Reviews:
I'm a collector and player of the unique and unusual of the big brand and some off brand stuff. Never been a huge Gibby fan, even though in a classic rock guy. The flying v crescent moon is wonderful though, and has a vibe and feel all its own. When you think that legends from Hendrix to king played them, and had a style all they're own, the V just has its own place in the guitar world. I swapped the hot ceramic Gibby pups for some Seymour Duncan's with chrome covers, as I wanted a more dressed look and blues warmth from this lightweight but oh so solid beast. I did the graphitec saddles as well, again for a warm vibe. The result is amazing, period. I'll put her against anything from anybody in tone, weight, style, playability and feel. Even before the mods, still best of the best. All welds perfect, fret work perfect, finish accomplished the look of a vintage road warrior. Nickle hardware, true Ebony fretboard, feels like one gorgeous piece of mahogany in your arms as the neck and body are so perfectly set together.golfn64
This guitar sounds so good, it's hard to say if it's the wood or pickups. Who cares? It sounds good. Good tone and sustain. I look forward to playing it. Tuning is easy, playing it is comfortable. It has the original good looks that the Flying V was made with. I have heard people with Gibsons say that they with the knobs were like on my V. They also liked the placement of the jack. Which, I want to say, are 2 solid reasons I wanted this guitar. The Through-the=body stop and the jack at the end of the wing tip. Very nice.David
Gibson Flying V. Antique natural. Low action and great playability from factory. Awesome fretboard even though multiple tool marks around fret ends. Good access. Pickups sound good clean and can get hot enough for metal with a boost. Nice grain in wood. Couple small sand marks under nitro. Neck feels great. Giving it 4 stars for cosmetic issues but played so well did not send it back or even pursue price reduction. Case is very nice. AMS great as always. Killer payment plans and fast shipping.Todd

Reviews:
I am thoroughly disappointed in the quality of the paint job on this guitar. The finish looks and feels like it wasn't sanded smooth, and the paint job is cheesy. You can see the un-smoothness of the wood. Also, the pick-guard has a bunch of scratches, and a couple of spots where it's damaged and white shows through the black finish of the pick guard. $1,499 plus tax and shipping for an instrument that is damaged and has a worse fit and finish than my $199 Epiphone SG. The pick guard protective plastic had been removed, which, along with the scratches/damage, tells me this was used and returned, and sold again to me as new. I complained and they've offered me a $120 refund. Not happy with my first and last experience with American Musical Supply.
Great comfortable weight and excellent sustain. I'd prefer a hotter set of pickups such as the 500t or Dirty Fingers but the 490 set will suit the majority of rock players just fine. That is a subjective matter regarding pickups. It comes with a super nice case and my example has no flaws whatsoever. I'd suggest applying some conditioner to the fretboard early on as it seems most newer fretboards are on the dry side- regardless of brand. No sharp fret ends are present here. I really like the simple control layout. I've had it well over a month so I'm well out of honeymoon stage. This one is so good that I do not see the benefit of buying the next one up for a $300 upcharge, that is unless you simply don't like the green.
This is my first Gibson. I have a bunch of Fender strats and a few Ibanez guitars that I love, but the sound from this guitar is so nice. Really nice clean sounds and amazing crunch. The setup on the guitar was perfect out of the box. The guitar isn't heavy and feels comfortable to play standing or sitting. It doesn't feel bottom heavy like a few Les Pauls I have tried in the past. I really like the olive drab color. Makes this guitar really stand out in my collection.Kris A.

Reviews:
Overall: I bought this guitar from zZounds a few weeks ago. First of all, I love the way it looks. When I opened the box, the strings were set very high from the fretboard. I had to lower the bridge to remedy this. It buzzed and fretted out. So I changed the stock strings which were Gibson 10s to D'Addario 9s. It helped but it still buzzed a lot. Thankfully, when plugged into an amp the buzz doesn't pick up. It plays well, but it feels sort of cheap. An almost plastic feel.I swore I would never buy a Chinese guitar. I own a Jackson USA King V, a Gibson USA 60s Tribute SG, a made in Japan Jackson Dinky, a made in Japan Ibanez Prestige, a made in Japan Edwards/ESP V, a Mexican Strat, a Korean made Fernandes Vortex and a Korean made Wolf "Les Paul"You can feel the difference in quality, BUT…It is a nice guitar, even though $900 is a little steep for a guitar that is made in China.Chris
My first electric guitar was an ebony v made by epiphone. I lost track of it over the years and was feeling nostalgic when I saw this one online at American Musical. They were out of stock at the time so I asked to be notified when more came in. Anyway, a few weeks later they were back in stock and I ordered it as soon as I got the notification. Shipping was fast and it came in brand new and in great shape. Looks good and it is just as good as I remembered. Epiphone makes great guitars so don't be a guitar snob because it isn't a Gibson. If you want a V, this is a great guitar. Looks good and price is very fair. Rock on.J Madsen
Takes a while to get used to because of the asymmetrical neck, but once you do it’s very comfortable to play. The volume and tone controls are incredibly responsive. As for the build quality it’s pretty good, with some elements being outstanding, in particular the hardware, specifically the tuners, bridge and tail piece, and the volume and tone knobs. Very impressed so far. The only potential downside is that it’s very particular with guitar straps, I’m lucky because I have a few so could try different styles before settling on one. I’d recommend either one with triangular ends (fender style) or a wide soft leather strap.Jay M.
5. Gibson 2016 Flying V Pro T Electric Guitar Wine Red
Product Details:
Gibson flying v 2016 t in very good condition. great playing and sounding instrument. i bought this guitar because of the easy access to the upper frets, the light weight, and because it just looks so good. turns out, i have other guitars that serve the same purpose, and this one just wasn't getting played enough. i just can't see leaving it in the case any more. mahogany body and neck in a slightly smaller body than the typical v. very lightweight. slim taper neck plays fast and smooth. gloss nitro finish top and satin body/neck. some small minor scuffs and surface scratches that are really hard to see (i tried to show what i thought was the worst case scenario and i had to get it in the right light – just a surface rub) and some gibson minor production finish imperfections (pore filler, etc.), but overall excellent, nothing through the finish that i could see.

If you want flame maple, intricate abalone inlays, birds and other types of 'bling' etc, then don't look here. This is a guitar that has had the money spent on the essentials, i.e. good tone-woods, classic pickups and reliable hardware. In my opinion, there is still a lot be said for made in USA Gibsons (& Fenders) that will stand the test of time, can improve with age and become antiques in their own right.rpettit_55
I can't keep my hands off it. I even added chrome covers so it would look cool and it does. I got a great deal on the condition 1. It was awesome. I like how the back of it doesn't have gloss only the front so you can slide down the neck with ease. I looked at these for awhile and all of them have a glossy back neck which I hate. On a les paul, the gloss neck is ok because of it's cool shape and most come with that. This guitar is versatile and gives you the les paul punch and the bluesy start all in one. BUY IT! You won't be sorry, i'm not.doubledown
I really like this guitar, it plays great and sounds great. I like the push-pull pots that give you a lot of different tonal options. The only complaint that I have is that it appears the guitar was built by an inexperienced luthier. There are a few finish flaws visible upon very close inspection by a perfectionist like me. But it is a killer guitar other than a few details. I love it, and every time I jam it, I am left grinning like a mule eating sawbriars. It screams like a gutshot comanchee!!!!Steve

Reviews:
I had ordered the silver model when it first was announced. I received it on March 13, 2022. I was super excited when I opened the case only to see that if had a few finish cracks, two long ones on either side of the neck. It had numerous nicks in the wood that were painted over. It needed a setup up, because the action was too low and the pickups were too high causing some tones issues. The body felt super light, as if was weight relieved which was kind of disappointing since it is a nice big V. There was overspray on the headstock. I had to return it even though it was a dream guitar. One thing I can say was nice was the silver finish looked great, and you could see the grain through it. Also the ebony fretboard was cool. All in all I wouldn't order another one because who knows what I would get. It seemed like Gibson rushed this one or just didn't care.Vince
Overall: The guitar is amazing, the fretboard and neck feel great, the Thrash Factor screams and will push a tube amp to break up a bit more, almost sounds like a mild fuzz or some extra overdrive if you really dig in. The finish is absolutely breathtaking, not a single issue on the finish, inlays, wiring. It really feels like an American made icon. The only issue is one of the frets is slightly lifted, causing some pretty severe buzz on a very common, major note. zZounds has offered me only $100 back on a broken $3000 guitar, I'm not terribly happy about that, but I am trying to get in touch with Gibson about having it repaired, if they'd ever get back to me.
This guitar sounds better than I imagined. Its super aggressive and bright due to its pickups and hard tail. I had to make minor adjustment to truss rod to lower the action just a bit. The finish is real nice with only 2 minor defects. There is a small dent in one of the edges and around the neck and body the finish is not perfect. I would rate this as 4.5 if I could. For the price its awesome, sure its not cheap but compared to others its in the middle and still USA made. Its balanced, not too heavy and plays great. I have a Jackson USA King V with Floyd and no it does not play as nice as that however it cost $2,000 less. It might sound better and I prefer hard tails.Albert
