I bought a used acoustic guitar for my son to learn on. I didn't realize exactly how much grime was on this guitar until I used this system. I wasn't happy with other methods of cleaning this guitar. I bought this kit to clean up a demo model acoustic bass that I just bought. The finish had been slightly worn in several spots and the neck was very dirty. This kit easily did the job. These products worked amazingly on my smudged, filthy, abused and neglected Oscar Schmidt classical that I bought for cheap, and turned it into a shiny like-new instrument. The spray bottle stuff works great. The fretboard oil will amaze you with what it can do to bring that old dried out fretboard back to showroom condition (or even better condition). The polish ("wax" type of stuff) I don't really care for too much, but I honestly don't like using any "wax" type of stuff on guitars or anything else frankly. After being disappointed with the results of a few other polishes, cleaners and oils MusicNomad was recommended, and I was astonished at the results. While it was not able to remove some of the yellowing on my older nitro cellulose paint the polish was able to remove swirls and other light scratches that I had been used to seeing on my 24 year old Ibanez from Japan. I used the polish from the kit along with the wax sold separately and have found it much easier to keep the fingerprints and shmegma that accumulates off the guitars. The F-One oil is amazing and stays around for a long time without the greasy feeling. The spray wax is best for maintenance after playing. A light mist on the great microfiber cloth and any hints of the last session are wiped away. I used the polish on the finish, but I also used it on the frets, lightly and they were even more smooth than they were, and they had just been polished via 2 ways, with fret eraser and #0000 steel wool. Used this to clean out my car's engine compartment fuse box. After a few winters in the snow and salt, plus a bad fuse box lid design, I had a lot of corrosion in there that had started to impact my electrical systems (headlights wouldn't work for example). After doing some research, this cleaner seemed to be the go-to product. So I took everything out and took out the fuse box. Some quick sprays with this stuff and some light scrubbing made a world of difference. It seemed to dry quickly, but I also hit it with some compressed air to speed things along. Put everything back in and replaced the bad fuses and now everything works great!K.I.
CRC Electronic Cleaner has been on the Market well over 40-years. That's how long I have frequently used it. It is the Best on the Market and is priced very affordably. Caution: Unplug any devices / components prior to use … Also Remove Batteries from portable Electronics. I have a lot of Electronic Components in and around my home. Auto Stereos, etc. too. CRC 5301 is an excellent cleaner for any electronic contacts and moving surfaces that my accumulate dust over time. I always use compressed Air [in a Can] to blow off dust … then use the CRC to deep clean the contact surfaces. I remove all of the knobs from my Home Theatre Equipment [remember to UNPLUG devices first] then Spray these controls from the front faceplate of the equipment … then unscrew the 4-6 outer cabinet screws … lift off cover … and sprat moveable knobs & controls from various angles. CRC dries fast. Replace Cabinet screws … reposition Component in its place … WAIT at least 15-minutes … then turn it on. VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE: When spraying items [small bursts] … make sure that you TWIST or MOVE the KNOBS / Switches in maximum up/down … left/right positions … and 100% rotate knobs back and forth several times. This will clean the contact surfaces like a Pro Technician.J.B.

Overall: I bought this kit hoping it would give a long lasting high gloss polish. Very sad to say that in fact it will polish somewhat, it does not last . Within a few days my frets were back to the oxidized look and bends were no better than before I used it. Honestly you need to start with about a 1500 – 2000 grit and work up to at least a 8000 – 12,000 grit like a micro mesh paper. You need to actually put some very fine scratches in the fret and work up to the 12,000….. then polish with this stuff. Then it's a whole different feel and much more of a long lasting smooth shine. Very disappointed. I hope zZounds will start to carry the micro mesh pads In the near future.Ron
Figured I'd take a chance on this fret polish kit. Boy, is this a great an easy kit for anyone to use. First off I would recommend having another cloth to use with this as when you use the polish it may end up on the fretboard imo. The three different size fretboard guards work great for any guitar you may have and are sized right so you don't get a lot of that polish on the fretboard.You may need to wipe off the guard here and there from the polish tho. Working the polish in is very easy and within a couple of swipes back and forth you can notice a big difference as the shine Comes back to life and the dirt comes right off. Mind you I haven't polished my frets in I don't know how long but let's just say a long time (years). I've notice a difference in my strings lasting longer,bending is easier and smooth and just moving around chords on the fretboard feel much better. Also my guitar looks a lot better with shiny frets, makes the guitar look newer. Great product! I'm going to stay on top of my frets from now on. Give it a try!Jim

It takes such little effort to shine those frets back to like new. The polish is great for light swirl marks from picks or other light mishaps. The detailer sprays add a nice depth and shine to the finishes. The included tools in this kit just make it a steal. From the brushes to specialized rags and cloths. One last note is that there are no harsh chemicals as it is all natural and has very little to no smell at all. If you haven’t tried their Amp and Case cleaner, I highly recommend it as well. I got this as a gift for my cousin who's a beginner guitar player and has already used it on his guitars and he seems to love it. My only complaint, as a guitar player of 14 years, is with the fritz ruler for measuring the string hight. It's use is very limited and isn't very accurate.David

So, I purchased this because I need a nice kit for setup. one thing to know is several items dont work for bass. Also all of the items are pretty cheap. In retrospect I should have gone online and purchased a leather bag and individually purchased the items needed to setup a bass or guitar. The flashlight is cheap, the screwdriver is bottom of the rung. The clippers are cool, they are spring loaded but also poor quality (doesn't want to click light gauge strings towards the tip. The multitool doesn't open well and it super cheap quality. It wouldn't even fit into the truss hole and it was the wrong size for my Ibanez… If it was the right size, I couldn't get it to work… so there's that. the best feature is the zip case. its the most well made part of the whole deal. very disappointing.SamuelPlayzon

The image shown is the older bottle that had a flat tip and porous felt that you rubbed directly on the fingerboard. This is a spray bottle. It leaked quite a bit during shipping, but it seems Musicians Friend knows that because they put it into a plastic bag. The label is coming off right out of the box since it got wet, and the stuff is semi-dangerous to handle. Not a great experience. The stuff works, though.Dave
Was hoping for the best when this was purchased, but this kit is just ok, nothing special. The neck cleaner worked pretty well, but not as well as naptha, and the conditioner didn't work as well as I had hoped, either. Have been using Luthier's Choice, from Gibson, but I have to buy polish, conditioner, and string cleaner as a set. I have enough of the conditioner to last 10 lifetimes now, so was looking for something I could buy when I needed it and not have to fill a cabinet with unused stuff. I'll stick with Luthier's Choice for the time being and give all my friends the spare conditioner for Christmas, I guess. Doubt I'll use the Dunlop kit again. I tried the Dunlop string cleaner as well. Don't care for it much. Smells like gasoline and doesn't work as well as the Gibson product, in my opinion. I'll keep looking.OlRokr
I bought this product to clean the fretaboards of my Fender Jag and Martin D-41. After the first use I can already tell that I am going to keep a bottle of this in my arsenal at all times. To my eyes the fretboards just appeared a little dusty but once I used this I was actually amazed by how much grime it was pulling off. To me, that speaks great things about the quality of this product. Anyone like me who believes a guitar should look as good as it sounds needs to use this!MB

Good cleaner and polish. It has more final wax protection than Dunlop 65. Works well on all glossy guitar finishes. A little goes a long way. Good value, although not cheap. I tried the rest, and this is what I use on my current Martin, vintage Guild, and other vintage guitars. JRjruing1
