Fender Mustang Guitar Amplifier Combo For Sale (2024 Update)

Cover band guitar players listen up – this amp is fantastic! After years of fronting bands that included a guitar hero and playing mostly rhythm, I found myself as the only guitarist in a 4 piece classic rock/R&B/blues cover band and gigging a lot. Needed to upgrade my gear fast to get the sounds and FX needed and on a tight budget. Over the last year and a half I went through a combination of different amps, volume pedals and modelers and wasn't totally happy with any of them. Checked out a Mustang IV at a music store then called Musicians Friend. I think I'm done! The amp sounds and effects are dynamite and with minimal tweaking of EQ/gain and FX to my personal preferences I'll be good to go. The presets really sound good, unlike those that come on most modelers. No need for extra EQ's and massive computer editing etc. Went with the presets for a rehearsal the first night I got it and it sounded great. Changing amp models, fx and parameters manually is easy with no need to deep edit on the computer unless you want to. Still need to set up the 4 button foot switch but sounds easy enough. I think the Fender amp presets probably sound the best (go figure!) but they're all good. The last 17 presets are just the amps themselves so you can easily create your own presets from scratch. There are 17 amp models that include 7 Fenders, 2 Marshalls, a Vox and a Hi Watt that I can think of off the top of my head. I'm playing classic rock, blues and R&B covers. What else do I need? In most cases those are the amps that were used on the records and the modeling is really good. I'm not a metal guy but the more modern hi gain amps sound good to me too. Great sounding amp. Plenty of power and celestion speakers. Easy to dial up sounds needed for any style song. Lose pedals and pedal board for smaller stage foot print, minimal cables and set up time. Great price. I have had just about every Half Stack,Combo brand out there over the years. Tube,SS ive had them..My band has been playing more and more shows this year in and out of clubs and i wanted to try a all in one amp for shows.This thing is just the trick for me.I have a Fender twin for clean with chorus and delay and a 5150 rock tone for dirty. I use the 4 and 2 buttonswitch for my set up. With those i can do anything.I mic up this amp on stage and have the vol at 3 and rock with the other guitar player in the band and he is using a all tube half stack. No problems hearing myself. And i like the tone better than my last amp the Orange CR120c. Great amp Fender!Mustang 4

The Mustang IV is not a small amp, it weighs enough to make it difficult to move between gigs, but it's worth the effort to play with a dual 12-inch combo amp. With 100 presets and some great sampling of classic amps such as VOX, Marshall, Silvertone, and nearly all the vintage Fender amps of the past such as the Champ, Princeton, Twin, etc- if you can't find a tone on this amp you never will on any amp. It's just that good. If you want to customize tones further you can create your own and store them to the amp if you own a computer, and take the time to download the Fender FUSE editing software. Attach a USB cable to the AMP and CPU, and you can download your own custom tones. The headphone jack is handy for practicing at home without disturbing the neighbors, and this amp has all the power you need to crank out some serious volume. The only downside I can mention would be out of 100 presets, a lot of them you'll never use, as a few are useless trashy tones someone at Fender thought were cool, but they're far from it. With the 50 tones that are on this that still sound great, you can make some fantastic music on this thing. Put it on a clean mode, add your own pedals, – just like any other Fender, it sounds great. The price is right. There's competition from Line6 and Peavy but their amps are not as nice IMO. If you are considering a modeling amp- look no further. Going back and forth between the LT25 and LT40s to compare identifical presets, both sounded good and similar even with the differences in cabinet and speaker size. A subjective impression is that the LT25 sounded a bit more distant or maybe dispersed. The LT40s sounded a bit more focused. It was a tough call as the LT25 is less expensive but I walked out of there with the LT40S. For desktop placement and low volume practice, the LT40s sounds great and with plenty of low end. I don't need loud volume but this amp can fill a 16'x24' loft with sound. The USB connection to my laptop was initially a no go. After deleting and then reinstalling the application, it has sinced worked great!Wally

I wanted an amp for practicing that gave me a massive range of options for a reasonable amount of money. I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.

If you like Fender modelling amp sounds, you'll find this perfect for headphone practice. The selection of Amps is a bit more limited than in a Fender Modelling amp, and the Effects depths similarly limited, but hey, the thing is the size of a matchbox and it allows you to jam along with your online selections, via Bluetooth. Your headphones must be cable, not Bluetooth, however, to avoid latency. But as the headphone cable goes over your shoulder straight into the Mustang Micro, you are not hampered by any connecting cable to your playback device. Until you try this, you may not appreciate how liberating and convenient this is. Its pivoting jack also allows it to go into a Strat recessed socket, many others don't.Geoff

Overall: I'm very pleased with the Micro overall. Read my review below. It really is great. If I were to suggest any changes to the Mustang Micro, it would be this: 1. Include some earbuds with the amp…I mean, why not? You can buy decent earbuds for ten bucks these days…probably cost Fender fifty cents and would mean ready to go out of the box. 2. In the new model, set it up to have a bluetooth output for using wireless headphones. While not a huge deal, I'd really rather not have that wire running from the headset to the guitar. I always end up fumbling with it when taking the guitar off or putting it on. 3. Go ahead and print the basic amp settings on the Micro. The reference card works. But, just having the amp models printed on the amp itself would be handy. There is enough blank space on the Micro to accommodate this.These are just my ideas for improvements. The amp is already a great sounding and super handy device.Ericbstl

I picked this up on a friend's recommendation as a better than average headset amplifier. My Likes: In terms of sound quality it is quite good. It is compact and I do like the USB charging feature a lot. The amp models are better than I expected and sound different with each guitar I use, just like a good amp should. The effects were a nice bonus, simple and effective. I haven't tested bluetooth connectivity yet, but I presume that it will do its job. My concerns, Use while Seated – nearly impossible,as with most headset amplifiers, especially with a side mounted jack . With my Fender Stratocaster, it is more easily used because of the top mount, but with any side mount, it gets caught on my knee and can get pulled out when seated. EQ feature. It does not seem to impact the sound very much in clean or driven settings. I would have preferred paying an extra $20 for a small set of wheels for hi/mid/low Overall it is a B+ for Fender, which could be a quick A with some more mounting options and a small 3 band EQKAS

Purchased this at the recommendation of a sales associate when I was looking at the Fender Champ 50xl. The GTX50 had great mod settings, I appreciated the on board tuning and the app customization but had a fatal flaw. The bluetooth and wireless function intermittently. While you can still use any programmed setting you will have to dial through possibly 100 settings to find it. Also the save feature in the menu would not allow me to save a new bluetooth name. I am highly capable with electronics and computers and this in my impression was either a firmware or hardware issue. I found that I am not the only one that came across this connectivity problem and there is no 100% fix as of yet that I could find online nor with Fender. Sound was good overall and i had fun when it worked but it was a hassle to connect. Exchanged for the Fender Champ 50xl which I now love, sounds great and the functions all work. Fender has a great product on their hands in the GTX50 if they correct the connectivity issues. I just dont want to wait and hope.Matt

This amp has all the great Fender amp models and while I have never owned or had time with the originals, I am extremely happy with the sound that comes from of all the Fender models. With the guitar plugged in, the tones are very pleasing, from the crispy clean tones of the Twin Reverb to the warm tones of the Deluxe to the crunchy tones of Champ. Very little dialing in required to get a great tone. The non-Fender models did not sound as good to me. I probably use the M/B Mark IIC the most rather than any other model. However, with a GFX unit plugged in, you have to be careful not to overdrive the input or the tones become brittle with an unpleasant buzz and harmonic. I expect this is true for any digital amp modeller, but is more noticeable in this one due to the great tones this amp already gives without any FX units in front. Without the right input signal and tweaking of the FX unit, the tone will only get worse. Functionally, things are not as great. I encountered some issues such as 1. Bluetooth connection to phone app will not discover the amp and requires me to switch on the amp twice for some reason. It always seems to find the amp after the second time. 2. The Master volume knob is digital. Thus, it increases the volume in increments rather than a smooth ramp. This is a problem if you are trying to get very low volumes. It jumps from a level of too quiet to just a bit louder than you need as you tweak the knob. 3. Bluetooth can interfere with a digital wireless system. Either the mobile app wont work or the wireless system wont work. None of these are deal breakers. And for the Fender amp tone modelling it does provide, I am happy with it. If they provided the digital brains of this amp as a GFX foot unit or even a rack unit, I'd sell all my other gear to buy it. I do wish they would continue with more updates, but it seems there is no further development being done on this. The last firmware update was in May 5th 2020.Arjun

I am very pleased with this amp and like the way it sounds. I bought it so I could have a smaller amp because with my bigger 90 Watt 1×12 amp, I need to set the volume extremely low to use it at home and sometimes it was still too loud. With my small 5" speaker 3 Watt amp the low end bass sounds were distorting when the volume was turned up. Although this 20 Watt amp surprised me with how loud it is, the Master volume control it has gives me exactly the volume I want without compromising the sound quality of the amp. It seems that no matter how low I turn the master volume it still sounds great. Try tilting it for enhanced projection. Using the FUSE software allowed me to import other people's settings to check them out. Then I was able to program the amp with the sounds I wanted. I was able to export my settings so I could save them in case something happened. I purchased the foot switch. It only will switch between 2 sounds, so I set it to switch between my rhythm sound and the same sound with a touch of distortion for leads. With the software you can switch between amp models, speaker cabinets, and add in from a large selection of pedals to tweak your sound. On your computer the effects you add in the software will actually appear as stomp box pedals, which you can place before the amp or place the effect as if it were in the effects loop. You can add up to 4 different kinds of effects. Without the software, on the fly, you can tweak the volume, gain, treble, bass, modulation effects, and delay/reverb. You can quickly save these on the fly settings by pressing the save button. The on the fly effects can be tweaked, but you can really control them precisely using the FUSE software.. I occasionally play music with some friends at their house. This amp allows me to travel as if I was taking along all my pedals, but without the hassle of actually having to carry them around and spend any setup time. I can have everything already saved to the amp and just plug-n-play.PM

I wanted to take this amp around the block before writing a review. I've had it a few weeks now so here it goes. Appearance – This is one cool looking amp. It almost looks like a blues junior in a way. It wants to be played. The little Fender logo on the front with the lightning bolt really sets it off. Almost like a hood ornament on a classic car. Very clean looking amp. Functionality – This is a big one for me and the part where I get a bit critical. First of all, the knobs are on the top of the amp. I love this. It makes changing settings much easier. I do, however wish that the effects were marked on the amp. Effects like phaser, chorus, etc are all there but you have to audibly turn the knob through them to find the one you want. I think Fender could have easily marked where the settings were. Thankfully, you are able to save your settings once you get everything dialed in the way you want. There are also various amp models to choose from which are mostly Fender amps. The amp is lightweight so carrying around isn't a problem. The back of the amp is closed which I don't like. I wish it were open so you could store stuff back there. All in all though, the amp is very user friendly. Tone – This amp sounds great! That's what I am most impressed with. It sounds like a Fender. Even the amp models like the Bassman sound really sweet. Having reverb on a practice amp is very nice. A lot of them don't. The tones you can get out of this amp are really great. I'm already planning on using for recording which was not my intentions when I purchased it. I watched a Fender video of the amp and was very impressed with the capabilities and sound quality. When the amp arrived I plugged in my Telecaster and tried the first few presets. The sound coming out of this amp was dreadful. It had a flat, drab sound. It was like a transistor radio next to a Bose radio. The Mustang just sounds awful. Don’t waste your money on the piece of junk.Roger

Really impressive feature set for the money. Way to go Fender and AMS! I love the simple,sleek design and easy to use interface. Getting a wide variety of tones has never been easier and the Fender Tone App is cool too and works as advertised but it's just as easy to edit/store any and all parameters right from the front panel.The design of the amp handle is smooth and I appreciate the Velcro straps in the back for securing footswitch and power cord.I bought this amp for use in my home/project studio but would use at a gig no problem.It is certainly loud enough. You will not find more amp for your dollar than the LT50! Very pleased with this purchase. I ordered late in the day on Friday and received the amp on Monday. Thanks AMS!Paul D

I am upgrading from the LT25 to more power, larger sound. The LT50 is the big bother to the LT25 and they have the same preset programing functions. I like the Fender tone both amps produce, the LT50 gives more power and volume. The 30 preset are usable and it allows you to program 30 additional preset base the modeling settings. I am using the LT50 for studio recording, it has a speaker line output jack in the rear cabinet, which is a good to add to the recording mix.NYCScotto

I got very excited and bought the GT 100 on the first day they came out. The amp is a lot of fun to play with, but some thing seemed off about the sound. The presets all seem a bit like they were under a wet blanket and muddy. I discovered Fender flipped on the cabinet simulations on all the presets which kills the sound. Turning them off brings back some liveliness. The Fender amps sound great when dialed in and I'm loving the chimey sound of the AC30. We are most likely in for a long haul of software updates based on feedback (two in the first three weeks) to dial it in. However, as an IoT platform the user experience will only get better if Fender chooses to invest in the platform. It is absolutely a next gen platform which I think requires a Bluetooth device to control. There are just too many settings available to do from the amp which could leave you spending more time fiddling than playing. Overall, I think the amp is great for a home player who doesn't want to go down the tube amp and pedal rabbit hole. It's plenty loud for gigs, but I would prefer a pedal board to using the onboard effects.General_Tso

The GT series is a definite step up tone-wise from the previous Mustang amps. The amp models are very good and the effects are fine. The ability to use several effects at once, both pre and post is great. The light weight of the amp is great! The Tone app which includes being able to manipulate the amp from an external device, stream music through it, and download tones from an online library does not work at all with either of my fairly recent Android devices (tablet or phone), so I have do all my tweaking at the amp through the tiny window. There is also no PC editor yet. Fender is working on firmware updates to hopefully address some of this. Using the optional footswitching is much more cumbersome with more hassle and fewer options than the older Mustang amps had (though this one does have a looper). I have mixed feeling about this product. I did not recommend it or call it a good value at this point. If Fender can fix the issues above with firmware updates it will be a killer good product. With so many of the touted features not working right yet I would say wait and see if they "finish" this thing before you buy.floeclay

I just sold my Mustang III V.2 and almost wish I had kept it. Here's why: The sounds on the Mustang GT are very "flat". Very little Reverb, and hardly any dimension or depth. Even when I increased the Reverb, it does not sound "natural". Hopefully I can modify it to get the sounds of the amp I just gave up. Not sure why Fender completely revamped the sounds, but the previous model had beefiness and punch, and so far this does not. All Fender had to do was JUST add the cool new features that the GT now has. Oh well, I have a lot of work to do myself now. 🙁D Neily

I've been playing guitar since a kid. My Dad used to own a guitar store where he was an amp technician. I'll always remember sneaking into his room when he wasn't home and playing his salmon pink Strat and Twin reverb amp. There was always a magic in them and they really inspired me. Fast forward 30 years and I've grown up just like him. Been playing professionally for a long time through some pretty nice gear but something in me always wanted to revisit that amp, it just had the perfect sounds I played lots of amps before choosing a Marshall 50w plexi as my amp of choice for gigging and it was good, no doubt a about that, played it for almost 15 years straight until one day buying that Twin I'd always so wished I also had. Found I played it far more than the plexi so actually ended up selling the Marshall and just sticking with the 65' reissue! It does everything the Marshall did and more I think. Playing them side by side before making the final decision to sell set my mind at ease because I couldnl get the same sounds from the Twin. Even did a little A/B recording with overdrive and no one could pick which one was which I play mainly classic rock and this amp is everything I'll ever need. Small wattage Amos always sound and feel small to me so was never interested in them, of it's too loud turn it down, the volume is far better than the plexi because that one sat on a hair trigger, really difficult to get a bedroom volume out of. The Twin is quote easy and pot smooth to use. Plexi goes from 0-almost full volume at half way to 1 on the dial. Love itJez

I received the amp yesterday and have only played it (both the vibrato and normal channel) for about half an hour in my living room, but I was so impressed that I wanted to go ahead and write a review, which I almost never do. I've been playing electric guitar almost 50 years and have owned many different amps, almost all Marshall or Fender, including a late 60s or early 70s 100 watt Marshall (no master volume), a mid 70s silver face Twin Reverb and Dual Showman, a 1987X 50 watt Marshall reissue, a '59 Bassman reissue (before the LTD version), a '65 Super Reverb reissue, a Twinolux, and a standard '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue. The only other amp I have currently is a wine red '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue (DRRI) with a P12Q Jensen speaker. The '65 DRRI has been one of my favorites. I like the 6V6 sound and I think it's hard to get a bad sound out of that amp. I really like the clarity of the 64 Custom Deluxe Reverb compared to my '65 DRRI. It is noticeably brighter than my '65 DRRI, but part of that may be because the '64 has a C12Q speaker while my current '65 DRRI has a P12Q speaker. Since reverb and vibrato work on both channels of this '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, the vibrato channel is like having the bright switch on (it reminds me of the way my super reverb sounded with the bright switch on) and the normal channel is like having the bright switch off. I like the way both the reverb and vibrato work and sound on this '64 more than the '65 DRRI. The same guitar (a Strat with '69 custom shop pickups) has noticeably longer sustain when I play it through this '64 compared to my '65 DRRI. Some people have mentioned a possible problem with noise (hiss or hum) from this amp, due to the way the channels are connected together, but I hear virtually no noise at all from this amp, not when it is sitting still (with both normal and vibrato channels turned up to 3), and not when I turn any of the knobs. I wish I had bought this amp in the first place instead of the '65 DRRI.Kenneth

I'm a Fender fan to the core. I love their electric guitars and amps but their Amps aren't even affordable anymore. They've completely out priced themselves and either you are going to pay for a severely overpriced bare bones amp or a severely overpriced amp with far more electronics than a lot of us care to deal with. This is a great sized combo amp that's easy to use and has a great sound and plenty of power and all at a great price!!! There is no reason Fender couldn't do more of this…combo's that aren't easy to use with plenty of effects and a fair price for blue collar musicians. I used a Fender Princeton Chorus combo this same size mic'd through a sound system for over two decades and it started having issues. This was the closest amp I could get (and afford). The 100 has everything you need in a combo amp and at a fraction of the price of everything else Fender makes. Buy it! You won't be disappointed!Josh

I bought this amp because my gig amp died a cyber twin 2-12s 100 watts that was about 16 years old. I have had many Fender amps they were great. I do country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. I figured 100 watts would put it out there and it does. At performing volume, the distortion is a pure heavy metal on the clean channel. Mine is not much good for high volume for my type of music. I have an old champion 110 75 watt that I will be using It has worked for me when the others were down. Not sure what to do.stev_majo

Sound: With the second channel .First it had the twin reverb and super sonic voicing with a chain loop for pedals I was set on that alone. When it got to the house and realized I didn't need my pedal chain and it sounds amazing even though ill still use my pedals here and there. The bassman, tweeds , Princeton all clean or dirty are amazing to play . again to get those sounds with out the tubes and speakers is amazing.. You get volumes that punch against you that are clear without any nasty whitenoise or unwanted sounds. the dirty settings added with the compression build in make all that possible. Outta all my guitars I enjoy to plug into this amp .My 63 firebird , g400 s.g. and my jaguar Ease of Use: Its real easy for me to get the sounds I need .I'm well aware of all the amps they used for the voicing.For new players it might take a little to understand but with no time you'll understand how to dial it in and add the right effects to the amp models to get those amazing fender amps . Quality: Only had it for a week but as for holding it up and down 3 flights of stairs at the studio in Philadelphia id say the strap is well build . Speakers have not blown but I have not had to dial all the way up amps loud as it is half way . Value: yes it is im surprised its not another $100 more.Wish more companies would do this. Manufacturer Support: No problems yet . But in the past fender has always been amazing to me. Overall: (DON'T LET THE $399 TRICK YOU)When dialed up there are so many different fender amps you have here. First off the blackface style clean channel is just amazing. id say that its a twin or deluxe especially when you dial in the spring reverb only thing missing to call it that are the speakers/tubes but fender has made it very clear they can accumulate that sound with out the tubes . I know the tubes will make a difference but not much to this amp unless you have the trained ear for tubes you can't tell.The 2nd channel with all the voice modeling Id say every setting is 99.7 spot on with the models . I love this amp .After watching a few videos online of the 100 I decided to go with it .My friend has the champion 50 so I have already played through this style of amp. When I saw the 2×12 combo version with a double channel pedal it was set in stone . I love combos more than any kind of amp . I came on zZounds looking for an amp to hit the road to the higher states of the new England area of the states in November and December and a long ride from New Jersey to Chicago and Milwaukee in January . the amazing price for a well build and sounding amp there was no way i wasn't gonna leave the website with out another toy.So after adding to the card I headed over to guitars and ordered the squier 70s classic vibe jaguar .One of my favorite things about this amp is I don't have to change out the speakers to get that sound I want. its easy for me to use because I know how to dial in the right sounds to get the sound of the amps in amp unit.Mike

Going back and forth between the LT25 and LT40s to compare identifical presets, both sounded good and similar even with the differences in cabinet and speaker size. A subjective impression is that the LT25 sounded a bit more distant or maybe dispersed. The LT40s sounded a bit more focused. It was a tough call as the LT25 is less expensive but I walked out of there with the LT40S. For desktop placement and low volume practice, the LT40s sounds great and with plenty of low end. I don't need loud volume but this amp can fill a 16'x24' loft with sound. The USB connection to my laptop was initially a no go. After deleting and then reinstalling the application, it has sinced worked great!Wally

I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.

A lot of the reviews posted here are for Strats, so I'm not sure what's going on. Anyway, I bought the red sparkle Squier Bullet Tele. The finish is gorgeous and that's what prompted me to do a spontaneous purchase. I have only experienced owning USA Teles, but I've played some Squiers that really impressed me. This one? Not so much. I don't detect any finish on the back of the neck although I'm sure it has a sealer of some sort. The body finish is nice, but the bridge hardware is cheaply made and I'll be replacing that for sure. Same goes for the tuners. I'm pretty sure it has some high frets because it goes dead starting at the 10th fret, but some of that was back bow. I loosened the truss and got rid if it, but now when I sight down the neck the forward bow is pretty obvious. I don't notice the frets being sharp on the ends. It now plays plays pretty good after sitting long enough for the truss Rod to settle, but I may need to tighten it just a little to get rid of some of the forward bow. The neck has a very comfortable profile. The body is thinner than my American Teles, but it doesn't bother me – in fact it's lighter which I enjoy. The body is Poplar and that's fine by me. I may leave the back of the neck alone for now because it actually feels pretty good, aesthetics are certainly lacking, but the body makes up for that. I'm sure with a little patience and help from my friends I'll have a nice instrument. All the basics are there. As is, it's not all that great, but still better than my first electric guitar! -!an old Kalamazoo single pickup thing with a bolt on neck back in the mid sixties. Like the title says, this thing has potential. I probably couldn't buy a finished body for what I paid.Ronnie

I bought my black metallic Squier Bullet eight years ago when GC was having a Columbus Day sale. I was looking for a guitar to which I could permanently mount my Roland GR-33 guitar synth's GK2a pickup. Previously I had the pickup mounted on my '96 Strat, and I didn't like this fit because I couldn't close my Strat's case with the pickup installed. I have a gig bag for this Squier, and it fits fine in the bag with pickup installed. Anyway, about the guitar. Right out of the box, it played great, requiring only a minimal amount of action adjustment. I was surprised at how good the pickups sounded, it being a Bullet and all. But the humbucker sounds especially nice when playing the guitar through my Marshall. The neck pickup has a decent sound, but not quite up to the snuff of a good alnico pickup. Still, for what the guitar cost, I really can't complain. If I want to, at some later date, I can always change out the neck pickup to a better alnico model. One thing I especially like about this black Bullet is its looks. The photos here at GC don't show it off all that well, but the guitar body's finish is metallic and the pickguard is a heavy metal flake. It looks spectacular under the lights. And the black hardware does a great job of completing that black look. The Bullet's body is thinner than a typical Strat or Squier Affinity or Classic Vibe body. The result is a light weight guitar, but there is no sacrifice in tone.Michael

I would first like to begin with- I normally would be giving a 5 star rating of this unit/Squier, as I have typically never had problems prior to the recent/earlier this year upset regarding shipping containers/etc being paused/sitting in the ocean/etc, delaying container delivery. PLEASE READ ON FOR FULL EXPLANATION. Two imperative points- 1. The fret ends were so sharp, when I say it was not playable (both sides/neck in its entirety), I mean, it was not playable (THE DATE OF INSPECTION WAS EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND I IMMEDIATELY ASSOCIATED THE FRET ENDS PROBLEM BEING DUE TO THE SHIPS BEING DELAYED/SITTING IN THE OCEAN/ETC- It looked to me like maybe between March and July of this year, although, I couldn't quite make out the stamped month). As well, the serial # of the guitar, of course, was of this year/'22. I maintain/work on most all my guitars, and I normally would've tightened up the fret ends myself, however, there was a hairline crack on the red sparkle finish at the bass side neck joint (which i just couldn't accept, visually), as well as a small tooling gash along the top edge of the headstock. The replacement/reordered guitar arrives tomorrow. 2. THE NEWER UNITS (AS, ONCE AGAIN, THIS IS A 2022-BUILT UNIT) ARE TOP-MOUNT/STRING THROUGH THE BACK OF THE BRIDGE, NOT "STRING-THRU" as the description indicates (and, with Squier bridge mounting, these are 5-screw mount plates, which, if ever you want to upgrade your hardware, particularly, w/the bridge, you must find an aftermarket unit that is "string through the back", along w/the correct string spacing (with Squier, they're 54mm, typically), and you'll typically need to redrill given it's rare to find plates that have Squier mounting dimensions that provided string through the back holes. I'm upgrading to a Babicz, given the results found. Also, there are two string trees (the second being a tree for both the D and G strings), and it looks great, actually, with both. Overall, I was impressed with the finish, as it was nearly flawless (aside from the hairline finish crack mentioned previously). The fretwire/fretwork, felt great….I found maybe two or so "slight" dead spots, which weren't enough of a "ping", or string buzz to be of concern, or critiquing the fretwork negatively. Rather, I was impressed with the fretwork. As well, it's important to note that the mounting of the bridge, along with the neck positioning/etc, was spot-on. No misalignment of the bridge mount/etc (and the same goes for the nut spacing). I've always been impressed with what Fender/Squier/Jackson are putting out. The quality is typically quite high…as for this unit, the quality is high, but the results of the environmental dilemma with either being stuck in a container offshore, or, sitting in a facility for weeks/months/etc, have had quite the impact on this guitar. As an important example, I had purchased a Bullet Tele last year (the unit in Burst color offered here through MF), and it was/is flawless, and I completely upgraded every part. As I own approx'ly 53 guitars ranging primarily from ESP to Jackson (some of which in the better than $2K range), I love to take what's titled as a "beginner" guitar, and totally hotrod it with high end parts (such is the case w/this guitar). As mentioned above, I've reordered the guitar, as MusiciansFriend provided me a generous discount (without having to ask) to accommodate me. Upgrades- 1. Babicz Full Contact Tele "Ashtray" bridge Gold, 2. Genuine Fender Gold control plate, 3. Fender Infinity Gold strap locks, 4. Gold input jack Ferrule, 5. I bought a Fender Champion XL 50 for a small light weight amp to bring to local jam sessions. I have to say I am not disappointed. I know there's no comparing solid state to tubesl when it comes to filling up a room with sound but this little amp cranks. It's closest competition is the Boss Katana and those are really nice. I like the ones I've played, but I'm really into that clean Fender sound and this amp has it in spades. You get the full range of cleans, from black or silver faces to tweeds. There's overdrive and high gain models in there too but as I said it's the cleans that sold me. It is a two channel amp, but I'm not sure why anyone would use the first channel as tall the digital goodies are on the second. That being said, the digital reverb in this amp has a bit of a whistle I don't like. Instead I used the chorus on the amp and a Boss Fender Reverb pedal. If your playing on a stage lugging around a forty pound tube amp may be the thing to do, but for sitting around a garage with friends this amp will save your back and please your ears.ADarkBard

I usually don't leave comments, but feel I must let the frustrated AMP user know, yes Jessica there IS a Santa Claus! Was looking for an AMP that was "SIMPLE" – On channel 1 ONLY the volume is usable, I didn't check but probably the Bass & treble too! On Channel 1 the gain control is set and turning the knob does nothing, and none of the FX are accessible! I was so busy checking out Channel 2 that I didn't check to see if Treble & Bass could be adjusted. You have 12 "Voice Settings" and 13 FX Selections. So I checked out all 12 Voice Settings combined with all 13FX settings – add this to checking these out with a single coil Strat and a Jazz/Full Shred Charvel DK24. I feel this is one of the BEST choices I have made in electric guitar choices! The AMP sound CLEAN!!!! I Imagine Channel 1 would be great with an Accoustic as well! Don't have one though! Channel 2 is GREAT and I don't need any more than it has to offer. It is so uncomplicated & stress free! If you are an expert guitar player and can concentrate more on AMP settings, rather than playing, then go for the Katana 50 MKII, or the VOX Cambridge. I was thinking hard on all three. When I got to GC I had pretty much decided on the Fender Champion 50XL. The VOX Cambridge is $150 to $160 more, with only $10 between the Fender & Katana. Since what is on the AMP is all my mind can handle, I decided to go with the Fender 50XL. It has to be on of the simplest AMPS to operate. I do have an Ibanez Tube Screamer, and if I have a need I can look at other pedals down the road. I do plan on getting a Cry Baby! Latter down the road I might get more pedals, but for right now this AMP has all I need. The Celestion Speaker sound GREAT! I couldn't be happier – it is as loud as I need – It's EASY to learn – NONE of the settings sounded muddy, muffled, or shrill. If I was going to get an AMP that needs a lot of downloading, I would have gone with the VOX Cambride. Glad I traded in my old AMP!Karl, M

Great overall amp. The obvious comparison is the Boss Katana 50. I tried both and I found I could dial in a sound I like from the Champion easier than the Katana. The Katana has way more features and the connect-ability. I prefer just plug in and playing which was far easier with the Champion. One of the largest selling points for me was the headphone jack feature for silent playing. The Champion has it right in front of the control panel and it's a 3.5mm jack. The Katana has one but its on the back and it's a 1/4inch jack which would require an adapter to 3.5mm. The location and the fact that it's 1/4in jack gave the Champion the edge. I also preferred that taller design of the Champion. It made it more comfortable to reach and adjust. Some of the cons are the knobs. especially for the "voice" and the "fx-select". A rotary knob would make it far easier to select the presets. Fender does provide a 3 color LED light that changes when you reach the next model or effect. However, a rotary knob that stops at the preset would be a better. Another con is that the reverb effect is combined with chorus and delay. I would much prefer it to be on it's own rather than combined. This is something that the Katana has. Overall the Champion is great for home use and I would recommend it to someone that wants a good amp that is easy to just plug and play. If you want more effects and enjoy experimenting then the Boss Katana would be a better choice.E. Bran

I played a solid state boutique amp for years. It was a 100 watt Pearce amp, with a 2-12'' cabinet. As the great Amos Garrett once said, "The older you get, the smaller your amps get." I decided to go tube and purchased the '60s Fender Princeton and Delux Reverb re-makes. The '65 Delux Reverb remake is simply the best sounding amp I've ever played. I play classic rock, jazz, blues and some world music. It excels, and I mean excels, in every context. Warm, articulate and clean, and the break-up is just so silky. I had a '68 Super Reverb ($400 new back then!) which I sold back in the 1970's. Loved it! Big mistake parting with it (look what their selling for now!). I recently tried a Fender Champion 40. The Champ was a good amp, but just didn't match the tone and warmth of a tube amp. My '65 Deluxe Reverb is ear candy! Although it lacks the "horsepower" of the Super (my gig days are behind me now so I don't need it), it still has enough muscle to rattle your teeth and fill the room. More importantly it was instant smiles and fond memories the minute I fired it up! My Strat, '61 SG and Fender Acoustic (all from AMS!) lit it up! I couldn't be more pleased and impressed. Highly recommend the amp and AMS! Ordered Friday, arrived Sunday, and their payment plans make getting my gear from them simple, easy, affordable and a "no-brainer". My next purchase is already in my cart! High fives to AMS for excellent product lines and outstanding customer service! While it's nice to see and touch something before you buy it, AMS has been very dependable and reliable. Well worth waiting 2-3 days to avail yourself of the value and service(s) they provide!G2

Just a classic Fender tone. The clarify of the clean tone is outstanding. Can get a great crunch tone as well when you get the volume above about 4. I play a lot of styles and have a lot of amps. I think I still prefer my Marshall JVM for very saturated distorted tones, but have been having a ball trying different overdrive pedals with the amp–which it takes very well. If you are ok using pedals to craft different tones, this can be a very versatile amp for all styles.Robb

The 65 SRRI is a very interesting amp that I've had quite a good amount of experience with now, owning a total of 3 of the reissues, 1 from 2001 and 2 from 2017. In my estimation first and foremost, the amp is too loud. If using this for anything but LOUD outdoor/indoor shows, than you're wasting your time and money. The good qualities of this amp are that it handles treble frequencies unlike any way I've ever heard an amp before. Not to be cliche, but it can really only be experienced what "touch-sensitivity" means in this amp. It's a really weird experience because you hear things you don't normally hear, and they're pronounced really articulately. This in my opinion is why Texas Flood sounded the way it did, there's all these harmonics going on that aren't normally produced at low volumes, in a 1×12 cabinet. So now the negatives, this amp is not a jazz amp, it's not a metal or even high-gain amp. It's clean, it's loud, and that's how it works. The 10-inch speakers cut out alot of bottom end that 12 inch speakers give, so you get a very narrow, focused frequency range. I think the speakers themselves and the voicing of the amp in combination give you that sound, but nonetheless the amp doesn't lend itself to anything less than bright, tight, and focused. It doesn't sway from that sound no matter how you EQ it. How I used the amp was in my apartment and it's too loud, too specific of a sound, and is just a real problem unless you need both of the qualities mentioned. If you want loud, clean, and nothing else, this is your amp. I would recommend this product based on it's quality and sound, but only if the person who wanted it needed what it has to offer.Nathan

To preface… I've owned pretty much all the major Fender amps at one point or another. Blues Jrs, Blues Deluxe, Hot Rod Deluxe & Deville, Supersonic, 65 Deluxe Reverb, 65 Princeton, 65 Twin Reverb, 68 custom Princeton Twin & Deluxe and the buck stops here. This is currently the best sounding, most versatile amp that Fender makes, and probably the closest an amp has ever come to being perfect. If you're looking for the world's greatest clean tone/pedal platform/sublime breakup this is it. Period. Save yourself a bunch of money and time and just buy it. One and done. I had a friend recommend me this expensive/heavy beast of an amp years ago and I didn't listen.. turned off by the price and weight. I proceeded to own almost every other Fender but none of them lit me up inside like this one. The reverb is heaven, the tremolo is perfect, it sounds WONDERFUL at 2 on the volume for home practice and WONDERFUL at 3-4 for a gig. Yes it's awkward to carry, yes it's heavy-ish (altho not as much as the twin), but none of that matters because of the sound it produces. It will highlight your playing dynamics, and the true sound of your guitar like no other amp. It will inspire you to play more, it will make you play above your abilities, it gives back. It can handle any kind of music. It sounds great with any guitar you throw at it (although you absolutely must experience it with a strat). It's got tilt back legs which along with the vintage style slot tuners are probably Leo's greatest underappreciated inventions. Don't expect to get this bad boy to break up at home or smaller stage volumes, arm yourself with some good OD pedals. It produces an extremely loud, FULL, 3D sound which spreads across the stage. BONUS- a little known fact… the often neglected normal channel makes a fantastic bass amp. Just try it! If you want an amp you will own for life, an amp to kill your amp GAS once and for all, when only the absolute best will do… the SR is your amp.Strataholic

800W Thunder Box. So far, so good, so what, right? Many preset settings to try and find the right sound, or you can jump online and find user premade settings and tweak to your earhole's content. Connect via Bluetooth and change settings with your phone (via app) or the footswitch. It pumps much air, so probably not the best home practice amp if you value glass in and around your home, but perfect for every other application. Recommended outside toy. Not too heavy to carry either. Good quality, and priced as expected for a Fender product.Brian R.

Overall: unless you are on tour with Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, or Metalica I can't imagine you needing much more than this combo offers. I have many basses, and i am able to capture the individual characteristics of each easily. I owned, and still own a Rumble 500 V3 and love that also. The technical advancements, and improvements are the reason I purchased it. I saw a future in updateable firmware, downloadable presets, WiFi capabilities, and USB capabilities. I am about a little over my third month with the Stage 800, and I haven't even started with the foot pedal, set list programming and looping. All we really wanna know is what does it sound like? It sounds like just about everything I've ever heard and that is good. Forget the name, or intended preset, the question is does it sound good? It sounds fantastic. In addition it is light and plenty loud, but can played silently while you practice through your earphones, as you're learning music streaming through your Bluetooth connection. The foot switch is included with the Stage 800, and you have the Fender Tone App you can download on your phone and adjust the tone from across the room, and download new presets created by other users. It is the future coming together with Fender and i love it!Franklin

This thing is wonderful. For such a tiny speaker with low wattage, RUMBLE, is no joke and not just advertising. I'm surprised but at low volumes it sounds great, and mid as well. I've yet to pump it to the max but I live in an apartment so I'm happy w/ low to mid. The presets are great, and you can download an additional 50 or so presets with the computer application. The tones are sweet and warm; Fender got it RIGHT!! Beats the VOX emulator by far. VOX sounds tinny and hollow; Fender warm and thick; love it and would recommend. THANK YOU FENDER!! I love the looks of my little Fender tweed amp and it lives on a table in my home office. I like it for my workbench to test guitar wiring. Most of all, it's become my go to amp when I just want to kick back and play an acoustic-electric or an electric guitar…anywhere. It is truly portable. By the way, I play Taylor's, Gibson's, and Fenders and they sound fine through it. You can dial in a decent clean sound or dirty it up a bit, but come on guys, what do you expect from 2-3" speakers and a 9volt battery. Personally, I think it sounds good. I have tube amps for all the sounds I need. Sometimes I just want to make some noise and I can move the little tweed amp to the edge of the table, plug a 36" cable into the amp and guitar and turn it on and play. Pretty simple. By the way, it also has a 1/4" jack for headphones. It will take a 9volt power supply but I don't have one. It's been living on the Fender battery that came with the amp and doing fine. By the way, it's lightweight but solidly built. It's a plastic looking toy. It's real tweed baby.Bart

I really like this because of how it looks. It is functional, but there's basically limited control. Right now it's in my kitchen. I can plug in a guitar and hear myself play drills but trust me, the sound quality is so bad you don't want to push this unless your hearing is extremely twisted somehow. The controls will confound you. Your money could be better spent, but Musician's Friend has it for less than anyone, anywhere else I've seen it, but if the few extra duckets aren't too big an issue for you and you like to collect stuff related to your favorite thing in life (anything music) I would buy it again just to have it to look at. But if it will be the only amp you'll have you'll be sorry. Maybe look at a Pignose. Those are cool and the sound will make you happy with your purchase. Theyre battery operated, lightweight and more. This thing isn;t much more than a toy for children of all ages though except a child might not be inspired to pursue guitar playing after hearing it just once. Too discouraging, it would be, I'm positive. If you don't have another amp and money's tight save a little longer or finance the Pignose. This thing is just a pig, period. But it's cool looking.WFnN

This is not a stadium amplifier, or strong enough for a concert hall. It is a great small amplifier for practicing when overwhelming volume will wake everyone in the house or start the neighbors complaining. It has great sound and dissolves any fuzz or squelch. The controls are easy to use and adjust with great range for such a small amp. I bought the amp for an inexpensive junior guitar (38") so i could practice and improve my skill after a 3 decade hiatus. I did not want to invest a lot of money only to find that I was no longer interested in really stepping out. It is perfect for me to relearn, and to sample some new music with an electric acoustic guitar. I made a very good choice, and recommend this amp if you want to practice on your front porch or in your living or rec room. The sound is incredible for a one ampere peak to peak amplifier. Much louder and more defined than one would expect. The fidelity is excellent. A great buy for a small start without having to take out a 2nd mortgage.roberwit14

It's a novelty item I keep on my desktop. I can actually play my guitar through it, but it doesn't produce "good" tone. However, it does produce a tone that sounds 'cheap' but not horrible if you make a little effort to 'dial in' the best sound you can get working with what you've got. I collect mini amps and added this one to the shelf. I did plug it in and as expected, not much in the way of power or tone, but I had no expectations beyond looks. It is nicely detailed with corners, handle and grille with logos. It's is what it is. A detailed scale model of a Fender Amp. Fits perfectly into the collection. Not likely to plug it up again. Equally poor on AC or Battery. Rated 5 as collectible replica. Rated 1 as an amplifier. Hence the 3. Wouldn't recommend as a guitar amp.Mike
