I bought this as a Stupid Deal of the Day. I wasn't expecting great quality — just a serviceable instrument. Alas, even there I was disappointed. There were minor annoyances like absolutely no documentation — no manual in the box; no manual on-line; nothing. I still don't know what the little allen wrench that came with it is for. When I picked up one of the legs it fell apart. There is a press-to-fit collar that holds the screw which allows adjusting the length of the leg. It wasn't actually pressed onto the shaft it was supposed to be attached to. A little brute force (before I attached the leg) solved that one. The real problem, however, came when I managed to assemble it anyway in spite of these minor glitches. Within moments of me setting it up on it's legs, one of the legs fell off. Actually the metal plate into which the leg screwed fell off. Luckily I still had all the packing material because I hadn't actually managed to completely unpack it. I called Musicians Friend. They were very helpful and immediately sent a RMA and a return label. Back it went.Bill, W.
Excellent product, I found it to hold tune and appears fairly sturdy. Strings are adequate for practice will experiment with others later, but not bad. I ran this through my Fender Deluxe reverb and found very little hum. Practically none and this surprised me as it is a single coil pickup. My only grip is the legs, I could not even get them to screw in, but then I didn't plan to use them in the first place, this instrument is best in your lap. The legs will come in handy if there is a noisy cat in the alley, or I need something to sink a boat (they are fairly heavy and seem decent, except, they are impossible to screw into the dang guitar!) Overall I would highly recommend as a first lap steel for sure.Mike
I've played electric/acoustic/bass for over 25 years, but got curious to try a lap steel because I've always loved the sound; I know what a quality instrument should feel like, and this definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I tuned up to C6 easily, and the single-coil pickup gives a nice bright tone that is consistent in volume from string-to-string. I haven't noticed any hum from the pickup at normal practice volume, and no grounding problems. I expect I'll change the strings soon, but that's a personal preference. A few people mentioned tuning problems; the tuners aren't the best, but I'd suggest pulling on each string when you first get it, to get any extra slack out of them. After that, mine holds tune perfectly fine. It packs up really neatly in the included gig bag, which does hold the detachable legs as well. The gig bag doesn't have much padding, but should be perfectly fine for storing the guitar when not in use. If you need to gig with the instrument professionally, I'd suggest getting something more solid, but this is a fantastic option for someone looking to learn on, or for studio use where you're looking for some different tones.Sam A

aif you can spot a Fender Reverb and/of Trem right away, this is for you. Great representation of Fender sounding Verb plus others, from spring (63 or65) or a plate verb. Natural sounding and can get WET!! Trem is what you'd expect to, Best part is either work independantly from one another or together. Just as if you had two pedal in your chain, YOU can decide where you want to place each effect, reverb first going into Tremolo OR Tremolo running into the Reverb (does make a big diff yet usually inst available in "blended pedals", here you have the option. Build quality is excellent and your knobs are lit for easy visibility (Can be shut off or have choice of brightness). Highly reccomend this pedal. Two years and still love it.David
My only disappointment is that I bought the Fender Marine reverb before this came out. The Marine reverb may be better suited to people who want a myriad of reverb styles; from my point of view the reverbs in this combination pedal are absolutely the job. The tremolo options are lovely.Steve J.
I purchased this pedal to use with my Marshall DSL 40. This amp sounds great but suffers from weak reverb. This pedal adds the missing reverb effect and includes the tremolo effect as well. There are variations of both effects. My amp has gone from okay to great. Great product.Eric

Nice sound variations, available! Easy to use, I like the Series/Blend feature, Series gives more distortion and Blend allows you to adjust one or the other in variable amounts. Controls are well done, like they should be. The distortion has a quality about it, which is hard to describe in words. All types of distortion is available, from light to heavy, but with a high quality, not heard/seen often. The battery compartment is a nice feature, better than anything else out there. Easy, and effective, no opening up the housing, no screws to loose, like on most pedals. I would buy again!Alex
I don't see alot about this one and I'm not sure why. It covers everything from light overdrive to distortion. You're probably not gonna get metal tones, but for blues and rock it's awesome. The blend knob means you can dial in how much dirt you want. It works with humbuckers, single coils and P90s to make a tube amp sing.Brennan

Premetto che sono un patito di chorus e ho avuto pedali analogici storici e digitali "analog dry through". Questo Fender è stata una piacevole sorpresa ma ho dovuto passare un po' di tempo a smanettare le varie manopole. La modalità a una voce, per gusto personale, l'ho quasi esclusa da subito perchè molto più assimilabile ad un flanger. Le 2 voci mi hanno dato le maggiori soddisfazioni, ma sempre e comunque con impostazioni del Level molto basso. Abbinato con un muff, ho goduto a pieno di sonorità molto gilmouriane. Consigliato.
I use this on a bass pedal board to add dimension playing in worship team. It is compact, bulletproof and has great tone. One catch is, mine wouldn't play well with others on daisy chain. it had a fair bit of hum. given its own isolated output and power cord from the power supply cleaned this up entirely.steven

The special and hall settings together with the level, time and delay settings enable you to sculpt sounds and effects that it would take several pedals to accomplish. I am really impressed with all of the Fender pedals in this range. They all look great, are well made and sound really good too. The Marine Layer is the top of the pile for me. It can give any digital reverb in any price range (trust me, I have _all_ of them), in terms a quality of tone. When you need a mono reverb, this should be your first place to go. This pedal also features the first _room reverb_ that I have liked. Very smooth and unassuming. It also has a shimmer verb, but this is tastefully played down and isn't as nauseating as other shimmers. It's really useable. The hall 'verbs are amongst the best I have. Thumbs up from me.rohan43

I use this pedal for solo boost, 3 band eq is nice. There is much more going on with this pedal. I keep tinkering with it on its own to push my tube amps. Get this pedal if you aren't cutting through the band during your solos. Find your rhythm sound and then when it comes solo time, stomp on the tank and you will cut right through! I'm looking at other Fender pedals as well I think they are the under dog hidden gem of pedals out there. My advise get it!! If u don't like it, you will easily find someone who does!!Greg R

Professional use on live gigs and studio. Very smooth Holdsworth like distortion sound with lots of tonal variations via very musical onboard eq. Previously owned mesa boogie flux five and couldn't get anywhere near a usable sound…traded in for full moon which was half the price and infinitely better….in my opnion. Going to buy another!

Overall: Wow ! I have had a lot of other reverb pedals but none that take it to this level and 1/2 the price point. The special and hall settings together with the level, time and delay settings enable you to sculpt sounds and effects that it would take several pedals to accomplish. No on board amp reverbs system, spring or digital can hold a candle to this unit, Fender really needs to hang on to this designer and his team for a long time, I think he understands things about sound that no one else has ever thought of, great job and thanks zZounds for making things happen like only you guys can. There low rating on support is just because none was needed and I have never used it in reference to this item.Jeffrey
I am really impressed with all of the Fender pedals in this range. They all look great, are well made and sound really good too. The Marine Layer is the top of the pile for me. It can give any digital reverb in any price range (trust me, I have _all_ of them), in terms a quality of tone. When you need a mono reverb, this should be your first place to go. This pedal also features the first _room reverb_ that I have liked. Very smooth and unassuming. It also has a shimmer verb, but this is tastefully played down and isn't as nauseating as other shimmers. It's really useable. The hall 'verbs are amongst the best I have. Thumbs up from me.rohan43
Awesome Reverb pedal for everything from light reverb to full ambient lushness. Im not a shoegaze guy, but if I was this pedal would be my go to. Does a similar sound to the Strymon, with a pad type sound similar to an organ underneath what you play.Works well with high gain leads if the level is set low. The L.E.D light is ridiculously bright though, so dont stare directly into the light haha. Id buy it again if it were ever lost/stolen/broken.calirarities

I've been looking for a phaser that has more controls than a simple speed/rate knob that I liked and could afford. I had a Mutron way back in the 70s that I sold in the 80s. I have never been able to find another I could afford so I settled for a 1 knob wonder because everyone thinks they are great. Unfortunately I didn't. The phase from the 1 knob wonder was way too drastic and created chaos in my tone. I got a gift card for GC recently and took a gamble on this phaser, but I'm glad I did. This pedal is fantastic. Very versatile, lots of adjustability, goes from subtle to over the top and everywhere in between, 2 different speeds can be set and switched between the two. I would highly recommend this phaser to anyone looking for more out of a phaser than just a rate or speed control.Robert K.
Overall: This pedal sounds great, it's nice having two chorus options. You can get lots of different sounds out of it. It's very clear sounding. I am satisfied with the sound. I also like the overall look of the pedal but i'm mixed on the lights on this thing.1. I do not like the green led. It is insanely bright. 2. I do like the led lights on the knobs, they're a nice blue color . You can turn them off but you won't because it is easier to see the knobs when the bright green led is lit. 3. Next to the sensitivity knob is an orange led that lights in response to playing speed.4. There are light green leds (normal brightness) that indicate which of the two chorus settings you are currently on and and one that blinks with the rate of the chorus setting you are currently on. Overall though, i like the pedal, i'm definitely keeping it. The sound is the most important thing and it sounds great. It's just a lot going on with the lights. All my other pedals just have a light indicate they're on. I may have to put tape over that green led.Paul

Great pedal, exceptional value for money! Sounds great, can get some real bass tones through it without sacrificing too much and with little to no feedback when cranked up. Only issue is that I’d say better quality switches could be used, feel a little cheap and heavy when switching but other than that, ace! Used this through a JP bass cub bg120 amp and found the overdrive was noisy. Didn’t find the tone to my liking. The compressor just knocks back the volume way too much. Lots of effects, but doesn’t perform very well. Sent back for a refund as I knew I wasn’t going to get on with it.

I have been a pedal steel player for many years. In my old age, I have become interested in the lap steel. It is a much more complex instrument than I expected. The Gretsch Electromatic is probably the nicest looking steel in it's price range, but there are some problems right out of the box. Keep in mind that I am talking only about my instrument. I cannot speak for others. First, the fretboard is plastic, and held in place with screws. The intonation is off slightly, (which can easily be compensated for by bar adjustment) and the fretboard, not being glued down, was bowed up off the base approx. 1/4 of an inch. This condition was easily taken care of with a little Super Glue. Next, the bridge cover had to be removed in order for me to hand block the strings. The bridge is very simple, but it looks okay, so that's not a big thing. And then there is the issue of the volume and tone knobs being too close to the position my right hand naturally takes when I play. This also interferes with string blocking. I am playing this instrument through a Boss ME-80 and into a Peavey Classic 50 2X12. I am very pleased and surprised at the wide range of sounds this little steel makes. The finish is blemish free and beautiful. It weighs less than I expected, but it stays nicely in place on my lap. All said, I am looking forward to the journey ahead, and learning to play the Lap Steel. The volume and tone both are responsive, and it sounds great. I can live with a few imperfections for what the Electromatic costs. I learned long ago that steak costs more than hamburger. I think it was a good buy.J Lindley
There are a gazillion of these everywhere on line. I bought one long ago for around $299 and that was too much I sent it back. The fret board is the cheapest PVC plastic. The looks is pretty good. That is about it. Five hundred bucks is way out of line. Recording Kings are a better instrument for half the price.wy03bay
It has nice tone with a few limitations. The tuners are very poor quality, it is Chinese made. The bridge is fixed, so there is no chance of fine tuning intonation or string height. If you lay the bar on the strings on the higher registers, the second and third lowest strings don't touch the bar without placing pressure on the bar, adding to the intonation problem. The finish is absolutely beautiful, high gloss and nice color. That being said, it could use moleskin or felt to keep it from sliding around on you lap. I used black adhesive backed felt, worked perfectly.cheswinster

Bought this AB/Y pedal to allow me to use both my guitar amps…..Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb and Blues Jr. NOS (Tweed). I waffled back and forth between Morley, the Fender, and a more expensive one with lift, ground, etc. switches. I figured for the price (it was on sale after Thanksgiving) it would be noisy, hum, etc. but it's dead quiet and works EXACTLY as advertised. Years ago, I'd use my two Black face Fender Deluxe Reverbs by going out of the #2 input on the 1st amp and then go to the second Deluxe Reverb input #1, but you always had both amps on and the second one had to be set at a higher volume due to the #2 output being attenuated. This AB/Y pedal allows switching from one amp to the other, or having both on. Haven't tried using it with one amp and two guitars (the other option for the pedal's use). Das Fender-Pedalboard hat mich zu allererst optisch angesprochen, die Metalloptik ist schon sehr chic. Die rückseitige Kabelführung ist gut gemacht, insbesondere wenn man die Länge der Patchkabel und Stromkabel selber konfektioniert hat ohne großen Aufwand ein sehr aufgeräumtes Pedalboard. Vor allem hat man generell mehr Platz und kann die Effekte flexibler positionieren im vgl. zu Boards von Pedaltrain. Die Tasche ist auch gut, gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Warum nur 4 Sterne: Die Antirutschfüße sind aufgesteckt und möglicherweise leicht zu verlieren. Das könnte dann rutschig werden oder den Fußboden beschädigen.

What let it down for me was it eats Batteries or my one did The reason I purchased it was the fact that it can run on a PP3 battery … My one lasted on Duracell Alkaline Industrial battery 25 minutes I tried 3 new ones of these with a use by date of 2022, it now being 2019 And on a Duracell Alkaline Ultra Power PP3 apx 40 minutes – I used 3 of these My one might have had something wrong with it – that I don't know ……. I returned mine I must stress Only because of the battery problem …… I would recommend it if you use a power supply …….sparksman55

Fender heeft deze Space Delay de goede naam gegeven. Het heeft natuurlijk alle gebruikelijke funkties die je van een delay verwacht. Van slapback tot spacy gelaagde sfeer sounds. Maar met de feedback knop die tot extreem in de zelf-oscilatiestand kan, en de patterns switch is het geweldig experimenteren. De mod functie is een extraatje waar je van moet houden (doe ik) die is met trim pots goed in te stellen van zeer subtiel tot (werderom) extreem.
