Overall, I'd say that I'm very happy with the guitar. It plays well, and it sounds great. I had to tweak it a bit, though. It had a respectable amount of bow in the neck when I received it. I've torqued most of it out, but I have the truss rod tightened as far as I dare to. The action is still a bit high at the 12th fret, but I'll take care of that when I change out the strings. It sounds very chimey and bright with no bottom end at all, hopefully a beefier set of strings will help with that. Skinny frets, I wish they were a bit more robust. String spacing (between pairs) isn't consistent between the nut and the bridge, I may notch the bridge a bit to eliminate that. Otherwise, it's a beautifully built guitar and a great value for the price. You won't be disappointed.
I had a cheap 12 string guitar for about almost two years. I had been playing corridos during this time. However, I had played guitar for several years. Mainly rock and other stuff. Well, after I got it, I could play all the solos I couldn't really play clean. I guess the other guitar really was bad, or this one is great. Funny thing, I had a really good player tell me to not buy this model but the more expensive one. Well, I'm glad I decided to go with this one. This guitar sounds great and it's extremely easy to play. The guitar stays in tune fairly well for a 12 string guitar. The action is low. I haven't tried it the electronics aside from the tuner which works fairly well compared to my snark. I do have a Taylor and Martin guitar, and the tone on this guitar is pretty clean.Juan
This Guitar plays like a dream, sounds great no matter if it is plugged in or not, stays in tune and looks great. This is a great price for a guitar of this quality, but thanks to another dealers daily deal and Guitar Center's price matching, it was even better. I was able to get this out of layaway for $240 less. I am very happy with this guitar. I have not played in a band for a while, but getting back into practice and plan to start back with some solo acoustic gigs. Having this awesome new guitar is surely an inspiration to help me want to practice more.Kip

I ordered this instrument as I was curious as to how I'd get along with 12 strings, and to see if it would be worth future investment. I've ordered and played an Epiphone EJ-200 before and was surprised by the brilliant quality I was getting for such a low cost, so on this occasion I followed Epiphone again for my foray into 12 string playing. The instrument is well crafted for the price point with only a few small QC issues slipping through, but nothing I can't live with. I was hoping for a larger sound as the small dreadnought body doesn't quite articulate as well as a bigger instrument would. It's got that jangle sound you want, although it feels like it's a little suppressed with the mahogany build and body shape & size. That being said, the instrument handles very well, and for me it was an easy adaption to play with the much thicker and wider neck. It holds tuning well and was set up pretty nicely – I didn't have to make any adjustments out of the box. For a first 12 string I'd recommend this above most others at the price point.
This is my Long Term Review. I have had this guitar for a bit over two years now and can give a more complete picture of it. First, the good. This is a very well made guitar. Under the pros, you will notice I mentioned Good Construction. This is particularly important in a 12 string. The biggest issue with all 12's is that they tend to come apart very quickly. You will have bowing, warping, separation of glueing, etc. All this is because of the tremendous extra pressure 12's suffer. After 2+ years, this guitar is still solid as a rock, and I leave it strung all the time. So I would say construction and bracing are very good on this instrument. Along with this is the fact that it Stays In Tune. This is another major issue with all 12's. Again, that extra force tends to make them go out of tune quickly. This one holds tune very well, and that is important as tuning a 12 takes some time. As for sound, I would say Not too Bad overall, and Really Good for an budget level guitar. It is a little thin for my taste, but there are ways around that. First, throw on a set of decent strings. I prefer Martin Marquise on mine, but personal choice. Second, I like to play through an acoustic amp, and I put a Seymour Ducan Woody on mine. When adjusted correctly, I can get a really decent, full bass sound, lots of body and still keep a nice jangle expected from a 12. Will it sound like a Martin or Gibson, no, but it gives a really nice sound for such a low price. As for the negatives, very few. First, keep in mind when Epiphone says "Select Spruce Top," they really mean laminated, not solid. But I suppose there varying qualities of laminated woods as well, and this one is great – really good resonance and sustain. It could maybe do with a better set of tuners, but as said before, it holds tune exceptionally well. Overall, for the price, Epiphone makes a really nice and playable guitar. Now am just praying they come out with a Masterbilt version of it.kdw
As usual with AMS, my order process was very easy,. The order arrived exactly when it was supposed to. However that’s when it all went South….! Exited to see and play my new 12 string, I unboxed it’s and sat down to play it. There was a single string in tune, not a one. A first I might add from AMS. I spent the rest of the day attempting to tune the guitar, although I never did. The tuners were difficult to turn, as if there was a bind of some type. I would get the note close only to have it go flat or sharp. I never was able to get it right. I called a friend of mine who’s been playing over 50 years and he was unable to get it in tune as well. Unfortunately I did return it to AMS, without issue. I must add, I have 2 other Epiphone guitar, electric and acoustic and they both came out of the box nearly perfect. I have never had a negative issue with AMS, and even the call to Customer Service was very positive and the agent could not have been nicer and even apologetic. I’m guessing this was just a lemon, but for now I’m going to do a little more research before I decide which 12 string I order, at this particular price point.

The guitar performs and works as advertised. It's not a bad guitar by any means but it's a guitar that lives way past it's price range either. If you want a really nice D'ANGELICO acoustic then get something from the Excel line. But this is bottom of the premier line. This does the job for a early guitar, the neck is easy to play with low action to match. Put some warm strings on it. I recommend an 85/15 string and let it warm up and break in. It's a basic acoustic electric. It does what it says it will do. Nothing more or nothing less. I got it on an overstock sale but I'd buy it again at full price but maybe not the buttercream. The black or natural wood finish look the best. The buttercream is like they wanted the color of spruce with no grain. It's different for sure. If you're wanting something really nice save your money. If you want a decent backup not starter guitar this should fit the bill. My four star rating is with the full asking price in mind. If you get it on sale it's five star for the price.Nick
i wrote a review early on with my first impressions. 3 months on it it still sounds great – it's been my sofa guitar and I've played it a great deal. The tone has mellowed a bit with use. Neck is still exactly where I set it and the whole guitar feels nicely solid. The big surprise is that this thing sounds FANTASTIC through a PA. It's balanced, it's dynamic, it has none of the harsh quackiness you usually get with low end piezo systems. You can hit it HARD without overdriving the pre. It can get nice and loud without feeding back and the onboard tuner is super handy. The first time I played it in public I was basically mobbed by other guitarists wanting to know where I got it. And this isn't even their high end pickup system. Remarkable.Stu
Ordered this on a SDOTD and will say right up front that it's a really NICE guitar, especially for the $$$. I was needing a smaller guitar w/ electronics for small venues, not needing to invest a bunch of money and after reading decent reviews I said "why not?". After opening the box things got off to a rocky start – – 1st string was broken, and also noticed the neck was really bowed from a loose truss rod, but since I do my own setups on new guitars these was fairly easy to remedy. So was the excessively dry fingerboard and bridge, which I rubbed with 0000 steel wool and lemon oil. But, two of the faux mother-of-pearl position markers were sticking up on one end (loose) and that got me to thinking maybe this was a bad idea. I almost boxed it up and sent it back, but since it was so nice otherwise I decided to super glue them back and overlook it. Otherwise, a beauty of a guitar, and after it was all set up this thing really sang. Unplugged, it's fairly unimpressive, but with a decent tone and plenty of harmonics. The fingerboard turned out to play wonderfully, low nice action with smooth frets and I love the thin profile and fairly narrow width of the neck, the shining point of this guitar. Tuners were OK, and the BONE saddle and nut were fine after I lowered the action a bit. The sound of this guitar is amazing plugged in, and the D'Angelico branded electronics are outstanding. Plugged in it sounds equal to anything I've ever heard, and I heard and played a few in my 60 years of performing. Mine does not have a phase switch as is listed, so take note of that one point. The really great thing that I love about the electronics – – the input jack & battery are on the rear bottom side instead of through the normal end pin jack, a major convenience that is not listed, so this makes up for any other minor cons of the guitar. This guitar comes with a first-rate roadrunner case. this is a beautiful 12 string acoustic. the top is a lovely spruce. i have tried in three photos to make clear the inch long scratch on the top near the strap button. as far as scratches go, this one is placed pretty well. it goes with the grain, as you can see in the photos, so you have to catch it in the light just right to see it. sides and back are maple, and the arched back, with its tiger eye-style markings, is especially beautiful. as you can imagine, it has a bright yet robust ringing sound. it does have a piezo pickup, and the electronics, like everything else on this guitar, work perfectly. it has been kept in a humidity-controlled, smoke-free home. it comes with a roadrunner case that is in perfect structural condition, but the previous owner had children who chose to do a little light coloring on the top.

First off, some people don't know the real characteristics of a Guild 12 string. And, no, they aren't ALL supposed to be deep….The wood determines the sound. Denser wood, deeper sound…lighter wood, brighter the sound…I bought one after playing MANY 12 strings. Including Taylor, Martin, Takamine….and this one was my favorite. Frets easy, sound is bright yet full, loud, and just a great guitar. As for the electronics..ehh..not the best…but…I am running a LR Baggs acoustic preamp pedal and it brings the guitars natural sound. I turn up the bottom just a bit…sounds amazing…LOVE THIS GUITAR…and it's beautiful to boot….Jamie
I ran into one of these in a guitar store and was immediately impressed compared to the other 12-strings in the acoustic room. It's not a Guild 512, but it has a good, solid sound and nice neck. I was concerned about the tuners, but they seem to work fine and stay in tune and they are the same as on the deluxe Westerly models. My guitar showed up with a detached soundhole control. I almost sent it back, but I liked the sound of the guitar enough that I just decided to reattach the soundhole control with some double sided tape. We'll see how that holds up, but I wasn't impressed with the original glue job. Otherwise, nice guitar. A 12-string has so much going on sonically, that I don't think I need a more expensive model to get good sound. The pickup sounds nice, too. I also like the satin finish. Good guitar. This is the worst guitar for the money I have ever purchased. My brother took sick just before it was delivered. I never got a chance to check this guitar before the time expires. Where should I start. To say this guitar's flyncey is an understatement. The neck is very uneven! The body is so thin even at its great size it cannot give a deep tone. The head of this guitar is heavier than the whole guitar. I see positive reviews on this guitar and I wonder which cartoon characters are posting them or if they are even real. The sound system is is pathetic! It does not matter which amplifier or PA system I play it through it is totally inadequate. And it is incapable of being used in any type of venue through any type of sound system. Why put it in there at all. Guild should be ashamed of itself!!!!! A special thank you to my sales engineer Matthew Langston who helped me find this guitar. As always, he is the Sweetwater difference! The KOA top is beautiful and the 12-string sound is fantastic. The pickup selection provides a wide range of sounds to fit the genre you are playing. It has been a joy to play! It is my first Taylor steel string and I haven't been disappointed.
You can read lots of pros and cons online about this model and this is just another perspective, but based on my 50 years of professional guitar performance on solid bodies, hollow bodies, dreadnaughts and salon size steel strings, nylon string and acoustic and electric 12-string. Folks who pan this Taylor apparently would be disappointed that a vintage Gibson 335 doesn't sound exactly like a D-28 and a Les Paul Custom rolled into one. Anyone who researches this model HAS to know it is not a compromise concept, it seeks to take the characteristics of both acoustic and electric guitars and make them available in one instrument. For what it does, I think it does it superbly. I play with bare, short fingernails and no picks so this may influence my tonal perception but this thing through my JBL EON One sounds gorgeous, as good as any hollow jazz box I've had and better than most of them. Solos on the humbucker can get about as much sustain and crunch as a competent player would ask for. And as for playability: this thing is a dream to play. Pulloffs and hammers are effortless, the neck feels perfect with just enough fret height to let me thumb the strings without bottoming them. The hardware is well positioned for the most part with the tone and volume controls unobtrusive as I like them; I don't need hatbox knobs that are bigger than my bathroom faucets. Fit and finish are the usual Taylor standard, which is amazing for a mass produced instrument. All in all, my purchase of this T5-C1 with maple top was one of the best guitar buys I've ever made…and I've made a lot of them. This match feels like one made in heaven and I would encourage those players who are sophisticated enough to appreciate a concept that is fresh and well executed to look closely at the T5-C1 or variants of this model as they are available. Put it to work for you and I am confident that the more you use it, the more you will come to appreciate how well the design concept works in allowing you the artistic freedom to express yourself through your instrument to the fullest.son_of_idiot
This guitar has all of the sweet sounds an functions of a T5Z guitar the form of a 12 string guitar. There is little add to this review that I haven't say in my T5Z review, except that it is in a 12 string. I could play for hours with this guitar, that I would not or could not do with other 12 stings. Playing is effortless, however it is dependent upon which songs you are playing. Great for Folk songs and single performers, but not for hard rock or Reggae. As with most 12 stings, it fills the void with sound in songs. Bar cords are relatively easy as in most 12 string guitars. I reduce the rating because it does not fit into other T5Z Taylor guitar cases. Yep! You need to buy a Dedicated Taylor case, since the T5Z cases are of a slightly narrower dimension. Like wise, other accessories are also of a slightly different dimension, rendering a need to duplicate seemingly identical accessories. I purchased this guitar last year after seeing it in the "Open Box" listings. The photos were not clear but it was freight damaged in several places on the top and sides. BIG cracks. MF sold it me at cost. My guitar tech repaired the cracks which took a couple of weeks but didn't charge much for the repairs. When I finally played it after it was set up it was AMAZING. Even at the regular price point it's a steal. Blows Martins right off the stage. If buying it, like any other instrument, it needs to be professionally set up for it to play right and sound good. My tech found no other issues other than the freight damage. He agrees with me that it's an amazing instrument. If need be I would buy another without any hesitation.Sid
I plat solo with vocals in concerts, at church both solo and with a band, at sing-alongs, song-writing, jamming, Just about everywhere with and without amplification and sound modelling. I live in Pennsylvania quite near to a famous well established major acoustic guitar manufacturer. Most of my friends own guitars of that brand. But when they play my Artwood guitars they look at their CFMs with a jaundiced eye. Compared to their "auditorium" size X models my grand concert size Artwoods are equal to and in most cases superior to theirs. Both have solid sitka spruce tops chrome tuners and Fishman electronics. Mine have rosewood fretboards and bridges; theirs are made out of black plasticized paper materials called richlite and coriian. Mine have bone nuts and saddles and theirs have plastic ones. Mine have laminated mahogany WOOD back and sides; theirs have some kind of synthetic laminate material (Formica perhaps?). Mine have black and ivory perfling with mock tortoise shell bindings; theirs are unbound. Theirs were made in Mexico, where making quality stringed instruments is a 500 year long tradition; mine were made in China where quality stringed instruments have been made continuously for over three thousand years. Their guitars play well and sound good. Mine play and sound even better and cost hundreds less. QUESTION: Why pay extra Benjamins just for a name?Cat
I am a beginner (able to play only a few chords at this point). I find this guitar fairly easy to play. The neck feels good in the hand and the matte finish makes it easy to slide the fretting on the neck. The craftsmanship is very good. My only complaint is that one side of the back on my guitar is noticeably darker than the other (which is why I deducted one star). The finish looks and feels almost like smoothly sanded raw wood. Don't buy this guitar if you are wanting something flashy. Overall, I think it is a good value.Dennis

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this value brand guitar. The action was actually low and playable after tuning it out of the box. I was wanting to try my hand at a 12 string and found some used ones for more money that were basically unplayable. Then I found this new Oscar Schmidt on e-bay, and figured for the money, it's better than paying double for an unplayable wooden box. Purchased this guitar in December of 2019. Total for guitar, hard case (extra), 2 yrs of maintenance, and tax came to < $900. The guitar was purchased for my 11yo son who has been taking guitar lessons for about a year and is developing a repertoire in classical and flamenco musical styles. Prior to this, my son was using a simple < $200 starter guitar. But because of his interest and development throughout the year (we rarely have to ask him to practice; he does it on his own), we decided to purchase this guitar as a next step up. We tried a number of guitars, including Cordoba, and from various sellers prior to purchasing this particular guitar. It came down to this model and another model from Cordoba. At this point, my son's guitar teacher (who has been playing professionally for 35+ years) volunteered to visit the store and help with our final selection. We decided on this model because of its sound (very important that *you* like the sound of *your* guitar!) and it is extremely light-weight. Additional features include a built-in tuner, amplifier pick-up (so you can connect to an amplifier if you wish) and has guitar strap connectors. Finally, a particular and unique feature of this guitar is the small bevel where your playing arm rests on the guitar. My son appreciates this simple and unobtrusive feature which allows him to rest his arm on the base of the guitar without the guitar edge digging into his forearm. I highly recommend that you consider this guitar in your selection process!ED
I just bought this instrument and the first impression was good. Good looking guitar, and sounds good enough if you want to practice with no amplification at your home. Then in the studio of the Guitar Center of Tyler, they allowed me to taste the electronics of the guitar while amplified, and it surprised me in a positive way. Loved the look, price, sound, and feel of this guitar. Tried it out in the store and was ready to buy the floor model, but luckily I asked for a 9V battery to test the electronics at the counter. Oddly the battery port fits fine into the guitar when empty, but the moment you put a battery in it it will not stay shut and pops open rendering your electronics useless. Me and the sales rep at the front figured this was had to be a fluke and he ordered a new one to be delivered to my house. Four days later it arrived. I played it for about an hour out of the box without issue (set up was great, sounded great acoustic) and then I decied to check the electronics. Sure enough, the exact same issue occured when I tried to fit a 9V in the battery port. When a battery was actually in it, it would not stay shut. No tuner, no electronics. Ten minutes later I was back at my local GC. The tech inspected it an came to the same conclusion as I did after trying 5 different brand batteries to see if that made a difference- it's defective. He recommended I return it and try another product. In short it plays nice, sounds nice, and looks nice but if it happened on 2 guitars it has to be happening on more of them. I'm sure you could duck tape it or find a way to keep it closed but this should not be an issue on a $350+ guitar. 3 stars.Ryan

Guitar was well set up on arrival, however it had a lacquer crack on the back of the neck that possibly occurred in transit. Jack socket was loose. Volume pot not tightened and spinning enough to have broken solder on wire. Offered discount or exchange. Accepted refund and fixed pot and socket myself, applying serrated washers that should have been present during assembly. These issues should really have been noticed during inspection and/or set up. Fret ends not very well dressed. I did this myself, but you need to be experienced to do so. I now have a £379 guitar (bought for £290 after the refund) that sounds and plays like a considerably more expensive one and has a very good sunburst finish, but was a bit disappointed by the issues that should have been caught at some point. Also disappointed that I had to chase the refund after 10 days.William D.

Ok so it's Chinese made, but this is why it does not cost 1500. The build quality is good, the setup out of the box was great. Low action and easy to play, even accounting for wider than standard 6 string neck. ( And I don't have long fingers) The electrics work great and the hidden nature of controls is cool, if you don't want a big hole cut in the side of your guitar. Solid woods throughout, with great finish. Weakest point is the tuners, but it holds tune well for a 12 string, which in itself is unheard of!jacol-431
I've wanted a Guild 12-string since college, over over 40 years ago. Back then I had a Lyle Hummingbird clone 12-string, which sounded okay (laminated body, spruce top, Japanese manufacture.) Before I left college I also bought a Guild G-37, blonde, arch back 6-string. I still have both guitars. I loved the sweet, well balanced tone of the G-37, but could never afford one of their 12-strings to mate up with it. Fast forward to now – haven't played any of my guitars in several years, and wanted to get back into it. With the Westerly Collection, a 12 string was now affordable, and all the reviews and videos convinced me that this was the time! My new F2512E Deluxe arrived the other day, and it's stunning! Flawless finish, precision inlays, and oh that tone! Just like the tone of some of my favorite artists from the folk era, like John Denver. Bought this guitar to add to my acoustic collection. For this price my exoectations were low as I own a Martin, Gibson, Ovation Elite and Yamaha Transacoustic all which cost considerbly more so I was abslutely blown away by this guitar. It came perfectly setup out of the box with nice low action-no adjustment needed. The glossy sunburst finish over the flamed maple back and sides is absolutely beautiful-the top and is matched spruce and the back is matched flamed maple. Beautiful shimmery sound and the pickup sounds great plugged into my deluxe reverb amp. The satin neck finish is smooth and the frets are smooth and polished. The quality of this guitar is outstanding-I could not find a flaw in its material or construction anywhere. Nice bright maple jumbo guitar that I am glad I purchased. Don't let the price point and the made in China sticker scare you away-this guitar holds its own against my Martin HD-35, Gibson hummingbird and my other acoustic guitars. I bought a gator jumbo case to keep it safe and the ase fits nicely.DWB

Hi I ordered the guitar and was told about the long delay and found that really honest and helpful, so many people nowadays don't mention the delay in advance then spend their time making excuses. When I reicieved the guitar I was very impressed, the action is perfect and I had spent lots of time worrying that I may find the action on a 12 string too much. It plays just as well as my six string acoustic and that's the best acoustic I've ever played, which is why I bought it. This was my 1st purchase from Richard and I am pretty sure it won’t be my last, whilst I am very much a beginner at guitar, returning after 20 years I have developed a habit for buying guitars that are somewhat inspirational to me, (well apart from my tele modern player, not my wisest purchase). I have always loved the sound of a 12 string acoustic, but was put off by the general implication they are not a good idea for beginners, however I came across a couple of YouTube reviews for the Godin A12, which suggested otherwise, one of which was Richards. I spoke with Richard fairly late one evening to enquire about stock via his live chat and he was still online which was surprising. The guitar was in stock and the order placed, each step of the process from order thru to workshop allocation, setup, testing and finally dispatch, were updated via email and on the website, the whole process took 10 days from ordering to my door step. Initial impressions were good, the guitar in its gig bag was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition, after a quick tune up, the sound was amazing, the action is nice and low and it is considerably easier to play than I was expecting, in fact it only highlights how poor the initial setup on my tele was. Personally I have a long way to go but I definitely have an instrument that inspires me to pick it up anytime I have a few minutes to spare. If you are ever in need of a guitar and Richard stocks it then I would highly recommend Richard over some other online providers, you may not get it next day, but the wait is very much worth it. I received my Godin A6 a couple of weeks ago and I must say I am very impressed, not only with the guitar, but also the service from Richards Guitars. It arrived very well packed and ahead of the projected time. It's a little early to give a practical review of the guitar but suffice to say it's looking very promising, and will probably replace my Martin 000-28 for a lot of my gigs, especially when I'm playing in the full band. These tend to be longer than my solo gigs and a tad more frantic. One of the reasons I went for the A6 is because I have a bit of rheumatism in my thumbs and the narrower neck on the A6 helps a lot without sacrificing an acoustic guitar feel and sound. At the moment I'm experimenting with different strings. The guitar came with nickel wound but I thought I'd try some phosphor bronze which is more in keeping with my acoustics. The Jury is still out! I can certainly recommend Richards Guitars, their attention to detail and concerns over customer satisfaction are excellent.Brad B.

I have a vintage Takamini 12 string that I love. It's a beauty. But there is a reason Guild is considered the 12 string king. Clearly they put serious time into designing and making this guitar. You just have to pick up this and immediately are aware the quality, strength, tone of this is on another level. It projects a rich tone unlike anything I've ever heard. The build and action is perfect. It's an extremely easy guitar to play. The neck is ridiculously strong and can handle thick strings but I recommend lighter gauge still. It makes it even more of a gem to play and sounds amazing and you don't need as much truss rod.Scott
Great tone and volume. It has warmth and dimension when played lightly but can produce a tremendous range without ever sounding harsh or overplayed. It is responsive to player input and responds well different styles and techniques of playing. It is the first 12-string that I have ever played that works well with capo and slide. Had done a lot of research on this guitar prior to buying so was pretty sure I'd like it – Canadian made, from Godin, made with their own wood from their own orchard, and although laminate is pressure tested. Guitar came with a label confirming the checks, but that I would really know. Sounds fantastic, lovely tone, a comfortable range, and a very manageable neck for my tiny calloused hands. I just recorded a version of "Can't Find My Way Home" by Blind Faith. Clapton plays a small body guitar on the song. The guitar sounds great. I bought it after seeing and playing it at the NAMM show. Mine has no electronics. It came perfectly setup and the only thing I do is change strings. The tone is surprising for a parlor. The intonation is spot on up and down the neck. It has a full sound with good bass. I play it in group settings and the tone cuts through the larger guitars and is noticeable in the room. Others have commented how well it projects. The neck feels terrific (1.72mm). It's not too flat and is fuller than many of the modern acoustic necks. Clearly I'm a fan, but this thing is great and great for my purposes.Abster

Nachdem ich die per Versand bei mir eingetroffene Guild D-2612CE Deluxe Antique Sunburst erwartungsvoll auspackte, war der erste Gesamteindruck von dem Instrument nach schneller Übersicht erst einmal recht gut. Eine insgesamt saubere und wertige Verarbeitung, und eine tolle Optik. Auf den zweiten Blick wurde mir die recht hohe Saitenlage gewahr. Nach dem späteren Stimmen und Anspielen wurde klar dass ein ungehindertes und entspanntes Greifen ab etwa dem 5. Bund so nicht möglich ist. Für eine Gitarre mit Cutaway, welche also das Spiel bis in die höheren Lagen ermöglichen sollte, ein eher unverständlicher (werkseitiger) Auslieferungszustand. Der Hals war zwar gerade, jedoch die Stegeinlage recht hoch… Da wäre also erst einmal der Gang zum Gitarrenbauer, zwecks Nacharbeiten erforderlich geworden. Zudem wären dort dann auch die Sattelkerben nachzuarbeiten gewesen, weil die Saiten beim Stimmen fürchterlich im Sattel hingen. Ok, grundsätzlich bisher alles machbar und verschmerzbar, wenn sich nicht noch ein weiteres Problem gezeigt hätte. Und zwar die mindere Qualität der Stimmtuner. Ehrlich gesagt, so etwas schlechtes erwarte ich bei einer Gitarre zum Neupreis von unter 100 Euro, aber nicht bei einem Markeninstrument für 640 Euro. Sehr ungleich und schwergängig, wobei einer der Tuner sogar nahezu klemmte und sich eher defekt anfühlte. Also auch bei völlig entspannter Saite, somit unabhängig von der schlecht gefeilten Sattelkerbe. Den Piezo-Tonabnehmer habe ich an einem Digitech RP355 über Kopfhörer getestet und da war nach meinem ersten Eindruck an der Qualität nichts auszusetzen. Fazit: Wäre ich bereit gewesen, die genannten Nacharbeiten in Kauf zu nehmen, einschließlich Austausch der Stimmmechaniken, hätte ich nun sicher eine ansonsten prima verarbeitete Gitarre. Und, natürlich muss meine Erfahrung NICHT auf alle Exemplare dieser Serie zutreffen!! Die Gitarre klingt übrigens auch sehr präsent, schön und ausgewogen, wobei ich den Punch in den Bässen ein wenig vermisse. Was möglicherweise auch an der werkseitigen Bespannung liegen kann. Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen die Gitarre zurück zu senden und ich werde statt dessen eine Zwölfsaitige von einem anderen Hersteller (diesmal aus europäischer Produktion?) auswählen. Abwicklung u.
