This is a used epiphone masterbilt deluxe round hole archtop guitar, made in 2016. it has a factory-installed pickups and the controls are just inside the soundhole. please inspect the photos closely and note that this guitar has only minor cosmetic flaws and is in good shape. the neck of this guitar has a medium c shape. the action is low and playable up and down the neck, and there's plenty of room in both directions on the adjustable bridge. the frets are in good shape. the acoustic sound of this instrument is open, woody, and loud. the electronics function properly and the character of the pickup is a bit brighter and brassier than the unplugged sound. the serial number of this guitar is 16062301423 and it comes with an epiphone hard case.

From the arch top to the neck, this is a beautiful instrument. The satin natural finish, floating tail piece and bridge looks period correct even if there were no bass guitars like this at the time. The five piece neck feels just right to me – it is neither chunky or slim. Unamplified, it has a pleasing and understated tone. Plugged into a Phil Jones bass amp it comes to life and sounds more like a double bass than an electric bass guitar. The hollow body will feedback at volume – F-hole plugs are a good idea to have.The flat wound nylon coated strings deliver a smooth tone and are forgiving to pay. They stay in tune well. Very appealing in both its tone and look. Kind of the best combo of arch top features: F-holes, tailpiece, pick guard. Not to mention the tuning pegs have that vintage style. Unlike a true vintage guitar, you get active electric pickups in this guitar, making it a great choice as an electric guitar for jazz and blues… Rockabilly even. Easy adjustments with the truss rod and bridge raising/lowering gears. And strap buttons on both ends of the body which is not always the case on acoustic guitars. The volume and tone pots are inside the f-holes well-hidden but easily accessible. Only negatives: the wires might buzz when you play certain frequencies, I've found you can push them down to prevent this.Nathan

Best acoustic archtop I have played for the money. Other guitars I have tried: Godin, The Loar, Eastman. This is the classic Eddie Lang, Alan Reuss sound, and the electronics just amplify the same sound. Not a piezo sound at all. Nice thicker neck, which is appropriate for a 1930s era instrument. I'm 49 yrs. old and have played for about 35 yrs. That being said, I had high hopes for this guitar after watching and reading so much about it, but it's just okay. It's built great and all of the details are there, but it's really very awkward to play and the tone is just okay. The fretboard sits about 2 inches above the top of the guitar where it joins the body so it doesn't play like an acoustic or an electric guitar. I never could find a position, sitting or standing, where I felt like it "fit" me. The finish is a flat satin and overall it feels really blah like a 150 buck Rogue guitar. I'm not a guitar snob by any means, my go – to guitar is a Taylor GS mini, but it just really didn't move me at all, which is disappointing to me. I returned the guitar and I am glad I did.Funky T
Being a fan of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, I sought after a 1930's vintage Epiphone archtop to mimic their sound. Not wanting to shell out thousands of dollars, I took a chance on the recent reissue of the Olympic archtop featured here. I like that it can get you a little closer to that unique sound that Welch/Rawlings deliver for a fraction of the price (learning how to play his style is a LOT harder to achieve!) You really have to wrestle a bit with this guitar. It has a thick neck, which makes it a challenge for me. But the struggle is worth the sweet sound in the end.tim_woosley

Great sounding and playing guitar, I replaced the synthetic saddle for bone, original was to tapered on the high E new saddle took care of that. Buy the epiphone or roadrunner jumbo case, nothing else fits, make sure if the guitar comes straight from the factory you use a humidifier in your case for at least 6 months. Especially in colorado. Then if you leave it out without a humidifier that you dont have forcrd Heat or air conditioning vents close to the guitar. This guitar has great projection.Kenny
After purchasing this guitar from American Musical Supply, I was really nervous awaiting its arrival because this was actually my first time purchasing an instrument online. I’m used to going inside music shops and trying out different gear and playing guitars before I buy them so I know that what I’m taking home with me already feels comfortable and right in my hands. This guitar in particular, however, is not a style that is normally kept stocked in the stores for customers to test drive before they purchase. Similar models are available in stores near me but I think anyone who has ever wanted this particular model from Epiphone knows that they have heard and felt the beautiful sound that projects from this big guitar and I am here to tell you that my “leap of faith” online purchase was nothing more than a huge win in my book! This guitar looks, sounds and plays just as I expected it would with much more to offer once it’s actually in your hands! I’m personally a country/blues guy so this guitar definitely fits right up that alley in my opinion. It feels so solid in your hands and the tone is just plain awesome! The Jumbo body allows the sounds inside the guitar to reverberate through your body as it’s pressed against you before making its way through the sound hole where it flourishes into that awesome deep, thick sound. From the factory the guitar is set up beautifully and very playable right out of the box. Quality parts, quality wood and quality electronics as expected from Epiphone and very well executed in this model. Definitely worth every penny for the undecided guitarist but hey, don’t take just my word for it! I once owned a Gibson J15, that I bought from Guitar Center, and I loved it, but I always wanted a J200, I just could never afford one. Well, I ended up having to sell my J15 to pay rent one month, and I ended up having some extra money from it, and thought why not give the Epi a try? It's closer to the Guitar I always wanted anyways. I was blown away. It has all the high end stylings of a Gibson J200, maybe even more if you consider the built in tuner and cutaway features for about 3000$ less. Well, unfortunately I only owned it for about a week before my car broke down and I had to return my Epi to pay for the repairs. I've regretted it ever since. I would have rather donated blood 50 times than have returned that guitar. (Fortunately I just got my tax return and repurchased it, and it seems like it sounds even better than before). As I was saying, it stacks up against s Gibson guitar nicely, the shadow preamp isn't as nice as any LR Baggs system but it will certainly give you lots of usable sounds. I think this is the best guitar in the 500$ price range and I'm disappointed in Guitar Center for not carrying it in store. I'm a firm believer in the fact that having a guitar you like, you like the looks of, you like the feel of, will make you a better guitarist, and that's what this beautiful, fat boy jumbo acoustic has done for me. I actually like mine so much I decided to put some money into it for upgrades, and I haven't been disappointed. I stuck some Grover Keystone tuners on it in gold of course ( had them on my Epi Les Paul before and thought would look cool so I just swapped them), some Martin ebony bridge pins, and some D'Addario EXPs and this thing sounds unreal now. Great for the price. It is a good idea to change the strings right away though. The guitar is playable from the get go however I did some adjustment on the rod to make it perfect. Its design allow for easy reach of the highest notes close to the body and the tuners and the electronics are good enough for a beginner to intermediate player. It comes with an entry level amp that outputs strong and high volume it is small but powerful enough for practicing indoors. All in all a great package for the money. This is a great guitar! I would honestly recommend it to relatively anyone. It has a great feel to it that would be exceptional for young players, but also has a good sound that's great for those more experienced. A bought the Epiphone PR-4E LE in vintage sunburst for a good price as the SDOTD. I have been playing for over 40 years semi professionally and I own a number of higher end acoustics but I wanted to purchase a "beater" that I could break out at a party and not have to worry about one of my intoxicated friends bumping or scratching it. This guitar seemed to fit the bill. The reason I gave it three stars is that although the fit and finish seemed very good, this is supposedly a student level/beginners guitar and the action that it arrived with would be difficult and frustrating for anyone to learn on. I do my own luthier work and I had to spend about two hours to cut the nut, take some relief off of the neck and shave the bridge down to get it to play well. I do not know if my experience with this acoustic is an exception but at this price point I doubt it. With that said it is a nice beginner guitar with a nice build quality, it sounds surprisingly full and rich and if yours arrive like mine I would strongly suggest taking it to your local trusted luthier and spend the extra cash to have it set up properly and have the action lowered. Now mine plays wonderfully and is fun to play. If I didn't have to do all the work to get it playing properly I would have easily given this guitar 4 stars but at this price point I kind of expected thatG-Man

I had two of these guitars one in vintage sunburst and the other in natural. I found their build quality to be very similar to each other. The natural one (bought second hand) didnt sound that great, it seemed to have a missing mid range and no bottom. The strings seemed to buzz also. The mid and lows were there and no buzz. This guitar was new, unlike the other so I'm confident it had a factory set up. Just be aware that when buying these guitars second hand, they could very well have fallen into the wrong hands that try to lower the action or whatever else. Probably best to try before you buy. I wanted something I wouldn't outgrow and this fits the bill perfectly as a lot of expert musicians, claim this rivals guitars costing $2,000-$3,000 range. All I know is it sounds amazing, looks fantastic and has so many features associated with the classic dreadnoughts of the past. I saw an ad on Reverb for one of these being sold through Sam Ash of Tampa and I called the store to make sure it was available. I spoke with George Savvas and after searching the web, he found the ad for the guitar, but informed me it was unfortunately no longer in the store. He asked for my number and said he would calm me back. Within 2 hours, George called me back, said he located another guitar that was exactly the same (model, finish, condition, etc…), and that he would honor the price advertised on Reverb. He shipped it out that day to my home in Las Vegas (free of charge) and it arrived a few days later packed well and in pristine condition. So, the delivery was superb. A hefty case with papers of authentication. That nice smell of new instruments like taking a new car off the lot. The sounds is crisp. Overall: I'm impressed, would almost grab this guitar for a gig over my Taylor. Plays real nice out of the box and had a way better setup than the last two more expensive guitars i have purchased from zZounds. Sorry zZounds i love how you make instruments affordable for everyone to buy, but the 2 guitars i ordered before this one were unplayable. Maybe they don't check the setup on guitars shipping out which would make it the manufactures fault. But this Epiphone is really nice with ow action and ready to play out of the box. It sounds great with no harshness in any frequencies, and my biggest surprise was when i plugged it in, it sounded just as good as my Taylor guitar. That is unheard of at this price they usually skimp on electronics in the cheaper guitars. I love that is bass and treble instead of just one tone control and the onboard tuner is also nice. And it includes a really nice hard shell case. You cant go wrong with this one. Only reason i knocked of a star for quality is the latch in the battery holder feels a little cheap and didn't want to go in very easily. Care should be taken when changing batteries so it don't break. The rest of the guitar seems like top quality.
Overall: This guitar has an outstanding natural tone, and decent electronics. The phaser works well to avoid feedback when plugged in to a PA. Ive had this guitar for 9 months now, I love the guitar, but it has required a decent amount of adjustments. I've made several truss rod adjustments as the wood has shifted a little more than an average new acoustic guitar. The guitar developed a very bad fret buzz at the 13th/14th fret on the g and b strings, which I haven't been able to fix yet, it seems to be a fret wire issue. The input Jack is in the strap button, which seems cool, but I wish this wasn't the case. The constant movement on the button has caused the piece to continually come loose. Its an extremely difficult location to reach to fix the input Jack. I ended up spending another 40 dollars in tools to fix this recurring issue. I placed lock tight on the bolt, which helped hold it in place. Unfortunately, having to adjust The input jack/strap button so often, I now have a connection issue at my input Jack. I will end up taking this guitar to a technician which will probably end up costing 100-150 to fix the problems it's developed. Overall the guitar sounds great, comes with a very nice hardshell case, electronics sound really good. I'm a gigging musician, so tone is clearly important, and paying half the value of this guitar for repair, less than one year into owning it, is worth the investment, assuming it doesn't develop more issues.Joseph

My first excellente went back because of preamp problems. Second was a little different didn’t play well plus fretting out past the 12 th fret. Local shop stated the neck needed to be refitted. Guitar Center said bad frets needed to be sanded, bridge needed to be replaced and a normal setup done. Awesomeness!!! Picked it up and it plays “Rxcellente. e. I have had this guitar now for nearly a year and I can say that is a pretty cool guitar. i haven't had to change the string ones but it is getting to the point now that seeing change would be a good idea. depending on what you would use this for. i have had some trouble with the tuner but I use this mainly without it as I have my own for my other guitar
I was fortunate enough to get one of the last remaining Mahogany Burst models and the "look" is one of the nicest I've seen at any price point. The dark brown body finish reveals just enough of the wood grain to please. It flows well to the top blending into a more transparent finish that shows off the top grain very nicely. The fit and finish are flawless. It's a shame Epiphone is no longer offering it in this very beautiful unique finish. One thing that surprised me is that acoustically the guitar has less low end than I would have expected from a body style that is essentially a round shouldered Dreadnought. While this may disappoint some it actually helps a great deal when amplified. It lacks the "boominess" of many other large bodied models that needs to be dialed out when performing or recording. The low end is there when amplified but much cleaner, tighter, and more piano like. The Fishman pickup and Presys II preamp are a cut above what might typically be found in an acoustic in this price range and the overall tonality is nicely balanced across the board. Played through a quality acoustic amp or PA it's sounds great. I typically use a 7 band graphic EQ and a TC BodyRez effect with my acoustics to provide a bit more control over their voicing and the BodyRez provides a more natural close mic'd like body resonance. Any cons such as neck profile and scale length are minor niggles revolving primarily around personal preference and don't reduce the value of this model. But it would be nice if Epiphone saw fit to use a bone nut and bridge as and use the same Grover tuners used on the J-45 model even if it increased the price a bit. The stock 14:1 tuners are somewhat imprecise. Also, move the preamp to the top of bout so it can be seen more easily. As always Sweetwater's order processing and shipping were lightning fast. So a tip of the hat to those guys and to my rep Ian McGhee who has taken care of every order I've ever placed, even the smallest, in a very cordial and professional manner. This has resulted in my doing ever more business with Sweetwater because they're earned it.
Sound: Beautiful sound and great response, highs and lows are right on. Its the middle that shines, not muddy and unclear. Its a great sounding guitar, that will only get better with age and time. Features: Great selection of wood and tuners, frets are not sharp, fret board is easy to play. Satin neck makes chord changes up and down the fretboard a breeze. Tuner spot on and easy to use. Ease of Use: The smoothness of the neck and fretboard, make this the most easy guitar I have played. I don't want to put it down. Its like it's made for me alone. Quality: This guitar is cheap only on how much it costs. The way it's built and the electronics it has make it feel like a 1200 dollar guitar, not a 300 dollar guitar. I have played more expensive guitars, this looks, sounds, and plays like those 1200 or more guitars. Value: Well worth more than 300 dollars. It is a great guitar, I can see why it's one of epiphone's best sellers. Manufacturer Support: Have not had any issue or reason to call the company. They built this well. The Wow Factor: Right out of the box it looked amazing, it's the first guitar that I have bought that didn't need adjusted or set up. It sounds or should I say it sings when you play it. Overall: I bought the epiphone aj220sce in vintage starburst. Right out of the box the action was right on. NEVER had that happen before. It tuned up quickly. Played it acoustically and it sounded beautiful. Then played it through the amp I have… This is when it shined even more. I look forward to years of playing this guitar and, it's solid top sounding better with age. Quality workmanship and what this guitar is built with. overall ths was a very sour experience rearding the guitar. i returned it and musicians friend is always absolutely wonderful with customer service and satisfaction. so im happy that i was able to return it features seem nice the guitar is beautiful and well put together maybe i got a defected model but the quality of the sound was very poor. it had a cheap guitar sound to it and the guitar had terrible buzz when playing, but i raised the action under the bridge saddle and it was better. also the guitar wouldnt stay in tune or even more when each string played open it was in tune and i would press down on a chord or press a string on a fret the tuning would be too sharp but play the string open and it was in perfect tune. i tried changing the strings but didnt help at all. very dissapointing but maybe that particular guitar was just flawed. this isnt the first time that ive played a guitar and sound quality was poor but normally its a cheap guitar this guitar sound not have sounded this way if my guitar wasnt flawed i would say the value would be great
Epiphone really built a solid performer, especially for a workhorse studio guitar. It is also performs very well unplugged or plugged in for those small to medium gigs. Should be a staple for any song writing guitar player. Unbelievable value for a guitar of this quality. This is a wonderful guitar, especially at this price point! I got a really good deal from Musician's Friend. I expected a great guitar (I have several Epiphone acoustics and electrics, and am very happy with the quality of the Epiphone brand) and I was not disappointed. Great finish, great sound, especially through an amp. I especially love the on-board pickup/electronics- what a great sound! After changing strings to Earthwood .10s, the string height and action were just great- no adjustments needed. The workmanship was flawless, and the finish was beautiful. I already had a case that I had purchased for a PR4e, but a quality hardshell case is still available for a remarkably cheap price.. All in all, a quality guitar at a great price.huston

I've been looking for a particular sound from an acoustic to replace my Ibanez. I went into to the GC to get strings for my other axes and try out a white Tele they had. Tele wasn't quite what I was looking for so I went into the accoustic room and this just stood out and I had to tryit. I was sold after one strum of Dm-A-G. That was the sound I wanted. Mids somewhere between a J45 and a Taylor. Highs have just the right amount of brilliance without stealing the show. Exactly what I was looking for. It has a bone nut and saddle so this thing rings out so well. The only thing I can think of negative is the Epiphone Deluxe tuners feel cheap. I'm just going to order some Gibson Deluxe's, other than that this is a beaut!JR
This guitar is beautiful. I've played many guitars, but none are more pretty than this. I have the Cherry Burst, wow! The fretboard material is Laural Wood. It plays nicely with bended notes, nice and firm. This guitar has good "weight." It is one of the heavier acoustics I've played. I like that too, it feels like great quality. Mine is not made in China. It was manufactured in Indonesia. These Asian manufacturers are doing a great job and I like it that mine is from Indonesia, too. There is good balance in sound from string to string, too. It's nice that it came with a sound hole cover, but such a nice (and fairly pricey) guitar should come with a gig bag or case.Boomer
Overall: Ok let me first say that I have been playing guitar since 1964. I have so many guitars since then I can't even remember them.In my experience Epiphone guitars have always been a solid platform for someone who is first starting and novice and intermediate level players.After reading about these " Inspired By Gibson" series Masterbilt guitars I thought I'd give one a try to see how close to a real Hummingbird it is.It caught me off guard. The fit and finish is outstanding. The playability was absolutely perfect out of the box.The original 1960's Headstock makes it look really nice. Not that deeply scalloped extended swelled at the top one usually find on an Epiphone. Nice touch Epiphone !The tulip Keystone vintage tuners are excellent. Smooth and tight. Fret work was amazing for a guitar in this price point as well as getting a guitar with beautiful solid mahogany and Sitka spruce that is finished in an accurate vintage toner. The real Mother of Pearl inlays are a really nice touch.At this price point getting an instrument with a one piece mahogany neck with no seperate heel is almost unheard of. I am tempted to say this Epiphone is so close to the Gibson model it amazed me that Gibson would allow Epiphone to produce something this close to their high dollar Hummingbird.In conclusion…. Bought the F-250E to play small gigs. It is beautiful and booms! I also bought Gator's inexpensive jumbo case which is for sale with most major online vendors – it fits like a custom build. It is gig-able right out of the delivery truck. I am 6 foot and of average frame and ergonomically it is quite comfortable despite its size. You will catch yourself staring at the finish, it could have fallen out of a time machine from 1956. I highly recommend the F-250E.Thomas
Extremely happy with the Jumbo! Very pleasing warm tone. very loud if you get into it. Depending on the setting, play Rythm you may not need an amp. The finish is impeccable. The sunburst is a beauty to behold. The setup and action very good right out of the box. always wanted a Jumbo, the Guild F250E was the right choice for me. 8/16/21. Recieved my f 250 from sweetwater. Couldnt be more pleased. Guitar came double boxed with plenty xtra padding. Only thing needed was a small tune.played great..However im kind of picky, so after an hour playing it, i destrung it and made a few minor personal adjustments.String action, truss rod, and new DR sunbeam strings 12 -53,s.This is an amazing guitar ,for what you pay, your getting twice the guitar.blindfold me ,let me play it, and i would believe i was playing a 1000.00 guitar. Overall: I ordered the Guild F-250CE from zZounds and was promptly shipped this Guitar and also a Gator jumbo case to go with it. I was very skeptical of a guitar in this price range but ordered it anyway. I figured if I didn't like it, I could return it. I've been playing Guitar for over 40 years and play a Martin HD28, Taylor 810E DLX, Guild F55 and aTakamine John Jorgenson 12 string. My expectations were high and I purchased the Guild F250CE because I was looking for a Guitar that was balanced but with a nice crisp bright tone and I am not disappointed!The quality is excellent on this Guitar and she's a beauty. The top is a nice Sitka Spruce and the back and sides are beautiful Flamed Maple. I'm not sure if the sides and back are a veneer but I can tell you that looking inside the Guitar, it's definately Maple. Trim and finish are excellent. This Guitar rivals American made guitar at 4 times the cost. I've added a bone saddle and bridge pins and this improved the sound a bit, (not that there was anything wrong with the sound to start.) I did have to adjust the neck which is normal for a new guitar. The action is excellent with no fret buzz whatsoever. She's so easy to play up and down the entire scale. The fret work is good and fretboard wood is excellent.The sound on the under $700 Guild is outstanding. She has plenty of bottom end bass and you can feel every note in your chest while playing the guitar. The mids are very nice but the top end is the gem on the F-250CE. She's nice and bright with tons of sustain. This guitar sounds better than some of my American made guitars and I'm playing it more than my other acoustics. Don't let the made in China dissuade you. In my opinion this Guitar is worth much more than I played for it. How do they make a beautiful Guitar for so little dollars? This guitar would be a great add for beginner to advanced players. Bang for the buck, you can't beat it!
The flamed maple back and sides are really nice looking. The spruce top isn't the most select grade visually, but the sound quality is still excellent and the sunburst finish still looks good. It feels solid and well made with good tuners. It is a really big guitar, that along with the maple body and arched back provides lots of volume. Just needs a case.Okie Picker

Look, I have played guitar over 50 years. I bought this to have a guitar to play around the camp fire or just drag around. I had Sweetwater set it up before it shipped. Got this thing and was completely blown away! With the set up it plays better than my Ovation Elite. Great guitar and great sound not to mention the service from Greg and the guys at Sweetwater. Perfect set up, awesome customer service. For the price, there is no way you can go wrong with this guitar – just make sure you get it set up properly!!!
Much more than a starter guitar. Put a set of Elixir strings on this, a minor tweak of the action and away you go. Plays like an electric sounds full-bodied like a Dreadnought should. Full range of sound from base mid and treble. Mic it or I use a Dean Markley pick up for amplifier. A gorgeous sound and play sensitivity to a myriad of different styles. I have more expensive acoustic guitars. But believe it or not this one sounds better and plays better than all of them. I purchased the ebony all black model. It has a very nice look on stage. But my thing is not how an instrument looks but rather on the playability and the tonal quality. A wonderful steal for the price. I'm telling you if you purchase this guitar for practice recording or performance you will not be disappointed. And at this price point you can get one for next to the couch, one for the studio, one for the camping trip, one for the beach, and one for the stage. And still not spend as much as ONE Taylor.
This 79 buck guitar was the biggest surprise ever! I really didn't expect much, and was having second thoughts after I placed the order. I bought the sunburst version on a SDOTD as a total impulse buy. I have several expensive acoustics, and I don't need a cheap guitar. But I have to say, this is a really nice instrument. The fit and finish is above average, with relatively smooth fret ends and a huge sound. The tuners, however inexpensive, work as intended and stay in tune. The sunburst finish is lovely, with only one small thumbnail scratch. The neck joint is well done, and the neck has a comfortable full feeling. Epiphone has improved the "E" symbol on the pickguard, it is made into the plastic, and not glued on and wanting to fall off like on the older Epiphones. The rosette appears to be painted on, but it looks good regardless. The bridge (rosewood) is solidly attached to the top, with no lifting or gaps. The body has a white plastic binding front and back that is well executed. The rosewood fretboard is attractive with nice grain. And the sound! This guitar has a huge, loud sound for a laminate guitar. Tomorrow I plan to replace the original strings with some quality mediums, which can only make it sound even better. One odd feature is a false truss rod cover, held in place with three wood screws. There is nothing under it! The access to the truss rod is inside the sound hole. I did have to remove some glue from around the truss rod adjusting nut inside the guitar. Quite frankly, the quality and sound of the Epiphone just blows me away! If I had to sell all of my other acoustics and only keep this one, I would be content. It's that good!JimmyJ
