1. G&l Tribute L2000 Electric Bass Guitar Tobacco Sunburst Rosewood
Product Details:
When leo fender launched the g&l l-2000 bass in 1980, it was clear he was ready to make history all over again. never before had such a wide range of tones come from a single bass, and throughout its evolution the iconic l-2000 has continued to win the hearts of bassists of every style and musical taste. the foundation of the l-2000 is a pair of g&l magnetic field design humbuckers backed by the flexible tri-tone control system, providing the sort of versatility that’ll let you find your tone no matter what kind of bass line you’re laying down. the tri-tone system features a trio of mini toggles for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation, as well as a trio of knobs for volume, treble and bass. with all that under the hood, leo gave the l-2000 the kind of chops that’ll fit in any situation, from classic r&b to power-packed rock to poppin’ funk. what’s more, the l-2000 features an innovative leo fender-designed saddle-lock bridge to transfer string energy right into the body end-grain for an incredibly resonant instrument. the tribute series l-2000 delivers the magic of leo’s revolutionary bass at a price attainable for every working musician. once you play a g&l tribute series, you’ll never look back.

The bass was in near perfect condition and was delivered quickly. I had to get on line to understand the switches and their correlation to the knobs- but they are lined up in a logical manner and bottom line, i really like the bass! As a matter of fact, it has replaced my other basses as my main axe. It has a great sound that has growl when played hard and good tone all around. It has active, passive, parallel and series pick up options and more. The bass is put together well and is what i would call- 'Solid'. i am very pleased. I supposed the Tribute is supposed to be lower than GnL's high end line, but i can't see any short cuts. I like it!~ghevanone
I bought this bass for use in my project studio. I needed a bass that would cover a lot of different sounds and textural feel. I have not been disappointed. It is extraordinarily easy to play and very versatile and I think you would be hard pressed to find better build quality for the money. The G&L is leagues better than the Fenders I've played in the same price range, and much higher. Great for Studio use, or intermediate players looking to move up to a serious instrument.jacobassus

This bass is amazing! Tons of useful tonal possibilities. After checking lots of different basses, this one has the largest palate that I've found. Importantly, it covers the jazz bass and stingray territory well. Love the active/passive and series/parallel switching.Jim the Runner
Brilliant sounding and playing bass let down by a hair line crack in the body finnish at the heel of the neck. This was caused by the neck being badly seated into a tight pocket that contained wood shavings when the neck was removed for reseating. Naughty quality control at the factory tut tutReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
I ordered this guitar in the sale on New Years day and I eventually received it on 12th January but sadly it was badly damaged in transit due to exceptionally poor packaging. The end result was that the guitar was no longer available and I would have to choose another or I could wait and they may get stock in the future or a refund. So I purchased a different guitar and I have that now they knocked me £20 off for the hassle of having to buy a different guitar bearing in mind I ended up spending £600 more so you would have thought a bigger gesture but hey I have my guitar.Tim D.
3. G&l Clf Research L-2000 Electric Bass Old School Tobacco
Product Details:
Player's perspective the l-2000 combines unmatched comfort with versatile, powerful electronics, creating one of the best all-purpose basses on the market. making this even cooler is the throwback aesthetics to back when leo fender was first designing this model. the neck is slimmer than modern l-2000's. but what you'll immediately notice is the old-school g&l headstock (without the pointy horn on the bottom) and the old-school control plate. the bass sounds like an l-2000 through and through. the only changes are the aesthetics and the neck shape… but boy, it does look really cool and is a welcomed throwback to the l-2000's infancy. one could easily argue that g&l's legacy would not be what it is today if it weren't for the invention of this particular instrument. the neck and fretboard feel incredibly smooth. open-position grooves are easy, and the upper register is very forgiving on your playing hand. g&l uses a smooth, velvety finish on their necks, so the wood still f…

Reviews:
Sound: Amazing zZounds (see what I did there?) IT is very easy and smooth playing neck, easy to get up and down the fretboard. Features: The components are solid, they feel satisfying like those old stereos in the 60's and 70's when you turn them, smooth and sure like they won't crap out on ya. Ease of Use: easy peasy. Quality: Oh my, stunning, a work of art Value: YEs Manufacturer Support: Yes, Made in California, quality craftsmanship The Wow Factor: Very High, although Music Man seems to be more "popular" but they are pretty close to the same things from a design aspect. Overall: First off, G&L. If you don't know who they are then please look up the history. This was designed by Leo Fender, I guess he left Fender, started Musicman and G&L (not sure of the order) so these basses have lineage. the L-2500 is made in California, comes in a case with certificate (I called them adoption papers because it feels like this will be with me for the rest of my life.) Very nice all the way around. The set-up was pretty good, all things considered. But wow, it feels like such quality. the knobs are heavy and feel firm, industrial, like they could become artifacts of history and still work. The strings set at a nice action and spacing all the way up the neck, it is comfortable, a little heavy but it is a nice hunk of wood. The bone nut and frets were perfect, the strings were strung nicely with not too much extra on the tuners and angle at the headstock leaves me feeling confident it will be an easy bass to keep intonate-ed. The bridge looks solid, heavy and all around this bass just screams take me into battle or play a set, or both, and it doesn't care what order you do them in either. Solid craftsmanship and a stunning work of art, and it just looks like it will be banging around long after I am dead and gone….a solid bass.Kelleigh
6. G&l Tribute L-2000 Bass – Blueburst
Product Details:
Good ol' g and l l2000. let me be perfectly honest- this is the single greatest "value" instrument i maybe have ever played. it just plays so smooth and sounds so much better than an instrument twice it's cost. i would put this up against any major manufacturer at twice the cost easily. it pains me to let it go, but the music room is full and things need to go, and when it comes down to it, i can part with this much easier than my 80's japanese babies. condition is great, no scratches to speak of, there is some buckle and play rash, but nothing a good polish shouldn't take care of. action is nice and low, very little if any fret wear.

Reviews:
Overall: I've never owned a US made G&L until now. The quality is really amazing. Gorgeous bass and the tone is exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I had to do was add a neck shim to get the action where I wanted it since the E and G string saddles were bottomed out. That is common for me since I do play with super low action. Once that quick and easy adjustment was made, the playability went through the roof. The fretwork is immaculate which helped achieve the crazy low action. This bass really feels handcrafted too. Other manufactures say handcrafted a lot but this is the first bass that actually feels like it. It really feels like a bass from back in the day. Really happy with this bass!Nick

Reviews:
I bought this for my son before Christmas and he was blown away! He loves playing this bass! I’m impressed by the quality of construction and my son has been playing it non stop. I’ve been a customer of AMS for several years and they have been my exclusive shop for all of the gear that our four musician household could ever need. Thanks once again American Musical!Ronald A.
I previously purchased the U.S. version of this bass in tangerine and I loved it; except for the color. The color was more like bright metal flake orange than tangerine metallic and although the bass played great and sounded amazing I returned it. After seeing Ed Friedland (the Bass Whisperer) review both versions on YouTube I decided to try this one. Although it looks kind of plain it plays and sounds almost as good as the U.S. version for half the price. I’d highly recommend it if you want a great sounding, comfortable and easy to play short scale.Ranger Sarge
11. G&l Placentia Jb Electric Bass Vintage White
Product Details:
This has been played for a few minutes, but i have too many guitars and basses in the studio at this time, so i am looking to part ways. this g&l is basically a copy of a jazz bass and sounds very similar to the fender jazz bass series. it's smooth and easier to play than a gloss neck, which allows you to focus on being creative and not so much what your fingers are doing.

I have been playing bass since 1979. I have mostly play my original 1979 Fender Pbass. I bought a G&L Tribute Jbass a couple years ago and have played it almost exclusively since. I bought this 'Placentia JB Electric White' a couple months ago as a spare. It has a flawless and beautiful finish and look. Took a little work to make it play right. The Placentia is a MUCH cheaper bass than the Tribute. A- The tuners are of lesser quality, and do slip a little. B- The neck was bowed, so I did adjust the truss rod. C- The front pickup was so deep in the body, I had to fish it out and support it properly. D- The (bridge) string adjustment allowed me to lift the low E string off the neck. E- The nut fell off when I loosened the strings. D- Much CHEAPER bridge than the one G&L are famous for. F- HERE'S THE GOOD… The pickups sound really nice! My nephew said it's a good deal if you have some luthier skills for minor adjustments… I agree. The best way to describe it is like this: G&L is to USA Fender Tribute G&L is Squire Placentia G&L is Affinity The issues I've listed are from my experience. The other basses might play perfectly out of the box. You get what you pay for. If you can afford it, I suggest the Tribute Jbass. The quality is solely on G&L, not Musiciansfriend. I always find Musiciansfriend easy and eager to work with. I came close to returning the bass, but I've made work for what I wanted. I do wish they came with a gig bag.Joe
This is my 2nd G&L bass…I love them both. The other is a natural finish and I use it with a natural finish Les Paul. This is a beautiful white bass that matches up with my white Nashville Telecaster that I bought from GC. My wife and I play as a duo. She plays piano and Hammond sk88 and I switch off on guitar and bass. I prefer this G&L to all the other bass guitars I own…plays and sounds great,,,has rhe tones that fit our style of music.Dean
