Double Bass Guitar Case For Sale (2024 Update)

What makes this case a bad design are the slot sections inside. The foam buckles, folds and breaks pretty quickly. This causes a situation where when you are removing or loading your guitar, facing left, in the left slot it rubs up against the strings and saddles of the guitar in the left slot section. I bought a 2010 Les Paul Goldtop and it was in mint condition. It is not anymore. All the damage has been caused by the case and not rocking out. There are a number of scratches, dings and chips at the bottom of the guitar and in the back that were caused from the guitar slipping off of the foam that separates the two guitars while trying to slip the guitar in and out into place. The thin foam padding that they have at the bottom of the lip has fallen off and that has caused some dings and scratches on my guitars when taking them out and loading them in. I do like the case for the ease of mobilizing the guitars but the design of the slots and UX of the case has fallen short. I was hoping that in our times that these things would have been addressed during the research phase of design but based on what I’ve experience with this product I doubt that much research and testing was invested in the actual load and unloading of guitars of even the UX of the product. On their website they use language like “ Whether you call them your "Babies" or your "Axes", we know how important your guitars are to you…”. I first thought about baby strollers and how padded and safe they are. This case is okay not great. I don't fly I just bought it to throw in my car and go to gigs. The quality of the build is well below SKB into the Gator end of the spectrum, okay not great. It will not fit a Jazz style bass which I thought was unusual given the popularity of that style instrument. I bought mine on sale and was disappointed. If I had paid full price I would have been angry.

I categorize gig bags into basically 3 categories ranging from completely soft, to soft with a semi-rigid perimeter, to a hybrid that is fully solid on the edges. The Fusion falls into the middle category. I tend to avoid the soft category as I fear headstock damage though I own several gig bags in each category. This bag may have risen to the top of my list. The other bag I have in this category would be the Mono Vertigo. While I understand what people like about it, I have issues with it. The straps aren't concealable. While the material is nice, the zippers are not waterproof and do let water in. Storage is minimal. The lining WILL wear quickly due to the way the guitar is inserted/removed. There's no adjustment to account for short scale instruments or offset bodies. As for the rigid hybrid cases, I own several of the Access Stage 5 and Protec Contego bags. The Access Stage 5 is the plushest but is heavy and expensive and not comfortable. The Contego is a little lighter while offering about the same level of protection and is more comfortable. This was the bag that I'd say the Fusion has just toppled for me in that it's even lighter and more comfortable for normal carrying. If I were forced to check a bag in, I'd opt for the Contego but since I don't take instruments on planes, that's not an issue.Steven G.

I was looking for a bass gig bag with +20mm padding, a toughened bottom end and pockets big enough for 2 Boss pedals. The Urban came up on Google. It ticked all of the above, and had chest and waist straps; I ordered one – the wrong one. A call to the office was all that was needed to get the order changed from a black to a blue bag. The bag came boxed the next day. Its padding is hefty enough to make for a stiff bag. The straps have clips to keep the ends tidy. A length of adjustable padding lets me make a nest for the stomps, wireless kit, a short lead and a few other small bits, inside the bag with my Ibanez SR300EB bass. The bass goes inside the padding; the other stuff, between padding and case. There are pockets inside the pockets. One of them had a Fusion key ring and lanyard inside. I wanted pockets and got them. I can fit my Blackstar Fly 3 Bass stereo pack in the biggest pocket. My Hercules EZ-Pack guitar stand fits into the head pocket with room to spare. The chest and waist straps help spread the load. I have, in the first day of getting it, gone on 4 buses and a train, cycled 7 miles, and walked more than 2, all with the bag loaded for my afternoon at the music studio. I stood the Urban in a corner, and it stayed stood. Try that with most bags. It's heavier than my other bass bag, but weight means quality, and you're not going to get this much shielding without weight. The width covers much of my back, blocking out my hi-vis coat. I would welcome more hi-vis on the main and Fuse-on bags or at least some hi-vis rain covers. I can at least put a hi-vis rucksack cover on a Fuse-on, as and when I get one. A staffman my music shop said I'd chosen well, he saw it, and they don't deal with Fusion. The bags are dear but well-made and will look after you.Mick

I researched carefully before buying this bag and this sure was time well spent. I travel in London on public transport every week with my guitar and need a tough bag with good straps and pockets. This bag is fantastic! It is so much better than my old one being stronger with great protection and a snugger fit for my guitar, and excellent good sized pockets. This bag has much more comfortable straps and amazingly it is more compact overall than my old one which used to catch on the doorways and overhead handrails on the train and tube. I also like that it is more rigid than my old bag and as a result it is easier to remove or replace the guitar without the bag collapsing all over the place. The neck protection in this bag is also far superior. Overall it cost half as much again than my old bag but I am twice as happy so worth every penny!Rob

I had a cheaper dual gig bag that I had used for years to get to gigs. But as I got better, my basses got a little higher end and I wanted better protection for them. I had previously purchased a single Mono M80 on a whim and was using that for transport to practice when I usually only need the one bass. It's worked well and held up so I'm sure this dual model will too. I also got the "Tick" to pack-in my necessary cables and gear in one swoop. I can move it between my single M80 for practice and my dual for the gig eliminating the need to bring in my duffle bag of gear. That can stay put in the car with my spares until needed, freeing up a hand for the amp. Mono seems to be a good brand and I trust it to protect what's top end for my budget; my Stingray 5 and my American Deluxe Jazz V.Zeta05

Excellent Bag! Excellent quality!! This bag will last you a life time. My only concern is that it gets very very heavy when you put two basses into it. Right now it is holding two older MM Stingrays, and the bag weighs a ton! It's not a bag that I would constantly carry with me. Despite weight issues its a great bag!Ferd

I bought one of these for a Sterling by Music Man bass as I was under the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). As the photos indicate, this bag will work for a Fender P Bass, but the Fender FB620 is a better bag for that and other Fender bass guitars while presently costing 10 less than the Gator while offering better protection and features. The Gator GB-4G seems to be more of a universal fit bag accommodating a wider range of sizes. The thing it seemed to have going for it the most was its zipper which seemed heavy duty. I say "seemed" because I returned the bass and so the bag as well.Vice

I bought a used guitar for back porch jamming. Needed a gig bag that didn't cost more than the guitar ,but would keep it safe and clean. Stopped at Sam ash because I was certain they had a variety of gig bags. Not my first visit or purchase.The Gator gig bag I chose is the economy for dreadnought guitars by Gator. Great price for my budget and well made. This bag is perfect for my needs. Easy carry and my guitar is covered.Just enough padding in all the right places for my guitar. Unless it has improved features or is being made in the U.S., I don't see the reason for the price increase as the FE620 gig bag provides better protection and features (for Strat size guitars anyway). I purchased one in May 2021 and only because as I was of the impression Gator bags were made in the U.S. when, come to find out, they're made in China (as are Fender gig bags). I should have sized things up beforehand since the Sterling by Music Man Cutlass I bought the bag for is essentially a slightly shorter, slightly sleeker version of a Strat (for which the FE620 was made). The best thing the Gator bag seemed to have going for it was the zipper which seemed rather heavy duty while mesh pockets on the front of a gig bag aren't particularly practical while being subject to tearing/ripping. As you can see by the photos, there's too much room in the bag for a Strat size guitar (though one might be able to insert the headstock into the bag's internal top pocket to prevent the guitar from sliding around too much in the bag). The Gator GB-4G ELEC Series Gig Bag is more of a universal fit bag better suited for guitars longer and/or wider than a Strat.Vice

This case is absolutely perfect! It’s protective and the lightest case on the market under $2,000. It’s great for me who usually doesn’t fly and needs it mostly for around campus. It’s also great for wedding gigs because it’s easy to store wherever. There is plenty of storage in the case for extra strings, rosin, a tuning key etc. I did research for a new cello case with a large budget but I found this case and it’s the only one I wanted. I will highly recommend this case to every cellist, also the bow case that comes with it is super protective which is great because my bow cost almost as much as my cello!! I was reluctant to buy this case with only one photo and no description but I'm glad I did! It is the equivalent of those twice the price! Sturdy construction, dense padding, roomy interior (it fits my Jackson X Series Soloist Arch Top SLATX8Q MS 8-String) bottom feet,…I'm very impressed! This was priced right and will do the job. It's not the most heavy duty bag I have, but definitely not the worst. All in all I'd recommend it for a gigging player with work tools, but NOT collectable axes. There's no real neck support in this bag, but if you're careful, you should be OK.Keith L

This is a gig worthy bag. It hold two electrics, Two of a Tele, Les, Strat. Even a 7 string Ibanez RG5127 and an 8 string Ibanez RG852.starofradiance

I received one of these cases with me Fender American Elite Shawbucker Stratocaster. I've loved the case, no problems and has alot of protection. I decided to buy a "beater" Fender Player Strat that I didn't have to worry as much about as my other premium guitars. It unfortunately does not come with a case. I was a little worried it wouldn't fit the same, but it's perfect. This case can definitely take a beating and protect your precious guitar. I highly recommend this case if you need a case for a Stratocaster.Michael

This case fit my MIJ Jazzmaster like a dream! I was able to get a discount with Musician's Friend as the previous case I was going to buy was on backorder. This case has far better specs than the SKB case I was going to buy and its well worth the money. Supports the neck properly, and has a nice compartment. The only thing I wish this case had more of was I wish the compartment was big enough to fit extra pickguards. Its a minor gripe and still has plenty of room for tuners, strings, picks, and the trem arm. Bottom Line: If you have a Jazzmaster that you're going to travel with or you want to keep it safe, then this is a must buy!Tim

Overall: See title. I own two gig bags from World Tour. One is an older model and the other is this one. Both are great. They offer a good bit of protection and they aren't too expensive. The materials feel very durable. Other gig bags cost double this and aren't as good. I highly recommend World Tour gig bags to anyone. As a heads up, my short scale bass is able to fit in this deluxe electric guitar bag. I am so happy. The next time I need a gig bag, I will get another one from World Tour.Marshall

Overall: This bag obviously is not the high dollar type of case. However, the material is much better than i had imagined. Relatively thick canvas and solid material. I am especially impressed with the zippers which are very good and give you confidence when opening and closing the bag. It will keep your guitar from sun, rain and water, and relatively light conditions. But this is NOT a protective bag. It is a carry all. It has one pocket to hold your extra stuff that's a pretty good size with two zippers. I would definitely buy another one especially at this price. The bag came with my order of a guitar and fit it perfectly (a Gretsch G5220) Basically, it will just about fit any solid body guitar from a Les Paul to a Strat. Solid purchase in my opinion.Michael

I purchased this gig bag for a Squier Bullet Telecaster, and the guitar fit perfectly. I love the thickness of the padding and features such as the extra nylon pad on the headstock, so the strings don't rip apart the inside of the gig bag, as it happens with so many other ones. The pockets are nice and roomy, definitely more than enough for me. All handles and straps are high quality and feel sturdy, never makes you feel like they're gonna rip out on you. Zippers feel good, they're big and bulky, definitely high quality! You're getting quite a lot of value for the price this gig bag sells for! I've read terrible reviews and seen pictures of big brand gig bags (some of which retail for 2-3 times the price of this one, so I went with this one and can't recommend it enough!Oscar

Purchased this case for my Fender Precision Bass. Mostly, will be kept in my studio, and occasionally on a few short gigs. Case seems sturdy, and I like the compartment size suitable for a strap, cable, etc. Also features a locking latch which is very handy. Pricewise, its a very nice case for my needs, without going into more expensive flight cases for touring. Very satisfied and should last for quite a while. Would buy this product again. Decent case for the money. Dimensions are a little off from whats advertised. Lower bout width is around 13-1/4 instead of 13-1/2 so my BC Rich Eagle fits a little snug. Overall, no more than I use it, itll work. Sure beats paying $300 for the actual BC Rich case. Also, if your headpiece sets at a steeper angle, it will put pressure on the headpiece. Depth is more for a Fender style headpiece.xv1700at3

The molded ABS Exterior is very nice and suggests quality. But the substructure seems flimsy and is subject to some twisting and torque. The interior is very minimalist. It has a layer of black plush padding, but there is no compartment for picks, tuners or other accessories though there is plenty of room for one. The plush padding is very thin and seems cheap. The buckles and handle look and feel cheap. There is a velcro strap to secure the neck, but it looks cheap and not very well secured. It could use a 2nd velcro neck strap for better stability. I'd be concerned about a traveling with a heavy Strat or Telecaster in this case, or flying anywhere, as it may be too much for the case to handle after a while. Basically it's a low end case – but with an ABS Exterior. In my opinion it is not worth the regular price and is only worth considering at the sale price.Gary

I received this just a few days ago after purchasing a used one on clearance through MF. I bought it for a Sire P7 5-string, which it fits perfectly. It arrived in great shape, just about like new, with the exception of a couple of tiny nicks/scuffs you have to look pretty hard to find. The case is literally identical in every meaningful way to the Road Runner ABS bass case, which I have two of for other basses. The only difference is the interior of the Road Runner case is gray, while the MG is black. Materials feel exactly the same, cutouts are exactly the same, dimensions are identical, it has the retaining strap for the neck, and everything externally is completely identical, except that it doesn't say "Road Runner" on it. Having toured extensively with the Road Runner version, I have no doubt that this case will hold up just fine to light touring. I think I even flew with it once, but I wrapped a couple of straps around the outside, "gate checked" it and kept an eye on it. One of the ABS "extrusions/bumpers", for lack of a better descriptor, of the RR version cracked after some use use, but otherwise it has held up well. I expect the MG variety will do the same. For the price difference, it's a no-brainer. Get the MG. They're exactly the same in every way that matters. As long as you're not flying regularly with it, or allowing drunken roadies to toss it roughly into the back of a bus or trailer, it will hold up just fine.Bass Fella

Had my eye on one of these for a long time, so I finally pulled the trigger and glad I'm did. This case will suit my needs nicely. Fits 26.5" scale Jackson Dinky or Soloist almost perfectly. The headstock just barely grazes the plush lining, and it is not obstructed or pressed against the floor of the case. I couldn't ask for a much better fit. This case will be used for general transport to and from rehearsals, and I have no doubt that it will excel in that. However, I must agree with some other reviews here in regards to road-worthiness. I would not happily rely on this case to protect my axes from the rigors of a grueling world tour, but it's perfect for the hometown hero or simple transport. The outer ABS shell is flimsier than a real deal SKB, but seems sufficiently durable and decent for the price range. The interior is very soft, and cradles my instruments nicely. The security neck strap is a nice touch. Storage areas flanking the neck have plenty of room for a strap and other accessories, but no lids means keeping a trem bar there could be a little risky. I've found a pack of D'Addarios fits in the spaces nicely however, kind of making a makeshift lid, so there is that. The hardware on the outside of the case is sufficient, but not great. Things lock into place well enough, but when not locked they are pretty loose feeling. I'm confident they'll hold up, but I'm not blown away. The aluminum channels around the sides fit together well enough once locked, but I'm sure its not waterproof. There is an audible "click" when closing the case from the aluminum channels kind of snapping into place on the back. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I got this case for a very stupid deal.(MF's Reward program ROCKS) For the price I paid, I am thrilled with it. However, the story would likely be a bit different had I paid full price. Make no mistake, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it that I have found.. it's just… adequate. But overall, Happy with my purchaseSkinnedpuppy

I picked this up for my ESP LTD B206 and it’s perfect. It’s super snug so your instrument doesn’t move around. I love the neck support with Velcro enclosure to secure the instrument. I also appreciate the end pin padding. I keeps the end pin from poking through the bag. Well built and durable. On top of all that AMS matched a lower price I found online and I’m using the payment option. Fast shipping…I received it in 2 days so I was ready for Sunday worship service. I love this case. I always bring two guitars in case of broken strings, and different songs call for different sounds. Having both in one bag makes load in and out a breeze. my only con would be the straps need to be wider. two guitars no matter how light are heavy and wider straps would be better.Leon

Doesn't have an enormous amount of storage but the big pocket is roomy enough for cables, tablet, etc. It's smaller than the the other dual bags I looked at and you'd be forgiven if you thought it was a bag for a single acoustic guitar at first glance. Inside it's nothing fancy but it holds the guitars in well and the material is the type that won't leave fuzz on your instrument. Well worth the money if you need to take 2 guitars along with you to gigs or practice. It's the perfect balance of good protection without being overly bulky or expensive. Check them out!AJB

It's adequate. Not really bad. but not really that good. It provides minimal protection like most gig bags but it has some large and very spacious external pockets. Personally I would recommend spending a few more dollars and getting the World Tour Deluxe Gig Bag. The padding is much more substantial and the zippers are of a higher quality. What makes this case a bad design are the slot sections inside. The foam buckles, folds and breaks pretty quickly. This causes a situation where when you are removing or loading your guitar, facing left, in the left slot it rubs up against the strings and saddles of the guitar in the left slot section. I bought a 2010 Les Paul Goldtop and it was in mint condition. It is not anymore. All the damage has been caused by the case and not rocking out. There are a number of scratches, dings and chips at the bottom of the guitar and in the back that were caused from the guitar slipping off of the foam that separates the two guitars while trying to slip the guitar in and out into place. The thin foam padding that they have at the bottom of the lip has fallen off and that has caused some dings and scratches on my guitars when taking them out and loading them in. I do like the case for the ease of mobilizing the guitars but the design of the slots and UX of the case has fallen short. I was hoping that in our times that these things would have been addressed during the research phase of design but based on what I’ve experience with this product I doubt that much research and testing was invested in the actual load and unloading of guitars of even the UX of the product. On their website they use language like “ Whether you call them your "Babies" or your "Axes", we know how important your guitars are to you…”. I first thought about baby strollers and how padded and safe they are. This case is okay not great. I don't fly I just bought it to throw in my car and go to gigs. The quality of the build is well below SKB into the Gator end of the spectrum, okay not great. It will not fit a Jazz style bass which I thought was unusual given the popularity of that style instrument. I bought mine on sale and was disappointed. If I had paid full price I would have been angry.
