Cant beat it for the price. It sounds and feels like a much more expensive guitar. Frets were pretty ruff, but I filed and dressed and got them to an acceptable place. I also had to sand bridge down to lower strings. Now action is nice.Electronics are nice. VERY nice wood in general. Beautiful spruce top. Mahogany back/sides quite nice. Love the headstock shape. I bought this guitar to check out a budget friendly offering from Yamaha. I have to say I was not disappointed! Excellent tone and volume, the top really resonates. The guitar was really well setup right out of the box. It needed about 3/4 of a clockwise truss rod adjustment, no prob. Other than that it didn't need any fret dressing whatsoever. That's really impressive for a Chinese guitar. Heck even one of my Mexican Martins needed fret dressing out of the box! Also intonation was spot on and this also is important in your guitar. Very impressed with this guitar, intermediate/advanced feel but priced at a beginner budget. You won't regret picking one up, I assure you!Big Bone Murphy
There is a point of quality when an instrument reaches when it stops being seen as "better or worse" but rather just a different flavor. This Yamaha has reached that point. You can play it alongside a guitar costing 5x more and it stands up well. Yamaha is also one of those rare companies with a long history of top quality across all kinds of products, and guitars are an area Yamaha knows well. This is just a beautiful guitar through and throughout. You can get beautiful uncompromisingly great studio recordings with this guitar. I've owned many acoustics over the years, MANY, and this Yamaha is one of the best sounding I've ever owned. Went to GC just to check out a few lower end acoustics to pick up for jamming on, and tried almost every one in the room. Picked this one up last just before I was ready to leave, and immediately was blown away by the sound and playability, brought a couple friends to listen and tell me which one they thought sounded the best, and hands down this won over all of them. It has the tone and warmth of a Martin D34, which I have owned a few, and it plays like a dream. The neck is so sliky smooth, easy to fly up and down with no effort. It has amazing sustain and beautiful tone, I fell in love with it and just couldn't put it down. I didn't expect a guitar of this price range to sound as good as it does, got it home and I couldn't put it down. Played for 4 hours straight, and even after trying to put it down to go to bed at 1am I found myself playing a for a few more minutes before I could actually go to sleep. Love this Yamaha more than any guitar I've bought in the last decade. The best thing about it is, It gave me the desire to pick up playing guitar again, after hardly touching any of my other guitars for almost a year it's the one I want to play more than all of them. I purchased this grade 3 scratch and, dent. I have purchased a few items this way and, a lot of dinero can be saved. It is just like a new guitar, there was a ding on the edge of the large bout, some of the finish had been broken and, a little bit of wood was gone but, not broken through. Fairly easy repair with some super glue, careful work on the spot, a little scraping of the glue after a few build up coats, some sanding with a very fine grit, polishing and, some buffing yeilded positive results. Well worth the small effort. Great playing and, sounding guitar. The Fishman electronics perform beautifully! Acousticly the Dred body puts out a lush full sound. I have a Breedlove concert with the same electronics, the sound is full, powerful and, comes through my Fishman Artist accurately and, full, no quacky piezo sound. I paid a lot more for my Breedlove but, this Mitchell is right there with it. Both excellent guitars. The main reason I purchased this Mitchell is because I was wanting a decent guitar as a backup that would not break the bank and, have all the goodies I was looking for and, this was it. I won't say what I paid but, it was a great deal and, with a little fixin I have a Great guitar! I would walk out on any stage and, perform with this instrument without any concerns. I will admit the Fishman electronics were a big selling point. I once owned a Taylor and, it was a beautiful guitar but, the electronics were sad. It went back to the store asap, it would not worked for me in a performance. Sorry Taylor. I would recommend this guitar to anyone, it's a tremendous buy and, a really nice guitar. For what it's worth I've been a musician for over 50yrs and, I know when something is good or not, it's just plain experience. I was looking for an inexpensive Acoustic Electric guitar with some quality. Wanting my cake and ear it to, well that's what I got! This guitar is really nice with excellent features that usually are not found in this pricerange. I purchased this as a scratch and dent, I have no problem with this because the instruments in this range are usually pretty decent with little or hardly any problems. This one had a small dent on the front large bout, a little super glue fill to level out the ding and, was good to go. It turned out to be a great deal with an easy fix and, ended up with an excellent guitar.terrygh

Look, just wanted to reply to some reviews that say this guitar sounds well…..thin. Duh, yes its not a jumbo acoustic or even a regular body acoustic. Its a thinline acoustic so it sounds just like what it is. Ive played several thinline guitars and they all sound…well…thin. That doesnt mean its cheaply made or a bad sounding guitar. It has its own sound. If you want a deep bass, then buy a jumbo or regular acoustic. I like the easy neck movement. The chords sound fine and this guitar doesnt require anymore tuning than any other in this price range. I tried ten guitars at guitar center including more expensive brands like fender, mitchell, yamaha and others and this was the only one under 400 dollars that stayed in tune from an E chord to a C chord. I bought it because Ive owned Ibanez before and never regretted it. To each his own but keep in mind a thinline guitar is not going to have a deep rich sound, but, I record my bass along with it so it sounds fine. After seeing some videos about this guitar and reading many reviews, I realised that it was a very good quality for the price!! This guitar is absolutely amazing, smooth, beautiful and the sound is truly beautiful, even better than I expected! I'm very satisfied! I live in Madeira Island and the product came relatively fast, for what I was very happy too!
I had been playing a very old and very nice acoustic at church for night service, and didn't want to subject it to the rigors of live playing on a regular basis. After some research, it came down to purchasing a Talman or a Stratacoustic. I went with the Talman due to the price, and Ibanez's reputation. When the guitar arrived, I was a little apprehensive as the neck felt awesome, but the setup was awful. The strings were heavy gauge, and were set way too high. After some work shaving down the bridge, changing to light strings, and adjusting the truss rod, this baby plays great! I love that the electronics are really easy to use, and it was made to plug in. The sound when you are practicing unplugged isn't as full or rich as you get with a full sized acoustic, but this guitar wasn't made for that – it was made to be plugged in. I was able to eliminate having to use pedals to get the proper volume and EQ, which makes the live rig way easier to set up and tear down. I play it through a Line 6 spider II 75 watt head running through a Marshall 4×12 cabinet. The spider's clean channel is great for acoustic as it does not color the tone, and the Marshall is plenty loud for a church sanctuary. Overall, I am quite happy with the Talman, even though I had to put in some extra work to get it the way I like my guitars. It is a steal at the price if you have the skills and are willing to play with the setup.Stratbuilder

For what it is – a very cheap, small, travel guitar, this is great. You'll need a strap as it doesn't sit high enough on your leg to be comfortable to play. Also – the action was high, but a bit of adjusting with a belt sander on the saddle and that came down well. The scale length is short, but plays OK – takes a bit of getting used to from my full-sized acoustics. Putting a capo on it and making chords further up the neck is tight, but OK. Sound is very good for a travel guitar of this size. This would be a great kids guitar or even for an adult beginner. I did put 11s on it – sounds a bit weaker, but is fine, and that's what I use on my other acoustics. I had a washburn rover before – this is better, though not as small, but worth the extra size, I think. I have a GS Mini, which is much better, but a good bit larger, and much more expensive. Tuner works good, haven't tried plugging it in yet. Bought this for the boat – seems pretty sturdy.Alexander
I bought this guitar because I have chronic pain and am a small lady and found that even smaller acoustic guitars are too big and bulky and unplayable. I like to play high up on the neck so wanted a cutaway and occasionally perform so having an electro-acoustic version means it ticks all the boxes. When play acoustically it does sound really tinny, there's not getting away from that. It also tends to be unbalanced toward the neck end, so I need a strap to keep it in place. But it is much more playable for practice and I am almost managing to play bar chords again. Not chance on a normal size guitar. It has a full fret board just smaller but not too small.Michelle S.
I ordered this for my pastors wife who wanted to learn a new instrument. She is tiny ( less that 5 ' tall) and a full size guitar would not fit her body type. I was shocked when the guitar came in. The photos on line do not do the finish justice. I was even more shocked when I played it. Most student guitars in this price point have horrible action. The set up on this from the factory was great. It was very easy to play and the sound was extremely good for a thin body acoustic . Then we plugged it in. I could not believe the sound quality of the electronics in this guitar. On Sunday, I pulled out after church and let the music team take turns with it. Everyone that played it raved about every aspect of this little guitar. The instrument also came with a quality gig bag. The material was thick, padding was good, the zippers and hardware appeared to by sturdy. Even more importantly, she loved the guitar. . Now let me set the scene… I am a guitar lover (I can even play a little too) and a quality professional so My expectations are somewhat higher than most looking at this product. An absolutely beautiful instrument, this is my second SA360 and although they are no longer. Made in Japan, be assured they have not lost any of the build quality or attention to detail. The guitar was really well set up, is great to play, feels good in the hand and sounds the bee’s knee’s. If you are looking to start out in guitar playing get yourself an Ibanez Gio to start as a first upgrade from that, then the SA series is where you want to be at.Timbo
Overall: For 100 bucks less than a Japanese made RG550 I'll say the quality of this Indonesian assembled guitar is sub-par albeit correctable. All hardware was loose. Blase switch wast rubbing against finish. Tone and volume pots were pushed down into contact with body. Gold playing on bridge pick-up shows nickel plating already. Action was set so low that it was unplayable. Some frets are razor sharp at the edge of the fretboard. Neck and fretboard are dry as a bone, and need to be sanded and sealed. The grain was raised when I unboxed. Which basically tells me that there was very little if any polyurethane applied to the neck or fretboard. As with all Indonesian guitars ai take this as an opportunity to fix these little things on my own, but you are better off getting an RG550 Genesis. The quality is far superior. Also the paint is awful, and the plating on all gold plated surfaces are sure to deteriorate quickly. One note: Sounds has nothing to do with these inadequacies or defects. Ibanez should just seize operations in Indonesia, as should all other guitar manufactures. Indonesian guitars are ok enough to correct, but even at the 800 dollar mark you should get a 100% gigable axe. This is not at that level.
I've owned this guitar for a year. I own more than a few Ibanez, with about half of them being Prestige and the others being 80's/90's Fujigen Ibby's, 2010's Iron Labels and Premium. I love this RGA and it's remarkably well spec'ed for most anything a diverse player will want. What it isn't: it isn't a prestige and it doesn't feel like it. That's not a bad thing; the roasted maple neck is amazing, feels comfortable, but the fingerboard does feel a little different (given the wood type). The only real negative I find is that the finish (the actual finish) feels like it's very delicate. I can see this finish cracking easily with an everyday bump. I hang my guitars and pull them just to record, so not a n issue for me, but it definitely feels very delicate. The only other reasonable complaint is that for the pricepoint, it should include at least a gig bag. This is basically a 1,000 dollar guitar.

I really liked this little guitar, BUT…I read the reviews and decided to buy in-store so I could play the guitar before buying, and I'm SO glad I did. I went into my local Guitar Center and played THREE of these Martin LX1E guitars, including one that had been specially unboxed so I could try it after two others failed my examination. All three guitars had a very pronounced buzz in the frets. It was not that noticeable when I played them acoustically, but the buzz was very noticeable when I plugged them in to an amp. I even tested the amp with other guitars, to make sure it wasn't the amp. It wasn't. Its a great little guitar, great tone and very playable, BUT my advice would be not to buy this one on-line. Play it first. Play up and down the whole fretboard, and plug it into an amplifier and play again. I have been playing for more than fifty years and have never experienced playing three brand new Martins that were simply not up to snuff. Weird!Tele Playr
The guitar itself can have five stars. Nothing wrong with it. The problem I have is that it is not the old LX1E lefty that Martin used to make and I used to own. It is advertised incorrectly here as containing the Fishman I-sys electronics that contained a volume, base/treble controls and a phasing button for feedback. It also no longer contains the tuner. This is basically the LX1 Little Martin with a Sonitone pickup under the bridge and tone/volume control in the sound hole, which I despise. I prefer the old version where the tuner and controls were on top side (as shown in the picture variety). This needs to be updated!!! I now have no tuner on this guitar when I fully expected one. I would recommend the Little Martin guitar but it needs to be advertised correctly.Jules
I bought this guitar for my son so he can have a smaller guitar to lug around in school. We were surprised when we received the product that the pickup that was installed is a Sonitone pickup instead of what's advertised – an Isys T preamp. The Isys preamp has a tuner, phase and tone control whereas the Sonitone is built into the sound hole and only has the volume and tone control. I brought this up with customer support saying I only wanted the product that I thought we were buying. I received excuses and a repeated offer to return the guitar. We chose to keep it because we need it and like the Martin sound. However MF does not stand up to what they advertise and could not provide a reasonable explanation why the product was switched. Even as I write this review, the description still says it has the Isys pickup. Good luck to future buyers and know that you are buying a different product.Pasigenyo

This is advertised as a florintine in write-up and pictures. The one the shipped me was not a floritine but a rounded cut away. Not sure if this was a production change or what. In spite of quality issues, the sound is beautiful. It has a smaller body than I expected but it still projects nicely. I like the neck feel and the small body make it comfortable to play. If the quality was as good as my last Washburn I would give it a 10. I really like the guitar, but quality is way less than expected based on other Washburn product I have seen. Nice having the tuner built in. I like sliders for controls better than small knobs. Disappointed. Bought for my son. I would return it but he played it and says he wants to keep it. The pictures and writ-up say it is a Florintine cut away. It is not. Nice flame maple top. Resonable fret work. Varnish has some runs and imperfections. Sand marks in neck under the varnish, does not effect play or feel. Also some glue left at some joints and binding less than perfect. Not as well built as my 11 year old Washburn D10CEB was. Hard to beat the price but quality is not what I expected from Washburn.srk
Overall this guitar is fantastic! Perfect beginner sized guitar that I will enjoy for years to come! First and formost I would like to state that this guitar is exactly like shown in the picture above. As you can see in the above picture the body comes to a curved edge by the cutaway not a sharp one making it a venetian body style not a florenine like stated in the discription! Other then that, the onboard tuner is really cool with its LCD screen and tuning nobs (not sliders)! The light D'Addario strings sit close to the fret board making this a very easy to play guitar! All wood work is incredible and looks beautiful!! Only thing I see that could possibly be wrong is the white binding on the neck has some hairline cracks right under the fret bars but every guitar I have played has these! Outside of that, the quality of this guitar is awesome! There are no runs, left over glue, scratches or anything! The flame top looks amazing and is absolutely flawless! Very deep shine and the internals look pristine! Very, very good quality as you should expect from a Washburn guitar! Tough to beat the value of this guitar with the quality and beauty of this instrument!

I usually don't leave negative reviews. This guitar is beautiful, it sounds amazing. However, I just can't believe that guitar center would let this be shipped. The neck seems fine but every fret divider is razor sharp. It's so uncomfortable that I have quit playing it. Living in a small town it's very expensive to return stuff, so I guess it will just sit for now. To guitar centers credit, I have shopped there for many years and never been disappointed. But gee guys, why wouldn't you be checking this stuff? If I picked it off your wall I would never buy it unless you fixed it for me. Sorry but this sucksJohn
Tried out two of these at the local store looking for a first guitar for my son. Both sounded pretty good for the price point, but both had problems with the neck and really terrible frets. Terrible like not safe for children or unsuspecting adults – they both had sharp edges sticking out the whole length of the neck. Between that, some minor string buzz, a crazy high 9th fret on one, and iffy intonation on the other, it just didn't seem worth getting either of them. What's the point of getting a low priced guitar if you have to spend $100+ getting it worked over to make it playable? I suspect that the neck binding makes it difficult for the factory to really get the frets properly dressed and still pass cosmetic inspection. It may be I just had the bad luck to find the two worst examples of this model in the same store, but I suggest you move up notch in price range and you will be happier with what you get.triple.ratrider

The Fender CD-60 sce is a quality guitar for the money. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate player the guitar seems to be built to last. The solid spruce top and the internal build of the guitar creates a good sound that allows the treble tones to ring out, as well as keep the mellow low tones of a Fender guitar. The narrow neck, and thin profile allows for somebody with smaller hands to play it a little easier. As any new guitar especially at this price point, you can make some adjustments to help with the action and minor fret BuZz, but overall out of the packaging the guitar comes ready to play and sounds very good. Fishman and Fender partnering up in the pickup make a quality sound out of the PA. Remember there is better quality gear and guitars out there, but this guitar does exceed it's price point in the quality it produces.
First of all, this is a gorgeous guitar. It looks just great. It has a big, rich sound even moreso than other larger bodied guitars I've seen. The tuner works great. I love playing it. A few minor issues. First, I find the action high, & the bridge is not adjustable. 2nd, the complaints others have offered about the fret edges being VERY rough are entirely true: you can practically leave your hand bloody, I'm sure, if you play long enough, just from being roughed up by the fret edges. I'll try filing them down & refinishing them, as some have suggested. Finally, you'll want to get rid of the strings & go with a lighter gauge, partly to alleviate the high action issue. I'd get this guitar again. I think it is a $500 – $600 guitar lurking for only a little more than half that price. But before recommending it to a friend, I'd point out these couple issues.DET
Poor quality control! Neck is a mess with all of the fret ends protruding and sharp. One fret is noticeably higher causing all kinds of issues. Inside edge of the sound hole is poorly finished and some of the ribs look rough, like they weren't sanded smooth. This one's going back!Bill

I played this compared to the Fender FA-135CE, the Yamaha FGX800C, and the Ibenez Talman before making a decision. This guitar has a deeper, more bass filled sound compared to those three instruments. It was very playable and setup well from the factory, and the electronics sound great. The only downside is that in the time I've had this guitar is seems fairly easy to dent, I've knocked it against a few things on accident and now I can feel bumps on the neck and on the body of the guitar. I don't know if other acoustics are more or less durable though. Overall, if you can be gentle with your instruments or keep them in a gig bag, case, or on a stand, I highly recommend this guitar. Plugged in it sounds really nice, unplugged it has a lighter tone, definitely accentuates each note very well. Comes with nice strings on it, the preamp works as it should, looks great, fretboard feels real nice. On sale I definitely recommend this guitar for anyone in that beginner to intermediate stage. You will have to adjust the action using the included truss rod if you're someone who does more than just chords though. Overall a really solid guitar.Zack
The guitar looks and feels great, but after a few months of owning it the top started to warp around the bridge causing a buzz on the low e string. If you want to buy this I recommend also buying a guitar humidifier to prevent this issue. I have seen the same issue on other Mitchell guitars while going to guitar center.Thomas Y

I really like the size and sound of the Grand Performance Martin guitars. The low end has enough "boom" and higher end "sparkles." The construction of this guitar with solid sapele back and sides and a solid spruce top helps to bring out the sounds I like so well in Martin guitars. I've played a DRS1, DRS2, an 000-10e, a GPC-13e and this GPC-11e, and they are all consistent and well built. I really like the new pickup systems that they've added to the new series in as much as it includes the lighted tuner inside the sound hole. The fingerboard is smooth and fast; I like the Richlite. Sapele is a lot like Mahogany, so this is a very fine combination of woods. The tuners hold it in tune just fine. The bag it comes with is nicer than I had expected, it gives good protection. Not like a real hard-sided case, but good. And it's lightweight but with a strong zipper. Good tone wood is getting harder to source for these guitar makers. I'm very happy I could find a gem like this one with these fine materials.Boomer
+ I have chosen this type of guitar for fingerstyle, but this is also an excellent guitar for playing, both as a mediator and for strumming. Comfortable space between strings. Comfortable shape. Great sound. It's a real allrounder. Very comfortable neck (I'm used to a fender player strat, which I also love). Tuning machines are stable. – It is difficult to play right out of the box – very high string action. Taking a barre at the first fret was not an easy task. Wore to the master for tuning. Corrected the neck nut – now playability is excellent. Not visible to the eyes, but master told about frets irregularities. It seems that sanding will be required to align, but I don’t hear any problems, so maybe a little later. + The soft case isn't what I bought for, but it's a cool thing. Strict and stylish. Already useful. Overall, I am satisfied and would recommend the guitar.
Overall: I have bought and played so many electric guitars over the years and never really looked into buying an acoustic guitar for myself. I have an old epiphone acoustic laying around that was given to me by a friend years ago, but I never bought a decent one to play for myself. So I went about on YouTube of course to look at some reviews. There’s a lot of acoustic guitars out there so it’s very hard to make a decision based on them alone. I really did want a Martin so I knew that much. and, at that time thought they were very expensive. that they were really expensive.Then I found a really nice review of this Martin guitar and a Taylor. To me the Martin blew it away, and that had me sold. The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn’t play the Martin because I don’t have any music stores close to me. So I just decided to buy this, and boy am I satisfied! I’ve had it for a week now and I just love it. The sound is BIG and it’s a very, very light acoustic guitar. The setup is great out of the box and I think it’s a great guitar for the money. I know that maybe there is a guitar out there that may sound better and might be cheaper, but I just don’t have the time to go that deep into researching the internet to find one. And I have played Martins before, so I trusted the name. If you are looking to buy an acoustic for anything you are doing, this is a great choice of guitar to get. I’m very happy with my purchase, and zZounds makes it very easy to pay, I may add. Don’t hesitate on this guitar. It plays great, sounds great and looks wonderful! I’m very happy with my purchase! Also, it sounds great plugged in and the tuner right below the high E string is very nice to have in there. You don’t even notice it’s there when you aren’t tuning the guitar. For the money, I couldn't find a better acoustic guitar (A new one anyways). I've owned many high end Martins, but I wanted something that was easy to travel with and I wouldn't worry about if it got scratched/dented. Out of the box the action and intonation were very close to perfect. I adjusted the truss rod myself to fit my playing preference, and the intonation was so close I doubt anyone will notice when playing further up the neck. The building materials are not great, but once again, "for the money"… My only con is they don't have a hard shell case for this particular model. The included soft shell case is still convenient, but I kind of wish they'd make a HSC like they did for the dreadnaught model.Garrett G.
This guitar is good for the money. Neck straight. All workmanship is precise. Light and not overly heavy from clear coat gunk. Neck is short but wide. Strings that came on it went in trash in 5 min. Use Lixrs on these small guitars. Nuff said…Not too small like Martin mini where you fight it not to be a uke and it really is. Quality is near perfect. Case is the good one like the minis. Doesnt feel like a GS mini which feels too small. This guitar feels good but smaller that normal. Set up fine out of box (which is more than I can say for the USA models). Ready to play. I will prob change out stock pickup for DTar syemour duncan wavelength solo later. Not that the stock pickup is bad; just like seymour better for acoustic under saddle "non-quack" pickup. If you know how to use an eq then dnot need that extra tone button anyway, plus fihsman is kind of not great stuff. After about 10yrs needed something better. Overall: I purchased this guitar for practice, and to record licks for quick pre-production ideas. My Taylor GS Mini does not have electronics and I wanted to add a Martin to my collection anyway. When plugged in the Martin sounds very rich and there is almost no sound degradation between plugged and mic’d, very impressive! The fingerboard is wider than the one on my Taylor GS and as a result is much easier to play for me. This guitar is not as rich sounding or as comfortable as my Washburn 55 Comfort Series but the sound, the cut-away, and the small size makes this my choice for those quick pre-productions or gigs.Installation of an onboard tuner would make this guitar perfect in my opinion.

This was an "upgrade" from a slightly more expensive Yamaha concert body guitar, which was totally fine, but I feel like I just went from playing with a casual acquaintance to falling madly in love. There really is something about the Martin sound – crisp, clear, resonant, responsive, with an absolutely gorgeous sparkle in every note. It responds with subtlety and nuance to fingerpicking, and also sounds great with a pick, with slight differences in attack and tone from thicker to thinner and different pick materials. The 24.9 scale and slightly smaller body size is super comfortable and easy to play, and the acoustic output is perfect for singer/songwriter accompaniment. I haven't plugged it in yet, but I'm sure it'll play nicely with amplification when needed. Big thanks to Dana at the NYC store for hooking me up with this beauty!Mark

This is another addition to my earlier post I still like the guitar as I mentioned before but when I just now went to record using the pickup system I was not pleased. At least to my ears it sounds like a very low end piezo under the bridge like the earliest kinds in the 80's buzzy and thick lacking in any of the subtle sounds I get playing it acoustically.Petros
Up front I like brighter sounding acoustics (and electrics) and this model Martin was a real revelation. It feels like an electric neck to me so easy to play and the workmanship is outstanding. I was a little thrown by the bolt in neck but I get it now, it allows for owner adjustments (though I would still take it to a luthier) but what floored me was how singing this guitar is all the way up, even chords up at the 12+ frets sound full and loud. This is a pretty darn loud guitar. It has a nice deep penetrating low end but not a fat low end like a more traditional expensive Martins it has bite but a very appealing musical bite. (Think P90 as opposed to Humbuckers) (I'm speaking only played acoustic have not plugged it in yet) again I like it because it sings with a great sustain but not too much low end which can be difficult to record and sing against. Notes just seem to push tone out I was able to push this guitar until it seemed like the strings were rubber bands but it never quit it just kept the tone clear and ringing. Love the design of the bouts feels great to have on your lap. It sounded great flat picked finger picked nail picked strummed hammered pulled nothing did not sound excellent to my ears. I also tried a Taylor 214 CE K which I thought sounded great on videos but wow it sounded choked in many ways and chords that barked out and shouted on the Martin sounded muffled and pretty weak on the Taylor. That's when I decided this Martin was it. (In some ways this guitar sounds like a 12 string because of the bell like clarity and definition just what I was looking for).Petros

This is advertised as a florintine in write-up and pictures. The one the shipped me was not a floritine but a rounded cut away. Not sure if this was a production change or what. In spite of quality issues, the sound is beautiful. It has a smaller body than I expected but it still projects nicely. I like the neck feel and the small body make it comfortable to play. If the quality was as good as my last Washburn I would give it a 10. I really like the guitar, but quality is way less than expected based on other Washburn product I have seen. Nice having the tuner built in. I like sliders for controls better than small knobs. Disappointed. Bought for my son. I would return it but he played it and says he wants to keep it. The pictures and writ-up say it is a Florintine cut away. It is not. Nice flame maple top. Resonable fret work. Varnish has some runs and imperfections. Sand marks in neck under the varnish, does not effect play or feel. Also some glue left at some joints and binding less than perfect. Not as well built as my 11 year old Washburn D10CEB was. Hard to beat the price but quality is not what I expected from Washburn.srk
Overall this guitar is fantastic! Perfect beginner sized guitar that I will enjoy for years to come! First and formost I would like to state that this guitar is exactly like shown in the picture above. As you can see in the above picture the body comes to a curved edge by the cutaway not a sharp one making it a venetian body style not a florenine like stated in the discription! Other then that, the onboard tuner is really cool with its LCD screen and tuning nobs (not sliders)! The light D'Addario strings sit close to the fret board making this a very easy to play guitar! All wood work is incredible and looks beautiful!! Only thing I see that could possibly be wrong is the white binding on the neck has some hairline cracks right under the fret bars but every guitar I have played has these! Outside of that, the quality of this guitar is awesome! There are no runs, left over glue, scratches or anything! The flame top looks amazing and is absolutely flawless! Very deep shine and the internals look pristine! Very, very good quality as you should expect from a Washburn guitar! Tough to beat the value of this guitar with the quality and beauty of this instrument!
