This item will be a present, is I haven't had a good chance to play with it yet. However, I'm really impressed by what I've seen/heard so far. It's great into the front of my amp (AC15) just for regular EQ type purposes and really allows you to sculpt various sounds with different guitars. It's also really good as a boost, just fattening single coils up nicely if you like that sort of thing. I'm addressing the review that said this pedal was noisy. OK, I can appreciate where he is coming from but here's the thing: the pedal is not noisy. I would suggest you do some work on your power supply? First off, do not (parallel) daisy chain your EFX pedals. This is no doubt what the problem is with this person's rig. You may not understand this or believe this but your 9V system can have a ground loop. Have you ever considered this before? I doubt many of you have. Here's the test for power supply noise: remove your single pedal from your chain and attach a single external 9V source. Plug in and turn on the EFX – does it produce self-noise? Or is it now MORE quieter than it was while on your pedal board? You have discovered your problem. Your 9V supply in your pedal board should be equally quiet. There are solutions out there but typically a power supply that can deliver isolated 9Vs to your pedals is the easy route. Spend some money here, talk to experts if you can find them.Rooster
i will try to add some info of value that i think is missing from the other reviews. 1st, in response to another reviewers complaint, my experience was this pedal is very quiet in my rigs. next i will mention a con. this MAY be a limitation of graphic EQ's period but as soon as you turn this pedal on, even with none of the levers moved, your tone changes. not the tiniest imperceptible amount either, it is something you will notice. as i said this MAY just be a limitation of graphic EQ pedals to begin with, i haven't fully put enough different GEQ pedals through their paces to know for sure. so don't think oh my tone is really good it just needs a tiny bit of sub-bass scooped out and it'll sound perfect. this pedal is not going to work like that. if you are using it at all, you are going to leave it on all the time. now with that said …. i find that the pedal IS very good as sculpting the sound, like others have mentioned. you may not get exactly what you had prior to turning the pedal on, but once you do start moving the levers around it is very easy to get your guitar/amp sounding very very good. you CAN cut the sub-bass out, but just realize that you are going to have to change other things too. you are doing a total tonal re-sculpt. the end result will sound very good and may give you pretty much the sound you desire but don't expect that you can just pull out (or add) a little gain from 1 band and your rig will sound exactly as it did before plus/minus the effect of that 1 band. there is 1 other con i think people need to know that hasn't been mentioned by other reviewers. i was a bit disappointed with the volume curve of the faders. even at the smallest possible setting (plus or minus of zero) the gain bump/cut is pretty significant. that was a real bummer for me. i want an EQ that is subtle near the 0 mark and the gain added/subtracted gets more and more significant the further up/down the fader you go. imho an EQ is more useful that way.nicky noodler

Love my SG but it's a short jump from dark to muddy and this eq makes all the difference. The volume and gain controls allow you to get the exact tone/volume/presence/sound you want. Is the only pedal i use for rhythm and it stays on all the time. I'd never used an eq before and while you probably will spend some time getting it just right it's pretty simple once you see how it works. The settings in the instruction manual are fine but i think the best thing to do is set everything at zero and adjust from there. Left side is lows, right side is highs and you just bring out whatever is lacking in your tone now. You won't regret getting one of these.JP
This pedal is badass!! It works really well in the effects loop of my Blackstar HT-5RS. Putting it in the effects loop helps dramatically with the unwanted noise this pedal can produce. If you use it in the front of your amp, you will probably have to use a noise suppressor at high gain/volume levels. It really adds a new dimension to your guitar sound, though. If you have a warm sounding amp, this pedal can add a lot of high end to your sound. Also, used in conjunction with a British, high-gain amp, you can nail the Randy Rhoads sound. Built very solid, this pedal really does do what it says it will do. I like the fact that besides the 10 bands it also has a Volume slider and a Gain slider. This makes this one very versatile pedal. Easy to operate, Simple to understand, Very quiet signal processing and it comes with it's own power supply rather than sold separately. I can see why they hold their resale value on ebay. I put mine on top of the amp and run it through one of my loops so it is much more convenient than having it on the pedal board. But, either way works just fine. It's great for room shaping when moving from one venue to another and tweaks my guitar tone perfectly every time. Very little movement on the sliders produce quite a bit of adjustment so there is always plenty of headroom in all frequencies. Would buy it again. Would recommend it highly. You will be happy with it. I also like the way the sliders light up making it much easier to use in a dark environment. Plus the lights on the frequency sliders switch on and off with the foot switch so you can tell if it's on or not. After long research and a round of tips from pros, I decided an EQ could help me refining the tones and finding the "sweet spot" for my rig. This unit has several advantages over the alternatives, mostly the number of frequency sliders and the 4 slot memory (+ the manual, which allows for 5 EQ setups to be reached quickly). It responds perfectly, to every slight change. The LCD screen shows the curve interactively, which is very helpful for the configuration. The main use I will initially have for it includes: tweaking the sound of humbuckers (to single coilish) an P90s. To play around, basically… As a booster, with a memory patch adjusted for that purpose. Lastly, it is not exclusive for guitar, as the the spectrum includes lower and higher cuts. So it is a good tool for recording other instruments as bass or piano, and I reckon It could be handy to experiment with voice recording as well.

I bought this used through Guitar Center to boost the output of my Eastman 815 acoustic-electric mandolin, which has an internal microphone but was too quiet. I'm a hobbyist but play in worship settings. I was able to EQ the output to sound like the natural mandolin tone and to boost the volume which was important to me, since, on occasion, I play outdoors or in a large church sanctuary. The tuner is a great asset, making clip-on tuners unnecessary. The tone boost gives the mandolin even more volume for those times when you want to play a solo. The unit runs on a 9V battery or a 9v DC adapter. I happened to own already own a 9v DC adapter, and it gave the unit much more power than the battery, which was great. I definitely recommend getting a 9v DC adapter. This was a good buy!Jamie
From the very first moment I plugged in both my Martin D42 guitar with it's Fishman pickup and my five string Stelling Banjo with the KAVANJO pickup system to their respective LR baggs Venue DI preamp's a smile lit up on my face. The sound, the controlled sound, the natural sound that came out of each device was absolutely wonderful. I would have to say that my banjo sounded incredibly smooth… And the guitar tone was the best I've ever gotten from my Martin D 42. It was a pleasure to listen as a strummed or finger picked each instrument. And you could tell that the audience was listening intently… There was no distortion whatsoever. And I've really just started using the device, and haven't fully dialed in the potential. I'd also read a lot about the tuner not being accurate… Well I have two Petersen tuners… Clamp-ons … one on each instrument and I double checked it with the baggs built-in tuner… And so far it has been spot on. The boost switch is fantastic and the mute couldn't be better. I am completely satisfied and delighted that I purchased one LR Baggs Venue DI for each instrument.
I've got 2 LR Baggs Para DI's and have been wanting to try out the Venue DI. I have a Taylor 814 V Deluxe, Taylor 614 and a Taylor 354. I always bring at least one of the 6 strings and the 12 string when I play. All 3 guitars have different tonal qualities, so I wanted separate DI's with EQing abilities for each. The Paras do very well, but I found the Venue to be quicker to dial in a great acoustic tone and it sounds more transparent to me. I love the boost function too!!! Very well built! Like others who have reviewed, the tuner is slow to respond at times and phantom power would have been nice – otherwise this is a 5-plus stars.

Habe das Pedal zu Hause probiert, gibt das Signal unverfälscht weiter. Habe einen Auftritt damit gespielt, und der Tontechniker konnte das Gitarrensignal problemlos und in guter Qualität verstärken. Gut ist, dass zwei Ausgänge vorhanden sind. Also neben XLR für PA/Monitor kann man noch einen Verstärker betreiben, wenn nötig. EQ ist eher dezent, reicht aber völlig aus, um das Signal deutlich zu färben.

I’ve been searching for multi effects/DI pedal to compliment my Weissenborn style acoustic guitar. My sound hole passive pickup does a great job except for a somewhat weak output. Enter The Zoom AC-3 to the rescue. Now I have output headroom to spare. Everything about it is top shelf. Extremely flexible effects (kudos to ZOOM for using knobs rather than menu driven). I needed a DI box that could also boost the signal to the PA for solos and the Zoom does that well; the stage tuner is helpful, though I still use headstock tuners from habit and have accidentally muted my guitar stepping on the tuner switch when I wanted the boost switch. Providing presets for guitar body style should be useful, but once an effect is chosen I'll likely stick with it and use the equalizer knobs instead. Rarely use reverb playing with other instruments through the PA. The anti-feedback function and lift button haven't been needed though that was a big problem with my old DI box. Not using batteries, but two AA ones probably wouldn't last long.Mike
Makes a 200 dollar guitar sound like a 1000 dollar guitar. Makes a 1000 dollar guitar sound like a 2000 dollar guitar and so forth. The tape delay and tremolo sound so lush and amazing. The other effects sound amazing too, but I love the tape delay. What is amazing about this pedal is that it gets your little nuances and fixes them by smoothing them over. I tried several other FX and EQ pedals and was disappointed with the sound quality and/or ease of use. I play strictly acoustic and the Fishman ToneDEQ provided the sound quality I was looking for. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. Nice selection of reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and delay. Easy to dial in the right levels, rates, etc. Same for EQ – 3 sweepable knobs for low, mid and high. My only complaint is that Fishman doesn't include a 9v AC adapter with your purchase. You can also power the unit with a 9v battery but you'll go through batteries in 5-7 hrs. You're better off buying the adapter. Overall, I'm very happy with the ToneDEQ!BillG
I played my first gig last weekend before last with the ToneDEQ. I got compliments on how it sounded from my partner. The compression helps overall but really makes boosted lead lines pop through the mix. A bit of reverb and a tiny amount of chorus fatten the tone nicely. I am using a Mi-Si Trio (Baggs Element) piezo UST and I think it really works well in this application. I've got a tuner and volume control in the guitar so I don't consider a mute or tuner an important feature (and if I did I've yet to find a multipurpose pedal that matches a Polytune pedal or my D'Addario soundhole tuner). Check out the attached pictures as I marked my settings with Mark-It dots. It is also fairly light weight unlike the Fishman Aura pedals. The top panel is metal but the back and sides are plastic. It seems plenty tough but also light enough to safely go in a guitar gig bag pocket. The battery life or the battery light don't work to spec. When the battery light came on (1 hour to go) I removed the battery and later tested it with ZTS pulse load digital battery tester which reported 40% battery life remaining. If 100% of an alkaline battery is 12 hours, then 40% should still be nearly 5 hours. I suppose best to use an external power supply. It takes the standard negative tip 9v supply. I'm not much of a fan of notch filters (for me either ineffective or not transparent) or sweepable mid tone control. That might matter to others. The bass cut and phase inversion are the important feedback controls in my experience. I think a ToneDEQ and a powered PA speaker make a much better acoustic guitar amp than any dedicated acoustic amp I've tried.Jon Fields
I wrote a review on this a year ago, at that time I was mainly using it with my Taylor 314ce, it is outstanding and now I've found additional uses. I use it with a Danelectro 12 string electric and though it doesn't make it sound like a Ric, it does do a great job with the 12 strings sounds. I recently picked up an electric violin and it works excellently there too. Overall quality is fine, no issues despite being dropped on the floor a few times (my bad), the battery life could be better but is acceptable as I mostly use the power adaptor. I use it with the output maxed on my high gain channels of a double rectifier 100w head and have got a better result than any Tube Screamer pedal I have tried so far. I have always bought name brand guitar effects but those have become prohibitively expensive. I took a chance on this little number and I don't regret it at all. It doesn't have a power supply so be sure to get one that is compatible in polarity. I hooked it into my effects loop and took off. I have very particular tones that I'm looking for and with 10 bands of EQ I found that I could easily dial it right in.The construction is solid enough and the slides perform well. My Fender Ultimate Chorus is very sensitive volume- wise, and it wasn't long before I was using the gain on the EQ. After a few minutes, I wondered how I'd gotten by without it! You can fatten up your sound just the way you want it. Or take a little unwanted treble out. I just got it today, so I can't speak to the Caline's longevity, but right away it made finding the desired tone easy peasy. I would definitely buy it again as I've very quickly become dependent on its versatility.amazocon
The box has abilities, as do one thousand other pedals. To be more decisive about how the product is put together means a lot to someone that works in the industry. To make the product big enough to include all components, such as the battery closet, is only looking out for your customers that purchase your product. There could have been a isolated closet add to the device, vented on the cover for heating possibilities for the battery. I've had the Liverpool character pedal for a long time. It sounds like a Vox. I've had both versions of the RK5 Fly Rig (still have and gig v2) and the dUg DP3X (gig this one, too). I hadn't heard about this until I got my latest issue of Guitar Player magazine in the mail and these guys are al over the outside back cover ad. I ordered it immediately through Sweetwater. It sounds great! I have the UAFX Ruby, a Quilter Superblock US (shoulda been the UK, I know) and a Mooer GE 300 Lite: all trying to solve the "silent stage" conundrum when I can't bring out my Top Hat or Dr Z or Fender TRRI. But this is the pedal I was waiting YEARS for: XLR and 1/4" outputs for FOH and monitor amp, respectively. Voxy Voxness that's Voxtastic for the convenient, silent stage live application. While the other products are fine in their own capacities (and, to be fair, the Ruby sounds slightly better though digitally noisy in live situations), I would've saved about a thousand bucks had I known this existed. But, um, no built-in tuner. That'll cost ya a star, particularly since the RK5 and the dUg have built-in tuners. (Really, Tech 21?) Totally a keeper!!
I bought this because I'm a huge fan of the RK5 Fly Rig, but I wanted something that was programmable and MIDI controllable, to integrate with my pedalboard. The PSA2 does all that perfectly but it's the sounds that have blown me away. It sounds incredible. Every Marshall tone is achievable and authentic, so are Fender and Mesa tones, and anything in between. And it really responds well to picking dynamics, and when you back off the volume on the guitar it cleans up perfectly. And…it just feels and sounds better than digital – my HX Stomp is now for effects only. I couldn't be happier, it's exactly what I needed. Thoroughly recommended!rossmacrae777

Look, if you REALLY have to have a Martin D-45 sound, guess what Of course this pedal will never do that. BUT, if you need something that sounds somewhat acoustic-like in a band mix and don't want to carry an extra (not to mention fragile) instrument, then this will work just fine. Not authentic, not great, not amazingly life-like, just FINE. With realistic expectations this pedal is as good as any for what it intends to do. I use this in an A/B/Y rig. Tha A side goes to my regular pedalboard and amps. The B side goes to this pedal and a volume pedal direct to FOH via a direct box. I get the "acoustic" sound fed back to me through my monitor (or ears if that applies occasionally). I can have straight electric, straight "acoustic", or use the Y option to blend the two to my liking. Works for me, YMMV. I play "for-hire" mostly and my clients love the versatility of my setup. Also, DO NOT run this pedal through a tube amp if you want the best results. It will definitely work best either run straight to FOH or through a clean solid-state amp. Overall: Here's it in a nutshell, if you have a song or two to play onstage it can work but won't be a great sound. Positive features are response time doesn't lag, and it does have a reverb feature. If you like the sound and feel of an acoustic you won't like this. To say you wouldn't bring an acoustic to a gig for fear of it being damaged is kind of lame, maybe keep the expensive acoustic home but take the cheap one, you will get a better sound. I plugged a strat into a clean amps and it sounded better.
Have read many reviews both positive and negative about this pedal. The negatives were not specific but didn't hear their guitar and amp give an acoustic sound with this pedal. The positives were sometimes vague but they liked it. Then some went on to say they liked it not through a tube amp but through an acoustic amp or a PA system. I HOOKED IT up through a very small practice amp set clean and used the emulation out into a mixer then into a low power full range PA type system. Sounded excellent with neck single coil. Didn't try it with the middle single coil nor the bridge humbucker. I am very happy to have this pedal.Kenmorek

I love this thing! Pairs well with my Taylor 110. The preamp is responsive, the boost is a nice touch, and the chorus and reverb are lush. Tap tempo delay is great. I play mandolin and guitar in the church band and I have long since found that going direct through the P.A. system is the most efficient and quickest way to get a fidelity acoustic tone into the mix. The great thing about the Trace Elliot is that it is a quality direct box with XLR outputs with quality effects. I love the simplicity of the controls which allows me to individually dial in the effects such as reverb, delay, chorus, and, since I often take solos, a dedicated boost stomp for the extra punch I need for taking the lead with distinction. The Boss EQ 200 sounds pristine and clear and makes my nylon string guitars sound fantastic. It’s like I’m in the studio with clarity, definition and zero peso quack. Both with my LR Baggs equipped guitars as well as Fishman they sound excellent. The EQ is very easy to use. Presets are very easy to set and it sits perfectly size wise next to my boss RV 500 Reverb. I’ve been a boss fan for a long time. In my signal chain I’m using my wireless to the EQ 200 to the RV 500 Reverb and then a Boss RC 300 Loop Station. I read countless reviews on all the acoustic preamps, watched videos, read specs. Each unit had its share of lovers and haters. Every time I thought I had made up my mind and was ready to buy I would see comments contradicting the previous accolades. Knowing that sound is subjective I opted to give this unit a try. It is relatively new to the market and Boss products have been very reliable for me. I didn't need a lot of bells and whistles. I wanted something to boost the signal of the piezo pickup on my violin, give some ability to tweak the tone and give some acoustic depth. This unit doe exactly what I needed. I have not tried it for guitar so I can't comment there. I'm satisfied….YMMV.JT
I needed a preamp for my Dean Markley ProMag Plus single coil sound hole pickup, so that I could take that signal to mixer and PA system. I prefer the sound of magnetic pickups in acoustic guitars, and I use this in a Martin HD-28 and also a Gibson Songwriter Deluxe, but the output from the pickup needs a preamp to match the input impedance on a mixer board. This is a perfect solution, small, portable, no nonsense, and sounds terrific with resonance (reverb) set at noon and ambience set at about 2:00-3:00. Surprisingly quiet also.Jay Ira
It certainly does deliver the acoustic quality of my guitar via my Roland CUBE EX amp. Haven’t had feedback issues playing the rig at home so it hasn’t been necessary to dial up the feedback knob as yet , but reasonably confident it will work OK should such issues occur when gigging. Bought because of its ease of use (less to go wrong at a gig) and it’s 6 hour battery life also making it viable for busking. Very pleased with it and more than aware that there will be a vast range of tweaks to achieve a really comprehensive range of sound effects when used in conjunction with the amp’s different guitar effect settings.Peter H.

People think you can plug in a pedal and it's going to instantly change a tone but from my experience most never work like that. This is the perfect size eq pedal for my application. I recently purchased a small Bad Cat cougar 5-watt tube amp with 3- very basic controls: volume-master-tone which works fine…but it has a Nice effects loop….so I put this very road worthy Mxr m109 6- band eq in the loop. Wow…what a upgrade. This really let's me find the sweet spots with my single coil and bucker equipped guitars….great job mxr….also gets the Celestion vintage 30 growling easier at friendly levels. Perfect. For a 6- band eq pedal I was very happy with the results for the slider frequencies… Built solid. A keeper.jammin_joemusic

Designed specifically for use with dobros and other resonator guitars, the jerry douglas signature series aura imaging pedal from fishman is intended to eliminate the need to mic your instrument by generating an emulated sound of your instrument while miked at various distances using one of sixteen different capsules. in this manner, the pedal circumvents the often-cumbersome process of placing a microphone on your instrument, as well as the restriction of your on-stage movement, and it offers up a much more natural tone than if you were to plug directly into the house pa. the pedal includes an input trim pot to optimize the input level for your pickup, as well as volume and blend control knobs. the blend knob allows you to dial your pickup's natural sound into the signal, mixing it with the timbre provided by the pedal. the real focal point of this stompbox is its image selector, which allows you to choose among sixteen different emulations of various microphone configurations. u87s, u67s, royer 121s, and more are represented here, as are settings intended for use with resonators which have been drop-tuned to more bluesy keys. a clip/battery indicator sits on the top left of the pedal, while a phase switch on the top right helps to eliminate feedback on stage. the footswitch is used to bypass the aura effect or can be set up to toggle between the effect and a muted output. the aura acoustic imaging pedal itself provides 24-bit a/d/a and 32-bit internal processing to achieve a pristine digital signal path. each microphone setting has been tested and approved by legendary guitarist jerry douglas, as well as studio engineer bil vorndick and luthier paul beard, who specializes in building resonator-style instruments. the settings captured herein have been created with the aid of class-a discreet mic preamps and all the microphones listed below in the features section.

The Fishman Jerry Douglas Signature Aura Effects Pedal give me exactly the sound I've been looking for with my resonator. I have a Quarterman Cone and Fishman Nashville Series pickups in my Rogue resonator and play it through this pedal into a Hartke AC150 acoustic guitar amp. Setting the pedal on effect #11 (Neumann FET 47 mike at 12 inches) with the blend control at about the 3 o'clock position gives me that classic resonator sound that I love.Unlike some effects pedals you are not getting distortions, choruses, flanges, etc. here. You are getting specific mikes and miking distances. For the price of this pedal you can sound like you are playing through some very expensive mikes and not be tethered to one square foot of stage space. I was disappointed in the sound this unit provided. Sounded good at home but was flat live. It pretty much cut my sound probably a quarter of what was normal to me. Had to turn it up which then caused feedback even with the double notch filter on. Had to tweak on the fly. I actually had to put a feedback killer in the soundhole of my Taylor to kill the feedback. This was all during my gig! Not cool. This box would probably be best for home studio stuff but I will Not gig with this unit ever again. P.s I love Boss. I own 2 Katanas and various pedals. I just don't love the Ad10.Frank G

I have been waiting for some time for the AD-10 to be available. I like the Boss AD-2 as well. But the AD-10 makes it so I don't need anything else. I can run AC or 6AA batteries for the power. Then adjustable gain in on 1 or 2 channels even 1&2 at the same time. Digital EQ on both channels. Adjustable Low Cut 10-990Hz , Mid adjustable 200Hz-5.0kHz, Treble, Presence, and Level of eq. Anti-Feedback Reduction, 2 notch switches. 3 Types of Acoustic Resonance (Think Aura) kind of. To me it sounds more woody and natural. You can adjust the tonal quality as well. It's a fully adjustable blend with the pickup. Off, Soft or Hard Compression, 3 Delay effects, 3 Chorus effects, 3 Ambiance/Reverb effects, Boost, 90sec Looper, extra Effects Loop, Tuner, 10 memory Preset Banks. Option for volume pedal or switches. Smaller than a iPad. Just played with the mic and pickup on using a Bose Compact 3 ft away at 97bd w no feedback. Fits perfectly in my SKB iSeries case. I Gig with two nylon string guitars a Andy Culpepper Spruce Blanca Flamenco with a LR Baggs Dual Source Pickup (Element and Mic) I run the Element into input 1 and Mic into 2. I mix the signals at 60%pu and 40mic. I do eq each separately. My other guitar is a Cordoba GK Studio Limited with the Fishman Presus Blend pickup. It's two sources a undersadle and mic blend. The AD-10 sounds great with the GKSL . For most gigs I see myself bringing the Guitar, Smal Case with Boss AD-10, and Bose L1s or Compact, with a few cables. For gigs with no AC I'll use same guitars, Boss AD-10 with batteries and a Behringer Europort MPA40BT. Good for outdoor wedding ceremonies or smaller gigs 75-150 people. The Boss AD-10 makes my life very easy. I will try using two Line 6G-30 for wireless functionality soon.Victor
The constant striving to make even a really great acoustic guitar sound as good on stage (especially through other people's PA systems) as it does in a studio with a Neumann mic is probably like looking for a musical unicorn. I've tried LOTS of Acoustic pedals and amps, and the AD-10 is likely to get closest. It sounds fine through my PA, a Fender Deluxe Reverb, a Boss Katana 100 and even a little Bose S1 Pro. The upside is lots of functions (meaning you can tweak endlessly); the downside is lots of functions (meaning that it has lots of menu items to get your head around). Other pluses of course: two inputs with separate levels and eq; usable effects, tuner, reverb, comp and boost; noise reduction (gets rid of slight whine when using Boss WL-50 wireless); will run off a powerbank; acoustic resonance (still not a Neumann in a studio but useful) and especially 10 memories: so I already have presets to suit a Taylor, a Fylde, a Seagull, a Sire, a J160E and a Tele with a Fishman Powerbridge and I'm deciding which guitars to use the rest on. The looper would not meet Sheeran requirements but it's handy if you want to solo over a verse/chorus pattern you previously played. So far very good, and the manual is reasonably easy to follow. Nearly 5 stars, but that's reserved for when a pedal is as good as a Neumann.Mick C.
