I tried these strings on copy of an ES-335 style guitar. The pickups are not as alive as I would like. The strings appeared to add energy to the pickup and resonate well. I enjoyed the new sounds and power when playing. I was able to bend the strings to my heart's content and pretend that I was a blues master. Do not be afraid to give these strings a go.Ed
The best sounding and feeling strings I have ever used. Most of my guitars have vintage powered pickups and these strings are extremely clear sounding. They sound great on my Strats and Teles. They sound fantastic on my '61 RI SG and LTD PB 500 (Duncan Alnico II pickups). They still have the "slinky" feel of regular Ernie Ball strings. They seem to last a little longer too. If you are a bedroom player, you will like them. If you are a gigging player you will love them. I have always used EB strings, these are now the only strings I use.ShaneC
These are great strings. The feel like Slinkys to me, but are a little more slippery. Sustain is fantastic. I wore out a set of DR DDT (11 bottom) so, I put them on my Ibanez GRG121. This guitar has dinky weak humbuckers, but a pinch holds way longer with the strings…to the point that it feels more like upgrading the pickups. Maybe it's placebo, but I could swear they have a tighter swing too. I went thinner than the DDTs (obviously) putting these on and some of the first moment fret butt I got above fret 15 went away. Maybe it's just bc their thinner, but watching them I think they swing less. Try these strings… *Note: They leave a nasty bitter on your fingers.Steve
2. Ernie Ball Super Slinky Electric Guitar String Set, Crimson
Product Details:
Reviews:
(Guitar there were placed on is a Tom Murphy Painted and Aged Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard w/ Brazilian Fretboard) Back in the day, Ernie Ball strings weren't packaged well; they weren't even sealed. If you haven't tried them since their packaging was reinvented, they're definitely worth a look now. Tried D'Addario pure nickel strings, found the wound three to be too low output. I swear the core wire looked like it belonged in acoustic strings. Maybe I got a factory defect, who knows. Gibson strings sound great initially but the 'G' starts to sound dead after a week and the wound strings sound dead and filthy in three weeks. These on the other hand sound marvelous. They sound great out of the package, stay balanced, and sound good for longer than I thought possible.MidnightRiderInTX
I have recently come back to playing the guitar, Sax is my primary instrument but I have had my Gibson RD Standard since 1978. I have since increased my heard of guitars to 10 electric guitars and 3 bass guitars. I have come to favor the Ernie Ball lights and super lights on almost all my guitars. I play the 9's on all of my Stratocaster copies and the super lights on the 3/4 size guitars. I love the feel as far as tone, intonation, flexibility ease of bends and how the strings hold up as a whole. I would definitely recommend to a friend or buy this produce again.Antonio
I have been using the Power Slinkys (11s) for a few years now. I had switched from another brand because the Slinkys made my Strat sound more Straty. After watching a few videos on YouTube about string gauge, I thought I would buy the Regular Slinkys (10s) and see what difference that would make. When I got online to buy I saw that Guitar Center had a sale on 12 packs and since there is a pandemic, I thought it prudent to hoard strings. My logic was that while I may run out of TP, I would never run out of strings for my guitars. Long story short, you cannot go wrong with the tone of 10s. I do like them better than the 11s. They are much clearer in the low end and you get more definition. I have to do less EQing when recording and they just seem to pop better in a mix. The only downside is that they are taking me time to get used to, I play very heavy handed and these are much easier to bend. But I can already see that I have less hand fatigue.Richard

Reviews:
I build guitars and buy these for setups period. I have tried to use these on one occasion just for kicks but found the tension all wrong. Not so much on the wound strings as the unwound upper strings. I found the tension and feel really poor. They seemed to be ridiculous to bend and if you managed that they felt like they were about ready to snap. I did not like the brittle tone either. The feel of these is just all wrong but they are cheap and fine to use for building but my guitars would never go out with these!Thump54
Musicians Gear strings are perfect for any player. If you get your strings for free because of an endorsement deal, you can claim a better value. I don't have that option = I pay for my strings. I change strings about once a month, sometimes more often, because NOTHING sounds as good as a new set of strings. But I can't afford big coins to keep fresh strings on them. These MGs are very affordable, they sound great, they play well, they are consistent, and I am very happy when I play with new strings. The new packaging helps stop rust and corrosion, so I usually buy in boxes of 10, just so I have some on hand.guitarpicker7
I use these strings all the time. Dont believe all the nonsense you read- they sound good, they last well and they are affordable. If you dont need to pay double or triple for hype, buy these strings. The best sounding strings in the world are new strings. Buy a stack of these and change them whenever you need to. The more you play, the more often you will need to change them. Even a cheap guitar will sound good with new strings. And the most expensive guitar will sound bad with old strings. I love them.reynardfoxe

Reviews:
I've been playing/collecting new and vintage guitars for 26 years, and regularly try new strings. I noticed that if these strings contact the bridge when re-stringing, the color will chip off immediately. Secondly, they feel like dull plastic. This feels like your fingers are dragging, and seems "cheap". Thirdly, I had to adjust all the pickup heights on the low-E, as the heavier strings sound completely dull and lifeless. I also received a damaged string, and contacted DR customer service. I haven't even received a response in two weeks, which demonstrates how unimportant we are. In this day and age, where online retail is more important then ever, this is unacceptable. This is NOT a reflection on Guitar Center, which always takes good care of me. Ultimately, these strings are a cheesy gimmick that will hopefully fade out. If you want quality coated-strings, try Elixir.DS
I decided to pick up guitar after a 15 year break and found Rocksmith to be a pretty useful tool. I put these on my guitar to help with getting familiar with the fretboard and neck. Because it's been awhile. The first couple of days, the strings sounded great with no issues, but a couple of weeks in, some of the strings sound muted a little bit and are just not as crisp as non-coated strings. i'll probably take these off sooner than later. I would recommend these for RockSmith but if you're looking to just dress up your guitar, I would caution against them.Citiznkain
I'm a beginner and I never learned to read music. I bought these strings specifically to play along with the game Rocksmith 2014. For those who are just starting out, these strings make it easier to learn to play because of the individual colors of each string. I have bought multiple packs of these strings. I've recently bought a electric guitar, acoustic/electric, and a bass. I have put these strings on all three. Love them. As an added bonus, these strings really light up underneath a black light.Mark just starting out
5. Dr Dimebag Darrell Electric Guitar Strings

The dimebag darrell signature hi-voltage electric guitar strings stay in tune and remain bright and fresh for a long time. dr hi-voltages are made for string bends, whammy-bar dives, harmonic screams, and chunky riffs." i've been playin' the strings of strength since 1995. i like the way dr strings feel and react, you can really get a grip on them. they're great for everything, from big ol' string bends, to huge whammy bar dives, perfect for blood curdling harmonic screams and just straight out heavy chunky riffin'. they also stay in perfect tune and remain fresh and bright for an amazingly long time" said dimebag.gauges 10-13-17-26-36-46.
Reviews:
ive been buying these strings for my husband since they came out! he is the most incredible guitarist i know -Ed from Blind Hatred and Anger and Grace. he swears by these strings. he plays a lot of thrash and shredding solos and any pantera song there ever was. but can also play all nirvana or the solo to comfortably numb. point is these strings are versatile and can take a beating.jamie, lead singer anger and gra
Been playing guitar since 2004, and started playing more metal/hard rock stuff shortly after. I used to always use my father's d'addario's as a kid, but bought these because of the dimebag logo when in 2007, and they did not disappoint. The feel, the tone, the longevity of the tunings are all exquisite. Have turned several friends onto these strings over the years. Excellent for my usage, metal and rock work in standard, Drop D, and Drop C. Will buy these strings as long as they are manufactured, specifically the 10-46 set.Scotty
These strings feel great on your hands and last a very long time. After the initial stretch they stay in tune very well and sound great. I see why Dimebag used them. I installed these on all 12 of my guitars and I buy them by the case from AMS. I have tried every string out there and these are by far my absolute favorite. The price is great and so are the strings, you can’t beat that! They respond very well to harmonics and floyd rose dive bombs. Just all around great strings! Thanks DR and AMS!Brett W
6. Rogue P22 Bulk 022 Plain Steel Electric Guitar Strings (12-Pack)
Product Details:

Reviews:
I've been playing for 38 years. I wasn't aware of generic strings in the old days so I've used all the big names, Ernie Ball, GHS, D'addario and to me these are pretty good strings. I've been using them for 8 or 9 years now. The main thing I will say about them is that they mellow out quickly, in other words the new string brightness goes away pretty fast. For me, this is good. I do not like that jangle brightness of new strings. Other than that I can't hear or feel a difference from the major brands. I have recommended them to friends who also liked them. We were in a cover band together and had to restring many guitars fairly often because they would get sweat all over and not wiped down. So these were economical.Quinn
I bought a whole bunch of these in different sizes as it is a good way to experiment with using different sized strings. Some strings last a while but many pop almost immediately right at the ball. Once I had three in a row pop, each one the first time I struck the string with the pick. Enough of the strings work well enough to allow me to accomplish what i wanted but it is frustrating and I will be glad when they run out. But whatever at this price I don't really care.b
I ordered a huge bulk back in 2010, the 10 thru 46 guages set. They hold tune well and have good tone. After each time I practice or gig, I wipe down the strings with 3 in 1 oil and they last. Some people complain that the ball ends break off. But I only use these strings on my Floyd Rose equiped guitars, so I use the ball end wrapped through the posts of my tuning keys, then lock the clamp down. I use stainless steel picks and stacatto pick ( like Yngwie Malmsteen), bend 2 whole steps and pull up hard on the tremolo bar …..and they stay in perfect tune. I'm due for another huge order and will post another review.A.J.
7. Ernie Ball Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings

Nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around tin-plated hex-shaped steel core wire provides vibrant, bright, lasting tone and reduces fret wear. this weight balances maximum response from your pickups with playability and bendability. ernie ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life. gauges 10-13-17-26-36-46.
Reviews:
I have used Ernie Ball Slinkys since I started playing guitar (time that can be measured in decades, that's all I say). I have been through other top brands, and just don't like them. I have gotten to know EB strings to the point where I can nearly predict when they'll break. That's good in my book. The lively tone and intonation stays for a LONG time. And they're good enough to scrape clean and, in the word of Billy Idol, Start Again. Well, that beats boiling them (RIP EVH). What's even better is all these new, attractive hybrid sets, allowing you to easily find your groove without having to get two packs for your ideal set! EB just keeps getting better.Guy lll

Reviews:
Over the years I've tried many different brands of strings on my electric guitars. Looking for good tone was easy- because all strings seem to sound 'great' when they're new. But after a couple days other brands just go flat, and lose their life & bite. Y'all know what I'm talkin about! These Dimebags are different from ALL the others. Not only do they sound great & bring out all the hidden tones of a bunch of different types of guitars; (a Fender American Strat, Gibson SG, and of course, a Dean FBD ML for example) but man- I'm not lyin' when I tell you these things last and last! From straight out strumming to layin on 'em hard with a wammy- they're top notch! DR DIMEBAGS ARE THE BEST! Don't waste your time & money looking further. Use the 9-42 set for standard tunings, & use the 9-50 set for whole step drop tunings AND standard, to boot. I think you get the point! Oh yeah, THANKS DR & DIME! Rock In Peace!Friend of a Friend-jdSOt
9. Stringjoy Broadways – Classic Light Pure Nickel Electric Guitar Strings (10-46)
Product Details:
What s better than a classic? a classic made even better. what, you don t think that s possible? well then let me present to you exhibit a our broadway classic light gauge set.if you ve ever played pure nickel strings before, these strings have even more nickel in them than the strings you ve played in the past. that means more of that rich, full tonal character. it also means more flexibility, since the round core is thinner than it is in other sets. but these don t sacrifice when it comes to strength or durability either, and they hold tune with the best of em.in my book, that s a win-win-win. a trifecta. a triple crown. jack's guitarcheology is a licensed distributor of stringjoy products.

Reviews:
I hardly ever review stuff. Also, it is hard to write a review like this without sounding like a bit of an ass, but here goes: I've been playing for 20+ years. Lots and lots of time spent playing on and off stages in all manner of venues. These strings are hands down and without question absolutely, positively the best strings I have ever played. I have been playing .10-.52's for years and the Stringjoy set just kills. If it wasn't true that I will NEVER buy another brand of strings again, I would say that Stringjoy strings are too good to be good business. I change strings about three times LESS than I used to. And while I used to blow my b or e strings off my guitar routinely during shows, I (almost) never breaks strings now. These things have unparalleled life and longevity and sound snappy gig after gig after gig (well, back when we used to do that sort of thing). We've all played all the major brands. Frankly, I considered them interchangeable and just had dogmatic loyalty to certain brands for no particular reason that would change from time to time (availability?). If you don't have a lot of playing time under your belt bending strings and playing hard, you may not notice how good Stringjoy strings are. If you are a serious player, do yourself a favor and get a set (Hell, get 10 sets). You might not notice the difference immediately, but you'll notice the following month when you haven't broken a string and they sound just as good as they did when you strapped 'em on. Thanks for an awesome product, guys. Seriously. Also, I just realized that I'm reviewing the Broadways (green). I like them a lot. The blue ones rule and they are the ones I usually get.Julian A
I’ve been playing various styles of music for the past 55 years. As a musician, songwriter, arranger and singer I am constantly looking for ways to improve. Whether “live†or in the studio the quality of equipment is of vital importance. Over the past several months I have been using Stringjoy Signatures on my Strats, Tele and Les Pauls. They definitely are ahead of the curve in every way and I recommend them highly. If you have not at least “experimented†with Stringjoys you owe it to yourself to do so. If you are serious about your music you need also to be serious about your strings.Michael D
I had been a loyal user of (unnamed brand) strings for over 3 decades. The first time I tried Stringjoys, I had such a positive visceral reaction that i had to try one more set on the same guitar, assuming that it was a fluke. NOPE! The differences are real! My tone was exponentially better, and they felt "right". That was over 5 years ago, and I will never use another brand of string on any of my stringed instruments (yes, I have migrated my acoustic guitars, a lap-steel, and a few basses to Stringjoy!). The improvements are not anecdotal or trivial, these are amazing strings!Rich P
10. Fender Hendrix Voodoo Child Bullet End Nps Electric Guitar Strings, 10-38
Product Details:
Jimi hendrix set the music world on fire with his rule-breaking playing style and one-of-a-kind tone. make a fundamental piece of his full, warm tone yours by winding up a set of voodoo child strings, with jimi’s signature heavy-high, light-low gauge setup. fender’s patented bullet end creates a sonic coupling between the string and bridge block, for rock solid tuning stability and increased sustain. easy to bend and full of the magic that was the source of his sound, these strings are a painstaking recreation of jimi’s beloveds. move over rover–and let jimi’s strings take over.

Reviews:
Love these strings worth every penny. . Hendrix guitar tech knew his s*** when he installed these is all I can say . . Roger I believe was his name . .the G string is the main difference that gets you the right sound with the reverse headstock and reverse slant pickup on the Hendrix Stratocaster .. highly recommend this upgrade to any strat as they work great on my 2011 corona california made standard strat with mojotone pickups also that has the smaller normal headstock as well
I bought my first set of these because of the novelty. I bought many more because these are the only strings I want to use now. If I can't find them I replicate the gauges with single strings- but don't do this, buy the Fender strings. I mean, $5? Buy a case. Keep these available! These strings produce a balanced tone. Which is an incredible sound. Complicated chord voicings ring through with clarity (overdrive). I was immediately reminded of Ty Tabor's beautiful 'wall of tone' sound, filling a wide spectrum with rich, tight timbres. Users of short scale guitars– tired of the low E string flapping around like a rubber band and rattling all over the place? Try these strings. The low E is much thinner than most sets but doesn't lose any beef (IMHO).I'm not old, I'm Vintage.
These strings are awesome, not because of Jimi or the Voodoo thing but because for many years Fender stopped making this gauge. They were called 150 silver bullets back then and were my string of choice that became unavailable. Old sets were usually lightly corroded and unusable. Fender fixed that by finally corrosion proofing the packaging. Originally I bought these to use on my Fender Telecaster but these are now on my Les Paul, Stratocaster and my Epi. the price point made me try them, the feel and sound will keep me using them.warloc_frazmtn
11. Dr Strings Tite Fit Meh-13 Mega Heavy Nickel Plated Electric Guitar
Product Details:
Dr's most popular electric guitar string set! tite-fit roundwound nickel-plated electric guitar strings are designed to be a great all-around string available in a wide range of gauges. based on a round core, the construction techniques for the tite-fit electrics are very old. however, the core wire and wrap wire in dr's are the latest, most advanced and expensive metals available. use tite-fit strings for flexibility, tone, and long life. these guitar strings sound great for rock, blues, heavy metal, and jazz. gauges 13-17-26-36-46-56.
Specifications:

Reviews:
I went through two sets of these after my friend recommended them to me and boasted about how amazing they were. I had been using Ernie Ball Slinky sets and was still a fairly new player at the time, so I was trying to discover my sound. I put these strings on my Epiphone G-400. Tonally, the strings were pretty responsive and could really sing. However, I didn't like the fact that I had to crimp the wound strings due to the round core wire. It's just extra work, and I hate restringing as it is. Another problem: String breakage. Out of all the string brands I've tried, none of them have been as prone to breaking as DRs. Good tone shouldn't come at the cost of weak strings. Ernie Balls not only cost less, but their overall quality has been superior so far. Sorry, DR.
Bought these on a recommendation from a guy on YouTube and have not had any issues at all. I used Dean Markley Blue Steels for nearly 20 years, but due to lack of availability, was looking for an alternative. The individual who recommended them is a touring professional guitarist. I see why he uses them.Jason

I've used probably every kind of stings out there and always came back to these. And not just any les paul strings, the signatures. They are extra light on the treble end for bending and thicker on the bass side for more volume. Les picked these himself and they will make any cheap guitar sound good. They are so smooth you will be amazed. Many strings I play with feel like sandpaper compared to these. And the best part is they come vacuum sealed so they have an indefinate shelf life, so stock up! I live in Key West and the humidity kills everything except these. I will never play another guitar without these. Stock up!! You wont be sorryThaddeus-PGMWh
Strong in the bass and soft in the treble for bendsReviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Red silk stockings? Not the wrong review, stay here. These strings have a wound ball end dressed in red silk, just for show? NO they help anchor the string, they help to prevent slippage of the windings and they look fantastic. These strings are not cheap but you do get what you pay for. They sound great and have a high degree of corrosion resistance – I have never broken one. Apart from my Strats and my Tele I use these strings on all other guitars. If you have a guitar costing hundreds if not thousands of pounds why would you put cheap strings on it? They are getting very rare so buy a set now and try them.cerieds1957

Nie znam się ale gitara od razu lepiej brzmi , i wystarczy parę korekt po graniu , gitara trzyma strojenie
I got these strings today! I put them on my Epiphone Les Paul guitar all i can tell you is the tone was warm and the notes were so clear and open even with the gain up still wonderful and a joy to play. I fell like a got a new guitar and i was thinking about getting new pickups! Not anymore my guitar has the classis 57's pickups in my guitar that came that way and has the 60's neck as well. Now let talk about the string's playing on the finger broad was so easy it just fell good the never sounded and played like this before. For me i play rock and blue's. my amp i have is a Blackstar HT stage 100 mk2 with a 4×12 cab with vintage 30's. The amp gives me that vintage tone like a good old Marshall. Thanks sweet water i will be back of getting these strings for sure!

16. Dr Drop Down Tuning Ddt Electric Guitar Strings
Product Details:
Nothing drops like a spider from its web (drop or not!) the first thing you will notice about drs ddt strings is that they go right into tune and lock in. players say they are "so stable it is almost eerie." now you can stand and deliver in tune notes at lower pitch that are clean and clear. expect more and get more. change tunings and be surprised how ddts lock right in. be surprised how little adjustments you make. ddts deliver far more than just heavy gauges.

I have used these strings for 3 or 4 years now they're really good I chose them because of the size and I found out that they are awesome. Not one ever broke on me as I did expect the 10 to from the speed and pressure I used sometimes. My particular style is metal, the strings work great for that. They are highly pliable. I am a bender and the tuning I think does not go out too much after the stresses I place on the strings. I have used deep standard E standard C standard a also be dropped down tuning no problem with any of the strings at all the sound is crisp and clear it's not a muddy sound and it's not a tinggi sound from the strings like a steel Acoustic sound.Big Mac
These strings work pretty much as advertised. They let you tune absurdly low without sacrificing note clarity or integrity… not perfectly, but reasonably. They also stay in tune remarkably well with little to no breaking-in.Regular DR 10's can handle my guitar tuned down 1 1/2 steps with no problems, but anything beyond that is flub territory and intonation is out by as much as a full half-step. With the DDT 10's, I can go 3 steps down and they still sound tight. If you check with a tuner, the intonation isn't quite right, but the difference is negligible to the naked ear. It's hard to break a DDT string. They are noticeably tougher than your average set of 10's. The feel is quite nice at 1 steps and lower though. They're surprisingly easy on the fingers. You don't have to pick hard to get heavy attack. They just exude brutal tone.Their quality stands true to the DR name. Definitely worth a try if you plan on experimenting with extremely low tunings. They can make your 6-string sound like a 7-string… only it'll still feel like a 6-string!Strizzwald
I typically play a half step down, sometimes drop C#. Guitar I have set up for that was giving me some occasional open string buzz in drop C#, but I didn't wanna go to a higher gauge because I like to be able to go to E standard once in a blue. Took the Daddarios off, put these on. Boom. Problem solved. Also very stable tuning wise and feel great overall. Thumbs up!Dustin J.

Reviews:
I had been using 0.13 baritone strings on a 25.5 scale Ibanez 6 string and never could get it to intonate well if I went lower than b standard. With these strings I can get it to Ab standard or Drop F# while still maintaining an almost perfect intonation. Plain steel 3rd isn't my Forte, but it works.Barry Baritone
I got these strings hoping to tune to Dropped-C or Dropped-C#. They get tight at Dropped-B. If you plan on using them for Dropped-A (anything lower than that is just ridiculous), Dropped-Ab, or Dropped-B, these are good for that. The lowest string tends to sharpen when played on the frets higher than the 7th though. Otherwise they're fine, and it takes FOREVER for any of the strings to die. I've had them for 4 months and they still play just as well as they did when I got them. The sound is great… just get them if you plan to tune really REALLY low.
these sound incredible at the B and A range. Particularly A because they are so thick. I dont play in F but they still hold tune and tension amazingly. They sound sharp and are very lively strings. Im going to try the 10-60 next week. the 65 gauge is a little to big for versatility. I plan on buying a third guitar and that will have these strings designated to it.Reza

Reviews:
These strings are absolutely fantastic for a FULL humbucker guitar (Les Paul or SG). Would not put them on single coil guitars though (Stratocaster or Telecaster). They are a lot brighter and tinnier than Pure Nickel. From this point on, these are all I'll use on my Epiphone SG….sound great and last a long time without losing their sound.White Dog
Really like these strings. Good intonation and stay tuned after many bends.Jack
Use it as my primary.Sonny
