I recently replaced a 5 watt Roland cube street with the more powerful cube street EX. I was disappointed that the EX did not come with Roland JC setting. The clean setting on the EX produced a sterile, cold sound that I warmed up nicely with the Behringer tube modeler. This was my only reason for purchasing this pedal. I have occasional use for a battery operated amp and this pedal allows me to get the warm tones that I require.Richard

Case is plastic to evidently help with cost. With the cost of musical equipment any help is great. I take very good care of equipment so I do not "stomp" on them. Pedal has quality sounds that seem to work within relm of eq'ing. This pedal has it's own drive built in although a bit sensitive. Take your time and you can dial in some quality tones and sounds. I play lots of various music ranging from southern, blues and Christian rock and have been able to fine something nice that works with each style or genre. Again the pedal controls seem a little sensitive so take your time when you start with the pedal. I enjoy expermiemting so this facet is a-ok by me. Over all good pedal.Bo L.

I wanted a button to make me louder for solos etc. and this does exactly that without changing tone. Brilliantly simple: set how much volume jump you want and that’s it, I don’t think I have had the dial past 25% so far. The ‘latching’ function of the foot switch is a great idea. This pedal does exactly what it claims and does it better than other pedals of the same purpose. It is constructed extremely well. For around $50 this pedal's physical casing and switch assembly is made better than pedals I own costing hundreds of dollars more. I don't foresee this pedal ever needing replacement or repair. I'm not particularly fond of the "momentary volume boost" feature but that doesn't change my overall opinion. It's a great item.ethan1957

I purchased this one pedal to be all the pedals I don't want to buy as single units. I have an extensive pedal collection but I have grown tired of hauling around a pedal board filled with effect units I only use every now and then. I decided that a good way to remedy that would be to add a pedal that could function as simple delay, reverb, boost, and modulation. I have greatly reduced the amount of pedals on my board thanks to this unit. The weakness of the VOX Stomplab IG is in the distortion/overdrive/amp selection. I didn't find any that I found pleasing to my ears but I didn't expect to. I did find a few low gain overdrives that were acceptable but nothing I loved. I intended to keep my overdrive and distortion pedals my board anyway, so I wasn't worried about it. The compressor is solid, but a bit noisy. The delays and reverbs are quite good and I consider those alone, worth the price tag. my pedal board is now just a few choice pedals and the VOX stomplab IG serving as single and multi effect pedal. I am trying really hard to like this. With regards to the preset effects, some 9fnthe sound pretty good. But some of them, it's like they are non existent or pretty horrible sounding. The other issue is you are supposed to bypass the effects. But of you do, your volume reduces so significantly that I either have to turn up the volume on the amp, or disconnect this thing all together and connect directly to amp. The last issue is that creating your own defects is pretty hard to understand. The instructions are not very helpful and it is pretty hard to understand the abbreviations used on the box to figure out what effect you are working with. Oh btw, you have to hold the power button down for a couple of second for it to turn on. If you don't it will seem it is not working. So, this thing is not horrible, but the verdict is out as to whether it is something that will end up collecting dust in a cornerJohn, G

I have an Xotic AC Booster and it is one of my fav pedals. At the start of my chain – after the buffer – I have a Compressor, then an old DOD Preamp 250, followed by my AC. I like the sound, but had this setup for a while and was just looking to shake things up. I thought the RC ver 2 would be a great replacement for the DOD as what could be better than 2 xotics in series? Well, not this! The Comp (Wampler Ego; another pedal I like alot) did not play well with the RC. The sound was muddy and lost all definition. The RC alone was OK, but not great. Found the effect of Gain 1 to be pretty darn subtle and really not much better than my old DOD gain pedal. Had to crank RC Gain 1 to full CW to hear much – a very different pedal from the AC which is super responsive. I also found the adjustment for the RC Gain 2 pot to be very awkward for a quick adjustment onstage as is occasionally necessary between songs. So, I was pretty bummed out as I love the AC and I use an Xotic EP booster for regular lead boosts. Just did not work out for me. Hard to decide if I would recommend the RC. Personally, I am very picky about effects, usually use only 2 at most at one time (e.g. Comp + AC; EQ + Delay, etc.) . So I think i would say that I do not recommend…but you may like it.BCY123

I'm surprised at how much I use this pedal. I bought it to boost the signal of passive basses and it does that and a lot more. The EQ points are right where you need them. And because you can preset those as well as the volume, when you switch to a passive bass in the middle of a live performance there is no time wasted fiddling with knobs trying to match the sound of your active bass. Also it's useful as a clean boost on active basses for those times when your hands are busy and you can't adjust your amp in the middle of a song. Just pre-set the pedal to a little boost and any time you need it, you've got it with a quick stomp of the foot. The third use I find for this pedal is with effects. You can use it to put a little boost before any overdrive/distortion pedal it will increase the gain. I love this because I like the sound of the Morning Glory pedal, but it doesn't get quite dirty enough. Most pedals that get as dirty as I want don't sound the way the Morning Glory does so this is perfect for me. And the other way it's useful is to add bottom end to distortion pedals (which are famous for not supporting the low end very well). Preset a little bass boost and when you stomp the overdrive/distortion pedal also click on the Xotic RC.PDGood

It arrived a few days ago from MF. I want to highlight what I like about it without repeating the contents of its manual. Bottom line, for my usage replacing a Fender black panel Deluxe, a spring reverb, and a Tube Screamer, it is excellent. I am using the Vibro King amp model for most of my tweaking, but I also set up the Twin Reverb (super clean), Super Reverb, and Marshall JCM800 (crunch even with the guitar volume relatively low). The Twin model would not distort without a boost included in the "scene" even with my guitar and the model volumes at 10. That was the one anomaly from my expectations. I like the Vibro King model, amplified by my QSC CP8 (on the floor, on its side, backside EQ set to floor monitor), and do not prefer my now sold Tone Master Deluxe. The first thing I did was download the 2022-10-31 Firmware update and install it. Instructions to put the pedal in "DFU" mode to accept the update were missing. A YouTube video found via Google explained to hold both foot switches while powering up. Next, I installed the main NuX App for my Mac. I disabled the third "scene" such that the "scene foot switch" becomes a "scene" toggle (one cleaner, one with the Tube Screamer engaged, both with spring reverb). I then went through the amp models I planned to use (two "scenes" each, which must be done individually) and set all the controls to 12 o'clock. I tweaked the amp, spring reverb, and Tube Screamer to taste. I now have three ways to boost for an overdriven solo starting with the Vibro King as my clean base: turn up the guitar, foot switch to the Tube Screamer "scene", or foot switch to the JCM800 amp model. I explain all this detail because it took about an hour and without this work the pedal is disappointing. The software was almost easy enough to use without the nonexistent manuals (to do it again it would take much less time). Once done, everything can be adjusted via the knobs and optionally saved with the left foot switch. No menus to navigate at a gig. You can see in the pictures that it is quite small (Tube Screamer for reference), weighs exactly 1 lb. (less than that Tube Screamer), and draws only 3 watts. Leaving it run over night only gets it to room temperature. My old HX Stomp would have been hot to the touch and required a 20-watt power supply. Is it a Universal Audio quality Twin Reverb, Super Reverb, JCM800, or Vibro King modeler? Impossible for me to know. But for what I want, a classic black panel 60s Fender amp tone, spring reverb, and foot switchable Tube Screamer, it is a complete solution in a small package. No aspect of IO is missing (XLR, USB-C, ¼", 3.5mm, MIDI over USB). It also has an effects loop, graphic EQ, all the usual reverb types, 1024 IR loader, a selection of boost/overdrive/compression pedal models, and a noise gate which I've not tried. If one of the amp models is acceptably flat response you could use its 1024 IR loader, reverb collection, and compressor collection for your acoustic guitar too. Wow! What's missing? For my usage a master volume not associated or saved with an amp model "scene" would be nice. It does make a click when switching amp models or "scenes". Sometimes when switching amp models there is a noticeable delay.Jon

I bought this used through Guitar Center to boost the output of my Eastman 815 acoustic-electric mandolin, which has an internal microphone but was too quiet. I'm a hobbyist but play in worship settings. I was able to EQ the output to sound like the natural mandolin tone and to boost the volume which was important to me, since, on occasion, I play outdoors or in a large church sanctuary. The tuner is a great asset, making clip-on tuners unnecessary. The tone boost gives the mandolin even more volume for those times when you want to play a solo. The unit runs on a 9V battery or a 9v DC adapter. I happened to own already own a 9v DC adapter, and it gave the unit much more power than the battery, which was great. I definitely recommend getting a 9v DC adapter. This was a good buy!Jamie

Needed a reverb pedal as my recent amp purchase, Marshall Origin 20H does not have onboard reverb. Decent sound from subtle to cavernous. AN expression function on the switch adds more versatility. As a professional recording engineer I've been familiar with TC Electronic for decades. I've used TC Electronic gear for a long time in the studio and have always found it to be the best of the best. However, as a hobbyist guitar player I was not as familiar with TC pedals as I was with pedals by other manufacturers (MXR, Dunlop, Boss, Ibanez, etc…). I've been looking for a good reverb pedal to run in my FX loop because the reverb built into the amp is pre FX Send and since I play with tons of gain I have a gate (TC Sentry – also amazing) in the FX loop and the gate was cutting off the reverb tails. I considered a variety of Reverb pedals but ultimately decided on the TC Hall of Fame 2 for several reasons. First, TC knows reverb, their System 6000 reverb is 13,000 without the remote, 15,000 with the remote. And they are using algorithms from the System 6000 in the Hall of Fame 2 – pretty cool. Additionally, with Tone Print capabilities you get unlimited preset options and the ability to design your own Tone Prints. This is an incredible powerful and amazing sounding pedal. If you are looking for a good practice amp modeler that is compact and has quite an array of effects and amps than the Pocket Pod should do the trick. I gig regularly and felt the Pocket Pod would be ideal for gigs where I didn't want to haul my tube amp around. Sound wise I'm not disappointed in hooking my pocket pod up to a sound board. However, where this product ultimately fails is there is NO On/Off switch! To activate the pod you plug your guitar directly into the input jack and it comes on. Once on you pretty much have to leave the guitar plugged in for your entire set or risk getting a loud pop through the PA system. And leaving the pod plugged in makes the pod get very warm and drains your batteries. I have a circuit breaker guitar cable so I can switch guitars without getting the dreaded pop in the PA system. I'm sure the people at Line 6 cut out the On/Off feature to save room. But I've never seen any piece of equipment that can't be turned off with a button. Satisfactory sounds but more headaches than it's worth for gigging musicians.O'neil Blues

The g system sounds better than any multi effects unit that I've ever used. The notes just seem to ring with more clarity than I can remember hearing in other units and the tone is great. Practically zero noise when used with good cables. The build is incredible ; it's heavy and feels solid. i have it plugged into a Marshall dlc40 and it sounds incredible. The addition of the Boss style adaptor plug was a very welcome modification. The indicator light is cool as well. Both were absent in earlier versions of this classic overdrive. I've owned all versions of this pedal, including the original grey and yellow pedals. This is a nice take on them and the lighter weight casing appears to be aluminum. The originals and later reissues used a cast material that was heavy and was a bit of overkill for such a simple circuit. This is a great alternative to those. The circuit has a tendency to be a little bassy especially as the gain is increased. It lends itself to single coil guitars very well(yngwie) but works great with humbucking pickups as well. One of my all time favorite over drives, and I own them all. Stacks well with other pedals. Everyone should try this one, it rips.Duke

I'm in an acoustic jam group and needed some extra punch for my vintage Guild D-40 so it didn't get swallowed up when taking solos. Running a Fisher soundhole pickup through a 25W Danelectro solid state amp just didn't do the trick, but adding this does. I set it very clean with the gain dial at its lowest setting and the level up, using the eq on the Danny to brighten up the highs. A very natural sound, not like through the mic, but good for my purposes. With the gain up a bit, the added sustain on the low end was a pleasant surprise. The LED light is so bright, I'll never forget and leave it on. My one complaint so far is the changing the battery involves unscrewing four screws and taking the back off — why not build it with a slide-open compartment? When I hooked it up to my Tele, it took a little tweaking to get the setting right, but it produces a nice gritty sound. For the price, I'm happySwampy

I've tried to make this work. Bought it because it was cheap and I was building an affordaboard. Not sure where the problem lies but the bass gain is huge and the mid notch adjustment has a pretty good range as well. I don't really think there's anything wrong with it per se, but I just couldn't get it to sound good. I'm a singer/songwriter and my acoustic has to fill a wider frequency spectrum than if I was playing with a full band. This just didn't work for me. I saved and got the NUX Optima Air and it is amazing, albeit 5 times as expensive.Estaban

i recently had my '72 Martin D-35 restored by the factory. It is better than new and I applaud the job they did. However, in that era, acoustic-electrics were rare. Sometime in the '70s, I installed a Barcus-Berry pickup. It was a glued on transducer that pushed a very weak signal.to an amp or PA. In order for it to be useful, a pre-amp was necessary. I have owned both Barcus Berry and Fishman pre-amps to boost this guitar. Given the fact that I haven''t played that guitar in public since 2004, and have moved twice since then, it was no surprise that I could find them. Looking for a low cost alternative, I decided to risk the money in bonus cash on this AD121.. It was more than I had hoped for. Electronics have come far in the past 40 years. I got the unit to boost the signal, not for the effects, but this allows me to tune the sound to what I want. It even works pushing a Fender Tele straight into a PA. I couldn't be more pleased.Walter L

Instructions given on a card about the product is brief, some explanations or functions are just not too well described. I connected an acoustic guitar with a Fishman pickup fixed to the sound hole of my guitar and connected to input channel and connected the output channel to a Roland's Cube 20X amplifier. With all set up normal no differences could be heard. I purchased this product for recording guitar sound on Garageband on a Macbook pro. Signal amplitude was no different to connecting guitar without this pre-amp. It failed to raise the output to the line level. I will not use a pre-amp with guitar in futurefunt21

The only way to get to a specific set of effects is to click up/down one at a time. This forces you to activate and deactive each effects set on the way to the one you want. For studio stuff, this is OK, but for live performance, there are terrible sounds emitted by various setting modes. Don't buy this for live performance unless you only want to program one or two effect mixes. The volume out of some of the settings is way too loud and makes terrible sounds as you are stepping through to a desired effect. Quality of the effects is pretty low – lots of hiss and noise with most of the effects.atglabs

My amplifier has an upgraded sound and response when I use this Diezel Herbert Two Channel Overdrive and Preamp Pedal. I am wondering if it may become dependent of its usage. Because, it is like dope for your amplifier. That is how good it is.Honest-John

I've had the herbert preamp for several months now and I'm very pleased. The distortion is tube like and warm in texture. My signal chain schecter with active pickups to my overdrive to the preamp into the power section of my tube head. I use this preamp mainly for metal, but had a good blues tone when I dial back the gain.Chris P

Run it thru the fx loop return of a tube amp and it’s the closest you’ll get to the relay thing without having to spend 3k. The normal channel is the lower gain setting of the two and the mid cut channel is sheer brutality. I wish it had separate gain parameters, but that’s my only real “complaint”.killer pedal!Joe
