Overall: Always wanted a Nashville Tele but several things were stopping me from buying it. I could have made some mods myself but that kind of defeats the purpose of a new guitar. No bridge + neck pickup option was a biggie.No locking tuners. All my guitars have locking tuners. 3 saddles instead of 6 individual. I just prefer the 6 even for a Tele.No noiseless pickups. Now they've also done a couple of things I wasn't necessarily looking for but are nice addition. The rolled fingerboard edges are a really nice touch as well as the belly cut. Again, not expected but very nice additions especially since I can roll my own fingerboards but have never attempted my own belly cut on a Tele and probably wouldn't but they are really nice on my G&L's. For the not so great stuff. The neck had entirely too much relief in it but this was rectified with a truss rod adjustment. I did have to do a fret level, crown and polish. The guitar also had a bit of fret sprout and some sharp ends. I easily fixed these issues but would understand others might have to take it to their local tech for a fret job. After a little work on my part the guitar plays wonderfully. The neck is really comfortable. This is every bit as good a guitar as the US produced Fender's I have played recently. What a absolutely beautiful instrument. I got mine surf green and the online pictures don't do it justice. Guitar arrived flawless and played great out of the box. Action seemed a little higher than I like, but still plays great with the vintage frets to my surprise. Definitely has that telecaster sound with very nice cleans and twang. Also hitting it with a tube screamer or distortion pedal it has a snarl. Playing through a PRRI, 78 SFDR and 67 Vibro Champ. The C shaped neck does seem slightly beefier than other C shapes on my AVRI strats, but I find it just as comfortable and a nice difference. Clay inlays look really good on the rosewood neck also. There is also a tint to the neck that's more than what was on the previous line of AVRI guitars but I think it looks good.Don

Second, the C-shape fretboard design makes for effortless phrasing. Third, this guitar is impressively light (much more so than my strat) and is therefore my go-to guitar for gigging. And I should add the unique color configuration makes this tele stand out from the rest. Apparently "Aged Candle Apple Red" is Fender's own thing. Finally, I should note that I run this guitar through my Marshall DSL40CR. The combination makes for great depth and a fullness that rivals my strat — including on clean tones. I got this guitar on September 14th, 2021, and have had some minor issues with it. When I receive this guitar, it was perfect. Not a single case of fret buzz, the nut was perfect, and it was an all around great guitar. However, after about a month. I realized the tuners were a bit out of wack. I would be a bit flat, and turn the tuning peg over and over and over, only to not tighten the string at all. Then when I finally did one last turn, I'd be sharp by a whole note! Whatever, just replace the tuners. I had been putting that off. The next issue was a bit weird. I play really hard, and over time, the bridge pins were starting to get loose, and eventually a whole screw came out, and I had to take the guitar to a tech. I know this is probably user error, but still. I eventually just decided to turn it into a Jonny Greenwood tele, with lace sensors, a kill switch, and all. And let me tell you, this guitar is perfect now. The neck is (and always was) exactly what I was looking for. It's a bit thinner that my Squier Affinity Strat, but I like a thinner neck. Bottom line, I would recommend this guitar if your okay with getting new tuners. No one else I know has had problem with the bridge, so consider that. (P.S. I forgot to say that the stock pickups are amazing! I almost just kept them, they sound really good)Cory
As attested to by all the reviews on the Capri Orange MX Player Tele, it is a great playing guitar in its original factory form. However, I chose this guitar as the platform for Sweetwater to custom mod. In collusion with friend and Sales Engineer Jeff Jent, we determined the component upgrades of choice for the project. The oem wiring harness was replaced with the Emerson 4way switch Tele wiring harness. The additional switch position allows for the pups to play in series. The oem pups were replaced with Fender Custom Shop Twisted Tele pups. All this modification under the hood was covered up by a Fender black pearloid moto pickguard. The oem string guide was replaced with the Fender American Standard string guide. The oem control plate and knobs were kept as was the oem bridge with box saddles. I prefer the 6 box saddles bridge to the 3 saddles bridge – just a personal choice. Upon receipt of the Tele, from my personal parts box I installed Fender all short post locking tuners and Fender locking strap buttons. Since the MX Player Tele doesn't come with either a case or gig bag, I had the guitar shipped in a new Fender Elite hard case. I provided Jeff with my preferred set-up specs by the numbers and he forwarded those to the guitar technician for the final modified product set-up. Guitar technician Brandon Harper did exemplary work in putting the mod guitar together and tech supervisor Marty Flaley verified the completed modifications "nailed" by Brandon. If you desire modifications on a new guitar, don't be hesitant to turn the Sweetwater guitar technicians loose on your vision project. The techs know their trade. But in full disclosure, modified guitars are non returnable so be sure of the modifications you desire. The standard Sweetwater warranty is in place though. All of these details can be gone over with your Sales Engineer to be certain, just in case I have misspoken the rules of engagement. Thanks to Brandon for his tech expertise and Marty for the oversight (prior to his promotion, Marty was my tech of choice for set-ups on new guitar purchases). Can't say enough about my excellent relationship with my Sales Engineer Jeff Jent. He knows his gear! If you don't have an assigned Sales Engineer, call Sweetwater and ask for Jeff. If you are ever on the Sweetwater campus, ask to personally meet your Sales Engineer and guitar tech. I've had that pleasure and glad to call them friends. OH, and what about the orange Tele? It feels, handles and plays great. It is on par with my Elite and Ultra Teles (except slightly less expensive) as a fine crafted guitar. This is a really great deal. Unless you get lucky on Reverb or whatever you won't find a deal like this anywhere else. And let's face it–you need a Telecaster! It's as basic as a Stratocaster. Even more so. It's so versatile and has a bright (but not too bright) sound. It's HIGHLY customizable. The shape of the neck is very comfortable for both rhythm and lead play. I'd even go so far as to tell you to make this your kids' (or YOUR) first guitar. For one thing, it's a Fender. The build quality is rock solid. It's really designed to be a lifetime instrument. Cons–really just the shade of the neck itself. It's a little pale. But that's just me. Not only that, but later on you can purchase another Fender neck and just replace it. (It's easy.) Don't let this absolute steal for a real Fender Tele get away from you. You'll thank me.

I have twenty Fenders, including seven telecasters, and this is better than all of them. The neck feels like its been played for years, and the shape is perfect. Heavy rolled edges make it a pleasure to play with my thumb over the neck. First guitar I have bought that I had to raise the action slightly on the top two strings. Set up for fast playing or chords straight out of the case. The colour is sparkly brownish, but looks black in most light. Very well made guitar. The pickups are noiseless and are silent even with pedals. They sound like standard pickups, no loss of signal because of the extra windings for the noise cancellation. Sound fine. I must say, the pro 1 series pickups sound better. All in all a lovely instrument, well worth the extra few quid.STEVEN T.
Overall: I have an Ultra Strat in Cobra Blue, an Ultra Jazz Bass in Texas Tea, a Les Paul Standard Gold Top and other guitars. This has the most beautiful finish (Sunburst). Way better than the picture or videos. The tone is amazing. Light weight at 6.2 pounds. Officially my favorite guitar. Add to that they shipped it to me in 25 hours after promising 5 days. Ordered Monday noon and here it is. They had it in a warehouse near Reno and I got it next day. zZounds you ROCK.William
The Fender Ultra Telecaster Texas Tea is an amazing guitar, at first I noticed the D-Shape neck and quickly adapted to it. The neck feels silky smooth, hand glides over frets and is easy to play. The sound from pickups are brutally brilliant, and wit the S1 switch built into the tone knob, sends a slightly different signal, bit more gain with full richness depending on the selector position of course. I went initially seeking for the Jimmy Page Dragon Guitar and walk out of the shop with this Ultra instead, and for the few hundred dollars more, this guitar is totally worth it. The look of it is killer, and so classy – if there is an ultra guitar series in your guitar shop locally, don't hesitate to pick it up and test it out. This guitar is HOT! It's difficult to see in these photos but the colour under certain light angles are different and has small sparkling metallic substances mixed in with the colour. It's a black oily dark grey/brown. The neck has a vintage tone colour and the rosewood neck and skunk stripe just makes this guitar special.Jim T.

I bought this guitar on sale for about $590, which, let's be clear, is an absolute steal. It's a gorgeous instrument, the electronics are great for the price point, and the craftsmanship is superb except for one small thing… the nut was on backwards. I ordered the instrument online and drove about an hour for curbside pickup where I did my best to check for any obvious damage or crafting issues, but the sale tag was tied around the B & E string so I didn't notice the nut issue until I got home and heard a pronounced buzz on the B string. I took it to a local guitar shop and had the nut replaced with a hand-slotted bone nut for about $40, rather than dealing with a return or exchange at the nearest Guitar Center. In truth, I had been planning to replace the nut with a bone nut anyway so I didn't really care that much. Aside from this pretty glaring error, though, the guitar is just a delight. There was no fret sprout, no sharp frets, and no fret buzz, like I've heard some people mention. The neck was perfectly straight and smooth, electronics were sturdy-feeling and sounded awesome (I expected more hum and a thinner sound from stock pickups). The saddles were also incredibly easy to adjust for intonation and the instrument is just generally comfortable to hold/play. Also, this guitar looks absolutely incredible in Surf Pearl. Moral of the story, if you find this guitar on sale for less than $700, the value is pretty hard to beat. Just make sure you give it a thorough look-see before taking it home or that you're prepared to spend ~$50 extra for some additional work. If not for this manufacturing error, this would be a 5-star instrument.Carson C.
I've had this beauty for some weeks now. It's been played through a Fender HRD with Private Jack for speaker, a Marshall DSL40 and Vox AC15. Sounds beautiful in all these mediums, including Tube Screamers, Chorus, and Fuzz pedals. I see no need to change the PUs or Tuners. I only changed the strings to Elixer 9s. Neck feels great. Had one fret that was buzzing slightly, but a minor truss adjustment and minor fret filing solved that little issue. NOT FOR NUTHIN, but guitarists should learn how to perform some mechanical adjustments – it feels good fixing some problems on your own. Although I'll steer clear of electrical issues. Anyway, the guitar is beautiful. I've got the blue. It's almost a work of art. If I needed another Tele I would buy this one again. I bought it while it was on sale, but I would have bought it at regular price anyway. If you're on the fence, hop off and pick up one of these. They're worth the investment. This guitar is built extremely well, and is a great platform for modifications. The body has a tummy cut that makes it really comfortable compared to other telecasters. The tuning stability is great, and never seems to go out of tune. When I received the guitar, the action was set too low and the neck was back bowed. After adjusting the truss rod to .010" of relief and raising the action to 4/64" the guitar played like a dream. The one downfall for this guitar is the stock pickups; I ended up swapping mine out with an f spaced Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck. I love this guitar and will never part with it.JP

I like the Tele style. Not a huge fan of the all black (the other color was orange and that's fine but it doesn't really match anything else I have). Plays great, no issues so far. Slight buzzing but I expected to need to have it set up to my liking anyway and I can only hear it a bit on clean settings. I like the dual humbuckers a lot (as compared to another Tele I returned that was slightly nicer but semi hollow and had single coil or p90s).Tyler
Ok I bought this guitar (black/black affinity HH) AND a butterscotch Squier bullet telecaster (the HH was on sale) on the same day. They both arrived on the same day. Also, my daughter has the standard affinity tele with maple neck. Couple of things I noticed: the rosewood fretboard top was dry as a bone. It also had some nicks here and there. The back of the neck was never treated. "Satin" finish? I don't think so. Raw wood finish more like. I got the lemon oil out and got to work. Much better now. The BIG flaw, however, is the paint flaw on the back of the body. As you may know, these bodies are made of of three pieces of wood. Unfortunately, it is VERY obvious when looking at the back of my guitar where one of these joints meet. A clean line down the back of my guitar when looked at in certain light. Kind of disappointing. I really do have a theory that solid paint guitars get the crappier pieces of wood. I mean, the mfg can just sand it and paint it and you will never know (most of the time). But on natural stains and sunbursts, the real grains of the wood show thru. Anyhow, it does have decent fret work, the action seems fine. The matching headstock does look nice. The black tuners are GARBAGE. The chrome tuners on the Bullet and maple neck Affinity I own are much better. These will be the first thing I swap out. It's amazing how good the overseas factories have gotten. There was almost nothing to nitpick on – the frets might have felt just a tiny bit "gritty" but after a couple hours going up and down the neck picking notes and doing bends, it sorted itself out without any other intervention needed. I have another "typical" telecaster with single coils and I wanted to see what a tele + humbucker would sound like and I was not disappointed. NO NOISE and NO HUM even when I cranked it up well into overdrive. Tuned to drop D and was just AMAZED at the overall tone and sustain. I just kept shaking my head and grinning. It holds up very well to parts that are easily 2 and 3 x the price I paid. Fender MIM, Ibanez RG, etc These may be the best electric guitar value for the money anywhere on MF. Excellent upgrade chassis for when you inevitably swap the pickups out and maybe get locking tuners and a TUSQ nut and at that point you could tour with it. No kidding. It's that good.EVH wannabee

As is for practice it's fine, jamming and other uses maybe. To each their own. I saw this on sale and wanted to add for my collection of Squires for some time. I own a lot of Squires so I am familiar with QC, quality, and projection of the instrument so here it is to the point and brief. The body and neck I think are fantastic and it sounds great unplugged. The QC on mine was tied for worse with another Squire I own. The eyelets? where you put the strings through the back all fell out as I changed each string, tension was only thing holding them in easy fix but brand new guitar here The tuners feel acceptable but I notice I am tuning a lot so I think down the road they'll need changing but I'm keeping them in till they break or wear out. I try to change parts only when necessary. I flat out do not like the pickups. I don't know how to describe them but everyone has their own descriptions and opinions of course. I'm changing the in the future that much I know The rest of the electronics I can't say as I have not opened it up. I'm not even sure if it has the default pots for humbuckers so maybe having them changed could increase the quality of sound. For someone who wants a project and in need of a good neck and body here it is. If you have parts that are spare this could be a good option. For a sale item I say it's worth it as the metallic red is a pretty color and I see no imperfections with the appearance. Sound quality this is at the bottom of my Squire list of models I own. All classic vibes and vintage modified plus one standard. Does not mean it's a bad guitar as a lot may and do like the pickups and guitar as a whole. I have owned about 5 telecasters in my life. This is the one I've been waiting for. It is affordable, (thank you China) and has all the features I was wanting. If you prefer traditional sounding and feeling telecasters, this may not be for you. This has 12" fretboard radius (flatter than traditional) and larger frets. The maple neck and fretboard are natural, or have a very thin satin finish-no thick gloss poly on either. I like the humbucking ceramic pickups. The stock tuners even work well. I was expecting to at least upgrade those. The only modification I made was witch hat tone and volume knobs and swapped out the top hat pickup selector switch tip for the other type of telecaster tip. Not sure what it's called, but it's the smaller of the two. Needed a setup. The neck (truss rod) needed about a quarter turn, lowered the action (string height), and set the intonation. Very satisfied with this purchase. It's a keeper. Fret job was good. No sharp ends and all had a pretty even height. Geez, the nut height was even slotted correctly. This guitar really surprised be in a good way.mv

I already own an Am Std Strat and Tele and a G&L Tele all single coil. I wanted to try a humbucker sound and being loyal to Fender, I purchased this guitar. The high quality feel, looks and sound of this guitar were immediately apparent. The sound has a distinct "bite" which is perfect for certain uses with the typical humbucker "growl". The Pearly Gates can get dirty, clean and somewhere in between depending on my settings. Though not made in America, this guitar is not "cheap", corners were not cut. Rock, blues, jazz all sound great. I use to be an "American Made", single coils only snob, but this purchase changed my opinions.GM
Overall: This guitar is a real surprise. It looks absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. It's comfortable to play and the weight is fine even for long gigs. The neck is very comfortable to play and easy to get to the high notes. You can do most any style of music with it. I use it with Fender, Marshall and Boss Katana Amps and it complements them all like they were made for each other. I definitely recommend this guitar to anyone wanting to have a Tele sound and Les Paul style sound all in one great guitar. You get the best of both worlds without paying a fortune for it. I have a Peavey (Steve)Cropper Classic guitar as my daily driver, now sadly discontinued. This Fender HHFMT is perfect as a replacement. It is very light. It looks great. The pickups are powerful and very smooth. It sounds like a tele, it punches shred like my 1960 model, LP Classic. I always wanted the Fender Robben Ford guitar to get that “Talk To Your Daughter” tone which this guitar delivers on brilliantly. It covers the Stevie Ray Vaughn sound and feel, I also think it could handle a set of 12 gauge strings without dropping tuning as the action and play-ability is excellent right out of the box. I am a 59 year old guitar player, had expensive and cheap gear over the years. I don't think I'm technically great but know how to get a good sound. When looking for a cheap guitar to sit with, my Les Paul and even my '88 Strat often got a bit uncomfortable , I decided to try one of these, you can return them after all, no trouble. What a great little guitar! Obviously GAK probably don't get these out of the box to check them, my box was still stapled shut from the factory, and this is OK at this level but I worry a beginner would be put off if the guitar is poorly set-up. First off the finish is superb, no rough edges to the frets, the colour and gloss on the body was perfect, the unvarnished neck just sits comfortably in the hand, I picked this above the more expensive 'Affinity' as apparently the nut width is a little wider. I didn't need to adjust the neck, I just cut the nut a little lower on the G,B and E strings for comfort. The frets needed a light rubbing with fine wet and dry and that was it, a perfect, light practise tool. I would even gig with this no problem. Each and every one of the tuners work smoothly and firmly. Sound wise, it sounds like a Tele to me and this is always a very subjective and personal thing anyway, I don't like overly powerful pickups (my Les Paul has '57's) I prefer to push the sound with pedals. All I can say is, if not sure, 'Buy one'. I have done nothing but played this to death since I got it 4 days ago, hard on the finger tips as I haven't played regularly for a while. I hope I haven't just got a 'good one' and would like to think any of them would be as good, all the reviews I read suggests so.Customer
Bit of a clickbait title, but I genuinely sold my Gibson SG to downsize buy a cheap guitar + a load of other bits and pieces. Do I regret it? Not in the slightest. Now obviously build quality and sound aren't to the standards of the Gibson, but this cost a fraction of the price and honestly; I've not really lost anything. 15 years ago when I started playing instruments, buying a guitar at this price was a stop gap, and generally had more faults than positives… what has changed in that time!? Squires bottom of the range guitars are infinitely better than any other guitar i have played at the same price point, and this guitar holds up against mid range guitars. So, bad points? There's a couple of minors. The neck has a single rough spot that was fixed in less than 10 seconds with a fine sand down, but that was it in terms of looks and feel. The frets are perfect, the setup out of the box literally needed a quarter of a clockwise screwdriving to sort the intonation on the low E – I've never had so little to setup on any guitar I've ever owned (Maybe I got lucky, but to think this is possible on such a cheap guitar is magical). The only 'issue' I'd say this guitar has is, the pick ups aren't very hot. They're more than reasonable, especially at the price point, but dont expect to fill out an arena with the sound. Important to point out: this guitar costs about the same as a good set of pick ups… so this actually just makes this a great project guitar as well. Lovely smooth matt neck, which i'm a huge fan of, tight neck joint, well finished frets and reasonable tuners that are better than yesteryears tuning pegs. If you're looking for a starter guitar, a project guitar, a guitar for some home studio recording, a back up guitar or something you can chuck about and have a bit of fun with, this is the one.
Earlier this year, I decided I'd like a telecaster style guitar to give me an alternative to my Fender Strat. Originally purchased a G&L tele from a firm who shall remain nameless (hint: they're named after the generic name for the things I'm talking about in this review, times two!). Unboxing said item, I was really underwhelmed – it didn't come in its original G&L packaging for starters – and I ended up sending it back. Forgot about a new guitar for a few months until I came across the Fender Squier Classic Vibe 50s in Butterscotch. Loved the understated look, a proper "classic" look in this particular finish. Read some glowing reviews, looked around for the best price and found it here at DV247. Bit the bullet, and it was delivered without a hitch a few days later (think it's shipped over from Germany). The package weighed a ton! Well packaged by DV247, and inside another sturdy box well packaged by Fender – I should have done an unboxing video! When I finally got to the guitar – a thing of beauty! Albeit understated, as I said before. The most impressive thing? All that way from Indonesia, halfway across the world to Germany, then via courier to my door – the damned thing is still in tune!!! Buy one!

I bought this guitar on sale for about $590, which, let's be clear, is an absolute steal. It's a gorgeous instrument, the electronics are great for the price point, and the craftsmanship is superb except for one small thing… the nut was on backwards. I ordered the instrument online and drove about an hour for curbside pickup where I did my best to check for any obvious damage or crafting issues, but the sale tag was tied around the B & E string so I didn't notice the nut issue until I got home and heard a pronounced buzz on the B string. I took it to a local guitar shop and had the nut replaced with a hand-slotted bone nut for about $40, rather than dealing with a return or exchange at the nearest Guitar Center. In truth, I had been planning to replace the nut with a bone nut anyway so I didn't really care that much. Aside from this pretty glaring error, though, the guitar is just a delight. There was no fret sprout, no sharp frets, and no fret buzz, like I've heard some people mention. The neck was perfectly straight and smooth, electronics were sturdy-feeling and sounded awesome (I expected more hum and a thinner sound from stock pickups). The saddles were also incredibly easy to adjust for intonation and the instrument is just generally comfortable to hold/play. Also, this guitar looks absolutely incredible in Surf Pearl. Moral of the story, if you find this guitar on sale for less than $700, the value is pretty hard to beat. Just make sure you give it a thorough look-see before taking it home or that you're prepared to spend ~$50 extra for some additional work. I've had this beauty for some weeks now. It's been played through a Fender HRD with Private Jack for speaker, a Marshall DSL40 and Vox AC15. Sounds beautiful in all these mediums, including Tube Screamers, Chorus, and Fuzz pedals. I see no need to change the PUs or Tuners. I only changed the strings to Elixer 9s. Neck feels great. Had one fret that was buzzing slightly, but a minor truss adjustment and minor fret filing solved that little issue. NOT FOR NUTHIN, but guitarists should learn how to perform some mechanical adjustments – it feels good fixing some problems on your own. Although I'll steer clear of electrical issues. Anyway, the guitar is beautiful. I've got the blue. It's almost a work of art. If I needed another Tele I would buy this one again. I bought it while it was on sale, but I would have bought it at regular price anyway. If you're on the fence, hop off and pick up one of these. They're worth the investment. This guitar is built extremely well, and is a great platform for modifications. The body has a tummy cut that makes it really comfortable compared to other telecasters. The tuning stability is great, and never seems to go out of tune. When I received the guitar, the action was set too low and the neck was back bowed. After adjusting the truss rod to .010" of relief and raising the action to 4/64" the guitar played like a dream. The one downfall for this guitar is the stock pickups; I ended up swapping mine out with an f spaced Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck. I love this guitar and will never part with it.JP

Overall: This is a great American built Telecaster at its price point. I'm not sure what the other review was downing it so much for. The pick ups are Yoseminee, as advertised, so why the down review on the pick ups? The pick ups are well known for great telecaster sound. The 3 bridge system he called cheap is what was used on the first Telecaster and this model was made to look and sound original. It's NOT a cheap model, it's a good guitar at its price point. I've seen some reviews on it saying it sounds better than the Professional and at it's price point…… how can you complain about the American built Performer. I own a Les Paul classic and this is my second guitar purchased. I wanted to own a Fender as well as a Gibson. I'm happy with it. I now own 2 classic guitars with classic sound.
Love the satin finish and the rosewood fretboard was beautiful once I put enough oil onto it. *really dry. Fretwork was rough at best, my MIMs and Squires were better out of the box. The fret edges caught my hand on both sides plus I could see scratches on the frets 7 – 12, really rough on bends. The action was high, but neck relief was good. I'll change the strings soon and file/roll the fret ends as well as deeply polish the frets. Plays nicely and I can see this becoming one of my top three to pull down from the hanger and play. While the setup was sub-par, the electronics were well done – great pups and pots.Aarron
I have the Honeyburst telecaster, The feel of the set up right out of the box is great!! The neck pickup, nice and warm the bridge is not too hot but hot enough to get the growl when in overdrive. This guitar needs no pickup changes. The middle position still gives the tele sweetness of the twang. The neck feels awesome, It comes with a fender gig bag but I would suggest getting a hSC for the baby shes definitely a keeper. Great guitar!!!spider59504

Bought this new a few months ago and out of all my guitars les paul strat etc it is my favourite every time. It puts american made models to shame. Build quality is superb as is playability and tone. Sound: The sound is great, what you'd expect from Fender humbuckers or even single coils. No complaints here. Features: All great components as far as I can see. It's beautiful, comfortable, practical, and it kills! Fender did a good job assembling this set of components. Its individually adjustable saddles are a big plus, and the coil-tap feature is fantastic! Ease of Use: Whether straight into an amp or through a pedalboard, this guitar is a good-sounding guitar. No real learning curve (unless you've never played before), and it is supremely playable. Quality: Fit and finish were impeccable, and like most Teles, it's built like a tank. I expect it to way outlast me. Value: Oh yeah, well worth the price. zZounds makes buying easy, with their zero-interest installment plans. With my income, it's hard to plop down a full-pop purchese price. This guitar is priced competitively with other companies' prices. Manufacturer Support: zZounds is a great outfit, very accommdating and helpful. I've never dealt with Fender directly, except to register products, even though I have a bunch of their guitars and basses. But I've heard that they're easy to work with, too. The Wow Factor: It just looks good! It sounds awesome. Overall: This thing is amazing! It sounds and plays fantastic. The only set-up I had to do was to take some of the bow out of the neck. The action, even at the nut, and the intonation were perfect right out of the box. What really pleasantly surprised me was that the tone knob is push-pull. When you pull it up, it coil-taps the pickups, and it's now a single-coil Tele. Wow!! I recommend this guitar to anyone in the market for a fantastic deal.David
Always wanted a telecaster but tend to like the sound of humbuckers more so this was a win win. Overall I'm really pleased with this guitar. The tidepool blue is an amazing looking color ( has a very slight sparkle/flake when you look at it closely ) but it's a very unique kind of blue you don't see on a lot of guitars. The only real complains I have on it are out of the box, it needed some basic setup done to it. Action wasn't bad but the intonation was pretty off but it's not a huge deal because I usually always take it to my shop to have them set it up when I get a new guitar anyways. The other issue was the pickups to me sound a little muddy but some of it might also be what I have my board setup for currently based off my other guitar. And also the others were two pick guard screws I noticed were already stripped when I went to take the pick guard off to change it. Not a huge deal but you think they'd have a little better quality control from the factory. Not really enough for me to take off a star thoughDoyle

I am a full time musician. Needed a new axe for my studio setup as my old one needed a re-fret and just wasn't worth it. A great guitar but with caveats it was poorly setup and frets where very rough. The choice of finishes in this model was really poor I refinished axe while I had it apart for set. I would give it 5 stars if not for this. I understand it QC can be a bit spotty on MIM fenders all said it was well made just lacking in the fine spit and polish that make a good guitar great. Nothing that should stop anyone from buying one. Also was hesitant to buy the model with humbuckers but they are great coil tap is fine the single coil sound is passable though maybe not for single coil snobs though most snobs. This model had the belly cut very important to me as I use the guitar 4-5 hours a day in a sitting position at my writing station so comfort is must. Lastly anyone using a hex pickup this Tele model is the easiest to setup which was the deal clincher for me.Red
I'm guessing they don't predrill holes on the body for the screws, because the silver plate for the controls has a long crack extending from the screw which holds it on. It split the body and wraps around the bottom. On the bottom, there is a long and narrow divot, which still is fully finished. I doubt that much force could've been applied after the fact and still keep the finish. The black plastic piece around the bridge pickup bows outward as if the screws holding it down were put too close together. I'm guessing that will break over time. Some of the screws are put in crooked. There are additional scratches on the body and the guitar is very dirty. There was something pasted on a couple areas that scraped off and the neck had some sort of soot that covers my hands. It will require some sort of cleaner to remove. I understand this is not their top of the line, but it's also not a cheap squire either and there are additional quality issues that I don't mention because they are what I would accept from a guitar in this range. With a better specimen, I would probably give it a 5 star review. I can't say anything about tone as of now, because I haven't tried it yet. I'm still cleaning it and the strings it came with were worn through. I tried emailing GC but they never responded. I tried calling them for 3 days and using online chat, but I wait on hold for 30 mins and give up. I can't go to my local store because of quarantine, so I guess I'm stuck with this thing. Overall: I have always wanted a Tele. Like, clamored for one as soon as I could afford it. And when this one arrived at my doorstep 2 days after ordering the burst color (thanks zZounds!!), I was beside myself! Looks great, feels great (although wish it had the body curve on the back), great action. Sorely needed a setup out of the box. After 3 set-ups, new strings, and several Sunday sets, I can NOT for the life of me get this thing to stay in tune. I tune it perfectly and find myself needing to tune again basically mid song. And the intonation is never quite right despite many adjustments. Pretty disappointing considering it's brand new and shouldn't need any nut work done.Ahh, next, the pickups. They are… OK. Not "forward" enough for me, but I am totally partial to humbuckers. I also noticed that the sustain is meh. Notes die out quickly and I'm left wanting more, much much more.This review is more dismal than not. Since purchasing a semi-hollobody, this one has become a wall ornament. But only because of the tuning thing. The pickup and sustain issue I can deal with because I do love that classic Tele sound. But 600 bucks for a basically un-tuneable guitar… I'm a tad disappointed.Taylor
