Overall: In a YouTube review of this guitar, there was one guy that said he didn't understand why any experienced and knowledgable guitar player would want THIS guitar over something more high-end (i.e., a "real" Eclipse), because of the differing body design features. I, myself, am not anything of a virtuoso player, nor do I have the fattest wallet at the moment, which is why I settled on something more in the midrange for my first relatively decent guitar. I've been playing for years, writing songs on "piece of crap" guitars, and it didn't matter to me that my instrument was nothing to show off when that's all that I was using it for (i.e., to write songs). Before I am an instrumentalist, I am a vocalist and songwriter… but I digress. Anyhow, coming from someone that has a limited span of what truly "decent" is in this department, I, personally, found this guitar to be worth the price. I am not the most knowledgable about guitars, no, but I know what feels right to me as a player. This one is pretty nice. The body is lightweight and thin without feeling or looking cheap or flimsy, and the playability is fantastic. There is little strain on your fingering hand due to how easy it is to press the strings down, unlike on cheaper guitars. Had I learned to play on this one, I would have been totally spoiled! Maybe like that guy with the YouTube review. Haha. The sound is nice and crisp… and the color is beautiful. I went with the Cobalt Blue, because it matches with my room. I have no complaints about it, under the circumstances. It is everything that I needed it to be. The available payment plan was the cherry on top. Just two more payments! IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! It was on backorder. It took round-a-bout 5 months to get it in my eager hands. I bought the Purple Burst version. What their online photos do not properly convey is that the back and the neck are purple as well (how purple depends on each guitar-having seen two in person). The 1st appeared almost black in most lighting. The 2nd is defiantly purple but when photographed there is a color mismatch between the back and front that is NOT noticeable in person (see photos) This is my first Les Paul body style and my first guitar with split coil capability. The jumbo frets are awesome. I haven't been playing long (2-ish years). They cut down on my mis-fretting. The ease & sound of bending the strings + the sound of the pick-ups are more than I was expecting. The neck is super slim. I have size S/M woman hands. I love the size. There is not a lot of stretching to reach around for the low end strings. The neck also has a lovely coating that allows me to slide up and down easy without sticking- if you have played a matte coated neck, you know what I mean. The fret board and the inlays are leveled out very well but the fret board was a bit thirsty when I got it. A fret board oil & cloth buff were all it needed. The frets are very well placed & filed (no snags or fret spouts). The "Set-Up" was really good straight out of the box. The string height was set really well. Low enough (esp. at the nut) that It was not a finger killer to fret but there was no fret buzz at any frets when playing. The intonation was pretty spot on as well. Took slight adjustment when it got new strings (mostly at the Low E and A). The top pick-up was a touch high for my taste but if that is the worst I can say… The neck was straight and ready to play. The tuners work well and I love the keystone buttons on them that match the headstock style. It is heavier than I expected 7.5lbs- 8.4lbs. To sum things up, I cannot believe I got this beauty for this price point.Elaine, K
Sound: I haven't even got far enough to plug it in the action is so buzzy that is why i do not recommend this guitar. If it was set up to playable i would probably like it. You can feel a feel a few fret edges, but nothing horrible. That i would expect for a guitar in this price range, but for it to show up completely unplayable is unacceptable. Value: The way it arrived no. Overall: I have always liked ESP products, but today i am disappointed. This guitar arrived today and is unplayable. The neck has got a back bow and all the strings buzz horribly. The strings are hitting on the back of the bridge after the saddle because the tail piece was screwed all the way down to the body. If ESP did this they should be ashamed, if zZounds did this they should be ashamed. Not sure who set this guitar up? I'm going to try to fix it tomorrow wish me luck. If i can get to stop buzzing and to play decent i may keep it, if not it's going back. It is a pretty guitar and aside from the atrocious setup seems to be of decent quality.Shawn

Overall: Ok this the SEW 751 without the DiMarzio pickups. I've got two Fender Strats and in my opinion the necks are the big difference here. Mine arrived with a great factory set up. I've bought Ibanez guitars in the past with just unplayable setups from the factory. The pickup's are outstanding clear clean an bright. Add a little dirt and your in heaven. If your a bedroom player this guitar is just about all you need. (Fender Smender) Guitars have come along way in the last 40 years. The Pink is Killer it's more of a Lavender Purple that nobody else has. Just buy one.
This Ibanez guitar is a very versatile instrument,I play different styles on the same gig and I can do the all show without changing guitars.Now,the guitar doesn't come with a low set up if you like low action but after a set up is very easy to play,pick ups aren't the best but I had no issues with them.In general fells solid instrument and very versatile,great value off the money invested and AMS went above and beyond to get it to me quick enough.Ive been a pro touring musician for 38 years and I can recommend this Ibanez,at the end it's on your fingers to make it shine more than anything.

I bought this guitar as a mod platform. As such, some of its stock faults, while present, simply don't matter. Top to bottom: Tuners suck, swapped them within hours. Nut is plastic, will replace with my first GraphTech nut. Neck is very thin, very nice. Frets are a mixed bag, as they may need very little leveling or polishing, but the fret ends are the sharpest I've ever seen! Pickups sound surprisingly good, though I'm only barely tempted to keep them. Bridge is maybe okay, swapped it first thing. I should mention that the stock bridge was decked. This is no problem with an old campaigner like me, but a beginner would have frustrating problems with it. This is my first guitar with a conical ("compound") fretboard radius! Never knew it could feel this good! If you're buying one for a rank beginner, either set aside money for a good setup or find your newb some good lessons in maintenance on YouTube.Edwin
Great guitar for under $200 , got this for reduced price because of very faint blemish on the back of the body. This is my second Jackson , also have the Rhoads JS32 V. Been wanting this one for a while , it sounds and plays great. The tuners are fine and I lowered the action to my liking and have no fret buzz , none on my other Jackson either. These are solid guitars and build is great for the price , they're comfortable to play especially with the thin necks. They come pretty well set-up right out of the box unlike others in the same price range , the JS22 is right up there with some of my more expensive guitars , great tone and sustain. I play for a hobby and have several guitars and this is up there with my Schecter and Ibanez , this is a great guitar for a beginner or experienced player and also a nice addition to your collection. I've bought other guitars in this price range that were a mess and needed a complete set-up , for the price you can't go wrong with Jackson!Mike G.
Overall: This guitar is a real sleeper. The neck is just so nice to play really amazing and it balances really well. I have two of them when I get them I just rip out the electronics and put all new stuff. They play great out of the box though and you could use to pick up some electronics that are in them until you decide to get better stuff. The fundamentals of the guitar are almost perfect something about the angled headstock make it so the strings have just the right amount of tension on them and it plays great. The downside of this is that it doesn't come back into tune as well as a strat style headstock but since I don't use the tremolo much or even at all sometimes this doesn't bother me. I love the caramelized Maple neck it has a great feel to it the other one I have is rosewood and it's also awesome.John

. Now let me set the scene… I am a guitar lover (I can even play a little too) and a quality professional so My expectations are somewhat higher than most looking at this product. An absolutely beautiful instrument, this is my second SA360 and although they are no longer. Made in Japan, be assured they have not lost any of the build quality or attention to detail. The guitar was really well set up, is great to play, feels good in the hand and sounds the bee’s knee’s. If you are looking to start out in guitar playing get yourself an Ibanez Gio to start as a first upgrade from that, then the SA series is where you want to be at.Timbo
Overall: For 100 bucks less than a Japanese made RG550 I'll say the quality of this Indonesian assembled guitar is sub-par albeit correctable. All hardware was loose. Blase switch wast rubbing against finish. Tone and volume pots were pushed down into contact with body. Gold playing on bridge pick-up shows nickel plating already. Action was set so low that it was unplayable. Some frets are razor sharp at the edge of the fretboard. Neck and fretboard are dry as a bone, and need to be sanded and sealed. The grain was raised when I unboxed. Which basically tells me that there was very little if any polyurethane applied to the neck or fretboard. As with all Indonesian guitars ai take this as an opportunity to fix these little things on my own, but you are better off getting an RG550 Genesis. The quality is far superior. Also the paint is awful, and the plating on all gold plated surfaces are sure to deteriorate quickly. One note: Sounds has nothing to do with these inadequacies or defects. Ibanez should just seize operations in Indonesia, as should all other guitar manufactures. Indonesian guitars are ok enough to correct, but even at the 800 dollar mark you should get a 100% gigable axe. This is not at that level.
I've owned this guitar for a year. I own more than a few Ibanez, with about half of them being Prestige and the others being 80's/90's Fujigen Ibby's, 2010's Iron Labels and Premium. I love this RGA and it's remarkably well spec'ed for most anything a diverse player will want. What it isn't: it isn't a prestige and it doesn't feel like it. That's not a bad thing; the roasted maple neck is amazing, feels comfortable, but the fingerboard does feel a little different (given the wood type). The only real negative I find is that the finish (the actual finish) feels like it's very delicate. I can see this finish cracking easily with an everyday bump. I hang my guitars and pull them just to record, so not a n issue for me, but it definitely feels very delicate. The only other reasonable complaint is that for the pricepoint, it should include at least a gig bag. This is basically a 1,000 dollar guitar.

In stock this guitar deserves no more than 3 stars but I can give it 4 because you can really work with it and upgrade it to become a better sounding instrument. The tremolo is not very good but it works fine and gets the job done. It can go out of tune easily if not set-up properly. The tremolo on mine deteriorated over time and has now been destroyed but that's not a problem for me as I will upgrade it. The pups aren't bad but they aren't good; you get what you pay for. Other than that it is an okay instrument for practicing and learning specially if you're a Metallica fan boy. The thin U-neck is very comfortable and the jumbo frets make it easy to play but there are way better guitars out there for the price.TheHomieDavid
Great build quality, action didnt need much adjustment, frets are not scratchy as often new ones are. Floyd rose trem is fine, but have replaced springs with noiseless ones; top locking nut needed a little fettle so it didnt click at full trem arm depression. Screws on back plate had a little rust, which would suggest at some point it was stored in a damp environment……. but apart these little issues, a great guitar …… now to replace the stock pickups, as they are a little muddy and i like an EMG set…. thats just preference!!!Reviewed by Absolute Music custo

Never played a seven before (20+ guitar owner) and actually was looking more towards a 6-baritone. But cripes, the sale price and hearing about how nice Jackson was making stuff…? Pulled the trigger. Still not too sure what the heck I am doing, but having a great time with it. Maybe I AM a nu-metal head after all. Regardless, it is fun to play. I was amazed that the fret ends weren't garbage, the they needed a bit of a polish, but were otherwise really nice. With the specs like carved top, compound radius, neck reinforcement (I think?), and maple board, the value is incredible. I'm a sucker for maple board too, really wish I wasn't, but I am and this thing is cool. Am I gonna play it all the time? No. But I might play it every day for a bit. Was really impressed with the pickups as well. Figured it would be a mud bath. Maybe the B gets more lost than I was expecting, but was way more articulate overall that I was expecting. I am assuming ceramics, and zero hangups about that. Cons: The tuning machines are poop. If you change direction, expect a 1/4 turn before anything moves. I mean they are pretty poor. And since it is a seven string, that is a touch more complicated to replace.Josh G
Got this guitar to get back into shredding again. Hadn't played metal since the early 90s and shredding is a good way to keep the arthritis from destroying the joints in my fingers and wrists. For the money, this is an overall great guitar. It does what I want it to and that's what matters. The only real gripe I have is the tuners. This is a guitar I can do a lot of mods on and not worry about lowering the value. For those who are beginners, this guitar is an excellent choice to get started on. For those who want to get into shredding – or get back into it as I am – you can do so without breaking the bank. This instrument is not on par with an American made Fender or Gibson but it will most certainly do the job it's designed to. A great buy!Chris S.
The Jackson JS22 Dinky is the best Sounding, and the best feeling guitar I own. I have used Washburn, Schecter, and a few more brands, but this one felt and sounded the best in my opinion. It has sharkfin inlays, amaranth fretboard, and the Jackson speed neck. My only complaints is that the stock tuners suck, and the pickups could be better, but still good enough for some Slayer songs. But get locking tuners. I will see if I can get some Seymour Duncan Invaders, or EMG H4 Pickups.Kawliga
8. Ibanez Artcore Ag75 Electric Guitar Brown Sunburst

Ibanez has made a real name in the archtop game of recent times, offering a wide variety of instruments for beginners to absolute marvels of builds. the ag75 fits into the product line nicely as an elegant, well-playing and affordable instrument, suitable for any beginner, or as a secondary instrument for an intermediate player. this one, although used is in great shape with only small superficial blemishes. the guitar looks, plays & sounds great – punching much higher than others in it's price point. currently set up with 10 gauge flat wounds, the guitar also has a nice straight neck with low action (5/64" at the 12th fret). there is hardly any fret wear, and the instrument sings in every register, the guitar keeps in tune, but could use some new bushings for the tuning pegs. an excellent inexpensive jazz-box! no case.

I bought the AG95 from MF about two months ago and like it a lot. I have over a dozen guitars but this is my first hollow body. My cousin (who doesn't play) remarked how classy it looks (next to a GLP Studio and Martin acoustic). I closely inspected it for manufacturing/production flaws, but found none. The binding and finish are clean, even, and neat. The neck seems to be straight and the frets (and ends) are smooth. The neck feels like it is between a (2014) Gibson LP Studio and Traditional with very low action. It also stays in tune well. I did make some adjustments to my taste. I lowered both pickups as they seemed nearer the strings than I would like and raised the bridge height a little. This had no apparent affect on its easy playability, but did seem to lessen the output. It now produces very nice clean tones through a small Marshall amp with a little bit of "quack" with the volume knobs at 9/10. The tone can also be easily altered via the pick up selector and tone knobs. This is a very beautiful guitar with the gold hardware against the dark bubinga. I was torn between this and the FM and QM versions. All my research indicated Super 58 pick ups on this one and Super 58 Customs on the FM and QM versions. I can't verify if this is so, but whichever it is – they sound very nice. A word of caution – there is packing foam under the floating bridge. I loosened the strings a little until I could remove the foam without moving the bridge.C-Ville Brent
The AG95 is a smaller bodied / hollow body guitar. And, as such, is a featherweight compared to some more well-known solid body or semi-hollow body guitars. However, the pickups pull that mid-range out so distinctly and smoothly which allows you to add as much treble to the top, or bass at the bottom that you want to hear. It's a very comfortable to play guitar, and the coloring deserves a big round of applause for Ibanez. The downside (if this is a downside – nah) is that, as a true hollow body, it will cause some humming in a small setting. However, nothing a few dishtowels or rags stuffed in the f-holes won't fix! So, that's not really a negative factor, as most hollow bodies do the same, no matter how much you spend. All-in-all, this is a classy, comfortable, and beautiful guitar to play. And you can dress the tone up or down easily to your liking.jimbo210492
I really like everything about this AG75. I was pleasantly surprised. The pickups are very sensitive and responsive, over the full aural range, and with utmost clarity. The slim D neck and finely finished fretboard affords comfort with low and fast action! The overall body integrity is impressive with attention to detail. I have been playing it exclusively for three weeks, and like a good book, it's hard to put down! Makes hours of otherwise monotonous practice FUN and enjoyable again! Just a slight problem with "honking," but it was very easy to adjust it away with the pickup height adjusters. I prefer this over my other two Ibanez Artcore AF types, and they are fine as well. My highest recommendation, especially if you can buy it for under $500.00, total! Sounds and plays like a $2-Grand Gibson when set up and intonated properly.rgwhitlock

Guitar was not setup properly had to adjust everything. The cheap Vinyl that's glued on otter edge already pealing. When it arrived there was glue seeping from the edges, didnt realize until I touched it & ruined my $$60.00 gold plated strings. I replaced truss rod cover, junk. Knobs dont match/ugly replaced. Nut was junk, not cut right, made my own in my shop. The glue seepage awful. Removed cheap Vinyl treating guitar to remove exess glue, ridiculous. Huge scratch on back chip on rear bottom of neck where vynil was joined. For the 60th anniversary edition… Worst I've ever seen! My original 59 still looks plays and sounds fantastic. Cutting corners using cheap materials and trying to save money is no way to honor guitars from our past. Sound not that great but I'll have to replace some wiring & tuners as well. stuff to get it to sound halfway decent. I play in a Zeppelin tribute band at all the hotels and in Vegas, definitely not stage worthy! What a major disappointment. Way over priced. My appraisal $80.00 and that's being generous. Someone in the band said we should do one of those early 60's songs. I listened to it, and it clearly had that 12-string jangle so characteristic of the period. The best thing for that is a Rickenbacker 12-string, but I wasn't going to spring for that for just a few songs. So I zeroed in on a few possibilities, including this Danelectro, and the Dean Boca and the Ibanez Artcore in about the same price range. But the Dano is of course pretty much the exact same instrument that they made back then, and it is arguably better now than it ever was. It was always an inexpensive brand, but had the distinction that a lot of famous people played them. Therefore it has that "original vibe", like the Rickenbacker, but at a fraction of the price. So the Dano was the obvious choice, and I got this NOS version (No-S = no S or F hole which some other models have and the originals did). They say it is still made from Masonite, but you can't tell since it is completely painted and while the website says it is laminated, it is very light-weight. And it still has that textured plastic tape around the whole perimeter like it's supposed to have. The neck strap button is in an awkward location, so you may have to cut a piece off your strap to make it fit (I did, and I replaced my strap buttons with Schaller black strap locks). These guitars are made in Korea, and the build quality is excellent. I was afraid that I'd have get a setup, but the one I received has a fine neck with a nice rosewood finger board, has low action and plays easily enough (for a 12-string), so I'm going to leave it as is. The sound is great! It has that unique Dano sound because of the two lipstick pickups. It may be too bright when using the bridge pickup only, but the thing is you get used to the tone really quickly, so it may work just fine. It certainly will cut through the mix! It is louder when using both pickups, which is probably what I will use most of the time. In sum, I'm very happy with it! It will do!Willy
I didn't have high hopes for a 12 string electric at this price point, but I also couldn't resist, and WOW – am I completely satisfied! This guitar plays really well. It came with a good set-up and when I fine tuned it all the systems worked as they should. You can even adjust intonation on all twelve strings. Thus far the neck has been straight and easily adjusts to string or environmental conditions – I've given it a slight adjustment once it acclimated to my desert conditions and since it has been stable and true. Of course I should protect my guitar from the elements, and I bought a gig bag, but it stays out pretty much constantly and is used daily. This guitar is tons of fun. It easily does the Byrds style of 12 string sound. Also, I never knew just how many early Beatles riff where on 12 string until I started messing with this guitar. It's a blast. I own a Rick 6 string and have always wanted an electric 12. This Danelectro is great quality and great fun and it more than satisfies my itch (for now) at fraction of the price. Overall: Let's start at the top. I have never had a guitar with in house tuners that are this good. The charvel locking tuners are phenomenal. Very smooth and precise, every bit as good as any gotoh tuners I've used. The nut does what it's supposed to, I've not had any tuning issues due to friction when using the trem. The neck. My god the neck is fantastic. It's a very comfortable thin shape that works for me perfectly. It is very very close to as smooth as my strandberg. The frets are about the only thing that leaves a bit to be desired. They're polished and rounded very nicely, however there are sharp edges. Pretty much every fret, bass and treble side. It isn't to the point where it's uncomfortable to play, but noticeable. I absolutely love the spoke truss rod adjustment wheel, not that I've needed to use it. The neck joint is absolutely the most comfortable bolt on I've ever played. The pickups are fantastic as well, not super high output but the clarity is insane. Exactly what I was looking for. The gotoh bridge was probably my biggest surprise. I've never played a non locking trem that actually stayed in tune and even after abusing it like I would a Floyd, lo and behold, still in tune! It's very comfortable as well. The output jack placement is genius and is comfortable in any sitting position. It would be perfect for sticking the cable in between the strap and guitar. I know it's cliche, but the pictures do not do it justice. It is a stunning guitar. The satin burgundy mist is about the coolest color I've seen on a guitar and compliments the roasted maple neck perfectly. Overall, the fit and finish of the guitar, aside from the frets, is flawless. I would still 100% recommend this guitar to anyone. It would be a great guitar for any type of music you play.
Overall: Not much more I can add to what’s been said so far (hit or miss QA, super smooth neck, really nice finish, crazy number of sonically pleasing tones, premium components work great..); it really is an excellent guitar. The matte blue version of this guitar I received had a really janky and loose pickup selector switch, so I had it swapped out for the exact part used in the (*ahem* almost identical $3500!!!!) American version. The fret edges were finished smooth right out of the box, but it badly needed a setup. Once that was done, it was perfect. It’s almost effortless to access all of the frets. The tremolo is different than a traditional Stratocaster style 2-point trem in that it’s way more sensitive and much tighter and way more stable. The only issue I’m having with it is, because of where the volume knob is and my way of playing, I roll the volume down on accident quite a bit. Kinda takes the edge off of a solo when it’s fading out as it’s building up. Also, I’ll eventually swap out the no-load tone control for a conventional one. The stock no-load tone control works just fine to control the tone, but I don’t like the extra click when it’s dialed all the way up. And at this price it should come with a bag.
On paper, a pink strat style guitar with humbuckers would be the last guitar I'd want to play. However seeing this Charvel Pro-Mod Dk24 on the wall in it's sort of darker pink (burgundy mist) just caught my eye so I played it. I knew I found a real player's guitar. The color grew on me even more and the functionality was great. Humbuckers you can run as single coils with the 5 way switch is very practical. I didn't want to put it down. Super strats have always been very versatile but I've never dreamed of buying one just because I always found the styling to be extreme. However the color is kind of soothing. The neck didn't leave much of an impression but I think that there's something nice about not having to think about the neck. If it works and I don't have to think about it, so be it. Played rock through a little orange amp well yet it also sounded beautiful with a lush clean sound through a Fender Princeton. I think super strat type guitars are starting to come around to the market. Between the Silver Sky the PRS Fiore I think the more mellow color/designs with the versatility they've always had are making super strats more desirable to new guitarists. This one's a great one.G

Excellent craftsmanship! The neck feels really great. Had no sharp fret ends and the satin finish is top notch. It came with a really nice set up and low action out of the box. Electronics are really decent to. Bridge pickup got a bit muddy with heavy distortion, but did well under a crunch setting. Middle and neck positions were buttery smooth with clear differences in tone. The 3-way switch is excellent quality as well, which is usually isn't the case. Wiring is great, but I opted to switch it out with Emerson wiring harness anyways. Overall, you can't beat this guitar. I bought a Vintera 60s Jazzmaster before this one and I would pick this Squier over the Vintera any day..Diego
I'll second the review that says he'll leave her stock. I do like it as is as well, and I also hear Strat/Teleish sounds out of this thing. I thought when buying it would be a heavy rock type guitar not so it's very fender single coil like w/ out the hum… nice! I will say the amp makes loads of difference tube vs solid state. It sounds great through a tube amp and mehh through the other. Had some fret buzz that needed adjusted out but other then that I like it. It's a good buy in either color I'd say.👍🏼🤘🏼✌🏼Brado
I bought this guitar because I needed a backup for tour. I also did a lot of research and wanted something that was affordable, but had all of the bells and whistles that I needed. This guitar sounds amazing through my Boss GT100 pedal board. It’s super clean, but also has just the right OD when I need it. I would recommend this guitar to anyone. It’s super sleek, and the Hardware is black and beautiful. The pickups are fantastic. There are three setting to apply to your pickups. Each sounds great, and really all work for any sound you need. I’ve been playing for over 20 years, and I truly believe that although it’s the player that makes the instrument sound good, you also need a tool that brings it all together to make the magic take place. Rock solid, gorgeous guitar.

I will start by saying I returned the guitar to the store where I bought it after about 10 days. It took some time for me to discover some small scratches on the back and a torn "wrap" around the neck pick-up. I decided I had a "used demo" and not a brand new guitar. However, I liked the guitar very much over-all. The finish is beatiful and the tone also very nice. I was a little unsure about the amaranth fretboard playability even though the set up was perfect. When bending strings it seemed to be just a little sticky. Not a whole lot, but enough to make me think that rosewood or ebony is a better choice. I also found that I really didn't like the sharp pointed headstock. Barely room to attach a tuner. So I deduct one star because of these "issues" . All in all, still a very good guitar and probably perfect for just the "right" player.JIm
Love this guitar. Neck and quilted purple body finish is amazing, pickups sound better than I thought they would. They sound real nice for stock pickups. Now the Jackson Floyd Rose…works flawlessly. GC guitar tech put some cobalt ernie ball 10s and a small set up and "wow" what a difference that made. This guitar came out of the box mostly in tune and set up with 9s. Sounded great but now plays and sounds so much better. Floyd stays in perfect tune even after a lot of abuse. Very impressed with the guitar for sure. So glad I bought this!Don M
Play through my effects to Sheffield Bandit miked to my Marshall. Heavy thick sound, versatile for metal to 70's rock and some rock-pop. No malfunctioning or cracking/breakage- used heavily for 18 months now. With the medium frets no problem re-doing the frets as they wear further. After setting it up, with new strings and a bit of noodling then moving the tremolo arm a bit, the licensed tremolo stays in tune. I'm very particular with pitch and use the micro-tuners as needed anyway. But no problem getting through a tune in tune. But also I don't slam the tremolo hard, a tiny touch is all that is needed for 90% of metal anyway. Good fit for venues, etcetera. More than adequate. Rather not risk my Strat, SG, Jr. etcetera so there is that as well. Already bought a Jackson JS34, almost identical backup still in the box in case of loss of this one. Mod? I may later replace bridge pick up with a higher level one and neck pickup with a antenuator/sustainer is the only modification I'd do probably. Recommend? I got one of these in the Burgundy Mist color. It's a beautiful guitar! I was very interested in a Strat-style guitar with only humbuckers. I must say, that for the price, the pickups sound very good. I'm guessing swapping them out for Seymour Duncans or DiMarzios would be an improvement, but probably not a big one. So I'll keep the stock pickups. Unfortunately, out of the box, the action was WAY too high, the intonation wasn't even close and the tuners were unreliable, at best. I ended up getting a pro setup and swapping out the tuners for Fender locking tuners. That cost another $180. So the total price of this guitar ended up being around $460. But it's still a pretty good deal, compared to what you'd pay for a Fender version of this (around $1,900). This guitar, with the new locking tuners and pro setup, plays and sound very nice.Russell
The guitar I purchased passed my own multi-point inspection (weight, neck joint tightness with no gaps, action, vibrato functionality, smoothness, etc) with a much better subjective score than all the other much more expensive guitars that I had been auditioning for months and months before deciding what to buy, including some from prestigious brands . Not a fan of high output humbuckers, tonally, therefore I was already foreseeing changing pickups and pots/electronics any way. Tuners will also be upgraded. Regardless, this is an excellent chassis from which to build an excellent guitar that really works, and this is very cost-effective. To me this is much, much better than buying a vintage or boutique guitar, no matter the model, that is going to be undeniably overpriced simply because it unavoidably will need to be changed to suit my taste in different areas. Must say that I am not the typical guitarist who is constantly changing components due to perpetual dissatisfaction, but I know very well what I want in an electric guitar, long before i begin shopping for it. Pretty great guitar overall, especially for the price. The only issue I've had is some ringing on the G string when muting after strumming forcefully. It seems to be happening because of the angle of the strings going from the nut to the pegs, which is preventing the string from muting properly in that region. Changing the strings might fix it, but I just tied a ribbon around the G string upwards of the nut to attenuate the vibration. Overall: Cool nostalgic guitar , needed to do a set up out of the box didn’t take long until it was playin and I’ll still need to tweak it more . Mine showed up with two very small dings one on the headstock one on the body they are very small so I won’t send it back . Ebony board looks real dry so that’ll need work , frets seem ok but will need polishing. The neck plate was hit by the polishing wheel a bit hard so shows scratches not real impressed on that . Definitely change out the volume pot as it’s either off or on no in between.the pickups seem legit not bad but I think I’ll change to a full shred in the bridge like the original swans . The Floyd 1000 seems to work fine and hold tune but there is a cheapness about it . I’ll be changing it out to a German Floyd original. It’s light and well balanced easy to play . No case or even a gig bag at this price point I think Gibson should have included one or the other . I’m very hesitant to buy overseas made guitars as all of my others are USA made high quality , but at this price point I’d buy it again rather then spend $5k on a old beat swan . Overall: I purchased the polka dot one, always wanted one in the 80's but they were hard to find. So happy they reissued this model. Plays great, ebony neck is smooth & plays effortlessly. Floyd Rose is great stays in tune. Pickups sound amazing. I play alot of 80's hair metal & this is a great addition to my arsenal.
Overall: First off, the guitar is beautiful! Such a great looking instrument… unfortunately that’s where it ended for me. I will say in the 15 years of guitar buying and selling I’ve done, the setup on this guitar was the worst out of the box I’ve ever experienced. Ridiculously high action, way too much neck relief, pickups not adjusted correctly, and sandpaper rough frets. These are things that can be fixed with a full set up and fret finishing… odd that a new guitar has such rough frets though. The things I couldn’t live with that are making ship the guitar back for a refund; they sent me a left handed trem bar with a right handed guitar, and the neck has about 8 dents in the back that you feel as you play… like someone took a butter knife and just whacked the neck a handful of times. These are Fender's best kept secret for quality entry level guitars. I've been playing guitar for nearly 40 years and I own many guitars. These are Alder (body) and Maple (neck) for durabilty and tried and true tone. The pickups sound surprisingly good and no noise in the electronics. Btw, these are great to mod. If you know what you're doing, you can take an used Squire Affinity, mod it, and turn it into a guitar that that plays and sounds as good as any thousand dollar guitar. Fun guitars…great priceaxe541
After after 30 + years and many many strats over the years some of my favorite guitars have been Squires. But I would stay away from the Affinity series. They are poorly made, The Product coming out of Indonesia is far superior. I bought a Package deal for 80.00 That had not ever been used. It included an Champ amp the Stratocaster ( unplayable other then for a REAL beginner ) Chord, Strap picks, cleaning supplies. I sold the guitar for 90.00 The amp crapped out after about 4 months which annoyed me .Great practice amp with a headphone jack for my apt. Just get a reg Squire not an affinity. each. They are great guitars All you need unless your a Pro BUT if you can get a 20 th anniversary its is one of my favorite practice guitars. Squier Strats w/China maple neck is best neck/fretboard that plays and feels identical to my original vintage '59 Fender maple neck/fretboard. I change out the p/u's to Noiseless and its a player. Own 3 modified China maple neck/fretboard Squier strats (2 gold) and this black one. Fender would do well to duplicate these neck shapes/fretboards on their U.S. built strats.ro_rued

The SH 207 Is a well rounded 7 string for the price! Set up was pretty well on spot. Fret work is nice. No sharp edges, no dead spots or fret buzz. The electronics are solid also. And the pick ups sound pretty good. No imperfections that I have seen or noticed. The only complaint that I have is it could be a bit lighter. Its hard to see the purple burst its so dark. But for $600 its a solid 7 string that you should buy!Bryan

I have chronic back pain, and been playing in a jazz combo for about 10 weeks. To reduce impact on my back i decided to sw'itch tIo a lighter guitar than the Ibanez AF105 archtop hollow body I was using (which sounds great) . This guitar is much more comfortable for me to play, is several pounds lighter, but still delivers a great sound. The action is very easy without buzzing, the neck is thin enough for me to get my entire hand around, which is awesome since I don't have big hands, making the F shape a happy place. And stays in tune..very happy! Only change I made was to have flatwound strings put on, and and that made a huge difference from how it sounded on the wall. Really warmed it up.Howard
I played one of these yesterday in a related store, and it sounded good. I tried the Beatles' "She's A Woman" on it through a Vox "emulating" 2×12 amp, and it nailed it pretty well. The neck pickup rhythm part was solid and thick without being muddy, and the bridge pickup was twangy without being shrill, and sustained through all the notes in the Chet Atkins style "George" lead part. Pushed it right out in front like a cornet. I have 4 Gretsch guitars, all ElectroMatic – Red Sparkle Jet, Jet Jr. (P-90), Jet Pro II w/ Bigsby and the recent red w/ gold hardware Duo Jet, and I am happy with all of them – more twang than a Gibson, but fatter than a Fender, the Broad'Tron pickups deliver. Get the Bigsby adjusted properly and let the strings set in with the tuners and it should be OK. Bigsbys have to be set up right to work and stay in tune, but they CAN work well. I suppose seeing Steve Stills a week ago colored my argument, but I'll stand by it!Blues 90
It took me a month to get this due to Brexit delays but it was worth it, the guitar is beautifully built and sounds great. I never thought I would own a Gretsch but for this price its amazing. The only down side i would say on this guitar is the master volume , its either all or nothing , the volume doesn’t come in until its almost full on. Ill probably change that at a later date. The rest is perfect, all I had to do was tune it. It was set up quite low but can go lower if you want ,and the intonation was already perfect , so just plug it in and play it.

They did a wonderful job on the graphic! Build quality with set neck is very good. You might want to do some upgrades. The pickups and wiring are not very good. I replaced the pickups and rewired the whole guitar using shielded wire to cut down on the noise. I don't understand why they can't use shielded wire over in China – it can't be that expensive. i kept the pots (i did have to replace one), and surprisingly, the tone caps and pots work very well and I left them alone. I also replaced the tuners as the stock ones were cheap and slipping a bit. The guitar can be set up to play very well (you'll also have to replace the factory strings). The guitar has some weight to it and doesn't feel cheap. You can get all the LP tones minus a bit to sustain because the body is solid basswood (good and better than ash), and not mahogany. I very happy with mine and it looks and plays like a much higher end guitar. The graphic has an artistic look instead of the generic clean red, white, and blue you see on many flag guitars.circio
