Ok so it's Chinese made, but this is why it does not cost 1500. The build quality is good, the setup out of the box was great. Low action and easy to play, even accounting for wider than standard 6 string neck. ( And I don't have long fingers) The electrics work great and the hidden nature of controls is cool, if you don't want a big hole cut in the side of your guitar. Solid woods throughout, with great finish. Weakest point is the tuners, but it holds tune well for a 12 string, which in itself is unheard of!jacol-431

I've wanted a Guild 12-string since college, over over 40 years ago. Back then I had a Lyle Hummingbird clone 12-string, which sounded okay (laminated body, spruce top, Japanese manufacture.) Before I left college I also bought a Guild G-37, blonde, arch back 6-string. I still have both guitars. I loved the sweet, well balanced tone of the G-37, but could never afford one of their 12-strings to mate up with it. Fast forward to now – haven't played any of my guitars in several years, and wanted to get back into it. With the Westerly Collection, a 12 string was now affordable, and all the reviews and videos convinced me that this was the time! My new F2512E Deluxe arrived the other day, and it's stunning! Flawless finish, precision inlays, and oh that tone! Just like the tone of some of my favorite artists from the folk era, like John Denver. Can't wait to try Rocky Mountain High on this baby, but I'll also be learning or relearning some more contemporary tunes as well. Thanks Guild for making an affordable but terrific sounding 12!Mike

Bought this guitar to add to my acoustic collection. For this price my exoectations were low as I own a Martin, Gibson, Ovation Elite and Yamaha Transacoustic all which cost considerbly more so I was abslutely blown away by this guitar. It came perfectly setup out of the box with nice low action-no adjustment needed. The glossy sunburst finish over the flamed maple back and sides is absolutely beautiful-the top and is matched spruce and the back is matched flamed maple. Beautiful shimmery sound and the pickup sounds great plugged into my deluxe reverb amp. The satin neck finish is smooth and the frets are smooth and polished. The quality of this guitar is outstanding-I could not find a flaw in its material or construction anywhere. Nice bright maple jumbo guitar that I am glad I purchased. Don't let the price point and the made in China sticker scare you away-this guitar holds its own against my Martin HD-35, Gibson hummingbird and my other acoustic guitars. I bought a gator jumbo case to keep it safe and the ase fits nicely.DWB

I recently took delivery of an open box "condition level 2" Schecter Orleans Stage Acoustic/electric guitar from MF. I can't find a ding, a nick or a scratch anywhere on it. The only negative I can find are a few rust spots on the strings. Even the action if set very good. I cannot imagine what the person who returned this guitar was looking for that they had to return this one? In my time I've owned and played a Martin D18, Taylor Grand Pacific, Larrivee L-03 and over a half dozen other of various brands and prices. This mid price half-a-grand guitar hangs with and in some cases surpasses the big dogs from the big names! The vampyre red is a very beautiful, deep red. And it great flame on the maple back. Size is GA and very comfortable. Upper fret access is good too. The guitar sounds great with good projection acoustically, and is even better plugged into a Yamaha TRC desk-top amp. I was concerned with the maple back & sides making it too bright, but the tones are really just perfect. Nice lows, mids & trebles across the spectrum. And the best part is the neck. I don't have big, meaty hands and with this one some of the chords I've struggled with and also some barre chords come easy! EASY! I have a Schecter electric and it's a keeper…I just didn't even know Schecter built acoustics but I do now and can't wait to try the Orleans Studio w/ the cedar top or maybe the 7 & 12 string Stage models. Bottom line, I can't see how anyone would not be fully impressed with this fine instrument.AK-J

For the price this guitar sounds amazing. The neck and action come perfect right out of the box. Its super comfortable to play. It looks great too. At the price this guitar is amazing! I recommend some DR Veritas strings. The one down side although super minor is the strap button on the button is also the input jack, my first acoustic electric idk if this is standard. But it makes putting a strap lock on super hard and annoying. Schecter is known for their amazing electric guitars but i can assure this acoustic is well worth the money and an amazing instrument.Matt C.

Grover's Rotomatic machine heads are superbly-designed to do one job and do it well – precisely adjust the tuning of guitar strings, and keep them where you put them. These 205C12's are no exception to the rule. I had my luthier install them on my Danelectro Classic 12-string (along with a custom bone nut), and the difference those two mods made to the tunability and sustain of my guitar is compelling. The original, factory Danelectro tuners are chrome-plated, pot-metal crap. They slip contantly. The Grovers, by contrast, stay EXACTLY where I put them. My guitar stays in tune, and adjusting it (for changing humidity and temperature) is quick, easy, and painless. I sure can't say the same for my Dano's factory equipment. Now, admittedly, a lot of the improvement is due to the new, bespoke bone nut. All Danelectro guitars ship with an aluminum nut that is an incredible obstacle to tuning, because of sticktion between the metal strings and the metal nut. (Aluminum, in particular, is a terrible choice for this application, because, like titanium, it galls in metal-on-metal contact applications – which is to say that the two metals tear microscopic chunks out of one another at their point of mutual contact.) The standard, aluminum nut also almost guarantees that you WILL break strings at the nut. The custom bone nut completely eliminates both issues. The Grover tuners add the bonus that the strings stay where you put 'em, once they stretch out. And the 205C12's are RESPONSIVE. Turning them either direction immediately and smoothly changes your strings' tuning. With a 14-1 gear ratio, you can tune VERY precisely. The 205C12's (and their nickel-platec cousins the 205N12's) feature minii buttons, so there's enough room between them to keep you from accidentally knocking a neighboring string out of tune while you're adjusting them. I can't recommend this product highly enough. If you're not sure whether they're going to be an improvement over your guitar's factory tuners, I'm here to tell you that you needn't worry. These are a great upgrade for your axe, and they'll help you fall in love with your guitar all over again.thomst

Comprehensive history of not only the Rick 12, but the threads of Electric Guitar history and the relationships which formed it. Just as the first recordings were done from furniture places, as the tech such as gramophones were counted as furniture, so the creators of electric instruments were electro techs, familiar with Bakelite radios etc. Some details puzzled me; I visited the Rickenbacker headquarters in Anaheim in 1976. Maybe it was a zip code thing. The book says Santa Anna. No one there could trace the serial number of my 360 12. Perhaps someone else coul help now? the estimated it as a 1965 dated model; it is identical to George's second Rick 12. Details worth adding to a new edition would be the use of a Rick 12 by Fleetwood Mac (Say that You Love Me, lead break), Greg Kihn, and also Martin Rotsey of Midnight Oil. The latter made extensive use of Rick 12's on albums fro 10-1 onwards. Tony Bacon picked up on The Church, but there was also Greg Rowe of the The Flying Circus, an earlier Byrds like outfit from Australia. Great book if you're interested in Rickenbackers, especially that iconic sound of the first electric 12 string, or even just that history of the British Invasion and how many recognisable songs used them from the Beatles to Tom Petty and many others. A must have if you have a Rickenbacker 12 String of course !Andy

I would like to say that I am very happy with my MacKenzie & Marr Algonquin 12, 12-string guitar. It is indeed a beautifully crafted instrument. The tone is bright and clear and the harmonics go on forever. I am particularly pleased with the balance of tone and volume from the bass all the way to the treble. The intonation is spot on, always a concern with a 12-string. The tuning pegs are top-notch allowing for precise tuning, also especially important. It is indeed comparable to instruments two to three times its price.Phil

My first 12string was stolen many years ago, and I've always wanted a new one to fill out my collection. I've tried many since then and really didn't find one that fit the bill. When I saw MacMarr was making one, I jumped at the chance and was not disappointed. As always with MacMarr works, the guitar is a beauty, but it excels in its playability and sound. The neck and fretboard are smooth and easy to play and the sound really fills out a room. I am so happy that I've found a new 12-string, that I've named it "Twelve Toes" after the old SchoolHouse Ditty (look it up) – like an old friend that came back home.Randy

This guitar has a lovely voice: balanced and bright with an excellent sustain. To my hand the neck is sublime as to be invisible. I would describe it as perfect. The wood is everywhere remarkable. The fine old-growth sacrificed to produce this instrument has found a second life as vital as the first. Detailing on a par with the general excellence of this instrument puts it in an odd class where superlatives turn trite. It simply must be played to be appreciated.Lee
