It is weighted toward absolute beginners, but it does manage to progress to incorporate some material of interest to intermediate level players. It is respectful of the paragons, and includes some nice pictures of them. With funk, scales are a secondary concern. The vital thing here is the rhythm — reading and playing rhythmically.
