blok acts as a thin, dense sound barrier layer in walls, ceilings, or floors. it's most effective when used as one component of a multi-layered construction scheme. auralex sheet blok helps in soundproofing floors and walls and, while it's not normally considered a finishing product per se, it can in some cases be your last layer if you make sure to carefully install it and use trim strips over its seams. auralex sheet blok can also be used to wrap hvac ducting, as a vent noise blocker, as a pipe noise insulator, or under carpet/carpet pad. it holds up against harsh environments and cuts easily with a utility knife or scissors. famous studio designers buy sheet blok sound barrier repeatedly.

Reviews:
I used this in the construction of a surround mixing control room – about 18' x 15' by 9'(height). Floated walls were built as shear walls using 2×6 studs to create 8" thick wall cavities. Miraflex was used on the inside followed by Proudfoot Acoustics equivilant to this product (barium impregnated vinyl) with 3/4 drywall on top. The ceiling was built as a standard ceiling but with the miraflex, vinyl, then drywall. The floor was a wood kit floor attacked to 1/8" sub floor with the vinyl below it.The result: This room had greatly minimized acoustic issues, was nearly flat in response, and was a joy to use. The vinyl had the effect of creating an astonishingly flat room response with few additional acoustic treatments. The ugly: I owned this studio for about a year before selling and the vinyl outgassing smell never left. I recommend using an additional product to "seal" the wall in order to minimize the smell.Recommendations: If you are building from the walls out, this product will save you money in acoustic treatments, and lessen ear fatigue. The weight is considerable so don't plan on hanging this stuff alone. Build the room out first then anylize the sound again before proceeding. This stuff will produce a wonderful sounding room if you work with it.Buy a nose plug too…. No regrets but I wish I had known about the smell. i would use this product again with no hesitation.
