Purchased this at the recommendation of a sales associate when I was looking at the Fender Champ 50xl. The GTX50 had great mod settings, I appreciated the on board tuning and the app customization but had a fatal flaw. The bluetooth and wireless function intermittently. While you can still use any programmed setting you will have to dial through possibly 100 settings to find it. Also the save feature in the menu would not allow me to save a new bluetooth name. I am highly capable with electronics and computers and this in my impression was either a firmware or hardware issue. I found that I am not the only one that came across this connectivity problem and there is no 100% fix as of yet that I could find online nor with Fender. Sound was good overall and i had fun when it worked but it was a hassle to connect. Exchanged for the Fender Champ 50xl which I now love, sounds great and the functions all work. Fender has a great product on their hands in the GTX50 if they correct the connectivity issues. I just dont want to wait and hope.Matt
This amp has all the great Fender amp models and while I have never owned or had time with the originals, I am extremely happy with the sound that comes from of all the Fender models. With the guitar plugged in, the tones are very pleasing, from the crispy clean tones of the Twin Reverb to the warm tones of the Deluxe to the crunchy tones of Champ. Very little dialing in required to get a great tone. The non-Fender models did not sound as good to me. I probably use the M/B Mark IIC the most rather than any other model. However, with a GFX unit plugged in, you have to be careful not to overdrive the input or the tones become brittle with an unpleasant buzz and harmonic. I expect this is true for any digital amp modeller, but is more noticeable in this one due to the great tones this amp already gives without any FX units in front. Without the right input signal and tweaking of the FX unit, the tone will only get worse. Functionally, things are not as great. I encountered some issues such as 1. Bluetooth connection to phone app will not discover the amp and requires me to switch on the amp twice for some reason. It always seems to find the amp after the second time. 2. The Master volume knob is digital. Thus, it increases the volume in increments rather than a smooth ramp. This is a problem if you are trying to get very low volumes. It jumps from a level of too quiet to just a bit louder than you need as you tweak the knob. 3. Bluetooth can interfere with a digital wireless system. Either the mobile app wont work or the wireless system wont work. None of these are deal breakers. And for the Fender amp tone modelling it does provide, I am happy with it. If they provided the digital brains of this amp as a GFX foot unit or even a rack unit, I'd sell all my other gear to buy it. I do wish they would continue with more updates, but it seems there is no further development being done on this. The last firmware update was in May 5th 2020.Arjun
Overall: So I bought this due to the convenience of it. I wanted to stop with having a dozen pedals and modelling amps seem to have come a long way. And for a bedroom player, the volume and sound aren't much to complain about. [and sound of all the effects and multiple amp/cab combos aren't that bad either]. I can definitely get a decent tone from the combinations I choose or the presets already made.BUTI hate this amplifier. Without the tone app, it is NOT easy to use/customize your own presets, and even altering presets is not intuitive at all. And Tone app NEVER connects to the amp. I got it updated [huge pain in itself to accomplish], and the Bluetooth connectivity is absolutely horrendous.It says on the app to maintain a distance of 3ft from the amp for connectivity [ridiculous in itself to be hovering over the amp constantly when you're adjusting or creating effects], but it takes 10 minutes of trial and error WITH MY PHONE SITTING ON THE AMP, for it to finally connect. But God forbid I forget to maintain 3ft of distance and it disconnects, only for me to restart the process.Also, the effects are a terrible rabbit hole, more of a con than a pro for me. I found myself playing with effects more than actually playing the guitar and I'm generally just dissatisfied at the end of every "session" I try having with it.Quality is getting 2 stars because the amp itself it up to standard, but the almost necessary connectivity to the Tone app is basically a failure on Quality Control. There shouldn't be a [useless] FAQ section for connectivity issues the same day the amp is released.It's sort of like this video game comparison: play western RPG games for a few months [Skyrim, Witcher 3, Dragon's Dogma, etc], and then switch to playing japanse RPG games.. the difference is insane; you get flooded with all kinds of things you can do pretty much right away, but your direction is constantly being thrown off due to exactly that.Great idea, terrible execution. I'm going back to a traditional set up – a simple but nicer tube combo amp and a pedal board. You can't beat it for an enthusiastic bedroom player.

I bought this amp to have a small, cheap portable amp to play harmonica through. For that, it is decent enough. I use a Shure bullet mic and the amp produces good enough tone and is plenty loud for practice or small gigs. When I plug my tele into it the clean channel is decent and clear, but the overdrive channel is junk and hurts my ears. I would rather run the clean channel and use a fuzz or distortion pedal. So that being said it is decent enough to practice licks on and it is tiny so it tucks away easy. If you look around you can find a bigger amp with more features used for the same price but if you want a new amp, this one is probably worth what they charge for it. I would only buy it if you have a specific purpose for it though.Roy
It's small, and pretty portable. However, the sound quality is trash, given the speaker is tiny, but the overdrive is just horrible. If you buy this, try returning it. If you can't return it, just get a fuzz pedal and leave it on clean. Imo, just buy the mustang lt25-50Hotdog Games
I actually bought it 4 years ago, but realized I never wrote a review. It's surprising how light it is, almost felt like a toy. That being said, it's sturdily built, just very, very lightweight which is quite nice. I do mostly clean channel playing, not really much into heavy rocking much anymore. For clean channel playing, this little amp has a great sound. It puts out quite a bit of volume. I have used it playing for church and was more than enough volume to be heard with folks singing. The distortion is just okay, which is what kept me from giving the amp a 5-star review. But, most folks who want to rock out, probably aren't going for a 10-watt amp anyway. The distortion is decent enough for use in practice or playing along to your own music collection.

I picked this up for my son so he could practice around the house. Killer stocking stuffer! When the son is away the dad will now play. I started playing my Mustang Bass through this and it did the job. It's a small amp, not a practice amp. This is perfect for camping trips, rocking at the office or kicking it in the backyard. Took a chance on this and purchased it without every playing it. Watched video reviews on it and gave it a shot. Yes, I know that it's small in size, smaller than a kids lunchbox but I hoped it'd produce quality sound and what I got was muddy sounds at increased volumes. It's not clear sounding and my goal to play through an amp is to sound good and I felt if I actually played this in front of people, the muddyness would make me sound amateurish. So, for what you pay for this, yes, you get amplified but it's not real great quality, unless you're a metal player because you don't get a clean sound from this. This ain't no micro cube or vox. If you were stranded on a gig island and have to pick one thing pick this amp. To me, more and more gig situations need this amp. Where it's absolutely the best in the world is when you don't need the audience to hear the actual amp. Not saying it's the only thing it does well but in my opinion this amp should/could be pointed right at you with XLR cable(s) (yes, it's stereo) direct to the board. Hey, have you ever completed a perfect sound check only to find that two songs into the gig you're not loud enough? What a coincidence, me too! With this amp you can turn up the master volume and it doesn't affect the volume you sent to the board. YAY. It wins this category of setup hands down. The patch you set up ALWAYS sounds the same to the mixer. And less mics on stage usually equals less problems. The minute you get this amp program strings of "amps" for instance I use about 10 variations: vibrato, rotary, phaser, etc (which can be switched on/off) so for instance 41 is a tweed champ with phaser 42 is a tweed champ with vibrato 43 is a tweed champ with rotary THEN 51 is a Marshall Stack with phaser, 52 is a Marshall with vibrato. You get the idea. This way you're not overwhelmed with all the patches that you'll never remember. You can thank me later. My speaker can be harshat loud volumes so you might change the speaker but I got mine used so I don't know where it's been haha.pauhatto-5
Fender hit it out of the ballpark with the Mustang III V2 amp. I've had many guitar amps throughout my career, including new and vintage tube, solid state and modeling ones, and this little amp can run with the best. 100 watts, lightweight & great sounding with lots of amp models, and up to 4 effects to choose from with the onboard editor. You can keep it simple and use one of the amp models and your own effects pedals. This amp takes outboard pedals very well. You can play this amp at whatever volume you need and it sounds the same. I've replaced a Fender Twin Reverb, that I'd have to crank way too loud even with the 1/2 power mod, to sound good and I leave my pedal board at home. If you want to go deeper, the Fender Fuse software, your computer and a USB cable, makes it even easier to edit, save and load other players creations if you want. One small negative, there is no Fuse app for the Apple or Android tablets. Come on Fender! For the beginning guitar player or a veteran, you can't go wrong with the Mustang III V2.srsmith
Wine Red color is really beautiful! Much nicer than the pinkish image shown online. Even my wife says it is nice looking. Its my first electric amp ever. I've been playing my acoustic on a Fishman. I'm still learning how too use it. Downloading the software was reasonably easy. Pretty much learning by playing with the dials. I have not figured how to input music into it, I do not have any mp3 players. Having an input for headphone is great, I can play all night without disturbing anyone. I just ordered a 3 foot extension for by earphone. Difficult to sit so close to the amp with a regular headphone cable. In hindsight, blue tooth would be nice.feba0

I got very excited and bought the GT 100 on the first day they came out. The amp is a lot of fun to play with, but some thing seemed off about the sound. The presets all seem a bit like they were under a wet blanket and muddy. I discovered Fender flipped on the cabinet simulations on all the presets which kills the sound. Turning them off brings back some liveliness. The Fender amps sound great when dialed in and I'm loving the chimey sound of the AC30. We are most likely in for a long haul of software updates based on feedback (two in the first three weeks) to dial it in. However, as an IoT platform the user experience will only get better if Fender chooses to invest in the platform. It is absolutely a next gen platform which I think requires a Bluetooth device to control. There are just too many settings available to do from the amp which could leave you spending more time fiddling than playing. Overall, I think the amp is great for a home player who doesn't want to go down the tube amp and pedal rabbit hole. It's plenty loud for gigs, but I would prefer a pedal board to using the onboard effects.General_Tso
The GT series is a definite step up tone-wise from the previous Mustang amps. The amp models are very good and the effects are fine. The ability to use several effects at once, both pre and post is great. The light weight of the amp is great! The Tone app which includes being able to manipulate the amp from an external device, stream music through it, and download tones from an online library does not work at all with either of my fairly recent Android devices (tablet or phone), so I have do all my tweaking at the amp through the tiny window. There is also no PC editor yet. Fender is working on firmware updates to hopefully address some of this. Using the optional footswitching is much more cumbersome with more hassle and fewer options than the older Mustang amps had (though this one does have a looper). I have mixed feeling about this product. I did not recommend it or call it a good value at this point. If Fender can fix the issues above with firmware updates it will be a killer good product. With so many of the touted features not working right yet I would say wait and see if they "finish" this thing before you buy.floeclay
I just sold my Mustang III V.2 and almost wish I had kept it. Here's why: The sounds on the Mustang GT are very "flat". Very little Reverb, and hardly any dimension or depth. Even when I increased the Reverb, it does not sound "natural". Hopefully I can modify it to get the sounds of the amp I just gave up. Not sure why Fender completely revamped the sounds, but the previous model had beefiness and punch, and so far this does not. All Fender had to do was JUST add the cool new features that the GT now has. Oh well, I have a lot of work to do myself now. 🙁D Neily

It is a great amp. Very good sound and options for the price. It is not heavy which is a big deal to someone who has had back surgery. I gave it a 5 in spite of one big complaint. When you turn it off you hear a loud "POP!" Wow, is that loud is what I thought the first time I heard it. I read about it online and there is a simple fix. Find an old set of ear phones or ear buds that you would use on a cassette player or a Sony Walkman. (Yes, these are ancient electronic relics from the past for you younger people. You might ask your parents if they have a cassette player and borrow the ear plugs.) Just plug that earphone jack into the "PHONES" input BEFORE you turn it off. THEN you only hear a little blip when you turn it off. THEN just pull the jack out of the "PHONES" input before you start it next time.chasmigu
This amp is better than I thought. I've had it for over a year. I use it for practice sessions (classic rock mostly), and I haven't gone over '4 1/2' on the volume (it does give good feedback if you want it). I did upgrade the speaker to a 12" 'Celestion' Vintage 30 and am absolutely happy! This could easily be mic'd for larger venues. Lightweight, powerful enough, and the effects are a good assortment. One small glitch…when using the footswitch, there is a short, instantaneous volume boost when the pedal is pressed for distortion. Could possibly be a problem for recording. After playing acoustic guitar for 15+ years and rarely plugging in, I finally decided to make the plunge and try out an electric. I was advised by a buddy to not buy too big, that 15W-20W would be plenty to practice with. So, I found this little Champion at Sam Ash, and so far it's been great! Lautstärke ist mehr als ausreichend für den Heimgebrauch und kleine private Gigs. Über die Verbindung zum PC lassen sich weitere Presets aufspielen! Das Produkt wird in China hergestellt, das Kunstleder riecht nach Weichmachern und könnte an den Ecken sauberer aufgezogen sein – ist aber Meckern auf hohem Niveau, insgesamt wirkt es dem Preis entsprechend wertig. Interessant ist, dass für Bürger Californiens eine Warnung beiliegt: krebserregend, fruchtbarkeitsschädigend.

This amp is great for beginner to intermediate players like myself who want an amp that can do anything and, judging by how much my friends like it, great for more advanced players as well. The FUSE modeling software lets you quickly and easily creates any sound you want or spend an afternoon playing and experimenting with all the effects. Despite the low price this amp is well-built and very high quality. The on-board controls are a little lacking but this is only a small inconvenience. All in all, this is a great amp. I bought the Fender Mustang I about 4 months ago, after playing guitar for six months. I was looking for an affordable amp that could work for all the different genres I play. (As a beginner I mostly play whatever I can, but Im starting to focus more on hard rock and punk, such as AC/DC, the Clash, and Green Day.) After looking online, this amp seemed to perfectly fit what I wanted. The main selling point was definitely the Fender Fuse software. The first thing that really struck me after I got this amp was the depth and variety offered by the factory presets. The clean settings, mostly modeled after popular Fender amps, such as the 1965 Twin Reverb, bring out all the tone my guitar has to offer and respond to every articulation in my playing. (My guitar, a cheap Stratocaster knock-off, cost me less than this amp, so Im very impressed this amp found enough tone to create such beautiful sounds.) Then, with just the turn of a knob, the amp can switch over to presets such as British 80s, which sounds exactly like the 100-Watt Marshalls AC/DC uses. (Think Highway to Hell or Back in Black.) On the even higher gain settings, such as Metal 2000, my friends who are better guitarists than I get a nice sound for shredding. (All my friends love playing with my amp even though most of them have more expensive amps themselves.) There are even some really weird models, such as Black Hole Vibe which uses a Vibratone effect to create a shimmering, sparkling sound. When I cant find the right sound in any of the 24 presets, the Fender FUSE software always has the solution. Usually, I can find the preset Im looking for in Fenders online database, which seems to have a preset for just about every genre and artist and even for most popular songs. But, when I cant find one online, it never takes long to create a new preset. I know very little about guitar effects, but the layout of FUSE is so simple, quick, and straightforward that it takes no time to wade through the twelve amp models, the dozen or so cabinet models, the adjustable BIAS and SAG (I usually dont bother changing these), the different noise gate levels, and over half dozen models each of delay, reverb, stomp box, and modulation, all of which can be added in any order before or after the pre amp stage and customized using various controls and adjustments. Simply put, FUSE can make any amp/effect sound I can think of. The only issue I have with the Modeling software is that it is nearly impossible to adjust the presets from the amp. All the effects are in two unlabeled banks and accessed by a series of knobs and buttons, with no sort of screen or display to guide you through the process. Even adjusting the gain and equalization is tricky because the physical locations of the knobs dont change when you load a new preset with different settings. (If the gain knob is set to 2 but the preset is saved with a gain setting of 8, when you turn the gain knob up to 4 youre actually turning the gain down.) I think this problem is solved on the G-DEC series and possibly the larger Mustangs, but for the Mustang I this is a problem when Im not near my computer. If not for this difficulty, I would have given this amp 5 stars for features. Ive had this amp for four months now and play through it an hour or two every day and everything still sounds great. I did a car trip with it and accidently dropped some heavy bags it but nothing broke. If it were loud enough (or maybe even just micd), Im sure it would stand up to gigging. As far as sound quality goes, all the models sound almost exactly like the amps theyre pretending to be (unless you had them side by side you wouldnt notice the difference) and no one I know can even tell its digital. The one problem I had was when I first got it the bass response sounded very muddy and unclear but this went away after a few days. I still dont know what caused this, possibly just breaking in a new speaker. Really wish I could give this a 6 out of 5 for value. On all the models, this sounds like a thousand dollar amp and the volume it produces is incredible. It is by far the loudest 20-Watt amp I have ever heard. I mostly practice in my bedroom but I also jam with friends a lot. In my bedroom I rarely have the master volume above 2 and with 2 or 3 other guitars in the room the volume still doesnt get above 5. I like my little Mustang very much. So much, in fact, I find myself playing more. The booklet that comes with the amp is very simple to understand and easy to use. To really appreciate the amp, you have to plug it into a computer! There is a whole new world out there with countless amp and stompbox combinations, as well as getting one started to the realm of recording!I have been playing for 20 plus years, mostly classic and hard rock. I have a 1983 Kramer Pacer and a 1977 Gibson SG that I have been playing through a Marshall JCM 800 50 watt combo amp using a digitech 355RP for effects. I have limited space, and wanted to get a small amp for playing in the house. The amp is small and light, yet feels fairly rugged. I had no problems connecting to the amp with the USB port, and after downloading the Fender Fuse software, I was on my way! I am still learning how to use the program, but some of the presets were very good. I was able to tweek them even better, and I love the sounds I get! I like connecting to my laptop and getting almost endless sound possibilities. I am also exploring recording, which I have never done before.You can't beat the value for the price on this amp! My Digitech cost 3 times as much, and the effects and amp modeling, in my opinion, sound better!

It's beautifully hand-wired in an effort to emulate the original, but using modern production techniques. It's definitely a true classic beauty with a nice subtle vintage look. The Jenson P10R Alnico speaker and its solid pine cabinet sound really great and for 12 watts the amp is amazingly loud. It has all the dreamy tube tremolo and spring reverb that Fenders amps are know for. There are several reissue versions of this amp and they all sound great, but each has a slightly different vibe. This 64 edition is definitely a gig and road worthy little amp that recreates a true classic amp, sounds great and should last a lifetime.
I've been playing guitar since a kid. My Dad used to own a guitar store where he was an amp technician. I'll always remember sneaking into his room when he wasn't home and playing his salmon pink Strat and Twin reverb amp. There was always a magic in them and they really inspired me. Fast forward 30 years and I've grown up just like him. Been playing professionally for a long time through some pretty nice gear but something in me always wanted to revisit that amp, it just had the perfect sounds I played lots of amps before choosing a Marshall 50w plexi as my amp of choice for gigging and it was good, no doubt a about that, played it for almost 15 years straight until one day buying that Twin I'd always so wished I also had. Found I played it far more than the plexi so actually ended up selling the Marshall and just sticking with the 65' reissue! It does everything the Marshall did and more I think. Playing them side by side before making the final decision to sell set my mind at ease because I couldnl get the same sounds from the Twin. Even did a little A/B recording with overdrive and no one could pick which one was which I play mainly classic rock and this amp is everything I'll ever need. Small wattage Amos always sound and feel small to me so was never interested in them, of it's too loud turn it down, the volume is far better than the plexi because that one sat on a hair trigger, really difficult to get a bedroom volume out of. The Twin is quote easy and pot smooth to use. Plexi goes from 0-almost full volume at half way to 1 on the dial. Love itJez
I received the amp yesterday and have only played it (both the vibrato and normal channel) for about half an hour in my living room, but I was so impressed that I wanted to go ahead and write a review, which I almost never do. I've been playing electric guitar almost 50 years and have owned many different amps, almost all Marshall or Fender, including a late 60s or early 70s 100 watt Marshall (no master volume), a mid 70s silver face Twin Reverb and Dual Showman, a 1987X 50 watt Marshall reissue, a '59 Bassman reissue (before the LTD version), a '65 Super Reverb reissue, a Twinolux, and a standard '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue. The only other amp I have currently is a wine red '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue (DRRI) with a P12Q Jensen speaker. The '65 DRRI has been one of my favorites. I like the 6V6 sound and I think it's hard to get a bad sound out of that amp. I really like the clarity of the 64 Custom Deluxe Reverb compared to my '65 DRRI. It is noticeably brighter than my '65 DRRI, but part of that may be because the '64 has a C12Q speaker while my current '65 DRRI has a P12Q speaker. Since reverb and vibrato work on both channels of this '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, the vibrato channel is like having the bright switch on (it reminds me of the way my super reverb sounded with the bright switch on) and the normal channel is like having the bright switch off. I like the way both the reverb and vibrato work and sound on this '64 more than the '65 DRRI. The same guitar (a Strat with '69 custom shop pickups) has noticeably longer sustain when I play it through this '64 compared to my '65 DRRI. Some people have mentioned a possible problem with noise (hiss or hum) from this amp, due to the way the channels are connected together, but I hear virtually no noise at all from this amp, not when it is sitting still (with both normal and vibrato channels turned up to 3), and not when I turn any of the knobs. I wish I had bought this amp in the first place instead of the '65 DRRI.Kenneth

Going back and forth between the LT25 and LT40s to compare identifical presets, both sounded good and similar even with the differences in cabinet and speaker size. A subjective impression is that the LT25 sounded a bit more distant or maybe dispersed. The LT40s sounded a bit more focused. It was a tough call as the LT25 is less expensive but I walked out of there with the LT40S. For desktop placement and low volume practice, the LT40s sounds great and with plenty of low end. I don't need loud volume but this amp can fill a 16'x24' loft with sound. The USB connection to my laptop was initially a no go. After deleting and then reinstalling the application, it has sinced worked great!Wally
I wanted an amp for practicing that gave me a massive range of options for a reasonable amount of money. I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.
This is my first amp and as a beginner guitarist it has everything I need. Initial set up is as easy as pulling it out of the box and plugging it in. The built in presets all sound amazing and are easy to switch between, if you arent super techy and dont want to fiddle with the online fender tone aspect of it all the provided presets are enough to give you just about any tone you could want. It gets pretty loud for its size I dont think Ive cranked it higher than 1/2 way in respect for my neighbors. The headphone jack is also great because it always me to play silently into the night without disturbing those around me. Its super light as well and has a handle on the top of the amp so its easy to move around. It seems pretty durable, I obviously havent gone kicking it off a stage or anything but it should withstand a curious puppy or rambunctious child tripping over it a few times. Overall its a great option that doesnt break the bank if you just need something a little more travel friendly or are a first time player like me. My favorite thing about it is how many sound options it has laid out built in or online because I didn't immediately have to dump $1000 on pedals to get the sound that I wanted. (For reference I've been playing my Ibanez Gio GRX70QA with this amp just attached by a Fender original series 10ft cable)

I'm a Fender fan to the core. I love their electric guitars and amps but their Amps aren't even affordable anymore. They've completely out priced themselves and either you are going to pay for a severely overpriced bare bones amp or a severely overpriced amp with far more electronics than a lot of us care to deal with. This is a great sized combo amp that's easy to use and has a great sound and plenty of power and all at a great price!!! There is no reason Fender couldn't do more of this…combo's that aren't easy to use with plenty of effects and a fair price for blue collar musicians. I used a Fender Princeton Chorus combo this same size mic'd through a sound system for over two decades and it started having issues. This was the closest amp I could get (and afford). The 100 has everything you need in a combo amp and at a fraction of the price of everything else Fender makes. Buy it! You won't be disappointed!Josh
I bought this amp because my gig amp died a cyber twin 2-12s 100 watts that was about 16 years old. I have had many Fender amps they were great. I do country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. I figured 100 watts would put it out there and it does. At performing volume, the distortion is a pure heavy metal on the clean channel. Mine is not much good for high volume for my type of music. I have an old champion 110 75 watt that I will be using It has worked for me when the others were down. Not sure what to do.stev_majo
Sound: With the second channel .First it had the twin reverb and super sonic voicing with a chain loop for pedals I was set on that alone. When it got to the house and realized I didn't need my pedal chain and it sounds amazing even though ill still use my pedals here and there. The bassman, tweeds , Princeton all clean or dirty are amazing to play . again to get those sounds with out the tubes and speakers is amazing.. You get volumes that punch against you that are clear without any nasty whitenoise or unwanted sounds. the dirty settings added with the compression build in make all that possible. Outta all my guitars I enjoy to plug into this amp .My 63 firebird , g400 s.g. and my jaguar Ease of Use: Its real easy for me to get the sounds I need .I'm well aware of all the amps they used for the voicing.For new players it might take a little to understand but with no time you'll understand how to dial it in and add the right effects to the amp models to get those amazing fender amps . Quality: Only had it for a week but as for holding it up and down 3 flights of stairs at the studio in Philadelphia id say the strap is well build . Speakers have not blown but I have not had to dial all the way up amps loud as it is half way . Value: yes it is im surprised its not another $100 more.Wish more companies would do this. First off the blackface style clean channel is just amazing. id say that its a twin or deluxe especially when you dial in the spring reverb only thing missing to call it that are the speakers/tubes but fender has made it very clear they can accumulate that sound with out the tubes . I know the tubes will make a difference but not much to this amp unless you have the trained ear for tubes you can't tell.The 2nd channel with all the voice modeling Id say every setting is 99.7 spot on with the models . I love this amp .After watching a few videos online of the 100 I decided to go with it .My friend has the champion 50 so I have already played through this style of amp. When I saw the 2×12 combo version with a double channel pedal it was set in stone . I love combos more than any kind of amp . I came on zZounds looking for an amp to hit the road to the higher states of the new England area of the states in November and December and a long ride from New Jersey to Chicago and Milwaukee in January . the amazing price for a well build and sounding amp there was no way i wasn't gonna leave the website with out another toy.So after adding to the card I headed over to guitars and ordered the squier 70s classic vibe jaguar .One of my favorite things about this amp is I don't have to change out the speakers to get that sound I want. its easy for me to use because I know how to dial in the right sounds to get the sound of the amps in amp unit.Mike

I have to say that I am very impressed with the 30 included presets and I've not even branched out into the additional ones you can add. The quality of the LT25 is fantastic, not super heavy and all the switches feel robust. I've found the sound can vary depending on the preset you choose though that is to be expected with those that have high gain. I mostly play clean and blues and this amp is fantastic for both of those. If you want a more classic rock sound there is a preset for this which I think needs a bit of tweaking. All in all very impressed and as this is my first Fender amp, I will definitely be getting another in the future.Alex G.

The built in presets all sound amazing and are easy to switch between, if you arent super techy and dont want to fiddle with the online fender tone aspect of it all the provided presets are enough to give you just about any tone you could want. It gets pretty loud for its size I dont think Ive cranked it higher than 1/2 way in respect for my neighbors. The headphone jack is also great because it always me to play silently into the night without disturbing those around me. Its super light as well and has a handle on the top of the amp so its easy to move around. It seems pretty durable, I obviously havent gone kicking it off a stage or anything but it should withstand a curious puppy or rambunctious child tripping over it a few times. Overall its a great option that doesnt break the bank if you just need something a little more travel friendly or are a first time player like me. My favorite thing about it is how many sound options it has laid out built in or online because I didn't immediately have to dump $1000 on pedals to get the sound that I wanted. (For reference I've been playing my Ibanez Gio GRX70QA with this amp just attached by a Fender original series 10ft cable)

Amazing little tube amp! If you're looking at getting your first tube amp, this is a highly recommended starter amp. It sounds great as a studio amp and it gets plenty loud given it's 15W, which makes it suitable for smaller gigs. With the volume turned down, it sounds really clean, but it breaks up pretty nicely around 6-8. It also handles pedals and overdrive pretty well (especially with the fat switch engaged). The Jensen C-12N sounds really nice. The cabinet is particle board, which might be a con for some people, but it's not a deal breaker considering the price. Fender really got it right with the Gen IIIs, which is probably why they're still selling pretty well.Matt T.
I spent six months trying to decide between the tweed Blues Jr., the Blues Jr. IV, the Vox AC15, and the Roland JC40 (a bit of an outlier in this list), and finally decided to go with the tweed after several visits to GC and many side-by-side comparisons. I'm not a serious blues player, nor do I spend much time with classic rock influenced jamming/noodling, but was looking for an amp with a stellar clean sound for playing clean or as a canvas for pedals, decent distortion, and surfy spring reverb. The Vox is classic for a reason, but the clean tone was lacking personality. The built in tremolo is great, but the reverb wasn't heavy enough for me (although many others complain that it is a bit too much for them), and the overdrive tone wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Otherwise, it seemed well constructed and had a great look. The Roland JC40 is a solid state amp, so very quiet in comparison to the others in the list. I only was considering this because it has an incredible sounding chorus and is an otherwise perfect canvas for pedals, but the clean tone was bland and the drive couldn't compare to that of a tube amp. The standard Blues Jr IV sounds boxy and dark in comparison to the tweed, and the reverb tank is much more subtle. Although it has a good Fender clean tone, it is somehow lacking. The tweed is bright, really bright, but that is what I want. The reverb is killer. I imagine very few people will max it out, or even keep it above half-way, but I absolutely love to crank it up and get a super wet classic surf tone. Keeping the volume low and maxing out the master volume retains a good deal of clean chime without breaking too much, yet can begin to breakup if you have a heavy strum. Maxing out the (pre-amp) volume gives you a decent crunch, which only gets better as you turn up the master (Communication Breakdown sound). Yet, this gets LOUD, pushing beyond home use volumes. The magic started as soon as I turned the amp on. This little amp has personality, with the retro look I felt as I had traveled to a time long past. This amplifier sounds great, it's actually loud, and the tones are nice and simple. I pair it with my favorite pedals, and I blast off to a whole other world of pure creativity. If you're wanting a classic sound to fiddle with, I highly recommend this beauty. I even purchased a cover for it since I was worried it would get dirty or our cat would treat it as a scratching post. It not very heavy or big and doesn't consume much electricity and is capable of being loud enough to bother your neighbors, since it's a very simple amp, you'll have to get your pedal collection ready. I hooked my crybaby and fuzz pedals and I swear I connected in some way with Hendrix himself. This little amp isn't just for blues or jazz, crank up the volume and you'll get some loud distortion. My only con would be that I wish it had a built-in spring reverb just like the BJrIV. but I already have 2 different pedals that do the job. I'm selling my fender custom '68 deluxe reverb. i am not the original owner of this amplifier. i have used this amplifier live a handful of times but has mostly resided in my smoke free home. this is a rocksolid amp. great fender cleans and breaks up nicely when you dig in. the only thing that i had changed on this amp were the power tubes as the originals were dying out and the speaker cable replaced. the replacement power tubes are a pair of 6v6 jj power tubes. otherwise this amplifier works great and really really sounds great. also comes with the original foot switch as well.

This amplifier is a classic, with some new twists. It’s got a great tone, breaks up nicely due at a slightly lower level than both the original Deluxe Reveeb and the ‘65 reissue, and with the custom Bassman channel, it has two sounds to choose from: the standard Deluxe tone (but no bright cap, so the sound is thicker and warmer), and the more organic tone of the Bassman sound. Both channels have reverb and tremolo, and that is another big selling point for me. I’ve owned six other Deluxe Reverbs over the years, including original ones, and I think this amplifier is up there with the best Deluxes. A friend of mine has an original 1965 Deluxe Reverb, and we put this one up against the 1965 model, and this came up ahead of the other one. The custom features give it an edge, and the Celestion speaker makes it sound crisp and doesn’t flub out like an old Jensen speaker does. This amp can do it all, takes pedals extremely well, and it’ll help your tone get to a higher level. Like another friend of mine said, “It sounds like the record.” Says it all.
Just can't say enough good things about this amp. From the moment I plugged it in I was in tone heaven. Simply strummed a chord and just found myself listening amazed at what a good amp can do to bring out the tone of a guitar. Everything about the amp is just right. Great tone without having to shatter my eardrums. Simple tone controls that I honestly haven't had to really touch at all. Stellar reverb and very nice tremolo. I have used tremolo pedals and reverb pedals and there is no comparison to the real deal that this amp produces. Both channels are very useful, the custom channel takes pedals better for sure while the vintage channel just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. I for sure plan to hook up an a/b switch so I can use both. Fit and finish were perfect and it came with a really nice dust cover. Only negatives I have found are that turning it off creates a loud pop. I researched and apparently it is normal and many say to turn the volume down and then power it off from the power switch rather than turning the standby off first which does make a difference. My understanding is that the standby is for turning the amp on to warm up for a minute or two, then turn the standby on and standby isn't for turning off. Also standby isn't for taking breaks though that is the urban legend. Only other negative is that I would prefer a pedal that either has lights on it to know if trem and reverb are on or some sort of light on the amp but since I pretty much always have reverb on and can clearly tell when the trem is on not a show stopper but would have been usefulmelodyguy
I brought into the hype and got the 68 deluxe. Not a bad amp, but not worth the money. Besides the noise issues and lack of a mid EQ you can't switch channels without an AB box. It's a nice sounding amp, but the Hot rod deluxe has more channels and headroom and the Blues deluxe is also a better sounding and useful amp. I would suggest doing a side by side comparison before buying.Mike Hickey

This amp will need repair. it turns on and turns up all the way, all the knobs function but it has a harsh sound coming from it. also the reverb does work. i was unable to test the vibrato because i do not have the pedal for it. ( i uploaded a video to show what it's doing). if you're good at working on these, this will be a steal of a deal. also if you've wanted that super reverb sound without having to haul around a 4×10 huge amp, this compact version will do that and some in a much easier to move package (obviously once it's repaired). i am not able to diagnosis it but since it all seems to work, it most likely will be an easy repair but i am not sure. has upgraded warehouse american vintage 4 ohm g10c speakers. those alone go for $89.99 a piece on musicians friend and gc.

I bought this amp to provide a bigger vintage Fender tone, since I play in a band that does a lot of music from the early 60s (surf, R&B, rock-a-billy, country, etc). After looking at various reviews of different Fender amps (Twin, Vibrolux, Deluxe, Bassman, etc) I finally decided that a Super Reverb would be a good choice for what I was looking for. The thing that makes the Super Reverb stand out (tone wise) is that it uses a 4×10 speaker configuration (similar to a Bassman) and it has a tube rectifier (also like the Bassman). But unlike the Bassman it has this gorgeous reverb and tremolo. As compared with a Fender Twin, the Super is a little warmer sounding and a bit more "spongier" due to the tube rectifier. It also breaks up easier than a Twin, making it more like a Deluxe where you want just a big of grit but still plenty of headroom to play loud and clean. These aspects make the Super Reverb an excellent choice for doing rockabilly and country tones as well as Blues. It's the best sounding amp I've ever heard for a Strat or Tele. The Strat comes alive with a tone and responsiveness that put you into Blues heaven. I also use a guitar with TV Jones Filtertrons and it provides a fantastic tone for surf/rockabilly styles. The Reverb on this amp is probably the best spring reverb I've ever heard on a tube amp. It's huge sounding! Set the amp volume on 4, set the reverb to 5 and you have one of the best sounds for classic surf tone that you'll ever need. I'm digging this amp so much. The only down side is the size and weight. But it is manageable. The amp quiets down nicely also. It's one of the best sounding amps for clean finger-style Jazz (get's a fantastic Wes Montgomery tone, … he actually used these amps). So bottom line is that I highly recommend this amp if you play rockabilly, surf, country, classic rock, or blues. I wouldn't reccomend the amp if you play metal or are looking for more of a Marshall tone, however the amp does take pedals nicely.
The 65 SRRI is a very interesting amp that I've had quite a good amount of experience with now, owning a total of 3 of the reissues, 1 from 2001 and 2 from 2017. In my estimation first and foremost, the amp is too loud. If using this for anything but LOUD outdoor/indoor shows, than you're wasting your time and money. The good qualities of this amp are that it handles treble frequencies unlike any way I've ever heard an amp before. Not to be cliche, but it can really only be experienced what "touch-sensitivity" means in this amp. It's a really weird experience because you hear things you don't normally hear, and they're pronounced really articulately. This in my opinion is why Texas Flood sounded the way it did, there's all these harmonics going on that aren't normally produced at low volumes, in a 1×12 cabinet. So now the negatives, this amp is not a jazz amp, it's not a metal or even high-gain amp. It's clean, it's loud, and that's how it works. The 10-inch speakers cut out alot of bottom end that 12 inch speakers give, so you get a very narrow, focused frequency range. I think the speakers themselves and the voicing of the amp in combination give you that sound, but nonetheless the amp doesn't lend itself to anything less than bright, tight, and focused. It doesn't sway from that sound no matter how you EQ it. How I used the amp was in my apartment and it's too loud, too specific of a sound, and is just a real problem unless you need both of the qualities mentioned. If you want loud, clean, and nothing else, this is your amp. I would recommend this product based on it's quality and sound, but only if the person who wanted it needed what it has to offer.Nathan
To preface… I've owned pretty much all the major Fender amps at one point or another. Blues Jrs, Blues Deluxe, Hot Rod Deluxe & Deville, Supersonic, 65 Deluxe Reverb, 65 Princeton, 65 Twin Reverb, 68 custom Princeton Twin & Deluxe and the buck stops here. This is currently the best sounding, most versatile amp that Fender makes, and probably the closest an amp has ever come to being perfect. If you're looking for the world's greatest clean tone/pedal platform/sublime breakup this is it. Period. Save yourself a bunch of money and time and just buy it. One and done. I had a friend recommend me this expensive/heavy beast of an amp years ago and I didn't listen.. turned off by the price and weight. I proceeded to own almost every other Fender but none of them lit me up inside like this one. The reverb is heaven, the tremolo is perfect, it sounds WONDERFUL at 2 on the volume for home practice and WONDERFUL at 3-4 for a gig. Yes it's awkward to carry, yes it's heavy-ish (altho not as much as the twin), but none of that matters because of the sound it produces. It will highlight your playing dynamics, and the true sound of your guitar like no other amp. It will inspire you to play more, it will make you play above your abilities, it gives back. It can handle any kind of music. It sounds great with any guitar you throw at it (although you absolutely must experience it with a strat). It's got tilt back legs which along with the vintage style slot tuners are probably Leo's greatest underappreciated inventions. Don't expect to get this bad boy to break up at home or smaller stage volumes, arm yourself with some good OD pedals. It produces an extremely loud, FULL, 3D sound which spreads across the stage. BONUS- a little known fact… the often neglected normal channel makes a fantastic bass amp. Just try it! I bought a Fender Champion XL 50 for a small light weight amp to bring to local jam sessions. I have to say I am not disappointed. I know there's no comparing solid state to tubesl when it comes to filling up a room with sound but this little amp cranks. It's closest competition is the Boss Katana and those are really nice. I like the ones I've played, but I'm really into that clean Fender sound and this amp has it in spades. You get the full range of cleans, from black or silver faces to tweeds. There's overdrive and high gain models in there too but as I said it's the cleans that sold me. It is a two channel amp, but I'm not sure why anyone would use the first channel as tall the digital goodies are on the second. That being said, the digital reverb in this amp has a bit of a whistle I don't like. Instead I used the chorus on the amp and a Boss Fender Reverb pedal. If your playing on a stage lugging around a forty pound tube amp may be the thing to do, but for sitting around a garage with friends this amp will save your back and please your ears.ADarkBard
I usually don't leave comments, but feel I must let the frustrated AMP user know, yes Jessica there IS a Santa Claus! Was looking for an AMP that was "SIMPLE" – On channel 1 ONLY the volume is usable, I didn't check but probably the Bass & treble too! On Channel 1 the gain control is set and turning the knob does nothing, and none of the FX are accessible! I was so busy checking out Channel 2 that I didn't check to see if Treble & Bass could be adjusted. You have 12 "Voice Settings" and 13 FX Selections. So I checked out all 12 Voice Settings combined with all 13FX settings – add this to checking these out with a single coil Strat and a Jazz/Full Shred Charvel DK24. I feel this is one of the BEST choices I have made in electric guitar choices! The AMP sound CLEAN!!!! I Imagine Channel 1 would be great with an Accoustic as well! Don't have one though! Channel 2 is GREAT and I don't need any more than it has to offer. It is so uncomplicated & stress free! If you are an expert guitar player and can concentrate more on AMP settings, rather than playing, then go for the Katana 50 MKII, or the VOX Cambridge. I was thinking hard on all three. When I got to GC I had pretty much decided on the Fender Champion 50XL. The VOX Cambridge is $150 to $160 more, with only $10 between the Fender & Katana. Since what is on the AMP is all my mind can handle, I decided to go with the Fender 50XL. It has to be on of the simplest AMPS to operate. I do have an Ibanez Tube Screamer, and if I have a need I can look at other pedals down the road. I do plan on getting a Cry Baby! Latter down the road I might get more pedals, but for right now this AMP has all I need. The Celestion Speaker sound GREAT! I couldn't be happier – it is as loud as I need – It's EASY to learn – NONE of the settings sounded muddy, muffled, or shrill. If I was going to get an AMP that needs a lot of downloading, I would have gone with the VOX Cambride. Glad I traded in my old AMP!Karl, M
Great overall amp. The obvious comparison is the Boss Katana 50. I tried both and I found I could dial in a sound I like from the Champion easier than the Katana. The Katana has way more features and the connect-ability. I prefer just plug in and playing which was far easier with the Champion. One of the largest selling points for me was the headphone jack feature for silent playing. The Champion has it right in front of the control panel and it's a 3.5mm jack. The Katana has one but its on the back and it's a 1/4inch jack which would require an adapter to 3.5mm. The location and the fact that it's 1/4in jack gave the Champion the edge. I also preferred that taller design of the Champion. It made it more comfortable to reach and adjust. Some of the cons are the knobs. especially for the "voice" and the "fx-select". A rotary knob would make it far easier to select the presets. Fender does provide a 3 color LED light that changes when you reach the next model or effect. However, a rotary knob that stops at the preset would be a better. Another con is that the reverb effect is combined with chorus and delay. I would much prefer it to be on it's own rather than combined. This is something that the Katana has. Overall the Champion is great for home use and I would recommend it to someone that wants a good amp that is easy to just plug and play. If you want more effects and enjoy experimenting then the Boss Katana would be a better choice.E. Bran

I played a solid state boutique amp for years. It was a 100 watt Pearce amp, with a 2-12'' cabinet. As the great Amos Garrett once said, "The older you get, the smaller your amps get." I decided to go tube and purchased the '60s Fender Princeton and Delux Reverb re-makes. The '65 Delux Reverb remake is simply the best sounding amp I've ever played. I play classic rock, jazz, blues and some world music. It excels, and I mean excels, in every context. Warm, articulate and clean, and the break-up is just so silky. I had a '68 Super Reverb ($400 new back then!) which I sold back in the 1970's. Loved it! Big mistake parting with it (look what their selling for now!). I recently tried a Fender Champion 40. The Champ was a good amp, but just didn't match the tone and warmth of a tube amp. My '65 Deluxe Reverb is ear candy! Although it lacks the "horsepower" of the Super (my gig days are behind me now so I don't need it), it still has enough muscle to rattle your teeth and fill the room. More importantly it was instant smiles and fond memories the minute I fired it up! My Strat, '61 SG and Fender Acoustic (all from AMS!) lit it up! I couldn't be more pleased and impressed. Highly recommend the amp and AMS! Ordered Friday, arrived Sunday, and their payment plans make getting my gear from them simple, easy, affordable and a "no-brainer". My next purchase is already in my cart! High fives to AMS for excellent product lines and outstanding customer service! Just a classic Fender tone. The clarify of the clean tone is outstanding. Can get a great crunch tone as well when you get the volume above about 4. I play a lot of styles and have a lot of amps. I think I still prefer my Marshall JVM for very saturated distorted tones, but have been having a ball trying different overdrive pedals with the amp–which it takes very well. If you are ok using pedals to craft different tones, this can be a very versatile amp for all styles.Robb

I got this to play at gigs and fill in to gaps for 60s and 70s classic rock numbers. It sounded great mic's with just enough stage sound for sustain. I especially liked the foot switch layout to flip between clean and dirty numbers when covering Stones, Bowie, Mott The Hoople, Doobie Bros and stuff, but needed help with a pedal with early metal sounds. Still, found it a very flexible amp overall. About eight months in it got a hissing sound and was useless as a mic'd amp through the PA. It was still under warranty, and – long story short – they repaired the hiss by replacing some circuit components, but after a few weeks it came back. The is the one time I wished I got the replacement warranty. I ended up giving it away to a friend who tinkers in electronics. Do and internet search and you'll see this amp has a long history of hiss and other noise problems that are hard to isolate. That said, I know of some players who liked this amp very much and it never let them down, so I'm not hating on Fender. I like the Fender sound and own a very reliable 65' Twin two Blues Deluxe Issues. If you really must have this amp, I'd recommend getting the full replacement warranty.RJ
Overall: So.. I am very very pleased with the Fender Super Sonic amp head It is quite versatile for almost all genres of music.. but if your looking for metal tones.. look elsewhere.. but other than that.. this amp has it all! I am totally blown away!I have owned many amps throughout my musical journey and I will say that this amp beats them all in regards to tone and responsiveness. You can dial any tone you want easily.. like I said.. it's extremely versatile. I had purchased 2 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 112 Guitar Speaker Cabinet (80 Watts, 1×12") speaker cabinets to use with the Super Sonic head. It was great as it was but then I replaced the 50 watt speakers with 2 Jensen C12 22 watt speakers. OMG!! Unbelievable!! This thing is even more of a total TONE MONSTER than with the 50 watt Celestions. It is loud enough for any club gig..as the 22 watts is plenty. The clean is pristine with that traditional Fender sound and reverb…with the overdrive channel so versatile from light breakup (SRV) to hard 80's Rock tones and classic rock. Even has an effects loop! This amp is a winner!!! I can honestly say this amp is hands down the best amp I have ever owned.. and I've owned many vintage and newer Marshall's.. other Fenders and Mesas over the year. I am totally blown away by this setup. It will never leave my collection. I advise anyone to take a chance and buy one of these great amps.. you won't be sorry at all!!
Just purchased this beautiful blond amp. The clean channel is perfect. Decent gain. Reverb is adequate. Highly recommend purchasing the amp head and the 2X12 cab because you get two Clesetion Vintage 30's vise the single Eminence in the combo. Sound great out of the box even before the tubes are burned in and the speakers broken in. I'll say this again, the clean channel is perfect, Les Paul, Strat, Tele, ES 195 with P90's and effects never sounded better. Gives this bad boy a test drive, you wont be disappointed. If you have never used a tube amp, 22 watts is quite a bit of power compared to solid state, possibly two to three time the power. Yes! this amp can get quite loud. Perfect for small gigs. Highly portable and easy to move and transport.Karl
