I had high hopes I could use these to accent a style I have unwittingly developed over the years on guitar. Playing rhythm I pluck the bass strings with my thumb and strum the strings back and forth with my middle finger. These picks are very painful to the cuticle on my middle finger and furthermore won't stay on my finger. I wrapped a paper based tape around my finger to help ease some of the pain and then wrapped some around the base of the pick and lapped onto my finger. When I do this the pick stays on, but when I switch to bass or piano all of that has to come off. If guitar was all I played I would do this and carry on and could still use the flat pick when necessary. I wanted to love these, but they're just not working out for me.cathead77

First the bad. They're expensive! They're also very difficult to size to you fingers. Unlike most plastic finger picks, which will soften very quickly in less than boiling water to enable forming to your finger size. These required a fairly lengthy boil with wedges inserted to open the pick. Yes,l purchased the largest size. They were very tight on my large fingers. Now the good. To me, they work like a long finger nail. I can feel the string with my finger tip and still get a nice sharp, clear note. I wear these reversed from a regular metal or plastic finger pick. This is a great idea and these picks are great. My problem with them is the largest ones are too small and very uncomfortable. I tried hot water but that did nothing. I will have to try almost boiling water to see if that does the trick. If it does, I would change my comment and rating! My rating would change to a 5 star!Chip
I bought small, medium and large sizes to find ideal fit. I like a snug fit, but not cutting off circulation. Smells were definitely too tight, but I put them in hot water for a while and then fit to my finer for decent fit but still a bit too tight. Same with mediums (not very moldable with hot water). Large size was perfect out of the package. For reference, I'm 5-11 and wear a size 10.5 to 11 on ring finger.Mike

I gave up trying to use finger picks about 40 years ago. I decided to give these a shot. First, I have to say, they are MUCH better than the traditional plastic or metal styles which used to turn my fingertips blue, they had to be on so tight. These have to be pretty tight, but are much more friendly than the steel type. BTW, I use a classical p-i-m-a style finger style. Also, it's nice that they let you use your thumbnail in it's natural position, not off to the side. There are three slots, one of which goes UNDER the tip of your nail (you wan't be able to use them if you're a nail-biter). This is a good arrangement, as the touch on the string is much more natural. First, I had to file them down, as they were too long for me. A nail file did not work, so I used 100, then 150 sandpaper, then a light filing with a nail file. The plastic kind of peals at the edge of where you file, so you have to carefully sand that off as you go along. My first impressions were excellent. I could play easily on both classical and steel string guitars. As I played more, I found that you can't be too harsh with attack as they will slip off your nails. I don't think I ordered too big a size because they were already reasonably tight, and I used the measurements at their website to determine what sizes to order. So, no flamenco flourishes, but I could still play louder than normal, and I could really fingerpick on steel strings, which I have always found nearly impossible. I would continue to experiment with them, but my cat has apparently gotten onto my desk and turned one of them into a kitty toy (I always have to hide my picks from her, she loves them). When I find it, I will fool around with them some more. I am on the fence, but I am going to say I would recommend them, just to see if they work out for you.NickyT
1. These picks run small, like everyone writes here. If you're above the age of ten, you need Large. I ordered mediums and although they can be stetched open and made to work, they become uncomfortable after awhile. 2. You have to have a certain amount of fingernails or the pick won't stay in place. The front of it must secure under a nail to prevent it from flipping up when you pluck a string. 3. They are just about useless on the thumb. I have resorted to using a traditional thumb pick with them. They will pkuck a string but it's very difficult to do so consistently. It must be the angle. I've tried adjusting it to different angles on my thumb, with likited success. 4. There is a learning curve here but that's true of any pick so no need to kick a dead horse on that topic. 5. Initially I hated them. Then I trimmed and filed them and am much happier with them. They're easy to shape with a small file and to trim, using regular nail trimmers. The pros of these picks are that they're very quiet on the strings and (presumably if you order the correct size) stay in place well. I have ordered large but have not gotten them to try and compare. Think of them as removeable fake nails, and you get the idea. I intend to try the large when they come and if they don't perform better, I'll go to traditional finger picks and just file them down. It's a great concept and I hope I can find a way to make them work. I use mine on nylon strings and love the crystal clear tone they produce compared to my fingers.Tim
I fingerpick on a Taylor 712ce 12-fret ad a GS Mini. I like the punch, clarity and control I get with fingerpicks. I was using brass ProPiks which are very nice but the as soon as I tried the Alaska picks I really started hearing the sound I have been wanting. Alaska picks have a softer sound than the metal picks, which I like, but still give me more articulation and punch than I get with bare fingers. I made a very seamless and easy transition from the metal to the Alaska picks. With a little adjustment they are very comfortable. Another advantage with the Alaska picks vs metal is that you can strum on the down stoke which you cannot do with metal picks. My only critique, thus the 4 stars, is that they wear out fairly quickly. Because the material is fairly soft, they lose their edge after about 15 hours playing time. However the softness of the material also gives them the great natural sound. They are reasonably priced so easy to replace.Gb3ck

I bought this for my son, who is a guitar newbie. He travels a lot for work, so I bought him the jamstik+ to bring with him and practice. All I have to say is wow! I am so impressed. It is so easy to use, and connects seamlessly to his phone or iPad. The note transmission from the jamstik+ to my Iphone or tablet is instantaneous. He is a big fan of the guitar learning app called Yousician. So he connects the jamstik to my phone. That way, the phone can play the notes he plays and he can see where his fingers are on the frets, meanwhile his iPad runs the yousician app and he can play along with the lessons since he can hear the notes that are coming out of his iPhone. I used National steel finger picks in the 60's. They were difficult to fit, uncomfortable and sounded loud but tinny. No so with Delrin Freedom Finger Picks. Use hot water to adjust the fit. More comfortable than any other finger pick I have tried. I haven't used fingerpicks for sometime now, but is getting better with practice. Fingernails work great until you break one, or two! Though I am still adjusting to using finger picks again, these have a natural feel on the strings, the tome is also more natural, unlike steel finger picks. The material is tough and will not wear out in a lifetime. They are adjustable with hot water. great tone. What's not to like. I recommend these picks to anyone who fingerpicks anything with strings.Grandpa
After trying at least a dozen other finger picks, over the years, this is finally a product that I can say I love. I ordered size large because I usually wear a large to extra large men's glove. At first try I thought , oh well, These are too small . But I put them on a spatula handle, dipped them in boiling water for 10 seconds,then to the cold water faucet and wow! they fit snugly but very comfortable. As I played the guitar with them, I relieved a few pressure points with # 150 sandpaper wrapped about a round pencil and now I can play 3 hours a day with absolutely no pain. They stay put on the fingers and you truly can frail like a madman on the strings. Their tone is the closest to natural finger nails of all the brands I've tried. I like the low ,natural profile and they don't hang up on the strings. Now I can't imagine playing without them!Greg

While I liked the fingerpicks, the thumb ProPik is designed poorly. Playing it for the first time, I kept catching my fifth string in the gap created by the space that holds the thump pick onto the thumb. Would like my money back on what I paid and would gladly return it. Mike DowMike D.
I've been using the split wrap Pro-Piks since the late 90s. They fit ever so much better on many fingers than the single wrap… (I had worn single wrap picks for about 20 years before that). I love their comfort. And I've also fit quite a few people into them, men and women and even small, teensy tiny fingers into them far better. Recommend these!Claire W.

It will arrive with action higher than most les Paul's! So you will need to lower it first thing. I got lucky and got nice frets but you may have to do a complete fret job! My strings were good but some say they had to change theirs first thing..now the pickup…the humbucker is actually pretty sweet and more than I expected..the bridge pickup well it's just there…it's decent to say the least…guitar is extremely light, so light it's almost scary…I will definitely have to pull the control plate off and do another update later on!! But all for all it is worth the money if you're willing to do some work on it first!!
When I received the guitar, I found many new upgrades, starting with double boxed packaging with internal neck support. The guitar was wrapped in a foam bag, and inside of the new padded gig bag. The cable has also been upgraded to a heavy nylon covered cable with metal ends, one straight, one 90°plug. Bound Laurel fretboard and bone nut. The awesome Purple finish is near flawless, smoothly applied with no runs, sags, or rough spots. The electronics and hardware all work smoothly, and the tuner hold tune. Out of the box, the guitar plays well, but is in need of a setup, like most new guitars. The Setup: The neck is very straight and needed a slight adjustment of the truss rod to add a bit of relief. There was no fret sprout, but I did find a couple of frets a tad high, (all above the 12th fret), a few taps with the fret mallet sorted that out, and followed with a polish. The nut slots were even and well cut, but the nut was too tall for my liking, file the slots some, to avoid going to deep, I popped the nut off and filed the bottom to bring it into perfect height. A few dabs of PVA (white) glue reset the nut in place. Conditioned the fretboard with some lemon oil, it was really dry, and looks awesome now. Setting the string height and intonation were as simple as turning a few screws. The guitar now looks and plays wonderfully! Closing thoughts: This is a beautiful guitar, and Glarry's upgrades and revisions are greatly appreciated. The padded gig bag is nice, but grab yourself a soft, flurry towel to line the bag for extra safety, If you want even more security, Glarry sells a hard case to fit this guitar. If you are into mods this is a great platform. Want a Bigsby? add it, custom pickups? why not, locking tuners and strap lock? for me always! Way to go Glarry!

Father Christmas got this guitar for my 11yr old son this year and he hasn't put it down! He started teaching himself acoustic guitar a few months ago and has been absolutely fixated.
