Reviews:
I just completed my Mod 102 kit. An excellent experience! I was delighted with the quality of components, clarity of instructions, and, perhaps most importantly, the sound of the amp. It is very loud – currently running into my Fender Twin Reverb cab (2×12) and very sweet! I will be running it into a new 1×12 cab with a new Celestion G12 M Heritage 'Greenback' when I get a case for the speaker (on order). My only criticism (and something to look out for) is that the chassis is very nicely painted in gray gunmetal paint. Even following the directions to file all the holes, it is very hard to get a good ground connection at every point a terminal strip connects. I worried about this, and about 1/3rd of the way through the build, took an ohm meter to check all the connections, and as I had suspected, some of the connections were not great (9-10 ohms or so!) So I removed the terminal strips (with the components I had already soldered still attached) and scraped away the paint under the tabs of the strips to ensure a good connection. Re-testing showed virtually zero resistance. I'd strongly recommend scraping the paint away at all holes under the chassis before getting started on the build. Even better, suggest that Amplified Parts leave the inside chassis unpainted (at least around the important holes). Aside that one criticism, I am delighted with the kit and with Amplified Parts. Everything was delivered promptly and they are a class outift. I'll probably try some of their other kits soon.vpmerlyn
I spent three evenings building the MOD102. The instructions are very easy to understand and the amp has a great Fender sound. I had one grounding issue that was easily fixed with a little help from tech support, which was excellent. If you're good at following step by step instructions and can solder well this is a fun little amp to build. Only small issue is the labels. They could stand an improvement.Brandon
I just finished this amp build and it sounds fantastic! I also just finished a Marshall 18 Watt clone and I have to say that the Mod102+ holds its own very nicely alongside the Marshall. In fact, I will probably use the Mod102+ for recording because it sounds amazing at lower volumes (the Marshall is loud AF). Honestly, if I were only going to build one of them today, it would be the Mod. I'm blown away by the tone! Great kit with excellent instructions. Great bang for the buck. The parts all seem to be top quality. I love the old style cloth solid core wire, too. I find it much easier to work with than modern stranded wire. The labels are a bit lame but I covered them with packing tape as suggested before cutting them out and they look fine. If you're thinking about building an amp, build this one.danjbeckett
2. Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Guitar Amplifier
Product Details:
I'm selling my fender custom '68 deluxe reverb. i am not the original owner of this amplifier. i have used this amplifier live a handful of times but has mostly resided in my smoke free home. this is a rocksolid amp. great fender cleans and breaks up nicely when you dig in. the only thing that i had changed on this amp were the power tubes as the originals were dying out and the speaker cable replaced. the replacement power tubes are a pair of 6v6 jj power tubes. otherwise this amplifier works great and really really sounds great. also comes with the original foot switch as well.

Reviews:
This amplifier is a classic, with some new twists. It’s got a great tone, breaks up nicely due at a slightly lower level than both the original Deluxe Reveeb and the ‘65 reissue, and with the custom Bassman channel, it has two sounds to choose from: the standard Deluxe tone (but no bright cap, so the sound is thicker and warmer), and the more organic tone of the Bassman sound. Both channels have reverb and tremolo, and that is another big selling point for me. I’ve owned six other Deluxe Reverbs over the years, including original ones, and I think this amplifier is up there with the best Deluxes. A friend of mine has an original 1965 Deluxe Reverb, and we put this one up against the 1965 model, and this came up ahead of the other one. The custom features give it an edge, and the Celestion speaker makes it sound crisp and doesn’t flub out like an old Jensen speaker does. This amp can do it all, takes pedals extremely well, and it’ll help your tone get to a higher level. Like another friend of mine said, “It sounds like the record.” Says it all.
Just can't say enough good things about this amp. From the moment I plugged it in I was in tone heaven. Simply strummed a chord and just found myself listening amazed at what a good amp can do to bring out the tone of a guitar. Everything about the amp is just right. Great tone without having to shatter my eardrums. Simple tone controls that I honestly haven't had to really touch at all. Stellar reverb and very nice tremolo. I have used tremolo pedals and reverb pedals and there is no comparison to the real deal that this amp produces. Both channels are very useful, the custom channel takes pedals better for sure while the vintage channel just gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. I for sure plan to hook up an a/b switch so I can use both. Fit and finish were perfect and it came with a really nice dust cover. Only negatives I have found are that turning it off creates a loud pop. I researched and apparently it is normal and many say to turn the volume down and then power it off from the power switch rather than turning the standby off first which does make a difference. My understanding is that the standby is for turning the amp on to warm up for a minute or two, then turn the standby on and standby isn't for turning off. Also standby isn't for taking breaks though that is the urban legend. Only other negative is that I would prefer a pedal that either has lights on it to know if trem and reverb are on or some sort of light on the amp but since I pretty much always have reverb on and can clearly tell when the trem is on not a show stopper but would have been usefulmelodyguy
I brought into the hype and got the 68 deluxe. Not a bad amp, but not worth the money. Besides the noise issues and lack of a mid EQ you can't switch channels without an AB box. It's a nice sounding amp, but the Hot rod deluxe has more channels and headroom and the Blues deluxe is also a better sounding and useful amp. I would suggest doing a side by side comparison before buying.Mike Hickey

Reviews:
I use one of these for my nylon string Godin Multiac. I blend the nylon with a GR33 synth and run both signals into this amp on the clean channel. The issue I've always had with amplified nylon string guitars is the 'plucky' or 'plasticy' sound of them through guitar amps. This bass amp solved the problem for me. With the amp's treble and bass rolled off completely I can get a very round clear tone by using the guitar's eq to provide the brightness. Very light and powerful, and an unexpected solution to a long-standing problem I've experienced. The electric violinist in the band tried his setup through my amp with almost identical settings and he bought one also! Works very well for bass also, in a small setting.Jan-Mikael
TLDR: BUY IT! I ordered this amp when I bought my very first bass. For years I was stuck with a school Ampeg Little Stud bass from 1973. The bass itself was 40 pounds, and for all of its vintage appeal, I was not impressed by its condition or playability. The amp was even worse. It was a Backline 112 that weighed 50 pounds, and when I performed with it in a school gymnasium with a capacity of a mere 400 people, nobody heard me playing. When I bought my bass I knew that I needed a new amp. Enter the Rumble 100. If this is your first amp, you might think this is a little pricey, but trust me, it is beyond worth it. I'm only 5'1", and while I could carry the heavy Ampeg bass and amp, it was starting to hurt my back. But this amp is incredibly light. I almost expected it to have zero bottom end. But when I played it, I was shocked. The sound was very well-supported, even if it's played with the bass, low, and mid down and treble all the way up (which I wouldn't recommend… I mean, it's a bass amp…) I've loved this amp ever since. But I'm not a "pro" yet, so let me tell you what some professional musicians thought when they saw my amp. I performed with a popular local brass band that has been together since 1980. Altogether they have 50+ years of touring and gigging experience. They're used to lugging some pretty heavy equipment. When I walked in to the auditorium, I had my bass case slung over my shoulder, my amp in my hands, and all my music nestled under my arm. Of course the stage crew at the door all thought that the tiny chick (me) was about to drop everything, so they rushed over to help me by picking up my amp. They went, "What? We're wondering where the inside went, Is this it?" They thought it would sound awful. But that night, in front of 2,000 people (and there was a bass solo), everybody said they could hear me perfectly. The design is simple, the onboard controls are very effective and not too complex, and it plays loud and proud without hurting you.Bass Clef Kid
Like the rest of the bass players out there I've used all of the major brands. From old-school Acoustic Control heads and cabs from the '70's, to Ampegs etc etc etc…Well I've reached the point where that level of stage volume isn't needed for what I'm doing now; I shopped around, and despite some of the amazing combos available, I landed on this one. Actually the guitar player in our band mentioned that he had bought the 50watt version of this. I played through it and was impressed. For me it's the ideal unit for what I'm doing now – I still play some heavy rock (Mountain, Cream, Cactus, Trower), but when volume is required we of course use the FOH and good monitors for stage support. Having the onboard direct out is the best as it allows me to go direct into whatever board is being used, whether live or recording. Don't be fooled by the small size; the size is a real asset in terms of portability. The head is where it all starts, and the tonal range is wide so you can dial in your sound. In a live situation there's plenty of lows, highs and depth of tone. Playing in various size venues is no problem – this will carry without going through FOH in churches, smaller bars & clubs (50-100 capacity). Larger venues or live situations where stage volume is needed for impact or performance, then my personal recommendation is to use this as a personal monitoring device and go through the PA & stage monitor as a direct through the board. One last thing; the amp sounds as good on 3 as it does on 7. Any more than than 7 and it starts pushing the speaker, and not in a good way. But I've had this for several months now, use it gigging and recording regularly and overall am simply satisfied with the purchase. Like everything, this amp has limitations. You're not going to get the punch or volume of a high powered rig, and you really shouldn't be using a combo for something like that. But whether you're a beginner, novice, or weekend warrior or pro this amp, as well as the rest of this product line, is a tremendous option.jb

Reviews:
The AC30CH is the AC30 only more so! The Vox Reactive Attenuator lives up to it's promise. Couple the head with the V212 Greenback-loaded cabinet and open the amp up, and even on 1/3 watt you get something incredibly close to Vox tones at bedroom levels, but still have the option of 3 watts (small club loud), and the full fat 30 watts (aircraft hanger loud!). The effects loop is also a welcome addition, and can be bypassed for those who prefer, and the head can be set of 8 or 16 ohms, so will work with other cabinets. Classic Vox with modern versatility and features – I love it!!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Just amazing tones that can be dial from clean leads to warm crunch. The tone palettes covers most genres from blues, pop to rock. Pedal friendly (treble booster “wink”) I had it for months and been using it at church and had compliments about the sounds I’m getting with the Vox AC30. It has a Fx loop for time based effects, you can bypassed it if you wish to run your effects in front of amp and the best of all there is a switch on the back to attenuate volume and have bedroom levels and minimum stage noise, there is no noticeable loss of tone or use a reactive load for the same purpose. All in all this is just a great amp it has become my workhorse, great tone variety you just can go wrongErick

Reviews:
Two weeks in, I'm enjoying this amplifier every day. Brilliant clean tones we all know and love, with both Fender Telecaster and Gibson Les Paul. I'm playing the Bright channel, volume at 4, EQs at 6, reverb at 4, tremolo speed at 6, intensity at 5. It sounds huge, without being too loud. For loud, I play the LP into a Dr. Z Route 66, and that's been my favorite tone. Now, this gives that a run for its money– different beast, but very complimentary. I have no plans to buy any more amps.BRENDAN
Wonderful amp. Sounds just like an original mid 60s Deluxe Reverb I just to own except better. Reverb and tremolo on both channels and the normal channel has the bright cap removed. Plus its new, so no worn out parts to deal with. Sound is lush and clean at lower volume and starts to sing as the gain is increased. Really outstanding. Its expensive – but still a very good value for a hand wired amp. An original would cost the same or more and there would be issues to deal with.alasinge0
All I can say is, "Wow." This amp sounds phenomenal. It just sounds so full and rich and clear. It just naturally compresses and breaks up in such a nice and subtle way. At 4 on the volume, there is just enough for the notes to be chewy without being too loud to play at home (in a twin house). I was just immediately blown away by the lush 3D sound, and I have always been a huge fan of the bias vary tremolo. Sonically it is very close to my special edition 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue which has a Jensen P12Q. the Deluxe just adds so much more on every level. I still love both amps, but I really can't imagine waiting to turn on any of my other amps after playing this. I've owned a ton of amps, and this is the first time I have felt I could actually see myself selling all of the others.Patman

Reviews:
I use this amp at home exclusively. Even in a large room, the decibels can be quite high particularly if you are looking for that magic place where soft picking produces warm cleans, and digging in produces the growl. The amp does this magic spot very well – at about 5 on the knob for me. Just listen to many of the great guitar recordings of the last half century and you can hear what this amp can do. And if you're like me and have a distaste for pedals, you'll probably love this amp, as I do. I just wish Fender didn't have the weird bias against master volume type controls. Even this little amp could be much friendlier doing it's thing at lower decibels. Playing it at mid-volume in an apartment is probably a recipe for eviction, especially if Gladys Kravitz is your neighbor.J Small
I actually had this amp before but I sold it, the previous one had a rattling sound around volume of 5 and was overwhelmingly bassy, the bass drowned out the other frequencies but it was a great sounding amp. I purchased a different amp with bass and treble controls but it didn't sound good like the Champ. So I decided to get the Champ again and planned on getting a equalizer for it. So far with this one I don't need an equalizer. The bass is less powerful but good enough, it gets stronger as the volume is increased but it doesn't sound unbalanced with the other frequencies. This Champ volume actually increases all the way to 12 while the previous one maxed out at 9 and didn't change when turned pass 9. It's only about 15 pounds too. I haven't taken it out to rehearsal as of yet but so far at home I'm pleased with the sound. I'm surprised how much different it is from my previous Champ sound wise. The other Champ has a newish yellow looking tweed and the speaker was royal blue. It was so cute 😂 the new one has a darkish yellow tweed and a black speaker, this one actually looks like a vintage Fender Amp, like a NOS model. It has that classic Fender clean and full sound that I like. It's a great amp. I would recommend it and it's like owning a piece of history.SQJ
This is a first-impression review. I own this amp, but no electric guitar (yet) I bought the amp from Musician's Friend. I had given up on electric guitars and just picked on my acoustic from time-to-time. My kid(s) are/will be taking music lessons and I have gotten the desire to play again. First thing I wanted to do was get a quality, small amp and the Champ is perfect. I wanted a small amp that was high-quality that wasn't going to be cumbersome and something my kids could one day use. I have tried out 5 guitars plugged directly to the amp with no effect pedals. A Gibson 137, Gibson 335, Gibson SG, Fender American Strat with noiseless pickup and an American Telecaster with Texas Specials. The Strat I played was horrible, the Gibson SG was way to clean. The Gibson 137 and 335 had their sweet spots with the amp depending on the volume, but the Telecaster sounded amazing with the bridge pickup in every volume setting. It is my opinion that this amp is best paired with an honest, working-man's Telecaster. On The Gibsons, especially the SG the tone at the bottom end of the volume was very dull and didn't sharpen up till the volume was raised substantially. The Telecaster with the Bridge pickup was amazing with the Amp played at its highest volume setting. Disclaimer: The Telecaster was the last guitar I played and by then the tubes were plenty warm and I could smell that fresh new tube odor emitting from the amp. I will close with this, it's a great amp, a pure tonal machine, but keep in mind it's old-timey technology. The Tone and sound you want has to do so much with the position that you strike the strings and the volume setting. The amp sounds very differently depending on the volume setting.Tone Tone

Reviews:
With C19 I was looking for a good home tube amp and the Revv D20 way exceeded my expectations. The sound is terrific. Works well with my hx effects + pedal board. Attenuates onboard from 20w to 4w. And when I need to be quiet (headphones) or just want to pull tones into my DAW, the Two Notes torpedo is really good. I'm really glad I bought this Amp.Ira
Great sounding amp and the built in two notes cab sim is great. Great metal tones but you’ll need an overdrive pedal to really get the most out of it. Clean tones are gorgeous. MIDI is simple to use to change the channel and various other parameters too. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to silently record but with the option to power a cab too!Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
What a fantastic amplifier this is. Worth every penny. The High and Low power settings both give different sounds and are equally usable. For more gain I use a Korg Nu:Tekt Over Drive pedal, they go very well together. I use beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones with the cab sim output every day! Have not stopped playing this amp since it arrived and I would say to anyone looking for an amplifier like this that if they are in a position to do so, then buy it without hesitation. My Shergold guitar and my Gordon Smith guitar go so well with this amp- both guitars have Humbucker pick ups and definitely give me the kind of tone that I have been looking for since I first heard JoyDivision more than 40 years ago. The amp works well with my Gibson ES330 guitar too which has P90 pick ups and is sort of an upmarket Casino. If anyone knows the sounds of Bernard Sumner with both the Shergold Masquerader and the ES330 then this amp sounds a lot like his setup without the punishing volume of his Vox. I have also been able to get the Neil Young Cortez the Killer tone pretty convincingly too. No regret at all in buying this amplifier and if it breaks would buy another without hesitation. I should perhaps add that this is the first Valve Amp that I have ever bought after many years of building my own Valve Amps.David C.

Overall: I’ve been looking for one amp to do it all,and this is the closest I’ve ever come yet. The cleans have a life of their own,it’s not merely lack of distortion but a whole depth and presence, think Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Riviera Paradise,Tin Pan Alley ,etc…Mark Knopfler’s tone,Hendrix’s Wind Cries Mary, yeah it’s that good. The overdrive channel can put out some juice too, pure singing single note leads with a quick attack, and damn good heavy riffage is available, but make no mistake this is no death metal amp.Classic rock yes,Cannibal Corpse no,but I’ve got amps for that stuff anyways. When I removed it from the box,I plugged in the included foot switch, turned on the power and waited for 10 minutes or so for the tubes to warm.I put all the tone controls to the halfway point and lowered the volume to about the number 1 position on any other amp,hit the standby switch and played a few chords on my Strat,it was on the clean channel and sounded glorious! This thing takes some adjusting to get the sound you want, but every move of a knob makes a difference so finding a tone that makes you happy shouldn’t be a problem. The foot switch is nice and silent and the LED indicators for the dirty channel and the boost are super bright. I’ve only had this amp three days and I can’t wait to get home from work and play through it! Definitely worth the money and although pricey still less expensive than the only other amps that approach it’s features and tone. Of course I haven’t had to deal with any warranty work, after all I just got it,but I have the feeling I’m not going to have to deal with that, this thing is solid as a tank. For what it’s worth I highly recommend this thing,it’s a serious amp for serious playersDave
Nice amp. Very nice sound. Really like having two channels. The OD channel can be a little noisy but not too bad.William
9. Vox Ac15ch Custom 15w Guitar Head
Product Details:
The vox ac15 is the amp that started it all. boasting both a normal and top boost channel, the ac15 custom head is an all-tube, el84 driven workhorse that delivers 15 watts of authentic british tone. the ac15 custom also offers footswitchable spring reverb and classic vox tremolo to enhance the already impressive sound. adored by the biggest names in music for nearly 60 years, the vox ac15 custom carries on the tradition that began in 1958 and offers guitarists the unmistakable sound of vox, with all the refinements of a modern amplifier. included in the ac15 custom head is vox’s new reactive attenuator. this newly designed attenuator that uses vox’s reactor technology optimizes the interaction of the speaker and amp at any volume. this allows the speaker and amp to behave in the same way at stage or bedroom levels, delivering a sense of power and tone that cannot be obtained from conventional attenuators.
Specifications:
Weight | 33.73 lb |
Reviews:
I’m really enjoying the AC15CH, it’s simple and straight forward and all of the features are really useable i.e the digital verb and tremolo. The attenuator is especially useful if you play either early morning or late at night to drop the amp down from 15 watts to a watt and a half. But I will also point out if you’re a big overdrive/ distortion pedal user, Vox amps might not be the best option for you, as their is an inherent chime to them that makes using pedal gain quite challenging to dial in, not impossible but just a bit of a hassle! So bear that in mind, if you’re thinking about picking one up. Overall I really like this amp and it’s a nice replacement for an old ac30 I’ve had forever that hasn’t been running right for a long time!MR A. J. K.

I ordered a positive grid 600W head it arrived defective and I returned it the next day I then ordered and paid for a second one because I didn't want to miss out on the deal. Well today I called them because the second head was not being shipped and I was told that I would not be getting the second amp because they were out. They are refunding all my money that's not the problem the problem is I was told they had another to sell me which I was find with even though they should have set one aside because they knew the first one was being shipped back. I was not even offered a deal a a rack one which they have in stock I think I should have been offered a deal on one of the other positive grid. I guess I won't be coming back terrible customer service.carl2-82833
This amp is incredible. Having pretty much any sound at my fingertips, in a unit which can go from whisper quiet (but still great sounding) to stage volume is awesome. The knobs/switches etc all feel like very high quality, and the added software licence is a nice bonus. It may seem pricey, but it is way, way cheaper than buying all those classic amps, and the sounds are indistinguishable. Can't recommend highly enough.malediction99
I was very excited to get the Bias head after many reviews online. To my disappointment, it seems that this amounts to a midi controller for the Bias Amp software and pretty much nothing else. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any kind of usable tone out of this (possibly due to my own lack of understanding or maybe it needs to be run out of a cab) but, the thing that made me give it a two star rating is that I found out the Bias FX software cannot also be used with this head. There is so much more that could have been done with this thing. I am very disappointed with the execution of this product and had hoped for something more than the bare minimum amount of functionality.NICK
12. Vox Custom Ac30c2x 30w 2×12 Tube Guitar Combo
Product Details:
The vox 30w guitar combo amplifier offers two channels – normal and top-boost. each channel is equipped with its own volume control and the top boost channel offers highly interactive treble and bass tone controls. this powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you dial in a classic sound that is all your own. both channels rely on the tone cut and volume controls in the master section. the tone cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. the master volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. by balancing the individual and master volumes, it can deliver everything from a clean vox "chimey" sound to a powerful overdriven tone. sound in motion you can sweeten the sound of your amplifier using the vox classic tremolo effect. both the speed and the depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. a warm spring reverb is also included on amp, adding spaciousness to the sound. the ac30c2x includes an additional tone control in the reverb section. this amp can use the vox vfs2 footswitch, allowing you to turn the reverb and tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play. the ac30c2x also provide an effects loop for incorporating your favorite effects into your sound. true "bypass" switching takes the entire effect loop out of the circuit. power sharing the ac30c2x amp make use of 3 x 12ax7 preamp tubes and use 4 x el84 tubes to deliver 30 watts of power. the ac30c2x uses two 12" celestion alnico blues. it offers a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority, using this jack will mute the internal speakers. additionally, a 2nd extension speaker jack allows you to run an extra 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound.

Overall: I purchased the Greenback version in order to save a little money about 6 years ago from zZounds. This was my first tube amp, so the difference in my tone to me was so stark that I would have immediately rated it 5 stars across. Now that I’m a little older, a little wiser, I’m still giving it 5 stars across. I did, however, replace the greenbacks with Alnico Blues, and it made a world of difference, pushing this from a good amp into great amp territory. One word of warning: this is a bright amp, even into the normal channel. It is very finicky with drive pedals. The Fulltone OCD, Crowther Hotcake, Boss MD-2, and Boss Metal Zone are the one I ended up having luck with. You can also crank it for “that” sound. Everything else sounds absolutely fantastic. It’s a famed amp for a reason.Preston
AC30 is a classic high-headroom pedal platform, and it is well known in certain genres. As a Hard Rock / Heavy Metal player they wouldn't be my first choice, until I made the decision to try for a project. I was quite surprised by the results. You can get quite a punchy and tight sound with an overdrive/distortion pedal or preamp as well as a gentle sound when needed. With those 2×12 G12Ms you have a quite a range of genre's you can cover. No regrets.Murat Y.
Finally I can make the sounds I have been hearing in my head (minus the voices) and trying to achieve all these years!!! Not sure why I waited so long and tried so many other amps!…..dont get me wrong I have a Hate/Love relationship with my Fender HRDX and my Vox AC30 VR, but this blows them away!! I can use Top Boost or Normal or jump the channels with a full pedal board. Takes pedals exceptionally well and the sound it makes with a Tube Screamer are second to none!!l…..USE THE EFFECTS LOOP!!!! In mine I use in this order, EQ, Flanger, Chorus, and Delay and it just sounds wonderfull……….watch as many videos as you can to make your decision………the Vox AC30C2 with Greenbacks is amazing! I did try to use A/B/Y to use one channel for clean and one for distorted…….but settled on just putting pedalboard into Top Boost and jumping the Normal channel. Sweet sounds!! Hope this helps!!!!ikeman2009

I started off with a solid state Laney that had a crunch mode and I fell in love with that sound from the moment I first heard it. I then spent the next ten years going through different setups trying to find that sound in a gig friendly amp but I only really tried Marshall's and Fender's. After years of frustration from trying amps with combinations of mods/speakers and OD pedals I finally heard a guitarist using a Vox AC15 in a pub gig and THAT was the sound I'd been looking for and since purchasing it I've never looked back. I can get sparkly cleans to perfect crunch and then great distortion (if needed) from this amp. I play a lot of Beatles, Stone Roses, Blur and Oasis so its a very Brit influenced sound that I'm after and this amp along with my Gibson Les Paul with P90's does the job perfectly. One thing I've read is that this amp doesn't take pedals well but I disagree. At low bedroom levels any tube amp won't sound too great with pedals but if you can open this up at the volume it was designed to play at then it sounds great with anything you put through it. Other reviews have said about the lack of an effects loop on this amp being an issue but honestly, once you plug an AC15 in you just get lost in the playing without worrying about anything else because their super clear sound cuts straight through in a band mix and sounds superb on its own. All in all I'm really impressed with the Vox AC15c1 and can happily say that I won't be looking for another amp anytime soon, except maybe to upgrade to the hand wired version…Reviewed by Andertons Music Co.
Oh, WOW! High quality manufacture, terrific sound and volume, excellently and safely packaged and arrived as promised. Beautiful, archetypal Vox chime – crunches and drives spectacularly when cranked up. Lovely reverb and tremolo. Quite a substantial thing and heavy with it, but I'm over the moon with this amp and if you're thinking about getting the same because you like the Vox sound – don't hesitate, it's everything people say it is and more when you're actually standing beside it. It might say 15 watts on the back but boy is it loud when you crank it up. Separate channel and master volume control means you CAN get it to work at lower volume levels. Awesome 🙂Ade
I have wanted one of these amps for a long time. I owned the ac10 and that was a good amp for the money but couldn't compare to the warmth and power of a tube amp. I don't gig out anymore so my fender blues junior has been a great little companion for the living room and does a great job for an inexpensive little tube amp. I've had it for over twelve years and it's all stock and still sounds as good as the day I bought it. I finally decided to upgrade to the vox AC15 today. I have to say that I really missed that vintage British sound that vox seems to so easily capture. This amp sounds so good it's almost unbelievable and at a price that's more than reasonable in my opinion. You could easily spend twice as much for half the tonal quality and build quality that you get with this combo amp. These AC15s are legendary work horses and are known for years of reliable service even under the harshest conditions. I got mine brand new today and wasn't able to put it down for hours. It will never leave my house so I'm sure it will provide me with years of trouble free enjoyment. It will definitely be the last amp I will ever need or want to buyStrummer

Reviews:
I got this as a Christmas gift. I never built an amp before but I do have good solder experience and general electrical knowledge. The amp worked perfectly on the first build. After following all the testing procedures I plugged in and it worked perfectly. I am extremely pleased with the sound quality. I have owned 2 other tube amps and neither sounded this good. It is surprising how low the noise is and how great it sounds. The other interesting thing is the pedals I have sound better in front of this amp versus any amp I have ever used them on. My tube screamer pedal sounds amazing in front of this amp. The gain is all there with less noise and better voicing. I have no idea why that is but I could not be happier.
I recently completed the British 18W head kit from Tube Depot, and can't say enough good things about it! From start to finish, the kit exceeded my expectations. Ordering, shipping, and customer service were top-notch. No issues with components. The instructions and documentation were amazing, worth their weight in gold. The end result was an amplifier that sounds incredible! I incorporated a few of the suggested options- PPIMV, Tremolo HI/LO sw., Tube/SS Rectifier sw., and choke. The sound is amazing, I'm finding it very difficult turning the amp off- once I start playing through the amp I don't want to stop. I would absolutely recommend Tube Depot for anyone interested in building a guitar amplifier. The clear, well-written instructions really made this an enjoyable project. This was my first amplifier build, and I had no issues thanks to the great documentation.Dave R
I ordered this kit with a mod to use KT 66 power tubes. The changes were easy to make and it sounds fantastic. The classic JTM 45 tone at a manageable volume level with the master volume control. Just to test it out I've used a power soak and the tone is exactly the same using the master volume. A couple of real nice features of the design are the negative feedback switch and the ability to switch between solid state and tube ratification (the tube sounds better to my ears). Great product!Clint
16. Kustom Defender 5h Guitar Tube Head
Product Details:
Is there anything more fun than a low-wattage all-tube amp head that provides authentic, cranked up tube tone at modest volume levels. the kustom defender 5-watt model 5h guitar head has one knob (volume). but the fun lies in hearing what this knob does as you slowly turn it up. starting in the counterclockwise position, you'll move through clean and clear tube tones to progressively dirtier sounds until this little sucker is just plain screaming. this "clean-to-mean" response isn't due to any overdrive or distortion circuit, it's just the sound of the single el84 power tube moving naturally into increased output distortion. and it's great for cranking up and controlling the action right from your guitar's volume control no channel switching required. features include one 12ax7 pre-amp tube, one el84 power tube and three speaker outputs (4, 8, and 16-ohm). by the way, the defender 5h head is designed to match perfectly with the defender 1×12 speaker cabinet. this cabinet is loaded with one 12" kustom speaker that handles 30 watts.

Huge sounding and a lot of power for such a small amp. The Spark Control App gives you loads of choices from classic sounds to the most modern of amps out there today. You also have tons of effects to use in conjunction with all of these modeled amp choices. All of these possibilities can be saved as your own personal presets which can endlessly be tweaked to make you sound and play your best. You can also use the Jam Along feature which syncs to iTunes, Spotify, etc. while also displaying the chord changes as you play. The Spark amp also connects easily to any DAW for professional sounding quality recordings. This amp does it all for a fraction of the price.Javier
Used it only for practice. Unusable for live performance. Every update was a fiasco and after 11 months, it only works as a Bluetooth speaker as the Amp section gave up. Google that issue and found it happens to many other users. Defective chip and Positive Grid helpdesk is not responding.Cory
The amp is awesome. Well built and solid, very pleasant to look at, easy to use and the sound! Oh man, the sound of that little amp is just beyond belief. Full and rich, it fills the room as though it were five times the size. With the app on my android phone, fine tuning the sound is easy and intuitive, and you can save your sounds as presets if you wish. But even without using the app, the presets that ship with the amp are simply stellar. In my opinion, the amp is well worth the price.Richard L.

Looking for great classic rock tones? Look no further. This simple amp is packed full of that great 1970's era British tone that we all love so much. The great thing about this amp is that great tone is available at a reasonable volume level. Don't get me wrong I love that dimed stack tone but my poor old ears just can't take the ear splitting volume associated with the non-master volume amps of yesterday. The CS 50 allows you to get those golden tones at a nice volume level yet still packs the horse power to stand up next to those 100 watt monsters quite nicely. The 30 watt mode is a little deceiving however, it actually sounds just as loud if not louder than the 50 watt setting and it has a bit of a different tone. In the 30 watt setting you can still keep up with 50 or 100 watt amps. All in all this is as close to perfect as one can get in a single channel amp.MedicineCrow65
